[PB] Escape the Labyrinth

Post by Zao » Tue Jan 01, 2019 5:57 pm

The two white haired men were still knelt beside the man, both slightly pale due to the use of chakra in order to just stop the bleeding from the injuries sustained by the fellow Suna-nin, the man’s robes and hands were stained with blood as a small puddle of sticky crimson life essence could be found under the pair on the grey stone floor. His chest heaved up and down, even with his thin frame and loose robes this was evident as the man had managed to close off the bleeding from the four nubs that were onces the jounin’s limbs. Though stopping the bleeding would not save his friends life, he’d lost to much blood and Zao had only completed the first step now as the clone looked at him and nodded as it would no longer be of any use and the original could use the leftover chakra right about now that was remaining within it. Poof! A cloud of chakra smoke would accompany the disappearance of the clone and a moment later the pale faced young man had some color return to his lightly tanned face now, it was a decent amount but not enough that he felt fully recovered by any means.

Sometimes to save someone else the other had to sacrifice a little, this was an accurate description of the Blood Transfer technique as the slender fingers of the Suna nin’s right hand as he removed a kunai from the thigh holster as he targeted a large vein that was near the armpit area before he made a small incision into Li’s body which opened up the vein. Now with it open a small trickle of dark red blood could be seen letting him know that he was on track now as he placed the weapon down and pushed the right palm flush against the small wound and began to channel chakra into the hand which caused hazy sea green chakra to form around the palm that then began to seep into the wound. This was a specialized technique that allowed for one to dilute their own blood to essentially transfer blood from their body into the patient’s body. After a period of time passed Zao felt the vitals of the young man before him stabilizing as his breathing while still shallow was becoming more normal, at least for the situation his friend found himself in after such trauma.

A bit light headed the man allowed for himself to fall backwards onto his butt now exhaling a long, slow breath...all of that time spend at the hospital learning Iijutsu had come to fruition now and the results were that Li was still alive. Though as he looked down at the childlike body of his comrade he couldn’t help but feel that the man’s life would be changed forever now, would he even be able to continue being a shinobi? How did one recover mentally from such a thing? Sighing now he would remove his outer robe that was stained to the point that it was as much or more red than it was white at this point, leaving the slender man’s upper torso exposed now as a number of different tattoo’s could be seen upon his body, the most notable being the two that covered the man’s arms from the shoulder down onto the fingers. Rolling up the fine cloth robe and attempting to keep the cleaner side up it used it to create a makeshift pillow to prop up the unconscious man’s head at this point, knowing that everything else would be on Li as he’d done everything within his own realm of powerful to ensure that he didn’t die from the wounds themselves.

Placing the left hand on its same side knee the man then started to stand, a bit wobbly as he tried but able to none the less as he looked from right to left, his two spirit companions still stood a vigilant watch over him now, though Tarou’s time was soon coming to an end in this realm. “My two friends, thank you for watching over me. Tarou-sama, go return and rest, Toge and I shall deal with the rest of the clean up here.” The old ape gave a nod of its head as it looked back once more across the former arena towards the elephant who was conscious now but still remain unmoving just starting upwards at the vast ceiling above them before turning to gaze at the octopus that appeared to just barely be still alive at this point. “As you wish, master.” There was an unwillingness to his tone in the deep words the old spirit spoke, but in the end he closed his eyes and returned back to the white haired man’s personal realm now leaving just Toge with the Suna nin. With a flip of the right hand now a small one foot tall and one foot diameter pot would appear atop the bloody finger and palm of Zao’s hand now, a sealing pot.

At first when the crystal blue gaze fell upon the spirit and the purple blood that leaked from its wounds, the first thought had been to extract the pain he felt within his heart for the injuries that creature had imposed upon his friend and to simply kill off the beast. Yet, as he stared at the weak spirit now who only had three of its legs remaining intact he felt that perhaps this creature would be better suited for another life. There was a certain experimental technique that he’d been working on in which he was attempted to use his abilities at creating powerful Tsuki weapons to combine it with a form of permanent possession, fusing a spirit into a puppet to create a living puppet to fight for him. No one dared to look down upon a puppet as its hidden weapons and mechanisms often made fighting them difficult if not down right dangerous. But if he was able to truly combine a spirit with a puppet, just what kind of strength would that add to his arsenal of companions? This thought was one for another time as he was calculating his chakra as he stepped toward the unconscious creature and sat the vase down gentle before forming a series of hand seals.

Powerful maroon chains erupted from the inside of the post as the shot out to entangle the weak spirit now, rapidly pulling him into the container as he didn’t have the strength in order to put up even a small fight to the sealing technique. After a few moments the seals on the outside of the container would begin to glow and the lid levitated on its own returning to the top of the sealing pot as the fuuin diagrams spread from each side onto the lid completing the sealing. With a wave of his hand the pot disappeared as it was sent back into his realm to await his return, it was to bad that some strange force kept him from leaving this labyrinth with his friend via space-time. He could see the elephant which was awake but simply laying flat on its back at this point, not moving but continuing to stare upwards as though it was unsure of what to think of its current situation. It was now bound to the white haired kid, but it didn’t feel upset but more confused about where his life would go from now having only known this place for the majority of his life. Not sure whether or not to feel happy or sad about what was going to happen next.

Returning to the side of his friend the young man sent mental words to his new companions, “Your name was Kingu?” The large eyes of the spirit elephant seemed to casually shift its black eyes over towards where the Tenku user was seated next to his injured companion resting. “Yes, my full name is Zoukingu, a member of the emperor elephants.” The pair began to converse back and forth mentally through the link provided by the high level sealing technique Zao had placed upon the large spirit now, though the conversation he learned a little about the maze and the background of the elephant. Finding out that they had made it onto the sixth out of eight floors of the death trap, having been teleported here when the maze master wanted for them to fight the octopus spirit had himself at once, feeling the other levels of the max would not be enough to truly challenge the pair of men and their spirit companions, but the mysterious figure had underestimated the strength of them.

Allowing himself some time to recover, the young man couldn’t help but look down helplessly at the limbless young man before him, traversing the remainder of the journey would be even more perilous with the man in this condition. Folding his legs before him as he set in the lotus position, Zao began to think long and hard about the problem ahead of him now, what was the best solution for the immediate time. He only had one idea that might work, but it was something that he was still working to perfect and he wasn’t sure he if the man’ body was strong enough to survive being transformed into a puppet nor did he know if Li would prefer death over such a desperate decision. But then something else occurred to him, he didn’t know of any medical techniques that could regrow his limbs but he’d known of a shinobi with a similar injury that had his limbs replaced with puppet limbs. It wasn’t as complicated as creating a human puppet but he would need to recover more chakra in order to attempt a surgery like that, as he let his chakra slowly return Zao removed a scroll and unrolled it on the floor next to him not covered in drying blood.

Inside the scroll was a number of puppets replacement part, something he’d purchased from another puppet user when he had just started learning about puppetry and designing his own puppets, within was a set of average puppet limbs. They weren’t anything special and definately would limit the man’s mobility but at the very least he’d be able to walk and move like a normal person. After recovering enough to not only physically be able to accomplish the feat but also enough mental energy to keep the needed amount of intense focus, Zao would begin now. A while later the man collapsed back down onto his backside once more, he’d done it, he’d managed to connect the chakra system of Li’s wounded limbs into the puppet arms and legs now. By this time the elephant had recovered enough himself to move as he moved a little closer and had watched as the man could have killed him worked with such delicate finger movements to help his friend walk again.

Perhaps this man would provide him with an interesting life, he’d been told by the man that when he neared the end of is life that Kingu and the others would be sent back to their home realms. Until then the honorable warrior would serve the man to the fullest extent of his abilities The golden vine reverted back to its normal size at this point and the elephant and the golden vine looked over the two men as the white haired man’s head dropped forward as exhaustion had quickly caught back up with him and sleep overcame him now. Most likely he’d sleep until his friend awoke...

Xiao Li did not know how long he had been out for, nor was he sure that he had remembered everything correctly, what he did know, however, was that he had been having horrid nightmares the entire time he had been out cold. He had been reliving the instant that his limbs had been ripped off over and over again, but instead of falling into the depths of the watery abyss, Xiao Li had continuously fallen into the octopus spirit's mouth where he unendingly experienced the pain of being ground apart by the spirit's teeth. However, unknown to Xiao Li, the pain he had been experiencing was caused by the extensive work that Zao had been performing to save his life. His skin had been flayed, his tendons pulled apart, his bones altered, and even his chakra network had been changed. All in an effort to save not only Xiao Li's life but to also save his life as a shinobi of the village hidden within the sand.

When Xiao Li finally woke he sat up without realizing anything had changed and even believed, for a split second, that losing his limbs had simply been a nightmare. That was until he looked down and saw the puppet limbs that Zao had given him. Seeing the changes to his body, and realizing that losing his limbs had not been a nightmare but had, in fact, been reality, almost made Xiao Li completely lose his mind. His body completely froze as he stared down at himself attempting to process everything that had happened to him, and attempting to keep his sanity. As Xiao Li sat lost in thought he slowly began to move the tips of his fingers, and then his toes. From there he began to move every inch of his newly acquired limbs. As he adjusted to controlling his new prosthetics Xiao Li began to laugh madly until it turned into an intense sobbing and eventually began screaming at the top of his lungs. This went on for about ten minutes before he finally stopped. Without speaking Xiao Li retrieved his puppet sealing scroll and unsealed all of the parts that he had gathered up until that point. He then began to tinker on the limbs that Zao had given him. Because he would have to live with these limbs for the rest of his world, Xiao Li was going to alter them to aid him in battle. He began with his left forearm, mainly because he was right-handed, and would dig through his pile of parts any time he felt like he needed something. After about an hour Xiao Li had finished tinkering with his left arm and began building what would later become a Gatling gun.

After he had completed building the gun Xiao Li began to form hand seals and used his chakra strings to operate on the back of his newly acquired right arm. Xiao Li used his chakra strings to pull apart his new arm where his shoulderblade had once been and installed his newly built Gatling gun into the arm. Upon activating the Gatling gun it came out of his arm and perched on top of his right shoulder. The Gatling gun then began to fire Katon blasts at the wall near Xiao Li, however, afterward it began to fire Fuuton blasts. Xiao Li then began to fire one Katon blast and then a Fuuton blast in order to make sure everything was working as he had planned. Once the Gatling gun had returned to the inside of his right shoulder blade Xiao Li finally turned to look at Zao. He walked in front of his friend and fell to his knees on the ground before kowtowing three times. "From this day forth I will heed your call no matter what you ask of me. You have not only saved my life, but you have also saved my life as a shinobi. You have always been a good friend to me, and I will never be able to repay this life debt. Simply call my name and I will heed your call." Xiao Li spoke with the utmost respect to Zao, and would treat the man as he would the Kazekage from that day forth.

[PB] Escape the Labyrinth

Post by Zao » Sat Jan 05, 2019 10:02 pm

Though his master had fallen asleep, the slender golden thorn vine was ever vigilant as it was continuously on the watch for the elephant to get frisky, even though it understood that due to the binding technique Zao had used upon it that it couldn’t do so the plant spirit still felt it should stay on guard. Only Toge and Kingu knew the true amount of time that the two shinobi were silently asleep before the injured young man began to finally come around after several hours of restless sleep, part of which was induced because of the procedure conducted on him by the white haired scholar. Even as the ninja began to scream as he was able to actually understand that everything he had hoped was a terrible nightmare was actually reality, the screaming didn’t awaken the still exhausted man. Instead at first the screams entered into his mind and were like the dream that his young friend had been having except from his own perspective.

It was him attempting to reach his friend before the spirit tore off each of the ninja’s limbs in one go, each time he thought he had gotten their in time the tentacles would rip off the man’s limbs and that same terrible, heart shattering scream would leave Li’s lips. But finally the man started to come to realizing that the screaming was coming from his friend who seemed to have snapped after coming to the realization of all the events that had occurred. He quickly moved his body, or at least attempted to do so, only to find that his body was sluggish and still felt exhausted from the exertion of physical energy and mental energy of saving the fellow Suna nin’s life and then performing such a stressful and precise surgery in this environment. After about ten seconds the white haired scholar was finally able to shift his weight forward from a sitting position into a half kneeling position as each of his slender hands fell onto his friend’s shoulder.

Giving him a gentle shake, Zao attempted to break the man free from the shock that he was experiencing but even after giving the man a slap on the face he quickly came to the realization that this was something that Li would have to overcome in his mind. Sadly, there didn’t appear to be anything else that he could do for the man but wait and hope that this would cripple him mentally, it would be up to the will power of the man to pull himself out of this state and calm down. After a few minutes the glossy look in Li’s eyes began to fade and almost simultaneously the screaming would also come to an end, but the glossy look was overtaken by an almost blank stare now and the body seemed to be moving on autopilot as a scroll was retrieved from a number of puppet parts and pieces were expelled, some were parts that he’d gathered over his time as a puppeteer and the rest were the ones that he’d gathered with Zao in the arena after defeating the golem.

Exhaling slowly, the man knew that whatever zone that his friend’s mind was currently working in that it would be best to allow for it to run its course as he allowed for himself to fall back onto his bum, allowing each hand to come to rest on either knee. Zao was still focused on recovering himself physically and mentally at the moment, that was because he knew that there were another two floors. Though he wasn’t to worried as he now had contracted the help of the elephant spirit who knew a good deal about the maze and its floors, but what did have him a bit concerned was that there was another guardian whom Kingu said was stronger than him. He also had a strange feeling about the labyrinth master as well, this person seemed to be able to use space-time and was able to manipulate the path for them making it either less or more difficult, yet from what he’d come to understand was that there were certain rules he followed. Was this individual another spirit or perhaps a human, but Kingu also said that this mysterious figure had been in charge of this portion of the wall for as long as he could remember, which had been a few centuries.

This led Zao to believe that this stranger was perhaps a spirit but it was known to him that certain special bodies, such as elemental bodies or even puppet human bodies, were capable of living for much longer periods of time due to the preservation method used for their cores. A light smile crept onto the thin lips of the man’s face that was speckled with droplets of now dried blood, this was Li’s method of coping with the tragic and mentally harsh events that he’d underwent. The smile remained on his face as the bright blue eyes fluttered shut one more as he was overcome with a wave of exhaustion causing him to fall back into a light sleep. The next thing that the man would know would be the sound of the new gatling gun that Li had constructed firing now as he quickly snapped open his eyes and looked around to pinpoint the strange and new sound. Shaking his head a little the man’s vision which was slightly blurring returned to normal and what he saw was the child-like figure of his friend retracting the new weapon into the now personalized left arm before heading over his way.

My friend…” As Li would walk in front of him and fall onto both knees, starting to kowtow Zao shook his head and started to speak, using his left hand to force himself into a half kneeling position one more either the right knee down on the hard stone floor. His slender right hand would find itself onto the left shoulder of his friend’s now as he started to come back up from his second kowtow. Using enough strength to stop him from coming back down for a third now as he smiled at the man’s ultimate gesture of respect, “...I made a promise to myself in the spirit realms, when I was trapped there unable to save those three young shinobi. That if I made it back I would ensure that I would use all my power to ensure such a fate would not befall any of my other friend.” The hand on the man's right shoulder would come off the shoulder now and give the left side of Li’s face a light slap, “Just consider me your friend, that will be all the thanks I need from you.” Zao shook his head and smiled before forcing himself into a slightly wobbly standing position. “You seem to be able to move your body better than I thought you’d be able to my friend.

A cheerful look on his face, the scholar would speak out to Li, seeming rather impressed that the man was able to control the puppet limbs with such nimble and precise types of movements after just waking up. He had thought that perhaps the average quality of the limbs he created for his friend would hold him back, but from what he’d seen so far he couldn’t help but wonder if it was something on Li’s side that was allowing for him to do this. “Toge, you can return now. Thank you for keeping watch over the two of us.” His bright eyes shifted to the slender golden thorn vine that was curled up like a snake between the two men and the elephant that was thirty or forty meters away against the nearby wall also resting. Across the room from them a door had opened up some time after the realm summoning had been dissolved and it appeared to be a set of stairs that went up to the next level. For the first time Zao was able to see it now as the slender plant returned into his left sleeve now feeling the warm of its master’s skin upon its body and the dried blood upon it, which the plant actually started to absorb from his skin. Toge was after all a rare carnivorous plant.

After a short while, where to two men were better rested he turned to Kingu who appeared to be meditating and spoke aloud to him, “Kingu-sama, you should take this time to return and see your family. We’ll meet again later where I will finish things between us.” The old elephant seemed to open his aged eyes to glance at the two tiny men a short distance away from him now, “Heh, you truly are a unique human, little Zao. Till we meet again, try not to die, the gate guardian is not on the same level as the octopus and myself…” With those last words a cloud of chakra smoke signaled the departure of the large elephant spirit now and all that was left were the two men. “Shall we, my friend?” A confident look formed on the blue eyed man’s face, this was the last step to escaping this place and being able to complete the task they had came here for….

Xiao Li smiled weakly at his friend's words before rising to his feet beside the man. "You did an amazing job. It's as if I was born with these arms and legs that you gave me. There is a slight bit of lag when I try to use the gun I installed into my arm, but once I get used to the feeling I believe the lag will go away." His voice was shaky, and his body was still pale, both signs that Xiao Li was still recovering from the massive blood loss. As Zao conversed with his companions Xiao Li began to look around for his own companion. He had just noticed that he had not seen Baruch in quite some time and began to panic. However, once the stairs revealed themselves so did Baruch. The master of the maze had recognized that the creature was much weaker than the shinobi, and was nothing more than a pet, and so had moved to protect the creature. He had determined that should both of the shinobi die he would release Baruch into Juu no Kuni so that he may live as a wild animal, but upon seeing the two spirits be defeated he released the animal back to the two shinobi.

Xiao Li's heart swelled once he laid his eyes on Baruch and the tiny dragon lizard rushed to his master's outstretched hands. The thought of losing Baruch had made Xiao Li realize just how much he cared about his pet and vowed that he would protect and train Baruch so that he may one day protect himself. After turning back to his friend Zao, and realizing that the man had finished taking care of his companions, Xiao Li turned back towards the stairs and the Gatling gun hidden in his arm once more appeared on his shoulder. "I have a feeling that what awaits us at the top of these stairs will determine whether we leave this maze or not." Xiao Li began to move towards the stairs as he spoke and the gun on his shoulder constantly swiveled side to side, ready to fire at a moments notice.

[PB] Escape the Labyrinth

Post by Zao » Sun Jan 13, 2019 11:00 pm

I suppose all that time I’ve spent working at the hospital since I got back from the spirit realm really paid off this time.” The man spoke in reply to his comrade now, a light hearted chuckle escaping his lips as he spoke now, luckily he’d not only been able to just save the man’s life but also restore his ability to move and continue the life of a shinobi. Though it could not all be placed on him, even with his high level of skill in the art of Iijutsu, Li shouldn’t have been able to so smoothly transition into using the limbs. Perhaps it was something unique to the man’s body and it could also have something to due with the young man’s innate ability to build and use puppets. Due to this combination of things and a possibly other unknown factors the white haired man’s comrade was ready to go after dealing with the acceptance of losing his limbs and choosing to get through that period by crafting a powerful cannon like weapon that was able to be concealed within the arm.

Zao couldn’t help but sigh a bit to himself, even though he was a extremely powerful ninjutsu user and had a handful of strong companions he was still lacking when it came to his puppet knowledge, but it was something that could only be improved with training, research, and time. His bright eyes looked over towards the staircase in the distance now a small dot appeared and rapidly moved towards the two men, yet after a few moments it became obvious what the unknown flying object truly was: Li’s little dragon lizard. It would seem that sometime during the battle between the two men and the two spirits that the creature had been teleported away from the chaos and to a more stable place. This single thought caused for the man’s eyes to widen, though he’d been focused on the battlefield he shouldn’t have missed a distortion in the space-time of the area, but whomever this mysterious maze master was had did just that.

Just what level of strength and skill was this person or creature at to be able to do something right in front of the scholar and for him to now even notice even a slight difference. While some might not understand why this was such a scary thing, a space-time user like the newly reinstated jounin was able to understand just what the proper use of powerful space-time was capable of. Most likely this figure, at leas in his ability with the space and time bending arts, was above the level of even a Kage, what a terrifying figure this stranger must be. Luckily the old elephant had told Zao that the Master was bound by a number of rules which kept it from forcibly interfering with how the maze was designed to operate, this would be an opponent that the blue eyed man definitely did not wish to face now or any time in the future.

With Li reunited with his tiny companion, the man adjusted his gaze back towards the stairwell which seemed to stretch upwards to a point where one was unable to see the other end of it, it also had a strange off white glow to the stone which was used to build the staircase. Everything within the maze hidden within the great wall that separated the mysterious country from the rest of the world was unique or one of a kind...just what awaited the pair on the inside of this wall. There was only one way to discover this and that was to survive this stairway and arrive at the gate guardian of this section of the wall now, a task which was guaranteed to not be easy for the pair. “Yes, it must be the location of the Guardian which the old elephant spoke of to me. But I do not think that we’ll just be allowed to casually walk up those stair. Be on guard my friend and if your new limbs start to hinder you let me know.

The stairway was about two kilometers long and ascended upwards at nearly a forty five degree angle, with each step being a meter tall and a meter wide while the actually stairway was about fifty meter in width with a ceiling that seemed to be three or four hundred meters tall just from their first glance. Such a massive stairway seemed to built for giants or fiend gods, not for humans yet weren’t the former residences of Juu also humans? The way the entire structure was built was confusing for the educated mind of the scholar as he moved with his friend to the first step and lifted his bright blue gaze to stare upwards wondering what challenges stood between them and the top step. For the two men the stairway consisted of two thousand individual stairs and every hundred stairs a ‘trap would activate, the traps at first would be extremely simple such as pit falls or senbon/kunai launchers.

Let’s begin our journey to the top, my friend!” A handful of words, instilled with confidence now as he formed a hand seal allowing some chakra to spread out throughout his chakra system which caused for the man’s bright blue eyes to slightly glow now. Without his white robes which had been used earlier, the man’s slender arms were revealed as he wore only a sleeveless white shirt that was splotched with dirt and blood. Each arm adorned in fuuin tattoos and on either wrist could be found his pair of spirit pets which were both resting but also on guard for what might come next for the pair. When both men began to ascend their first obstacle was large pitfall that occurred when they reached the one hundredth step as several steps in front and behind fell to reveal a seemingly bottomless pit that was filled with nothing but darkness below them.

Though as long as both were on guard it would be easy to notice the slight tremor which happened before the stone stairs actually fell and they’d be able to quickly advance or move to the nearest wall for safety. Zao himself would leap forward just barely being able to make it to the stair further in front of him that hadn’t fell with the rest, quickly looking over to ensure that his comrade was able to safety move through the first obstacle. At the two hundredth stair the pair would be assaulted by a cloud of senbon from both sides which would force the man to create a barrier of chakra to defend himself while Li would be covered by this barrier. Next was the three hundredth stair which activated a series of kunai and arrow launchers that assaulted the pair from a number of angles which forced the man to rely on his spirit rose and her powerful sand kinesis to save them from the wave of steel and wood.

But as the duo was prepared for something to happen on the four hundredth stair, they were surprised as nothing happened but this was a slightly false sense of hope as the four hundred and the five hundredth were linked together and as the two men would reach the latter stair a series of small drones about a meter in size could be heard buzzing above the two men. Descending from a height of a hundred or so meters above them was twenty five insect like constructs that were able to move and dodge with a speed of around twenty five to thirty and were capable of launching kunai and senbon at a similar speed and strength down upon the men. They would have to fight through this swarm of insect constructs to be able to advance any further now, "That's different..."

[PB] Escape the Labyrinth

Post by Gara » Mon Jan 14, 2019 12:36 am

As they rushed up the stairs Xiao Li could not help but notice how his friend Zao seemed to be looking out for him how one would a younger sibling, or even their child. This made him smile and laugh inwardly to himself. It seemed his friend really felt that Xiao Li was overestimating himself, and was pushing his new limbs too much. However, shortly after they passed the four-hundredth step the two shinobi were immediately ambushed by what Xiao Li could only call wasp puppets. A wicked smirk appeared on Xiao Li's face as he placed his hand on his friend's left arm, motioning him to stop moving. "Allow me to handle this, brother." The Gatling gun on Xiao Li's shoulder began to make a low whirring sound as it began to spin increasingly fast. He knew that he could have begun firing his gun immediately, but he wanted to be sure that all of the drones had appeared before doing so. Once Xiao Li was sure that no other puppets were coming, he began to fire Fuuton projectiles that flew through the air at a speed, and with a strength of thirty-five. These senbon-sized projectiles moved faster than the wasps were able to, and with the number, and rate of projectiles that Xiao Li was firing, the puppets had no hope of dodging anyway.

As the drones were shredded to bits by Xiao Li he looked at his friend with a huge shit-eating grin on his face, obviously proud of the gun he has installed into the arm his friend had given him. "What do you think? Nice addition to the arm huh?" Xiao Li laughed boisterously as the gun stopped firing and a barrier extended outwards ten feet around him and Zao. The barrier was obviously generated from a mechanism that Xiao Li had installed in his left forearm, and formed a dome that covered the two shinobi, even as Xiao Li began to move forward. As the two shinobi continued to move up the stairs Xiao Li's barrier deflected numerous bouts of kunai and senbon that were fired from secret openings in the walls. As they reached the seven-hundredth stair Xiao Li even used his barrier like a batting ram to push six gorilla-like constructs into a pitfall trap that had appeared. The more traps he faced the better a mood Xiao Li seemed to be in. As he moved further up the staircase, Xiao Li constantly thought of new mechanisms that he could install into his arms and legs. He knew that he would be looked down upon and judged when he returned to the village due to body modification. However, as a puppeteer, the new limbs were like a gift from the gods. Xiao Li was in heaven, and never even knew that the puppet prosthetics were something that he would want so badly.

[PB] Escape the Labyrinth

Post by Zao » Mon Jan 14, 2019 9:45 pm

Zao had noticed throughout their journey up the stair case of death that his fellow Suna-nin, even with the recent addition of the puppet limbs, seemed to be able to match him step for step as though it was before the accident. The man though couldn’t help but sigh out loud as he first heard the buzzing sound released by the flying insect golems that descended upon the pair from above, though it hadn’t caught him completely off guard he knew that dealing with a large number of individual targets was more difficult for him than if it would have been a true swarm that stuck close together. As the man was pondering how best to deal with these new threats that closed in on the pair, the voice of his friend could be heard as Li called out to him, wishing to allow for him to handle this now. Was he truly recovered enough to fight?

This was something that worried the white haired scholar as he actually glanced away from the threat before them, as the shifting of puppet parts filled the ear on the left side of Zao’s face now. His bright blue eyes fell back upon the elemental launcher style mechanism that the puppet master had crafted after coming out of the tremendous level of shock of losing all his limbs in one go. A low whirling sound began to hum from the gatling gun as it started to spin increasingly fast as the jounin was forced to turn his attention back to the flying puppets that seemed to number around twenty or so in total now. Exhaling slowly the man formed a single hand seal as his body started to faintly glow with an outline of bright blue chakra, he was building up some chakra in order to allow for himself to help Li fight back these strange contraptions. But just as he was about to form hand seals the launcher of his friend began to fight small senbon made of wind that rapidly assaulted the drones which weren’t as fast or durable enough to take a hit from the mechanism.

‘Amazing, that launcher is so powerful. I wonder how much of a toll it takes on Li.’ Zao couldn’t help but smile as his comrade was able to shoot down each and every one of the twenty five total drones which had attempted to evade and even launched a few projectiles down upon the pair forcing them to dodge from one side to the other to keep from being hit. The small needles were dark in color as the pair of the stone that they hit seemed to slowly turn black as the weird poison on them was able to even affect the stone they walked upon just what would it have done to one of them if they would have gotten hit? It was a scary thought, the maze was truly a death trap filled with so many things which wished to take the life of anyone who entered. As the launcher did its work Zao would find himself shifting his gaze from the flying golems to the launcher as it was able to move where ever the young shinobi willed it, like it was a simple extension of the man’s body rather than something he’d just created.

“That was awesome, Li!” His excitement for his friend was obvious and it caused for his normally calm voice to be a bit elevated as he spoke in reply to the fellow Suna-nin now taking a moment to calm himself before continuing to speak.“ The speed and power of your elemental senbon are probably close to an S-class technique and the rate of fire you managed to achieve there was truly scary.” With a laugh he turned to inspect the golem puppets but before he could approach them they exploded one after the other leaving now parts to even savage from any of them which frustrated the mature man who wanted to take come of the golem’s back to study how they were controlled and their construction. Soon after the pair began to advance once against as Li would activate another mechanism he’d created earlier which was a powerful barrier that originated from the left forearm. It was powerful enough to block a large number of kunai and senbon that fell like rain at the six hundredth step and when the pair reached the seven hundredth step the stairs in front of them and behind them fell off forming large pits on either side of them now while from the walls secret passage ways opened up.

A total of six large gorilla like would emerge and quickly move to assault to pair being of similar strength to the drones but more so developed for physical attacks at close range when compared to the long range wasp style golems from earlier. Li rammed those closest to him in a head on manner which actually forced them into the pitfall while a golden vine swept out from the man’s left arm and smashed into the closest ones to him. Toge hadn’t held back in the least and attacked with full strength in that moment as the golems were bisected and were knocked into the pit behind them. “These golems are truly interesting. They aren’t being controlled with strings like we control puppets, nor are they being used with bound spirits. Some other type of energy is being used to mobilize and control them.” He spoke out loud these thoughts of his friend now as things began to settle after the brief bout against the golems and his gaze swept across the pit before them and onto the last three hundred stairs now as he could finally see a ‘light’ at the end of their tunnel.

This ‘light’ was a large golden door that seemed to have something inscribed upon it but from this range the two men wouldn’t be able to make out what it was just yet. Each of the man were unable to leap directly across the vast pit this time and their tree climbing skill wouldn’t work on the chakra neutralizing surface that made up the stairs and walls. Shaking his head he turned to Li and spoke, “Hold on my friend, let me handle this one.” With a light chuckle about having repeated the words that his friend had told him a short while ago large, angelic wings of chakra grew steadily out of the center of the man’s back now allowing for him to fly. Reaching out weight his left hand for the jounin to grab he would then proceed to carry the man across the expanse and onto the solid stone steps on the opposing side now. Landing Zao would cancel the technique to refrain from expending to much chakra needlessly.

Each knew that on the eight hundredth step there was most likely going to be another trap and from the pattern which had been shown thus far it would probably be the most dangerous one to date for the pair of young men. “Ready to continue?” Though danger was right in front of them and both of them knew that, they truly had now other direction to go but up at his point. The two men would be able to rest for a moment before then continuing forth as a short while later the pair would climb or jump up onto that dangerous eight hundredth step now. From either side secret doors opened up that were five meters in size and two black python like snakes shot out from the walls before the stone doors would close behind the two golems. Each wasn’t a true snake but something akin to a puppet now as they pushed forward, the serpent constructs were pitch black in color and appeared to be covered with powerful scales as they moved at a speed and strength of thirty five.

The two golems were each three meters wide and thirty meters in length as they would attempt to strike out with their powerful tails, coil around, and constrict the two men, even baring their mouth full of curved teeth which would shred a human if they managed to bite down on them. Zao turned his back so that he could be back-to-back with Li at this movement and the golden vine on his left arm uncurled itself allowing for about five meters worth to extend into the air like a magical thorn covered whip. With a powerful slash of the spirit pet now the serpent that was slithering rapidly towards him was smashed backwards as it flew back towards the wall, yet only a small mark appeared on its forehead. Though it wasn’t overly strong it seemed to be incredibly durable, enough that it could take the strength of Toge’s amazing strength and not break on the first hit. “This is going to be troublesome…”

As soon as Xiao Li caught sight of the snake-like golems he immediately began firing not only his Katon projectiles but his Fuuton projectiles as well. Although the golems appeared to have the same speed as his projectiles they were unable to dodge the unending barrage of senbon-like attacks, however, they did block them pretty effortlessly. While Xiao Li kept up the unending barrage of elemental attacks he began to condense a large amount of Tenkujutsu chakra within his right forearm which actually caused the prosthetic to glow with a maroon colored light. Due to constantly firing his Gatling gun mechanism Xiao Li was unable to condense the needed chakra as quickly as he would like and was forced to do so at a much slower pace. He was, however, pleased to see that his barrier was holding up against the golems' attacks much better than he had anticipated. "Quite the predicament we are in this time huh? My barrier seems to be holding up pretty well, but these things seem damn near indestructible. You see any weak spots on these things Zao?" As he yelled over the obnoxiously loud whirring noises of his mechanism Xiao Li finally found something that he did not like about it and vowed to himself that he would find a way to make it completely silent if it was at all possible.

(I realize it has been two months, and I apologize for that, but life has really been shit lately. However, I put a down payment on a new place to live today (friday) and so i am hoping things will get better from here. I am really going to do my best to be active again)

The snake like golem which had been batted backwards by Toge seemed to have become stunned for a moment after impacting the impregnable wall behind it now, yet Zao couldn’t help but frown as his bright blue eyes remained locked on the creature. With his sensory technique activated he was able to sense that these golems were a bit different from the other ones which were rather mindless and filled with only a small portion of chakra. Each of these held a rather good portion of chakra that was more than most average jounin had managed to build themselves up to have training for many years. “How troublesome…” As his own foe was recovering and starting to advance once more towards him he couldn’t help but glance over his right shoulder, twisting his head just enough to see how things were unfolding behind him with Li.

Zao views this man as he would a younger brother, despite their not really being much of any gap in age between the two despite the differences in appearance. But the man couldn’t help but worry a bit, especially considering how the shinobi would still be getting use to operating the new puppet based body that had been used to sustain his life. “I’d say so my friend.” Hearing the words coming from his friend now the snow white haired shinobi allowed a light hearted laugh to slip between those thin lips on his face. “At most, they seem to be very durable but not overwhelmingly strong. With must either bind them in some manner or just whittle away at their strong defenses until they crumble…” While the golem bodies of the two were obviously very durable they weren’t on the same level as the stone walls of this maze and thus Zao felt confident that over time one should be able to break them down.

Without even realizing it, Li’s elemental gatling gun style launcher that the Suna-nin had created out of some sort of spark of insight from his crazed mind after the puppet transformation, was probably one of the best suited weapons for breaking down these said defenses. While they weren’t strong enough to actually break directly through the powerful structure of the snake golem he was battling, the effects would start to become very apparent. Being under the constant bombardment of the weapon Li would be able to see that damage starting to accumulate upon the body of the puppet, though randomly firing at different parts would only slow down the process. But if the man chose to focus fire the weapon the damage would pile up very quickly and before long the projectiles would breach the durable outer shell of the golem. Yet, the only problem would be would the puppet body user have the chakra to continuously sustain such a barrage of elemental projectiles and would the barrier hold up as the snake’s tail began to attempt to slam into the barrier in an effort to break through and get to its prey.

After the brief glance back towards Li, finding that for now his friend had things well under control a half smile formed on his own lips now as he sent a mental message to the tiny desert rose that was currently coiled around his right wrist now. ‘It seems that brute force might take some time to deal with these things. Hana, I think you’re the best counter for these things…” The little rose bud instantly perked up hearing her master calling her name, even praising her that she’d be the best to fight against this strange snake shaped golem. Still somewhat a child the little creature couldn’t help but flex her tiny arms as though there were muscles on either of them and unwrapped herself a few times from the delicate wrist of her creator and slipped out from beneath the wide sleeve of Zao’s robe. She was able to see how her comrade spirit plant, Toge, once more lashed out with his brutish strength smashing the creature back against the wall with only little effect. It’s attack had only left another long white mark upon the neck of the snake as it began to once more regain control of its body and rush forward once again.

What a strange thing…” Hana couldn’t help but say out loud now as she finally was able to see the black scaled puppet with her own bright blue chakra eye and her hands formed a series of hand seals. Opening her mouth as the creature lashed out with its tail in a whip like manner, she would expel a large cloud of sand in the direction of the attack. This sand formed a five meter wall of sand that stopped the powerful tell from traveling any further after the two came into contact, it was then that the little claw like fingers of the spirit rose began to rapidly move along with her tiny arms. This caused the sand to rapidly move at a speed which could only be described as a blur to one with normal sight. As the golem fought back, even turning its flexible body around in a one eight to bite at the sand which was beginning to constrict around its body, Zao had already came to a realization.

So that’s how it is, these are most likely Joruri…” After sensing and observing the snake golem for a short period of time he was able to make a guess which he felt was at least eight percent correct...that these golem’s were actually Joruri style puppet which had a spirit sealed inside them. That meant that the spirits within them must have been decently powerful before being sealed within them to be able to draw out so much strength from the puppet-like bodies that they now possessed. They might have even been most powerful than Shi, the man’s own Joruri puppet. These constructs would probably be very beneficial to his current research into spirits if he could manage to capture one of these golem’s alive and be able to study the seal used to hold the spirits within them and compare it to his own.

The snake golem continued to struggle as Hana used her Sand kinesis to intricate control her sand in order to fully bind the near indestructible puppet into place before causing the defensive breaking properties of her sand element to truly shine. Under the strain of the countless grains of sand which infiltrated every part of the golem and its joints now it began to shutter as though it was about to break apart. Sensing its own demise about to come the golem did something that was unexpected as it demonstrated the ability to self detonate in what could be compared to an S40 ranked explosion. Despite being wrapped in a thick layer of sand the power of the explosion was enough to push back the sand somewhat, yet Hana’s strength over her infused Sand was on a completely different level and was able to keep the explosion from enveloping Zao and herself.

While this was enough to cause the formerly calm eyes of the scholarly looking man to suddenly narrow they almost instantly widened at the same time, this was because he’d be lucky enough to have had the golem constricted in Hana’s sand which protected them from the blast allowing for it to be deflected outwards towards the nearby wall. But if the one Li was fighting exploded as well, than they all might be in serious danger...

While Xiao Li was continuously firing the Gatling gun at the snake golem, he was steadily building chakra up within his prosthetic arm until he had finally charged up enough to unleash the most powerful technique that he had at the time. As he punched out his right arm a conical beam was released and hit the snake golem square in the head. Due to constantly being battered by the senbon-like blasts from Xiao Li's Gatling gun and then being hit with the forty strength beam of Tenkujutsu energy the snake golem finally collapsed. However, as the snake golem collapsed under Xiao Li's beam of energy, the golem that Zao had been fighting exploded. Due to being deflected by the sand that surrounded it, the explosive force from the snake golem's self-detonation that Zao had been fighting hit Xiao Li and threw him into the wall, causing his Gatling gun to be broken off of his shoulder along with some major damage to his prosthetic legs. After having been slammed into the wall Xiao Li's body slid down until he landed on the ground unconscious.

The man's thoughts had instantly turned into a terrifying reality before the white haired scholar could even turn his head after the explosion of his own foe before he felt the explosion of Li's puppet from behind. Luckily for the younger shinobi the massive impact of his Tenku based attack directly against the puppet's core had damaged the explosive seal rendering it unable to release all the stored explosive force within. Hana acted on her own accord as a thin wall of sand zipped into existence between Zao and the partial explosion that splashed in his direction. The explosion itself had thrown his friend off to the side of the massive stairs upon which they had been fighting, a few moments after the dusk and smoke began to settle Zao waved his right hand and his desert rose spirit pet dispersed the protective wall to reveal the scene of scattered puppet parts.

"Damn it Li..." A worried look was on the man's face as his bright blue eyes scanned the destruction, finally sorting from near to far through the scattered parts of the snake like golem to find his companion unconscious against the stone wall fifteen meters away. Though he an easing ache within his chest the man couldn't help but shake his head, his friend was still so headstrong that even with the loss of his limbs not long ago he still tried to fight at close range. Exhaling a sigh of relief the man stepped forwards and arrived next to the fallen man in only a moments worth of time as he appeared from what appeared to be thin air kneeling next to the fellow Suna-nin. The slender fingers of the right hand were upon the unconscious man's neck checking his pulse as the man placed his left hand palm first against the chest of the shinobi where his heart should be.

Utilizing his medical knowledge he was able to determine that the explosion hadn't caused any serious internal injures, thankfully. A gentle life giving green glow began to form as iijutsu based chakra filled the man's left palm and transferred into Li increasing the pale face of the young man by a few colors over the course of a few moments. Still shaking his head the man spoke aloud to his rose spirit pet now, "Hana, I had planned to keep you and Toge hidden as a surprise for whom ever is playing these games with us. But it would seem that their is no need to continue holding back our strength, gather Li and take us to the top of the stairs now..." An unusually stern look could be found on the normally gentle face of Zao as he turned his sharp gaze towards the top of the stars looking past the remaining ones between the two.

As commanded by her owner and master, the little spirit flower smashed her tiny palms together and golden chakra flowed out of her body as additional sand began to materialize around the four of them. Li was lifted from the ground on a small cloud of sand that joined with the one that Zao stepped upon now which was around ten feet in diameter. More sand formed around them as the spirit controlled around ten cubic meters worth of the sand at this time with her ability to use sand based kinesis. With a high level of control and precision over the movement of the sand the little spirit began to rapidly race up the remaining number of stairs at the highest speed she was able to muster. The sand that wasn't part of the platform holding the group five meters off the deck swirled around the moving cloud of sand acting as an active defense which would prevent the group from suffering any surprise attacks.

It would seem that whomever was watching and in control of the mechanisms within the wall had taken note of the new tactic of the group and activated another trap for them. From behind the group would hear the sound of rocks slamming together now and when Zao turned to look through the swirling sand he couldn't help but let our a curse, "Fuck!" Starting from the first stair the ceiling had started to slam down as though their was a second set of stairs which was descending from above now. Anything caught within the falling ceiling would undoubtable be crushed into flat meat paste without a moment to even feel the pain. Beats of nervous sweat could be seen on the man's forehead as one rushed down his left check, mentally he urged on his little flower as she began to exert herself at her full capacities now. Yet, even doing so the stairs descending from above were rapidly closing in on their own position as they were advancing towards the ten meter wide opening that served as the exit off these stairs of death.

"Are we going to make it?!" The scholar couldn't help but mutter out loud as he tried to mentally calculate the closing threat and their own door to safety, but the quick mental thought only left him full of doubt as he was rapidly shifting his gaze back and forth between the two. With only a handful of stairs remaining the stair directly behind them slammed together with the one that fell from the ceiling nipping at the edge of the sand shield which had been in its path. To Zao's dismay the power of the sand was like a sheet of paper and didn't even slow down the massive slab of chakra resistant stone, its size and power simply to much to be stopped by any human means. Two stairs away from the end and Zao spoke to his thorn vine who moved to brace itself with one part of the vine into the Sand as one of the arm lashed out at the wall that fell cutting off the back of platform leaving it only five meters in width.

If one as watching from the outside they would feel that the chance of them escaping the final slab that was only a few meters over their head was less than zero. Even the mysterious figure who had been watching the group since they managed to enter the labyrinth felt that this time the group was truly dead and went to stand up from the seat they were casually setting within but at the last moment when they were only a few inches off the cushion of the seat they froze. A blur of sand shot out only a meter in size, a tenth the size of the original platform as it destabilized and broke apart to reveal the white robed figure with his long white hair carrying the unconscious man in his arms. The man feet landing firmly on the ground as the momentum from the event caused for him to slide over ten meters across the smooth stone floor before coming to a complete stop. "So close..."

A cold sweat covered the man beneath the thin white robed fabric, Toge had struck out with his vine at full strength in order to briefly increase the speed of the sand cloud as a last resort for Li and Zao to escape with their lives. It had cost the plant one of its arms, but that would grow back given time, for now the group was still alive. Even Hana was a bit exhausted from pushing herself so hard as her tiny claw like hands came apart from one another and she laid her rose bud head down upon her master's tattooed arm to rest. Zao finally managed to gather himself as his breathing began to return to normal and his bright eyes started to scan their surrounding as they found themselves in a rather unadorned room, though their wasn't anything of note at first glance except for the size of the room being a perfect one hundred meter cube.

The thin framed man took a knee and set down his companion, holding him in in a seated position now as he glanced towards the center of the room. In the very center of the room the stone floor opened up to reveal a massive throne that was rising from below. Seated on the throne was a robed figure who's features were concealed in the folds of fabric and shadows keeping one from finding out any identifiable information about them. An ancient voice rippled out from the averaged sized figure who set on the mighty looking throne that appeared to belong to something much larger than its current owner. "Impressive, I truly though you would have died to the last mechanism on the Demon Stairs..." Though the stranger seemed to speak in a hint of praise towards Li and Zao, the speaker was unable to hide the distain in their voice for the human's before it. "Defeat my little pet and I'll send you out of the labyrinth and into the borders of Juu..."

It would appear that the figure was following some type of orders or preordained rules as he simply waved his hand and the crimson beast that had at first been almost unnotably a the foot of the massive thrown began to move. The lump of thick crimson fur got up slowly as it stretched appearing to be some sort of demon hound as it turned to look at the intruders with hungry eyes, bones grew out of its body around the neck, on its legs, and down its back onto its fluffy looking tail. A low rumbling growl could be heard as it took a few steps off the platform and onto the same level as the group, revealing itself to be nearly two meters in high and around six meters in length. Though it was rather unimpressive at first a swirl of bloody chakra could be seen forming around it before the creature began to grow to ten meters in height and around twenty meters in length as the bone on its body started to increase as well forming into an armored helm as addition bone grew from parts of the body that were already covered in bone.

A truly savage looking beast lowered its head to look at the two men in the distance only fifty meters away from them, glowing red eyes that looked like they belonged to a demon focused solely on the pair...

[PB] Escape the Labyrinth

Post by Gara » Sun Sep 08, 2019 9:59 pm

As Zao had set him down, and the mysterious man began to speak, Xiao Li came to and began to assess the damage to his body. "FUCK that hurts! Zao sure did a wonder with the nerve endings connections. My new limbs breaking apart like that is horrendous. I need to find a way to dull that pain otherwise I will pass out every time." As he began to channel his chakra into his body, attempting to perform his puppetry jutsu in order to manipulate the various parts of his body and put himself back together, a giant, boney, dog-looking thing appeared in front of them. While the creature was solidifying Zao helped Xiao Li repair the damage to his body, repairing his arms first so that he could speed up the repairs himself. While Zao did his best to repair Xiao Li's legs as quickly as possible, Xiao Li was repairing the Gatling gun he had installed on himself, as well as, the barrier mechanism that he had created as well. During the entire process of repairing his various puppetry parts, Xiao Li even came up with ideas for even more mechanisms that he could add to his body.

It then occurred to Xiao Li that it had taken far to long for the repairs to his body to be finished, and yet the spirit beast in front of them had yet to attack. After estimating the distance between them and the giant dog, Xiao Li figured that there was more than likely around fifty meters between them and it, and guessed that as soon as they moved closer to it the battle would begin. It was a test of sorts after all. "Thank you for the help Zao. I would be dead many times over if not for you. Let us finish this beast and get out of here. I need to get home and start experimenting with the limbs you gave me. The gun and barrier I made are nice, but I have SO many ideas for mechanisms I could add to my own body now. I almost can not contain the excitement." Despite managing to keep his tone flat, and his face serious, an immense amount of joy and excitement could be seen in the young man's eyes. The puppetry-based limbs that Zao had given to Xiao Li had given him a completely new outlook on his puppetry skills. While he was talking to his good friend, and savior, Xiao Li's right arm slowly began to glow with a marron light as more and more Tenkujutsu based chakra built up in said arm. He was preparing to unleash his ultimate spirit-based attack from the beginning and was just waiting on Zao to give the word before he launched his attack.

[PB] Escape the Labyrinth

Post by Zao » Mon Sep 09, 2019 7:30 pm

"Haha, rest for a bit my friend...seems that we have quite the company..." The familiar sound of his close friend's voice drifting up from behind him as he'd been solely focused on the frontal threat that lingered in the distance across the massive stone room from them was a welcomed sound. It let him know that Li had managed to awaken from his unconscious state...even though he sounded like a whiney child for a second that which caused for the serious looking man to unconsciously let out a light chuckle. Shaking his head the man glanced out of the corner of his bright blue eyes towards the smaller man and smiled before focusing his attention solely upon the transforming beast before them that became covered with a thick layer of bone, probably some sort of defensive measure.

"Toge and Hana...rest for a bit as well, you've both done well. I'll test out our friends." Bright chakra appeared around the man like a set of faint blue flames that focused quickly into the right hand which stretched out palm forwards towards the crimson haired, gold boned dog spirit. A massive area of space in front of the group twisted and contorted. "Li, prepare yourself...I'll start things off." His young friend had seen this before when they were battling with the spirit outside the wall now as almost instantly a massive stone stele appeared in front of the two human's as it dropped to the ground with a powerful thud. It's surface was covered with a complex fuuin formula that even caused for the mysterious labyrinth keeper to tighten his face as he studied it with his eyes. Though the creature before him seemed a bit more simple minded as it looked over at the thirty meter square stone slab and rushed forward.

Zao felt a bit of pity for the creature before him, charging at this weapon of his was a terrible idea as the man's right hand instantly shifted into a half ram seal and he used one of the most basic techniques in the ninpou arsenal...kai! The fuuin illuminated for a mere spilt second before a tremendous explosion enveloped a tremendous portion of the area in front of them to even include the spirit dog and the cloaked figure. This had been a killing blow of the future Suna bannin, currently only having five of these special explosive stones in total and using this one dropped him down to only three remaining. As the explosion consumed the crimson haired, golden bone covered spirit dog the stranger behind him in the distance seemed to simply wave his hand as the space shifted around him causing the explosive force to simply pass by on either side of him.

Though this action couldn't be seen from the point of view of Li or Zao as the stone stele crumbled away into dust now as smoke and dust filled the air the concealed the majority of the battlefield now. On the opposing side of the arena from the dark smoke a golden blur slide out of the damaged area with little more than a few cracks across the durable golden bone armor and some burn hair. While it had shaken the spirit dog it hadn't actually been enough to injure the creature more than lightly now as its master waved his hand again and a gentle but massive gust of air drifted across the fighting space dispersing the remaining smoke and dust from the explosion. To the surprise of Zao as he felt the unnatural 'breeze' shifting away the fog of war in front of the two opponent's came quickly back into view...

'I was right, that bone was a defensive ability but it looks like even the crimson hair on that creature has some amazing properties as well...' Though he didn't speak his words out loud he couldn't help but frown and yet at the same time this had been what he'd initially expected as the pet of someone as mysterious as the labyrinth operation had to be either very strong or unique. This one before him might even be both, but that was simply the first exchange and now it was going to be the time to fight for real...something he hadn't done in a long time. "Not bad, perhaps you can entertain me a bit..." The deep, emotionless voice seemed to echo throughout the great hall now as a slow smile formed from within the shadow of the hooded cloak that hide the figure's true appearance from the others now. "Do you have any other parlor tricks to show me before we begin?"

'This person...how arrogant...!!' The master of this lair continued to talk down to the human's before him, not seeming to want to acknowledge that they could even be close to his own level, a point that irritated the white haired shinobi as he slashed across the air in front of himself and called on some friends of his that were residing currently within his own realm. 'Shi and Gogyou, come help out..' As he spoke mentally an armor like golem stepped out of the three meter tall portal, before a moment after a powerful wooden dragon tore through the hole in space time, barely able to squeeze itself through as it's lengthy body floated in the air as pairs of wooden wings flapped gentle keeping it in flight. As the two spirit puppets were entering from his own realm the man rapidly formed a series of hand seals before clapping his hands together at the end and two large puffs of smoke filled the air.

As they dispersed a towering giant red skinned ape with a polearm and a twenty five meter cobra-like serpent lifted her head as sword blade with purple poison had slipped through the gap in her upper and lower jaw. Tarou and Apep had joined the fray as know as the spectacle of the four spirits, two in their natural states and two in puppet bodies stood in front of their master and the threating spirit dog. "Li, if you can help support my friends in this battle...there is no need to continue pulling any punches..." \

[PB] Escape the Labyrinth

Post by Gara » Wed Sep 11, 2019 9:33 pm

Xiao Li's heart began to thump wildly when he saw the giant stone stele appear and then, subsequently, explode. The force from the explosion even made him slide backward on the ground slightly even though he had braced himself. "I really need to step up my training when we make it back to the village. I knew that Zao outclassed me, but I didn't know that it was by this much. I HAVE to get stronger!" Xiao Li pushed more and more chakra into his arm as Zao began to summon his companions and in an effort to allow him to finish his summonings Xiao Li ran forward and launched his strongest technique while simultaneously preparing his Gatling gun for battle. The marron beam of energy blasted towards the dog in a straight line and, to Xiao Li's dismay, the giant crimson dog stared at his attack as though it were a flea or an ant while it was an elephant. The massive spirit dog did not even deem the attack worthy of its attention and merely stood in place while expecting its golden bone armor to protect it. However, to, not only the dog's surprise but to the mysterious man behind the spirit, the attack launched by Xiao Li passed through the physical defense of the dog's golden bone armor and hit the spirit directly.

As soon as Xiao Li fired his Obliteration beam he had begun to form more hand seals in order to use even more Tenkujutsu techniques. While he was forming his seals he continued to charge the beast, however, he had begun to strafe to the left in an effort to circle behind the spirit so that it would turn its attention away from Zao and his summoning. As he finished forming his hand seals a sword made from maroon-colored flames materialized in Xiao Li's right hand. Xiao Li then charged the giant beast while wielding the sword, though he made sure to move in a jagged line rather than run straight at the spirit. It was all in an effort to avoid any attacks that the beast may have made against him. As Xiao Li charged the crimson dog it began to get irritated that the "ant" would not leave it alone, not to mention the fact that Xiao Li's last attack had bypassed its defenses. The dog swiped its massive front paw at Xiao Li with the intent to smash him into the ground, however, Xiao Li jumped out of the way as soon as he saw the beast begin to move. While he had moved first, and thought that he had given himself enough room and time to dodge the animal's attack, Xiao Li had still been grazed by the paw and was thrown across the room. As he flew through the air Li activated his Gatling gun and began to fire Fuuton based senbon at the giant dog. "Take that you son of a bitch!" Xiao Li yelled at the top of his lungs at the dog spirit just before he hit the ground and began to laugh heartily at the unintentional joke that he had made all the while attacking the dog with his Gatling gun.

Jutsu usedShow
Shizumeru • Obliteration
S-Rank Ninjutsu Tenkujutsu
Xiao Li will first channel a large amount of chakra into his forearm and fist causing his fist and forearm to turn maroon in color. He will then punch out and release the built up chakra. This creates a conical beam that travels 50 meters at a speed of 30 and hits with a strength of 40. The conical beam is twenty meters wide at its largest point. This beam of Tenkujutsu chakra will cause a drop in available forms for spirits, jinchuriki, and Tsukimogami by 2 for 6 posts.

Shizumeru • Ethereal Fire Sword
B-Rank Tenkujutsu (Nin)
After forming the required hand seals and channeling his chakra into his hands Xiao Li will cup his hands, and pull them apart. As he does so he will create a Jian that is thirty-one inches in length from blade tip to pommel tip out of maroon flames. The Jian has a strength of 20. Every time the sword strikes a spirit, or host, it drains their power. Should the target be hit five times within five posts the target’s form will drop by 2. This sword is capable of causing second degree burns upon contact.

Shoulder-mounted Gatling Gun - 8 Mechanisms
One of Xiao Li's most noticeable mechanisms is the Gatling gun that, when not hidden within his shoulder cuff, is mounted on his shoulder. This Gatling gun swivels a full one hundred and eighty degrees, and fires it's projectiles at a speed of 35 and with a strength of 35. However, the Gatling gun does not fire senbon but fires Katon and Fuuton projectiles. These projectiles are the size and shape of a senbon and contain the passive of their respective element. - Fired 10 Fuuton based senbon

[PB] Escape the Labyrinth

Post by Zao » Sat Sep 14, 2019 11:06 am

The beast wasn't familiar with Tenku based attacks and simply snorted as beam of maroon chakra surged forward across the gap between itself and the shorter shinobi now, its body flexed in order to brace for the impact of the attack only to find that the attack didn't strike its armor but against its body. Though the attacks itself was powerful the body of the beast wasn't any weaker that the attack, not injuring the beast but shaking it as the attack caused the beastly spirit dog to wince in pain. The spirit wouldn't be foolish to rely on its golden armor to block another attack like that now as the small army of spirits were brought into the realm in front of them. But the mysterious cloaked figure watched only, only nodding his head almost in approval of the strength of the two shinobi in front of himself or herself at the moment. Seeming to be solely interested in how the crimson furred, gold bone armored pet of his would far against the two outsiders...though he felt sorry for the little man who charged out first as he could tell just based on the man's movements that he wouldn't be able to take a single blow from the beast...how foolish.

Even the beast who had recovered from the powerful Tenku blast earlier could tell this much, a devious snarl could be heard as the beast burst forward with speed that could only be described as a blur to the jounin who had attacked as the golden blur appeared off to Li's left side. A massive armored paw was sweeping across from right to left. The attack came at the beast's full strength and speed, something that would most likely turn the small man into a pile of meat paste...but luckily the man wasn't attacking alone in the end and had the support of his traveling companion and all of his spirits that had entered the free. A streak of green came into view as the swamp snake had moved to protect the human at her master's mental request, a ten meter long sword grasped in her teeth swung to meet the descending paw as the pair met with a powerful clash. From the collision, a pressure wave around thirty five strength pushed out as the paw and the sword came to a stand still sending Li flying across the room. This surprised both spirits, Apep especially as she was extremely arrogant when it came to the peak level of strength she possessed.

The moment of surprise allowed for the spirit dog to continue the attack as its boney, whip like tail with the golden spike at the end whipped around like a scorpion towards the snake who was seemingly tied up holding back its armored paw at the moment. She seemed to be dead to rights to the attack before a flash of black and red appeared above the dog and a long spear swept across, though it was unable to fully block the attack the speed of the red skinned Ape's appearance was startling to the spirit dog and was enough to deflect the spear tail into the hard ground where it splinted the hard stone beneath their bodies. As this happened the floating dragon who was above its master's head about thirty meters high had been forming a series of hand seals. While the wooden dragon formed hand seals the four armed golem like puppet kicked off the ground and the beautiful angelic like wings unfolded from beneath the cloak it was wearing also allowing for this Jouri puppet to fly to the right side of the dragon puppet now, the cannon's on its right shoulder moved into place from where they had previously been tucked down on the right chest of Shi's puppet body.

From the clash Zao had already been able to determine a bit about the creature, its armor was extremely durable and its strength was on the same level as Apep's. Though it's speed was below Tarou's which was at least one good thing the group had going for them but that long boney tail could attack even if the spirit dog's body and paws were tied down. How dangerous this little puppet could be. Gogyou draconic claws had finished a string of hand seals as the three spirit's and Li exchanged their first set of blows and its body glowed with green nature chakra before the wood over it's right shoulder suddenly began to grow rapidly. It looked like a powerful, thick three was growing from its body at the moment as it grew at a speed of forty five to a length of forty meters in the shape of a towering hybrid looking golem that resembled a thick dragon like body with a large number of sharp centipede like limbs. This was his Centipede Dragon technique and as it finished growing the eyes illuminated with a deep green glow and it broke free from the puppet body and slammed into the ground with a powerful thud...another had entered the fray and the longer the battle went on the stronger the beast would become.

Shi wasn't setting idly by either as it had flown up the creature was charging both its katon and raiton cannon's on the right shoulder with the respective chakra, in that order. The Katon cannon came to life as the elemental turbine Zao had constructed for the puppet weapon began to spin after being instilled with chakra. Rapidly building up the turbine, which in turn was building up a charge of the respected element. Once the charge had built up the cannon itself acted as a means to direct the built up elemental blast by releasing it in a forward blast that show forward at forty speed and strength. The blast itself was only about thirteen meter in width but capable of extending over a hundred meters in length. It was only a few moments later that the raiton based cannon did the same with a similar sized and strength blast, before lastly the fuuton cannon also fired a blast. Each of them raining down in a back to back to back attack from three separate elements a the spirit dog.

The attack itself was communicated with the two attacking spirits now as they body rapidly retreated and the three elemental blasts rained down onto the dog which did its best to dodge in order to not take a full on attack from the puppet's cannon attacks. Burn marks, shallow cuts, and splintered cracks could be seen on the surface of the spirit dogs golden bone armor as it had retreated back to it's masters feet almost...this action seeming to rather displease as one could visible see the figure crossing their cloaked arms and shaking their head from one side to the other, but the mysterious person or spirit's actions didn't seem to show any fear or pressure…still just enjoying the performance being put on before him. "Again..." An ancient voice called out to the spirit dog who turned to look at its owner before snorting and turning back to the group, ready to attack again with no sign of fear in the eye of the spirit dog, appearing to have complete faith in its master and obedient to its death if need be.

As the fight had unfolded a set of wings that appeared to belong to an angel formed out of brilliant blue chakra upon the man's back, as Li was knocked back the fight moved with his max speed and as the man was knocked back he'd feel the gentle touch of Zao's hand on his right shoulder. "Not bad, my friend. You've grown quite a bit." Standing next to him was the white haired shinobi who floated a few inches off the ground and before them the two spirits landed back in front of the two men about thirty to forty meters away. Both flying puppets floated above them as well, the wooden centipede dragon allow moved before them. From left to right out in front of the two shinobi were the wood centipede dragon, the red skinned ape, and the swamp serpent. "It seems that the armor is powerful, but slowly being damaged. We will have to continue to overwhelm the spirit creature and break its armor to defeat him..."

Description: A trio of side by side, shoulder mounted cannons that consists of two parts, the cannon portion and a turbine portion. The turbine in each is able to be activated by the spirit instilling the correct elemental chakra into the turbine which will then rapid spin building up a charge of the respected element (Raiton, Katon, or Fuuton). Once the charge is built up the cannon acts as a means to direct the built up elemental blast by releasing it in a forward blast. That power of the attack coming from the stats of the puppet, able to be released with a speed and strength equal to the [Deftness] of the puppet. The size of the blast having a diameter equal to [Deftness/3] and a range of [Deftnessx3] in meters. Each cannon can only be fired once per post with a one post cool down between uses. The cannon's have the ability to move in order to track target's independent of the body or the other cannons and when not in used that are able to be retracted back on the right shoulder blade.

After channeling chakra the user will focus on making the chakra collect around their back as the chakra is shaped into four large wings, these end up looking similar to feathery angel wings. The wings each measure just over two meter in length and just under and one meter wide at their widest point. These wings are able to flap and are strong enough to allow the user to fly for up to 8 posts. The user can only fly up to 30 meters in combat but higher outside of combat. The user is able to fly at a speed equal to their control stat, up to a maximum of their speed stat.

Serpent Sword: A fifteen meter long, dual edged straight blade sword. An eleven meter long blade, two meters in width and half a meter in thickness, with a plain looking wooden hilt that is four meters in length. Considered treasures of the specific snake species that Apep is from. Stored within the snake's storage ability, there are ten in total. 100 storage slots used, normally found in the spirit's mouth.

[Slithering Flash Slash]
S-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisites: 40 Speed
Griping the sword horizontally in her mouth, the snake halts her movement for a split second, building up an immense amount of torque in her body's coiled muscles in this moment. After doing so, the spirit will release all of this built up torque in one explosive maneuver, dashing across the battlefield near instantly slashing with the sword in her mouth with such force that the ensuing slash can easily sever metal or flesh. This dash is made with such explosive speed that it creates a shockwave following her body to the end of their dash, pushing away anything within [10] meters of the snake with 4/5 of her strength in an attempt to protect herself should the attack miss it's mark. The distance that can be covered in the dash of the slash is equal to the average between her [(Speed+Strength)2] in meters. This technique is considered so fast that it consumes one of the 2 teleports allowed per thread.

Xiao Li smiled up at his friend as he sat on the ground. While the attack had hit him pretty hard, it had not been enough to deal any real damage to him. As he stood Xiao Li dusted himself off with his hands as the Gatling gun on his shoulder began to spin rapidly. "Now that the gang is all here I think I will just hang out in the back Zao. Seems like my only option is a supporting role this time." Xiao Li spoke with a light, almost joking, tone with a broad smile on his face. He was incredibly happy for someone who had only just recently lost all four of his limbs and had them replaced with artificial ones. However, in all honesty, forcing himself to be happy and enjoy the predicament that they were in was the only thing keeping Xiao Li sane at the moment. Despite the way he had been acting recently, losing his limbs was a major blow to Xiao Li's psyche, as it would be for anyone, though more so for a shinobi of Sunagakure who detested body modification. Not only was he worried about how the village, and his superiors, were going to react to him, but he was obsessively thinking about how Xiao Qing, the woman he was arranged to marry, would react to him.

Despite not having much interest in women overall, Xiao Qing held a special place in Xiao Li's heart and was someone whose opinion mattered the most to him. The only other person whose opinion mattered more to Xiao Li than Xiao Qing was the cousin who had raised him; Xiao Ning. As conceited as it might have sounded, Xiao Li was not too worried about how his superiors would react because he knew that his good friend Zao, the man who saved his life and repaired his body, would help explain to their superiors exactly what had happened and that there was no other way for Xiao Li to survive. Not only that but, from Xiao Li's experience on this expedition, he was sure that Zao would soon be a Bannin if he was not already one. And while he did have innumerable ideas and concepts for ways that he could improve his power now that he could combine his puppetry skills with his body, he was also aware that he would be judged as lesser by the majority of the people in his home village now because of the modifications to his body.

After hearing another loud explosion Xiao Li shook himself out of his reverie and began to unleash a barrage of not only Fuuton but Katon senbon blasts as well. Rather than just firing his Gatling gun in a fully automatic fashion, he was firing the senbon in short bursts to ensure that he did not damage any of his companions. "I hate to say this y'all, but other than just firing off techniques at this thing from a distance I am a bit useless right now. Not going to lie! I feel like I am in a little over my head right now!" Xiao Li was laughing as he ran back and forth around the battlefield doing his best to hit the same spot on the dog's armor repeatedly to do as much damage as possible.

[PB] Escape the Labyrinth

Post by Zao » Mon Sep 16, 2019 10:41 am

"Well my friend, I'm not much better..." A bit of a chuckle slipped through the white haired man's thin lips as he shifted his gaze briefly onto the younger man before him now as he stood up and in turn Zao moved to stand side-by-side on Li's right side now. It was the truth, the man's arsenal had always been a bit more geared toward supplementary tasks and using his companions to assist him in and outside of battle. Though the man had managed to develop a few powerful attack style ninjutsu these were also very chakra intensive and not something he'd pull out in a fight unless it meant the difference between life and death. Using such powerful techniques would put himself and the group in a possibly bad spot if they weren't about to take care of the job. Shaking his head a bit the man peered through the gaps of the spirits and wood golem creation that formed a defensive wall in front of them at the moment, though this spirit dog was impressively powerful to fight against the combined force of his spirits, Li, and himself at once...what bothered him was not the spirits strength but the owner behind it that called it a simple pet.

There seemed to be no type of emotional attachment to the bone spirit, as though it was something he could just use and throw away as he wished...which was the complete opposite to how the scholar viewed his own spirit pets and spirit companions. To be truthful the arrogant nature of this mysterious figure had drawn forth quite a bit of the man's repressed anger as he ground his teeth together. But someone like this who considered this type of beast just a simple pet had to also be unimaginably strong themselves which was another worry of the Suna bannin. Were they just being toyed with right now? Zao quietly pushed his thoughts back for a moment as he felt the gentle nudge at his left calf, Toge had carried over Hana, neither of the two spirit pets ever wanting to be far from their Master's side. A half smile formed on the man's lips as his bright blue eyes shifted down briefly to see the two pets who were slowly recovering and back up onto the battlefield. "Lets finish this my friends..."

"Shi, prepare that technique..." Though he spoke in a quiet voice that only Li was able to hear, it was also transmitted mentally into the mind of the golem looking puppet and the lightning dragon spirit that had been sealed inside the puppet body. It turned its head as it looked down from around thirty meter's above the white robed man and nodded as its hands began to move into a long series of hands seals, this would take a few moments to prepare. Next he spoke again out loud in the same soft voice, "Toge, Apep, and Gogyou...push the attack." The three spirit had only been awaiting the word to continue from their master now before both Toge and Apep both leaped directly into action. The first to arrive was the speedy ape with its greater level of mobility as it dodged to the side of a spear like bone tail which stabbed at him before he twisted on his feet dodging to the side with a spin before the spinning motion carried into a quick and powerful assault from the long polearm weapon. 'Whirlwind on the Mountain!' Though the attacks didn't have the sheer physical strength to break through the armor they carried with them great force which would vibrate through the beasts body. The double attacks created from the ape and the special effect of its sphere damaged the armor causing long scars and pieces of its to being to chip off before he was forced away as the boney head of the beast attempted to bite the ape's leg to lock him in place.

Barely escaping the bite the ape had created an opening for its comrade and in some sense rival spirit, the swamp snake Apep to enter the fray. Her sharp green eyes searching for an opening as she had moved closer during the brief exchange between the red skinned ape and the golden bone armored dog. With her serpent sword grasped tightly in her mouth the creature was less than a blur to the dog which had just received a thrashing from Tarou and caught the pup off guard as the sword sliced from high to low slamming into the spine of the armor plating protecting the spirit dog. She released her full power into strike which drove the dog straight down onto the stone floor which cracked beneath them, the armor began to break apart on the dog as it seemed dazed now taking a full strength blow from Apep.

All this fighting allowed for Shi and Gogyou to continue preparing as another centipede dragon fell to the ground with a powerful thud in front of where the two men and his spirit pets were holding up in the rear, though the wood dragon had incredible stamina like its master it definitely couldn't keep pumping out these wood golem, but it should be enough. While Shi on the other hand was sparking with electricity as it covered his puppet body before being concentrated in-between the large hands. 'Earth-Shattering Roar from the Highest Heavens!' Then as Apep retreated the former lightning dragon released its most powerful attack as the name was screamed in its thoughts. A column of lightning shot forth at blinding speeds crossing the near hundred meter gaps almost instantaneously now before striking the dog spirit who was unable to dodge due to the strikes from the two spirit animals attacking it back to back. The lightning seemed to explode on impact as the wave of electricity swept outwards in every direction forcing the spirits back and even encroaching on the mysterious figure.

Shaking their head, the figure once more waved its arm taking control of the space and time around him to avoid being affected by the technique and its shocking passive, however the pet of this individual was forced to take the full attack head on. This rendered the spirit more or less paralyzed as the two wood centipede dragons advanced and used this to wrap their slender bodies around the creature in a binding fashion. "It's over..." The angelic wings of Zao flapped gently keeping him about a meter off the cold stone floor at the moment as he spoke to the scene which had unfolded before the two men. Almost as though the mysterious figure somehow managed to hear this a rather sinister laugh began to echo through the hall..."You to humans actually have a bit of strength, its to bad the creator bound us with these rules or I'd like to test you both out a little more."

The ancient voice spoke again, the condescending tone evident in its words toward Li and Zao, despite the strength that they had shown it still didn't consider either of them to be on the same level at itself. This made the white haired shinobi furrow his brow a bit as he watched the spirit dog who was exhausted and beaten begin to shrink as the armor broke apart completely and fell to the ground shattering into smaller pieces as it did. "This one is of now use to me any more, you can try to undo the binding my master left on him and claim his as your own. But if you can't he will be thrown away like the trash he is..." It would appear that there wasn't any sort of sympathy for the creature before Zao as it shifted its muzzle to look back at he robed figure, barely able to move its head in its condition before its crimson eyes looked towards the human...its thoughts unsure what was to happen next. "Li, lets see just how strong this seal of the figures master really is..." The bannin had made up his mind, he wouldn't just let this spirit dog be thrown away to die...he wasn't cold hearted enough to allow for that to happen and he looked over to Li before nodding to him as he spoke.

After hearing Li's response the man quickly crossed the gap as the dog spirit was still surrounded by the golems of wood currently, upon arriving at the smaller sized spirit who had returned to its normal size at this point Zao reached forward with a maroon chakra covered hand to grasp the forehead of the beast. Though he frowned as his chakra flowed into the creature before him, this bind seal placed upon the creature truly was strong, even on the same level as his own. "Li, lend me some of your strength for this, please." The blue eyed man shifted his gaze from the spirit dog at his palm to the side to see if Li was with him yet, in order to break this seal he'd need help with a huge surge of Tenku chakra from them both before he could imprint his own sealing technique onto the dog. After this the pair could continue as maroon chakra flared up around Zao now like flames of chakra as it was then focused through the right palm of the thin framed man into the spirit.

Slowly the locking seal within was undone and in the end shattered, preventing anyone from studying the mysterious secrets behind the seal or its creator and in return a new binding seal was implanted into the spirit dog. After a few minutes the deed was done and the somewhat exhausted man could only turn towards the figure who had been curiously watching this entire time..."Not to bad little humans..." The ancient voice echoed through out the grand arena room once more but this time had a hint of interest behind its formerly flat tone.

[Circling the Prey]
A-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite: 30 Speed
The snake will take a moment to prepare themselves before instantly slithering forth at full speed around an opponent in order to strike them from behind. The strength of this technique comes from the extreme acceleration used in it, causing those with 5 less [Taijutsu+Instinct/2] than the user’s speed to be unable to follow the user’s movement at all. The snake will then use this opportunity to deliver a bite or strike at the opponent from the new position.

After using the correct hand seals, the user concentrates lightning between their hands before firing it in a single bolt of lightning which travels for a maximum of 150m at a speed of 50. Once it connects with a solid or at the user's will, it will explode with the force of 25 exploding tags, while expanding the raiton shocking quality for an extra 40 meters outside of the explosion radius. Xiao Li watched the battle in a daze, completely unable to do anything helpful. It was not only his friend Zao that unclassed him but the man's spirits as well. Everything about Zao outclassed Xiao Li and made him feel small and insignificant. However, Xiao Li did not take it to heart. Rather, he looked to Zao as a beacon of what he could become and of what he could accomplish in the future. Xiao Li knew that once he was able to return home to the village of Sunagakure he would need to dive headfirst into his Tenkujutsu training and focus solely on it rather than branching out into other forms of Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, or even Genjutsu. When he heard Zao request for his help in breaking the seal on the spirit Xiao Li simply placed his hand on his friend's shoulder and surged his maroon chakra into Zao's arm unceasingly until the seal broke. "You are claiming this beast as your own then? A good choice. Once it recovers it will be a powerful ally." Xiao Li once more went quiet, however, after he finished speaking, seemingly in deep thought.

"I have decided that upon returning home I will focus solely on my training. Lately, these past few years, I have strayed from the path of my youth. I have neglected my training in Tenkujutsu and must resume it with vigor. While I have made strides recently, they pale in comparison to the progress I made as a child. This labyrinth has shown me that I have lost my way and I wish to return to my roots. So I thank you Zao and you as well mysterious senior. I know now the error of my ways." Xiao Li spoke humbly and with a faint, yet confident, smile on his face. It was as though he had gained enlightenment of heaven's law and the path that heaven had laid out for him. From that moment on his heart was secure in the fact that Tenkujutsu was the one true way. As far as his ninja career was concerned anyway. While he knew that life would require him to be more versatile and know more than just Tenkujutsu, he would search for a way to make Tenkujutsu the answer to all of the problems that he would face.

[PB] Escape the Labyrinth

Post by Zao » Sat Sep 21, 2019 11:16 pm

Zao couldn't help but smile as he felt the warm Tenku chakra flowing into his left shoulder and with a thought he pushed it down his arm as it seemed to effortlessly combine with his own as his eyes closed tightly to concentrate but not before he spoke to Li. "Thank you my friend..." The whisper like voice trailed off as the man began to visualize the seal within the beast that held it so locked down and in prisoned that it wouldn't even fear its own death after given the command from its master...even though the mysterious stranger seemed to most likely be on his own level it felt like not even they were the one who'd tamed such a strange beast. 'This seal...' Within the mind of Zao a this point he was able to visualize the foreign chakra seal that rested unseen within the golden boned spirit dog, it was a creation similar to that of Toge or Hana, only it was a bit more complex than his own seal to the point that he found himself simply admiring it at first.

If he had not asked for help from his friend than just deciphering it slowly on his own would have taken perhaps weeks or even months, which had left him only one option which was to attack it by force. Maroon chakra flared up around the thin framed man now as it appeared to be almost like flames that encompassed even his comrade who was holding a hand upon his shoulder now. This was something that caused even the spirit and its mysterious owner to flinch as it was something which the man hadn't exposed up until this point, the man was every bit on the level of the five great Kages when it came to his level of control and ninjutsu...even his stamina was matched by few and at this moment in time he stopped allowing for himself to hold back and let the power explode briefly from within. A surge of Tenku chakra was pushed into the skull of the beast as it directly assaulted the strange fuuin which existed within the consciousness of the spirit dog, but it only shook slightly as Zao once more released another and another.

It took six powerful surges of this level of chakra to finally break the seal before a new seal began to form in its place, this was the seal of the white haired man's taking the place over the other. Sweat dripped from the Bannin's head as he could hardly believe that it had taken six attacks in order to shatter the fuuin. Just who was this person or entity who had created such an other worldly seal. But it was more than just a control seal as he felt some of the beast's strength dissipate as well, it had allowed for the spirit pet to explode with strength above its own...something he didn't believe was possible. How was it possible? This experience had open up the man's eyes a bit to just how powerful the art of fuuinjutsu mixed with the Tenku art could be but he also couldn't help but wonder if their was more to it than that. After a few minutes the chakra from the man withdrew back into his sweat soaked body and the man felt a sliver of weakness, it was rather draining for even him to conduct such a feat..

As he had been performing this difficult feat, the creatures under his command had formed a type of defensive perimeter around the three, even Toge and Hana had silently rejoined with their master now curling themselves around each of the man's lower legs at this point. It would seem that for now they had the mysterious stranger who had sat back down upon the thrown severely out numbered at this point. But when one looked towards the stranger their was not even a hint of fear instead all one felt was an aura of danger that spread out around the master of this maze. With a finally wave of his hand the red furred spirit dog was pulled into his own personal realm to recover, much like the elephant spirit had been after he had placed his claiming seal upon him as well. Letting his left hand fall to the side, a bit exhausted to say the least the bright blue eyes finally opened back to their natural appearance as he found himself and Li surrounded tightly by the spirits and Jouri, and centipede dragons. "Li, you are a strong man, now that you've found your own path their is a chance that you will even pass me by..."

It was then that a soft clapping could be heard, though it was soft in nature something seemed to cause it to echo throughout the entire great arena hall even to the point that the clapping seeming to cause for one's heart to flutter. The clapping had cut of the words which Zao had been speaking to his companion as his gaze involuntarily shifted towards the mysterious hooded figure who didn't even both to stand up at this point. "Finally, someone has passed the master's last trial to exit the labyrinth realm and enter out old country..." The words puzzled the man for a moment as he glanced down to his hand which had been used to attack the spiritual imprint left by someone much more powerful than himself, it twitched slightly as he gazed back up towards the voice. "...if you hadn't have been able to break that seal then I would have simply had to kill you." A ghostly, transparent looking hand that was filled with the twisting space and time mixed with what appeared to be stars could be seen as it made gesture as though the figure was yawning now before it made a shooing motion.

The space within the hole room changed as the spirits which Zao had summoned were casted away back to his realm, even the spirit puppets disappeared being tossed back through space, the only exception to this was the two spirit pets which were on Zao's person who he was able to shield with his own chakra at the moment. 'How is this possible?' He couldn't help but to question what he'd scene with the man's space-time technique which also encompassed a hit of Tenku with its chakra as well in some form of mass area attack that ran out the time on his summoning techniques. "This stranger is to dangerous..." Even Zao couldn't help but feel a shiver of fear pass through his spine at this point...the control over both jutsu styles at once as impressive and scary at the same time. "Don't be to scared little humans...I have to follow master's rules just like that little mutt did." This last statement was a bit confusing to say the least or at least it was at first before the scholar had the realization of just what it meant in terms of the mystery...this figure was a spirit...one on par with the most important weapons of any village...the genma!!!

"You are..." The white haired middle aged man had lifted his right hand slight as though to almost point at the figure seated high upon their thrown before he was cut off feeling the air around them twisting, they were already caught in some form of space-time technique. "You've earn the right to live...at least for today. If you attempt to enter this maze again then I won't have to be so lenient on either of you..." The ancient voice sounded irritated but their was no feeling of hostile intent coming from the creature before them that was comparable to the genma of the human world...it to a simple servant of whomever this mysterious master was. He was undoubtedly someone who was part of the kingdom of Juu before they strangely disappeared years ago. Without another word the group vanished from sight as the powerful spirit with control over time and space removed them from the dangerous maze and sent them into the country of Juu.

Even Zao found himself a bit disoriented from the sudden teleportation techniques that flung them through space as they appeared on the ground filled with overgrown grass and other types of vegetation near a lake that was so wide it almost appeared to be an ocean at first glance. After the pair took a moment to recover they agreed that it was best to find some shelter, a nearby cave ended up being their only choice on short notice as they retreated to there. Inside the white robed man emplaced one of his destination seals so that the pair would reenter the country but for now it was best with everything that had transpired to return to the village and speak with the elders who'd allowed for the two men to investigate this mysterious country. And their was the fact of having to deal with the issue of Li's new body parts as well, Zao would be able to explain that it was an emergency situation that was a choice of life or death for the fellow jounin. There would still be undoubtedly some sort of repercussions from his actions but he would bear them for his friend. Tired and exhausted the man grasped his friend by the shoulder and used his space-time technique to return them back to the village and to one of his markings within the hospital where he'd been working diligently for some time since his adventure through the spirit realms with Nori.

Just as the pair left the realm of Juu now, a massive shadow appeared just under the water at the shoreline within sight of the cave the two had just been hiding within, it was at least a hundred meters long and at least half that wide as a single head that was as big as a carriage lifted from the water to smell the air. From the shadow alone this appeared to be only one of many heads as the head snorted and water vapor was fling from its snout before it submerged itself again. It would appear that even though the mysterious genma level spirit had let them leave alive it had planned to have this creature dispose of the pair if they had dared to explore the chakra corrupted landscape of the deserted country. That had been lucky this time...
