Pincers of Enucleation

Yoru sat on the grass beneath a tree, which took the weight of his back and had his nose pressed into a book. A gentle breeze whipped through his long red hair and the noon sun cascaded down upon him. Soon the man if he even could be called a man would soon be arriving, or so Yoru hoped. They’d be beginning a venture that would benefit them both greatly.

By the side of him were a few bottles of beer and some freshly made sandwiches, egg and cress. He wasn’t sure what the Man would even eat, he didn’t really know the dietary needs of a crab, but he knew he liked to drink at least. His fingers wrapped around the sandwich as he took a small bite off at the corner and eagerly chewed, barely taking any attention away from his book.

Not many people were willing to associate with a creature such as himself even after a few encounters, much less propose a trip right off the bat. The red-haired ninja was not who he would classify as "many people", though. Small as he was when compared to himself and his Captain, Yoru held within him power that far surpassed that of his entire crew put together, as well as the song of sirens, capable of calming a whole bar filled with rowdy men with nothing but a few harmonic verses. Crabman had never seen anything of the sort and felt eager to see more of these living legends.

Step by step over the hard ground, he made his way to their rendezvous point. With a hood covering his own misshapen skull, he still had his head in the clouds. By far the strangest part of the whole ordeal was the Bannin's curiosity for his creator. While a world-renowned Iijutsu user to others, to himself he was simply the goofy, glasses-wearing man that enjoyed watching him play with his hybridized brothers and sisters.

Either way, it worked for him. Seeing "dad" wasn't a bad idea at all. All he had to do was provide all he knew about the man and Yoru would do the rest.

As he came closer and closer to the edge of the forest line where Yoru had instructed him to meet up, Crabman distracted himself by doing the closest to whistling that he was able to. Producing human-like sounds was still an extremely farfetched idea, but he could almost whistle like his shipmates. He tended to practice this as he performed his duties and chores, or even when he went on walks. This latter activity was particularly funny, as the natural sway to his walk paired with his attire and irregular whistling made most judge him as a drunken sailor before anything else.

Finally, he spotted a shade of the auburn hair he had been looking for.

"Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" Crabman greeted, stepping from inbetween the trees. For a moment he reached for his hood, but he then quickly changed his mind and kept it on. Unwanted attention was not what they were looking for.

As the large Crabman bounded over and called over to him, Yoru replied back “Brr-“ he paused for a moment, wondering why he’d responded in that way “brrr-right on time.” He tried to cover up his kerfuffle, he slowly dragged himself up from beneath the tree pushing off the ground to support his own weight.

He passed Crabman a bottle of beer and one of the perfectly cut egg and cress sandwiches “I wasn’t sure what you ate, but I know you drink beer at least. We might as well try and enjoy the journey.” The trip ahead of them would be a long one, he couldn’t use his Spacetime he’d never being to shark country before, and traveling was too exhausting.

Pulling out a straw hat, he gently placed it over his head to keep the high noon sun out of his eyes “We’ll walk for a while and we’ll rendezvous with a driver who’ll take us the most of the way by cart then we’ll take a ferry the rest of the way.” He slowly started to walk down the road, leading Crabman towards the rendezvous point.

Crabman didn't notice Yoru's sudden slip of the tongue, but nevertheless greeted him with a hearty chuckle and a friendly expression. It would never cease to amaze the crustacean how power seemed to come in such small packages. He wouldn't dare communicate this to Yoru, however. No matter how much he meant it as a compliment, the ginger wouldn't hesitate to take offense to it.

"Brrrrrrrrrrrrr.....~" He responded with a delighted tone as he received the beer and the sandwich. Used to a diet of fish and seaweed, he couldn't thank the heavens enough for such an appetizing snack. He allowed his duffel bag to rest simply on his shoulders as he sampled a bit of each. Bowing his head forth, he thanked him for the meal which he happily dug into.

As he followed Yoru to the rendezvous point, nodding his head in agreement, he focused on the sun. It was a good call, travelling in such conditions would get them sunburnt at worse and exhausted at best. Crabman promptly finished his sandwich, helping gulp it down with some of the beer. The drink refreshed his throat as it pushed the dry bread aside, helping to stave off the heat.

"Kukukukukukuku" He expressed his satisfaction, his free hand resting on his belly as they made their way. He was glad to be heading home, even in the sorry state that it had been left by the beast. Suddenly, he realized that it could still be lurking around the wreckage. He signalled to Yoru with his hands, rotating his two pointing fingers around one another, proceeding to then join his arms as if cradling a child and then pointing to himself. As he spoke of home, he proceeded to crash his fist into his free palm, and then spread both arms as if attempting to intimidate the man, hoping he would understand.

Yoru’s single eye followed the crabmans actions as he seemed to be trying to tell him a story or at least give him some information, though if Yoru was honest he didn’t have a clue what he was trying to say, ‘Baby, Crush? No that can’t be it.’ he thought, pondering what he was trying to say. Perhaps he was saying that his childhood home was dangerous? Possible, though Yoru still didn’t know. He could do with the pirate captain being here right now, he’d be able to translate. Either way, it didn’t matter Yoru simply replied with;

“Yes, good point. We’ll be careful when we arrive.” He assumed that would cover his basis.

The pair walked for a little longer, just as Yoru said a cart with a horse was waiting for them “Daremo?!” yelled the man towards Yoru, who nodded back in reply “That’s my pseudonym, it saves any hassle down the line.” He whispered to Crabman. The driver’s eyes looked suspiciously over crabman, but he was too polite to say anything as he gestured for them to get into the open top cart. Yoru scrambled up, he didn’t perform any flips or perform a freestanding jump, he wanted to bring as little attention to himself as possible.

He'd offer out his hand to crabman and assit him up onto the car, the pair would set be off and a step closer to Shark Country.
