The Three Wolves

Over a week had passed since Shinjiro had arrived in Iwagakure. He had taken the time to train with some of the villages shinobi and explore the village alongside Maido but there was no mistake that he had not been in the hidden stone village as a tourist. He was purposeful and with the exception of a few impulsive behaviors he had taken the time to prepare for the mission he had been assigned. His goal was to infiltrate Iron Country and reach their leader, assassinating him alongside an S-Rank MN and a Bannin level shinobi from his own village. Initially, Shinjiro had thought that infiltrating a palace and killing a Daimyo wouldn’t be particularly difficult for someone of his talents, however the more he researched Iron Country and its people the more he realized that this was in fact a daunting task. For one, they did not have a Daimyo, but rather a Taisho, their strongest and smartest Samurai, likely the most formidable non-shinobi in the world. Moreover, there was no palace or easy access, there was only one city in Iron Country and it was build like a fortress, a large military compound filled with expert swordsmen.

An aggressive approach was not an option and likewise tricking a man of such mental fortitude and military experience would be foolish to attempt for anything a 16-year-old could come up with. Still, the trio needed a way in and they needed to be able to at least incapacitate the man so Maido could take over his body. Infiltration and assassination were Shinjiro’s strengths, he was sure he would be able to get to the target, though identifying the man might be more difficult. He doubted they would make it obvious. He too had to consider how best to utilize Hyoryu’s skillset, the puppet user had impressive firepower but even he couldn’t stand up to an army of samurai, a distraction perhaps? But then they would be on guard, these were not the sort of people that a divide and conquer strategy would work against. Nothing they through at them would rattle their fortitude and composure. Stealth then, pure infiltration, avoid conflict at all costs but keep Hyoryu available for backup and diversion as an exit plan. That was the only feasible option.

Shinjiro had mused a few different stealth tactics, getting himself in was easy and Maido could store herself in him though she still had a core that had be manifested within his body when she entered him, meaning their was a restriction on how small he could go when hosting her. Still, there were ways around it, all it meant is they might have to subdue a guard. The young Jounin and Jinchuuriki of Kirigakure had been mulling over contingencies and the risks of the mission as he traveled across Earth Country, Maido storing herself inside him as he traveled in the form of a large black wolf. It was easier to brave the cold and traverse the terrain in such a form. After a few days the young man arrived at the meetup point, 10 miles from the border with Iron Country. The meetup location was a notable ridge, not nearly the highest point in the mountainous terrain but distinct enough in its long serpent-like curves and steep edges that went on for several miles before dipping into a ravine that could be followed closer to Iron country before needing to pass over one last mountain, though given the other countries similarly cold and mountainous terrain it would be nearly impossible to tell when they crossed over aside from some hidden guard posts on the side of Rock Country. That was what the map indicated anyway, though as he arrived at the first peak of the ridge, Shinjiro was only concerned with the arrival of the man known as Hyoryu. He wondered which form he would be in and if he was already there. It was difficult to tell exactly what time of day it was with the surrounding mountains, and heavily clouded sky, a strong wind whistling through the air as the large black wolf howled into the sky before transforming into his human form, wearing a thick brown cloak pulled up over his head, digging into his pouch he withdrew his Kirigakure headband and held it up, turning around slowly so that even if the man was a fair distance away he might be able to see it. They had been scheduled to meet on that day, he only assumed the puppet MN would be there already considering he had no need to eat or sleep and felt no discomfort from the cold.

The Three Wolves

The young man's assumption was indeed a correct one, due to having fully embraced his transition into that of a puppet body, the former Suna-nin had been able to transition himself mentally into a nigh full time of actions, but even to this point the man still found that he was lacking in the mental fortitude to operate without resting his mind. Perhaps that was something that would come in the future as he continued to adapt and evolve his remaining consciousness to full accept this new life of his and the body or perhaps it was best said bodies he used as his own. Ryu had arrived the day before, like a hunter he'd been consistently watching the meeting place from afar at this point, utilizing his spying eye to observe well beyond the normal detection range of others.

This was a mission that dealt with both the powerful entity that was the Rock village and objectives of the powerful undergrown organization he currently was employed by at the moment, their was truly little room if any for fucking this up. But his waiting appeared to be done now as a powerful black wolf had arrived in the distance before transforming into the form of a human. A faint smile appeared on the concealed lips of the hunter as he saw the agreed upon signal go out now and with soft steps the camouflaged figure in the form of a child, using his MK-3: Ghost body and its stealth options began to move from the distant position closer to Shinji. Their was no smell or sound from the movement of the small boy but not even he was able to eliminate the small imprints that the soft movements would make in the thick, snow covered ground of this area on the corner of Iwa's homeland.

Entering a range of about twenty meters the man pulled back the cloak that gave him nigh invisibility when moving appropriately, removing the hood and tossing the cloth draped around his shoulder onto his back now to reveal a youthful child. One that Shinji had met once before at a certain festival, one that Ryu had messed with the Kiri-nin a little for the amusement before leaving the crowded place. After all, a man like himself had definitely not felt comfortable in a situation with so many high profile targets from the Syndicate's target list around him. But now he'd reveal to the Kiri-nin that it was indeed him that day and not one of his subordinates as he had played it off back then. A half smile could be found on the child's seemingly alive face, not indications that it was a puppet to the naked eye. From his right hands which withdrew itself from a cargo pocket the head back with the proud symbol of the Sand village bore a deep gash through it was raised for the fellow shinobi to see.

A voice belonging to someone more so around the age of Shinji himself escaped the puppet's mouth, "It has been a while, I had not expected them to have allied with another village for this." It was true that Hyo had not expected to see this man here, having only dealt with the Iwa shinobi up unto this point in the missions involving the village and the Syndicate. This opened the eyes of the missing-nin to just how grand a scale that things were working on and why everything was being kept so secretive. But, it was not only these two that were suppose to go on this tasker, he'd been informed of another would be joining them and bringing the count to three. Even he was curious of just who was be coming as it was unlike his own org to not inform him, perhaps not even they knew or perhaps the person coming was not someone who's name should be mentioned even in encoded messages.

With the brief greeting and the agreed upon signal plan complete, the boy who was wrapped in thick winter like clothing stuff his hands back into each of the pants pockets, returning the headband into the cargo pocket, before closing the gap he had intentionally left earlier to one of only a handful of meters. Though the snow didn't both him physically anymore, it could still affect the delicate mechanisms that were concealed within this spy body and it was a necessity to ensure he didn't allow such a thing to happen. He wanted nothing more than to gather up their party and move out to the next check point. "We are waiting on one more, right?"
