Boom goes the Dynamite!

Post by Ign0miny » Tue Apr 16, 2013 4:53 am

The mission had been handed to a chuunin by the name of Orba, they felt that he was well equipped to deal with the threat and needed him on this one. It was a mission that was as close to a B in rank but skated by with a C just by the skin of its teeth. There would definitely be some ego flaring on this one. No one knew where exactly the bomb would be and the threat had been in the form of a riddle, "Man walks over, man walks under, In times of war he burns asunder. What is it?" The letters were cut from articles and newspapers and pasted to the note. It seemed all of the notes had come to the village this way.

So far a bakery, and a ramen house in the market district had been bombed as well, and the sadistic individual promised more to come in his notes. There were several areas where this incident could take place, and Orba's job was to contain, and then locate and if possible neutralize the threat. The village wasn't too small, which would make locating the bomber a bit more difficult. The layout of the area had all of the streets running like an X. So Southeast, Southwest, Northeast, and Northwest. There had been several people injured in the last two bombings, but luckily no one had perished yet. The bomber had promised that this would change in his next bombing. His first correspondence was mailed, the second was a paper airplane that floated into the law enforcements office, they were taxed enough with having to comb the streets as well as help with the removal and cleanup of the debris that the bombs had left behind.

Orba had been given full jurisdiction and would even be given an office while he stayed in the medium-sized village. He wouldn't have to report to anyone, but the captain wanted to remain on update so that he could ready his forces at a moments notice.

Boom goes the Dynamite!

Boom.

A riddle.

Orba had heard this one before. The answer was a bridge. Why did they really need Orba's help on that anyway? Geez, people were dumb.

Anyway, Orba was given an office and people to boss around. That felt pretty cool. Though he didn't really like responsibility, he knew how to deal with it effectively. So far, a bakery and a ramen house had been bombed. According to the riddle, his next location was a bridge. How many bridges did Suna really have? Well, the bomber promised that in his next bombing, he was serious about killing people, so it meant that he was going after the most populated bridge.

Orba had to be careful though. There must've been a reason he had given a riddle. Why would a criminal tell the authorities where he would strike? So that they could find him before hand and catch him? That made no sense at all.

Being given full jurisdiction, Orba informed the captain to send all available troops evenly to all bridges in the village. Meanwhile, Orba would head over to the most populated bridge, where he would mostly expected to see the bomber.

OOC: I'm assuming with the jurisdiction and captain stuff you said, I have people I can boss around. lol.

OOC: Well it was not my intent to give you lackeys but since you have mentioned it I will give you two, will mention them below, oh and this is in another mid-sized village not in Suna, still in Wind Country though.

It was still early on the bombing front, and most of these bombings had started with a riddle and gotten more confusing as the day went on. "Hashimata Notori reporting for duty sir!" a fresh out of boot lithe woman with long black hair and bright green eyes said. Freckles dotted her face, and as she stood at attention she twitched nervously awaiting her very first order. If she had been in Suna she would have been considered an experienced Genin, but her only assets were some basic close-quarters combat training and some taijutsu training that one of the elders of the village had taught her. She stood at five feet three inches and her voice was livelier than it should have been considering the recent events. This one was apparently the muscle, while the gent standing next to her had the look of more of a brainy type.

"Sukiyama Zenchio, reporting for duty sir." The young mans tone was lackadaisical, but there was no disrespect in his tone, Zenchio was also fresh from boot, though he was top in his class at deciphering codes, and these riddles were usually a code within a code. Zenchio was a tall young man, that was skinny just like his teammate. He wore a pair of thick rimmed glasses, and kept pushing them up as they had a tendency to slide down his skinny hawk-like nose. his eyes were sunken into his face, and despite his homeland the boys skin was unbelievably pale, making him look almost ghastly.

The young man spoke first before breaking attention which made the young woman cringe, she was sure that he would be punished for speaking before spoken to. "Sir I don't think he is targeting a bridge, it is more than likely a metaphor for something else, however I have no current evidence to back up this claim. Unless you count all of the other incidents, riddles and poems, had been used but I am sure there is a deeper meaning to it all. There is no one out there that would just blow these places up without a definite reason."

He looked at Orba without batting an eye, this was a touchy subject he couldn't be too forward about this, they were trying to catch someone not analyze them, and even though that is what the young man was trying to do he knew full well that his intrigue on this bomber would have to wait and he would need to focus on the actual facts that were presented. When Orba ordered that the chief search all three bridges, it was done and not too surprisingly there was a bomb under each of them, proving the young man wrong, however these bombs hadn't been activated yet, and they all had notes on them that said "Don't touch me!"

After the bomb squad got there it was discerned that these bombs were pressure sensitive, tampering or tying in any way to move them would prove fatal.

[OOC: Oh, okay. You just phrased it like that. I didn't really want lackeys though...]

Orba recieved two men that he didn't want, but whatever. Turns out Orba was right, but there was no sign of the culprint.

He told the nerdy guy next to him to tell the others not to touch the bombs until he would say so. Also, to tell them to remain near all the bombs and guard that area as well as keep an eye out for the criminal.

He would then go to the main bridge, bringing the two along. He expected to meet the bad guy there. That way he could force him to deactivate the bombs.
