[Red Alert] Raiouku

Post by Gara » Fri Mar 23, 2018 4:43 am

Li was rushing through the desert as fast as he could, his puppet scroll secured to his back. His mind was racing, this was set to be the most important mission of his life, and the most dangerous. Councilman Akihito had summoned him to his office via a scroll, and had told him of the situation. ”Jounin Li, I have called you here today because there is an urgent mission that I believe can only be completed by you. There is a rogue Greater level spirit barreling through our great Wind country, and seems to be headed for our beloved village. Our reports describe it as being made of wind and lightning. I have already dispatched a squadron of Eidolons led by Miyako of the Kouseki clan. I believe you know her. She will give you a full report upon your arrival. To fail this mission is to fail your village! Do not let me down Li!

Akihito had tasked Li with neutralizing the spirit by any means necessary, and Li had a plan already formed. He was on his way to meet with the Jounin that had already been deployed to fight the beast, and was hoping that he would not be to late. The squadron of Jounin had been twenty strong when deployed, but had been reduced to seventeen by the time Li arrived.

The squad commander Miyako reported to Li that the spirit had the ability to nullify their chakra, and did not seem particularly affected by their physical attacks. She was well known for her battle perception throughout the Eidolons, and was highly respected by Li for it. He was sure that she would be their next leader.

As he took in the massive beast before him, Li’s mind began to race. He ripped the chain of four Kunai from around his throat, and tossed one of them to four separate people. He yelled out that he was taking command, and began to give everyone their tasks. ”The four of you are each going to take one of my kunai, and make a square formation around the spirit! On my signal you will each stab the kunai into the ground so that I may activate my barrier! I need all of the heavy Taijutsu specialists to hang back until you see an opening! If you see someone who is hurt help them, or protect them from getting hurt if you can! I do not want to lose any more lives! I want all of the Ninjutsu specialists to constantly release a barrage of attacks at this thing! But only use your weakest projectile techniques! Try to wear it down! This thing has got to run out of chakra at some point! His voice was rough by the end of it, but everyone had seemed to hear him.

With a few quick hand seals, and a twitch of his fingers, both Spike, and Tyrant, were rapidly firing senbon at the spirit. Meanwhile the other Jounin began to fight with everything they had. The four that had been tasked with Li’s kunai had moved into position, and were preparing to activate Li’s barrier, when the spirit laughed. It sounded of thunder, and made Li’s body vibrate to the core. Their attacks weren’t doing anything to it. ”You mortals think you can hurt a son of Raijin?! I will destroy you, and your puny home! Quake at the sight of my power mortals!

Everything Li knew about spirits told him that their attacks should be weakening the spirit, but, as far as he could tell, they were not. It was then that something had caught Li’s eye; just before their jutsu hit the spirit there was a quick flash of blue light, and then their techniques vanished. The Figment had been right, just like he had thought. The spirit was nullifying their attacks.

However, Li had instructed everyone to use their weakest techniques to try and wear it down. When he realized that his original plan was not working, Li had given the signal to his compatriots to activate the barrier. A massive maroon barrier began to rise from the ground, and quickly surrounded the thunder spirit. And just as Li had expected, the beast reacted the same way he had been. The spirit attempted to dispel the barrier with another one of his weak emp blasts. Because the barrier was so much stronger than the spirit’s attack, the barrier remained in place, and the spirit roared. So there is one among you who knows the binding arts?! Let me test your mettle then human! Come and face Raiouku, or feel my wrath as you flee!

What Li did not expect, however, was that the spirit would completely stop moving. It did not try to dispel their attacks, and seemed to be waiting for something. It was in that moment that Li knew something bad was coming. He instructed every one of his comrades to retreat, and, as they did so, and deafening explosion, followed by a ring of bright blue light, sounded behind them. When Li turned to face the spirit he noticed a few things. The first thing he noticed was that his barrier was gone, which he had expected. The next thing he saw was that the spirit had shrunk in size, and the last thing he noticed was his puppets. They were lifeless. Li had not expected the emp blast to reach as far as it did.

It was not until Miyako, the Figment in charge of the Eidolons that was working with Li, signaled that she could not mold her chakra, that he panicked. He formed a few quick hand seals, to try and bring his puppets back to working order, that he realized he was unable to mold his own chakra. His mind began to race one more as he tried to devise a new plan. What bothered him the most was that the others were relying on him to take care of the spirit, and were putting their lives in the line for him.

Li’s mind rushed through all of the information his senses had gathered before, and after the blast. It was as though a light had gone off in his mind; it was the light that killed their chakra, not the explosion. The heavy Taijutsu users had taken advantage of the spirit’s lack of movement to launch a full frontal attack while the Ninjutsu users continued to try and mold their chakra.

While they continuously suffered electric shocks from striking the spirit's body, the Taijutsu users did not relent. Their bodies were ravaged, and it broke Li’s confidence, until he saw a fireball fly past his head. He immediately began to form hand seals, and threw every maroon shuriken that he created. The spirit had begun to let out roars of pain, which gave Li even more confidence.

He formed a long string of hand seals, and shot a maroon chain shot out of Li’s palm. It shot forward, and wrapped around the spirit. It roared like thunder, and took on a more discernible, almost human like form. The spirit struggled, and fought, doing it's best to try and break free. However, every time the spirit struggled the chains grew tighter, and Li could feel them draining it's power. ”We will overcome your power Raiouku! And I will bind you into my service! You were become a force to protect the very village you sought to destroy!” Li yelled over the howling wind, and though he first believed his words to be drowned out, the same thunderous laugh echoed through the land.

”Foolish mortals! Even if you stop me here today you will not stop what is coming! Your village will lie in ruins at the wrath of Raijin! The spirit's body surged like the wind, compressing and expanding at an incredible rate, until it finally broke free of Li’s chains. Though it was now about twice the size of an average human, Raiouku’s power seemed to be returning. The skies that had previously lightened with his capture had once again grew dark, and stormy, with lightning crackling in the sky. Raiouku raised his left hand into the sky, and seemed to grab a lightning bolt before throwing it at Li.

The bolt of electricity hit Li in the chest, and left him paralyzed on the ground while Miyako and the others redoubled their efforts. Li was not on the ground for very long before someone rushed to his aid. Once he was back on his feet Li began to form hand seals. Within moments a maroon chained sickle was in his hands, and he looked pissed. Li had begun to spin the sickle beside his body as he ran towards Raiouku, and had jumped into the air before he reached the spirit. Li made the chain extend as he brought it down in an overhead, arcing, attack, and then retracted it so that the sickle would rip through Raiouku’s body. He continuously attacked Raiouku in a similar fashion without relenting, though the spirit did more than his fair share of damage to Li’s body as well.

It had turned into an all out slugfest between Li and Raiouku, though Li knew that he had only lasted this long because the spirit was steadily getting weaker from using so much chakra. Not to mention the fact that Li had so many others helping him wear the thing down. As Li, again, charged Raiouku, the spirit shifted into a mass of whirling wind and blue lightning, and flew towards Li. Li’s hands flew through another set of hand seals, and his Devil’s Claws formed on his forearms and hands. He sliced through the wind tunnel with his claws, and smirked as Raiouku howled in pain. Li sliced through the wind again and again with his claws, and began to lose himself in the battle. Li’s eyes grew wide, and his face stayed stretched in a wicked grin as his body was ravaged along with the spirit's. ”You are succumbing to the beast within youngling! Are you sure you can best me mortal?! Truly you have put up a magnificent fight, however, I am eons older than you child! I have seen countless battles!”

Li could not help but fear the wild longing for destruction that was growing inside of him, but he had also begun to love it. It made him feel alive, and gave him the willpower to keep on fighting. As he clawed at Raiouku, Li tried to predict the spirit's next move, which was why he finally formed the seals to reanimate his puppets. Li had jumped behind Spike, and activated not only his barrier, but his shield plate as well. Spike’s defenses had barely held up, which allowed Li a moment to prepare his next attack.

Li formed a long string of hand seals, and, as he did so, twenty maroon senbon formed in the air around him. He then shot them through Spike’s shield plate, and into Raiouku. The thunder rolled as Raiouku roared in agony, though he was unable to move. ”This weak binding can not hold the wind! You are going to die child!” Despite the spirit's words, he was unable to break free of Li’s stasis. ”You grow weaker by the minute beast! Soon I will barely need to lift a finger to deal with you! Submit! When Miyako realized that Li had paralyzed Raiouku, she yelled for everyone to bombard the spirit. ”Hit this damn thing with everything you have! For the safety of our home let us kill this beast!”

The next thing Li saw was giant fireballs, and massive boulders flying through the air, and crashing into Raiouku. However, the thing that really surprised Li was the giant crystalline spikes that erupted from the ground, and pierced through Raiouku’s body.

With a few twitches of his fingers, Li brought Spike to his side, and caused Spike’s tail to open. This revealed a large steel capsule that was covered in Fuuinjutsu. ”You have committed crimes against my home, and my brethren. For that you will serve me forever more!” Li began forming one of the longest sets of hand seals that he knew, and gathered the last amount of chakra he could. Once Li had finished his hand seals a maroon light began to shine from the capsule. Tendrils stretched off of the capsule and wrapped around Raiouku. As the maroon light grew brighter Raiouku grew smaller, and finally disappeared. As the light from the capsule dimmed, so to did the light in Li’s eyes. Li fell unconscious just as Spike’s tail closed around the capsule.

The Eidolons, including Miyako, had not stopped cheering, until they saw Li’s lifeless body on the floor. Miyako forced a few chakra replenishing pills down his throat, and ordered her strongest comrades to carry his puppets back to the village, while she lifted Li into her arms. Thankfully the trip back to Sunagakure had been a quick and easy one, although, Li remained unconscious for a full week. The medic corps had said that he had pushed his body to the brink of death, but that Miyako’s quick actions had saved him.

As soon as Li awoke he found a summons scroll on his bedside table. It had told him to report to Akihito’s office right away, and that was exactly what he did. Once he was allowed into the councilman’s office he noticed two things; first was that his steel capsule was taking up the majority of Akihito’s desk. Second was that the man actually seemed pretty happy. ”You have done the village proud Li. You fought until your body gave out, and in the end you were able to seal the beast into this capsule. I will admit that I underestimated this thing’s power, and probably should have sent someone more experienced with you. However, you did a phenomenal job, and the other council members have agreed with me on your reward. Because you overcame adversity, and not only saved the lives of those fighting with you, but also saving the lives of those in our village by stopping this creature, we, the council of Sunagakure, award you this spirit to do with as you please. I understand that you have been studying on how to create a Tsukimogami, well I believe this spirit is worth using for such a creation.” Akihito spoke in a polite tone, and Li bowed deeply once Akihito had concluded his speech.

”Thank you councilman. This means a lot to me coming from one as great as yourself. I will take all of the necessary precautions, so that there is no chance that the spirit can escape.” Li bowed deeply once more before he had taken the capsule, and left the room. He knew exactly what he was going to do with the spirit. Li had been working on repairing Spike, and Li knew that Spike’s defensive build was the perfect host for Raiouku.

Li carried the capsule all the way back to his house, and to his puppet creation workstation, so that he could get straight to work. He had placed the capsule in the corner of his workshop, and began working on the puppet. The first thing that Li did was sand all of the wood pieces down so that they were smooth. For some reason, unknown to Li, every time he bought chakra treated wood it was rougher than the sandpaper. Once everything was nice and smooth, Li oiled all of the mechanical parts, and cleaned them vigorously with a steel wire brush.

His next step was to carve all of his Fuuinjutsu, and aesthetic designs, into the wood. This was the part that stressed Li out the most, because his hands were not always steady. Though everything turned out perfectly fine. As soon as he had finished the carving, Li sanded everything down again so that there would be no rough edges. After that he began to work on the mechanisms, starting with the ball joints for Spike’s tail. Over all just finishing the repairs took Li three days.

On the fourth day Li took his newly repaired puppet, and the steel capsule, out into the desert. Before he began to set up everything that he needed to do for the sealing, Li stabbed his four kunai into the earth, and created his barrier. He did not want to give Raiouku any chance to escape. Once the barrier was fully erected Li begun. He laid the puppet out in front of him with the Tsukimogami seal visible on the puppet’s head, and then turned to the steel capsule.

Li then began to formed a very long stream of hand seals, and mold just about every ounce of chakra he had. Once he had completed the hand seals, Li placed one hand on to the steel capsule, and the other hand onto the puppet, just over the Tsukimogami seal. The skies darkened, and thunder boomed as the essence of Raiouku left the steel capsule and moved towards the puppet. As Raiouku entered into the seal the puppet became surrounded in a protective cloak of bright blue electricity, although it quickly dissipated. However, the puppet’s stayed lit with that same bright blue color. Once the sealing of Raiouku was completed Li took out one of his shuriken, and used it to carve his Allegiance fuuin into the puppet.

Before he released the barrier Li decided to see exactly what his new puppet could do, and so he began making hand seals. Within moments his chakra strings were attached to the Tsukimogami puppet, and it was ready for the harshest of battles. Li then surged a large portion of his chakra into the puppet via his strings, and a thunderous explosion erupted from it’s mouth. Along with the thunderous explosion came an electric blue ring of light that grew to have a diameter of ten meters as it flew through the air. Once the ring of light hit Li’s barrier the barrier disappeared. His new puppet had an emp blast.
