Situated roughly 100 kilometers west of the points where Earth Country, Wind Country and Pebble Country meet, the small border town had been in the process of being converted to a proper outpost since Wind Country had claimed the land. The town had only 18 buildings, most of which were likely older than anyone living in the town. Very jarring to the landscape however was a large outpost tower that was clearly a new addition to the region. Placed in what was previously the town center, the various buildings in the town expanded radially from where the tower was placed. The tower itself was roughly 75m in height, 30m in diameter, and appeared to be built of sleek sandstone with only a few windows at its higher levels. At the top of a tower, a large signal torch stood. The tower has 125 strength which regenerates every 3 posts if not completely destroyed.

There is little to describe in the landscape beyond the town. The land is flat in every direction. Not quite within the desert yet, but subject to the harsh weather conditions all-the-same, there is little plant life, the ground is coarse rocks and clay that is difficult to break away, giving little opportunity for agriculture. Roughly 150m north of the northern-most building, trees begin cropping up until they break away into a full forest of coniferous trees. Otherwise, there is simply nothing remarkable or noticeable about the landscape.

Ishidai travelled from the edge of the forest and into the sparsely populated treeline all the while channeling his chakra. As he reached the edge of the spotty treeline, he stopped and released it into the air. The water droplets in the air quickly condensed into a raging tidal wave that threatened any who stood in its path and raged across the barren land towards the outcropping of buildings. As it roared forward, Ishidai once more channeled his chakra and this time released it into the earth beneath his feet. With a circular wave of his naginata flowing into a stabbing motion, the former Tsuchikage shot forth a large stone bullet using a fifth of his infused material towards the large raised tower taunting them from the center of the site.

Having achieved notable mastery over Doton, the user is capable of shaping, directing, and manipulating existing bodies of the element without the need of hand seals or an existing technique. The range at which the user can manipulate the element is equal to the user's control times 2 meters. While the user can freely manipulate this element, they cannot produce the element naturally.

While the might of the northern peninsula had formed a tentative alliance during the fourth world war with the Wind Country the Lightning Empire was still less than committed to it's newfound "friend of friends". Much to Hayate's expectation the council had decided against mobilizing any of their troops for what most believed to be nothing more than "a mere border skirmish". As no spring chicken of a leader Hayate knew better than to overrule the council in these matters... On the other hand he knew that Iwagakure and their sniveling child of a leader Tatsuo was an unchecked threat.

Accompanied only by one of his aids, Tsukiko, the two bare of any marks of allegiance to their nation set out to Wind Country to fulfill the request of the Hokage.

The sand blew gently against the blue sky and the harsh desert heat. Upon the rocky bluffs and windy desert plains of Wind Country they would make a stand against the would be invaders. At the edge of the village sat Hayate, deep in mediation as his body glowed in golden magnificence. From the walls of the town would emerge a young woman with silver hair, her hands on the hilts of her small blades.

Without opening his eyes the Hayate held his hand out, pointing gently to the young woman with an open palm as was customary in their culture.

"Anyone left?"

The woman shook her head before stepping to the side of her leader, calmly stating "Evacuation complete". Through his perception he could hear the quivering of her hands at the hilt... the sounds of the blades shaking in their sheathes. It betrayed the calmness of her voice. Breaking his meditation the Raikage reached out to bestow a gift upon his aid- touching each of her swords and imbuing them with golden lightning [30 Control].

"Defend this village as you would our own-" he would say only to be interrupted by a large crashing sound of raging waters. Instantly his body came alive as he spun round on his heels and launched himself forward, his eyes locked on the massive wave forming off in the horizon. The force, the speed. His eyes moved on seemingly on their own and his ears twitched as he triangulated the force and momentum of the attack and his fingers moved furiously, first reversing his chakras polarity to yang-yin, and then beginning his counter attack.

Whoever that is- they are at least Kage level. The maps might be re-arranged here today.

Rocketing forward shortly before the tip of the incoming enemy wave, the Raikage would release his own wave with force and ferocity greater than the opponents. As it tore through the opponents wave, rendering it useless, it would force the opponents wave back on itself and crashing down with his wave, destroying the rock that was fired as the wave would now be pushing in the opposite direction towards the opponent- and unbeknownst to them Hayate's chakra would be leeching into its new water, the ground, and everything it contacted as it pushed forward.

At this range he would also now feel the opponent via his sensory.

Tsukiko would move towards Ikinari- their Sunagakure companion wherever he was, and Lii, the other defense force member, making sure that they could maintain guard.

Possessing immense perception capabilities, Hayate is cognizant of even the most subtle details around him, to a point where he can even pick up on the slightest tension changes in an opponent’s body allowing him predict their movement before it is complete or even read what someone is writing by the way the top of their pencil moves. At times his eyes seem to move on their own will, rapidly tracking an amount of movements equal to his [Instinct]/3. A downfall to this technique however is that while his eyes may be aware of movement, his body is not always capable of knowing and keeping up.

Hayate can channel chakra to coat up to two items (one per hand) that he is holding in a layer of lightning for up to 3 posts. The layer of lightning has [Control] strength. Channeling chakra into his mouth, Hayate will expel a large amount of water forming a wave nearly 50 meters tall and 50 meters wide. The wave will collapse on it's own weight, pushing forward at [Control] speed and strength and aided by gravity, slamming down on everything beneath it with furious crushing damage flooding everything in the vacinity. Upon hitting a target, if they are knocked over, the enveloping effect will additionally create a sphere of water around them. Inside the sphere, if the shinobi is unable to break out or breathe they risk drowning quickly, based on their [Endurance] stat:

Preparations were well underway, but there was little that Hizashi, Ikinari needed to do to prepare. He'd communicated to a degree with the Raikage about his abilities and moves he'd be able to use, and had spoken briefly about the same with Lii. As a diplomat, this was not the first time Ikinari had interacted with someone of importance, he sat with the Kazekage on a semi-regular basis after-all. But being among the Raikage, the Lightning Emperor! That was truly an honor. It was expected that the enemy would come from the north or the west given the position of the town, so Ikinari had placed himself at the northwestern most building, sitting on it's roof top. When the attack from Ishidai came in, he pulled his hands from behind his flak jacket, his robes flowing in the wind as he leapt from one building to the next until he was more squarely positioned.

In the time he'd taken to do so, the Raikage had began his response, and Ikinari gave out a call out to him, "Raikage-sama, please remember to avoid using Suiton techniques once I begin, it will drain your chakra to an extreme.", he would begin hand seals of his own, moving forward slowly to where Ishidai's attacks had came from, placing himself between the source and the tower, roughly 80 meters from the tower and 80 meters from the edge of the forest. The first technique he'd release was a simple mirage. It seemed whoever they were fighting was a long distance fighter, so hopefully the distortion in the air would make aiming at the tower more difficult.

The second technique he'd release would be an aura of heat radiating from his body in all directions. Immediately the Raikage would feel it, and if the opponent approached they would too, radiating in all directions the hot desert air would only worsen as Ikinari sapped all water out of the air. The opponent was a suiton user, that much had been shown. And while the Raikage was as well, he had a host of other elements under his mastery to control. Could the same be said for their opponent? And who else would rear their heads? He'd rely on the Raikage and Lii to keep him protected while they tried to get close to the opponent.

After performing the proper hand seals, the user releases Kaenton into a 20 meter radius around them, causing heat to disperse in the air within that area. This heat will cause a minor increase of up to 5 degrees Celsius, but its real strength is in the way the hot air behaves. The behavior of the heated vs. cold hair causes a Mirage field where everything's appearance is slightly distorted, leaving them unable to properly gauge distances or the size of people and objects unless they have a perception technique of the appropriate rank, this technique lasting for the next seven posts.

This tech should be 30m with jutsu range updates.

After performing the proper hand seals, the user holds the final hand seal while releasing Kaenton into the air in a 20 meter radius around him/her. After a full post of saturating the air with Kaenton, the 20 meter radius suddenly becomes hotter (by about 15 degrees celsius) and extremely dry. For the next 7 posts, all of the water in the air within that are has been further evaporated and pushed higher up to the atmosphere, making it much more inaccessible for suiton users. Whenever a suiton jutsu is performed, it now costs the user 2x as much chakra to perform that jutsu.

This tech is base 60 with range updates, being cast with 30 control so +20 to total of 80m.

The sandshark of sunagakure smiled a wicked smile, a horrible, contorted, evil grin that spread across her face in ways that would make lesser men's skin crawl. It was time, she knew, for the surge of water signalled that targets were coming to her, rather than having to be tracked down for once. A pleasant change of pace to be sure. Her body surged with chakra and she exchanged some small words with the Raikage, his companions, and Ikinari, but her mind was focused on something else. She stared out into the abandoned buildings and watched as water crashed about. Suddenly, arrows of kuuton shot forth from her hands and as the Raikage entered the fray, so too did she.

Arrows shot out from her knuckles and reached on and on until they connected with the other buildings, and in a flash Ikanbi had left the tower she had been perching on. Pulled through the air at a frightening speed, she gracefully soared through the air towards building after building, seamlessly swinging around the town as she made her way towards the Raikage and their would-be opponents. "That's a lot of water." She thought to herself as she surveyed the ground below, her eyes scanning the area for the source of the incoming wave that the Raikage had displaced so easily.

The user will channel chakra into their fist and jump, causing a kuuton arrow to form up to a meter away from their knuckles up to 10 meters in length and pointing away from the knuckles. For the next three posts the arrows will follow the movements of the users knuckles(5 on each hand) and upon coming into contact with a target will pull the user through the arrows at the target a speed and strength up to their control. Once the user has been pulled once by an arrow it disappears.

The eagle quickly picked up a shadowy man that for some reason sent another shiver down Chikara's spine, 'Oh shit, it seems like the war is on!' Chikara almost panicked at the thought and now Enzaragi and them would be fighting Zakuro, one of the most dangerous men on this planet. He had no idea who the covered man was but he still felt something off about him, though he had the former Tsuchikage on side, but still, the man was past his prime and the masked man appeared to be within his.

"There.. There is a masked ninja on our battlefield that is producing a mass amount of chakra on our battlefield, it could be a Bannin or one of the Kages... Maybe Hit or the Kazekage... Let's hope it's not the Raikage... Fuck I wish Enzaragi was here." A sigh escaped his breath as he peered over at Yasu, who seemed rather stoic as always while Wakana and Chie seemed nervous, especially since Chikara had left legendary pauldron at their outpost.

'I can't believe it came down to this...' He hated the idea that he needed them in this warfare because it was now clear as day that they were not up to scratch, hell he wasn't sure he was, but nevertheless it was far too late to turn back. 'This is war Chie, you better act right or you will be killed.', 'Don't worry about her Yasu, I will make sure she shapes up!' Chie and Wakana leaped on the back of Shiryoku as he swooped down between the trees, he flew back up in the air and quickly spotted the change in temperature around the tower, revealing that something was a foot.

"There's also some sort of heatwave created around the tower so be careful, I would guess we are dealing with a Hizashi." With that he watched how Ayuma moved to pick up Yasu and fly her up in the air while Chikara moved closer to Ishidai, he watched the beast of a man form his jutsu while he himself began to form a long set of seals. 'Eyes on away from me!'

He was rather nervous because if this one failed then he would be in a world of hurt, once the hand seals were finished he spotted Ishidai form his jutsu which were rather quickly matched by the blitzing Raikage and Lii. 'Shit, they are fast as lighting!' It didn't matter for his jutsu was ready to be cast, so once the water cleared he would reach for his flash and bell tagged kunai and tossed it above the water edge and towards the Raikage.

The user starts with a set of hand seals before tossing a kunai tagged with a Flash note and a cat bell. If the target hears bell and sees the flash explosion then they will be tagged inside the Genjutsu. The target will hear a loud noise that nauseates and see after images of everything within their eye sight. This genjutsu can cause the targets to believe that the flash notes are vastly more powerful than regular ones. Lasts for 5 posts.

Excitement simmered within Kenitsuna Ken'ichi as he stepped onto the battlefield, and he welcomed it like an old and beloved friend. He thumbed the hilt of his blade eagerly, fingers twitching with anticipation. He stepped out of the dense treeline shortly behind Ishidai. He considered it an honour to fight beside the former Tsuchikage, the man he'd once intended to replace in the role who was nontheless still a force to be reckoned with. As to the mercenary band who accompanied them... Well, they had yet to prove their mettle, but he had hopes for the young man at their head. Regardless, Ken'ichi was not about to turn away their support in the coming conflict. So long as they didn't get in the way of an honourable fight.

Ken'ichi paused beside Ishidai and, surveying the town ahead, drew the blade on his right hip. The gift of the smith clicked as the catches within the blade released, and he waited for Chuutetsu's signal to attack. He had time for a quick prayer to the Samurai before the order came. It came in the form of a torrential wave of water as the man beside him channeled, following it afterwards with a bullet of doton. Ken'ichi was already moving as the bullet began to form, charging towards the town hidden behind the cover of the rushing water and in the shadow of the bullet.

Suddenly the wave erupted as another one, larger and seemingly even more powerful, appeared ahead and contested it. The two opposing walls of water collided into a cascading surge. The incoming wave won the exchange, though was considerably weakened after absorbing the force of Ishidai's attack. Ken'ichi raised his blade high, tensed, and slashed across the incoming wall of water with his considerable strength. His sword, extending mid-strike from the momentum of the swing, separated the wall in a wide horizontal arc ahead of him with such force that a high pressure shockwave erupted outwards from the swing, blasting away all the water within ten feet of Ken'ichi and spraying it harmlessly away to the sides of him. Separating the wave in such a manner ensured that his two allies, behind him, would be within a dry arc.

As the waters separated, Ken'ichi's smile grew wider. An enemy, surrounded by a nimbus of golden chakra, stood right there ahead of him, and wide open. And what an enemy; even without any obvious markings of allegience, the Raikage's face was known across the world. Focusing on his new opponent, he adjusted his grip and charged the final few steps into striking range, raising his blade and slashing vertically downwards in an attempt to cleave the man in twain with a vicious strike. His muscles screamed at the pent up force, and after delivering the first strike he unleashed the energy in a staggering follow-up, almost instantaneously slashing diagonally downwards again across the man's neck and torso...

Momentarily torquing the muscles in their arms, shoulders and back, the practitioner channels that force into a wide, powerful swing. This swing, aside from being plenty deadly in its own right, produces a twisting horizontal pressure wave measuring ten feet in diameter which travels at a Speed and for a number of meters equal to the practitioner’s Strength and strikes with a force equal to 2/3 the practitioner’s Strength, rounded down. This twister is able to pick up water, dirt, fire, and small debris, potentially increasing the damage the pressure wave can cause.

Ken has learned to skillfully calculate the distances between himself and any object of his focus at a glance, despite only having one eye. This allows him to determine quickly and easily how far he needs to move in order to make an attack or avoid an enemies attack, allowing for a great amount of utility in battle.

After focusing his thoughts for half a post, Ken is able to enter into a trance of sorts. This trance allows him to focus so entirely on a single opponent that all actions made by the opponent seem to be at 2/5ths of their usual speed. This trance effectively allows Ken to react at an entirely inhuman speed, seemingly countering blows before they have even begun. This trance can be maintained indefinitely.

Prerequisite(s): 30 Strength, 30 Speed.
Momentarily torquing every single muscle in their body, the practitioner generates an immense amount of force in their body. Then, after launching a preliminary attack, the pent up force is released, causing the practitioner to instantaneously launch a second attack at their maximum speed, essentially landing two attacks in the same time frame it would normally take to launch one. In order to defend against this attack, the opponent must have equal or higher Endurance than the practitioner's Strength. Otherwise, this double-attack will rend through the opponent's defenses, possibly even breaking weapons and armor as the attack cleaves the opponent or runs them through.

The mercenary group they'd hired to help bolster their forces were proving to come in handy just from the intel alone. Not only had the Hokage come to defend their closest allies but the Raikage had also marshalled himself to the fight. This border dispute had jumped from just that to the start of a new world war.

What a time to be alive.

Ishidai left Chikara to his own devices and Ken had begun to move before the former Tsuchikage had even fired the Doton bullet off. However the older Kage was glad after seeing the aftermath of his opening move. Another wave had crashed through his own and Ken had slashed the remaining force of the oncoming jutsu to bits before it could even interact with his infused Doton bullet. The water of the two Suiton jutsu began to rapidly seep into the desiccated earth below their feet after Ken had destroyed it and with the help of Chikara's intel from moments before, Ishidai was able to see that the man Ken was focused on was the Raikage himself. Ishidai let the spear slip from his grip and stab into the ground at his feet as he pulled his arms apart and separated the 12m of infused material into 10 smaller masses as they closed in on Hayate's form and with another motion closed his right fist and swept his right arm downwards. Five of the chunks would attempt to bind the Raikage's limbs and neck in place following Ken's movements towards him through the hazy air to better ensure they found purchase.

The other five masses of infused material continued onwards towards Ikinari before Ishidai also repeated the same motion with his left hand and attempted to also bind his limbs and neck in stone albeit the hazy air surrounding the man made the elder unsure it would do its job. Once both of his arm movements were complete, Ishidai followed up with a side kick to send another fifth of infused material towards the incoming opponents.

Tsukiko would keep up with Ikinari, staying close to him and at the ready, swords now drawn.

At the front of the allied forces and before the clashing mighty waves was the Raikage, whose form loosened as he began to shift backwards. From his closer position, the much clearer sensory afforded to him by the Starforce would give him a clear image of what lay behind the waves; three foes. His mind filled in the rest; at least everyone here was Jounin level and the ninjutsu user was a Bannin.

These folks were just strong enough that if he were to go all out he'd be burning up valuable chakra, but also strong enough that if it came to a battle of attrition where he had to focus on protecting his comrades, he'd also burn up chakra. In either case regardless the outcome was that he would be left less effective for other battlefields elsewhere... and Tatsuo and Kota would sure be elsewhere.

Tsch. It seemed that snot-nosed brat of a leader in Iwagakure had matured into quite the strategist.

At any rate, standing there with his pants down was a less-than-ideal situation, so he would stay light on his feet. Prancing on the balls and toes of his feet he carried himself both elegantly and powerfully. The saddest part being the art of his form was wasted- the Raikage likely appeared like an eclectic blur to most, though it made him hard to target.

He could feel one person moving particularly fast toward the wave. The Raikage began to channel his chakra into the ground beneath him, activating his kinesis. The figure stopped, only for a tremendous pressure wave to blow through the remains of his counter-attack. His eyes immediately locked on Ken, who bounded forward for him. He could feel the excitement of a true warrior. It was a shame that they needed to be enemies today.

As the man's muscles torqued and his clothing and armor contorted to dash forward Hayate would watch him like a hawk. Every foot plant he lunged. Every motion was telegraphed. He did not know this man, but he was slow. Much slower than Hayate. And in choosing to close the gap and come to Hayate to strike at melee range, he had also placed himself on the unholy ground where Hayate's water had seeped into the ground and infused.

Waiting for the right moment to strike and disengage, Hayate would bring his arm up with his hand in a claw motion as Ken would plant his foot and take his arm back to build torque. In this motion, 5 spike-like claws of the earth would emerge from the ground beneath Ken's feet in a twisting motion. With such a small distance, the target's low speed, and his prone positioning Hayate would aim to drive one spike immediately through the man's foot, one from behind, at each flank, and then one massive spike that would come from the front, represented by his thumb, straight up into the way of his sword, blocking his swing by the sword and hopefully damaging the blade itself.

Simultaneously Hayate would disengage, leaping backward- his arm still outstretched, but his hand closing to form a tighter grip around what would be Ken. As the Raikage disengaged, his other hand would rise up, using his foot strike in tandem to send five of his own rocks "up" into the incoming attacks to intercept them. Each step, strike, and swing of his arm would be used to will stones from the earth, smashing away the incoming rocks from his opponent.

In the midst of all the flurry, however, a flash tag would go off, blinding the Raikage... though the bell would not be heard beneath the sounds of crashing waves, the earth ripping from the ground itself, and everything else that was going on. The Raikage would disengage as far back as he could, aiming to fall back behind Ikinari and Yukiko with his immense speed, while channeling to form a second cloak in the form of a layer of lightning over his body.

Tsukiko was ready. Her blades would swing as the rocks would come for her and Ikinari. With her own strength and the lightning imbued on her swords she would attempt to strike at them in an arcing motion from the side, the lightning penetrating the earth as her blades struck the rock. No sooner than she, and assumedly Ikinari would defend themselves, would her eyes continue to scan the horizon and lock onto the third individual- she'd catch a glimpse of an outstretched hand, and be thrown into a genjutsu. She'd begin to feel herself falling.

Utilizing his extraordinary speed, acrobatic prowess, and perception in combat Hayate takes a "prancing" stance similar to that of a ballet dancer. This stance allows him to stay light on his feet never quite touching or staying on the ground for long while also keeping his motion "perpetual" and allowing him to move in extremely sudden and precise movements. Simply put, those attempting to strike him or defend against him are caught off guard by his sudden movements and their attempts will suffer a -6 speed debuff against his movement. Those with high level techniques and skills in perception can be less perceptible to this.

Humans follow patterns and in combat this is no exception, ranging from taijutsu to hand seals. Patterns already being easier to remember, Hayate has worked hard at actively committing whatever he sees to his short-term memory. This allows him to remember things such as the beginning torque to a kick or a hand seal pattern after seeing it once, so that he can recognize the technique if used later in a battle, giving him an advantage in anticipating his opponents next action and effectively making an opponent’s consecutive usage of a technique a liability.

The wave came crashing down, and a series of attacks followed. Everyone on the battlefield was moving at spectacular speeds, Ikinari realizing how outclassed he truly was. What a battle this would be. But if they could capture at least one of the opponents in a heat field, they'd be able to take the advantage quite quickly and move the Raikage to the next battle field.

One of the opponents had launched an attack forward at Ikinari, and with a quick series of hand seals he thrust his hands forward, a wall of Kuuton energy forming in front of him with [35 Strength] at [29 Speed]. Between the haze of the heat and the kuuton wall, he took several staggered steps backwards and to the left, aiming to let them fly by him if they penetrated the kuuton wall. Fortunately, Tsukiko's attack (while not enough to destroy the attack) would be enough to lock them in the wall if the strikes landed.

His eyes fell to Chikara, who appeared to be assisting Ken in the fight directly against the Raikage. Ikinari was confident the Raikage could win any battle in a 1 on 1, perhaps even a 2 on 1, but no harm in evening out the odds. Sealing once more he would reach out towards Chikara, activating a technique to pull Chikara towards them with [32 Strength], "Tsukiko-sama, now would be the time to strike.", he instructed her quickly. If Chikara was weaker than the technique, Tsukiko would have an opening to strike.

With her off hand Lii reached around to her back and grabbed her double-ended spear and then tossed it forwards into the air, using her other hand to swing around and connect a Kuuton arrow to it, causing her to suddenly change directions and be sent flying through the air towards the enemies. Mid air, she began to perform hand seals, building up a large mass of Kuuton, Acid, and Sand chakra into it and began to aim it when an exceptionally bright flash tag popped in her field of vision. Ugh, that doesn't feel right, she thought to herself. In a daze, she fired the orb of condensed chakra at what she had assumed to be the nearest enemy, though with her vision being so screwy from the flash tag she wasn't quite sure she would hit the mark The orb finto the space above Hayate and Ken and she struggled to keep her eyes on it, not entirely sure whether or not it was even within range of her target when she decided to detonate it, but she thought it was at least close enough. It began to expand to its full size, arrows of Kuuton, acid, and sand flying about in every direction from its center. If anyone were to caught by this, friend or foe, it would certainly not be a pleasant experience.

After forming the necessary hand seals or channeling, the user will fire off a condensed orb made of arrows of Kuuton, Sand, and Acid chakra up to 60 meters away at [control] strength and speed, travelling for as long as they hold the last seal. At the end of its range, or when the seal is let go, the orb will expand outwards to its full size, opening up and causing arrows made of Kuuton, Sand, and Acid (appearing to be made of black and pink sand) pointing into the center to expand outwards in every direction (in a 30 meter radius) at a speed of [control]. Anything touched by these arrows will be moved at [control] speed to the center, being dragged through sand and acid the entire duration. The orb can remain for up to 3 posts before being detonated and the resulting arrows will linger for 6 posts.

Violence and it was nothing like they where used to, the level of impact was out of this world, the companions saw the flash tagged Kunai fly towards and above and as the tag exploded they knew that things were now in motion. Shiryoku flew towards the giant crashed wave that was split in half by Ken's massive strike, the eyes of the hive mind was scanning the battlefield and once they locked on to the swinging Lii hands were quick to form, Chie and Wakana both had a task to perform, Ayuma kept an eye on Ikinari who seemed to protect himself from incoming boulders, this gave Wakana intel on his abilities.

Two out of four enemies have the ability to control gravity, this should be interesting. Wakana was nervous because she knew that if she failed to perform in time then Chikara would be in danger for once his eyes locked with Ikinari, she knew that things were in motion.

I'm targeting the swinging woman, Wakana focus on the Hizashi.

Chikara who himself channeled chakra locked eyes with Ikinari and kept eye contact, felt his body being lifted and pulled towards the man who had seemingly cast a heatwave around himself, his eyes would twirl and if Ikinari still looked him in the eyes as he was pulled then he would soon feel how his shadow crawled up towards his stomach and began to pull his soul out of his body, terror would soon consume his mind unless he either had the will to fight through it.

Chie watched how Lii was not only affected by the genjutsu but how her attack expanded and enveloped a large portion of the battlefield, it seemed like a terrifying attack that would consume anything it touched, nevertheless her hands was in the air just as the jutsu had been cast and her mind would travel into Lii where the two would fight for control over the body, her true body would slump on top of Shiryoku who kept his pace from the massive wave and the black death jutsu.

Wakana finished the set of hand seals right as Chikara was pulled and reached out to grab Ikinari in return, utilising the same jutsu and would pull him towards her at a stronger speed/strength. Chikara slammed into the ground, then slid before being lifted in to the air, he began forming a set of hand seals and then released Slither, the shadow blade slithered towards Shiryoku who opened it's claw containing the bangle, causing the sword to pass Ikinari's path, which in turn would freeze his body in place as the two were now shadow linked.

I'm so sick of having to save you all the time!

Yasu on top of Ayuma would fly towards Ikinari's flight path and leap out of the air and attempt to slice the man in half midair in order to stop his hold of Chikara, who was wildly swinging around due to Ikinari's hand changing positions.

As if they were dying, they feel that their chakra and strength is drawn in, that the black goo is what is keeping them alive. Control allows them to control movement, speech, and jutsu control based off of the restrictions of the Yamanaka. It should be noted that any damage the possessed opponent suffers will be reflected on the Yamanaka's original body. Taking to the sky, the practitioner jumps off of the ground, engaging their weapon in a ferocious spin. The practitioner can choose to complete this technique in one of three ways: a powerful diving swing or thrust, a somersaulting overhead strike, or a midair dodge by swinging the weapon in any single direction and allowing the momentum generated by the weight of the weapon and the swing to carry them in that direction. Due to the sheer momentum of this technique, if the practitioner's Strength is higher than the opponent's Endurance, any armor or weapon used to defend against this technique will be rendered ineffective, either by being rent from the opponent's hand or broken outright. This technique is not as effective when performed with a normal sword or katana.

Ken's attention, focused on the Raikage before him, did not waver in the least during his assault. And to his enhanced eyes it seemed as if the Raikage were moving through syrup, despite the fact that the man could move considerably quicker than Ken's body itself could react to. Nevertheless, he could track the man's movements easily, and even follow the odd prancing nature of his stride, though he was too enamoured by the fight to crack a reactionary smile at that. He saw clearly the man beginning to channel into the ground beneath them, watched his eyes as they focused, saw him reach out a hand in a deliberate and calculated motion, with fingers pointing up as if grasping or clawing at something unseen. And even had he not known the Raikage's reputation, his actions thus far on the field were sign enough that he was a ninjutsu user of considerable ability. But what did his motion mean? It looked as if he were simply holding something invisible, or perhaps beckoning. An attack from behind, maybe? Or from beneath?

Ken shook his head and stepped forward again, readying the blade to strike. It didn't really matter what the man was doing; the result was the same. His target was ahead, and he was already beginning his own swing. An attack from behind was only a distraction, and his blade would not be swayed. At that moment, however, a spear of rock lanced up from the ground and pierced directly through Ken's leading foot. The unexpected pain shook him even as he began to connect the emerging rocks to the shape of the Raikage's raised fingers. While Ken's eyes were able to keep up with the man, his own body couldn't match the raw speed. The other grasping spears of rock from behind would find him and make contact, but luckily he was already mid-swing towards the Raiakge, and needed no redirection to strike twice at the attack coming from ahead. His sword met the rock thrust once, parrying, and then he unleashed the wound-up tension in his arm to strike again, shattering it and swinging through, right at...

...at... Ken finally faltered, seeing the Raikage step away and retreat before his blow. That was an even worse turn of events than the man's counterattack—instead of facing him like an honest foe, the Lightning Emperor was turning tail and fleeing Ken's sword before even really facing it. His brow furrowed in confusion and disappointment. Why would he do such a thing?

Perhaps he was prescient, because a moment later a ball of something black and pink emerged from one of the Raikage's allies and soared through the sky towards and above him, clearly aimed elsewhere but passing nearby. Probably attacking Ishidai or the mercenary, Ken thought momentarily, and turned his attention back to the Raikage. Although he'd love to help protect his comrades, right now he had other things to worry about, facing off as he was against the Raikage and his accursed ninjutsu tricks—or so he thought, right up until the sun went out. The skies overhead blackened suddenly with a rapidly expanding array of pink-black arrows, all bristling from a central point hovering in the air. The epicentre wasn't directly overhead—if anything, it seemed to be somewhere in the air between himself and the Raikage—but the arrows stretched far, and fast, and it was all Ken could do to try and sidestep in vain before one lanced down and touched his left arm.

Immediately, as if the arrow were a fish hook lodged into his bones, he was hoisted up and into the air. He gave a strangled grunt as his feet and legs were roughly pulled free from the grasp of the Raikage's earthen spikes—avoiding the follow-up crushing motion of the rocks—before he was helpless to the pull of the technique. The arrows turned out to be coarse sand, of a sort, and he could feel their horrible grinding—and burning?—as he got pulled higher and higher. One consolation, though, was that the nefarious technique did not seem to care about its targets, and there seemed little chance for the Raikage to escape its clutches either given all of their positions and speeds.

Ken gritted his teeth and groaned at the pain, but kept his one eye open as he rose higher and higher into the sky. This technique did give him one hell of a vantage, despite the obvious price. He regrettably released his grip on his sword and let it fall, then sent his hands diving into pouch and pocket and sending wave after spinning wave of shuriken and kunai—some with tagged explosives—at the Raikage and the caster of this new technique below him.

This trance allows him to focus so entirely on a single opponent that all actions made by the opponent seem to be at 2/5ths of their usual speed. This trance effectively allows Ken to react at an entirely inhuman speed, seemingly countering blows before they have even begun. This trance can be maintained indefinitely.

Momentarily torquing every single muscle in their body, the practitioner generates an immense amount of force in their body. Then, after launching a preliminary attack, the pent up force is released, causing the practitioner to instantaneously launch a second attack at their maximum speed, essentially landing two attacks in the same time frame it would normally take to launch one. In order to defend against this attack, the opponent must have equal or higher Endurance than the practitioner's Strength. Otherwise, this double-attack will rend through the opponent's defenses, possibly even breaking weapons and armor as the attack cleaves the opponent or runs them through.

Ken is hit by the terrakinesis attacking his foot/legs and is then pulled away by Lii's technique, suffering the first post of (2x deranked) acid and sand passives while throwing 6x shuriken, 4x kunai with explosive tags attached, and 2x kunai with flash tags attached at Hayate, and 12x senbon at Lii, all at 45str/spd.

From close to Ishidai's own position, the mercenary leader was sucked towards the direction his second bind attempt had been launched with a shimmer of chakra. The others apart of the mercenary crew also launched into action to better assist their leader. Seeing his attempt had failed and Chikara was now to deal with them, he'd let the band of mercenaries prove their worth. Hopefully they'd be more than enough to take out two jounin.

Meanwhile, Ken's attack was defended against by the Raikage's own terrakinesis before another set of movements generated projectiles to counter Ishidai's first bind attempt as a flash tag went off next to the pair. As the flash tag went off, another jutsu from the most airborne Suna shinobi was fired off and the Raikage shifted his momentum from attack to retreat. The jutsu fired off by the incoming Suna shinobi rocketed towards the pair before exploding and expanding into a storm of swirling black-pink arrows that rained down over them. Ken was caught quickly and Ishidai clicked his tongue in annoyance before using his now-free hand to split the bullet into two. A 2m portion of the bullet broke off and flew upwards at the edge of the storm to act as an object for Ken to substitute to while the other portion of it followed upwards as a platform for Ken to land on afterwards.

His body glowed brightly with chakra before he slammed his palm on the ground in front of him in the direction of the retreating Hayate. The ground violently shook as it tore apart in a straight line across the battlefield towards the Lightning Shadow spitting dangerously large rocks and other debris everywhere as it did so. Even if Hayate was able to avoid both the friendly fire from his own allies and the fault line erupting towards him, the fault line would continue through the town towards the Tower. Ken had been struck by his counter and also by the gravity well, the man was still alive albeit wounded while Chikara was dealing with the other jounin and Hayate had been put on the back foot. Things were going just better than he had hoped but the more chakra and time he was able to force the opposition to spend, the better.

Said to have split even mountains, after performing the correct hand seals the user will slam their palm down on the ground. Their chakra will violently rend the ground tearing it apart in 80 meter line 40 speed and 50 strength. The tearing is 5 meters wide and 7 meters deep, shooting dangerous rubble, rock, and everything on the ground into the surrounding air during the technique. Over all this causes great destruction and being even near the path of this technique is quite dangerous. @ 45 Control, should be 160m due to inaccurate archive size + 10m for total of 170m

Boy what a busy battlefield this was! Ikinari had little time to think, this was mostly instinct, so he could not dwell on how much he'd love to be able to sit back and observe this momentous occasion. As he had reached towards his foe, Lii had launched an attack clearly composing of Kuuton into the sky not too far from his own position, and directly between the trajectory he'd just reached for Chikara. He watched it into the sky for only a moment, wondering why his ally would put him in such a precarious position...it was quite rude if he was honest. Regardless, there was danger before him and he'd need to retreat. In the mere moments after casting a technique he'd hoped would have allowed an enemy to be taken out, the entire trajectory of the battle had changed and Ikinari turned his back to his opponents, leaving his arm stretched out behind him to continue to pull Chikara towards him like a dog he was on a leash.

He'd attempt to run, aiming to escape the range of Lii's technique, only to find that some other force was pulling him. He'd continue to pull against it, until he recognized that it was likely the same jutsu he was using now. How unfortunate. However, there was one good thing about it. Just as much as he was now in range of Lii's bomb, it seemed now that also his ensnared target was. Forming hand seals as he was sucked towards the orb, he would twist his body to turn back to the woman who had just targeted him, throwing his hand forward at her and launching forward an attack at [40 speed]. Fortunately, Ikinari was pretty good at establishing distances and how fast people were moving, and could pretty accurately aim, even in a situation like this. It would be a difficult technique to dodge given how much faster it was moving than the bird Wakana rode, and when it landed it would choke her with [24 Strength] and little option to prevent it from choking her to death. And with that, Ikinari would surrender himself to Lii's own attack, unless something would save him from being grinded by the sand and acid.

Ikinari has trained himself to be constantly aware of ranges, allowing him to immediately assess the distance between himself and anything within 30m of himself. This allows him to appropriately and always accurately establish distances for techniques, and also establish the ranges for attacks he sees.

Ikinari has trained himself to rate speeds mid-combat with small amounts of information. While this doesn’t let Ikinari establish the actual speed stat, he is able to immediately perceive when someone is moving at max-speed, and if the rate they’re moving at is faster, or slower, than his own max speed.

Ikanbi of the sands took a moment to stare around the battlefield and blink a few times. Her eyes adjusted a bit from the gruesome flash tag and she swung her polearm and her entire body around mid-air, causing an arrow of kuuton to grab her and take her straight towards where Ikinari had been a moment before. She turned on her heel and began swinging her polearm around, spinning it around her body in a circle before sending outwards a righteous beam of kuuton that shot towards Ikinari eventually, after a few moments of seeing whether or not he would shoot himself out of the black hole technique. Li waited until once he had attempted to further ensnare his own target, then pulled on the threads of Kuuton she had created, willing them to grasp Ikinari and yank him back towards her and to safety. "Sorry, I got you!" She said as she sent the arrow out to grab him, but her eyes began to look else where, scanning the rest of the battlefield and taking in what everyone was doing as she became more adjusted. She was retired after all.

Her eyes settled on a particular shinobi as the ground began to split, and Ikanbi let out a long sigh, suddenly slinging herself forwards through the air as she tunnel visioned onto her target, channeling chakra throughout her body as her grappling arrows continued to pull her around the area. She zigg zagged towards Ishidai, but not terribly close, she just used the momentum of the arrows she had left on each of her gauntlets to zoom forwards just a bit, then finally release an amount of built up chakra towards him, firing it off forwards as her hands pulled her backwards, sending out the mass of Kuuton, Acid, and Sand towards Ishidai and detonating it when it got somewhat close and causing arrow to expand outwards, so many arrows that they didn't particularly even really resemble arrows anymore, it was more like gazing at a black and pink star.

At the end of its range, or when the seal is let go, the orb will expand outwards to its full size, opening up and causing arrows made of Kuuton, Sand, and Acid (appearing to be made of black and pink sand) pointing into the center to expand outwards in every direction (in a 30 meter radius) at a speed of [control]. Anything touched by these arrows will be moved at [control] speed to the center, being dragged through sand and acid the entire duration. The orb can remain for up to 3 posts before being detonated and the resulting arrows will linger for 6 posts.

Chikara couldn't believe his luck, things grew out of hand before he had truly managed to get full control over the layout. The mercenaries' hands were quick to form a set of seals as he saw himself get pulled towards the deathtrap released by Lii. 'Yasu I need your help!' Chikara the quick thinker planted his foot down as he leapt in the air as he was pulled towards the arrow.

Yasu, grunting placed her weight on the left side of Ayuma, steering the owl away from the pulling zone, once they found themselves outside the zone, she would reach for her sword and hold it out before releasing it. 'You owe me!'

Right as he made contact with it a large puff of smoke would overtake the ninja and Yasu's massive sword would switch places with Chikara. Landing on the owls back, the mercenary would be quick to form another set of hand seals, Yasu followed suit as she was now pissed that her father's sword was being entangled with Lii's technique. 'I'm sorry friend!' Yasu ignored him and finished her set of seals before Chikara, the owl would shatter into 90 clones, each taking off in various direction.

The real owl would fly in a pincher move in the opposite direction of the eagle, as the duo on top prepared to attack the undefended tower while Lii and Ikinari seemed to focus on targeting Ishidai. 'I am aiming to daze Hayate, Yasu, Wakana, Chie, focus on the tower' Chikara reached for his second Kunai tagged with a flash note and bell, this time tossing it towards Hayate, as the kunai left his hand, he would let his doujutsu go to rest in order to gain some Will power as he knew that if he dealt with Hayate and didn't maximize his potential then his genjutsu would be almost useless. The owl would fly around 40 meters to the west of the tower and about 25 meters above it in the air. Yasu would as they got closer to the tower reach in Chikara's pouch and toss five kunai at the base of the tower, 2 of the kunai were tagged with explosive notes combined with flash notes and 1 was an explosive attatched with a bell before Ayuma would fly 50 meters away from the tower as this team prepared to leave the battlefield.

On the opposite end of the arrow was Shiryoku and company, Chie had begun to travel back to her mind and would soon find herself reawakening next to Wakana who had managed to grasp her target, what came next shocked the hive mind, the mad lad had forced a set of seals and turned around to choke Wakana. With quick thinking she would push her hand towards the arrow, but Lii had managed to grab Ikinari with their own jutsu and pulled the target out of her grasp. The force from Ikinari's jutsu could be felt around Wakana's neck, the pressure put her in great danger, Shiryoku not wanted to dance around the danger anymore would swoop downwards and fly in a pincher move towards the tower, flying in the opposite direction of the owl and would find itself with its team around 45 meters east of the tower and 30 meters above the air.

'I am being choked! After this jutsu I'm out! '

Chie tossed two kunai towards the tower, one with an explosive note and the other with a smoke bomb, while Wakana's hands were clenched together, slowly opening up as they revealed the gravity ball created between her hands. She dropped the gravity ball as she fought to keep breathing, Chie gently holding her while Shiryoku focused on flying 60 meters away from the tower as the ball began to suck everything within its vicinity, chunks of rocks and pieces of the tower would soon be consumed by the ever-growing moon.

The target will hear a loud noise that nauseates and see after images of everything within their eye sight. This genjutsu can cause the targets to believe that the flash notes are vastly more powerful than regular ones. Lasts for 5 posts.

If the genjutsu user ever needs to run, this is the ideal technique to use. The target simply has to see the owl take flight after the user has performed the hand seals. If the target saw the wing flap, the genjutsu caster will suddenly split into 90 "clones." This will allow the genjutsu caster to fly away amidst the confusion, as the mass of clones run in every single direction at a speed of 20. Of course, touching one of these "clones" will cause them to disperse in a cloud of smoke, but they will do everything in their power to avoid making contact. If the clones aren't touched, the jutsu lasts for up to 5 posts.

After performing the correct hand seals, the user will concentrate kuuton chakra into a space between their two hands which will appear as a black sphere about the size of a baseball. The user will then raise the gravity until the sphere is in the air, up to 160 meters away from the user. From there, anything within a 60 metre radius of area beneath that sphere will be lifted toward it with [Control] strength. This causes the earth to crack and splinter into several pieces before rising, potentially crushing any humans that are caught in its radius. This occurs over the course of 4 posts, at the end of which will be produced an orb of earth approximately 75 metres in diameter.

Ken'ichi hung above the battle like a chained god, staring down at the carnage. In a few short seconds the fighting had rapidly evolved from the tenative, testing opening jabs and into a passionate and malicious exchange. Oh, to be young. The Great Leveler would smile when the day was done, with many of those below him among the sacred dead.

His first wave of six projectiles suddenly froze in the air after being thrown, splayed out ahead of his fingers but interrupted in their flight as if seized by invisible hands. Then they began rising alongside him, all being pulled towards the heart of the kuuton sphere. He stopped throwing immediately, leaving all of the explosive tags intact, and looked down to see his sword also rising just beneath him. It had only dropped a couple of feet before also being snared in the insidious technique. He carefully kicked out with one damaged leg and nudged the blade upwards to where he could grasp it again. All the while, his wounds from the piercing doton, and now the vibrant acid-sand arrow, dug into him and sent small pools and reels of blood out to hover in the air around him, red tendrils and bubbles floating in his midst.

First things first. The strange gravitational pull was something he couldn't see or target, but the spear of pinkish acid-sand boring into him was tangible enough. Raising his sword, he slashed across it once, twice, three times, repeating until his blade tore through the strange substance and released him. He was still suspended in the air, but at least now he could do so without being burned and ground away into a bloody pulp. He had wounds enough as it was. Next came the kunai he'd thrown. Although they were now moving at the same speed as him, making them relatively stationary from his perspective, he and they were rapidly converging to a single point at the heart of the gravity well. They may not have much force behind them, but his weapons were maintained with a razor's edge, and they'd spear him like a pincushion all the same. Luckily, he had some reach. He began a spinning motion with his sword, his mastery of the blade evident in his ability to perform the manoeuvre even while airbourne, and forcefully deflected each kunai but the last, staggering the hits just slightly, then speared his sword tip through the last kunai's ring hilt and drew it back towards him, safely recovering the dagger. Each of the hit kunai initially bounced away from his sword—just slightly, since the force pulling them all upwards was still greater—but soon enough each resumed its convergance to the middle of the technique. Except now they were coming one by one since each was deflected at slightly different times. As each one returned within reach, he repeated the recovery, and soon enough he floated in the heart of the kuuton sphere with all his weapons safely caught and returned to their holsters. What a stupid move it'd been to try throw something out!

Searching around, he saw Ishidai raising a small platform of doton nearby, perhaps to try and catch him, but try as he might, Ken couldn't focus chakra into the rock. Ishidai's own infusion prevented any simple substitution. Perhaps it was not meant to be. With nothing else he could do, he resigned himself to quite literally hang out in the clutches of the gravity sphere above the battle, giving his wounds a moment to recover naturally while watching the fray unfold. Before long, however, he saw others fall victim to its clutches. One by one, it seemed that both their mercenary leader and one of the Suna ninja were pulled into its range, before the Nara lad whisked himself to safety. He tried to see if Hayate, last seen below him and within range, was also caught, but Ken had to avert his eyes from some flash tags and couldn't see the Raikage.

Well, Ken mused, raising his blade and waiting at the heart of the gravity well, you've got to do what you can. As soon as either Ikinari, Tsukiko, or Hayate were pulled within range to the heart of the gravity well, if any were, he'd unleash a powerful double-attack and attempt to splice them in twain, repeating the combo for each target that reached him.

This does not offer any protection against the actual damage caused by attacks that successfully land on the practitioner, only their ability to immediately push through the pain through force of will and carry out their own attacks and counterattacks.

After much training with grappling, clinching, blocking, deflecting, and parrying weapons, the practitioner gains skin as sturdy as rock, allowing them even more avenues for defense and attack. This Discipline represent's the practitioner's body conditioning for toughening their skin all over their bodies, especially on their hands. This makes the practitioner's skin harder to cut or penetrate, and it allows the practitioner to perform normally self-destructive feats, such as blade catches, without needlessly harming themselves.

The practitioner will engage their weapon in a continuous spin, the weapon spinning in multiple directions so as to cover the practitioner on all sides. This seemingly chaotic series of spins actually serves as a simultaneous defense and offense for the practitioner, allowing them to both defend against an opponent's attacks and projectiles as well as rush the opponent with a flurry of alternating strikes from a variety of angles. The practitioner can maintain this technique for a number of posts equal to their Strength stat.

Momentarily torquing the muscles in their arms, shoulders and back, the practitioner channels that force into a wide, powerful swing. This swing, aside from being plenty deadly in its own right, produces a twisting horizontal pressure wave measuring ten feet in diameter which travels at a Speed and for a number of meters equal to the practitioner’s Strength and strikes with a force equal to 2/3 the practitioner’s Strength, rounded down. This twister is able to pick up water, dirt, fire, and small debris, potentially increasing the damage the pressure wave can cause.

Prerequisite(s): 30 Strength, 30 Speed.
Momentarily torquing every single muscle in their body, the practitioner generates an immense amount of force in their body. Then, after launching a preliminary attack, the pent up force is released, causing the practitioner to instantaneously launch a second attack at their maximum speed, essentially landing two attacks in the same time frame it would normally take to launch one. In order to defend against this attack, the opponent must have equal or higher Endurance than the practitioner's Strength. Otherwise, this double-attack will rend through the opponent's defenses, possibly even breaking weapons and armor as the attack cleaves the opponent or runs them through.

River Splitting is used as the preliminary attack for Titan's Crushing Grip for any opponents who are pulled within range of Ken while they're all caught within Lii's Forbidden Jutsu: Gravity Acid Sand Well

The rent earth and its explosion of rubble, rock, and debris had continued under the path of the retreating Raikage and towards the Tower in the distance before affecting both of them. The Tower shook as the fautline struck the edge of it and the ground opened up beneath it which caused the structure to dip towards Shiryoku and begin to slide into the crack in the earth. The fautline had similarly opened up beneath the retreating Hayate and attempted to swallow him up while forcefully spitting out its load of boulders and other debris.

As the faultline rumbled through the battlefield, Ishidai peeked at Chikara and was almost flabbergasted by what he saw. Besides Ken, a large sword and one of the Suna Shinobi had also been caught by the jutsu. A male with red hair was drug nearly halfway through it before the second Suna Shinobi, a female, had cast another jutsu to save the red head. The first Suna shinobi had stopped in mid air and hung there as the two Kuuton jutsu fought for control while the original caster began to zig and zag in Ishidai's direction along the edge of the massive sandstorm which had developed from the forces generated from the first jutsu.

Ken was caught. The Raikage was pressing on him. This other Suna Shinobi was now as well. The Mercenaries were on the complete opposite sides of the field.

Ishidai made the decision to be done here and immediately swirled his palm facing downwards to raise the ground he was standing on and infused with into a disc and then thrust his arm backwards as the woman continued to zig and zag. He shot backwards holding onto the spear stuck into the ground to steady himself and towards the direction from whence they came as the ball of elements was fired off and it wasn't nearly as accurate as what the old shinobi had been expecting. It struck the ground some distance short of where he had been and the rock carried Ishidai backwards in a full retreat.

The range at which the user can manipulate the element is equal to the user's control times 2 meters. While the user can freely manipulate this element, they cannot produce the element naturally.

Tsukiko had tried to get away but her allies jutsu had been too devastating. Managing to free four shuriken from her bag she chucked them forward as a bolt of acid hit her leg. Crying out in pain, she was swept off her feet by the gravity that pulled her towards the center, though thankfully at some point the acid part of the friendly-fire technique had been destroyed. Much like everyone else thus far, she would be whipped into the onslaught, howling in pain. She only hoped that the strength of pull that now accelerated her shuriken some meters before her would bring the shuriken into Ken, their opponent before she reached close enough.

If she even had the ability to move, she would try do form a defensive cross in-front of her with her blades as a single-tear formed in the left corner of her eye, Tsukiko realizing the severity of the situation she was now swept up into.

phpBB [video] With the distance between them when he had interrupted Ken's charge and his quick disengage, Hayate had been retreating at full speed back towards the tower already when the violent acid-gravity-ball popped. The Raikage deftly but narrowly avoided the random, unaimed attacks as he out ran them to the edge of it's effectiveness, his body glowing with a new intensity as both the golden cloak and the golden lightning around him surged with the brilliance of the stars themselves.

His speed would surpass anything anyone on the field was even capable of understanding- likely disappearing from most of their sights. As the fault line emerged behind him, it would pose no threat with it's speed and by simply moving to the side he would avoid the fault line itself though he would not be able to protect the tower. Realizing the enemies play, and that his forces had left the tower unguarded, a puff of smoke formed off of him as a shadow clone came into existence and both he and the shadow clone split directions with the shadow clone racing straight for the tower, both channeling a technique. The battle had quickly grown out of hand and he had no choice left but to end it swiftly.

Somewhere else a kunai that would have been very hard to aim at Hayate, and also inaccurate given its slow speed and how quickly he moved across the field, would find itself smacking down near mid, where Hayate was no longer.

From his completely new and safe vantage point to the side of the battle field out of the range of Lii's techniques, away from the bird people, and forming a triangle of sorts between Ken, Ishidai, and himself he looked upon the chaos that had been sowed. Dangling in the air, his legs eviscerated, was Ken. He swung his sword with might, though the force of gravity made his attacks much slower and weaker than had there been no gravity. Still, Tsukiko and Ikinari were caught in the Sunagakure shinobis own technique. Lii on the other hand was now pursuing and giving chase to Ishidai.

Channel swelled into Hayate's hands. It was time for a split-second decision: was destroying the bannin of Iwagakure more important than saving his comrades? The choice was easy, and for Lii this seemed to be the case too. It was probably better given her dangerous techniques to let her pursue Ishidai alone. As his technique finished a bow of chakra would form in his hand. As he knocked it, strands of violent electricity from his legendary cloak were pulled off and formed into an arrow withint he bow.

He would focus on capturing Ken and thus protecting the others.

Given that Ken was still and had to fight against gravity, the same gravity that would only help pull his projectiles to Ken, and given his sword and all the projectiles around him making him a giant lightning rod for electricity to diffuse over this would be a moderately easy task; Hayate would get as he safely could to the opposite side, being mindful of gravity and with his sensory the ground Ishidai might have seeped his chakra into, would fire off as many rounds of electric arrows as it took at Ken (bow fires at 50str) until the storm of arrows would hit him.

He would be careful not to fire more than he needed- his aim was to paralyze, though the electrical burns would be painful too so he needed to be careful to not Kill Ken instead of incapacitating him.

The genjutsu wouldn't do much to help the birds hide their true motives as Hayate's shadow clone outpaced them and kept on their tale- their direction was a give away of their intent, and even with the illusion cast on the clone, the clone could sense where the true birds and riders were, and also visually most the birds would be just illusions of the birds, not their riders atop. All in all it did little but use chakra for them. At the point when the owl and eagle would begin to split off to different sides, the clone would release his jutsu as lightning rained down from the heavens at extraordinary speed crashing into the birds and everyone on top of it, diffusing through them and stopping them before they could ever get their attacks on the tower off. He wouldn't overdo it- the sheer amount of powerful lightning bolts in quick succession could kill, but he would be careful to stop his assault on the two birds and their rides before lethality was achieved.

The clone would be prepared to used closed kinesis (not changing the stats of the already cast jutsu) to help guide the other 13 lightning bolts to his targets if need be, and make sure there would be no friendly fire.

Utilizing his extraordinary speed, acrobatic prowess, and perception in combat Hayate takes a "prancing" stance similar to that of a ballet dancer. This stance allows him to stay light on his feet never quite touching or staying on the ground for long while also keeping his motion "perpetual" and allowing him to move in extremely sudden and precise movements. Simply put, those attempting to strike him or defend against him are caught off guard by his sudden movements and their attempts will suffer a -6 speed debuff against his movement. Those with high level techniques and skills in perception can be less perceptible to this.

Possessing immense perception capabilities, Hayate is cognizant of even the most subtle details around him, to a point where he can even pick up on the slightest tension changes in an opponent’s body allowing him predict their movement before it is complete or even read what someone is writing by the way the top of their pencil moves. At times his eyes seem to move on their own will, rapidly tracking an amount of movements equal to his [Instinct]/3. A downfall to this technique however is that while his eyes may be aware of movement, his body is not always capable of knowing and keeping up.

After performing the correct hand seals the user proceeds to create a number of clones of themselves (maximum is equal to 1/3rd the user's stamina). Unlike the Clone Technique, these clones are actual copies of the user in both appearance and substance. The user's chakra is evenly distributed among every clone, giving each clone an equal fraction of the user's overall power. The clones are capable of performing jutsu on their own and can even bleed, but they will usually disperse after one or two solid blows. The clones will be created in roughly the same condition as the original and any experience the clones gain during their existence is transferred to the user once they are dispersed. Given that the clones are an exact replica of the user, they share the same stats except for stamina, which is determined by the number of clones presently in effect. The advantage of this form of the technique is that once dispersed, the chakra distributed to the clones returns to the user, allowing any un-used chakra to be regained, slowing the draining usage of this technique. The chakra returns to the user at a different rate depending on the user's control.

As Ikinari had been swept forward, Lii responded by pulling backwards on him, leaving the man dangling in the air, the two forcing pull against each other with his body simply hanging in the middle. Geez. All things considered, it would be a nice view if there wasn't acid eating into his skin, the grinding of the sand further exacerbating the injuries being created. He felt the grating and grinding against his torso, his clothes already torn to shreds. All Ikinari could do was simply endure, groaning in pain as it shredded into him. If there was any consolation, at least he knew that woman's throat was being crushed at this very moment, without a medic she was toast.

For a moment Ikanbi just paused and watched as her jutsu turned sour and Ken and Ishidai wrangled about and around it in their own ways. "They're retreating then? Eh....okay....I guess..." Ikanbi said with a roll of her eyes, watching as the invaders turned tail and ran back. She hadn't even gotten to do anything particularly wonderful, she'd been blinded so harshly by a flash tag she'd almost killed her allies with her jutsu.

"Well, sorry I'm a little rusty." She said finally to the others, but she kept her eyes to the distance, seeing if any other sort of trouble might pop up.

Wakana felt how her throat was crushed by the invisible force projected by Ikinari, causing her to cough up blood and fall to her knees. Her vision blurred as she struggled to breath as oxygen was deprived from her brain, Chie, who spotted this would change plans, instead of attempting to attack the tower, she would instead choose to grab her comrade before she would gently kick Shiryoku, signaling to the eagle that they had to bail. The eagle following her commands would swerve to the side and begin to fly away from the battlefield at top speed.

"Wakana is dying!"

"Just go!"

Chikara who spotted the eagle swaying away would curse under his breath as he continued with his onslaught, Yasu threw the kunai and due to her not being interrupted would watch as the tower would collapse from her rain of kunai's, she watched how the tower crumbled and fell into the massive crevice, the mission was successful! What came next would shock the two mercenaries and the owl.

The owl picked up how the Raikage had cloned himself and how the clone channeled chakra, indicating that the clone was ready to strike them and before long a thunderclap would first miss them before the second one would strike Yasu then Chikara as the lightning spread to the owl. Ayuma, the owl was paralyzed, restricting her muscles from following her mental orders, fortunately her wings were spread, though not fully stretched out, causing them to hover towards their exit but they were losing elevation quickly.

"Stay vigilant!"

Chikara grunted as the armor had protected him from being paralyzed like the owl, Yasu was experiencing the same and would prepare to do her best to escape from this cursed battlefield. Another thunder strike would land next to them, missing them again before the next coming one struck them again. "This is bad!" Chikara cursed as he leapt off the owl as it neared the ground and began to run in a different direction towards his escape, while Yasu would grab the owl and fling it over her shoulder and run in a different direction towards their freedom as thunder kept raining down on them.

Ken'ichi waited, sword raised and ready at the centre of the gravity well. Although he was no longer taking new injuries, blood from the wounds he'd already suffered had begun to pool around him, both it and he at the epicentre of the gravity's pull. It slicked his arms, clothes, and face, transforming the normally stoic swordsman into a visage of death and ruin and making it appear as if his skin had been torn away by the acid and sand. Despite being trapped and ineffective for the most of the fight, he felt now like Death's patron.

He watched as the Sunagakure ninja, caught in his allies' technique, was pulled to a halt as that same ally came to his partial rescue. The man seemed somewhat helpless, but was also safely out of Ken's range and therefore quickly beyond the bannin's attention. The third and last captive of the gravity well, however, was of considerable more interest. Tsukiko's shuriken left her fingertips relatively slowly, but were immediately caught by the gravity and accelerated to more than twice their original speed, followed shortly by the woman herself as she too was snared by impartial arrows of the acid-sand arrows and pulled in.

With his blade ready, Ken had a moment to prepare and began spinning his weapon ahead of the shuriken's arrival, concentrating his efforts in their direction. Two of the shuriken pinged away from him as he tried to deflect the attack; he felt like he should have been able to strike more, but with the gravity constantly pulling against his sword, he was slower and clumsier than he needed to be. He never imagined he'd bear such enmity to a force of nature. The remaining two shuriken shot pas his defense as tumbling blurs, striking with a solid thud-thud into his torso. They cut straight through his ineffective leather armour and embedded themselves into his skin. Thankfully, although they'd been accelerated by the gravity, they still didn't have much force behind them due to the way they were thrown. The woman's strength obviously wasn't enough to keep the weapons spinning properly through the gravity well, meaning that although they were fast, they didn't wound as badly as they would've done had they been thrown originally at such speed. And even in his wounded state, a man of Ken'ichi's training and stature could endure such mild injuries.

Next came the woman herself, soaring towards him only metres behind her thrown weapons. It looked like she was trying to cross her swords before her, though her stance was rigid and it seemed likely she wasn't able to move under the intense weight of the gravity. Finally, an advantage, though there was only one way to test if it were true. He almost pitied her as he turned the spinning of his sword into an angled strike, building strength in his arms and bringing the blade down into her guard a moment before she careened into him. The first strike would likely cut clean through the woman's crossed swords and stop her from slamming into him. The second, a near-instantaneous follow-up strike, would be aimed to take the woman's left arm off at the elbow. With his strength, it'd be like a hot knife sliding through butter to do so.

But this wasn't enough, and not right: There was no honour in executing a defenseless, defeated enemy, though he'd do it if it served the greater battle. She was likely now helpless and disarmed, no threat to him, however the fight was not yet over and his comrades below were not yet beyond danger. Stopping his attack while the woman still lived, he grabbed her rigid form with his free hand and pulled her to a halt infront of him. If they were going to die here, perhaps he could learn something first. A warrior's name should be remembered. But before he could open his mouth he saw the Raikage's first lightning arrow lancing across the battlefield towards them. Only a split-second decision had Ken move Tsukiko a fraction to the side, between himself and the Raikage, but positioning her to ensure the incoming arrow would not hit a fatal area, then momentarily let go of her. It would have been entirely honourable to let her take a fatal blow meant for him, given their situations, but it seemed a senseless waste to let her die in such a manner. To her kage's own strike, dishonourable as it was.

The arrow would take her in her right shoulder blade from behind, and the lightning would erupt through her, paralysing her as it spun her around and threw her fowards into Ken. With the charge of the impact dissipated he grabbed and restrained her again with his free arm, stabilising her as the pair were pushed away from, then quickly pulled back towards, the centre of the gravity well. Now that she was facing outwards, towards the battlefield and her kage below, he positioned her between himself and Hayate as a shield, then flipped his grip on his sword and delicately, but deliberately, placed the razor-sharp edge of it against her paralysed neck. He'd ensure that any further arrows, if the Raikage kept firing, would be fatal to his hostage.

"Nakajima Hayate!" Ken roared, fixing the man with a deathly one-eyed stare and tensing his sword-arm to cut, "Enough! The day is done! Cease your fighting. Leave my allies be. Take the flying Sunagakure woman and leave. Leave the field and do not return, and on my honour I will let this one live and return to you!" He hoped that the Raikage remembered their history together enough to know Ken to be a man of his word. "You are better than this, Emperor," he muttered quietly, though loud enough for Tsukiko to hear, "consider your next move very carefully..."

This does not offer any protection against the actual damage caused by attacks that successfully land on the practitioner, only their ability to immediately push through the pain through force of will and carry out their own attacks and counterattacks.

After much training with grappling, clinching, blocking, deflecting, and parrying weapons, the practitioner gains skin as sturdy as rock, allowing them even more avenues for defense and attack. This Discipline represent's the practitioner's body conditioning for toughening their skin all over their bodies, especially on their hands. This makes the practitioner's skin harder to cut or penetrate, and it allows the practitioner to perform normally self-destructive feats, such as blade catches, without needlessly harming themselves.

Prerequisite(s): 15 Strength, 15 Speed.
The practitioner will engage their weapon in a continuous spin, the weapon spinning in multiple directions so as to cover the practitioner on all sides. This seemingly chaotic series of spins actually serves as a simultaneous defense and offense for the practitioner, allowing them to both defend against an opponent's attacks and projectiles as well as rush the opponent with a flurry of alternating strikes from a variety of angles. The practitioner can maintain this technique for a number of posts equal to their Strength stat.

Prerequisite(s): 30 Strength, 30 Speed.
Momentarily torquing every single muscle in their body, the practitioner generates an immense amount of force in their body. Then, after launching a preliminary attack, the pent up force is released, causing the practitioner to instantaneously launch a second attack at their maximum speed, essentially landing two attacks in the same time frame it would normally take to launch one. In order to defend against this attack, the opponent must have equal or higher Endurance than the practitioner's Strength. Otherwise, this double-attack will rend through the opponent's defenses, possibly even breaking weapons and armor as the attack cleaves the opponent or runs them through.

Ken has learned to skillfully calculate the distances between himself and any object of his focus at a glance, despite only having one eye. This allows him to determine quickly and easily how far he needs to move in order to make an attack or avoid an enemies attack, allowing for a great amount of utility in battle.

The Emperor of Lightning was generally a well-spirited man. Today however, he had no clever retorts, no edgy banter, and no flaming comments to make on the battle-field. His heart weighed heavy thinking of the other sites; was Takeo alive? How many had already died today? How many wounded? All for not. A rage he had not felt in a long time- since at least the Fall of Kumogakure and his fight against the Spirit Raijin came over him.

His eyes had been fixed on his subordinate who had floated hopelessly towards Ken as the mighty bow of chakra formed in his hand. Things were looking grim. With Tsukiko caught in the Sunagakure shinobi's friendly fire there would likely be little he could do to save her, with things made even worse by the fact she was now to close to Ken for the Raikage to deliver any large finishers without risking Tsukiko's life further.

His eyes fixed on Ken, he recognized the man's stance. The minute movements. The twitches of his muscles, clothes, the movement of the environment. He had already seen Ken unleash these attacks before several times and it had all become patterns memorized by Hayate now- to the point where he could already tell what would happen next before Ken even landed his attacks. Ken's moves were telegraphed to him, made simpler by his weakened and slowed movements within the Kuuton.

Ken would likely destroy the swords of the helpless Tsukiko, and just as he had almost done to Hayate forcing him on the backfoot before leaping out in another near-instantaneous slash... and then, as expected, the scene unfolded.

His eyes locked all the while on Ken'nichi, the Raikage knocked his arrow as the man's massive sword ripped through Tsukiko's two fangs as if they were nothing, the swords shattering as the shrapnel joined the air, pulled by the gravity to coalesce among them.

Ken'ichi... you bastard.

Hayate's fingers let loose his arrow as it flew across the battlefield with tremendous speed. He would take a gamble. His eyes locked onto Ken'nichi, Tsukiko, and the arrow itself. Would he need to fire more?

Just as quickly as the sword had cleaved it's way through her blades, the rigid and helpless Tsukiko found Ken's own blade spinning into her arm and rending it off. A scream filled the air as she fell back, the blood splattering and scattering over her and the swordsmen as her body attempted to writhe in pain but was stopped by the Kuuton. The shrill scream became a blood curdling one.

You will suffer more than all of them...

The Raikage's arrow was rapidly advancing on them as his eyes widened- Ken's sword went back and he began to move to thrust his free hand forward for Tsukiko. Time was of the essence as the Raikage stopped, the bow dropping straight out of his hands only to be caught by his cloak, suspended neatly in the golden chakra that emanated around him as his hand began to glow.

I failed you Tsukiko...

He wouldn't be fast enough to catch his arrow as he had planned, Ken unexpectedly grabbing hold of Tsukiko and using her as a shield. He watched- in agonizing slow motion as the arrow pelted into her and her body instantly went rigid.

Rage filled his veins as he let out a guttural scream- his left arm swinging up with all his might.

He never needed to land the shot- it only needed to get close... though it hitting Tsukiko was not what he had hoped for. As Ken let her go to avoid the lighthing, and Tsukiko floated into the air as the lightning diffused through her and towards the metal floating all about them in the air; the swords, the shuriken, the shrapnel of her broken blades; her souls... Hayate would pull the diffusing lightning and fling it right into Ken, aiming to hit him on the chest and sword arm (50spd) making use of the short distance and massive speed advantage to counter-attack without giving him much space to deal with it. He wouldn't just go for paralysis; he'd hopefully rend his arm off.

He wouldn't stop there though, he'd slightly rotate as his other arm came too; refusing to let the lightning go away as it would hit the man with another lash aiming to rip off his other arm.

He wouldn't give the warrior what he wanted and he didn't give a damn about honor. He was no samurai.

Hayate was a shinobi.

The Clone bit his lip as the tower fell and one of the birds (carrying Wakana and Chie) escaped. Luckily, he had managed to paralyze the Eagle and both the two individuals riding it. They'd crash into the ground hopefully injuring themselves in the process, but if not, still find themselves paralyzed completely as the electricity had worked its way through the bird and into their legs and through their body.

The clone would carefully approach and identify the targets as top targets in the Bingo book. Cracking his knuckles he would launch a series of punches into their legs not only breaking their legs but sending more blasts of electricity off his cloak into them and further cementing their capture.

He'd do whatever it took to go past the paralysis and physical detriment and induce a "knock out", but he would be careful not to kill them.

Bingo Books didn't matter- these guys had intel and perhaps different values.

Humans follow patterns and in combat this is no exception, ranging from taijutsu to hand seals. Patterns already being easier to remember, Hayate has worked hard at actively committing whatever he sees to his short-term memory. This allows him to remember things such as the beginning torque to a kick or a hand seal pattern after seeing it once, so that he can recognize the technique if used later in a battle, giving him an advantage in anticipating his opponents next action and effectively making an opponent’s consecutive usage of a technique a liability.

Possessing immense perception capabilities, Hayate is cognizant of even the most subtle details around him, to a point where he can even pick up on the slightest tension changes in an opponent’s body allowing him predict their movement before it is complete or even read what someone is writing by the way the top of their pencil moves. At times his eyes seem to move on their own will, rapidly tracking an amount of movements equal to his [Instinct]/3. A downfall to this technique however is that while his eyes may be aware of movement, his body is not always capable of knowing and keeping up.

Utilizing his extraordinary speed, acrobatic prowess, and perception in combat Hayate takes a "prancing" stance similar to that of a ballet dancer. This stance allows him to stay light on his feet never quite touching or staying on the ground for long while also keeping his motion "perpetual" and allowing him to move in extremely sudden and precise movements. Simply put, those attempting to strike him or defend against him are caught off guard by his sudden movements and their attempts will suffer a -6 speed debuff against his movement. Those with high level techniques and skills in perception can be less perceptible to this.

Having achieved notable mastery over Raiton, Hayate is capable of shaping, directing, and manipulating existing bodies of the element without the need of hand seals or an existing technique. In an instant, Hayate will retreat backwards in a leap, landing on his back leg and lowering himself. Just as quickly, he will leap forward and back at his opponent, utilizing the arm opposite of his leg and delivering a downward straight punch. The main point of the technique is to turn his body into a spring, allow him to gain momentum quickly in closed spaces. The added momentum from moving full speed greatly aids the force behind the punch and also makes it unexpected. If Hayate is wearing an elemental cloak, the raw speed and force can cause the elemental energy surrounding his body to "launch" off his fist in a fist-sized diameter pillar for up to 3 meters.

Ikanbi sighed, dispelled her ridiculous jutsu, and went home to take a nap.

Ken, on high alert and waiting for the Raikage to respond, had only to flick his wrist by a fraction when he saw the man make the tell-tale body motions that he'd come to recognise immediately as a kinesis control. His blade kissed Tsukiko's throat, the razor's edge slipping into her jugular like a breath inhaled, and the lightning struck. The bolts, torn from the air around Tsukiko, twisted and bent around the woman's stunned body and hammered into Ken, tearing through his chest and arms and firing him backwards. His body locked up instantly and he was unable to do so much as scream. His sword, however, already lodged in Tsukiko's throat as its wielder and hilt were blasted backwards, got pulled part of the way with him before the Bannin's arm was destroyed.

Everything began to grow muted and dull, floating in the void above the battefield surrounded by blood and disappointment. Tsukiko's head drfited nearby, crimson ribbons of blood floating behind it like streamers in an unseen wind. He felt a moment of fading relief that she had at least avoided much suffering with such an end; her final moments would've surely been racked with despair, betrayed by one she should have been able to trust. Such a shame, when all of them could've made it home. He supposed this was the cost when power eclipsed responsibility.

With two bodies now pouring blood en-masse into the gravity well, the entire centre would become a silken red sphere, swirling slowly from the occasional death twitch within and glinting here and there from a floating rogue length of steel. When the gravity technique ended, this crimson moon would descend upon the battlefield as a tide of blood, raining grim reality on those who remained. A woman's hand, fragile and palm open to the sky, but bloodstained and severed, came to rest where the clash between the two shinobi groups had begun.

It looked like in his rage, Hayate had given Ken a warriors death anyhow. Chuckling to himself, he produced a flame that would eat away the mans corpse and give him an honorable pyre funeral.

Meanwhile, Hayate would collect Tsukiko and Ikinari, summoning the island turtle and placing them within his stomach to stabilize the two. It had appeared Ikanbi had fled the seen to retreat back towards Sunagakure. His clone would come to the turtle and deliver his 2 captives, dragging the large bird by its wing. The clone would have wrapped them in a few layers of doton bindings to keep them locked down.

As the clone disappeared and his chakra returned, he'd make sure to keep them paralayzed and bound, and also cover their eyes. He didn't know what they're tricky doujutsu did, but he didn't want to find out.

Kumo would decided what to do with Yasu- but Chikara would go to Konoha.

With that, he'd retreat and drop Ikinari off whenever the shinobi felt good enough to get on his way, unaware of the massive loss Konoha and Suna had at the other sites, and not yet aware of the tragic end of the Hokage who had summoned him to this battle.
