Lava Island, why not

Post by Ace Trainer » Mon Apr 13, 2020 6:18 pm

Shio walked slowly, he'd left his two new children at the "base" they were using, as a temporary home. It was a cove snuggled into the side of a ocean facing cliff, hard to notice, even harder to get to. The children would be safe there while Shio spent some time to himself to think about what he had started here. His small hands had slipped into the pockets of his pants, and he hummed a soft tune quietly as he walked, his eyes fixated on the sky above him, only partially paying attention to his surroundings. There was hardly anyone that could be considered a threat here, these indigenous people were rudimentary at best, primitive people with hardly any power contained among the lot of them. They were religious to a degree, so perhaps they would have someone of value among them. But after the Land of Fountains, Shio wasn't entirely convinced showing up as some sort of deity was the best plan going forward. If he converted too many places he might attract unnecessary attention.

The sun was behind him, setting in the distance, and the islands terrain seemed to be a mixed bag of lush flora growing happily from the natural fertilizer of lava, and burned and ravaged land that had been flowed through by the rivers of fire. Shio had never seen lava before, he understood it academically, but he had to admit part of his reason for coming here was that a volcano was a new concept to him. Call it curiosity. Kirigakure didn't have any volcanos, and given the nature of this island it was unlikely for Kirigakure ninja to be sent here. Another benefit of being here if he was honest. While he hadn't thought too much about it, Shio figured there would be people looking for him, especially his family. Though he didn't know it, he'd been branded a missing ninja. Shio was considering this an....extended vacation. He needed space from his people to figure himself out, and despite only 10, he was quickly realizing the philosophies he was raised on were troublesome. A break was certainly warranted.

Yoru’s Undercover AttireShow
The sound of wood cracking rung through the room, as Tanaka’s head was slammed into the table, his nose cracking against it, crimson liquid poured from his nose and tears streamed from his eyes “I told you! I can’t tell you!” he screamed out. Once again, his head was brought up and flung back against the hard-wooden table with twice as much force, darkness was all he saw as his consciousness slipped away, though it quickly came back as the room flashed back into his sight.

“Where is Hyuuga, Soujirou?” The question, didn’t have the inflection of a question, it was forced, venomous and eerie. Tanaka whimpered softly “I… I can’t-“ Tanaka’s head was swung back again “LAVA ISLAND!” he gasped out “Please, please just stop.” Tanaka was flung to the floor, landing in a heap on the floor.

Aizawa, Yoru the rouge shinobi from Konhagakure stood over him, dusted off his hands as though he didn’t like to get them dirty “That wasn’t so difficult was it? I guess I’ll be on my way.” Yoru turned on his heels and headed towards the door “Though, if he isn’t there I will come back.” Tanaka looked up fearful “Wait, he was there but-“ Yoru didn’t say anything, he simply exhaled “But he might of let, that’s where I sent him for his bounty, but he’s most likely completed it.”

“Perhaps I should just wait here? Until he returns.” Tanaka shook his head “He won’t be coming back here, not anytime soon. I paid him in advance.” Yoru quickly deciphered this was the truth, he doubted this man would lie to him again. Yoru sighed “That is a shame, I have no other leads I guess I shall be travelling to Lava Island, I’m sure there aren’t many Hyuuga wandering around there.” Yoru’s fingers grasped around the black straw hat resting on the table, placed it on his head and pulled it over his brow “Bye, bye, Tanaka.” With that Yoru was gone, Tanaka breathed a sigh of relief, he had escaped with his life. This time.

Some time later, Yoru was stepping off a boat the smell of sulphur slapped him in the face like Tankas head against the table. Though scents like this didn’t bother Yoru, he’d grown up on a farm after all. The heat however was almost unbearable, it didn’t have that he was wearing so many layers. He decided to take off his long green robe, his thin haori would keep him cool. His stomach started too growl, he turned his head to the attendant of the boat “Excuse me, is there anywhere nice to eat round here?” The man simply nodded and pointed forward, Yoru followed his finger and saw an Inn, perhaps the only one on Lava Island? It would make sense, it wasn’t an overly large place.

“Thank you.” Yoru pushed his hand into the pockets of his haori, pulling out a Ryo and handing it to the attendant. He walked up the volcanic island, it was quite an interesting landscape, something even Yoru hadn’t seen before and incredibly beautiful. He paused on the mound and simply took in the beauty.

Shio had traversed a great deal of distance, because he could see a shoreline in his peripheries, suggested his was approaching the opposite side of the island. He'd managed to navigate around any native peoples. No point in alerting those who might be territorial to his presence, especially with his two children hidden away. As he came around a path, he would notice the silhouette of a building through the foilage, and shrugged. Developed people were here too apparently? He didn't realize. Perhaps this would be an opportunity for him to learn more about the island....and if anyone of interest occupied it.

As he came onto the premise and around to it's front, however, he'd see another individual approaching. Shio's outfit hardly screamed shinobi, but it also didn't scream indigenous child, or likely even one that lived on an island like this with his family. Straightening his back, his eyes thinned, his hands fidgetting in his pockets. Even though he'd found that he enjoyed expressing his power and getting away from the silly tenants his people had taught him, Shio felt slightly uncomfortable talking, a tinge of guilt whenever he spoke. But, using a magical pen in this setting might be inappropriate.

Stopping in front of the building, Shio smiled softly, waiting to greet the man approaching. Two strangers approaching an inn at the same time was an invitation to drink together or something right? Shio was entirely confident in adult customs, he was just a child after all.

"Hi.", Shio said aloud. His chakra moved through the air with his voice, surging the air with natural energy as it did. Yoru would likely quickly notice the effects.

Lava Island, why not

Post by TheLacarix » Wed Apr 15, 2020 5:40 pm

His one good eye looked out onto the landscape, still taking it all in. It was breath taking, how could something so beautiful be so ferocious all in one fell swoop. Even as powerful as Yoru was, the volcano made him feel uneasy. Could it erupt right now? Set this whole island alight and take everyone out with it? It was, quite possible and yet the people of this island lived without fear. Though perhaps they lived in respect of the volcano, that seemed most likely. Either way, it didn’t matter and he was here, to gather information. It appeared as though this inn was most likely the only speck of the island that was touched by ‘civilisation’ most likely not taken kindly by the locals. Though this would help with Yoru’s investigation, he doubted the Hyuuga wouldn’t of travelled through here whilst on his contract, it seemed the best place to start.

Yoru’s thoughts were interrupted by a simple phrase, hi. never had two letters together been so loaded. It made him feel strange, almost as uneasy as looking at the volcano hearing this utterly simple greeting. Yoru turned his head, to meet the gaze of whoever spoke and yet nothing, his head lowered slightly and his gaze met the bright green eyes of the young boy who stood in front of him. This world was filled with exceptional children, Yoru was one himself, he mastered acid style when he was only twelve and acquired his second element, very rare for a child of that age, many adult shinobi struggle to master a second element, he went on missions much higher than his rank permitted, in a world of shinobi powerful children weren’t a rarity. However this was an exception, this child in front of him seemed dangerous. Not just a simple, overpowered Genin who had a few tricks up his sleeve. Could this truly be deducted just from a simple Hi?

“Hello.” Yoru responded cautiously, he was almost transfixed puzzled by this small boy “Aiz-“ he quickly composed himself, almost giving his real name “Hichuu, Daremo.” He introduced himself with a fake name. The man known as Aizawa, Yoru was not ready to be revealed to this world just yet and he intended to keep it that way for a while longer. He offered out his hand, completed covered in bandage for the young man to shake, whether he took it or not didn’t matter “Are you staying here?” he pointed to the inn, the moment he said it, he realised it was a stupid question. Why else would he be heading to this inn? Yoru took a slight breath, trying to compose himself, it wasn’t that he was afraid of the boy, but more intrigued by him, how could such a small boy be carrying such power? Yoru pushed his hands into his pocket “I’m in need of a friend while I’m here, come I’ll buy you a drink… what do you drink? A juice? Milk?” he chuckled softly, trying not to show that he was feeling uncomfortable.

Assuming the boy followed, Yoru would push back the curtain to the entrance of the Inn “After you.” Assuming the pair stepped in together Yoru instantly took his surroundings, a small bar that presumably doubled up as the reception a set of stairs to the left which would lead to the rooms upstairs, a few tables and chairs filled the rest of the room, there seemed to be a set of chairs that would of gone around a table, but it wasn’t there. Strange. Yoru would take note of that.

Lava Island, why not

Shio smiled at Yoru. Plenty of shinobi were strong, but Shio was a special case. He became immediately away Yoru was a shinobi, the way he presented himself was obvious, even if he was trying to hide it. The minor demeanor change in how he assessed Shio was all he needed to know it. He wondered, then, if Yoru would notice the slight relaxation slipping through his body as his body abosrbed nature chakra from Shio's abilities. He had found that even disciplined shinobi might not notice it if they weren't on guard.

Nodding, he replied, "Tea.", short. He walked in after Yoru's guidance, taking in the same observations. Without waiting to see if Yoru was following, Shio would walk across this small entry area and towards the back-most section of it, taking a small table for two. Crossing his legs he'd sit, "What brings you here, Darema?", he'd asked nicely. Incredibly polite for someone of his age and...stature. His eyes darted through the room from his new seat. Taking in the area. Yoru would likely notice...if he wasn't already doing the same. Shio was surprised to find a place like this on the island. Perhaps rich people from the larger cities in the great nations liked to come here for vacations? It was hard to understand like a place like this would even exist, or how for the matter. He felt confident the native people of the land weren't pleased with the presence. Maybe they had security as well.

The only person that was clearly a worker came from behind the front counter and approached their tables, asking what they'd like to drink, and Shio simply smiled at her as he did with Yoru, "Tea.", he would say. Almost immediately he'd see her shoulders drop just slightly, the slight euphoria filling her body as it did everyone else. She would turn to the other man, waiting for his order.
SpoilerShow
Shio’s chakra has a passive effect on the air around him, and when he releases it, causes the affected air to be highly absorbent of the naturally occurring energy of the world. The nature charged oxygen is then absorbed through the skin, mouth or nose, essentially inducing anyone who is breathing the air or present in it into a very minor form of Sage Mode. Because it is so minor, most do not realize they are in sage mode and instead say the state feels like a small burst of euphoria. This effect leaves the air charged with natural energy for 2 posts following exposure to his chakra. Those impacted have two effects occur for the entire duration they're in the area, and for 2 posts following the exit:
The euphoria caused by this state has a very acute neuromuscular effect that causes a -1 in Willpower. Any technique that counters neuromuscular effects, maintains heightened body control, or antidotes for neuromuscular toxins will counteract this.
The Euphoria also induces sensory in those affected. They are able to sense any beings with chakra within 30m of their bodies. Those without sensory techniques can not control this unrefined sensory and will simply be aware of where those they sense are with poor accuracy. Those with sensory techniques can control this as if it was a sensory technique, including turning it off.

Lava Island, why not

Post by TheLacarix » Fri Apr 17, 2020 5:40 pm

The moment’s feet pressed against the hardwood floor of the inn, he felt a rush of happiness swell over him. It had to be the beautiful surroundings around him, people often felt like this on holiday, right? Or least Yoru tried to convince himself that was the case. He walked turned walking over to the space where the table was ‘missing’ the young man known as Shio behind him.

Crouching down his ran his fingers across the floor, dust or the lack of it where a table had obviously been, a short stab of pain struck the very same finger, a splinter cut through his flesh, though only lightly. The finger was quickly placed into his mouth, sucking the wood out. What happened here? A splinter, dust, was the table broken? That seemed most likely. Perhaps the Hyuuga was here, maybe even got into a fight.

Shio spoke, though Yoru in his eutrophic state forgot his new found alias and didn’t realise for a moment “Oh..” he chuckled, then continued to chuckle much longer than he intended to “I’m here looking for Hyuuga, Soujirou.” His eyes widened as he said it, why would he reveal this information? He felt so relaxed, he had forgotten he was meant to be keeping this information a secret. If Konohagakure found out, it would bring an end to Yoru’s plans almost immediately.

This boy had to be doing something, a genjutsu? He hadn’t seen any hand seals or an aura while casting, was it something new? Not taking any risks, Yoru placed his hands together and attempted to release himself from the Genjutsu, by performing Kai. Nothing. He still felt the rush of happiness coming over him. Though now he had become aware of it, he was least perhaps, capable of restraining himself for now, if he was careful.

He slowly stood up, turning around and facing Shio “Would you mind forgetting I told you that?” he chuckled a nervous chuckle, which once again turned into real laughter. He could leave right now, get out of here. But he needed to collect this information, it was the whole point of him been here. Perhaps this child would play nice? If not, if Yoru saw a flinch of a hand seal or an ounce of chakra been channelled he’d be gone like a flash. Well perhaps not, he seemed to be enjoying himself.

As Shio made his order, Yoru followed “Beer-“ he quickly stopped himself, trying to control his emotions and drinking a beer would not help “Just water please and something to eat, bread, plain.” His eyes darted to the young boy, he sat down with him. The worker turned as though she was going to get their order “Who owns this place miss?” She turned and smiled at him “My-father-it’s-quite-a-fun-story-actually-he-got-stranded-here-and-was-found-by-locals-he-married-one-my-mother-to-be-exact-he-set-up-this-inn-said-it-felt-like-home-we-don’t-really-get-customers-often.” She spoke in one long winded breath as though it was the most exciting thing she’d ever heard. Yoru turned and looked at Shio, a smile spread across his face “This you huh?” he chuckled again, even louder this time. This kid was something special. Yoru just hoped he was friendly at least for now. He turned his attention back to the girl “Is your father around, I’d like to talk to him?” she nodded “I’ll get him for you, who is asking for him.” Yoru started to talk “Aiza-“ he paused, took a moment and took control “Daremo.” He said slowly, with precision. He couldn’t let this boy know his real name, not yet at least.

Shio smirked, Yoru's observational skills were not of a laymans, this man was definitely a shinobi. The naturally cautious and suspicious nature he approached everything with was something Shio had become accustomed to dealing with high ranking shinobi. This man was experienced at a minimum, experienced enough to be cautious. Yoru's slip of the tongue was caught, none the less, causing Shio to smirk even wider before regaining his composure, "I suppose", he responded at the notion of forgetting. Little was forgotten, but it was a gesture nonetheless. Shio didn't want to break into battle in this only place that was developed thus far.

Yoru seemed to have caught on to the effect Shio had on people, and the sly smile and laugh from Yoru assured him that Yoru didn't think he was a threat, at least right now. So he simply nodded, waiting for the two to finish their business before responding.

The girl sauntered off, humming under her breath as she did so. Shio looked "Daremo" directly in the eyes, "My voice has this effect, yes.", cards on the table. No point in hiding it, the shinobi opposite had already zeroed in as Shio on the source, what difference did details make. "I'm....gifted.", if Shio had established that Yoru was a shinobi, he had no doubt that Yoru had sorted out that Shio was. "I'm from Kirigakure. I'm here....exploring.", he was being honest, but no point in playing all his cards, his children would be kept a secret for now. "This is my first time being away from the village for so long. Its quite nice.", he said with a soft smile.

"You're not going to cause trouble, are you?", gesturing towards the girl behind the counter. She'd apparently delivered yoru's message, now the two of them were simply waiting for her father to show up. "I'm trying to avoid it right now.", he admitted.

Yoru’s eye’s narrowed, clocking as the young boy smirked, almost smugly at his own ability. Obviously very proud of the trait he had and what an interesting trait it had. There was something about this young boy who put Yoru on edge, the famed Ex Bannin of Konoha was noted as one of the most powerful shinobi in the world and yet, for some reason, this boy out of everyone put him on edge. His ability seemed an enigma, he hadn’t attacked but it seemed unlikely that this young man hadn’t merged it with his combat style.

This boy was travelling on his own? He knew Kirigakure was rough, but still? A little boy that appeared to be ten/twelve maximum? There seemed to be more to this story than the boy was letting on, but it didn’t matter. For now, Yoru had other things to attended to and didn’t need his worries to get in the way.

A feint chuckle escaped Yoru’s lips as the boy asked if he was going to cause trouble “No, no, least I hope not.” He scratched the back of his head and squinted his eyes as a smile ran across his face “I’m trying to avoid it too, so there is no need to worry.” He admitted.

A rather ‘Rubust’ man waddled forward, round framed and tanned, wearing a green top, black trousers and a white apron folded over. He looked rather grumpy, his brow narrowed as though annoyed that customers were asking to see him, perhaps expecting to be a complaint. As he moved closer, the narrowed brow disappeared and a smile fell across his face.

The boy thought Yoru, it seemed that he could be very useful. Strange his village wouldn’t keep him around, or perhaps that was the point? Perhaps he was doing something of interest.

“Hello Sir, are you and your son enjoying your stay?” Yoru snorted, Son? they looked nothing alike, but it was understandable, why else would a fully grown man be spending time with a little boy? Yoru decided not to correct him “Oh yes, me and my son are enjoying our stay.” Yoru’s hand edged to ruffle Shio’s hair, his hand hovered in place, just for a moment, before retreating deciding against it “I’m on an urgent mission from Konoha.” he lied, though his tone would suggest otherwise, it seemed very genuine and the man didn’t bat an eyelid “I’m searching for someone Hyuuga, Soujirou, I wondered if he’d been through here?” Yoru knew that the Hyuuga was here for a target and it seemed unlikely that he’d stay anywhere else, specially on such a remote island.

“Hyuuga? Those the one with the funny eyes right?” Yoru nodded “Nope, no funny eyed guys here.” Yoru stroked his chin, as though to be thinking, as though his thoughts were brand new, but he’d already deducted what had occurred or at least he had a hunch “Oh, really that is a shame. May I ask, why are you missing a table?”

The man shook his head “Missing a table? I don’t know what would give you that idea.” Yoru chuckled again at the mans response, a blatant lie “If your going to move a table and pretend it’s not being moved, perhaps remove the chairs as well? Besides theirs splinters everywhere, the table was broken right? The Hyuuga was here and found his target, they fought and went straight through the table.” The Man eye’s widened, revealing everything he needed to know “Where is he now?” The man shook his head “I don’t know, he left.”

“Is that another lie?” Asked Yoru, his eyes glinting with a hint of danger the man shook his head “I promise it’s not.” He pleaded “He isn’t here.” Yoru’s ‘dangerous’ eyes, slipped away, an aloof cheerful disposition across his face “Well that is a shame.” Yoru shrugged, as the young girl came back with the order for Yoru and his new found son. She brought over a large pot with tea two cups on, water and bread and placed them on the table “Going to pour a cup of tea for your Dad?a glint of a smile ran across his face, it seemed as though this day was about to get interesting.

Post by Ace Trainer » Thu May 07, 2020 8:18 pm

Yoru made it clear he wasn't looking for trouble, and Shio nodded thankfully at the notion. He had no doubt he could fight this man if it came down to it, Shio had faced strong opponents plenty in his life, the man before him was no different. He was more than prepared to battle if it came to it, but it was definitely not preferred. Not to mention, what if he lost? Daremo, Yoru, whatever he wanted to go by was certainly a strong shinobi, maybe Shio wouldn't be able to hold his own. That'd be problematic, considering he had two children even younger than himself hiding in a cave right now. Before anything else could be said, however, a man waddled forward, presumably the man Yoru had requested.

He listened to their interactions quietly, Son? how disrespectful. Shio was a prophet, hardly someone's child. There were people in another country that quite literally revered him a God and this stranger was just going to presume to be his father for some random nonsense? He contained his frustration, no point in starting a fight over this. Besides, what was a god without some humility, right? He cocked a brow at how deftly Yoru/Daremo navigated this man's deception. Yes, Yoru was very observant, picking up on small details. But the man persisted with his guise, causing Shio to shift in his seat uncomfortably. He could intervene, force the truth out of this man without so much as a drop of sweat.

"Is that answer sufficient, father", Shio asked, reaching for the tea pot. He poured for himself first, looking Yoru directly in the eyes as he did so, before pouring for Yoru. A notion of impoliteness that he wanted to make sure Yoru understood. Shio gained nothing from going along with this ruse, and he wanted to make sure Yoru knew that.

"Surely this man has more information for us. Its to help the great nation of Konoha after all.", his voice was cheery as he said this, turning his eyes back to the man then back to Yoru.

Of course, if the man told them more information now, Shio would have it. Would Yoru like that? He had claimed belonging to Konoha, was this true? Shio was hardly a fan of Konohagakure, many Kiri shinobi believed Konoha shinobi should be killed on sight, though Shio had already eliminated that as an option. What did he want with this Hyuuga? Would Shio need to report back to the village on this matter?

Yoru pursed his lips, squeezing them so tight they turned ever so slightly grey as he tried to hold back the laughter of the young boy calling him Father it was obviously of great annoyance to Shio, which was a great delight to Yoru. He could stop the ruse, but it was too fun, and he decided against it. Though behind theirs eyes, their seemed something slightly more sinister. Though this child had already stated he wasn’t looking for trouble, it put Yoru at ease that nothing would come to blows.

The young girl had gone back behind the bar and continued with her work, the man stood around, waiting pondering if their was anything else. “More information? He already promised us he wasn’t here, though I guess he could know where he was?” Yoru smiled at the man “Do you know where he is?” the man shook his head “Promise?” asked Yoru, “Promise.” Replied the man in quick concession.

“See, there we have it. He promised. He couldn’t possibly be lying right?”
A soft chuckle escaped Yoru’s lips as he feigned naivety “But fine, we’ll see.” Yoru obviously tapped his ear to Shio, making it clear that he’d need to cover them. Placing his hands together he weaved a sequence of hand seals, he felt a warm surge of chakra around his vocal chords “You are a man I can trust right?” The Man would fall under the Genjutsu almost instantly.

“Now, is the Hyuuga still here?” The man shook his head “No, he isn’t here.” Yoru’s eyes narrowed “Now, you promised me you didn’t know where he was. We’re you lying?” Instantly the man sighed and started to apologise “I’m sorry I don’t, he wasn’t really in the talking mood. After he threw that guy through my table he didn’t really stick around. He’s probably already left the island by now.”

Yoru shrugged, looking at Shio “See, you should never doubt your good old Papa. A promise is a very important thing.” Taking the tea that Shio had poured for him, he placed the cup to his lips and took a gentle sip, careful not to burn himself. It was apparent now to Yoru that this man had nothing to hide, fine his table had being broken but it was more likely he didn’t wish people to think he ran a rough establishment where MN came bounding in causing trouble.

Placing his hands together he realised the Genjutsu “Thank you, you can leave now.” Yoru said with a hint of coldness. The man turned on his heels and left without making a sound, obviously confused at what had just happened.

It seems as though I was too slow, it’s unlikely my target is still here. Though after we’ve finished our tea I’ll head out and explore. Just in case, plus it will be nice to see the sights. Perhaps you’d like to accompany me?” Pondered Yoru “I realise, I didn’t catch your name?” Yoru wondered if the boy would tell him his name, he’d already revealed his ability so what reason would he have to hide his name? I'm sure you don't want me to call you Son for the rest of our time together?" He said with a coy smile.

Shio watched the interaction unfold closely, Yoru seemed very confident in the man's honesty. He was surprised to realize that Yoru would also use genjutsu, he had found that genjutsu users were something of a rare breed in the world at large. Even though he had been trained as genjutsu user, he had always assumed they were a commonly used style. It was certainly made to seem that genjutsu was a real threat, but upon interacting with other shinobi he found genjutsu users to be uncommon. Making it even more surprising that not only was Yoru capable of using genjutsu, but he was capable of using it so subtly. Even if this man wasn't a shinobi he was clearly familiar with them, and yet Yoru was able to catch him in a genjutsu without a hitch.

The man was honest, and it appeared Yoru had gotten the information he wanted, so Shio simply nodded in understanding when prompted by Yoru as a part of the ruse. Resisting the urge to roll his eyes at Yoru playing up the role of father.

Yoru dismissed the man, and Shio watched him meander off. He waited until the man was a good distance away before re-entering the conversation with Yoru, his bright eyes fixated on Yoru.

"The sights of the island? Well, if you'd like. Not much but tribal folks and trees. But, its always nice to look.", he said with a shrug. Taking a sip of the tea, Shio would watch the man across from him over his glasses. "Its Shio, by the way. Born of house Mistaki, bled of the Family Kawazaiwa. Not that it means much to you outsiders. You're from Konoha?", his brow dropped. As he placed the cup back down the expression on his face was a mix of annoyance and indignation. He was clearly not happy to be in the presence of a leaf shinobi. Shio was Kiri, born and bled after all, and Konoha were...the worst.

"I took the forehead protector off to avoid advertising myself as a shinobi. Lucky for your little lie.", he smirked. "Kiri and Konoha shinobi rarely share a drink for a reason. ", he said, returning to a serious face.

"Fortunately for us, I've gotten a little lost from my entourage and decided to travel a little. So, I'm a little less Kiri shinobi, and more wandering disciple at the moment. So I suppose I'm not in a position to be making enemies out of friends. In this world, friends come from unlikely places.", he shrugged, his demeanor shifting to a more casual one as it had been previously.

Lava Island, why not

Shio became to divulge a variety of information to Yoru, the somewhat standoffish child seemed to suddenly have a softer demeanour his harsh eyes, much gentler than before. Though it quickly came back and then again soft and casual. Their seemed some kind of internal confusion in this boy, which was understandable. Yoru knew the difficult life a child could have, having gone through terrible suffering himself, though he knew how ruthless Kirkgakure was and what they did to their children. Despite Yoru not agreeing with their methods, their had to be something in it, look how powerful their shinobi were.

Shio it was good to put a name to the face, Yoru had no reason not to believe him and it seemed genuine. Yoru decided to come forth with his own truth.

Yoru’s foolish, care free demeanour slipped away, almost as though it was a persona, Yoru often played the oaf. It made it easy for him to infiltrate people and make them feel relaxed. Yoru pushed his hand into his green haori, pulling out his shinobi headband, placing it on the table, a scratch ripped through the Konoha symbol, there was no need to hide who he was anymore, it was unlikely this boy was heading back to Kirigakure anytime soon, though in all honesty it wouldn’t matter. Yoru was close to his goal and he wouldn’t need to hide anymore.

“As you have probably deducted am not Daremo, I am Aizawa, Yoru of the Leaf, or at least I was.” He admitted, he was a famed Bannin of Konoha and many people had heard of him, though Yoru doubted this young boy would of. “Though technically I’m not from Konoha, I was born in the fire country but near the border. I didn’t move there till much later in my life. Probably around your age." He shrugged as he spoke, picking up the tea and taking a sip, peering back on the boy’s green eyes through his glasses.

“Friends are difficult to come by, specially out in the real world. In Konoha it was so easy, someone to always watch your back. Here not so much more likely to have a knife put in it rather than someone watch it.” He pondered what this boy’s intentions were, was he really just travelling? Konoha certainly didn’t let their Genin just roam the country, specially without supervision. It suddenly dawned on him, this his suspicions were probably true. This child was someone exceptional and he certainly wasn’t a Genin. Perhaps Shio was as powerful as he was? Maybe even more so. Yoru found this incredibly intriguing.

Yoru offered forward the head plate, and Shio's eyes dropped to it, lingering on the scratched mark through the metal plate. A missing ninja. Shio hadn't interacted with them much. He'd been taught all his life a shinobi betraying his village was the ultimate offense for a shinobi. Defying their mission directives and leaving your village? They were considered scum. But, from Konoha, Shio couldn't help but feel a degree of brotherhood with Yoru. Did he have bad blood with his home village? That'd be great, perhaps this new friendship would work for the better.

This was also the first time it occurred to Shio that he too was perhaps considered missing. He hadn't actually betrayed the village in any capacity, he figured he'd be able to return without issue. But he had suddenly realized maybe it would be a problem? He pushed the thought to the back fo his head. Something he'd have to sort out later. It was a bit too late at this point. After all, he'd been through the Land of Fountains, gotten here, and was heading further west after this.

"Its not too hard to figure out when someone is lying, no, not when the Euphoria is in effect.", giving a name to the ability as well. What harm would come from Yoru knowing? Even if he sorted it out, its not like he'd be betraying secrets to a village. "Well its good to meet, Aizawa Yoru.", he said, taking his cup and drinking some more tea. The absence of him bowing his head would be a reminder of Shio's resistance to being subservient. Why would he?

Yoru's notion of friends was interesting. It was very true, the House of Chosen Children was being made for exactly this purpose. Having a space for younglings that were of a unique breed. They were the ones most often in need of friends, of someone to protect them, and hone their power. Shio was taking on that role, but it also meant he had no one. Especially if his village viewed him as a traitor. "Well, if you're strong enough, it only requires having one or two friends you can trust huh?", he shrugged at this notion. "Theres strength in numbers, but theres strength in strength, too.", this was something Shio had been told his whole life. He was a prophet, a divine being, having followers was important, but so was his power.

"Well, you don't have to worry about a knife from me.", he gave a soft smile, his boyish features coming out. Shio was still a child after all. In this brief time together, he'd decided he was somewhat fond of the man.

Yoru’s bandaged fingers wrapped around the headband, looking at the thick carved line etched through the Konoha symbol stamped upon the metal surface. Did betray his village or did his village betray him? He’d always being loyal and owed the village his life, but they tried to take his and took his eye. He didn’t owe them anything anymore, he slowly stuff the headband back into his green haori, for some reason he still kept it, clung to it almost? Strange. Though it didn’t matter for now, Yoru wasn’t on a journey of trying to ‘find himself’ he knew he was. Least he thought he did.

He paused and listened to every word Shio had to said, a young boy wise beyond his years but perhaps a slight naivety. Did he truly think that just strength alone was enough? Yoru had experienced the other side of hunting rouge ninja, powerful foes that were simply overwhelmed purely by numbers. Though perhaps with Shio’s ability that wasn’t really a problem? Euphoria An apt name for an interesting an ability, he wondered how deep its effects went.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you too, Shio.” Yoru smiled back at the young boy and for some reason started to trust him, was he being manipulated? Was it this very Europhoria that was making him feel this way? He could certainly reflect on it later when the ability wasn’t in effect. At least for now, he’d enjoy his tea and try to relax. Perhaps he’d gained an ally, he wouldn’t need to watch his back anymore. Yoru wrapped his fingers on the table and sighed softly “Once we take in the sights, I’ll have to head back to mainland I have a couple of things to deal with.” he admitted, it was unlikely he’d be able to get back on the trail of the Hyuuga, at least for now, he’d be long gone so there wasn’t too much rush.

Shio nodded understandingly at Yoru, mimicking his kindness to a degree. Yoru seemed friendly enough, and as a missing ninja, friends were in short supply. As they'd just discussed. Yoru gave Shio little reason to be concerned about the possibility of being attacked, so for now he would trust. He'd keep quiet about his children, no need to put their lives at risk. Especially two younglings as gifted as them. Yoru made it clear he was leaving soon, and Shio nodded, also agreeing here. Lava Island had been something of a dead end. His expectation had been that because the people here were isolated, he might be able to come across some abilities that had gone overlooked by the powers at work. But it seemed that, much like other places in the world, those with power born here were isolated and killed off rather quickly. None had occurred to Shio.

Unfortunately, he'd hitched a one way ride. He hadn't considered how he'd be leaving yet, but Yoru made an interesting option. Though that meant he'd have to present his children to the man. Maybe it'd be best to wait.

"I will be too. The Land of Tides, Shio no Kuni, coincidentally enough.", he offered the idea forward. "More people to meet.", Shio's understanding of the Land of Tides was that it was a war striken land, constantly in and out of conflict. A place in dire need of divine intervention. He'd also heard of a unique group of people that he'd want to get his hands on. A clan.

Shio No Kuni, however, was in the polar opposite direction of Kirigakure. He figured he'd spend some time in the southernmost points of the continent then head back around until he got to Iwagakure and could catch a ride to Kiri. It made the most sense. Considering he'd lost his entourage, he'd make the best use of this time that he could. Creating allies and landing grounds for Kirigakure in the south would be helpful for any future endeavors they had.

"But I'll be returning to my village soon enough. And perhaps back to the Land of Fountains. I have followers there now I have to tend to.". The entire country had been either slaughtered or converted to his following. Shio figured if he didn't make face often enough, those simple people might forget him sooner rather than later. He'd have to show up periodically, or send Kesu and Michi back to them as disciples.

Lava Island, why not

Post by TheLacarix » Wed May 13, 2020 7:00 am

Yoru pondered with interest as the pair shared their tea, what was this child’s motive? And what was Yoru’s motive? Was it simply two men, well a man and a boy searching for peace of mind, not be constantly moving with paranoia? Was it in fact two men seeing strength in one another and realising they could help each other grasp at power? That seemed more likely. Though in truth for Yoru, it was a mixture of both. No man lived without goals, if they did, they weren’t living a life and for a rouge shinobi allies were the most important thing and Yoru hoped that this boy could be an ally, at least for a while.

Yoru didn’t interrupt as the boy spoke, chuckling lightly at the boys joke that he and the land shared a namesake. Though it seemed more of a statement than a jest. It seemed that this boy has as many plans, if not more than Yoru. Moving from place to place, first Lava Island now the Land of Waves, curious, both rather remote places with low populations and this body had intentions of meeting people? The idea of followers peaked Yoru’s interest and gave him a glint of an idea.

“Perhaps Shio, there are others like us. Powerful wanderers who are deemed as a danger to the shinobi world and the constructs that they have created, if your gaining followers and meeting people, perhaps it would be apt if we do that together? A powerful unite of elite shinobi would be incredibly beneficial.” He shrugged as he said the idea, though in truth it appealed to Yoru, his life as a shinobi offered nothing but protection and peace among comrades. Now he had none of that “I think, if it interests you we should attend our meetings separately and reconvene at a later date."

He placed his hand up gently as though tell the boy to relax, that he wasn’t about to do anything dangerous, as he clasped his hands together and weave a sequence of hand seals, looking down at the charms on his bracelet and then back at the boy deciding a colour “Emerald green to match your eyes.” He said with a soft smile, his fingers tugged on the green charm and held it in his hands creating an exact duplicate. Placing it on the table, he slid it across to the boy “It may be difficult for us to find one another again, so I’d like to give you this. It will allow you and I to travel to one another in an instant, no matter the distance.” He wondered if the boy had much experience with Jikukan, it was a rather rare ability. Either way it didn’t matter, the cogs were in motion and hopefully the pair were forming a new relationship and a new organisation.

Lava Island, why not

Post by Ace Trainer » Thu May 14, 2020 2:10 am

Thought it wasn't known to either of them, Shio's thoughts mimicked Yoru's. While Yoru had made it known that he was in search of this hyuuga, his intention for the Hyuuga was unclear. He'd told the owner of the establishment that it was for Konoha, but given Yoru's status, that was evidently not the case. What were Yoru's goals? How did they align, or oppose, Shio's? If Yoru had any intention of rejoining Konoha, this would present a unique issue in both his awareness of Shio's existence, and of some semblence of Shio's plans. Not that Shio had them fully fleshed out either. He'd heard whispered from people in various places and was choosing to follow them, what all would it lead to, he didn't know. For now, the man before Shio was an ally.

Yoru raised the notion of others like us, the piqued Shio's attention? So they were a group now, or at least, two of the same kind? It seemed Yoru was coming to the same conclusions as Shio. The idea Yoru put forward was definitely interesting. In effect it was the same as the orphanage he was forming. Shio had recognized that strong children throughout this world were being foresaken by individuals that didn't understand their power. Something he was fortunate enough to escape by being born in a shinobi village. The point of the House of Chosen Children was to offer protection and hone the skills of others like him. Through their numbers, they'd be brought peace for likely the first time in their lives.

What Yoru was suggesting was akin to this. There were powerful shinobi throughout the world that were haunted by their demons and connections, and hunted. They were in dire need of support for each other. Shio quickly found himself nodding with Yoru, "Even among village shinobi. There are those who have reason to afford themselves an extra bit of caution.", he mused. This was a fact of reality. After a certain amount of power, at least in Kirigakure, the pedestal you were placed on also made you an easy target to hit.

"Together might be nice. Yes, that's an interesting proposal.", he nodded. Then Yoru performed some technique, presenting an emerald to Shio. Shio took the gem, sliding it into a pouch on his leg. Taking a final sip from the cup of tea, Shio pushed himself to his feet. "You wanted to take in the sights?", he asked.

He looked around the room, his eyes stopping on the ceiling as he looking absently above him.

"In a world that tries so often to define us by our sins, maybe it's best for us to recognize each others virtues.", he mused out loud.

Lava Island, why not

Post by TheLacarix » Thu May 14, 2020 4:55 pm

The pair sipped at their tea and Yoru finished off the plain bread he had ordered, it was surprisingly delicious, though he wish he’d have offered just a small nob of butter to accompany it. He’d pass some over to Shio, least in an offering of politeness. It was quite musing that the pair would literally ‘break bread’ together.

Yoru listened to the wise Shio, he was curious how a boy these young were so powerful and yet so wise. He had to be a natural genius, someone of his aged can’t have simply achieved this level of skill just by training, it took a life time for most shinobi to be considered S-Rank and this boy had reached that goal before he’d even reached his teenage years. Yoru couldn’t even imagine the power he’d have by the time he was an adult or perhaps he’d peaked already? Natural talent was after all hard to refine. He pondered back to his own childhood and how the young Yoru would have fared against Shio. Yoru at the time of his youth, was a top Genin of Konoha, defeated everyone opponent that was presented to him, trained incredibly hard and single handily carried his team through the Chuunin exams. Such a proud young shinobi. How powerful did he think he was back then? Shio would have crushed that boy in a matter of moments, perhaps even now the results would be the same. Though now it wouldn’t matter, they were hopefully forming a team and he needn’t worry about anything like that. Yoru needed to learn to trust Shio, there wasn’t any point of them forming a team if the trust wasn’t there.

It was apparent Shio had begun to trust Yoru or at least, gave the impression had had once he took the emerald charm. As long as either of them had it on their persons, they’d forever be connected being together in a matter of moments. The Rouge Shinobi was glad that Shio’s interest had being peaked at the idea of forming a group and suggested they take in the sights. Yoru waved over the waitress, pulling out a small pouch from the inside of his haori. Placing a few pieces of Ryo to cover their bill and a small tip for the waitress “Thank you.” Yoru muttered softly offering a warm smile, she gave a warm smile back and said “No thank you. I hope you and your son enjoy the rest of your holiday.” Yoru bit his lip, trying to hold back the laughter, glancing at Shio who likely was annoyed right now.

“Come on, your old Dad will need clambering up these volcanoes.” He chuckled again, as the pair got up together and began to live the inn. The start of something new a friendship starting and hopefully more would come to join them. Yoru turned to Shio, his tone a touch more serious “It’s often said it’s a death sentence for shinobi who abandon their villages.” He wondered how many other shinobi were struggling to survive right now, living in paranoia just for survival “Though perhaps with us, they’ll be able to wake from death and return to life.”
