[Legends] The Founding of Kusagakure

Aimi Kaguya quickly discovered that founding a village was not as easy as it seemed. It was more than just finding a plot of land and settling there, but finding workers who were willing to build, materials to build from, plans and structure was all necessary and more for making a village. More than this though was the organization of military power, individual wants and needs, distribution of governmental powers and so, so much more. It was honestly over whelming for the rogue ninja at first who had spent his entire life sheltered within the various borders of Kirigakure or wandering around aimlessly before this war. Needless to say, he was in over his head and for three days he refused to see anyone until he had organized what he needed to do in his mind.

When he did, he returned to his forces and approached the former Ezhuahuacatl, seeking their wisdom in the matter. As the former ruler of an entire country made up of tribes who were constantly raiding neighboring lands, their insight on how to manage massive amounts of warriors would prove invaluable and they quickly took up the position of advisor for the bannin. They advised that he should take care of some of his problems simultaneously when it came to founding this military village of his.

With the former Ezhuahuacatl's help, Aimi picked out a plot of land not far from Ulvengrad that would work as a temporary base of operations. He divvied up his army into groups with natives to the former Plains and Sea acting as leaders who would show the samurai and soldiers how to make thatch buildings out of the tall grasses that made up the vast majority of their newly conquered lands. Some were thus put to work making walls and roofs while others gathered other materials from all over, chopping down trees for wood and branches, gathering materials from the coasts and making bricks from mud. The work was ultimately slow but they were far displaced from the rest of the world. The warriors could use a break, Aimi concurred with his new advisor.

That did not mean that he would leave them entirely to their own devices. When tensions grew high and he was near, Aimi would personally intervene. If there was one thing that this group of samurai, soldiers and warriors could agree upon it was the strength of their leader, Aimi Kaguya. Between him and his advisor they were able to keep the men in line. The Kinoko clan members who had survived the assault on Ulvengrad assisted in supplying food, medical aide, and structural support to buildings. With Aimis' guidance the village that would serve as their military headquarters came along relatively quickly and was an approximation of the ninja villages he had been to in his life - that is to say for a village largely constructed of grass and fungi it was very orderly if but simple and rudimentary.

In a measly two months, the village was erected with quarters for soldiers, the beginnings of roads from constant tread of feet, a main hut for military meetings, sick bays and other essential fixtures; perhaps most notably of all, though, was the makeshift amphitheater that was constructed. A combination stage, class room and dueling ground, it served as a place for Aimi Kaguya, his Ezhuahuacatl advisor, the former Morimoto samurai generals and the Kinoko elders to teach and train their soldiers further. It is in this place that Aimi would begin to more thoroughly teach his soldiers the nature and usage of chakra, taking time to explain more basic concepts and help individuals learn as one might do at a shinobi academy. Through these places, with these people, the army of Gold Country, lead by Aimi Kaguya, better took shape.

As did the plans of the former Kirigakure bannin. As the village was erected and his troops made to train together and work better with the various cultures, styles and knowledges that comprised this fighting force, he was reminded of days long since past from before the war, from before his promotion and freedom that came with it. He recalled his enjoyment in teaching and made a decision, dedicating a course of action for his life to take from that moment onwards. To achieve this dream though, he would need more influence, more land, more soldiers, more citizens to draw from.

And the village that would serve as the hub for his military activities would need a name. That name?

Kusagakure.
