The village wasn't very large, in all honesty. As a farming settlement, much of the local residents resided on their own plots of land, coming into town daily to fraternize with travelers who did come through, or to conduct business with each other. As if on queue, a cart carrying bushels of grain passed by, being pulled by two oxen, who did so at a leisure pace. A friendly tip of his hat would be returned by the farmer riding the cart, as he passed by. A wholly nondescript village with a mostly forgettable name, with clones of it being able to be found anywhere in the country.... hell, anywhere in the world. Which, by coincidence, would make it the perfect location to supply a small force of soldiers covertly, or serve as a rendezvous spot for a mission concerning it.

Shikado pulled down the straw hat that covered his head, revealing his blonde hair to the sunlight. Looking up at the sun, he noted they we're semi-on time, which wasn't such a terrible thing. Looking to Shiina, he nodded at his cousin, and led the way as they proceeded towards the exact meeting spot, a small grill stall that possessed tables to sit at. Taking a seat, he'd wait for their counterpart, who was supposed to be a special jounin, sent from Kumohagakure, ordering some food while they waited.

Though her pride refused to allow for her to admit such a thing, Shiina was admittedly nervous about being so far from home, uncharacteristically sticking tight to her cousin as the pair made their way to a small village where they were to meet with another, a special jounin from Kumogakure. She had heard that the two villages were becoming much more friendly, with the Raikage himself having visited on several occasions to help broker peace, but a thing like this really cemented the fact that it seemed they were to have another ally, which she herself viewed as a very good thing.

Anywho, in what seemed like not much time at all they had arrived and made their way over to a small stall, taking a moment to look up towards the sky as she took her seat. "Dear cousin, we appear to be a little early. Or our new friend is late. Regardless, congratulations to us for being punctual eh?" she said with a sly grin, wondering meanwhile when exactly their new companion was to arrive. For the mission that they were undertaking it was best to start and finish as soon as possible.

Mission Impossible

For how many days had the spy been in this godforsaken country? How many hours had she been under disguise? For what purpose was it again? Oh yeah! To further the connection between the two countries... Geez, do I really have to look after two rookies? Rookies... Shit, maybe that was harsh... I mean... I used to be in their position once... Fine. Hotaru had been portraying a merchant in order to keep a check on activity, and lately she had seen a swarm of foreign soldiers make their way towards the market place in order to stock up on food and other various needs, she had managed to keep count on the new faces and old ones as well. What was more important now though was that she needed to meet up with the Chuunin sent as back up, for she knew that if she did this mission all by herself then she would most likely make a slip up. A thought that she hated.

So, under the guise of Yamoro, the brunnete merchant, she would act like the old geezer and make her way towards the grill. She had read up on her counterparts and taken the time to gather farmers clothes in order for them to fit in their environment as she expected them to most likely not have thought of it, though she wasn't certain, she just liked to stay one step ahead of everyone. Yamoro had been waiting for them for quite a while before hearing what sounded like two adolescent speak, that was his que to make an entrance. He turned around and smiled at the two obvious ninjas before he would walk up to their table.

"It's a nice afternoon to be out here in this lovely little village is that not right?" Yamoro inspected the duo and waited for them to either react to his presence but if they failed, which she honestly expected them to as she was so used to going deep cover that she would use the code phrase she hoped that they remembered. "Though this village isn't what it used to be, which is quite sad, don't you agree?" A smirk would grow on his face as he awaited their response, he would sit down on the meantime.

"More like we're exactly on time, Shiina." He said to her, as he settled down, placing his hat onto the table. Eyes scanning their surroundings by reflex rather than by will, the young chuunin finally allowed himself to partially relax, remembering the need to appear a dull and homely as possible. Looking down, he wondered if just wearing what he normally did off-duty was enough. A mesh-armor shirt and pants weren't entirely an uncommon style of dress in the world, and dressing as farmers may have brought more questions than that.

"Which, during work like this, isn't much better than being late." Their would be teammate was supposedly supposed to be a specialist in reconnaissance and clandestine missions, meaning it was entirely likely she'd been here hours, maybe even days before the two had arrived, collecting information that could be relevant to the mission. Something of this nature could easily go south in a dozen different ways, meaning it was crucial to maintain discretion.

Which, brought him to something that'd been residing in the back of his mind; why was Shiina assigned to the mission as well? She was a Nara, true, and their clan's hiden techniques certainly were good for covert actions, if applied correctly. But from what he'd read before the mission, and what few questions he'd been able to ask in the clan, she wasn't exactly a spy. She seemed more like direct, confrontational sort. Though her tone of speech would be surprising to most. "And I'd hold off on celebrations until the mission actually started..." His voice trailed off as an elderly man approached them, seemingly starting up a random conversation.

"Some would blame it on recent travelers." He responded, recognizing the beck and call that'd been established beforehand. "Though my sister and I are fairly new as well.", finishing the phrase. Shikado looked towards Shiina, nodding in confirmation that this should be their teammate.

"Well cousin, I suppose that you have a point but that just means we'll just have to try harder next time, won't we?" Shiina spoke with a raised brow and a frown, clearly disappointed in hearing what her cousin had to say. He was absolutely right. In a mission like this there wasn't really much of a choice but to arrive early if they wanted to maximize efficiency. And she had taken far too long getting ready before they had left, deliberating on how she should dress before ultimately sticking with her usual garb. So far there had been one failure, but nonetheless she wasn't about to let this one thing get her down. If anything, it only fired her up to practice for the future, so as not to make the same mistake again.

Her frown deepened as they were interrupted by an elderly man, eyes narrowing in a glare as she silently stared up at him, keeping her gaze locked on him even as he joined them at their table, staying silent as she let Shikado do the talking, nodding every once in a while. It was becoming increasingly apparent that this was to be the one they were meeting, but she wasn't at all happy about having had a conversation interrupted. And yet, she knew based on her own personality that if she spoke up now, the ruse would be ruined so she for now had no real choice but to stay silent.

Hotaru as Yamoro smiled and leaned forward as he greeted the two nins. "Well, I guess that it's about time we eat don't you say? I'm guessing we have got a lot to discuss and business for Kiyo over there isn't hot around these hours." The elder man winked, he pulled up his sleeves and looked around the table before slowly unrolling a scroll. "Now, from what I've seen, three guards come here every morning to pick up supplies, then they disappear in the woods. I haven't been able to talk to them and have not much information on them. " Hotaru was laying on the character thick, she knew that Yamoro was going to be ditched as soon as the trio came up with a solid plan.

Though for now the character would order food and drinks, offering to pay for the travelers as well. I've already earned a ton that I have no real use for. Yamoro chuckled and slapped the table, he knew that if he acted like he always did then no one would keep an eye out on him. Hotaru knew that she was the one in charge but for once she would try to see what their suggestions might be, she wanted to know why Konoha would send these two ninjas for she was certain that Kumogakure could take care of this situation on their own, though, she was still intrigued over this co-joint mission. Maybe I can work with their black ops in the future... Though she knew that she could never say a word about her organization, the thought alone frightened her as she didn't want to freeze up.

"It's already past noon. Me and my sister ate on the way here." He said, keeping up with the front till the waitress departed with the old man's order. He'd then lean over the table relaxing his shoulders, and appearing nonchalant, as if he had nothing particular on his mind. "You've been here longer than us, you must've seen the direction or trail they came from."

"We could try tracking them from there. Or, we coudl wait till tomorrow, and follow from there. We aren't crunched for time, so there sin't really any rush to any of this. But the quicker, the better." He looked towards Shiina, noting the displeasure apparent on her face. She was bothered, maybe by the old man. By now she should have been able to catch on that this was there teammate, so that left Shikado with few other assumptions to make.

"We'd also get the chance to find out each others talents and weaknesses, make the entire thing run smoother."
