It was dark. Really dark. Mika could see nothing. Her arms and legs felt as if someone was pulling them apart. Whenever she moved it, she heard a chain locking sound and she wasn't able to move it anymore. The door opened and a terrified gasp escaped her lips. She tensed up and swallowed the spit in her mouth.
The lights went on and Mika's eyes started to burn. She shut them tightly and turned her head away from the source. "Do not be afraid," a voice said. She opened her eyes and saw no one around her. She began looking around for where the voice came from. "W-who are you?" she asked, trying to sound brave. Didn't work too well there with the studdering. "That is not important." The chains tightened, squeezing her arms and legs, before releasing her.
She fell to the ground, but stayed up. Making a run for whatever exit she could find, Mika ignored the voice that was talking to her. She dashed through a dark hallway and kept running. She ran and ran and ran. She just kept running, even though all she could see ahead was more darkness. Finally getting to tired to continue, she stopped and started gasping for air. Turning around, her eyes widened. All that running, and she could still see the room she just came from. It was like she didn't even go anywhere. She walked back towards the lab, not believing it. But there was no denying it.
She fell to her knees and continued catching her back. "Oh, you've returned?" the voice said. Mika let out a growl, and stood up. She looked back at the dark corridor. "You're gonna try to leave again?" She thought about that question. Realizing it would probably happen again, she sighed and walked into the room fully. Another door opened to her right and a man walked into the room, holding a sword. Mika could barely see what he looked like. Her vision was blurry from being exhausted. But she got up anyway.
Walking over to him, she stopped when he stopped and they looked each other in the eye. Mika's vision was slowly becoming unblurry but she still couldn't picture the man's face. "Why am I here?" she asked him. "In due time," he answered. "Come." He walked off and motioned for Mika to follow him. She did without question. They entered the dark corridor and walked a few feet before coming to a door on the right. When was that there? she thought. The man opened the door and walked inside, disappearing on sight. Mika followed him and the enviroment changed from a dark laboratory to a sun shiny bright woodland area. The man was leaning against a tree staring up into space.
Mika decided that now she was outside, she would make her escape again. She ran as fast as she could into the woods and the man just turned to face where she left. Turning to face another area with trees, he waited. Mika, however, ran with all her might. Seeing an opening, she thought freedom. She dashed into the opened and looked around. Surrounded by trees, she thought she had to keep going. But before she could run, she heard a familiar voice speak. "Leaving so soon? But you just got here." She turned to see the man, still leaning against a tree. How the hell? The man, taking out a sword, walked towards Mika. "If you wish to leave so much, so be it." He swung the sword at her sides, looking to slice her in half. She was too tired to evade it, so she closed her eyes and waited for the end.
"Ahh!" Mika shouted, opening her eyes widely. She was breathing heaviled and was covered from head to toe in sweat. She looked around, finding herself in a cave. She couldn't stop breathing so hard, no matter how many times she tried. "It was just........a dream," she told herself. She sat up and brought her knees up. Leaning forward, she put her chest against her tight, put her chin on her knees, and wrapped her arms around her legs. Maybe sleep wasn't such a good idea today.
