The hotel lobby as well as the basement had been emptied, and the stench that was emanating through the nooks and crannies was horrendous. One of the men came out screaming, "It is in my eye's, it got me right in the eyes." He stunk to high heaven. They had moved into the basement, and it was only a matter of time before the infested the rest of the hotel. The manager and the owner of the builder were outside to greet the young man that was going to be dealing with the skunk problem.

"One can only hope that they send someone that is competent, can you believe when I asked for a jounin they laughed at me and told me that they would send who they would send. Do they not know who I am? the owner a well dressed man said as he scoffed at the villages mere audacity to laugh in his face. A woman dressed equally as business-like rolled her eyes, and spoke in a monotone voice, "Yes sir they know who you are, they just have to place their shinobi according to the missions difficulty, a Jounin would be overkill for this, plus it would cost you far more in the long run.

The man scoffed, but knew it was sound reasoning, the manager of the building remained silent, but eyed his watch to make sure that they were early and the ninja they had hired wasn't tardy, that would make the owner, a Mr. Fukiyama even more of an ass. When the boy did arrive they would explain his job as an exterminator and then let him work his magic.

Tenjirou Shigekuni knew he was tasked with dealing with a vermin problem, but he was supposed to receive the details upon arrival. Approaching the hotel he saw man out front huffing and puffing about something and he was with woman who stood beside him. He assumed they were either irate guests complaining about the smell or they were the people calling the shots and they were still irate. Approaching them upon his arrival Shigekuni motioned to the two of them. "Are you two guests or do you work here?"

The older gentleman scoffed at this youngster who was coming to deal with what he thought was an urgent matter. He turned his nose up at the boy and motioned to his subordinate to deal with the commoner. The woman stepped forward, "Hello my name is Saiya, and this..." She turned to introduce the manger of the building, but he had disappeared from where he had been standing only moments ago. the woman sighed deeply, "The hotel manager seems to have disappeared so I will escort you to the lobby, but that is as far as I will go." she began by leading him away from her boss that refused to acknowledge the boys presence.

Once in the lobby the smell was stronger, "It has been like this for nearly a week now, at first we thought it was the plumbing, and then we thought that it was a leak and some stagnant water was causing the stink, but a guest of the hotel confirmed a skunk when she received its fragrance right in her face. She must have been awful close because it took he two days of bathing in tomato juice to get the stink to a bearable level."

She looked at a door off to the left, "That door leads to the basement, it is where these nasty critters have made their nest, apparently there is more than one down there so please be careful, and try not to get sprayed, that stink is so horrible when it is freshly sprayed. Do you have any questions? If he had any she would answer them accordingly, but if he didn't she would exit the hotel.

'Well he's a bit of dick, isn't he?' The genin thought to himself before the woman started explaining the situation to some degree. He listened as she pointed out where the problem was and he looked around. "Do you have eye goggles, a face mask, and would you happen to know how many there are? Also would you happen to have a bath robe and some kind of air freshener?" He had a slight plan on how to protect himself, but he honestly expected to get sprayed hence his request. After all maintenance and repair personnel would have the goggles and mask for dealing with clean up and repair work, bath robes should be common. The only thing that seemed difficult to get his hands on might be the air freshener.

He waited to hear the woman's response.

"We have all of those things," she stated as she gagged, trying her best to avoid vomiting in the young man's presence. "The air freshener will be in the custodial closet, which is over there," the woman gestured to a door not far to Shigekuni's right. "They had gas masks, and i think a pair of overalls are in a gym bag in a pile of gear probably somewhere near the entrance to the little vermin's new home," the woman gagged again after finishing the sentence, and this one had been worst than the others, as it took her a few seconds to recover.

Finally the woman recovered and she produced a handkerchief to wiped her brow, "As for a bathrobe, they are in all of the bedrooms of this hotel, and so far we have found that there are at least six of these vermin in the hotel, two are big and the rest seem to be their offspring, so they are just trying to protect their young it would seem, and not aware they are infringing on our well being." After her little speech she waited to see if the young man needed anything else, she handed him her key card which would allow him access to the entire hotel and then bolted for the door. "GOOD LUCK, she shouted, right before exiting the revolving doors.

Shigekuni covered his mouth as he went over to the custodial closet after the woman finished briefing him. He'd grabbed the air freshener once it had been located within the closet before he'd begin looking for a staff member, preferable someone with a key or the capability to help him procure the robe he was looking for. "Little help here? I need a bathrobe so I can get rid of the smell." He announced as he wished the woman had at least helped him get the robe before she took off since he doesn't have a key to the rooms let alone know where the they keep the excess bathrobes.

OOC: She had given you a key card that grants access to the entire hotel, plus told you where there were some overalls, a gas mask, and that there are robes are in every room of the hotel, like a complementary towel you get a robe, basically you can go anywhere in the hotel and acquisition anything that you need. Not sure if I mentioned this earlier, but the hotel is closed down due to this so you are the only person in it at the moment sorry that is my fault for not clarifying this earlier.

In the lobby the smell was quite potent, and the closer one got to the entrance of the basement the more the smell worsened. Once the boy located all the items that he needed to satisfy his needs, he would have to make his way down into the depths of this stinky hell. when he did he would notice a gas mask lying on the floor near a cubby hole, its owner long gone, there were scratch marks along the baseboards, and a large hole near the lone gasmask. The air was permeating with stench, if the boy did venture down here without his mask he would have been gagging by now. He had been provided with some gear that the maintenance had left behind, and if he chose to wear it he would be protected fairly well. The next move was his, however, as there was no actual signs that his prey was still in the basement, though he did hear some faint scratching noises.

Shigekuni went and retrieved a bathrobe from the nearest room and put it on, tying it so that robe protected his clothes. With his trusty air freshener, Shigekuni took the can and went into the basement. Shigekuni sprayed his hand to cupped it over his mouth as he moved down, hoping he could just last until he got the mask and overalls. Upon reaching the bottom of the stairs he eyed the mask, but more importantly the hole near it.

He'd attempt to make his way to the mask in an attempt to grab it before he'd search for the overalls, keeping an eye on the large hole and making sure to watch for any of the vermin in case they showed up from anywhere else.

When the boy had a firm hold on the mask, a line of what looked to be urine but much fouler in stench exited the hole in a 3 meter strand. The line of stench only last a moment and then was gone, along with the creatures that could be heard scurrying though a tunnel, that now probably branched most of the hotel. In that same moment the door above him slammed and locked, and a slight hissing noise similar to the sound of a cat could be heard up the stairwell.

The basement area wasn't large enough for a fight and with the small size of his opponent they would have an easier time attacking than he would, this would put him on the defensive for the entirety of the fight which wouldn't serve to the completion of his mission. A choice would have to be made, he would either need to make due with the cramped quarters or find a way out of the basement, and quickly, as more scurrying could be heard, and it echoed though the dark rancid basement.

As the stream went by, Shigekuni tried to keep it at a distance. He had almost lost his lunch and quickly scrambled to get the mask on, spraying the air freshener all around him. The door slamming and the hissing were signs that he was dealing with the problem sooner than expected. Still he had the mask, and the robe protected most of his clothing from anything they might spray at him. He looked around, trying to see if there was anywhere he could go, even looking at the tunnel to see how large it was.

He needed to find his way to a larger area, it did not body well to be stuck in a small space with smelly skunks that wanted to gnaw his bits off.

If the boy watched the stream hit its target he would note that it sizzled as well as there were acidic fumes coming from the area of contact. The wood where the acid-like substance had hit was beginning to deteriorate. and was becoming weaker until it snapped under its own weight. This was not a structural beam so there was no use worrying about it, but the fact that these things were shooting acid stink was something to worry about.

There were only two visible options, he could either try his luck at in the tunnel and hope that the stinky rodents had vacated it, or he could try to get out through the door. There was another choice, this albeit less visible, and it would cause extensive damage to the building that the skunks had not caused. There were points where the wall was at its weakest, this might have been due to the stink, as well as the fact that it apparently had some acidic nature to it. They had to burrow through the walls somehow and with acid eating through everything there must have been tunnels everywhere.

As far as the layout of the room the stairs came down into the center of the room. The hole that produce a fouler stench was about five feet from the bottom step, the room itself was 12x12x12, there were two hallways on either side of the enclosed staircase these halways were about four feet across and six feet high. The back area behind the staircase was cluttered with cleaning gear, and some book cases, there were no holes in these walls and it looked like the vermin never ventured back to this area. The back room was 8x8x8.

A glance down a side hall way and Shigekuni was booking it down one of the small hallways toward the backroom, once there he'd look for anything of value to use in his fight against the beasts. It seemed like the robe he was wearing would do little to help him in his endeavors but he kept it on anyway.

'Okay, they have acid stink or something, there's six of these things in total, and I'm in close quarters. I think the wall back there was damaged but I don't wanna break out explosives if I don't have to so I need a hammer. Preferably a sledge hammer.... Of course hammering through a wall is Plan B, I still need to try that door first for Plan A. Plan C is crawl through the stink hole.' Shigekuni mentally laid out his plan as he looked for a hammer of some kind for Plan B, and maybe even part of Plan A if the door was locked and the key he had didn't work. But first he'd need to find something in the clutter of the back room.

The back room was a mess, but in that mess the young nin found, some rat poison, actually several boxes of it. one had been opened and it had poured out a bit, the smell was quite potent, however the fumes wouldn't affect the Suna genin, only his prey. He found a large pair of shears, used to trim hedges, a long water hose, some metal hangers, a pickaxe, and a locked tool box, it was quite massive, but not massive enough to hold a sledgehammer.

With the new list of items Shigekuni would have to have to make his plans unfold around them. There was scratching coming from the hole that was back in the other room, it appeared that the skunks had grown impatient and come looking for him.

Shigekuni slipped the air freshener into his robe pocket before grabbing the pick axe, some unopened rat poison, the opened rat poison, and the water hose. He'd come back for more if he needed it but he made is way back up to the main room, keeping on guard in case something was lying in wait. If the coast was clear he'd pour rat poison in front of the hole from the open container first, then he'd try and go from there.

When he turned the corner to exit the back room he would see, a pair of eyes, and black and white fur sticking up on its end. If he looked further he would see that there were indeed two of the creatures, and that the the other was preparing to fire a shot in the ninjas general direction. Even with the ninja being kind of trapped back there the creatures only ventured to a few feet in front of the left hallway. If he checked the other he would note that no creature was present. But there were a pair of beady little eyes in the hole staring back in his direction.

Several hisses from the hole noted that there was more than one in there despite the number of eyes. The creatures had come for him, and yet, if the ninja was clam and kept his composure he would note that after a brief moment he would hear them scurry once again. The ninja would really have to focus but if he paid close attention he would hear the faint sound of a whistle being blown. There was some obvious chatter amongst the creatures as they all darted back to the hole, while the lookout kept a close eye to see if the ninja made any sudden movements. One creature had its tail cocked and was ready to shoot at a moments notice, it the ninja made any appearance.

Once safe in the hole they all scrambled to the sound of the lone whistle...

Shigekuni was about to devise some amazing, daring plan to defeat numerous skunks at once when some sound drew them back. He couldn't make out much but it sounded almost like a whistle over the sound of him breathing through the gas mask. With the Skunks scurrying back to the hole he watched one of them cover their escape before they all vanished into the black maw of their hole.

With all the skunks gone, Shigekuni would make his way back to the main room of the basement and pour pour rat poison into the entrance of the hole to keep them from coming back the same way as before. With that done, he'd put his other things down and take up the pickaxe. The creatures had retreated and he needed to try his luck at this point, besides making a small hole wouldn't be too hard to deal with in when compared to the skunk hole.

Shigekuni brought the pickaxe up and brought it down hard against the wall that looked to have been suffering the same damage as the whole and beam that got sprayed.

The wall cracked under the weight of the blow. The point of the pickaxe would have definitely poked a hole after three good blows, upon further examination it could be seen that there was far more to this basement than was originally on the layout. After his excavation of the wall was completed he would find that there was a room that had been covered up by the damaged cement wall. One could only hope that this was a clear path to an exit, however, the door handle had been removed, and the hinges looked fairly rusted.

looked as though it belonged in a house rather than a hotel, and yet here it rested in the basement of this establishment covered by a half-foot of eroded concrete. It would take a few more whacks with the pickaxe to get the door to budge, and when it moved it only moved a few inches, and then stopped. He would need to use all his strength to get the door open, and it wouldn't be by beating it senseless with a pickaxe. The room was pitch black so there was no viewing the inside, but there was a cool draft coming from the opening so there had to be some way out through this door.

The stinky rats never made there way down there again, in fact they stayed away once they realized that the hole that they had been using had been compromised.

Shigekuni examined the door and saw the hinges were on his side after a look at the handle told him that getting it open the old fashion way was a no go. The Genin would bring the pickaxe up above his head before bringing it down on the bottom hinge, aiming to destroy the rusty thing. His plan was to was whack at both the hinges, this would give the door little to no reason to become an obstacle unless there was stuff blocking it on the other side.

Once he'd whacked away at both hinges, he'd give the door a firm shove on the hinge side to try and knock it in.

Before I continue I need to let you know that in the beginning when I said that the Owner, and the Manager were outside I forgot to mention the woman (the owners Secretary) being with them. I did however mention her in the next paragraph which was probably confusing and led you to believe that she was the Manager. She is not, the manager actually left, as you were dealing with the owner, so you probably did see him when you walked up, but when the woman tries to introduce you he has vanished. I apologize for this as I was writing quickly and then when I went back to read I found that it made no sense.

The door collapsed and a cloud of dust rolled into the room where the young man resided. The room had old nicknacks all sprawled around it, and it didn't look like it had even been apart of this small hotel it was in fact the room looked to be that of a second basement, but of a house not a hotel. There were pictures frames with the images obscured by several layers of dust, this place had been abandoned for years. A closer examination would have revealed that it was an elderly man fishing with a child, possibly a grandfather and grandson scenario. There were several pictures like this and in the end there was a piccture with the same old man but he was standing by a younger looking version of the owner. This possibly would make the boy want to jump to conclusions, though it was way too early to tell, and there was no use speculating until he reached the surface. Inside the room there was a pair of half burned stairs that went up and to the left. The room itself was wide, and despite the fire damage its foundations were still quite strong.

the room smelled of ash and even though the basement had been untouched the hint of a fire could be discerned from the blackened floorboards that made up the ceiling. The once roof of the basement was rotting, and falling apart, yet it was miraculously holding up tons of sand. About fifteen feet from the entrance to the right there were storm doors, these looked untouched by fire, and there looked to be a slight about of sunlight poking though, though nothing extreme, it only looked like this due to the darkness that presided over the foreign basement.

Shigekuni examined what he could of the room and decided to check the doors, making his way around the edge of the room he went for the doors. He would try to open them if he could and see where they might lead.

There was really only one way out and once the young lad managed to find it all he would need to do was push on the doorway. This lead him to corridor, and that lead him to an opening to the surface. The tunnel looked as though it had been burned, but not like the rest of the house this had the stench of the skunks, though it was muted due to it being so old. This tunnel broke into the main sewer line and it only took a minute once on the surface to see where the tunnel was actually leading him. Now on the surface, if the boy looked down the street he would note that there was a bank and the acid-carved tunnel was leading him straight there.

The tunnel was old, and the door had been covered up with cement, and even then the vacant lot next to the hotel, had the charred remains of a house. These remains were due to be demolished this week, so whom ever was controlling these skunk needed to postpone the demolishing, or get to the bank.

Shigekuni rubbed the bridge of his nose. He'd stumbled upon something bigger than simple pest control but the bank wasn't his concern unless there was evidence the skunks were headed there at that moment. Shigekuni took a moment to look for any signs of the skunks before doing anything else, examining his surroundings as he tried to get a better idea of this was the right way to go or not.

With the poison down there the skunks could not follow the ninja, the would have to hang back while there master followed the young man. The cloak clad mysterious individual did however inform his pets that they should circle around to see if the young lad had made it safely to the surface.

It was a beautiful Suna night when the mysterious one entered the burned domicile. Walking over he grabbed one of the ash covered photos and wiped away the thick coating. The individual smiled, staring at a grandfather and a child, it had been twenty three years since this place had burned to the ground, and yet there had been no demolition, appeals had kept the charred remains alive, but the appeals had stopped coming, as the final lap was about to begin.

The ninja however had put a damper on things. A proverbial thorn in the beasts paw. Placing the picture down gently the mysterious one moved up the tunnel, noting that the ninja had by now figured out where this tunnel was headed. Though the skunk wrangler could only wonder if the ninja had figured out who was behind all of this.

The ninja would have to die now of course since the plan was now on hiatus, "One cannot take back what is rightfully theirs with a loose end in the mix," a voice whispered from beneath the hood. The cloaked figure ascended from the depths only to end up in the street facing the bank, a more devious smile appeared in the features of the cloaked individual.

Not a moment later, the wrangler began scanning the surroundings for the ninja that had been thrown into the mix. Once met, deadly force was the only way to fix the mess that the skunks had started. They had been told to lay low, but the babies were impulsive and adventurous. This loose end would be done with soon though, but it was a tad tragic for the young ninja that got thrown this bone.

Shigekuni scanned the area but it didn't look like he'd find many signs of the stinky monsters out here. The only good thing about this new area is that if he fought those things here, he didn't need to hold back. Still, he'd have to try and lure them out and that would be the problem more than anything right now.

"Crap, how the hell am I going to lure acid spraying skunks out of a basement? I doubt that whole I splashed poison in was their only way in or out of the hotel." the Genin said to himself as he looked toward the opening and saw a cloaked figure rising up from the same basement area he had. He doubted they were here to aid in the extermination of the skunks, and if he was supposed to be some kind of Village evaluator, he probably shouldn't have left himself be seen. Still, keep 'em guessing, right?

Shigekuni stayed silent as he remained clad in the hotels bathrobe and began to wonder why he was still wearing it even though the things effectively sprayed acid and that would melt through said robe in seconds.
