[SanjOnu] Step 1

Post by Ace Trainer » Thu Jan 10, 2019 12:04 am

Shio's feet sank into the sand, his toes wiggling as it flowed over his feet. This sand felt different than what he was used to in Kirigakure. Perhaps the sediment was made of different types of rock or something. But he became immediately aware of the different feeling it was. The foam from the waves slopped against his ankles so he elected to take a few more steps. The first step of the mission was to go to the smaller satellite village on this island. It had a small population, and would likely not be very defended. This entire mission was relatively...covert. There was no reason to think it was happening, and given the current state of the political world right now, it didn't seem entirely appropriate for villages to be imperializing the world around them. But, what better time to strike? Peace wasn't always tenable.

He turned to his superior. He had trained only briefly with Hideki and it seemed that the village had caught wind of the training and decided the duo was a good choice for this. Shio was certainly strong, but it felt strange to be paired up so often with high end shinobi like this. He was only 10 after all. The pairing of Shio and Hideki also felt a little strange given that they were both more geared towards support. Sure, Shio could handle himself in hand to hand combat, but could it really be considered so competent that he was going to fight any big fighters that came through? Hideki was strong too, but to be honest Shio wasn't entirely confident of the skills he offered. He knew he was a bannin. He knew he was renown. He knew he was strong. But...well, time would tell.

Looked at Hideki, Shio's glasses slid down his nose and he smiled slightly at the bannin.

His pen sloshed through the air,

'Are we ready? Its a short journey from what I understand.'

He'd have to do a little preparation before they went.

The journey across the ocean had been long and unpleasant as far as Hideki was concerned. Perhaps he had simply grown lazy, having been working predominately within the village, or gotten accustomed to having the ability to bend space and appear wherever he wanted to be. Still, it had given him a chance to get to know Shio. The ten-year-old that was accompanying him.

To take over a country.

Just what kind of drugs did the Mizukage have access to that Hideki himself did not?

He had spent the vast majority of the trip preparing his array of Fuuinjutsu and then resting to recover the expended chakra, applying the Link seal to Shio, though whether it would have any affect on how the child's voice carried his will and Genjutsu the scientist had no idea, the Patient Monitor seal to keep track of his health, just in case, and finally a Network seal on the ship's deck so they could quickly retreat back to the ship if they needed to make a hasty escape. Not that he anticipated it.

"My preparations have been made. If you've anything you need to do, make it quick. I'd like to get this over with as soon as possible."

While he knew of Shio's unique talent with illusions, he was still a ten-year-old. Power, experience did not grant. The knowledge and experience to apply power efficiently was where Hideki came into the equation. Unlike many Kiri ninja, Hideki was more than accustomed to having those younger than him being more innately powerful, in their own way. He had made many of them that way himself.

Out of habit as he waited, Hideki took a scalpel from his coat and began spinning it around his fingers as he started muttering plans under his breath. "Poison their food and water supply? Possible. Long-term, though. Come in and offer to cure the illness, gain the approval of the locals, use that as a staging ground for moving towards the capital. Convince them that the source of the illness was the capital itself, create a rebellion. Hmm… Then again, all of this could be bypassed with the use of Shio's fables."

C-Rank Augment Fūinjutsu
By placing a small seal behind the ear and on the inside of the lip, and then channelling chakra into them, Hideki creates an audio link between himself and any targets he personally place this seal combination on. While hearing is always active, channelling chakra into the seal allows effected targets to speak, their words being stored and transmitted to the other seals.

[Patient Monitor]
C-Rank Augment Fūinjutsu
A Fūinjutsu created by Hideki in order to monitor the health of others whilst in the field. After writing out the seal directly onto the skin of an individual, on their chest over their heart, the doctor will activate it. Physically the seal is a circle of ink with a blank space in the middle. This seal has no time limit and will last until physically removed, though it can be toggled on and off by Hideki. The blank space in the middle is filled with a number between 1 and 5, depending on when it is activated. Once activated, it will link to Hideki's parent seal which is located on his palm. The parent seal will heat up and the blank space in the centre will fill in with the number of the seal if they are triggered. It doesn't give him any information as to how injured they are or what kind of injury they have sustained, only that it is potentially life threatening and requires immediate attention.

[Space-Time • Access Point]
A-Rank Augment Fūinjutsu
A sealing matrix developed by Hideki to serve as an anchoring technique for his teleportation technique, [Network]. The formation of the seal takes up a 1m2 area of space. Once the seal is drawn, Hideki will channel Jikūkan chakra into the seal. Once placed, this seal is permanent until removed. The number of these Fūinjutsu Hideki can have in place at a single time is a number equal to his (Instinct/2).

[SanjOnu] Step 1

Post by Ace Trainer » Thu Jan 10, 2019 12:53 am

Shio's smile widened for a second and his pen retreated into his sleeve. Taking a few steps, he began a series of hand seals. The line of seals with his fingers was long, indicating quickly that it was not a low ranked technique he was performing. There was a momentary pause, hardly distinguishable to anyone not extremely adept, and then another set of seals quickly to follow. The second set was just as long, and when he finished, he let out a small breath of air. Two A-rank techniques weren't going to exhaust all his chakra, but Shio's stamina pool was not enormous, and it would take a toll on him performing too many techniques.

Nodding towards Hideki, Shio began to walk. He wasn't taking the lead at all, and he'd allow Hideki to outpace him for a moment so that he could walk side by side with the bannin. The pen fell from his sleeve and he began writing through the air.

"It will take some time for me to be ready. Shortly, I'll need to perform another technique for when we arrive. I'll put the villagers to sleep. Anyone not capable of performing genjutsu should fall asleep. Which...well should be the entire village to be honest."

He paused, his eyes looking towards the sky suggesting he was thinking, before scribbling an addition onto the floating symbols.

"I'll need to repeat all my provisions. I'm not sure how large this village is and my range is only but so big. It might take me some time to put the whole village under, and travel far enough to make sure I'm hitting the edges. In that time...well, they'll probably respond when they start witnessing people fall asleep en masse."

Shio's confidence in this seemed incredibly appropriate. But also concerning. He was young. It would be easy for him to overlook a lot of details.

A-rank Genjutsu Fable
Focusing on any number of [Characters], Shio will do the hand seals for this technique then speak out loud, “And now, you sleep.”, for the post following this, an overwhelming drowsiness will overcome anyone afflicted with the genjutsu, and if they do not kai out of the genjutsu prior to the end of the post, will fall into a deep sleep. A genjutsu stat of 10 is needed to break out of this technique.

Package: A - Level 4
A-rank Package Genjutsu

Hideki merely observed as Shio ran through an extensively long set of hand seals. A-Rank, then. "Interesting. Oh, yes, that reminds me." As they walked Hideki closed his eyes and let his Mind's Eye reach out to touch Shio's chakra. It was a hassle, walking blind, but something he was accustomed too and it was a relatively clear beach. "Putting them all to sleep has it's uses, but what is it you plan on doing with them after they are all sleep? Kill them? Use other Genjutsu to ingratiate them towards you? And what about reinforcements, do you have a plan for dealing with those? Can you release the sleep Genjutsu en masse or shall we need to wake them all individually for you to apply other illusions?"

He wasn't mocking the child's decisions so much. It was simply an attempt to get the child to think further than two steps ahead. After he had completely recorded Shio's chakra signature, Hideki turned his attention to the village ahead, his senses stretching even further, trying to find the exact places that Shio would need to be in order to effect the village en masse. "How far can this technique of yours reach, precisely? I can likely position us precisely to effect the largest number of individuals possible."

This jutsu is an even further extension of [Broad Sense]. With this jutsu, a sensor sacrifices quality for quantity. They can view to much greater distances compared to a normal sensor, but their ability to differentiate between people starts to become muddled, meaning multiple people in close proximity will appear simply as a large chakra mass, without the users being able to distinguish how many people are there. By meditating, they are able to start to sense further and further away. For each post of meditating, they are able to see one third of a mile out, up to a max of posts equal to 1/2 their control (rounded up).

Shio cocked a brow at the questions Hideki had. Was he doubting him? He didn't understand why the bannin was being so critical of him. To Shio, it didn't register that Hideki was trying to help him grow, so he felt a little annoyed by the matter. It became immediately obvious by the look on his face. He looked down to the ground, making sure ot keep his pace even with Hideki's, thinking about what the bannin asked. Part of him considered just ignoring the questions, but he decided not to be disrespectful, even with how rude it seemed Hideki was being.

Thats why theres two of us.

The response seemed genuine, but also seemed to be a smart ass response to Hideki as well.

"We can kill them, if you want. I think we should aim for peace. While they're asleep I can't put more genjutsu on them. And to be honest, I don't think the lesser people are our concern. They don't care who governs them, do they?"

He paused, thinking about the matter.

"It depends. We can kill them all if you'd like. Decimate the population. But, what would that say of Kirigakure. We should try to leave this place populated. Kill the people at top at a minimum, anyone who stands against us in the process? But otherwise a....'peaceful' take over. My voice can reach out to around 150m from my body in all directions.

While they were coming off as statements, it was clear that Shio was more asking than telling. He wanted to make sure that the guidance he was suggesting was what Hideki wanted to do. He was the bannin after all. Why was Shio calling the shots.

"A wise decision." Hideki muttered. He couldn't see the writing so much as sense it. Even with his Mind's Eye as blurry as it was focusing on reaching out as far as possible, Shio was close enough that he could sense the shape the chakra was making. "Killing is usually a last resort. Live specimens are far more useful than deceased ones. As to whether they care or not who rules them, it depends on the people and the place. Some are fiercely independent, others can be fervent worshippers of their leader. In this instance, however, I believe you are correct. If their way of life isn't interrupted in a negative way, I sincerely doubt they would pay any mind to who sat in the throne, so to speak." At the mention of the reputation of Kiri, Hideki merely shrugged. "It matters not what people think, as long as they obey. The rule of law can be enforced through many means, and while peace is preferable, fear can be just as effective in the short term."

As his senses stretched, Hideki began picking up a few blips here and there. They were all roughly in the same direction but they weren't close enough for them to be the outskirts of the village. "Outliers. People outside the village, possibly working fields? Roughly two thirds of a mile, that direction." Hideki pointed, ensuring Shio was aware. "Nothing we should need to worry about or go out of our way to subjugate. The likelihood of them even noticing the goings on in the village until everything is over is negligible at best."

As Hideki considered their rough plan, the scientist shrugged once more. "Once the village is put under, we deal with what outliers there are, the plan is… find their elder or leader, put them under a loyalty Genjutsu, and be done with it, seeing as you cannot affect everyone with a loyalty status once they have been put to sleep. Control the shepherd and the sheep shall follow."

Shio looked over towards Hideki. Loyalty genjutsu? Who did this guy think Shio was? Did he even have any techniques like that, or did Hideki simply expect him to make one up on the fly? It was that easy. And even then, would a 'loyalty' genjutsu even be sufficient for their mission? This was something Shio had learned from an early age about perceptions of genjutsu. Even very competent shinobi rarely had a rounded understanding of how genjutsu worked due to the rarity of the style. This frustrated him.

He began to seal again, his pace slowing momentary as he repeated the entire process from before once more. The long string of seals, the momentary pause, and another string. He let out an exhaustive sigh. It was rare for him to perform such high ranking jutsu back to back like this. Hideki mentioned the outsiders and Shio's eyes diverted that way for a moment before electing to ignore them in agreement to what Hideki said. What was this guy really offering outside of some sensory if Shio was going to be doing all the leg work?

The pen fell from his sleeve again as he matched his pace with Hideki again, letting out an exhalation of air and then swiping the pen through the air, the scribbles jagged and small reflecting his reserved annoyance.

Don't really have any loyalty genjutsu. And even if I did, it'd only be temporary. From what I understand we're looking for a more long term solution. I believe the Daimyo is in Hakone so Kusatu should only have a local leader I would think. Unless you have other intel?''

"There are means of making Genjutsu permanent. Well, as permanent as anything can be in this world." Hideki replied. "And if you do not have the means of bending their will towards your own, then I will step in and handle it." The bright dot of blue that was Shio beside him flared brightly and Hideki recognized it as the sign of chakra being actively used. He was preparing his next round of techniques, whatever that meant. Hideki did not understand the exact mechanics of how Shio's unique abilities functioned, but he would very much like to cut him open one day and find out.

"You and I both have the same intelligence regarding the situation, Mistaki. If you weren't worried about the local leader you wouldn't be wasting chakra here and now. We could have simply walked straight through town. Since you are going to the effort of ensuring the town is put to sleep, it would be best to ensure that the local leader did not encourage them to follow us to Hakone when they awoke." They were getting closer to the village and Hideki was started to see the masses of blue energy that signified groups of people. It was still at least a mile off. The drain of maintaining his technique this long was beginning to take its toll but he kept it going.

"Killing the man would encourage the locals to rise up in revolt if he was beloved. If he was hated, we could likely turn them to our side. Seeing as you're already wasting chakra preparing all of these other techniques however, we do not have the time to gather that kind of intelligence. Putting them to sleep won't last forever and if it takes longer than anticipated to get through whatever defences the Daimyo has at his disposal, then I would prefer to not have to worry about an entire village seeking the reason they suddenly passed out in the middle of the day. Ensuring the leader's loyalty is to us, we can hope that they can diffuse the situation in our stead, should it come to that."

Shio's eye this time didn't divert to Hideki as he was speaking. Instead they seemed locked in front of him as the two continued forward towards their destination. He let the words Hideki was saying hang between them for some time, the silence becoming the new normal for a moment while he thought on it. It seemed Hideki was pushing towards a specific resolution, or at least that's how Shio was interpreting it. He frowned at this thought, partially because the dawning realization that they might have to kill a large group of people was a resolution that Shio had hoped to avoid given the parameters of the mission. He was not one who fancied killing en masse. What 10 year old was? He understood death, and his specific belief system didn't put any consequence in the after-life. It was the objective, after all, to rejoin the melody of the universe. Of course, if this was truly the destination, believers would simply commit suicide. Even at 10 Shio understood there was a grander purpose to this life and their existence in totality beyond simply reaching the end game.

Finally he reached into the air, scribbling in the air his ambiguous symbology that translated itself.

Kusatu is simply a stop along the way. And it might be a helpful intimidation tactic. From what I'm understanding what you're saying, it might be in our best interest to simply kill off the town in its entirety?

This was certainly a question. It was clear that Shio wasn't entirely comfortable with the idea, and seemed slightly interested in making the idea clearly Hideki's and not his own. Hideki would have far less issue with shouldering the blame for a mass genocide than Shio would, that was for sure.

"If its worth anything, in my experience genjutsu sleep tends to lend towards memory loss. An entire village falling asleep likely won't even occur to them, even if they fall out in the middle of the street."

Genjutsu was certainly mysterious in nature, he had few concerns about the village awaking in a mass hysteria.

Hideki paused in his steps and turned his head to face where he knew Shio to be, even though he couldn't actually 'see' him at this moment. "What part of what I just said did you misconstrue as a desire to kill off the village? My intent is to ensure their leader's loyalty to our cause and in turn ensure the village's loyalty." Had he mentioned killing? He didn't think he had. In fact, he had told the child it was a wise idea to avoid killing. The scientist sighed heavily and turned his attention back towards his senses, which were now extending out beyond a mile. That, combined with their closer proximity to Kusatsu, was giving Hideki a clearer picture of what they would need to deal with.

"How much time do you need between uses of this technique? I can get us across the village to the optimal release points in an instant if necessary, though I warn you now I need some time between uses. If you intended to prepare more of these mass illusions, then space them out." It would also be incredibly draining on Hideki's chakra. Manipulating the fabric of space-time was exhausting even for the simplest of tasks, folding space between two points so that he and Shio could move across it instantly would be draining to the point of requiring rest afterwards.

Still, it was better to deal with the situation as quickly and efficiently as possible. Even if Shio's Genjutsu did somehow trigger memory loss, Hideki doubted an entire village falling asleep in intervals would go completely unnoticed. Especially if the people he had noticed outside the village were unaffected and came back to find their entire village unconscious in the middle of the day.

Shio couldn't help but roll his eyes at Hideki. The man was being a little confusing in how he was approaching this. And nothing of this miniature tirade or lesson or whatever he wanted to call it was really answering the question of what they were going to do once everyone was asleep. There was relief though. Shio didn't want to really have to kill off thousands of people so that not being Hideki's intent was a nice thing to learn.

"So how do we ensure that."

Was a simple question, Shio was trying to get to the point, especially with his limit approaching quickly.

The second question, though, was a good one, as he began doing a set of hand seals once more.

Upon finishing them, he scribbled in the area, resuming their pace,

"I'm spacing it out in the approximate time it will take me to travel 300 meters presuming the need to avoid a few obstacles. That will allow me to cover the distance to make sure I'm striking maximum range with my voice each time. If you can cover the distance instantly that is sufficient too."

One of the things Shio had learned about the pen was that it conveyed idea, not precise language. This, he had found, did a good job of presenting Shio at the level of anyone he was speaking to because they would always receive his thoughts at a level in which they spoke too. To his peers, Shio sounded like another 10 year old. To his superiors and elders, he sounded far more mature than he truly was. It was useful in blending in with shinobi groups and operating in the manner that he did.

[SanjOnu] Step 1

Post by Sanjuro » Fri Jan 11, 2019 5:42 pm

"With Genjutsu. I may not have focused on the art as much as yourself, but I am capable of performing one or two Genjutsu that have incredible potency. Once the leader is loyal to me, there are a few options, though the one I would prefer to observe would be to make the illusion of loyalty permanent via a fuuinjutsu I have developed." Hideki shrugged as if the plan didn't bother him in the slightest. "If that plan fails to succeed, then we simply move on as you originally suggested. Once we control the Daimyo or remove him and install our own seat of power, then the local leader will become a moot point."

Having Kusatu under their figurative control would be a boon, to be certain, but at the end of the day it was an unnecessary one. All it took to control a city was to control its leader and if Hideki could get a clear line of sight then he could simply teleport into their Daimyo's place of residence and go from there. The problem would become anything that got in their way. Even smaller countries had decent defenders in place in this day and age. Yes, they couldn't wield chakra, but their physical skill was such that they could most definitely match a shinobi in open combat.

Between Shio and himself, he doubted it would come to that. If it did then they might have some issues. Neiither were open combatants. Shio seemed to rely heavily on his unique voice and ability to delay mass effecting Genjutsu while Hideki himself preferred the use of poisons and delaying tactics. Perhaps it would have been a wise decision to bring along some cannon fodder or a meat shield. Then again, with his sealing array set up, he could always just teleport them out of any immediate danger should the need be great enough.

"We're getting close. How much longer until your first technique is ready?" The masses of chakra he could see where beginning to overwhelm his senses. He surely hoped that Shio had enough chakra to deliver his Genjutsu to such a large amount of people.

Hideki's plan was forthright and simple, and he wasn't putting all the pressure on Shio. Shio did have some concerns, in regards to effective this would be. He wouldn't tell Hideki this, but, he'd never put such a large number of people to sleep before. Hence the repeating of the jutsu. He was a little concerned, frustrated perhaps, that he couldn't reach a greater range. He was allegedly the embodiment of the universe. His voice should be able to to reach the stars themselves if he so desired.

Thinking about the potential of having to fight someone else as well, he did have his concerns. He was sure Hideki would be able to handle anyone they ran into. But these were commoners, individuals who didn't even know chakra existed, how would they be able to break his genjutsu?

'Not much longer, we'll need to travel shortly into the village, yes? I won't be able to communicate at that point. I think my writing might throw us off."

He frowned, the village was in sight, and they would need to proceed soon.

'If you could tell me when we're at the best position to start, I would appreciate that...is there anything else we should be concerned about?'

It was a good question. And locating the 'big bad' for a lack of better terms, in this village would end up being Hideki's job too. With Shio's inability to talk, their communication would be limited. They'd need to sort this all out before they went in.

"Scanning as far as I am allows for very little in the way of detail. Finding a specific threat at this range is almost impossible without extremely taxing my chakra reserves. I'll periodically scan the area when you begin putting the locals to sleep. Any threats that are somehow unaffected will register far easier when the chakra sources around them are inactive."

Hideki concentrated on the large amounts of information his technique was churning out. The more chakra signatures he picked up, the more blurred they became, which made picking out an individual chakra source that could potentially be more powerful that the others a hassle. Still, he could detect almost the entire village at this point, given how close they were to the outskirts.

"Give me a moment."

Halting his footsteps, Hideki cocked his head to the side as he started to piece together what his Mind's Eye was seeing. Large clusters of chakra were gathered in certain points, others were moving in smaller groups towards said clusters. He committed everything to memory, gauging how far away he 'felt' they were to the sources and with a little mental arithmetic judged the best positions to affect the largest number possible.

"This way."

Letting the technique fade, the subtle blue glow of chakra around him vanished as his energy stopped channelling both to conserve energy and not give themselves away as hostiles to any locals they ran into. Just the sight of their hitai-ate would give them away as shinobi which was usually enough to set these smaller village folks on edge. Guiding Shio towards the first point of those he had calculated, he turned his head left and right, scanning the people for any threats and finding none. Still, he subtly switched out the needles currently loaded in his launcher for ones coated in a paralytic.

They were close enough that Shio could start the next bit. Beginning to channel, he listened to what Hideki was saying, nodding in understanding. It made sense to him. Pulling up the hood on the jacket he was wearing, Shio hoped the pair would appear relatively lowkey. Like a sage and his young ward. When the channeling was complete, he began the hand seals. They were close now, and he wouldn't be able to perform hand seals again until those around him were asleep. If any of the awake villagers saw them performing hand seals, they'd be immediately outed as shinobi.

When his hand seals done, Shio let out a soft sigh, and then nodded. He'd have one more set to do for his sleep technique, he figured it was a good time. Hideki seemed preoccupied with some other jutsu, so he began the seals again. Repeating the entire sets one of more time in order to have it ready. Timing was everything, after all. Walking into the village gates, he was immediately met with a lot of bright smiles and excitement. He had heard the buzzing of activity from outside the walls, but once being inside of them he was surprised at the drastic change in mood. His eyes drifted quickly to a group of children playing off around a group of stalls. These kids were almostly certainly his age, and their behavior was something Shio never really got to indulge in. Their boisterous laughter brought excitement to the air around him.

A shame he never got to participate in these sort of things.

He looked towards Hideki for a moment, wondering if the bannin would comment on the personality of the village they were about to bring an enormous change to.

[SanjOnu] Step 1

Eyes flicking from happy face to happy face drew nothing from Hideki. No remorse at what was to come. If everything went according to plan, their lives would barely change in the immediate future. If things went awry, they'd all be dead by morning. In either case, Hideki didn't see people. Just numbers. Potential experiments. Resources to be used and discarded as necessary. He guided Shio through the streets, taking into account the distance between where they were and roughly when he estimated Shio's technique would go off, he picked up his speed a little, lengthening his stride.

Kusatsu's point on the coast would serve as a decent staging ground for the Armada heading into Lightning Country and Fire Country. That was the only reason he could think of for taking control of this point before taking control of the port capital on the southern side of the island. Once they had control of the north-west coast, Hideki would send a message back to the village informing them of their success and begin the process of moving ships loaded with laborers and materials for the conversion process. It would also, should they need it, give them backup much quicker should they need it upon reaching Hakone.

Still, it was strange knowing that their actions here could and likely would lead to war. It was something the scientist had desired for many years now. Many of the greatest creations of humanity came from war. Warring with the Spirits in the past is what gave humans chakra. Wars between people led to the formation of the hidden villages. War between the villages led to greater and more impressive defences, advances in medicine to cure the advances in weaponry. Peace bred passivity and Hideki loathed stagnation.

A small smile, the first outward display of emotion he had given since arriving, stretched across Hideki's face. If everything went well, they would soon usher in the dawn of a new era. One where he would have all the test subjects and funding he could ever desire. His quest for understanding would reach new heights and that thought was salivating.

"We’re almost there."

Shio heard Hideki's words and nodded in understanding. He was entirely unaware of what Hideki was thinking, so he couldn't appreciate the irony in how different there approaches to these matters was. To him, these were people. Each of them individuals with their own value, their own purpose, their own...voice. Shio was raised on the value of the individual, specifically, the power of one voice. So to see all these people and to know that they could easy be dying to his hand if things went wrong really weighed heavy on his heart. Even if he didn't kill them, if they didn't fall in line with Kirigakure as planned, they would all die none-the-less. To Shio, he was still responsible regardless.

War was not Shio's mission, and interestingly enough, it was something that hadn't entirely crossed Shio's mind. He knew that Kirigakure would need Soul Country as a tactical position, and that it would serve as a reliable place for missions and staging, but it had not yet occured to him that this purpose was one that was only useful at a specific period: war time.

They were finally in position, and Shio turned towards Hideki, locking eyes with him across their glasses for only a moment, confirming that they were both prepared. Once they started, there would be no turning back.

Shio formed a wide smile on his face. One that didn't truly seem happy. Closer to devious, childish perhaps. It was one of someone who was getting to use a power he did not often get to.

Hideki would hear his voice, but experience nothing else. A soft voice, soothing, almost like a lullaby. It was not child-like, but instead sounded almost motherly in intonation and pitch. A mere whisper, just loud enough to hear, hardly loud enough to discern.

Relax, breath deep.

Shio's mind raced, suddenly aware of hundreds of people, every body in his range being made a character for his techniques.

And now, you sleep.

The effect would not be immediately apparent. Moments would pass, Shio's eyes passing through each body. Then like a chain reaction he watched people stretching their arms, yawning, rubbing their eyes. And then, one by one, they would begin collapsing to the ground.

Post by Sanjuro » Mon Jan 14, 2019 8:55 pm

Hideki's head turned towards Shio, one eyebrow raised, as he felt the soothing tone of the ten-year old's voice washed over him. He almost flared his chakra in response just out of instinct but felt no surge of chakra within his own system, just Shio's voice in his ears. It truly was a fascinating ability, the way his voice spread to everyone. Hideki pointed upwards and with only that warning, he grabbed Shio's collar and held tight while focussing chakra into the soles of his sandals. The fuuinjutsu flared bright blue and the duo were standing on a platform 20 meters in the air a moment later.

Hideki surveyed the landscape, his smile widening as he saw the large amounts of people collapsing to the ground in waves. "Well, that is effective, isn't it?" While he understood in theory how effective this child could be, it was another thing to see the reality of his power. "We shall move by air, far easier to reach our next destination on time and we can spot anyone that wasn't affected within the area." Though he sincerely doubted anyone would in this backwater.

Propelling them through the air using short bursts so they could stop and survey the people below occasionally, Hideki made sure Shio was secure before each 'jump'. The last thing he needed was his primary weapon falling to an untimely demise. Now that it had started, there was no need to worry about stealth. If any of the villagers even thought to look up and had a bow, they would need to pierce the barrier first and even then, Hideki could likely turn away any attacks before they became too much of a threat.

"Enjoy the view, Mistaki. Your handiwork is truly a sight to behold."

The people fell out, and Shio couldn't help but smile watching as they collapsed to the ground. He knew he had work though and began channeling, a simple D-rank technique once more, followed again by hand seals. He didn't want to do this anymore honestly, he wanted to stay and watch these people fall out one by one. In that moment he wasn't the voice of the universe, an emmissary of his people, or even a shinobi of Kirigakure. He was simply a boy finally trying to really see how much fun his toy really was. And boy did he enjoy this. There was only a moment of glee though, soon overtaken by the depth of this ability. Shio had heard his voice before, the full power of the voice able to range at 150m like a roar of a beast or the crashing of a building. He'd seen it's effect on people. But this...this was different. It dawned on him just how powerful it was and honestly...it scared him.

Not many children this age were capable of half as much as Shio, and few, if any, carried as much responsibility as he did. As Hideki yanked on him, he'd experience little resistance and Shio seemed lost in his own minded. He let out an exasperated sigh as he was yanked in the air. And began channeling again as they looked over the village. It was larger than he was expecting. He began more long chains of hand seals as Hideki yanked him about taking him from platform to platform. It was quick and effecient, that much was for sure. Another set of hand seals began, and soon finished.

They continued along, and Shio could see the edges of where his voice had taken effect. The people just on the outskirts trying to check in on the people that they'd witness fall. Few and far between. Hideki's words weren't lost on him. It was truly a sight, and it brought him a little reassurance than Hideki recognized that in this moment as well.

He tried to use the height to gauge how much he would have to do the techniques. It was exhausting. Even reducing the chakra cost to as low as he was, with him recovering the chakra faster than he was expending it, it felt exhausting to a degree. His body working in overdrive to maintain a status quo it had not been forced out of at any point in Shio's life.

As they were soaring through the air and getting closer and closer to their intended destination, Hideki released a pulse of sensory chakra. He was scanning each time they landed on another barrier, searching for any chakra signatures that were active within the zone of Shio's genjutsu. So far he had found none, which was reassuring, though he wasn't scanning very far either, choosing to conserve chakra with short bursts of the same technique rather than stretching further and further with each passing moment.

He noticed the lack of reaction when he had picked up Shio but chose not to comment on it. Despite his skill and apparent higher thinking, Shio was still just ten years old. It was natural that finally using a grand power on such a scale would cause some level of reaction, though he had not expected such an introspective reaction. Perhaps he should have, Shio was far tamer than the majority of ten-year old's Hideki had encountered in his time. He offered no comfort or words of encouragement other than what he had already said. It was not his job to ensure the child's mental stability, he was simply here to ensure his survival and the mission's success.

Realizing they were coming up on their next destination, Hideki searched for a decent place they could set down so Shio could release the next wave of sleep upon Kusatsu. Thankfully they were far enough away from the initial burst that the few people in the place he had calculated to be the optimal release point had yet to react to a quarter of the village suddenly falling unconscious. Dropping down, he looked at the villagers who noticed their descent with a sardonic smile.

"Don't bother running. It won't save you."

He closed his eyes and released another wave of chakra, a light blue aura appearing around him that sent the small minded villagers who were largely unaware of the supernatural energy fleeing and screaming. Then he felt it. A ping that that was far larger than any other source he had detected so far.

"Well, this could be a problem."

[Broad Senses]
B-Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: [Beyond Senses], Ninjutsu/Control/Instinct stats of 20
This jutsu is an extension of [Beyond Senses]. With this jutsu initiated, a sensor can focus on individual chakra signatures to get a precise idea of where their opponents are at up to 25 yards. A general sense of the direction and number of chakra sources can be determined at about 50 yards. It should be noted that this jutsu requires intense concentration, often making the user shut their eyes so they can focus on the jutsu solely. Even with high levels of Chakra Control and Instinct, this jutsu can be mentally taxing as it requires the user to sort through the individual chakra sources in the sensor’s range.

[Chakra Read • Evaluation]
A-Rank Ninjutsu
By studying an individual chakra source within his range, Hideki is capable of breaking down and studying everything about the signature. The range at which he can study the chakra signature is determined by which Senses technique he applies at the time. As the body develops both physically and mentally, so does ones chakra signature. Hideki can read these signatures and determine the target's Control, Stamina, Speed, and Strength stats. If the target is a chakra signature Hideki has previously recorded, that information is added to that signature's 'profile'.

What had started out as a relatively quiet and relaxed day, with few incidents or crimes to respond to, was soon turning out to only be the calm before some kind of storm. Demura Kano was an experienced and talented, if lazy, samurai of the village. In his middle age, it would be a wonder why he still patrolled the streets as a regular guardsman, and not held some position of authority such as a captain, or commander. The simple answer to the matter was, that he didn't want to. He wasn't a man that chased power, who strove for accolades. The reason he did what he did, was because he had a sense of duty towards his village and it's people. He had the ability to protect them, and maintain order, that is what he aimed for everyday. Nothing more, nothing less. So up until this point, on supposedly quiet days like this, that goal was easier to obtain.

The screams of the frightened people were collectively loud enough for him to hear several dozens meters away, while he and two others carried out their usual patrol routes through the village. Snapping his head towards the source of the sound, Kano would glance towards his companions. "Let's see what all the noise is about." As they headed towards it, their pace would begin to quicken as they noticed people moving frantically away from the area, the urgency in them rising until they came upon the scene of Shio and Hideki. The fright on the face of the villagers coupled with the smirk on Hideki's face would lead to Kano drawing his katana, his two companions following in suit. "By the law of our lord, identify yourself..." His words trailed off as he glanced over Hideki, making out the forehead protector at his waste, though no recognizing the village it represented. "...shinobi? What are you doing in our village?" He asked hesitantly. Shinobi were always a worrisome sort of people, their abilities often bringing great harm to those they interacted with. He had heard no word of any visitors to the village of his sort, so him being here now only meant something troublesome would occur.

"Go and get reinforcements. Two of use should be enough to hold him for now." Though wondering about the boy that stood besides the ninja, Kano pushed that thought away, as he focused on Hideki, who he saw as the only threat in the situation. The fellow samurai he had been referring to nodded, quickly leaving to contact other patrols nearby, leaving Kano and the one other samurai. "What are your intentions, shinobi?"

As they descended, Shio was still quiet. Letting the weight of his actions pull down on his mind, and allowing Hideki to take the reigns. The people were frightened, and this only concerned Shio more. He didn't like the idea that he was being seen as an invader. That was not his purpose. He was meant to guide people. He had a role as a leader, not a commander. And it was becoming immediately apparent to him that this might be a little more complicated than he had expected it to be. The interpersonal dynamics of people and political nuance was not something a 10 year old was exactly equip to be adept in.

He wasn't as tired as he was expecting himself to be. A benefit of the techniques he had developed to capitalize on his voices range and a goal mass mental incarceration. So when they touched down, he was prepared to speak again and quiet the masses. However, a specific individual approached, and Shio's eyes darted between the newcomer and Hideki. The hood he was wearing hiding the slight look of panic he had.

Swords drawn by three samurai, Shio was hesitant to act. But when they were given the order to get reinforcements, Shio let out a frustrated heh. His kunai were where they always were but hidden from view and his arms moved indiscriminately to be crossed in front of him to appear as non-threatening as possible. If he needed to draw a weapon, his hands were closer now at least.

His mouth opened, just barely, the same soft melodic voice slipping from his lips into the ears of everyone within 150m of him, including the three samurai.

'Relax. We are friends.'

Gentle. Just a soft whisper.

'And now, you sleep.'

Just like before, he watched as there was a slow effect that swept over the people around him. He expected the samurai to show signs slower than the others, but they'd still succumb. Everyone did.

Hideki took a steady, calming breath when he disassembled the chakra signature into its baser parts. He could feel it approaching but let go of the technique, not wanting to expend any more chakra than he already had. They were a powerful opponent but from what he read they have not ever actively controller their chakra, it was all passive. Still, the sheer amount held in such a form was something to be concerned about. As they turned around the corner and stepped into their field of vision, Hideki stepped forward a little, intending to draw their attention to himself. If necessary he could draw them away while Shio worked his Genjutsu.

Thankfully, these appeared to be men of honour, and settled for questioning him first. That would prove to be their mistake. "No one you need be concerned about." Even as he spoke he was glancing towards Shio and smirked as the boy's words washed over them. Keeping a wary eye on the one he had registered with the large chakra sources, but still relatively safe in the assumption he would succumb to the Genjutsu fuelled sleep, he walked closer to Shio and grabbed onto his shoulders once more, leaping into the air and creating a barrier from his shoes with practiced ease.

"You should be able to reach the rooftops from here. Just in case, the next point is three hundred meters south east of this position. That one… has far too much chakra to be normal."

Even as he spoke, Hideki was lifting his arm, taking aim with his senbon launcher. Loaded with his paralytic-coated senbon, he thought it was better to be safe than sorry, and as the samurai was falling asleep he would fire off a single shot of the three he had prepared. It wouldn't last long, and it was more in case the abnormal amount of chakra led to reduced time in the forced slumber than anything.

It would be a waste to kill the man. Once they took control of the village, Hideki would love to examine him far more in-depth. Such powerful humans were exceedingly uncommon, ones that had no active use of chakra even moreso. At least in Hideki's experience. It would be… fun, experimenting on something new.

[Neurotoxin]
A-Rank Insinuative Poison
A poison developed by Hideki in order to render his victim's helpless, paralyzed from the neck down. An off-white viscous liquid, it is best applied to bladed weapons for ranged application. In fact just a few drops introduced to the victim's system via a scratch is enough for the poison to begin taking effect. It will begin as a slight tingling sensation in the area surrounding the entry point of the poison, before developing into full blown paresthesia of the entire body before the paralysis sets in. Once the paralysis is in place, it will prevent the victim from controlling their conscious motor functions. They will still be able to breath, their heart will continue to function as normal, but they will have no conscious control over their body. The only part not affect is their ability to move their eyes, slightly turn their head, and their ability to speak.

Kano noticed that his fellow samurai faltered in his stance as the shinobi stepped forward a bit. He couldn't blame him. The power that shinobi were said to have belonged more so in the realm of fables and stories, than in the real world. Even so, his own stance did not falter. It was at times like these that one had to remain firm and steady, lest they give their opponents a hint of them being afraid. "I'm afraid that was the wrong....", his words drifted off as he heard a soft and soothing voice wash over him, his body seemingly becoming heavier, his thoughts duller. Around him, those people still around seemed to be suffering from similar effects, each eventually collapsing to the ground in a deep slumber.

The sound of steel clanking onto the ground brought his attention to his comrade, who had dropped his weapon, the effects working their way into him as well. What was this? He knew little of the abilities that a shinobi possessed, save for that they required some form of seals made by their hands. The man hadn't made any such move, and his voice didn't sound anything like what he'd heard-

His eyes drifted towards the young boy beside him, whose mouth moved as once more the soothing words enveloped his body. It was him..? Were shinobi so young..? Damn As he felt his limbs grow heavier and heavier, he'd hear the collapse of a body next to him, signaling now that only he remained standing. "Won't... let... you..." He hobbled towards the two, even as they ascended through some unknown means, until eventually, he too succumbed to the melodic command, and collapsed to his knees, falling into slumber.

In the split second before the senbon would strike Kano, his arm would quickly flicker across him, a tink heard at the clash of metal on metal, as the path of the projectile was diverted towards Shio. His arm would slump again, the even breathing of his chest telling of his current state of slumber.

The user's natural instincts have been trained to a level where, even if in an unconscious state, it is able to reflexively act in order to protect itself from harm. This involves being able to deflect, dodge, or avoid attacks, as well as limited engagement if the threats are in a close quarters setting. Because of the state of their consciousness, the user's body is unable to perform techniques of any sort, being restricted to relatively simple movements and strikes. To be quite honest, Shio hadn't really expected the man to last as long as he did. He was impressed, at a minimum. But he fell to it just as anyone else did. He was relieved that the man that had bolted off was one of the first to fall. And Shio looked towards Hideki, expecting the bannin to take off with them. To Shio's surprise, however, he did not. Instead he was firing senbon off. Shrugging, Shio began to channel. To his surprise, however, as he channeled, the samurai responded with a swing of his sword, blocking the senbon and sending them hurdling towards Shio.

They were slow moving enough that Shio didn't even have to finish channeled. Rolling his outside shoulder, his entire body twisted to the inside, allowing the senbon to simply fly past him without issue. He began a series of hand seals, cocking a brow towards Hideki. They were both assessing the situation clearly. The man was obviously asleep. Finishing the hand seals, he began to write:

'Should we just leave him? He's clearly still combat capable. If hes the biggest threat in the area though, he's easy enough to deal with. I'll head off towards the next point if you want to brain wash him.'

The word brain wash here was vague. The meaning conveying brain washing, but clearly displaying that Shio wasn't entirely conveying that meaning. It suggested to a more prudent listener that perhaps Shio wasn't entirely confident in the ethics surrounding what Hideki was planning on doing.

'Either way, I need to get to the next point so I can release the technique and put the next group under.'

Again, hidden meaning. Despite the words not being in the information sent in his scribbles, Shio was conveying that he had to do the technique or it would incur a greater cost, so he couldn't sit around and wait for them to plan around this surprisingly effective defender of the village.

A slow smile spread across his face, as he watched the clearly unconscious body react, eyes narrowing as he watched the movements with care and took note of the fact that they appeared to be sluggish. Still fast enough to react to anything he had outside of a few techniques. Logic dictated that they should let sleeping dogs lie. Shio's writing however left a lingering thought in his mind. He had initially only intended to experiment on this individual but if he could capture him… that changed things. A soldier at their back and call? The current lack of physical strength in the team was apparent, having a disposable body capable of defending them was tempting.

"Perhaps it would be best if we left. It'd be a shame to leave our new acquaintaince without company though, hm?"

Even as he was speaking, there was a glow of blue surrounding him which split off, creating another Hideki in his wake. He reached into his coat and tossed a vial over his shoulder as he turned to leap away in the direction he had said. The second Hideki caught it and turned without a word, heading back in the direction of the samurai, considering him with a wary eye. His Genjutsu wouldn't work on a sleeping target, he knew that much, and this body could react with enough speed to deflect a single senbon from his launcher so using the vial of poison would require more finesse. There were other options, ones that would consume the chakra of this new form entirely.

Deciding to test a theory, the clone took one of the cloned vials of poison from his own coat and rolled it between his fingers, considering it, before shrugging and loading it into the under barrel of his launcher. Lifting his arm, he fired it at the sleeping form of the samurai. The problem with a replicated poison was that it vanished when the source did, taking the vast majority of its symptoms, short of physical damage, with it. The benefit to this was it wasn't a waste of the original to test a theory.

This glass was designed to shatter on impact, and when it did it would release the liquid inside that rapidly evaporated into a toxic gas. Would the unconscious mind recognize the danger and move, or would it stand and breath in the toxins? Did it recognize the difference between a moving, physical danger and that which simply remained in the air, stationary, requiring only that the victim breath?

[Mental Arts • Martial Analysis]
B-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: 30 Instinct
With his skills in perception, Hideki can quickly judge the particulars of an incoming attack. Efficient defence depends on observing and responding, and Hideki is able to tell the speed at which an object is traveling, the distance between himself and the object, and how much damage it is likely to do with its current velocity. This can even be used on close range attacks such as sword swings or punches.

[Shadow Clone]
B-Rank Ninjutsu
After channelling his chakra, Hideki proceeds to create a number of clones of himself (maximum is equal to 1/3rd Hideki's stamina). Unlike the Clone Technique, these clones are actual copies of Hideki in both appearance and substance. Hideki's chakra is evenly distributed among every clone, giving each clone an equal fraction of Hideki's overall power. The clones are capable of performing jutsu on their own and can even bleed, but they will usually disperse after one or two solid blows. The clones will be created in roughly the same condition as the original and any experience the clones gain during their existence is transferred to Hideki once they are dispersed. Given that the clones are an exact replica of Hideki, they share the same stats except for stamina, which is determined by the number of clones presently in effect.

[Paranoid Purple]
C-Rank Inhalant Poison
Paranoid Purple is a liquid that contains an oxidization agent, thus when the vial the poison is contained in breaks it rapidly expands into a cloud of purple gas, making it one of Hideki's more dangerous poisons to even himself. Upon inhalation, the poison will begin to affect the part of the brain that controls fear. The victim will feel a general sense of unease, as if they were being constantly watched, and any shadows around them will seem to come alive and be closing in on them, leaving them unable to focus completely on the task at hand. Ultimately, despite the potentially powerful effects, the oxidization agent takes away from some of the strength of the poison, thus it doesn't last an incredibly long time.

Kano's sleep was a dreamless one, just a void of unconsciousness that made the passage of time seem like it raced by. It wasn't a necessarily deep one, however. The technique he'd learned, the one that had kept him alive so many long nights when out on guard duty or on patrol, was created so that he may rest while he stayed restless. His body would be able to protect itself to a limited degree until his mind finally stirred and made him awaken, to face whatever threat that had disturbed him. Perhaps unfortunately for the two shinobi, they would have had an easier time had they actually left this one sleeping dog to lie.

His sword would streak across his form once more, slashing the projectile in order to deflect it, only for the delicate vial to shatter. His body would move purely from muscle memory, his freehand working in tandem with the hilt of his sword to push him away from whatever fragments may have come from his attempted strike. Moving backwards several meters, he'd land in a crouched position, his sword now in a readied stance as his body recognized the danger would not be a one off threat.

His face twitched as his breathing increased, signs that Kano... was beginning to stir.

Shio turned to Hideki. He was getting to work on this samurai and Shio knew from his internal time that he really needed to kick off before he ran out of time on his technique. He kicked off of his feet almost immediately upon realizing that Hideki would not be shooting him off to where-ever he would be for the next leg, and rocketed himself at full speed. He propelled into the air, launching himself away from the samurai to ensure that if he did suddenly wake, he would have to make it through Hideki and clone first. He turned back for a second only to realize Hideki was following him too. But he was faster, and he would not take any more time to let him catch up. They had their roles and their responsibilities, and Shio and Hideki both knew what they would have to do. To be honest, Shio wasn't too concerned about a clone Hideki facing off against the samurai. They were shinobi, after all. And while yes, samurai were exceptionally strong in some cases, Hideki was far beyond the expectation for a shinobi.

He bounded over the buildings, not many were tall, and rarely were Shio's footsteps long enough for his full weight to be expressed on the building, not that he weighed much as is. As he escaped the range of the currently sleeping individuals, and moved onto where people were awake he did consider hiding his presence but decided it was mostly a moot point. He didn't see the point in tryin to creep around, especially given how much of a rush he was in.

Each step his feet dug into the surface, launching himself forward with all his strength. He decided going the full distance wasn't entirely necessary. He had gotten a better look at the village and was confident with the range he had planned for. With that in mind, he decided he'd plan for a few people wandering into the area he had already handled. When he finally got to the point he was comfortable with, he released a small sigh, the exhalation of air followed immediately by his soft voice.

'Be calm...'

He smiled, his mind lighting up with the thousands of characters coming into his presence. Comfortable with this and taking the time to catch his breath.

'And now, you sleep'

[SanjOnu] Step 1

Post by Sanjuro » Tue Jan 22, 2019 9:45 pm

While Hideki followed along behind Shio, using his platforms and boots to keep an eye on everything from above, the clone considered the movements of the samurai. While he had reacted as he had thought he would, he did not anticipate the man moving from his position. The closer he looked, the more he could see signs of life coming back to the man and Hideki knew he had very limited time to come up with a plan.

And all out assault could defeat the samurai but would drain the clone of all of its chakra with no guarantee of success. He could create an explosion to kill him but again he didn't want to waste a perfectly viable test subject. Subterfuge or manipulation were his best bets. The problem there lay in the fact that the samurai may not care greatly about his peers or people under his charge, though Hideki found that to be incredibly unlikely given his apparent skill and station. No samurai with chakra reserves that large would be in a small port town like this unless they chose to be.

Making a choice, the clone stepped up to the sleeping bodies of the other samurai that the man had called out to originally and kneeled next to them. Placing a hand on either one, he closed his eyes and brought forth his chakra, opening a small tear in reality in order to push one of them through. Holding a living being in his Realm would drain chakra from the source, not from the clone, thankfully. He grabbed the other by the collar and carefully lifted him up, ensuring he would not accidently drop the man, before leaping up into the air, using his boots to propel him and then create a barrier to remain aloft.

When the samurai would begin to wake, the clone would call out while holding the other samurai over the edge of the barrier. "Master samurai, if you wish to see your comrades or in fact anyone in this village alive again, I suggest you drop your blade so that we may have a… civilized discussion." As he spoke, he flared his chakra once more and sent the other of the samurai's comrades into the Realm.
Hideki felt a tug on his chakra as he was following Shio and knew something strange was going on. His clone had accessed the Hospital for some reason. Seeing Shio seemed to have his Genjutsu well in hand, Hideki touched his glasses and channelled a little chakra to them and then vanished from the material plane and reappeared in the blinding white lobby of his own person pocket of space and time. He arched an eyebrow when he saw the sleeping form of a samurai and the other eyebrow raised when another appeared alongside him.

"Well… it seems I have a plan. Wonderful." Stepping up beside the two samurai, Hideki smirked. "Still, it wouldn't do to leave you two alone in here. Come along, gentlemen." Picking them up, Hideki pulled them out of the Realm in order to conserve chakra. He left the pair on a nearby rooftop, ensuring not to toss them around too much to avoid them waking prematurely, before he took to the skies once more. "Now then, where has that child gotten to?"

[SanjOnu] Step 1

Things went about more or less completely unknown to the partially slumbering sword user now, his body staggering into a standing position after a few moments in the crouched position as the well polished blade of the man's sword swayed back and forward slightly in front of the samurai's torso. It was like a sleeping dragon that was simply waiting for its prey to expose himself before attacking as everything was more or less absent minded due to the almost sleeplike state that the mind was in. Yet, droplets of sweat could faintly be seen forming on the exposed skin of the swordsman, a tinge of fear slowly beginning to loom within the man's dreamless mind.

After a short time passed in which the young shinobi had already left the scene and only the clone of the older shinobi remained and just as the fluttering eyes now snapped open and Kano's senses returned to him they couldn't help but be drawn to Hideki. 'That voice!' Both of the man's eyes held a certain sharpness about them now, like two sheathed blades attempting to penetrate the man's soul before him and yet a feeling of fear couldn't help but linger in the back of the samurai's thoughts. "You dare try to blackmail me in this manner? Shinobi's truly have no honor..."

As much as the swordsman wished to flash forwards and attack he hesitated, part of it was due to his fellow villagers being held in such a manner, helpless to fight back in their current state. The other was the unknown feeling of fear creeping through Kano's mind from the gas he'd inhaled after instinctively striking the vial in his sleeping state. "What did you do with them?!" A powerful yell would leave the man's mouth as the sharp tip of the katana blade was pushed through the air in Hideki's direction as the shinobi caused for the two men to disappear now. This was something he'd never seen before and couldn't help but be caught of guard and even enraged feeling that the man had possibly went back on the very words that he'd spoken just moments before.

"A civil discussion? Ha..ha...ha..." A strange laugh seemed to slip through the man's thin lips now as his head tilted upwards and a slight bend appeared in the man's knees. The hilt of the weapon now found both hand gripping it in a thrusting style grip as it was pulled back closer to the samurai's chest. He couldn't help but laugh at the notion of the civil discussion with these two shinobi who had appeared in such a manner within his homeland. The muscles within the man's body tensed up as he was able to fight this man despite the growing fear within his mind, using his years of training and meditation to hold it at bay for the moment before he disappeared from his spot on the ground. Though the attack was a simple thrusting motion the sheer level of speed and strength contained in the short ranged dash sent a shockwave outward up to five meters on either side of the warrior at half his strength.

The thrust itself was made with such speed and strength that it caused for a strange suction to be released in front of the blade, this suction was also at half the strength of the man and would attempt to pull anyone in front of the blade's path into the blade. It was a intricate attack he'd created a few years back and it was used to surprise those who were at the same level of speed as himself. The suction often be enough to delay a dodge from the opponent in order to land the piercing thrust through one of the opponent's vital areas. It was only opponents on this level, the level of the shinobi that stood before him and the boy who’d already left the scene, that could draw out this level of desire to kill that could be felt from the attacking samurai.

[SanjOnu] Step 1

Shio heard a commotion behind him, Hideki and the samurai. Beginning the hand seals, he jumped through the air, landing on top of a building and taking off again towards his next point. He had only prepared twice more for the sleeping techniques, and based on his view of the village, that would likely be all he needed. He was closing in on the last sections, and Shio was beginning to wonder why they were even undergoing all of this. Part of him realized it was in order to weed out powerful combatant, and to handle the situation in a 'peaceful' way. But he truly wondered how much these people cared who was in charge. Couldn't they have simply gone straight to the Daimyo's village, barged into his compound? Who was going to stop them? None of these people could break genjutsu, let alone put up any sort of fight. Even if the Daimyo had 10 samurai on par with the one Hideki was facing off against, they would simply be put to sleep and Hideki sort with their minds.

He frowned at the thought.

These people would awake, and resume their business thinking some god or demon had entrapped their village for a moment. They'd store it away in their individual mythologies, and many would never be concerned about it again in a week. They'd mention it in passing when they saw someone they hadn't in a few months, and it would escape their minds. They would never see their Daimyo, they likely knew little more about him than his name. And if Kirigakure took over this country in whole, and let operations continue as normal....these people would likely have no idea they were even being ruled by a foreign government. They didn't care about these matters, they were irrelevant to them.

He continued on, making a mental note to Hideki that perhaps they should reconsider their course of action. All this fuss might not entirely be necessary. They could storm the castle and put everyone within range of it asleep and ignore the rest. Who would challenge them? Honestly?

For now, though, he'd continue as planned. No point in changing things without Hideki to consult.

Character: Channel
D-rank Sound Based Genjutsu
Not a true genjutsu, but a variation of an initiator. Shio will channel chakra and speak out loud Should their voice be heard, the target can then be used as a character for a genjutsu for the following 3 posts. While Kai does not work in removing the targeting by [Character], performing a ninjutsu or genjutsu equal or higher in rank to this technique will cancel it out.

Package: D - Level 1
D-rank Package Genjutsu
Shio will add an additional series of hand seals on the end of a technique, packaging it instead of initiating it. This technique must be performed on an D-rank genjutsu of any style, and requires 2 posts. At the end of 2 posts the genjutsu must be initiated, however it will only consume a E-ranks worth of chakra to perform the genjutsu.
