[Weapon] Chest Piece

Post by Kao » Wed Jul 01, 2020 2:26 am

The island of Teuri, located several kilometers east of Fire Country, had seen its share of thieves. The frozen land was home to the crumbling fortress of a treasure hunter that had been dead centuries. His name had long ago been lost; all that was left of the man was the cracked stone of a circular tower and castle walls that had been eaten away by sea salt and time. The seemingly abandoned castle was a memorial to an era long past: empty, forlorn, and forgotten.

In truth, the castle had become the headquarters of a small gang of pillagers with a penchant for raiding coastal villages. Some of them likened themselves to treasure hunters, which made the castle a perfect base of operations. In their quest to become the greatest pirates since the nameless owner they had come across a truly valuable treasure: a chest piece from an ancient armor. The thieves had stored the item in an underground cavern beneath the tower along with their other treasures: gold, sapphires, and the like. They had argued fiercely about the treasure's rightful owner, and their desire became their death. Their bodies littered the tower, splattering its walls with blood.

The scene of carnage would turn away most, but a lone adventurer pushed forward. Unlike the final thief who had collapsed just before entering the cavern, our hero found a way inside. It laid in the middle of the room atop a stone table, ready to be taken.

[Weapon] Chest Piece

Post by Taiga » Mon Jul 13, 2020 1:03 am

Taiga had stowed away upon a ship heading out of Fire Country, having assimilated himself comfortably into the bow of the ship to take a nap the whole journey. Not really sure of where he was going, he was more or less looking for an adventure. Eventually the boat came to port and movement stopped, the lull of water against the bow calming as it lowered, signifying to Taiga he was here. Phasing out and onto the deck, leaping to the port with a graceful skip, he smiled as the sailors unloading the sip merely looked with complete confusion. Just as quickly as he had exited, he had gone into the ground and disappeared, phasing through the Earth. One of the sailors dropped the crate of bananas he was carrying, mouth open wide, only to be slapped in the back of the head moments later by his commanding officer.

After a long while Taiga found something of interest... as he continued to surf through the ground until something odd nearly called to him. He felt stuff all over the ground- like bags of potatoes- and something with a strange eminence and power that called to him. He felt a very heavy point in the room- but also noted nothing even remotely nearby living or moving on the ground. It was all clear.

Noting the oddity of the heavy point in the middle of the room he flew up rapidly through the ground, poking his eyes around for a second to see blood everywhere- dead guys, and then an ornate chest piece with glowy shit on it. Wasting not even a second to think about the item more, he grabbed it and pulled it underground with him barreling deep down.

Whatever he had found looked cool, and he guessed he'd take it back with him to the next island. Putting on the chest piece he would note nothing special yet and surf through the ground rapidly back towards the ship- and when it took off he would get on and sail home, happily ever after.
SpoilerShow
Phantom Sensory
C-Rank Discipline Taijutsu
Through training Taiga has gained the ability when merged with something to feel the things one would feel on their own back or body: points of pressure, force, and temperature through the object. This is like a second-nature for him. An example of usage being feeling vibrations to a point where based on the weight and distribution of pressure, he could differentiate a dog from a human on a surface. Taiga can spread his sense of touch (feel) through a variety of objects or surfaces when merged. The range of this technique is limited to the size of the object or surface he has merged with. Damage to a surface will not cause damage to Taiga as the sensations are not 1:1.

[Contact Assimilation]
B-Rank Stance Taijutsu
After making contact with an eligible piece of solid matter and making contact with another party or item, Taiga will utilize his Genma abilities to assimilate himself and the target, for as long as contact is maintained. After assimilation, both parties will be able to "phase through" or "merge through" objects matching the materials he has assimilated. Breaking contact at anytime will cancel this effect and cause the other party to be "ejected" out of the object they are in unharmed. This technique must be used with a discipline for the appropriate material he is merging with.

[Earths]
D-Rank Discipline Taijutsu
Through training Taiga has gained the knowledge and discipline to assimilate himself with Earthen substances such as stone, clay, or dirt.
