Aimi began to gather his chakra, as much of it as he dared, an orange glow covering his body. He took in a deep breath through the nose and let it out through his mouth. He breathed, he channeled katon chakra, he visualized what it was he wanted to do; what he wanted to create. This would be katon jutsu on a scale that he had never even heard of before much less performed. This jutsu, if it worked out as he planned, would be the sum total of his life's work with katon ninjutsu. It would be the peak of what he, or any other ninja for that matter, could possibly perform with the basic element of fire. Of this he had no doubt and he thought this doubtless thought while he breathed. The wind below and his hair flew around wildly. The sand below him shifted and changed.
He would gather and condense his chakra within his body for as long as he dared to. He wanted it to be perfect, it needed to be immense, hot, hotter than he had ever dared to make a fire before. As he breathed and channeled his chakra he could feel his inner body temperature rising. He took his time, knowing that in the future he would not need this much time to perform this jutsu. He stopped only when it felt like he was going to start burning from the inside out if he didn't release this chakra soon! Then, once he had gathered his chakra, once he felt he was ready, he took in a final deep breath and as he exhaled he spat out a tiny condensed ball of flame.
The fireball moved extremely fast, almost as fast as what Aimi himself could move, thus there was little time for him to take in its' features. By his estimation later when he meditated on this act it was about the size of a fist and burned brightly as if it were a star. His aim had been downwards and so down it flew through the air crackling and sizzling as it went. It left behind it a visible trail of distorted air from the sheer heat it was giving off. Further and further it traveled away from him as try as he might to keep his sharp eyes on it the brightness of the flame and the daylight made keeping a direct eye on it difficult without squinting. It traveled roughly 80 meters he would later determine and then - there was a flash! Brilliant and horrible, the flash signified the oncoming explosion of fire as the fist-sized ball of flame he had spat out rapidly expanded outwards in all directions! The rush of heat and the blast of wind was powerful enough to send the Kaguya flipping backwards in the air beyond his control! A wave of heat overtook his entire body and it felt as if his skin was burning even from that far of a distance!
It took some doing to right himself back in the air. His wings flapped and he tried to restore his balance as quickly as possible. Once he had managed it he looked back and saw what true terror he was capable of. There before him, far enough away that he had not been caught in the blast but close enough to see in glorious detail, was a mushroom cloud of fire encased within a spherical wall of flame. The flames were quick to dissipate in reality but that initial image was forever burned into the Kaguya's mind. For a moment time stood still as he stared in wonderment at what he had wrought. A thought crossed his mind, simple and pure: 'I did this?'
When the initial fire had cleared and all that was left on the ground below was burning sand Aimi flew forward to investigate. Looking down at the sand below he saw clearly that it was no longer sand. The flames he had created had been of such heat that they melted the sane, turning it for now into a molten mass of what would eventually become glass. He tried to take in a breath in shock but found that there was no air to breath! His throat closed as sheer heat from the flames rushed down his gullet and he coughed, turning back and flying away until he was outside of where the blast had occurred and he could breathe again. Gasping for air he would turn his head back over his shoulder and look back at the ruined dunes of molten glass. A few sparse fires still burned within the blast zone but most of what burned was around the edges were the fires still spread. He thought, 'If this is what this fire does to sand... what would it do to water? To wood? To flesh?' He considered each of these in turn and quickly came to the logical conclusion that it would treat all things equally as fire was want to do: Water would turn to steam, wood and flesh to ash. He was certain as he looked out at this massive example of wanton destruction that not even the earth would be spared from this fire...
This was what katon ninjutsu was capable of. This was what Aimi could do with katon ninjutsu. The bannin looked out on his works and marveled at what could be achieved with it. He doubted even the Mizukage was capable of such barren destruction, which begged the question: What else could he do?

The epitome of katon ninjutsu, an expression of fire so pure and so righteous that it can only be described as holy. The user channels katon chakra and breaths in deeply as they do, inhaling through the nose and exhaling out of the mouth, gathering heat within their body. When the user is ready they spit out the gathered chakra in the form of a tight, brightly burning fireball and moves with [Speed] and impacts with [Strength] equal to the users’ [Control]. This tightly condensed fireball is no larger than a baseball when it leaves the users’ mouth. This fireball travels until it collides with something or until it has reached a range of 80 meters, at which point it will rapidly implode upon itself before expanding outwards in an explosion that covers an 80 meter radius in all directions that has [Strength] equal to the users’ [Control]. So hot are these flames that they have a transformation effect on whatever matter they touch. Earth and sand are turned to glass, water and ice evaporate into steam, plants and flesh are turned to ash, metal is melted, even the air itself is burned away leaving a breathless void in its’ wake that lasts for 1 post before air from outside the blast radius is able to fill in the space. These transformations are beyond the users’ control and happen regardless of the users’ will, nor are they able to effect the temperature of the flames once it has left their body. In order for these effects to take place on opposing ninjutsu (suiton, doton, kouton, etc.) the [Strength] of this jutsu must be greater than or equal to the [Strength] of the opponents’ jutsu. The user must be careful not to get caught within the blast radius of this jutsu or else they will be will be affected by it as well.
