[Beach Party] Celebrations

To say that Ren had been surprised at the prospect of a joint event between Iwa and Kiri would be an understatement, but nonetheless she was very excited at getting to not only meet new people but to explore a new land while she was at it, that land being the wondrous land of fountains, a place that was very different from her own homeland. To get into the spirit of the event she had even taken the opportunity to change outfits, having switched her usual clothes for a low-cut shirt and short shorts, wanting to take this rare opportunity to actually show off a bit, as she could never really have done back home.

Anyways, she was currently at the beach standing barefoot at the water's edge, enjoying the feel of the waves washing over her feet and watching over those currently playing together in the water's depths, a satisfied smile on her face. This was the sort of unity that she was working for, what she truly wanted to achieve, and it made her feel truly happy to get to witness such a thing firsthand.

Tenshi was currently hiding from the sun back in the shade of the palms growing along the edge of the beach. He couldn't understand how his fellow clansmen could stand being under that hot sun in warm water none the less. Or maybe they were circulating their hyouton chakra without anyone noticing. Despite being there on holiday as hunter he never actually took a day off. He was keeping himself occupied watching the festivities watching for someone to give away secrets they shouldn't. He was on a no kill assignment, so for the moment he'd have to bite his tongue and let the people screw up, taking down names and memorizing faces to find later. Not that anyone else would realize he's a hunter without his mask on.

It was during this observation he noticed the girl standing at the waters edge giving a similar glance as he was into the crowd. He was suspicious over her behavior and so decided to approach. He didn't recognize her and after having ready the dousier on every almost shinobi in his village there was a good chance she wasn't a kiri nin. He'd approach subtly or at least that was his original plan. Howevrr, as soon as he put his first foot down on the sand in the sun he yanked it back hopping on one foot in pain looking out at the others wondering how they could stand to walk on such a fiery substance.

Honestly Shinjiro had little desire to interact with anyone. While at first he had been optimistic about meeting Iwa shinobi and gauging their comparative strength and abilities he soon realized that sparring was not on the agenda, shinobi from each village were simply interacting with each other, most doing so rather awkwardly but a few pairs seemed to get along. It was a rather boring ordeal for the assassin who devoted most of his time to training, there had been a few occasions where he had enjoyed socializing, such as at the Water Festival back home but in a place like this he had no idea how to enjoy himself. Sighing, the teenaged Karagata walked along the beach, wearing only a green pair of swim shorts revealing his muscular body and excessive scarring even at his young age. At the very least he could try to get a bit of a tan, it should be easy to put on color given how pale his skin was. That is aside from his hands and forearms which took on a very peculiar charcoal colour, almost as if they had been tattooed black or perhaps burned to a crisp and never properly healed.

The young man’s vibrant green eyes scanned for anyone to interact with. He noted a objectively speaking attractive young woman near the water and also a tall dark haired young man by the treeline. As he stepped out, seemingly on an approach towards the woman he let out a yelp to which Shinji snickered as he moved towards the man. “Not a fan of the heat? Must be an Aisu…figures” he stated, looking him over and noting the piercing blue eyes and long black hair. Tell tale signs to be sure. Before even waiting for a response Shinji turned and began walking towards the red-haired woman. “Aren’t you coming? I’ve heard of getting cold feet but a little heat shouldn’t keep you from approaching a woman” he teased dryly. When it came to women or the idea of dating in general Shinji was indifferent. He could acknowledge attractive features but didn’t have any interest in pursuing them, most notably because for all of his bravado he had no idea how to act when it came to true intimacy.

"No need to be shy, ya know." Even as she looked out towards the sea, Ren's senses were at full focus all around her, her attention now focusing in on the pair of men awkwardly approaching her, finally speaking only as she turned to face the pair. It seemed that not only were these two absolute busybodies, they also didn't seem to know how to interact with women particularly well. It was cute really.

Anyways, from the look of them they appeared to be Kiri shinobi, though with how little she knew of Iwa and its people, she could have simply missed seeing them around, though judging from the looks of them it was much more reasonable to assume the former.

That said, she knew firsthand it was wrong to go off assumptions and really she was quite curious. "Hello boys, Kiri shinobi I presume?" she spoke, not seeming to mind the scalding sand herself as she walked over towards the pair, feeling it was much easier for her to approach them herself given the presumed awkwardness she could practically feel emanating off of them.

Embarrassing as it was Tenshi ignored the man's jibe as it irritated him more that his purpose in approaching was so misconstrued. He couldn't shut off his shinobi mind set so easily and the way she'd been observing the beach made him nervous. He got up and channeled hyouton chakra to the bottoms of his feet to keep them cool as he walked across the sand. Following behind his fellow Kiri nin, he'd approach the young woman.

As the girl spoke up as they approached, he'd open his mouth planning to introduce himself in the customary way for Kirigakure shinobi. He'd rapidly shut it however, realizing it'd more likely than not be a bunch of mumbo jumbo to the Iwa shinobi. Brushing his long raven locks out of his face he'd look her in the eyes as he spoke.

"Indeed you assume correctly. Why are you standing out here all alone just watching the fun? If, you don't mind me asking that is."

Though his words were blunt and straight forward, they weren't necessarily unfriendly just slightly off putting. Tenshi much like his jutsu was just cold in nature. There was a slight smile on his face and a genuine hint of curiosity showed in his eyes.

Shinji noted the way the man ignored his teasing, so he was one of those sorts then. There were many in Kirigakure that were taciturn and solemn. It was one of the many reasons why he rarely bothered to interact with anyone outside of his family or those he worked with. Most Kirigakure shinobi served only as stepping stones to get stronger, they were warriors and assassins, and thus far he hadn’t grown any significant emotional attachment to any of them. Of course that was just the way Vorashu wanted it, the Phantom beast seeping its influence into the boy like a toxin through the already murky waters of his soul. Over time it was likely that any regard for other humans would fade away entirely, leaving only a sense of duty and the desire to grow stronger, asserting himself above all others.

As the woman inquired about their allegiance and place of origin Shinjiro smirked in amusement. “Would be awkward if I wasn’t, I got these branded into me for a reason after all” he gestured with his thumbs to each of his shoulders as he grinned in a rather cocky manner. On his left was the symbol of Kirigakure and on the right the Kraken that represented the Karagata family. Both marks had been seared into his flesh with a hot iron, permanently scarring him as a show of devotion to his village and family. Given the hundreds, perhaps thousands of injuries he had sustained his body had become a tapestry of torture, conditioning him to the point where he hardly felt pain anymore and even the most agonizing experience could be met with only the faintest signs of discomfort. There had been no true childhood for him, raised to be an elite tool of Kirigakure since he had been taken from his mother as a toddler.

Ren simply tilted her head in confusion at Shinji's apparent cockiness.. or was it pride? There was no way to be sure, but either way she had no idea what he was possibly trying to refer to. Well, there wasn't much use in thinking about it. The important thing was that her assumptions had been correct, so she had to be on her absolute best behavior, not that she wouldn't be otherwise.

"I'm just marveling at how everyone is getting along so well, despite being no more than strangers or maybe mere acquaintances. It just goes to show how important cultivating relations like this can be. My dream is to strive for a peace much like this, and so it makes me very happy to see it even if just temporarily." she responded to Tenshi's question, turning and walking back towards the water's edge with a purposeful sway to her hips, watching the two out of the corner of her eye as she did, waiting and watching their every movement. She could tell that these two were very awkward, not just around the opposite sex, but in social situations in general. Perhaps in their time together, she could maybe break through and get them to soften up a bit? It shouldn't be too monumental of a task, surely. It would certainly be fun though.
