Hoshi no Kuni. Heaven’s Landing. phpBB [video] In the Center of Hoshi no Kuni lied the second largest crater in the meteor scarred country. It was the life blood of Hoshi no Kuni, and roads from all five countries that surrounded the country passed through this place. It was called Heaven’s Landing, a proverbial paradise in comparison to the harsh jungles and meteor scoured landscape that made up the horizon of Hoshi no Kuni. This location and the resources of dinosaur skin and star rock has made the people of Heaven’s Landing incredibly wealthy. Where it lacked in military it more than made up for in economic potential. It only made sense that the Kintsugi would be interested in such a land - as it lacked at present, a shinobi presence.

Heaven’s Landing looked like a blend of Cultures and time periods. It had many of the modern conveniences of the modern shinobi villages, including electricity, and yet had an architecture that consisted of buildings of sun baked adobe bricks and others made of after the feudal fashion that the shinobi of the major countries favored. As a result, the cityscape was a strange mishmash were East met a a south west. Heaven’s Landing also favored terraced temples and had a great causeway that followed where the five roads entered the city to where they met in the center. All the while shooting stars flew through the sky and evaporated into clouds of dust - only occasionally turning into a meteor that plummeted to the ground.

Hanako from the small town of Hanamura had been in Heaven’s Landing for several months. After escaping the land of lightning with Chiaki and Shinjiro she had been left here and had been on assignment to scout the area of Hoshi no Kuni. As a result, Hanako’s Inn room had become a conspiracy of maps depicting locations and political boundaries in Hoshi no Kuni that she had been working on. It was big work for such a small girl.

She was well on her way to her 14th birthday, but was still yet small and thin, standing only four feet seven inches tall and weighing in at about 70 lbs. She had long dark hair worn long and a Kumogakure headband on her forehead. She also wore a rather plain, yet pink Yukata which had obviously seen some wear over the last month. Not only was it covered in grime, there were cuts at a few places where her blood had died the pink to deep red. This was also true for the from of her Yukata which had red all the way down to the sash.

She looked like something out of Halloween town, and that was in part that Hanako did not care what she looked like - but she had as a result become the talk of Heaven’s Landing. The girl who wore the pink Yukata that was soaked in her own blood.

She had survived on odd jobs and eating out of the garbage, and occasionally on stranger’s kindness. Some of the people had come to take pity on the girl and had stepped in to offer her a free meal every now and then. She was, after all, a very sweet girl. She had honestly worked and paid for her inn room, however.

The inn she was staying at was a Kumogakure tower styled building with a clay tiled roof like an old Wajo Castle. The bottom layer of the inn, monikered “Tower of God”, was a restaurant that was open all hours of the day. This place was relatively close to the meeting of all roads and thus was a rather active locations for travelers. It would not be unusual to meet fellow travelers at such a place, and it would not be strange to see the girl who the local patrons had taken to calling “the zombie girl” walking across the restaurant floor with a bottle of sake, a bottle of milk, and a bowl full of rice, fish with dried tomatos and a strong helping of of roast beef all in one hand.

“There she is. The zombie girl.” Whispered a patron to his compatriots. “You think she’ll want to eat my brains?” They began to cackle and laugh at their joke, and the mood of the tavern seemed lighter for it. Ultimately Hanako did not care.

She carefully set the bowl and the bottles down on the table before taking a seat herself. She drank directly from the bottle before pulling back her sleeve and revealing the mess she had made of her left hand. It was covered in bandages and with a wrist brace made of two sticks. The girl gripped took a larger stick and placed it between her teeth as she began to remove the brace and undo the bandages that wrapped her hand.

It became painfully obvious that without the brace and the bandages that her hand had been mangled. The way the flesh moved indicated that the rigid structure provided by her bones was fractured in multiple places to such a degree that her fingers and hand moved about in odd ways that one should not be able to move without turning their body into silicon or perhaps even water.

Hanako’s teeth dug deep into the stick, as she laid her hand carefully on the table and went about the delicate work of moving her hand back into position so that it somewhat resembled the hand that it was supposed to look like in the first place even if it was swollen. There was an occasion sickening crunch as she placed joints back to where they belonged.

Tears streamed down her eyes as she worked in silence, and it was indeed silent as the whole restaurant had fallen quiet as they watched in grim abject horror as the equivalent of a child was now performing open surgery on her own hand in the middle of a restaurant. She pulled out a kunai and had cut open her hand and removed slivers of bone which she placed on a napkin, and then once she was satisfied she sealed the incision up after applying the sterlization technique with chakra thread. Afterwards she took another strong swig of sake and frowned as she wasn’t fond of the flavor, but the strange buzz it was making her feel helped her deal with the pain.

Hanako did know the numbing jutsu as well, but she couldn’t afford to number herself and loose her dexterity, so she had carefully selected this self medication process with the tools and supplies she had- which was basically nothing because she was broke and had no tools as a result of abandoning kumogakure.

“For Kami’s sake I’m trying to eat here.” complained one Jousuke Fujoka, the son of the local Doctor that Hanako had become friends with during her stay here. Hanako, recognizing the voice had stopped what she was doing and looked towards the voice. She cheerfully waved her hello before returning back to her work, and the young Fujoka gave a half hearted wave back as confusion began to plaster across his face.

Hanako looked back to her hand to continue the operation, but found her tears of pain were now obscuring her vision. She gripped her blood stained yukata and dabbed her eyes with a clean part of the material to remove the salt stinging them. Then she focused her chakra and began to coat the broken pieces that she had connected together by hand and now was encouraging them to grow and to repair themselves. As she worked, she would occasionally take breaks to drink the milk and eat some of the food from her bowl to replenish the nutrients she was spending on the healing process.

Her meticulous attention to detail had managed to see her hand restored. She wiped the sweat from her brow and tested her formerly broken hand. Her dexterity had mostly returned, she noticed just one problem - there was an odd stiffness to her wrist like it was locked. Hanako made a confused expression with the stick in her mouth as she examined it, and felt the wrist with her fingers. It had healed wrong. She made a mistake. With a sick crunch she promptly broke her wrist and started over with fixing it using the *[Iijutsu • Bone Regeneration Technique]

1400/1350

Learned :

*[Iijutsu • Bone Regeneration Technique]
B-Ranked Ninjutsu
Although simple to explain, the *[Iijutsu • Bone Regeneration Technique] requires both skill and patience in order to mend the fractured or broken bones of patients. After focusing chakra into the hands, the user will begin to channel it through the area of the break or fracture. As this chakra makes contact with the bone, it will stimulate the calcium production of the body and begin to mend the bone. To mend small-to-medium breaks, it takes one (1) post of concentration, while fractures are usually very quick to mend. Multiple breaks can be mended during the use of this technique as it lasts for a total of five (5) posts or until canceled. Users should beware that, like other regenerations of this kind, the nutrient stores of the patient's body are being depleted during its use, and too many uses of this technique in a short span of time can cause serious damage.

Nozomi was currently in the land of star’s training with the other daggers of the seven swordsman Hoping to get stronger she was currently in a big crater, near a lake, eating a small dinosaur. Since she was a walking talking virus she didn’t need to worry about cooking her food. After she finished eating she would begin to train making sure to keep a eye out for any threats usually most things didn’t want to eat her because of what she was. The things that did want to eat her she could escape by diving into the lake. Though the more she thought about maybe one of the other daggers could want her dead just to show off.

So she couldn’t let her guard down, she would continue to train for awhile doing laps around the large lake as well as working on her chakra control. After she had finished her daily training routine down here she would climb up a big tree going all the way to the top. When she finally reaches there she would start to look around the area to see if she can find anything or anyone that is interesting. She was wondering if anyone outside of kiri would come here also?

So what was Chiaki doing one might ask? She was, at the moment, running away, full tilt, from some raptors. Raptors, you might say, are flying animals and therefore would be more of ambush predators, and therefore if Chiaki wanted to get away from them she should have dug, or perhaps put up a wall or something and blocked the birds’ view.

These, however, more resembled the ostrich, except that they had talons, and razor sharp fangs, and claws to grip meat with. These were true predators, and Chiaki felt herself the hapless victim in their latest sport, ‘let’s try to chew the walking bubble-gum.’ They had already taken a bite out of her arm before she knew it, and not averse to the taste of silicone, go figure, they had decided to try to use her for both sport and blowing bubbles.

This, you may say, is a cute personification for the sweaty panicky mess that was running and stumbling through the thick vegetation with five raptors on her tail. She ducked to avoid a snap at her neck, which would have at least immobilized her and swung up a branch. The raptors, however, weren’t limited to terrestrial jaunts and could leap as well as she. She sped through the trees, ambulating for a couple steps before she saw the wall and the city that they were staying in. She rolled her eyes with relief and let out a sigh, just as the pain receptors, which she had given herself, told her that she had another chunk taken out of her, this time out of her side. The rapor, with its reptilian avian face, looked rather proud of itself as it started to chew loudly on the silicon in its mouth.

Disgusting.

She wove some hand seals and jumped as another sped beneath her, tripping over itself and went careening over a small three foot bluff that she had just reached. Time to get to the air.

She slammed her fist down on the ground and a pillar of megallium erupted beneath her feet, sending her, quite effectively over the cliff, out of the crater and over the wall of the crater's outer rim.

It was another couple hours running before she launched herself into the air again, preferring a stylish landing to just walking through the gates of Hoshi no Kuni like a common plebian. After all, she was no longer the small wall-flower Chiaki, she was now the large and in charge missing ninja Chiaki.

She had just enough time to weave another set of hand seals and come crashing down in the middle of the town square in quite the spectacle, forming a beautiful lotus around herself and emerging from it like a goddess of old, channelling chakra into her silicone body so that it reformed to make sure she didn't look like walking swiss cheese, and brushing herself off so that the dirt slid off of her silicone skin, she headed for the tavern that Hanako had been staying at.

She wondered, again, what had brought them to such a dinosaur infested, lively, and alien place.

Hanako was just finishing up with her wrist when she felt a spike of chakra in her Chakra sensing jutsu.

”Chiaki!” She said to herself. She stood immediately and took a step towards the door when she immediately detected another. She hadn’t been actively trying to scan things out but now that she was she couldn’t help but come to detect Nozomi’s chakra as well. The unfamiliar signature was powerful enough for her to differentiate it from the average citizens, although it wasn’t nearly as well developed as Chiaki’s there was still something that could be said about how a ninja trained their chakra coils. This development gave the chakra a hard edge, and an expanded pool beyond what the average person had. She had been scouting out Heaven’s Landing on behalf of Kintsugi, but it had been mostly an uneventful task that involved studying a lot of civilian politics.

”There is someone else besides Chiaki and myself here. They could be an enemy. I should go investigate - but I also want to see Chiaki. I should check on her first. There is safety in numbers after all. ”

Hanako burst out of the Inn and made a bee line directly for the Silicon woman and made for a tackle hug.

”Sensei!” It didn’t matter how they walked different paths, Hanako Chiaki would always and would ever be a mentor, even if she was predisposition for jutsu that Chiaki wasn’t. ”I’ve been scouting this place for shinobi and such and there haven’t been any - until now, and I don’t mean you - I mean that there is a shinobi that I’m sensing near the edge of the crater. We need to go investigate.”

As she spoke she pointed in the direction of the signature and began to pull on Chiaki’s hand in that direction.

Nozomi would see a metal pillar with a strange woman on it rise up high into the sky and head out of the crater. She wondered what she was doing here in the first place but in the end didn’t care enough to worry to much about it. So she continued looking around but didn’t see anyone else nearby. She climbed down from the tree, as she came down she saw a group of retreating raptors looking for food.

She didn’t want to deal with them for now so she left them alone and waited in the tree until they were far enough away. Once she was sure they were gone she would head back down and start to look for the other daggers. Being on the look out for anything that looked dangerous as well as keeping a eye out for anything that seemed interesting.

She didn’t really need to eat except to heal even if she sometimes enjoyed Eating. It was also still afternoon it wasn’t even the evening yet so she didn’t need to sleep. So she was having trouble figuring out what to do, she was just told to survive and that’s it. She tried thinking of different ways to train but with a artificial body it was tricky.

These were perilous times. Once more tensions were rising between the great nations. There had only been a few years of peace since the war and already it seemed likely there would be further conflicts. Shinjiro had returned to Kirigakure for a few weeks after spending some time at each of Kintsugi’s growing outposts. Scouts had reported an army, complete with airships encroaching on Water country territory, land that was formerly Tea Country. And so too had he been informed that Earth Country was mobilizing forces on Wind Countries vassal states. Ordinarily, Shinjiro would be the first and last line of defense for Kirigakure. But something had changed in him, it was a feeling he couldn’t quite shake. Being back home for the birth of his daughter; Karagata Kiyome had given him a reason to live beyond his duty. And the girl’s mother, Karugata Asami, was someone he believed he loved. In comparison some land that had only been Water country for a handful of years seemed a pointless and trivial waste of his time to defend. At least that was how he rationalized it, the truth was he realized his own mortality, that the Grand Shogun was likely someone not even he could defeat.

But he had more obligations than Asami and Kiyome, more family. His other girlfriend Toukai Chiaki had also claimed a child, one of his own blood from his time in Star country before the war. He had allowed her to carry the honor of the Karagata name as well and even inducted her into the Seven Swordsmen as a Dagger. She had been left behind in Ancients Rest to test her, while most of the other members of the Swordsmen had returned home in preparation for War. There was also the matter of his Kintsugi family and the new recruit he had left in Heavens Landing for similar reasons. There was no telling how long he would be around for, and both Kirigakure and his family would be required to find their own strength instead of relying on him. There were still those who insisted that Shinjiro was the only shinobi in the village fit to take on the mantle of Mizukage. But unless he could muster the courage to face Fuhen and find the strength to kill that man then Shinjiro could never claim such a position.

It was moments like these that he considered simply conquering some isolated nation of his own and bringing any that he cared about with him, similar to what Shio had done. But his honor and pride as a Karagata would never allow him to betray his village. Instead, he would continue to foster strength in those that relied on him. He was particularly curious about which had grown more; Nozomi or Hanako. In some ways the two were alike and each were talented in their own ways. Perhaps they would make good rivals. It was with this thought that he ventured into Ancients Rest. After about an hour he had picked up on Nozomi’s trail and promptly tracked her down. Residue of her particular strands of poisons were especially helpful in discerning skirmishes she had taken place in. It seemed she was likely still alive at least, though he was confident in her ability to survive. No child of his would be killed so easily, especially one that inherited unique traits from both himself and Chisaki.

Swiftly landing behind the girl he would easily sneak up on her undetected and block whatever surprised attack she might attempt. It would only take a moment before she recognized him anyway. He would assess her without speaking a word at first. She seemed healthy, alert, just as at home in these lands as other predators. That was to be expected. “You’ve done well. Come with me, there’s someone I’d like you to meet” he stated firmly. Looking to the horizon he noticed the metal pillar ascending out of the edge of the massive crater. It seemed likely Chiaki’s doing, he hadn’t been certain that she remained in the area but it didn’t surprise him that she wouldn’t stray too far from Hanako for long. This was quite fortuitous indeed. Perhaps Chiaki would have teachings to offer Nozomi as well, though he worried she would be too soft and not an influence he would want around for too long. Assuming Nozomi did as instructed he would lead her out of the lands of the dinosaurs and out toward the mountainous city of Heaven’s landing.

As soon as they crested the ridge, they could see the mountain in the distance. Large black bat wings would sprout from his back as he scooped the girl up. Perhaps the only time he ever held the girl was carrying her in such a way as he flew. Shinjiro would suppress his chakra as he neared the capital city of Hoshi no Kuni. There was no telling if there were sensory shinobi visiting the metropolis and it would be best to keep a low profile. Slipping passed guard towers and other patrols he would land within a secluded area of the city and promptly retract his wings. From there they would each walk on foot, perhaps a little ragged looking but not too out of the ordinary. He would gather their headbands and markings of the seven swordsmen and keep them tucked out of view for the moment. Approaching the inn, Shinjiro expected Hanako to be similarly obedient and keep to her orders and likewise find her own ways to survive. Both the city and the wilds had their own challenges and obstacles to overcome. But whether or not their environments had molded the pair of kunoichi into finer weapons remained to be seen.

Nozomi was currently hunting. Raptors for practice her new sword drawn. when suddenly she sensed a presence behind her and quickly started channeling chakra to her head. While she turned around to swing the sword at the potential threat. But just as the jutsu was about to go off she realizes who it was and stops the jutsu. She then respectfully takes a knee as she waits to see what he wants. She would feel a nice warm sensation filling her body as she hears the compliment.

Afterwards she would hear the order and immediately comply saying “understood.” She would then follow her father, until they were out of the crater she would the watch as he would then pick her up and carry her. It was definitely nice surprise though she figured it was only because it was the simplest way to achieve the desired results after all her wings in her true form weren’t strong enough to fly yet.

On top of that his speed drastically out Paced her own. so she just enjoyed this unique experience while she could figuring it was extremely unlikely to happen again. When they landed she immediately absorbed her kiri head band into her body to store for later. Along with any seven swords man or other identifiable markings, she would then follow him to a hotel. Once inside she would wait to see who he wanted her to meet.

Chiaki, caught completely unawares by her pupil and thus literally blindsighted, found herself soon off her feet and on the ground. Well that was certainly something, wasn't she stronger than Hanako? She stared up at her smaller pupil and ruffled Hanako's hair a bit.

"Hanako-chan, I may be made out of rubber, but I don't bounce. Well, at least most if me doesnt." She looked at her own chest and gave a smirk, "what have you been up to while I was away?" She raised an eyebrow and got up off the ground, wiping off her clothing and shrugging, it wasn't like it was pristine before.

"We were supposed to meet someone here right? Am I late?" She would wrap a conspiratorial and friendly arm around her disciple and look about, wondering if indeed she had come to the right town. Nine times out of ten Chiaki was in the wrong place at the wrong time, case in point was when she stumbled upon the puppeteer and almost died to lava. What a lovely day.

Shaking her head she would allow Hanako to lead her to the meeting place, and would enjoy the local architecture. From what she remembered, this was where they would meet someone new, a "dagger" whatever that was.

Oh well, best to just let the day take her where it will, couldn't be worse than the raptors.

”Sorry. I fixed my hand that got chomped by a dinosaur earlier.” She gave a brief apology before immediately she lifted her hand and demonstrated the chakra stitching that was now keeping her hand together in a rather gruesome yet proud display. ”Many of the bones were broken into splinters so I had to remove the slivers and then regenerate the bones.” She said matter of factly. She was planning on trying out the more advanced healing technique on her hand to finish the job. As it was now, her hand was swollen as a result of the surgery that she had done to herself. Hanako didn’t truly concern herself with her reputation in Heaven’s Landing as being a Zombie girl on account of all the surgeries and wounds she had bound up on herself, typically out in the public in random places. It hadn’t been easy finding clean spaces to work when she had essentially zero resources outside of what she had been able to gather herself.

As Chiaki would examine her, she would no doubt find that Hanako’s Kimono which was formerly a bright pink had dulled under the dirt and grime that had accumulated, and the material had worn thin under the stress the girl had placed it under during her activities here. It was plain, despite how she was dressed before that there was now some missing aspect to Hanako’s life that had been present in Kumogakure, but not here in the land of stars. Hanako was taking care of herself only as far as it related to being able to function, and she was ignoring basic things like hygiene, and the upkeep of her clothes. Hanako was also somewhat…Unique, but it seemed that this was one of her deficiencies - when it came to being a human Hanako dressed the part and acted the part, but mentally she wasn’t up to speed.

It was the great irony that she associated with so many who escaped the limits of their flesh and were free of mind, but Hanako wasn’t a prisoner of her own flesh as they were but she was very much a prisoner of her own mind, as another Hanako who had the words that needed to be said lived just behind her eyes and for some reason she had never been able to free that girl or even warn anyone that this Hanako needed help.

”I didn’t realize that there was going to be so many people. Maybe that's who I’m sensing coming closer? ” Hanako placed her hands together and swapped through a number of handseals to help her mold her chakra. The intent was to get a much clearer picture than she usually did with the basic and almost passive sensory that she was already using. She needed more chakra and more quality both to pull this technique off.

Concentrating was typically hard for Hanako who was so used to multitasking. The fact of the matter was that focusing on a single was not only boring, but distracting in a strange way. It made her want to focus on other things the more she tried to focus on a singular task - and yet to perform a Broad Sense she needed the focus. The first Surrender was when she closed her eyes. The input from sight could be distracting and she couldn’t help but think about everything she had seen including wondering what Chiaki had meant we she said that only parts of her didn’t bounce - she had been looking over the woman subconsciously and now that her eyes closed this distraction was gone.

More chakra. Her range began to broaden and the images became much clearer as well. She ignored most of the people in Heaven’s Landing who didn’t have any type of chakra development. She lingered her senses only on Chiaki enough to get a feel for the development that one’s chakra system went through. She was like a bottomless spring, but the small details were there. You could almost feel them - and it made her so unique. This was a chakra signature. It was really her first time identifying one to such a degree.

”I could probably recognize Chiaki just by chakra alone. I can feel the chakra, the way its used to manipulate her body. I can sense… ” Hanako’s words weren’t much of a distraction to her, but she felt Chiaki’s core similar to how she had Kiari in their spar as time passed. She recognized that quality of chakra that seemed to move and writhe about - she had insects inside of her just like Kiari. In the battle with Kiari it had been hard to use the sensory technique properly due to all the insects with their minute chakra flying about - but Hanako couldn’t help but think of how she thought she felt the insects' chakra become such a blur and mass together with Kiaris. Together and yet individual. They continued to move and that is what was happening here. It felt the same.

Hanako was tempted to stop here, but she managed to remember the point of this exercise. With her now expanded control and chakra quality she reached out to the shinobi approaching. They went to the place that Hanako had been staying at. It only made sense since they were supposed to meet right? Hanako noted how similar the chakra of this stranger was to Chiakis. It was unique to be sure, but there was one thing that seemed similar between the two.

”This way Sensei.” Hanako dropped her concentration and led Chiaki back through town to the inn she was staying at with a determined purpose.

Hanako returned to the Inn, to which some of the patrons groaned at her return, but she paid them no mind as she approached Nozomi, whose chakra she had detected before. Nozomi may have been hiding her headband, but her quality of chakra, her manner, and her dress gave her away as a kunoichi. Hanako had made no attempt to hide her own.

”Hello. Chiaki-Sensei said that we were supposed to be meeting her. Please take care of me.” Hanako gave a polite bow that was much more ladylike than was matching her current appearance - with a blood and dirt speckled pink kimono, greasy unwashed hair.

”So this is the person whose chakra I felt. She looks like she is older than me. Should I call her Senpai?” Hanako was saying all this to herself out loud, oblivious that other people can hear the thoughts she was thinking out loud.

This jutsu is an extension of [Beyond Senses].After initiating this jutsu with handseals, a sensor can focus on individual chakra signatures to get a precise idea of where their opponents are at up to 25 meters. A general sense of the direction and number of chakra sources can be determined at up to 75 meters away. It should be noted that this jutsu requires intense concentration, often making the user shut their eyes so they can focus on the jutsu solely. Even with high levels of Chakra Control, this jutsu can be mentally taxing as it requires the user to sort through the individual chakra sources in the sensor’s range.

As his powerful wings cut through the air, propelling himself and the girl silently toward heir destination, Shinjiro considered Nozomi’s potential. She possessed his immunity to poison, as well as Chisaki’s DNA, after she had ‘adopted’ the girl and merged her unique traits with hers. She was an immortal now and could be crafted into a fine weapon for Kirigakure and the swordsmen. And yet it seemed the Toukai mutation was stronger in her than her Karagata blood. She had neglected her taijutsu and physical training. Perhaps he should have given her over to his family for their own brand of training after all, he supposed there was still time. But first he would ensure she didn’t make a mockery of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist. She would require a sword, only then could she truly grow into the kenjutsu master she was destined to be. Like the rest of their family she would be expected to excel in assassination. He knew just the style that would suit her.

Wordlessly they walked through the busy streets, Shinjiro’s eyes took in everything, assessing every individual and determining their relative strength and training. Many were capable combatants compared to an average citizen. He recalled to that in this place there were those who practiced a unique form of blood related ninjutsu. It wasn’t quite Chiton, but their healing rituals were quite impressive. Years ago, Heaven’s Landing had hosted an International tournament. One that Kirigakure had dominated in, the Mizukage at time; Kasai, claiming victory in the Ninjutsu bracket and Shinjiro dominating the Taijutsu portion. Three other world leaders as well as Maido had participated and lost. And now, most of those that had competed were dead. He wondered if these lands would ever host such an event again and if he would live to see it.

His own mortality continued to weigh on him as he contemplated the missive he had received shortly before coming here. The rest of the swordsmen were on their way back home to defend their lands. Only he remained, but ensuring Nozomi was on a path to greatness and out of harms way would have to come first. Inhaling subtly he suddenly caught Hanako’s scent trail as they neared the hotel. She had been here recently and spent a lot of time in the area. For a moment he considered sending Nozomi to track her down, perhaps even ambush her to test each of their combat readiness and growth. But before long he caught Chiaki’s fresh and light scent accompanying the rather grimy and unkept odour that clung to Hanako. With Chiaki at her side any attempt at testing the young warriors in training would be easily thwarted. A pity, he was quite curious whose ward was developing faster.

The pair of nukenin of Kumogakure entered, looking quite the juxtaposition. Hanako reminded him of the orphans back in Kirigakure’s slums, and Chiaki had the look of a noble woman of the inner ring where he resided. And yet, he could immediately discern the growing muscle tone in the young girl. She had been training relentlessly, so much so that she had neglected taking care of her basic hygiene. He glanced between Chiaki and Hanako and began his approach. Undetectable by most forms of chakra sensory and completely silent in his movement the man moved like a wraith, tattered cloak flowing behind him. He would allow the girls to introduce themselves to one another, before interjecting, “Nozomi is quite young. I want you to train with her, help her grow strong and fast like you” he said to the dark-haired girl, crouching slightly as he squeezed her arm for emphasis and nodded with approval. “But first, get yourself cleaned up and buy some new clothes” he insisted as he handed her a small bag of coins. Then, turning his attention to Chiaki he stood and moved closer to the woman. “I have a favor to ask of you. Nozomi will need a sword, I want you to craft it for her” he explained as he handed her a piece of paper detailing some of the design and mechanics that he desired for her. “Take them to the Waterfall outpost, have her learn Yoshin and keep them close. I’ll also require communication fuuin and a spacetime seal so we can communicate and travel to one another if needed.” He explained further. There was no time to waste, and for those who knew him well there was even a hint of desperation in his cold, even tones.

Nozomi would be waiting patiently in the hotel until she saw her father start to move. She would quietly follow him practicing her stealth techniques for walking along the way. As she followed him she was unaware of what he was thinking and would instead be thinking of ways to improve herself along the way. She knew she had to get stronger faster so she wouldn’t be left behind everyone else.

Eventually as they were walking Nozomi would see Shinji switch to stealth for some reason. She knew she was currently no match for shinji in stealth or much of anything for that matter. So she decided to split off from him so she wouldn’t give away his stealthy approach. Nozomi would approach the pair from a different angle so that her amateur approach wouldn’t give away Shinji’s position.

Once she was close to the pair she would wave and say “hello nice to meet you both I’m Karagata Nozomi.” Her voice wasn’t monotonous but it also had very little warmth to it. She would then wait for the others to introduce themselves. Afterwards she would hear Shinji interject causing her to fall silent so he could speak. She would then wait there as he explained the situation to them.

Chiaki nodded to Nozomi as she became aware of a couple of things. Shinjiro seemed to be more attached to this girl than he was to almost anyone else that she could see. She could tell that from the proximity that he held her at, and the resemblance between the two made it obvious that they were from at least the same family. With Chiaki's run in with Shinjiro in the waterfall she suspected that either this was his daughter, or some sort of relative of his that was close, like a neice.

In low tones as they made their way across to Shinjiro and Nozomi she stated, "You don't have to call her Senpai, as I don't know how old she is, she looks old enough to call her that, but we will judge her based on her actual experience. She may end up calling you Senpai by the time this is over." She gave a lazy smile to Shinjiro, one that showed her ease with the dangerous shinobi.

"I already made myself clear to her to get a new set of clothing with my money, and to keep herself up more." She frowned inscrutably a bit at Hanako who was by her side, "Thank you for the reiteration of this though." Chiaki didn't know why Hanako had decided that she should neglect herself for training, but then again Chiaki had let herself become more wild and less regimented too. Maybe she should enroll them both in a hospital nearby, or set up a free clinic outside of town.

"Don't let Nozomi bully you, and take good care of her." She looked at Hanako with her golden orange eyes and smoothed the hair down on her pupil's head, she would personally dunk Hanako in the tub if she refused to take a bath. She lingered for a moment in fondness at her disciple before looking at Nozomi for the second time, taking in the young woman in front of her, "I am Kyoukan, Chiaki." She introduced, "This is my Imouto, Hanamura Hanako." She squeezed Hanako's shoulders before letting go of the girl.

"As for the anchors." She channeled some chakra into some inert pieces of Megallium, each one in the shape of a butterfly and held her palm out, the four butterflies glittering on her palm, "These should serve." The butterflies looked like her pearl morphos, and were small enough to be concealed in the mouth, on someone’s person, or anywhere else they should choose to store them, including up their noses should they so desire. She had seen things that Ninja had stuffed up places they shouldn’t have been and had been asked to extract many a scroll from some awkward places including one man’s stomach.

She flicked her fingers a couple of times, making some hasty symbols before she did so and drew some symbols in the air, trying to get the knack of one of the techniques she had seen one of the fuuinjutsu users using for their jutsu for writing in the air, "I bet I can probably get those seals for you by the end of our meal?" She raised an eyebrow, asking a silent question of Shinjiro. He seemed irritated, on edge, and cold. Usually he was only like this when there was danger around. Her butterflies hadn't really sensed anything on the way in and she trusted Hanako would keep a close watch along with Shinjiro. What wasn't he telling her?

"The sword." Her eyes rested on him for a while before moving back and forth between Nozomi and him, "Do you have dimensions, needs, wants, and other things? Do you have a base or am I working with an idea? What do you want it to be made out of? What is your preferred sword-style? Do you have a weight limit?" She started rattling off things that she would need, while she motioned a butterfly over to her, the little thief had procured a pen for her while another little thief had grabbed one of the serving-menu notepads and Chiaki took both of these, looking at the pair. They were standing quite awkwardly in the hotel, in the middle of the foyer, but Chiaki didn't know exactly how much time Shinjiro had, nor how much time that she would have with Nozomi before he either left himself or whisked his... neice? away.

She was grateful to the young woman, whatever her relation to Shinjiro, for her manners and her way of introductions, she hoped that some of them might rub off on Shinjiro who seemed to think that they were at war or something. It wasn't like there was a plague of toads running around their feet or some sort of giant frog eating people that they cared about.

Shaking her head she exhaled, and waited for the answers, to the questions which she had asked, the questions that she had hinted at, and the questions that were unhinted, and unasked. She and Hanako had just arrived after all, she was wondering what the big hurry was anyhow.

Of course, she could use the Link Fuuinjutsu now, like he asked, but she wanted answers first.

*Charge Fuuinjutsu • Air Seal
D-Rank Fuuinjutsu
A truly unique move in that it can be used alongside other Fuuinjutsu, by channeling into their finger as they draw in the air directly in front of them, the user releases raw chakra the lingers for a small amount of time, allowing it to be used as a seal formula. Alternatively the user can also do hand seals and place their hands forward, causing a seal to burst to life in the air in front of them. This technique consumes chakra equal to the cost of the technique.

*Augment Fuuinjutsu • Link
C-Rank Fuuinjutsu
By performing the necessary hand seals, the user will then touch their target’s ear and on the lips, this creates an audio link between themselves and any targets they personally place this seal combination on. While hearing is always active, channeling chakra into the seal allows affected targets to speak, their words being stored and transmitted to the other seals. The act of speaking charges negligent chakra.
jutsu usedShow

X3
*Open Space: Anchor
C-rank Jikukan Ninjutsu
The user will do a series of hand seals, then touch an object turning up to two objects into an anchor. An anchor will be opened, acting as a means to move through space, this must be used in conjunction with other jutsu that utilize opening space such as the *Open Space: Seeking Truth technique.

*Recycle & Open Space: True Link
A-rank Jikukan Ninjutsu
The user will do a series of hand seals then place one hand on an any object small enough to fit in their grasp. Upon doing so, they will Recycle Space, creating an exact duplicate of that object. The duplicate of said object will act as an Anchor, turning both objects into links to each other. Should any party aside from the Architect come in contact with either anchor, they’ll be instantly transported to the other Anchor either a) they elect to or b) their control is less than the control of the Architect. The Architect can opt to use the Anchor at any point as well, should they so choose.

Hanako happily accepted Chiaki’s words about Nozomi, although she didn’t know if she wanted to be called a senpai or not. Nozomi introduced herself, and then Chiaki introduced herself and then Hanako. Then Hanako felt a sudden fright.

She had been actively using her sensory skills, so when Shinjiro spoke and seemingly appeared out of nothing she had felt ice in her veins and folded her arms - a harmless gesture to some but Hanako’s wrists now bore a sealing jutsu on each arm filled with all manner of weaponry. She was half a heartbeat away from drawing the weapon out before she recognized the voice of Shinjiro. This was her first time experiencing a discrepancy between her sensory skill and her idea was shattered about how this was possible. Shinjiro… he wasn’t there. He was like a ghost. He had no chakra - and despite how close they were together she still couldn’t feel it. She had come to recognize that Shinjiro wasn’t her or Chiaki’s enemy, but this only meant that she wasn’t going to attack Shinjiro. She was still quite tense as he pinched her arm and stuffed a bag of coins into her hands. She realized she had let her guard down because she felt that she could detect anything and anyone around before they approached, and she had never realized or been so blatantly proven wrong before. If Shinjiro had been an enemy she would have already been dead.

She was lost to the conversation at this point. The girl’s eyes darted about wildly as her mind raced through all of her training that she had ever received and the shinobi academy in Kumogakure. Stealth was one of the basics, moving quietly and detecting when someone was trying to be sneaky were the basics. She had thought she had mastered those skills. She was wrong. Sensory was the detection of chakra. Chakra was the life force. Every living thing had chakra - only the dead and stones didn’t have chakra. Shinjiro did not appear dead to her, and his touch proved there was some warmth to his form. No, he couldn’t be dead. How then did he have no chakra for her to detect?

Hanako started muttering to herself, not really paying attention to the conversation, although she was still plenty aware of the people her sensory technique where detecting. ”Anatomy. Chakra core- no core is death - no resolution. Chakra coils- undeveloped, damaged coils; incorrect does not match observations.Tenketsu. Possibility. Suppressed tenketsu hide chakra but prevents execution of technique, consistent with no sound… jutsu.“

It was the only thing that made sense. She had never seen nor heard of a jutsu that could eliminate traces of one’s chakra but from a technicality standpoint she could already begin to imagine the principles. Something like camouflage except on the chakra scale could work. Silencing one’s movement to such a degree as well was likely related to a technique. This was a stealth technique and it had defeated her sensory technique. She had known Shinjiro was dangerous but this was just frustrating in a way that she couldn’t explain.

Hanako tried to focus her sensory on Shinjiro but she just didn’t have the control to make the sensory technique she was already using any more detailed than it already was. She would need to work on her control first.

Shinjiro glanced between the trio, “Nozomi is only a Genin; Hisayo, and Kayoko’s Dagger” he clarified. She would need quite a bit of refining if she were to be of any use to the Seven Swordsmen. Before long there might be new spots to be filled. He expected her to be ready to take her place as a full member when the opportunity presented itself. The handsome young man regarded Chiaki’s smile with some semblance of warmth, a gentle nod and a soft expression in his often-lifeless eyes. He considered for a moment that to passerby’s they might be mistaken for a couple with their daughters, each scolding the eldest for her lack of cleanliness. Chiaki would make for a fine mother by most standards. His own daughters and their respective mothers were each dangerous women; Kirigakure women who were each not quite human. Perhaps he had a preferred type. But he knew there was nothing akin to love between himself and Chiaki. They had shared in pleasure and were comrades, but their hearts each belonged to others. Still, he couldn’t deny that his protectiveness over the woman had grown since their encounter in the Waterfall.

He nodded, satisfied that Hanako would be tended to properly. “Good. She is one of us, there is no need for her to want for anything. The world is ours, we can do anything, be anyone. These people…” he placed a hand against Chiaki’s mid back as he looked around with disdain toward those who stared and sneered at their presence. Then, looking to each of the girls he beckoned them closer and talked softly, “They are all beneath us, but there is merit in knowing how to live among them and blend in” he explained, hoping they would understand. As a shinobi it was best not to draw attention to oneself, at least until they had gained the strength necessary to not care about such things. He smirked as Hanako tried to process his chakra masking skill. “That’s right. You’re a clever girl” he acknowledged, before allowing his chakra to surge forth once more. “Never become complacent. There will always be those with skills to counter your techniques. Keep pushing yourself to improve and be the strongest version of yourself possible. Only then will you have a chance of surviving in this world” he advised.

The Jinchuuriki accepted the butterfly anchors, “Good. These will do” he praised, pocketing them for now. He raised a brow at the mention of a meal, “Chiaki...I really don’t have the time. There are urgent matters at hand that demand my attention” he insisted, with some bite to his tone. He wasn’t used to having to explain himself to others. Typically, his word was treated as law and others obeyed without question, either out of fear or respect. But this woman had a way of getting what she wanted out of him, one way or another. He frowned further at being asked to explain the swords specifications despite the detailed diagram he gave her. Granted neither his artistic ability nor his handwriting was particularly good. It wasn’t the sort of thing he often had to do himself.

Shinji snapped his fingers, gesturing the girl to hand over her weapon for inspection. Once he had it in hand, he unsheathed it and spun it around with a quick flicking slash, aiming to nick Chiaki across the chest. If she wanted to know so badly, she could experience it herself. The blade was a simple tanto with a mild paralytic effect, muscle spasms at first and then numbness and localized paralysis to the immediate area around the cut. “That’s the extent of its ability currently. I would like to replace the blade with Nozomi’s chakra, able to extend it at will and take on the properties of her unique poisonous chakra. If you can keep or perhaps even increase the potency of the paralytic properties as well that would be ideal” he explained. “The Seven Swordsmen will compensate you appropriately for your troubles” he assured.

Then, tilting his head and sighing with exasperation he realized Chiaki wouldn’t let him off the hook about what was troubling him. “I am needed in Water country. Our lands are under invasion by one of the most powerful men in the world, and his army. No, not Hayate. The frog Shogun and that damn Heart Empire of his” he grumbled under his breath. He didn’t want to admit it but for the first time in many years he felt afraid. He had heard the rumors, that Fuhen had been the one to kill the Mizukage, leaving Kirigakure leaderless. Shinjiro was now the strongest in the village. It was his duty to defend water country. At any cost. “I need your help Chiaki. I’m relying on you if things go bad” he forced himself to say. His vibrant green eyes pleaded a silent ‘Please’ and for a moment the terrifying beast seemed only a boy; vulnerable and finding himself with only one person in the world he could lean on. Ever since Maido had been defeated he felt incomplete. Chiaki was the only person he knew that had any hope of being able to fill that void.

*[Iaido • Silent Passing]
B-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
Prerequisite(s): *[Iaido • Death’s Gates].
Unlike most of Iaido's techniques, Silent Passing is not particularly useful in the heat of combat. Instead, it is an attack meant to be executed from a standing position, such as while casually walking towards an opponent. Once in close enough proximity to the opponent, the practitioner draws their sword, strikes the opponent's opening, and sheaths their blade with such speed, it appears to the untrained eye that the practitioner continued to simply walk past their target. Properly reading this attack requires the opponent to have a Perception technique of equal or higher rank than this technique. Otherwise, the opponent will not be capable of fully avoiding this attack if they are in range without some sort of passive defense.

Nozomi would just wait there and listen while Chiaki spoke but it seems like Hanako was freaking out over the fact that she couldn’t sense Shinji. It made her wonder about her? Made she just didn’t do good with unexpected developments? Maybe she could use that against her in the future. She would then think of various possibilities she could use to beat this new person she was going to be training with. Though based on her deductions and Shinji’s reaction she was apparently pretty smart. Hopefully this would be the change she needed to get strong enough.

She would continue to listen in as the conversation between them was starting to wrap up, when she heard Shinji say something interesting. She would have to remember those words, if someone as strong as her Father was saying it she guessed he was also looking for more power to fight those like the frog Shogan. After he was done with his Inspirational speech she then would hear that Shinji wanted the sword so would quickly take it out and hand it to him.

Watching as he uses it on Chiaki she was a little surprised also expected it a little since that’s just how he does things. She was worried that the girl named Hanako would try something because this possible so she watched her carefully just in case. But showed no signs of aggression and made no aggressive movements until it was clear Hanako would try something against her.

After he finished stabbing Chiaki she would hear him explain the details to Chiaki about the sword. She was still watching Hanako carefully just in case but now was More watching her out of the corner of her eyes. For now she continued to wait while Shinji finished talking to Chiaki.

“It’s what we call a stealth jutsu.” Chiaki explained patting Hanako’s head, “Run up and get yourself washed up, remember what you did last time?” She asked, trying to get Hanako to recall when she had been dirty before they had hunted the wyvern, “No dirty spots, none behind your ears or in any crevices, that means under your nails too.” She nodded twice and pat the spot between Hanako’s shoulderblades to have her go off to the bath.

“Kayoko… that takes me back.”
Chiaki’s eyes dimmed over with the first time she had met the two danger sisters. “How are they since… Maido’s fall?” Referring to Hisayo as well, that and the wolf and the tree. She nodded to Nozomi and finally addressed the genin.

“Hello, I am Kyoukan, Chiaki, I am a friend of Shinjiro’s, or I suppose as close to a friend as I can get for now. Probably need to prove my strength or some other such silly nonsense to gain his complete favor.” She grinned, sticking her tongue out a little to show how silly she thought it. “Mmmm, I agree with most of what Shinjiro said, we need to always be on the lookout, always hone ourselves, and make ourselves the best that we can be. We can’t hope to protect others if we can’t even protect ourselves.” She mirrored and mimicked the words she had thrust upon her by Maido all that time ago.

“You can’t take all of- oh dear here.” She sighed and gave him one more butterfly as he snatched all of the ones meant for the younger people gathered too, "the RED one is a ticket back to me. The others if you scatter them are tied to their colors, the blues are two sides of a portal and the greens are two sides of a portal. Just channel a small amount of chakra and they’ll take you to the other anchor, bringing you, and the anchor you hold, along with them.”

She looked to Nozomi and sighed, “Shame that you won’t be able to stay for at least a bite to eat. You know that food fuels the body right?” Se looked concernedly at Shinjiro, talking more to him than to anyone for the moment, since he seemed to be in a hurry, “Unless you’re something inorganic, I suppose, but I actually made it so that I can process foods and use them for energy like a normal body. Overly complicated, but it makes resting easier.”

Shinji snapped his fingers, and then spun around to face her with the blade proffered to her. She only noticed when her dress started to sag in a rather unflattering way that he had nicked her. “Some form of Taijutsu, will have to keep that sensory type jutsu up when I’m around you from now on. You know that ruining a girls’ clothes is not nice right?” She pouted, feeling the paralytic toxins spreading throughout the wound. “I am going to collect the sample and will analyze it so that I can reproduce its effects and make the weapon you desire.” She told Nozomi, and wove hand seals, pulling the toxin out of her body at the site and storing it in a small phial in a seal on a scroll.

“I’m not worried much about money, I’ll consider it a favor for you, I would just ask that you at least pay the cost of materials, since I am rather limited with the allowance I get from Maido at this time.” She shrugged, “I just want enough to take care of Hanako really.”

She nodded at the water country invasion, seemed like every other week there was an invasion or defense these days. “I am glad that it’s not Hayate, he is scary. He put me in the ground once, and I know he is capable of doing it to many different people.” She nodded at the ‘relying on you’ that he said, looking into his eyes she saw the desperation and the fear there.

“Here, this is how you use them.” She took out a kunai and made another of it by creating an anchor. Grinning, she tossed it behind Shinjiro and snapped behind him, placing the kunai against his neck for a split second. She sheathed it quickly, sighing, “Not that I would use it for that sort of thing, I usually set them up for places that I want to see again, or whatnot.” She shrugged. "I had 1 kunai, which the universe thought was 2 kunai because I split it into 2 kunai ‘sorta’ and then I collapsed them into 1 again, bringing me along with it.” Same went for the butterflies but she didn’t think that she needed to explain that to him.

“While I may be useless in a fight, I can at least put some barriers up on you before you fight, if we do it right, and then I can run away and be your anchor for running should things get too heavy. That is if I don’t die first.” She grinned.

Everything seemed to be coming along swimmingly, that is, until Shinjiro took Nozomi’s blade and in due course of explaining what he wanted for the craftsmanship quickly slashed at Chiaki at a blinding speed that Hanako honestly couldn’t follow until the aftermath. She only started connecting the dots - seeing Chiaki’s slashed open clothing, even as her elemental body reformed and healed as if the cut had never been there in the first place. Hanako tensed for a moment when she realized what had happened. The sudden betrayal from Shinjiro had not been on her list of expectations… no.. it wasn’t a betrayal. Hanako was not very good at reading body language, but it seemed that Chiaki wasn’t bothered at all.

Hanako was more than prepared to fight, but it seemed this wouldn’t be needed. Not now, at least. Chiaki continued with business as usual. That is until Chiaki demonstrated her space time ninjutsu with a Kunai. It was another movement too fast to follow but for a completely different reason. It seemed that Chiaki hadn’t really moved at all. At the explanation of how the technique worked, Hanako tried to pour her mind over it but the way she was describing the technique wasn’t very intuitive. She would need to research this on her own later. That was fine. She liked puzzles. She wanted to ask about the technique but not here when Shinjiro was still around. She had enough random attacks from would be allies. She’d rather not need to be on her guard non stop just because one of the most dangerous people in her world was around.

”Is this Frog shogun our enemy?” she turned to Chiaki with the inquiry. She had identified herself as being a friend of Shinjiros not even but a few moments ago - Hanako was somewhat informed about Geo-political events, but she mostly didn’t care for them. Ultimately it was just because that is how Hanako was. She was more object oriented than people oriented. People, after all, were boring. You can’t make or create with a person. They are obstacles. A source of frustration. Hanako thought for a moment about her Granny and whether she thought the Frog Shogun was an enemy. It was only too bad that Granny had never mentioned this person before so that Hanako could know for sure.

Shinjiro’s eyes softened somewhat as he watched Chiaki interact with Hanako. He had never had a mother growing up, only a strict father and older siblings that tortured and beat him to enforce discipline. The only kindnesses he received were from the household slaves, when he was young he had thought they might have truly cared about him, but as he got older he realized that there was never any love; only duty and fear. The first woman that had ever shown him genuine loyalty and compassion had been Maido, and then had come each of his girlfriends; Chisaki and Asami who now each raised one of his daughters. Slowly, such displays of affection were becoming normalized, but he still felt like an outsider looking in, able to observe but not quite replicate such displays of love.

He felt no empathy toward Kayoko and Hisayo; perhaps it would have been cathartic to confide in them and build up a relationship there but it was difficult for him to perceive any form of love from them. They reminded him of the household slaves, serving Maido more out of duty and fear than the true and pure devotion he felt toward her. “They’re…still learning to become their own people. Hisayo in particular has potential to become truly strong” he assessed. While each were rather lacking in personality, he did prefer Hisayo and her cold demeanor and capable skillset. She reminded him vaguely of his sister but without the mind games and sadism that Chiasa was known for.

Shinjiro’s eyes narrowed as Chiaki introduced herself as his friend, though he supposed it wasn’t inaccurate. Aside from members of his family, Asami included, there were only a handful of individuals he could say he trusted and cared for. Somehow Chiaki had managed to make it on the list. She was at least exceptionally useful and he couldn’t deny that he appreciated her nurturing and disarming personality. Even for him, it was tiresome to be constantly on edge. For the most part he felt surprisingly comfortable around Chiaki and she possessed several talents that helped him to unwind and feel some semblance of peace.

He nodded as she described how each of the colors interacted. It seemed simple enough and would certainly give him an extra edge and safety net in combat. His praise was the closest thing to a thank you that he could manage. He had been taught from a young age to always rely on himself and never attempt to take down a target he wasn’t sure he could kill. But also, to never underestimate his opponent and always have an escape planned in case things went sideways. Even now, as strong as he was, he knew the dangers of overconfidence. And more than ever, he knew the risk he took by relying on others.

Shinji ignored the woman’s comment about food, he didn’t like to eat much directly before a battle. Besides, when he transformed he tended to lose himself and feast well enough on his enemies. Though he supposed Chiaki’s Iijutsu-infused food could be made an exception. But for now, he was more concerned about wrapping up the business of Nozomi’s sword design. His eyes narrowed slightly as he observed the fake blood Chiaki’s body produced from the cut. His curiosity got the better of him and he reached out with his free hand to wipe the liquid from her chest. Then, lowering his mask he brought it to his lips to taste. He was also curious if her body innately held any toxins or other properties that would be either beneficial or harmful to ingest. “You can buy more” he stated simply, not seeing the value in material things such as clothes. Though as she explained her finances were tight he came to understand. No matter, he was sure he could cover the costs of anything she required. “You’ll have whatever you need” he assured.

The young nobleman of Kiri was still contemplating this new taste to Chiaki and wondering how different the rest of her was as he explained the situation in Water country. He considered the challenge of Hayate as Chiaki brought up the hypothetical situation. “I imagine the Raikage is a similar caliber to Aizawa Yoru, the Konoha Bannin I fought in the Aroma Country tournament. That was my first-ever tournament loss. I’d consider the odds 3:1 against me. But Fuhen, if the rumors are true, that he did kill the Mizukage, then he is likely even stronger than Hayate as well” he considered. While there was no question that Shinjiro was a Kage-level combatant, there were certain matchups that didn’t bode well for him. And the truth was that in a prolonged fight against shinobi of such calibre, he was typically at a disadvantage. After all, he was first and foremost an assassin.

He contemplated his chances, theoretically, he had a better chance against a fellow Taijutsu practitioner rather than Elemental Kinesis specialists. He had made short work of Katsu after all and had never been bested in Taijutsu before. But the legends of Fuhen had reached even his ears, a man that wielded a hundred swords and could survive any injury. Did he have the stamina to go toe to toe with a man like that? If his poisons were rendered useless then it seemed likely it would only be a matter of time before he was worn down. Lazily, he glanced over as Chiaki duplicated a kunai and tossed one casually behind him. In an instant, she disappeared, faster than even he could track. Teleportation evidently. And the instant she reappeared behind him, he felt her presence, turning toward her and leaning forward slightly as he partially drew one of his Katana from his back, protecting his neck and intercepting the kunai. “Cute” he muttered calmly, his icy eyes staring over his shoulder back at the woman. He didn’t care much for her explanation and he had already considered tactics to assassinate his opponents or retreat. Though he nodded and handed Nozomi's sword back to her and sheathed his own blade as Chiaki spoke about additional protective measures she could impart him with. “Good. I’ll be off then. I’ll have you teleport to me when I get to Water country, unless you think your defensive measures will last the journey. Now, get on with those communication seals so I can let you know when I need you” he insisted. The faster he could get going the better. Hanako and Nozomi had training to do and he had places to be.
Jutsu UsedShow
[Vibration Sense]
S-Ranked Taijutsu Discipline
Prerequisite: [Perception]
Becoming finely attuned with his sense of touch and even his ability to hear low frequencies Shinji had developed the ability to feel vibrations extremely acutely. He can detect the slightest movements within a 15-meter radius of himself through solid surfaces, 25 meters if standing on water or within mist or rain and a 10-meter radius from the air itself. From this he can detect the size anything moving around him and their direction as well as approximate weight. This is only effective on moving targets.

[Iaido • Back Draw]
Prerequisite(s): Ambidexterity
C-Rank Kenjutsu Discipline
An unorthodox and difficult skill to master Shinjiro has learned how to harness the Iaido skills from the drawing position of a sword strapped across his back. Any Iaido related technique can be performed from this sword position with the same efficiency as a draw from the waist. The difference is that when drawing and sheathing in this manner the user has learned to utilize only one hand, potentially allowing the user to wield more than one weapon at a time.

*[Iaido • Mantra]
D-Rank Taijutsu Maneuver
A simple yet potent defense, especially against other weapons users, the practitioner partially draws the sword from its scabbard and blocks incoming attacks with the back of their blade. This technique is ineffective against opponents with higher Strength than the practitioner's Strength.

Would nod after hearing what she says and replies “ nice to meet you Chiaki-San I’m Karagata Nozomi “ she would then listen and watch as things start to progress it seems like based on Chiaki’s reaction and the fact the person next to her was starting to relax instead of doing something told her it wasn’t a big deal. So she continued to watch studying the interaction with great care. Before they seemed to be getting to the end of the talking.

She didn’t really want to interrupt them especially Shinji so she stayed quiet until she was spoken to.

Chiaki nodded to the small Karagata, "Hello Nozomi, come, let's train with Hanako together, that's the only way to get stronger."
