Unnatural darkness befell the land. Where that had once been a small but bustling village in northern Waterfall Country now lay rubble and blood, broken bodies and discarded dreams. Long ago, three had fought in this place, driven by greed and the unquenchable desire for power. They had destroyed one another on their way to the cave that was nestled in a cliffside half a kilometer behind the long-abandoned village to the north. The cave itself began with a long tunnel, a path that was two hundred meters of sharp curves and a gradual decline that plunged any visitor far beneath the surface. It eventually opened into an large cavern four hundred meters in diameter but only one hundred meters high, and in the center was a dusty crown, left there for safe keeping. Even after the crown had been removed by a curious traveler, some force beyond human comprehension had returned the crown to its hideaway.

It was this crown that invited the power seekers, and the crown that invited destruction. One of the men had used some sort of technique that plunged the area around the cave into a two kilometer wide darkness. Visibility was three meters at best, should anyone dare approach.

Someone did dare. A young wanderer found their way to the area and stood just outside the darkened area. For the moment, the traveler seemed to be alone. All that needed to be done was to trek through the darkness and to the cave to claim the prize.

Split by the Fire and Earth Nations, The Land of Waterfalls was nestled in a perfect placement for her plans. She had gone on an individual reconissence mission in order to find the location she wanted and create a doorway. She did so by assuming the identity of an orphan refugee. However, once in the Land of Waterfall, she began to hear whispers in the shadows. Something was calling out to her.

Not normally driven by curiosity, the fact that someone had whispered inher mind suggested a powerful force at play. She should at least try to identify, if not eliminate, it. She traveled through the remanents of a village. Time and war had seemed to have wrecked havock on it. The whispers got louder as she went to the cliffside. Soon she found herself at the entrance to a cave.

Perfect, a dark dangerous cave hid what whispered in her mind. She might as well go in prepared. Releaseing her katanas from their seals, she holstered them in her sash with the edge downward. Wh knew how far down the rabbit hole she would need to descend, but best to start with one foot in front of the other.

In the small village within the waterfall country, Nobu was out an escort mission with his squad, lead by the notorious Bannin known as Awai, Fanho. Whilst relaxing on their way back home, the young Genin had overheard a group of men talking about a cave and in the depths a crown of unfathomable power. When he had the chance he snuck off and left his squad, he’d get back to them at some point but for now, the thought of capturing this crown was almost overwhelming.

As he approached the cave, he saw a young unaware girl slowly entering the cave, he began to flurry of wave of seals, he was unsure why she’d go so slow, but he had no intention of doing so, hurtling forward as fast as he could running at an almost blinding speed for a young genin. His entire body was covered in katon and would push past her, hopefully burning her as he went. The flames either way would light up the tunnel for the young Genin to gain a better sense, seeing it that there wasn’t anything he’d trip over. His finger tips ran across the wall leading him through the curved tunnel.

Once this coating is made contact with, flames will stick to the user chasing them down up to 10 metres, equal to the speed of the users control. This will last for 2 posts.

As Mate was walking down the dark tunnel she could not see within, there was suddenly a light coming up from behind her. She was unable to respond to the speed of this thing. St. Elmo's Fire just blazed right by her and left a decent burn mark on her side. Sighing, she placed her hand over the burn to test the severity. Don't go chasing whispers Mate. It never ends well. Probably why she was named "Wait."

It would not be logical to travel further down a cave with only a hostile fireball to light your path. And the Fushinkou were nothing but logical. Anger over a burn or curiosity shouldn't get the better of her. Turning around, she just left the cave sighing as she went back to figure out where she should set her waterfall door. It won't be around Fireball Cavern, that was for certain.

It was now up to the young female genin what she’d do, he couldn't hear her chasing after him. His fingers still dragging across the cave wall so he didn’t have to depend on his eyes, taking a curve and then another. He moved through the 200 metres of tunnel and into a large open space, in the darkness. He flipped down off the ceiling and on to the ground below, continuing to run as fast as he could, the flames covering his body glinting off the crown, giving him a good sense of where it was. He’d sprint forward wrap his fingers around it and placed it on his head with haste.

He’d then turn back on his heels and run the way he came, again running his fingers against the walls of the caves. He couldn’t hear anyone and he was confused, the crown hadn’t ‘done’ anything he was expecting it to give him untold powers, he’d have to take a look at it when he got home. He sprinted through the dark cave and was surprised to see the girl had gone. He bolted out of the cave and ran as fast as he could back to his sensei and the rest of his squad.
