The travels hadn't taken nearly as long as Niku had expected, but had done a significant job of tiring her out. Maybe she'd moved too quickly instead of properly pacing herself. Oh well, she mused, aware that what's done was done. Luckily, she'd been able to rest a couple days at the Cha Outpost, before actually heading into Tea Country.

The Konoha kunoichi left the Outpost, her first foray out of Fire Country by herself. Officially, Niku was currently on vacation, not working as a member of Konoha's ninja forces. While she was traveling in order to visit Iaido's dojo and learn the art's most secretive technique, a technique her grandfather had never even managed to learn, she was doing so as a citizen of Fire Country. For this reason, she had removed any and all Konoha emblems before heading out to explore Tea Country. She had been surprised to be given this time away from work, but she also knew that her work with Mamorinuku and other missions had proven her a competent shinobi, that was why she'd been given permission to travel out of the country on her own. While she was technically still a chuunin, her skills were nothing to be scoffed at and she assumed that Konoha wouldn't mind having a shinobi capable of passing the Ougi on to other Konoha shinobi.

The young samurai headed along the coast, enjoying the change of scenery immensely. She was used to forests and mountains, but the incoming sea breeze and ocean's immensity made the young lady feel more relaxed than she had in ages. Knowing that she had no responsibilities nor worries helped in that regard. Her long ponytail moved with the breeze as the girl seemingly wandered down the coast. She knew roughly where she was going and that there were likely to be many dojos along the way that wouldn't be able to teach her the skill she desired to learn, but for now, she was enjoying the journey as much as looking forward to the destination.

A Crab and a Samurai

Crabman's eyes seemed to flow for a few seconds, just like the waves that were pushing against the ship he was on, as they took in the bright sunlight of early morning. Life seemed strange and alien to him ever since home had sunk. It had only been a couple of days since he was forced to say goodbye to everything he knew, and yet those few days aboard the merchant ship had already taught him so much about real life. He had spent them in isolation and hiding, stealing and diverting as he could, trying not to alert anyone to the fact that a half-crab half-man abomination was living among the crew. He had considered revealing himself and attempt to ask for aid, but after he saw what they did to his crab brethren in pots and pans before sundown he quickly dropped the idea. One close-call was more than enough, he thought to himself. But it had been necessary. After all, the purse full of shiny circles that was sitting on the table of the fat man's room was too pretty to be left abandoned.

Now, here he was. Poking his head out from the cargo hold, he could see a few more ships similar to their own, lined up and resting against the wooden docks. Several people were out and about in what seemed to be a bustling and prosperous trading village. The bristles that sprung from his body rustled with the sounds and smells that surrounded him, as well as with the excitement of a young child that saw an opportunity to feast their eyes on new things. Quickly spying around and making sure his way out of the ship was safe, Crabman quickly and gleefully jogged his way out, pulling his hood up on the way. He couldn't understand why the fat man was making a fuss about things such as "thieves" and "going to have your hands" but he was grateful that he was keeping the rest of the shipmen occupied.

As he neared the end of the docks, he made sure to take in his surroundings and see if there was a way he could act that the pale people wouldn't find strange or too interesting. He didn't need a repeat of the village in the Land of Sharks, he didn't need torches pointed at him and he surely didn't need to escape onto some other ship and spend a few more days living off of fish and hard biscuits.

Luckily, most people around the place seemed to dress like him and the shipmen, thus his confidence doubled as his eyes darted around for the first place he would like to explore. Before he could make a decision, however, his stomach grumbled impatiently. Cradling it with one of his hands, he attempted to console himself. Fish weren't exactly in high quantity inside a trader's ship, and he definitely wouldn't eat crab, which resulted in his famine. As his eyes stopped on a strange place where several pale people sat feasting, the smell hit him. Seaweed. His mind was made up, and he made a bee-line towards the small restaurant.
Techs UsedShow
[King Crab's Fist • Spectral Tuning]
E-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisites: Compound Eyes
Making use of their compound eyes, the wielder can adjust the photoreceptors in their sclera to amplify, diversify, diminish or simplify the absorption of light and colours in their sight. This allows them to adjust to low-light or bright environments both at surface and underwater in order to maintain their eyesight and prevent harm. This does not protect from chakra-born sources of light.

[King Crab's Fist • Flowing With the Currents]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
With their keen eyesight and understanding of human perception, this individual has learned how the attention span of the average person works. With a quick look, they can spot the flow and movement of people, as well as the typical manner of dressing, walk and posture of these crowds. On its own, this technique does nothing but provide information of the user's situation, but it can be used as the foundation for several other techniques.

[King Crab's Fist • Shoaling]
D-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Once the user has analyzed a location, its current populace and the overall risks and lines of sight, they can then apply their knowledge to move almost seemlessly through said space. This technique does not allow one to become invisible. Rather, it makes the user blend into the atmosphere of whatever location they are in, drawing no attention to themselves and thus, not being object to curiosity. This makes it so that average people and untrained vigils are unlikely to take much notice, while anyone trained to spot abnormalities will be able to point out the user. This technique does not override common sense such as previous knowledge of clothing or attempting to hide while walking in a vast, plain expanse with no cover or blindspots.

Despite not being in her hometown of Konoha, Niku felt relaxed and comfortable. These weren't her people and any one of them could attack her at any moment, but it felt like Konoha to her. None of the people carried amazingly large weapons or had death-inducing auras about them, everyone just seemed to be going about their business. Kids were playing in a nearby field, laughing occasionally. Women carried babies and food, likely going home to prepare meals for their other family members. Of course, like her, there were people carrying swords on their hips, but Niku assumed they were fellow samurai or swordsmen of a nearby dojo. None of these people seemed scared and Niku presumed that was why she felt so comfortable amongst them.

It was nice after a couple days of mostly rest to be out and the ocean's breeze was quite refreshing. Niku had never been on a ship before and she stopped to look at the large ships as they swayed with the ocean's motions. There were many people, Sailors, Niku assumed, coming and going from the ships and docks and she wondered what their lives were like. As her mind wandered, an amazing smell wafted by her nose, pulling her from her own thoughts. She turned towards the smell, excited to see a restaurant right there by the docks. Premiere placement, she mused, realizing every sailor who docked here would be going by this place first.

As she looked over her shoulder at the restaurant, a large mass moved in between her and the restaurant. Damn, that's a big dude, she grinned to herself. But if someone that size likes to eat here, it must be as good as it smells. More importantly, at a good price, Niku thought, bringing forth a chuckle from her. She was just a chuunin, so its not like she had lots of extra cash to lasciviously spend on food during this trip. She went ahead and followed what she presumed to be the large man over to the restaurant.

Step by step, creation's favorite crustacean approached the restaurant. With each one he took, the setae that covered his body tingled with the smell of spices, fish, red meats and sake. With each shake of his hairs he overheard a different conversation. Talks of "money", "any good bathhouses nearby" and "I swear, an actual sea monster aboard the ship, I definitely saw him in the night" filled his "ears". It wasn't as if Crabman understood most of the words, but it gave him a sense of company and livelihood. The sea breeze washed away the excess heat and the shade provided solace from the harsh sunlight. Crabman's eyes darted around, their colors and patterns rapidly changing as he felt an end to his hunger coming. Suddenly, they found their target. A bowl of seaweed soup. Steaming, swirling with the freshest and most rubbery of seaweeds. Practically begging for his ever-opening maw. He couldn't control himself, his hand darted towards the bowl.

"Hey! What in the hell is your problem?!" His conquest was rudely interrupted. The man that sat in front of the miraculous bowl had snatched it away from his reach and was now eyeing him with reproach and indignation. He wore similar clothes to the shipmen's and had the same look of someone who's annoyed by having to get up from bed at all. His gritted teeth told Crabman he would not be relinquishing his soup. Thankfully, the angle from which the sailor was staring at his crabperson, coupled with the shade of the interior and Crabman's hood, was enough to keep his crabhead hidden from sight. All the man saw was a huge tower of a person blowing bubbles in response to his hostility.

Beneath the cloth and shadows, however, his frame was shaking. Victory. Nutritious, chewy and overall tasteless victory had been so close and now, not only did he feel it slip between his "pincers", he had drawn attention to himself. Most of the restaurant's patrons now had their eyes on the hulking mass that was Crabman and his shenanigans would not go unnoticed. His head was low and hidden, his feet wrapped and his hands reasonably human in appearance, but any misstep would have the city hot on his tail - or lack thereof - in no time, he was sure of it. His compound eyes searched for a way out of his predicament, spying the faces of the cooks and customers, as well as every nook and cranny in the establishment. They went as far as to lay upon a young woman. She wore an impressive suit of armor, like the ones used by the toy warriors he used to play with as a crabling. Her hair was a long black mane tamed into a ponytail and her eyes brown with flares of red. She carried a sword with her, though she didn't seem to notice it, as if it was part of herself. For a moment, as Crabman noticed her gaze upon him, he wondered if he would be made into crabcakes.

"Oh ho ho! And a very good day to you, sir!" A small man approached from behind him, defusing the situation. He laid a hand amicably yet firmly upon his back urging him on to a corner. The man donned a white shirt and a red apron around his waist. He was thin, but not weak, his fingers were calloused by years of hard work. His voice was commanding even without aggression, and his tongue was quick and sharp. In mere moments, the restaurant had begin to resume its activities, with only the especially curious and the offended sailor himself still eyeing him. Obviously, this man had many years of operating a food and drinks establishment near a sailor's port under his belt, easily silencing any ruckus. "I can see you're a man of appetite, please trust that we can sate it! What will you have? Seaweed soup to start with? Follow me! Let's get a table for a big man like you."

He was awarded an empty table at the edge of the restaurant, as removed from the general populace as possible in the crowded place. Just as he sat, the man of the house vanished in a blur of movements and commands directed at the rest of the staff, eager to earn the profit of the day. With a deep breath, Crabman blew out another stream of bubbles as he sighed in relief. He had only just walked in and already had he suffered such close calls. He could only hope that luck would be on his side long enough for him to eat.

Niku was surprised as the big guy she'd followed into the restaurant tried to steal another man's soup. She was about to step in, see if she could help, but the owner or manager did so before she could and quickly the place was back to normal. She wondered what the man had gone through to be so hungry that he couldn't wait until he'd ordered his own food. She didn't know how ships and rationing worked, but she had to assume that it hadn't been taken care of correctly if the men were so hungry once they returned to land. Despite all that had happened, the man hadn't spoken yet and Niku wondered if there was something to that. If he is mute, maybe his captain had taken advantage of him, she mused, taking a couple steps towards him and his table. It's none of my business though, I can't stop all injustice, stopping and looking to the hostess to point her towards a table.

Once seated at her own table, she couldn't help wonder about the guy in the corner, glancing over there a few times. His body language reminded her of someone who was had been abused, physically, mentally, or both: always had his head down as if trying to make himself smaller and unimposing. The fact that someone so large was so intent on trying to remain unseen troubled the kunoichi, but she couldn't butt into the man's business. Not everyone needed saving and even those that did, didn't always want it. She could, however, do a good deed to a man who may need it... and even if he was a wealthy guy in hiding, it was still a good deed.

"What can I get ya?" The waiter asked as he slid up to Niku's table. He barely looked at her, seemingly looking through her and trying to retain a checklist of what he had to do next.

"I'll have a water," she paused, briefly looking to the menu in her hand. "One of your best selling soup, one onigiri and one yakitori should do it," she finished, looking back up to the waiter.

"Water, Miso, onigiri, and yakitori, correct?" The man asked a question, but his body was already moving as if to leave.

"Actually, I'd like to pay for that man's," she said, gesturing towards the corner where crustacean was seated "... food, as well." The waiter stopped, turning to the corner. Confusion was written all over his face. He looked back to Niku and then back to the corner, before turning back to Niku once more.

"You're buying that thief's meal?" the man asked, purposely lowering his upper body and his volume in hopes that only Niku would hear him.

"I wouldn't exactly call him that, seeing as he failed to steal anything, but yes, I'll be buying his as well as mine." There was a bit of a cocky smirk on the girl's face. The waiter just made a "hmph" sound and headed away, displeased with the encounter but knowing that he couldn't attempt to 'correct' the customer cause they were always right. Niku just hoped the good deed helped the man across the restaurant, even if only a little bit.

The hulking crab snapped out of his paranoid deliberation as the bowl of seaweed soup was set in front of him. His eyes dangled and refocused, and he could see the heat make the air above the bowl tremble and shake. The smell was stronger than ever now, and he could practically taste it without having even touched it. His tongue slipped out in expectation.

"Here you are, sir. I'll be right back with some bread and nigiri." said the waiter as he set down the chopsticks to set-up for the next course. Before he departed, he gestured to his right with a free hand. Crabman didn't need to look to know there was an annoyed twist of the lip on the man as he did so. "I'm also pleased to inform you that your meal has been paid for by that young woman over yonder. Just in case you would like to show your gratitude."

His head snapped to the right, ignoring the fact he had no idea what paying even meant, almost bucking off his hood the way a horse would to an undesired rider. Looking right back at him was the same girl he had seen before. She had sat down at her own table, apparently awaiting her meal. Her sword was still at her side. His fingers nervously rapped against the table as he held his sight on her, the shadow still obscuring his eldritch appearance. What sort of strange game was this woman playing? Was she attempting to lure him in and make him drop his guard so that she would do to him what the pale people did to the little ones aboard the ship? Nonsense, he thought to himself. She probably didn't even like crab, she was too pretty to be so cruel, and even if she did she could be getting some from the waiter. He was too big for her to eat anyway.

Mustering up all his courage, the huge-bod decapod raised his hand and slowly waved it side to the side, blowing a stream of bubbles upwards as he greeted her, testing the waters. He sipped his seaweed soup, never breaking eye contact and keeping his head hidden.

Niku's eye caught motion in front of her, causing her to look up. She realized that the man for whom she'd bought lunch was waving at her, though his head was still completely hidden. For a moment, she wondered if the guy was a missing ninja cause he was so focused on hiding his identity. I mean, he's not hurting people, so even if he is wanted, I'm on vacation. she mused to herself as she waved back. She figured he was just thanking her for the lunch, there really was nothing else to assume from the friendly gesture. As the two waved at each other, the waiter arrived with her food.

"Here you are, miss," the man said as he placed the last plate on the table. "Anything else I can get for you?" The man didn't really have a smile on his face, it was more of a blank look. He figured his outburst about the thief had already caused him to lose any sort of tip he may have gotten from the teen sitting at the table. Niku nodded her head in the negative, as nothing else he could provide came to mind.

"No, thanks though." The man turned on his heel and headed to another table to assist them. Niku looked back to the behemoth in the corner as she lifted her spoon, shaking it towards him. It was her attempt at saying bon apetit before she put her own spoon to work, dumping soup into her mouth. Her mind moved on from the friendly stranger to the three genin who'd accompanied her to Tea Country. All three showed promise, she just had to figure out how to help each one. As her body continued partaking of the meal in front of her, her mind wandered to what she should do to help each of the students.

As she waved back, Crabman could feel weight slide off of his shoulders. A sign of recognition and respect. It was obvious, now. She had no intent to devour his delicious insides along with rice. His figure relaxed almost instantly, and his greeting wave of the hand became more friendly before he stopped it. If nothing else, he had avoided danger for the second time in one day. Who knew? If he became just a tiny bit better at hiding himself, perhaps he could live among the pale people. At least confidently enough for a life of journey, if a stable one was out of reach. He let every bit of air out of his lungs as he sighed in relief and amusedly shook his head. How silly of him to think he was about to be eaten. As he began to turn back to his own table, the woman's food arrived.

"BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR" What a fool he had been to drop his guard for one of the chitin-less freaks. She shook her spoon in his direction, what else could it have meant other than the primal desire to consume him and his kind? The sheer amount of sadism she exuded in her revelry of his anguish was proof enough of this. He stumbled backwards over his chair, legs kicking out. In his rushed retreat, he tried to hold on to the table for support, but this only brought the table down along with himself. Bowls shattered on the hard wooden floor as he slipped and scuttled back on his feet, his own weight betraying him still, until he noticed the extent of his ruckus.

Once more, all eyes were on him and his shenanigans. The sailor he'd spited in particular had an alert gaze to him. In a hurry, Crabman turned to leave before he felt his foot hit something heavy and semi-soft. The pouch of coins previously found on the ship had fallen with the familiar sound of metal clanging together. He reached down to grab it, dusting it off before quickly stomping towards the exit. Every step got him closer to the exit. With every breath he was further away from the woman and her sinister, hungry eyes. Eyes that drew his own and kept his stare in a lock as he made way. He could feel the sun begin to kiss his skin when something small but firm painfully poked into his chest.

"OI! Just a question, mate. Where did you get all of that coin you're dropping around? Can I take a look at it?" The sailor stood between him and the exit, a carving knife between himself and the crustacean, poking at the latter's chest with malice. His eyes were yellow on the sides from drink and his rotten teeth told the stories of twenty years at high-sea with nothing to eat but hard biscuits and fish. Despite his small stature, the crab felt himself shake. "I'll tell you what, if it looks anything like the one that got stolen from our ship this morning, you can have all the soup you want, because I'm going to throw you in it and fill my belly!"

With this, the sailor gave Crabman a harsh push to get his point across. He quickly recovered his balance, being more mentally shaken than anything else, but he'd forgotten to account for the hood which quickly dropped from his head. His eyes hung stupidly from his face, and his pincer-like mouth blew bubbles in astonishment. He had now been revealed to the restaurant, and only the Gods could tell what would come next.

Niku, lost in thought mentally and physically lost in the mundane action of feeding herself, didn't notice as the large stranger in the corner began to fall. But, like everyone else in the restaurant, eventually her gaze and attention were pulled to the behemoth in the corner again as he floundered to the floor, taking the table with him. She was somewhat embarrassed for the man as he seemed wanted to draw as little attention as possible, but somehow kept managing to draw a lot of attention to himself. That was her thought before the bag of metal hit the floor was a notoriously metallic noise. It was then she began to think that maybe she was helping a thief after all. He began to move to the door and Niku just watched, as did most of the patrons there, as he made his way to the door.

That's when a sailor got between the behemoth and the exit. Niku wondered how bright that man could be, going face to face with such a large man, but she then realized from his speech that he likely wasn't sober. Alcohol, Niku had heard, had a tendency to raise the courage of many a men. She stood, not wanting anyone to get hurt or start a fight in the middle of this fine restaurant, but the man then accused the giant of stealing the money from his ship. Niku realized this wasn't her place to step in, but spoke in a loud tone, without any malice in her voice "Hey! Take it outs..."

Her train of thought had been lost as the aggressive drunkard pushed the behemoth who barely moved; however, the giant's hood fell back revealing a noticeably inhuman head. Like many others in the restaurant, Niku audibly gasped. Even as a shinobi, Niku hadn't seen anything quite like it. Sure, she'd met Masami who was notably human but had a tail and dog ears... but that was nothing compared to this behemoth's head. The girl wasn't scare, per se, but she realized that they'd all been under the assumption that this was a human and now that assumption seemed notably incorrect. Before the drunkard could attack, Niku moved forward, between the two, "This isn't the place for this," she said, staring the drunkard down.

Her only other point of reference for human animal hybridry, Masami, had human level intelligence and could speak. But Niku realized this Crabman hadn't spoken yet so she had no idea whether he understood anything anyone had said. If he understood, she hoped seemingly defending him before this drunkard would at least keep him from attacking her, especially since she now stood with her back to him.

"What in high hell?!" The sailor stumbled back, knife still pointed at the crustacean. Gasps and faint expressions of incredulity and discomfort pontified the big reveal. Both patrons and staff moved in retreat, joining their backs to the walls. They sought as much distance as possible from the strange creature that eyed the restaurant, alarmed. The young woman's call to attention was quickly set aside in response to the recent event of a crab-human hybrid living, breathing, eating among them. While still visibly shakened, the sailor's eyes narrowed with focus. "I told you! I done told you! That's the thing I saw on ship, swear it on a trip's pay!"

Crabman's heart beat a mile a minute. His eyes nervously darted between the sailor, his friends and the rest of his audience. Swallowing in dry he took a pair of steps back, raising his arms in submission, trying to keep a healthy distance from his assailant's cold steel. His mind was foggy, clouded by fear and uncertainty and thus he couldn't seem to find his way out of his latest conundrum.

Suddenly, the girl was before him. With such control of her body, she had slid between him and the sailor without them noticing. Granted, there were things more distracting afoot, but it was a feat none-the-less. Her voice sprung out with a commanding tone. Despite her appearance, she demanded respect with more authority than most men Crabman had met. Hearing her words, he felt fear at the prospect of being dragged outside, yet relief at the fact that he wasn't alone. It was clear now that he had to make things right, and the only way he could think of doing so was by removing the problem entirely.

"BRRRRRRRRRRR..!" With a few waves of his hands that dismissed any former relationship he had had with the object and a couple bows of the head, he threw the coin purse at the ground in front of the sailor. He proceeded to repeatedly wave his arms from behind the Samurai, calling for a truce and offering as much of an apology as a crab-person was able to without vocal chords. He had hoped this would have been enough to persuade the sailor to bury his hatchet, but as the rest of the sailors regained their bearings and began to stood up, he realized this wasn't the case. As the sailor used his heel to kick the bag aside it became very clear that this wasn't about the money anymore. A mixture of aggression, fear and utter confusion painted these men's faces, and when man can't accept a reality he tries to reject it. Often with violence.

"S-Step away, girl! Who knows what it'll do to you!" The man's resolve had doubled as his shipmates spread out to encircle the Crabman and his friend, ready to reject the reality presented to them before understanding it. With fists, knives and plenty of liquid courage they began to close in. Crabman realized his attempts at a truce had failed and took a couple of steps back before the sailors could trap him in a circle. His eyes focused on the enemy that faced him, though a mirror on the wall opposite betrayed a sudden movement behind him.

A Crab and a Samurai [Closed]

Post by Servant » Sun May 03, 2020 3:00 pm

Niku wasn't sure why she was standing between this group of people and this oversized individual with a unique appearance. It was almost like her instincts kicked in and she moved without considering her options. She really had no horse in this race, she didn't care if this band of sailors beat this Crab thing to death. She didn't want to watch the man-crab die while she was eating lunch, per se, but putting herself in this position wasn't necessarily what she wanted either. When the pouch of coins were returned, Niku's tension left her a bit, she thought things would settle down and the sailors would be on their way. But it only took a moment to realize that that wasn't going to happen.

Their faces were filled with something more akin to fear and hatred than relief at getting their money back. On some level, she understood their feelings. This man-Crab was definitely not your normal, run of the mill person and those types of people could do anything, but that was inherently true of ALL people. There were some real normal dudes that liked to beat up on their own children. Like, being cruel wasn't a thing that was limited to people with unique appearances. As far as Niku could tell, this man-crab hadn't tried to hurt anyone and with his size, he would likely not have much trouble doing that. She didn't know if that would hold; people and creatures tended to fight when pushed into a corner as these people were now doing to him, whichever way this individual was more closely related was irrelevant. If cornered, the so-far nonviolent individual might become violent.

"Right now, it seems more likely one of you are going to do something to me," she retorted to the sailor. Her eyes followed some of the people as they fanned out around the kunoichi and the man-crab. As her eyes surveyed the area, she also noticed most of the people had moving out of the way, as if they knew something bad was about to happen. Some of them moved to the walled areas, some left altogether. "Listen, you've got your money, why don't you guys just leave before anyone gets hurt." She tried pleading with the sailors, not convinced there was any point in doing it. Her hands, like the man-crab's. were above her shoulders, trying to show that she didn't intend to fight if they backed off.

She turned her head to the side, so she could look at the creature behind her with a sideways glance. "You don't want to hurt anyone, right" Still unsure whether this thing could understand her. While her hands were above her shoulders, she was still prepared to defend herself if push came to shove.

A Crab and a Samurai [Closed]

Eyes flowing with different colours, hands to each side and an uneasy stillness in the present atmosphere, Crabman slowly nodded his head to each side, indicating a negative. The knot in his gut seemed to loosen somewhat at the prospect of having an ally in such a tight situation. At the same time, the rest of his body felt incredibly, almost nauseatingly tight. He could sense an aura of danger from everywhere in front of him and on his sides. His feet shifted nervously as he tried to find the best position to keep an eye on everyone from. Unfortunately, the first blow came from behind.

"DIE, DEMON!" The glint of the bottle on the mirror's surface was small, but just obvious enough that it alerted Crabman to the oncoming strike. Spinning on the ball of his feet, he moved just in time to lock arms with the restaurant owner. His face was contorted in blind hatred and deep terror. Unbeknownst to the crustacean, it was the face of a fisherman's son. A son that had missed his father when he didn't return from his travels, who had listened to far too many sailor's stories and who had seen the monsters drag him into the waves in his dreams more often than he cared to say. A son who had opened the very restaurant they were in with his father's travel insurance money, and one who was determined to get revenge, even if just symbollic.

"BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!" The bottle escaped the man's arms and cracked into a thousand tiny pieces as it fell. Crabman had a solid grip on the man, shrieking out to warn his new ally of unforeseen danger. He felt a piece of glass dig into his feet as he shuffled, holding the restaurant owner in place. It didn't hinder his movement much, but it stung like a bitch.

"NOW!" He heard the commotion start. The man's sudden attack had been like a match to gunpowder. The sailors moved to attack, three of them headed straight for Crabman, while four others still had Nikuya in the way. They appeared to hesitate for a second, giving her one last chance to change her mind.

"BRRRRRRRRRRR!" Crabman repeated his shriek, now in a more intimidating tone as he kept the vice grip on the owner's neck. With focus, he moved his eyes independently, granting him complete vision of his surroundings. He himself appeared to be giving the sailors a chance to back off, as he saw no escape route of his own. As the man's thrashes grew weaker and more distant, he knew he'd have to release him while he was asleep to avoid any real damage, as well as to free up his hands in case he needed them.

[King Crab's Fist • Clinch]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Putting the close in Close Quarters Combat, the Clinch is essential to any pugilist's arsenal. Using their arms to tie up an opponent's torso, shoulders or neck, and their own body's weight and center of balance to keep them in check, the user is able to restrain an enemy to their place if their strengths are equally matched, and able to move them around for better positioning if the user's Strength is 5 points above the enemy's.

[King Crab's Fist • Eyes on the Prize]
C-Rank Taijutsu Discipline
Utilizing both of their eyes independently, the user abuses their anatomy to gain an advantage. Given that their eyes are capable of depth perception and independent movement on their own, the user can not only use them to analyze and search for things, signs and people quickly, but they can also use this ability in battle to keep an eye on multiple opponents or attacks, never truly losing sight of an enemy.

[King Crab's Fist • Pincer Clutch]
C-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisites: [King Crab's Fist • Clinch]
After having caught their opponent in a Clinch, the user may then progress to a more dominant position. They will attempt to hook one of their arms around the opponent's head as well as their inside arm, positioning both as if they were side-to-side, but facing opposite directions. If their strengths are between 5 points of each other, this technique will simply hold the enemy in place. However, if the user's Strength is at least 5 points higher than the enemy's, they will incur a -1 to Endurance per post for a maximum of two posts as the nerves and blood vessels that supply oxygen to their brain are restricted. This can easily knock-out an opponent if the difference in strengths is too great.

Niku wasn't pleased with how this situation had turned out, but there was no going back now. Her attention turned to the attack on the man-crab. While her attention was there, the rest of her senses were still working at a level that most humans couldn't comprehend. She heard the scuff of every shoe and felt the air's movement as every individual moved in the little restaurant. The kunoichi was about to intercept the bottle but she felt the man-crab move to defend himself. That, however, was just the first step as a man yelled Now just moments later, causing the rest of the sailors to jump into action.

Even with her prodigious speed and advanced training, Niku wasn't confident in handling all seven of the attackers on her own which is why she was glad that her fellow attackee could at least move and intercept attacks on his own. In that split second, she noticed the four facing her hesitate and since she wanted to end this quickly, but without causing a bloodbath for Konoha to have to deal with, she rushed forward towards the man on her left, easily throwing a palm to his chest. The young lady had held back, only hitting with half strength, but still sending the man hurtling backwards, his arms and legs flailing as the momentum of his torso caused his appendages to trail behind. Without taking a moment, she altered course and rushed towards the second attacker, her speed being too fast for the sailors to keep up with her movements. She grabbed the back of his shirt and tugged, sending him through the air into the third sailor.

She stepped back towards the man-crab, between him and the last attacker. "Really think this is a good idea?" her tone was incredibly condescending, but she had just taken out three of the sailor's buddies in the blink of an eye, so not entirely unwarranted.

He had to thank his special senses for the fact he did not have glass embedded on his back. The hairs on his body could each give him a small awareness of what was around him in several ways, and his eyes could act independently. However, as good as this was for his self-preservation, it was also a long ways away from making him omniscient. If anything, it bothered and confused him more than it helped. Having lived under laboratory conditions most of his life, the outside world felt much more tainted by input and stimuli.

This is simply a long-winded way of saying he lost track of his surroundings in the commotion. As he dropped the unconscious body of the restaurant owner and moved to avoid a punch from one of his assailants, another managed to grip him from behind, holding his arms at his sides. Crabman could tell he was stronger than his opponent, but the position was too unfortunate for him to free himself quickly enough.

The third sailor ran towards him intent to end the fight with a chair to the head. Using his experience in close quarters situations, our crustacean friend managed to slip his head and arms lower just in time to avoid the attack. The wood splintered into a hundred little pieces as it crashed into the second sailor's skull, who tumbled backwards like a sack of potatoes.

More out of instinct and desperation than sense of opportunity, Crabman brought his arms up and rode the momentum to drive his right fist upwards into the aggressor's solar plexus with violence. The man doubled over with no sound other than the air escaping his lungs, falling to his knees completely unable to push forward in the fight.

With a quick look to his side, he saw the young woman had also made quick work of her own batch of offenders, with only one left to make a stand. Eyeing his own last opponent, who looked as if most of his courage had faded away, Crabman took the moment to thank her.

"Brrrrrrrrr..." He quietly uttered, bubbles escaping between his "lips" as he did so, never taking his eyes off of the last sailor on his side.

Intended to be used in conjunction with Clinch, but not exclusively, this technique is built to give the user options when the space to fight is almost non-existent. As they Clinch, the user is able to throw punches at their opponent's torso, ribs and organs included. It is meant to punish the enemy and cause them to stagger if their strengths are closely matched, but can easily be damaging if the difference in Strength is substantial.
