[Legends] The Conquest of the Land of Dungeons

After his defeat and rejection in the land of Plains and Sea, Aimi Kaguya flew north to the larger, more mysterious land that neighbored it: the land of Dungeons. Flying over the country, he saw from above that it was of varied climates - with very few people living there and seemingly even less than an organized military. What few samurai he could see from scouting were often in pairs and wandered the roads. What few buildings or structures were but abandoned entrances to dungeons.

Seeing an easy chance to gain forces the bannin descended on the land and made short work of it, moving from one place to the next, one people to the next, and making them a simple offer. He told them of the war that was beginning to rage in the east and how it would spread, and he offered his services and protection. He would defend this land and teach those who wished to learn the way of chakra and shinobi, in return they would follow him.

Many were hesitant and unwilling to believe in his words. Some, like the samurai, outright refused and demanded he go. Aimi Kaguya was persistent, though, challenging the claims of those who said they could defend themselves and openly fighting with samurai on the roads. He cut down many who raised a blade against him and declared that their weakness and complacency were to blame.

"There are those far crueler than I in this world who would seek to take advantage of such weakness," he warned. "I offer strength and protection for all those who would follow me! Who will join by my side?"

It took time and the reassurances of many that he would not destroy the mysterious dungeons that littered the land forgotten by time, many duels and many conversations with the local samurai clans, but over time Aimi Kaguya began to have a following. Some followed out of belief for his words of war and strength, others out of fear that he would simply kill those who did not follow him, others on the promises of protection. Over the months his following and influence grew and he formed a militant group of samurai and peasants who took to his cause in defense of their homeland. Together, with the help of the samurai clan leaders who sided with him, for those who did not were cut down, Aimi Kaguya united the peoples of Dungeon under a single banner with a simple promise; he would protect them to the best of his abilities from the horrors of war and preserve their culture and history. They need only to follow and learn from him and he would see them through the coming hardships.

Before leaving the land in search of more strength and followers, Aimi passed on the basics of chakra to those who wished to learn and told them that when this war was over he would found a village to the south where they could come and learn, study and grow in the same shinobi arts as himself. With this gift and promise given, Aimi Kaguya departed the land of Dungeons with a select few samurai and headed further north in order to gain more troops, and more power.
