[Plotboard] The Big Boss: Part 1, Not so big boss

Post by Taiga » Wed Aug 15, 2018 8:52 am

As the sun rose and the caws of crowing filled the air, the town would awake to find the slumped and cold corpses of the village guard in the town square. This was not the first time, but it was the last time. There was no one left to protect the town, and certainly no clues to why the guards had been mysteriously killed. Upon further inspection, the village found a child in between the corpses of the guards. It was horrifying- and begged the question. Why kill a child, and the guards? Regardless, the mystery soon ended when a man with brass knuckles stepped out of the barricaded guards room, a few other bandits behind him. The corpses had done well to attract the whole village to the town center, and now he could make his announcement.

"This here is my town, now. And you are my family right? And family's have to eat, but to eat you gotta work." He smilled, showing a grotesque and rotten grin. And that was that.

By the time you arrived to the town, the people had already been hard work, slaves to the bandits processing his drugs and doing his crimes. If they didn't they were killed, and if they ran they were killed. They were stuck, powerless. Perhaps things would change for you, since your arrival was relatively unnoticed in the middle of the night.... but then, you are not aware of this town's dark secret either, are you?

Fuhen, of course, was not aware. He rarely was when it came to these things. He went out on his adventures, saw new sights, and usually landed in trouble somewhere either along the way, at the destination, or on the way home. Sometimes all three. In this instance, he was once again on his way home, his swords slung over his back, and alongside them a bag of various knick-knacks and money he was meant to bring to his family.

When he entered the town, the place was quiet, perhaps as expected in the middle of the night, but something felt eerie in the air, and in the distance he heard the opening them for the newest season of his TV show. That meant something was probably wrong. He wandered his way through the town, only dimly lit by a few buildings who had light beaming out of cracks or windows, and so he looked for one that was most well lit of all, hoping it would be some sort of inn or tavern, and opened the door, assuming it was unlocked, to step inside.

"Comin' through! Any spare beds open?"
"It's so sad!" the reader said to the writer with a frown. "The character in my book just died!" The author turned to her and burst out into tears, "I know!" he said, "So did mine!"

A particularly odd man at the inn tavern was behind the bar, or maybe check in counter? It was ambiguous. He had an eye patch and a hook for a hand... he peered over to Fuhen, who had just entered he looked relatively strong and ready to fight. He also had a lot of weapons. Squinting with both eyes, well one eye, he pointed to the pack of blades.

"We're the last bed, but we don't allow weapons here. You can give em to Janni, or you can sleep next store in the pig pen." he said before turning back to another patron and handing him a pitcher full of beer. If Fuhen was observant enough, he would notice no one in the inn or bar seemed normal. Of course, tavern inns rarely ever seemed normal since everyone there was a traveler, but this was bizzare. Everyone seemed a bit too gruff, grizzled, greasy.

The man named Janni stepped up from a seat. HIs hair was slicked back and he had the fastest of fastest stogie in his mouth. He let out a puff of smoke into Fuhen's face.

"Wat'll it be love? fancy a pig ye?"

Places that didn't allow weaponry weren't incredibly uncommon, especially in a place as seedy as this seemed to be. He had been to a few similar bars in his time, and typically speaking they served the most straight alcohol, and had the loudest and angriest of patrons. The Frog didn't mind, walking over to the counter, unclasping his swords from his back, and swinging them around to sit them atop the counter, where presumably they'd be taken away.

"I know exactly how many's in that basket, and how they're each positioned." The Frog said with a relatively neutral look on his face, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "If'n they's moved or touched, Oi'll be the first t'know." Which wasn't untrue. Ever since that fight with the giant lizard, he'd had a strong personal connection with his weapons, like each was truly an extension of himself.

Though, with that said, his smile grew wider, and his fist pounded lightly on the counter top. "Ah'll have a bed, and whatever's strongest, if'n ye ken!" He said, before moving to sit down at one of the tables nearby, not particularly caring if it was mostly occupied or empty.
"It's so sad!" the reader said to the writer with a frown. "The character in my book just died!" The author turned to her and burst out into tears, "I know!" he said, "So did mine!"

The bar tenders smiled extremely happily. Everyone in the room had a huge laugh. Oh, they had a huge laugh, a huge stomach turning laugh. Janni took the huge bag of swords and gave a hearty slap to the back of Fuhen's back before walking away with the blades. After that, the bar tender leaned over the bar and slapped it back, just like Fuhen.

"Alright, ye play by our rules you stay." He said, snapping his fingers, as the piano man went back to playing the piano. The boy asked for the strongest, didn't he. He'd give him the strongest drink alright, the strongest possible drink. Laughing he poored a mug, and a little more of not-beer-into it before dropping it down onto the table.

"Drink up lad." With that he returned to talking to another, more shady patron.

As the entire bar had a laugh, Fuhen began to think well these folks might just be alright after all, as, after all, laughter was a good thing, right? As he sat down with his drink, he observed the others at the table momentarily, before making a rather raucous toast. "T'free people, and free minds!" Fuhen said, referencing his most recent conquest aboard a slave ship, and his desire to clear his head with the use of alcohol. Such things were stressful.

Fuhen downed the drink, thinking momentarily that it certainly had an odd flavor to it, but he shrugged it off, figuring it was just the local grog. Every place had different tasting alcohol, oddly enough, even if they followed very similar recipes and processes, the grains and the like that they were made with, the barrels used to stir and age, and even the mugs used could make massive differences. All this went through his mind as he drained the last of the drink, some rolling down his chin, before he slammed the mug down on the table dramatically. "Another!" He said proudly, a large smile on his face, before his face suddenly thudded against the table, and he was asleep.
"It's so sad!" the reader said to the writer with a frown. "The character in my book just died!" The author turned to her and burst out into tears, "I know!" he said, "So did mine!"

Shouting another was all Fuhen would remember. He was now dead due to poison. After his head hit the bar, a few of the men laughed, some even chortled.  Before long two rather burly men would grab Fuhen and drag him to a room. When Fuhen would awake he would find himself quarter to the bed post with rope. Each foot, each hand. It was pretty sturdy too to a point where his own strength overpowering the rope wouldn't be all that good. On the other hand, there was no one in the room. It would seem they just tied him up and left him there. The room was decently large and the bed rather comfy. It was however, quite plan, only a chair and a desk across from the bed. If he listened carefully he could hear shuffling outside in the hallway corridor. Out on the street, he'd hear nothing bot footsteps.

As Fuhen awoke bound to a post, he first thought that he'd gotten incredibly drunk, met some nice lady, and she'd been nice enough to tie him up for fun. Then he realized his clothes were still on, and that couldn't have been right. Thinking back, he didn't remember much besides asking for a second beer, before... Well that was it, actually. That couldn't be right, could it?

The Frog closed his eyes and concentrated on his blades and sheath. Thanks to his Shogun ability, if they were within 22 meters of him, he would be able to sense their locations, as well as know what was going on 1 meter around them. Depending on what he saw, heard, smelled, touched, and tasted, he would likely call the blades to his side, unafraid of them crashing through walls to reach him, and cut him free of the mess he was in.

If they weren't close enough, he would have to struggle uselessly against the ropes for a few moments, before trying to find something that might be able to assist him. Shooting his tongue out, he would use it to drag the desk closer to him, rifling through the drawers and the like, hoping to find something along the lines of a sharp pen, or a letter opener that he could use to cut himself free that way instead.

The man would have no luck with the tracking or locating of his swords. They were much too far away for his parlour tricks- locked away in a cellar  beneath a barn on the other side of town. On the other hand, the weird tongue thing would work completely successfully. Damn shame there hadn't been a fair maiden who had tied him up. That tongue could of been useful. After pulling the desk closer and rifling around inside he would find a letter opener. It wasn't that sharp, but perhaps with the right strength it could cut or weaken the ropes enough to struggle a hand or a leg free. On the other hand, pulling a desk across a room made noise. Screeching, thudding noise.

"Oi, what's that?" a voice from presumably the room below would say. "noisy fuck!" Perhaps, someone would come. Perhaps not. Regardless, the frogman would probably be safer if he worked faster.

Pleased with his success, he would use his tongue to grab the letter opener, using the point of it to stab between the fibers of the ropes, loosening them so he could flex and push them further and further apart, hopefully enough to at least get one of his hands free. Once the hand was free, he would quickly repeat the process with his other hand, shouting back at the man "Oh, et's nothin'!" He said, freeing his other hand, and working on his legs now, with both hands free he'd be able to make quick work of the ropes binding them. "But there's some arsehole in here, if you could make him leave I'd be mighty pleased!"

Of course, the arsehole he spoke of was himself, because he really wanted out of there. If the man would come into the room, the frog would be somewhat prepared, instantly spitting a glob of his sticky saliva at him, before closing the distance and making a powerful haymaker that he hoped to knock the man out in a single punch with.

There would be a great deal of shuffling and the sound of someone coming up the stairs. Men downstairs were screaming- seemingly pissed off. Another set of footsteps on the same level and hall got louder too as it approached to the door, then stopped. Suddenly, with a creak, the door would open. Fuhen's spit and massive leaping attack would prove successful as his fist collided right into the face of a 60 year old woman, knocking her right off her feet and to the ground, maybe dead? Who knew.

She dropped a tray at the same moment too. A tray with a cup of water, and seemingly a pouch of powder next to it- no doubt more drugs. So, really, she had it coming.

When granny hit the ground however it made quite the ruckus and people knew something was up. The man's voice from earlier rang out into the hall.

"Oi, he fucking beat granny? The fuck mate!" He was visibly angry and he began to charge down the hall so he could attack Fuhen.

As his fist Connected with the greatest villain of all, megatron grandma 5000, a twinge of guilt panged inside the Frog. He never knew his own grandparents, as both sides of his family's grandparents had passed either when he was born, or when he was too young to remember anything about them. "Sorry Granny." He managed to get out, before his attention was drawn elsewhere.

He no longer had the element of surprise, and so taking the time for the same massive strike he'd given megatron granny 5000 would likely result in him taking a hit. Instead he decided to meet his opponent head on, rushing forward at full tilt, before jumping in the air and rotating his body, turning it into a powerful drop kick. If the kick connected, it would likely knock the man over, possibly doing serious damage to his chesticles. If it missed, however, the Frog would continue with his momentum until he could turn it into a slide along the ground, looking to leave the angry man behind and search for an exit.

After covering an appropriate distance, the user then lets loose a form of distraction, like a thrown object, in order to misdirect the target's attention. The user then leaps with their momentum, delivering a strong kick to bridge the rest of the distance.

The kick sure had a heft hit to it, but this guy wasn't exactly that weak either. Well, actually, he was. The foot landed dead center in his chest and the added weight of Fuhen in conjunction with the force meant the he was knocked right down onto his ass, next to the granny and the puddle of-yet-another-drugged-drink. Though, that was just a matter of he-said-she-said anyhow. Who really knew, right? The frogman would have plenty of time to get away from the man and would find an exit in the form of a window at the end of the hall way. Though, jumping out a window at broad daylight in a town crawling with gangster who want you gone may not be the best of ideas.

Regardless, he had caused quite a bit of commotion and at least two very loud thuds and the people below were beginning to stir. He'd have two options.

Fight the horde coming up the stairs or go out the window.

While Fuhen was a proficient fighter, stronger than most, his primary means of fighting was using his blades, even if he had to hit people with the back sides of them to avoid killing, or at least minimize the risk of killing. That said, he didn't really want to fight these guys in the first place, for as far as he knew he'd simple drunken too much, gotten into a drunken brawl, and needed to be restrained. He'd feel bad in that case, he'd just knocked out a grandma who was trying to be sweet and bring him a glass of water. Poor granny.

Kicking off the man's chest as he fell backwards, Fuhen bounced off the wall, hit the floor, and immediately took off running for the window, his only simple means of escape. Jumping and twisting, he pulled himself up into a ball so that his back would hit the window first, for safety reasons, as getting a few splinters in the back was usually not as catastrophic as a few in the stomach, spleen, and kidneys. He'd learned that from experience from the one time he'd slept with that priests daughter... But either way, as he leapt out the window, he would contort his body and make sure he hit the ground with a roll, carrying his momentum to keep him moving rather than splatting painfully on the ground.

Going out the window was a wise decision. He'd hit the ground with relatively minimal damage and would be able to take off- however there was an issue that he still didn't have any of his swords or weapons... And, if he was very very perceptive- actually evens slightly, actually if he had eyes, he'd notice something directly across from him in the town square. Bodies. Bodies hanging from ropes. But they didn't seem like prisoners, dirty people, or particularly bad people, the seemed... Like normal citizen-types?

The screaming inside the inn came to a close as the men reached the point and realized he escaped. The sound of a horn would ring out a nearby window soon after, with foot steps and screaming to come. The entire town was probably gunna get him for punching a granny, so he needed to find somewhere to hide and figure things out fast, probably.

To the north there was a church-like building, to the west a courtyard with trees, to the east there were some barns and a field, and to the south, behind him was the inn and most of the town- various buildings packed tightly-side-by-side perfect for the get away scene of a Tom Cruise movie.

...Bodies? Even the most justice-struck of towns usually held a public execution and then immediately disposed of the bodies, but these were strung up for the world to see, like some kind of warning to others not to make the same mistakes. He'd once visited a southern country that went more gruesome, stripping its criminals naked, tying them to a post, and carving their crimes into their skin, but this didn't seem like a similar situation at all. As the alarm bells went off and the veritable army of goons was summoned, he looked around, deciding he needed to think fast.

His options were limited, he could lose himself in the town behind him fairly easily, but it seemed likely that these thugs were hunting him down with abandon, and if they owned the town as they seemed to, that would be the least safe. The church seemed like a good option at first, but the person who owned the church often slept in it, and it would be hard to say if even the men of cloth was like that evil granny and her presumably poisoned drink. The courtyard was almost an inviting scene, but with only trees for cover, he figured it wouldn't keep him hidden well. The barns, however... Well, almost nobody ever slept in barns except travellers such as himself, and animals of course, and if he was going to trust anyone this juncture, it was a pig or horse.

He wasn't great, or even thrilled about using this, but he thought it was his best bet of going somewhat undetected. He formed a series of sloppy handseals, making two of the basic clones that he'd learned from that scroll so many years ago, quite good looking duplicates, which he sent running. One went back to the majority of the town, making special effort to run in front of the door of the inn and hopefully draw attention away, whilst the other would go to the courtyard. He momentarily considered sending one to the church, too, but if there was a man of the cloth there who wasn't a thug, it was best to leave him out of this situation.

With that, he took off running towards the nearest barn, taking cover at whatever he could in attempts to avoid detection.

"oi, I found him!" A hearty voice would call out. Cheering, chanting, whooping, and hollering would follow as they raced forth and after the clone, out for blood. The clone in the courtyard wouldn't get much attention, so it would do whatever it was it wanted to do. Eventually, Fuhen would arrive safely and with ease to the barn. If he cracked it open and entered, he would find that there was in fact a single person there.

In the pen, butt naked, next to two sheep would be a very dirty and very drunken looking man.

Beyond that, the rest of his roommates in the barn would be horses and pigs. There was a pitchfork and a bale of hay in the back corner, some hoes and other farm tools too.

The clone the hooligans were chasing around the town would simply run them in circles, keeping them in some form of occupied for as long as possible, while the clone in the courtyard would take a seat against one of the trees, beginning to ponder if there was more to life than being a chakra construct that wouldn't last all that long or really be able to physically interact with anything. It also wondered if it would ever find true love, and if so, would he have to be a surrogate father? Perhaps he could father one of Fuhen's many bastard children that had already been created.

Meanwhile, the real Frogman would indeed open up the barn, taking stock of everything inside. "Oi, naked guy." He said out loud as he noticed the man sleeping in the barn. "Ye seen a big basket o' swords 'round anywhere?" He asked, wandering the walls of the barn for any sign of the things himself, before deciding to pick up a few of the hoes, because he loved hoes very much.

The drunk man didn't really respond. He just... rolled over and hugged on eof the sheeps. muttering something incomrpehnsible about dirty foreigners. As for Fuhen, he'd notice he'd picked up some particularly worn out hoes, but despite being worn out they were still sharp. They could be used as make shift-spears if he sharpened them more. There was a second floor to the barn though still, should Fuhen wish to explore more.

With the drunk man deciding to act as a welshman, the Frog simply shrugged and explored more. He didn't feel he could take the time to properly sharpen the hoes, but if nothing else, he could swing them like swords to make himself feel better. Fuhen would quickly take a massive leap up to check out the upper floor, being sure to explore every nook and cranny for the stash that might contain his swords.

If nothing was to be found, he'd simply move to one of the other aforementioned barns, repeating his process. If nothing was to be found, well, he'd have to see about sneaking back into town and figuring out where the hell they'd taken his blades!

The man would not find any of his swords anywhere, he would however find a few of the mob who had by now realized they had been bamboozooled, outside the next barn. The three men would simply stare, taking a moment to realize it was the guy they all wanted to kill. One man had a spear, another man a hammer, and another man two short-bladed katanas

"Should we tell the boss?' the man with the spear said, leaning on his spear like it was a pole. The man with the hammer heaved it from the ground and onto his shoulder with no response.

"I say we kill him first!" the man with the wakizashi said as he drew both and began to step forward towards Fuhen, before dropping into a full out sprint and going for the man.

[Plotboard] The Big Boss: Part 1, Not so big boss

"I think we should let him go!" Fuhen responded to the men who had discovered him, pitching his voice down several octaves and attempting to throw it poorly. "No? Oh well." The Frog wanted to run, but unfortunately that wasn't a real option. Blades were expensive, and his numbered well over fifty, if he couldn't get them back, he'd be in debt for the rest of his life trying to catch up to his previous collection. He thought, for a moment, that perhaps if he could defeat these fine gentlemen before him, he could convince one of them to part ways with the information as to the whereabouts of his blades.

He didn't have much time to think about this, however, as the one with the two blades ran towards him in a rather reckless fashion. He kept his eyes open, making sure the other two didn't get a perfect opportunity to flank him as their first compatriot went in without response from the others. Taking up a simple boxers stance to prepare himself, he pulled his fist back in an overly obvious fashion as the man ran closer and closer, before... Fuhen spat at him. The large glob of saliva would fly true through the air when the man was just a couple of meters away, aimed for his feet. If successful, the stickiness of the spit would likely cause him to fall flat on his face.

If this was a success, the frog would cover the rest of the ground himself, dropping his body weight on the man in the form of one of his knees into the mans back, before taking his blades and readying himself to fight the other on-comers.

The man before him charged right away, the Wakizashi twirling in front of him. His own eyes were sharp and when the man spit, he had noticed it, but he has also thought exactly nothing of it as his foot collided into the spit puddle- and found itself stuck. He fell forward dropping his swords as he hit the ground. The Frog would have no problem taking him out and getting a hold of his blades. On the other hand, the other two men knew of his strange ability now.

The man with the spear stared forward, still leaning. The man with the hammer, reached behind him to retrieve a small buckler. Without a word, both rocketed forward for Fuhen.

The man with the hammer and buckler would charge headfirst- shield out, aiming to slam or knock into the boys blades then deliver a hammer blow. Following up behind him, like lightning itself the spear man would leap out from behind the shielded comrade at the last minute and poke for Fuhen's leg.

Wakizashi were nice. They were really just short katana, which Fuhen was really very familiar with, but there was a problem. They weren't his katana, he didn't feel the same inherent connection to him that he'd felt grown with his blades over the years, and that ultimately allowed him to move them about with less than a thought.

That said, short katana were still katana, and the Frog knew how to wield those effectively long before they learned to wield themselves. And perhaps more importantly, while they had seen his 'trick' with his spit, he was far from a one trick ronin.

Once more Fuhen would reel his head back as the two charged, letting out another massive glob of spit towards the man in front wielding his shield, intentionally aiming to let the man block, though theoretically if he chose to step to the side instead it would likely hit his companion behind him. Regardless of the end result, a string of saliva would connect him to his target, and as he performed a skillful backflip he would slurp the saliva back towards him. Depending on the targets strength, it would likely either rip the shield from his grasp and send it flying over Fuhen's head, or take the man with it, as even strong men had trouble keeping their feet on the ground when something was lifting them. Either way, the flip would build momentum upwards, tearing the shield up and away or the man launching into the air as he finished his flip.

Assuming the man with the spear was still charging forwards and stabbing, if Fuhen was fast enough he would let out the spit connecting him and the shield man, and charge forwards to meet him, taking the spear thrust as an opportunity to jump up atop it like a railing, and even as he weighed it down with one foot, the other foot would find its way in a simple front kick up under the man's chin. Or it was possible Fuhen would be stabbed before all this could happen, it was hard to say.

Spot-on Spit[/b]
D-rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Thanks to his excessively dexterous and powerful tongue, Fuhen has learned to work his spit in his mouth, aim, and shoot it towards targets with great distance, speed, and precision. The distance that his spit can fly with the aid of this technique is [Strength+Taijutsu]/2. The speed at which it flies with the aid of this technique is [Speed+Taijutsu]/2. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the spit, it has an impact strength of 1 regardless of speed or distance traveled.

Raucous Reel[/b]
C-rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Further mastering his odd saliva, Fuhen can spit, leaving a string of saliva connecting to his mouth, and then suck in with force, pulling the object towards him at a speed equal to the saliva's strength.

Blur
B-Ranked Taijutsu Stance
The user has learned to move their entire body as they flow from stance to stance, never remaining still long enough for anyone to keep up mentally. With this stance, as long as their speed is higher than the opponents instinct, then the users body seems to blur as they move, leaving behind solid looking afterimages, making it difficult to tell which one is the 'real' version of the user, meaning that hitting the right one, as well as blocking incoming strikes becomes much more difficult.
