Somewhere to the south of all the Great Countries, there was a peaceful mountain range, dotted with happy little trees. A river ran down one of the mountains, hinting at a mountain lake above, so picturesque it could have been a painting. The sloping mountain path meandered up the slope, before eventually descending into a quiet valley. Surprisingly quiet. No birds, no wind rustling, nothing. The beautiful scene was haunted by the total lack of noise, of any life.

At the bottom of the valley was a series of three small buildings, all along the edge of a small pond. The furthest was a temple, plain, but clearly had been well maintained in the past. The second building appeared to be a dormitory. The door was open and a few beds, sheets perfectly done, could be seen. The closest building was the one of the most interest. From the first step inside, it was clear it was a school, a one room classroom. The building had once been full of life, but now only dust remained. However, at the end of the room, past the teachers desk, was a set of peculiar statues. Each was of a young child, standing and facing the classroom. In each of their outside hands, they appeared to be holding a book. Their other hands, however, were each clad in a strange glove. These gloves nearly hummed with the power they resonated, drawing in a young shinobi, nearly calling out to him.

Mistaki Shio stood ready to answer their call.

Shio walked into the room, taking a moment to gauge it. Didn't seem to be anyone in the room. There was a bunch of dust though. Gross. Eyeing the gloves with the strange hum, Shio turned his back to them, walking slowly with his eyes fixed on the only entrance to the room. Boy if someone attacked him right now this would be sticky!

What a nice pair of gloves! Shio took them off the statues and slipped his hands into them, power reverberating through him. If he could speak he would be screaming right now about feeling the power.

But he could not speak.

Shame shame.

With that Shio departed. Victorious.
