[Plotboard] The Wrath Of An Elder Brother

Post by Gara » Fri Nov 16, 2018 10:14 pm

Xiao Li did not plan on flying into a murderous rage first thing in the morning before the sun had even broken over the horizon, but that was exactly what had happened. A close friend of his had rushed over to his place of dwelling and beat on his front door until Xiao Li opened it, and, in one long breath, explained to Xiao Li that his younger brother, Xiao Feng, had been kidnapped. Xiao Feng had been on a mission to apprehend some Chuunin level criminals that had escaped the Pit during the recent jailbreak when he was surrounded by them, and taken hostage by their Jounin leader. All reports claimed that they were planning on using Xiao Feng as a deterrent, hoping that the threat of killing him would keep them at bay, but Xiao Li did not care. His vision was solid red, and he immediately set out of the village. Xiao Li had not been involved with the apprehension of the jailbreak criminals due to his lack of combat proficiency, but with the recent upgrades to his puppets, and the recent unlocking of an apparent Kekkei Genkai that he received from his spirit father, Xiao Li was confident in his abilities to save his brother. After showing the guards at the gate of Sunagakure the mission report on his brother, Xiao Li was granted leave from the village, and is running at full speed into the desert.

The desert was an unforgiving place for tracking. Beyond the immediate borders of the village was the sands of the desert, the wind, the blazing sunlight that would press against Xiao Li's eyes. The winds were always shifting, burying any tracks that might have been available or of import to his task. Though his speed as he left the village behind made doubly certain that even if tracks were available he would not observe them. So long as he ran at full speed, he would hear nothing but the pounding of his own feet into the sand and feel the stinging of the sand on his face as the wind whipped up with his speed and rose the grains of sand to greet him harshly.

Miles would be gone by with nothing in view but the odd cacti here and there and perhaps a few rocks. Eventually of course the desert sand would begin to wane, giving way to rocks and stone. Wind Country was of course made up of three deserts, and the one in which Suna was hidden was only one of these. The sand gave way to a stone path, and ahead loomed a few buildings of a very small outpost. It was small but a well known place, housing its own little market and an inn, a place where traveling shinobi often stop to rest their head for the night or pick up a couple of supplies.

It was likely Feng would have been here during his search, and the market was full of people selling their wares. A handful of customers milled about, the inn looming near with an open door and open windows, the smell of food wafting out of it. A pair of samurai walked up and down the market, keeping an eye out for trouble. One in particular, a young woman, seemed to notice Li and his state of mind as he would inevitably step into the street. Her hand cautiously went to her sword, but still she approached him. "Is something wrong?" she asked quietly, her voice almost musical in tone.

Xiao Li immediately threw a scroll with his brother's image on it at the woman. ”This boy would have been through here recently. You will give me all of the information that you have about him, and you will do so quickly.” His tone left no room for debate despite his short stature. He had noticed her hand on her blade, but had not bothered reacting. He was on a warpath, and had the authority of Sunagakure with him. Who would dare to challenge his orders in Wind Country? Not only did he have the support of the village, but was confident that no one would be able to stop him. However, as he was speaking to the woman four more samurai of varying builds walked behind Xiao Li. These additional samurai did not intimidate Xiao Li, however, he did decide to untie his headband from around his waist, and tied it around his head. If it was a fight they wanted then that was what he would give them, but not without them knowing who they were messing with. ”I will say this only once; if you impede my search for the boy on that scroll I, a Jounin of Sunagakure, will bring the wrath of the village down on your heads.”

The woman caught the scroll with her free hand, removing her other from her sword as she unrolled it and looked it over. Out of the corner of her eye she saw the other samurai approaching and waved a single hand at them. "Move along, gentlemen, I have this handled." she stated simply, her eyes still on the scroll. She rolled it up and tossed it lightly back to Xiao Li. "I am Kuremi." she stated, introducing herself before motioning for him to follow her. "The threats are unnecessary, and take a breath. Your anger is going to blind you, I'm simply here to help." She turned and watched the market a moment before sighing. "I think I saw the man you seek, but getting the information is going to take a bit more than brute force. Just... wait here for a second? Please." The woman was doing her best to remain calm though she clearly seemed on edge a bit, either from the image or from Xiao Li's own anger. She motioned to a chair nearby as she spoke, before wandering up the market.

Up ahead was a man who stood with two imposing guards of his own, and Kuremi approached him cautiously, offering a bow before speaking to him though her words were indiscernible from where Li sat. She spoke with him for several moments before he handed her a bento box and waved her away. She gave another bow and soon returned. "Seems the boy picked a fight with one of Daichi's guards the other day. He was hurt but not badly, he told me where to find him and its going to be a short trek. I'll take you there, they don't like strangers making demands really." She held the bento box out to Li. "He asked that we give this to him when we see him, as an apology for his man taking things too far." If Li were to look in the box he would find an array of delicacy's, treats that were rarely, if ever, seen inside the walls of Suna itself.
