[Legends] The Defense of Dungeon and Further Expansion North

Post by Golnax » Fri Jan 22, 2021 7:20 pm

After subjugating the peoples of Dungeon and bending them to his cause, Aimi Kaguya went further north with a small army for further conquest, targeting a small swathe of land with little people living there and fewer samurai. An easy and quick mark that could take no longer than a month or two - or so he had thought. His campaign would be hampered, however, but the unexpected invasion of Wind and Sunagakure!

Word did not reach Aimi Kaguya at first of the attack on his newly conquered country. The samurai and ninja of the desert came from the easy swiftly, entering the domain of Dungeon and quickly showing their superior numbers and skill. Despite these superiorities, Dungeon was a large country and would take time to move from place to place, biome to biome, and take control of each settlement. Without a central government or even a centralia of tribal discussion, the forces of Wind and Sunagakure had no choice but to go from place to place, perhaps somewhat cautiously because of the hazardous dungeons of the land, fighting what few forces Aimi Kaguya had left behind that could utilize both samurai training and chakra.

Seeing the threat that faced their country and all that foreign bannin had promised, a messenger was sent north to track him down. Catching up to the Kaguya mid conquest, the messenger told him of the plight that their land faced and begged him to return in order to protect his newly conquered people and uphold the promise he had made them. Vexed by this situation and knowing full well the danger that Wind and Sunagakure could pose, Aimi Kaguya took a day to think on what should be done.

When dawn broke the next day, Aimi took flight and headed east, soaring high above the clouds as fast as he could manage, pushing his body's capabilities in flight so as to contact a friend he did not expect to see again so soon. A friend who he had helped to conquer a land all their own just before the outbreak of this Great War. Aimi Kaguya sought out the help of the Titan, Hide, and his daughter Katsu.

Within hours he had made it to their land, Rivers and Streams, exhausted but present. He quickly found the beastia family and told them of his plight, begging them to help him throw off the small forces of Wind and Sunagakure. Hide was at first hesitant to do so, knowing almost as well as Aimi that these were samurai and shinobi of one of the largest and most powerful countries in the world. To defy them would be no small matter.

However, despite the Titans' initial hesitation, Aimi Kaguya was able to convince him with the promise of further help to him, his people, and his cause later on down the road. He wanted the Titans' help not to decimate the forces of Sunagakure or Wind but simply to push them out of of his borders, if only temporarily. He would figure out how to deal with any future advances on his own, but as half of his armies were miles away to the north, he needed the might of Katsu and Kori to help him now or else he would lose the foothold he had just created for himself.

Assured of only a defensive position, Hide would agree and set off with Aimi Kaguya and a small band of warriors, moving swiftly but not so swiftly as Aimi had been to reach them. It took nearly two weeks to safely and quietly cross from country to country and make it back to the borders of Dungeon with Hide, Kori, Katsu, Arsa and Anori along with a small band of Hides' personally trained warriors.

When they did arrive, though, they took the forces of Wind and Sunagakure by surprise! Rallying the samurai and users of chakra that remained in the country, with the help of Aimi Kaguya and Katsu as well as the rest, the group was able to route back the enemy and drive them to retreat, forcing them to return from whence they came after a brief, but bloody, confrontation. Before leaving entirely, however, a samurai declared that they would be back and would more swiftly take Dungeon from these monsters!

With their enemies routed, Aimi Kaguya thanked Katsu and the rest of her family for their assistance, knowing that this would not be the last that they saw of each other, or of the enemy to the East. The group parted ways shortly after, returning to their homeland so that they may defend it and continue to grow while Aimi returned to the north to finish the conquest he had started. Within four months, he had made the people to the north bow to his will.

Now with even greater forces at his disposal than he had before and knowing that the warriors of the desert would be upon him again, Aimi Kaguya had a choice to make. It was not easy, but as they days dragged on and news of the sands stirring came to his ears once more, the growing conqueror knew what needed to be done. To preserve his newly found peoples and the promises he had made to them, there would be sacrifices.
