Location: Konohagakure no Sato, Briefing Room XX

The three ninja were in a small, nondescript briefing room. Akito stood at the front, facing Nakano and Masayoshi. He was garbed as befitted a mission briefing: navy ninja sandals and joggers, a black turtleneck underneath an unbuckled flak jacket, and a Konoha headband tied just above his eyebrows. A small pin gleamed on his collar: the Hyuuga mon.

“Welcome Masayoshi-san, Nakano-san,” Akito said, nodding to each in turn. “We have just been given a mission together. I have a briefing prepared; please save your questions for the end.”

This was a very different Akito than Masayoshi had encountered last. Gone was any trace of his polite, distant affability; it was replaced entirely with a businesslike straightforwardness.

Akito unbuckled one of the breast pockets of his flak jacket and produced a scroll with a broken seal. Unrolling it, he began to speak.

“This is the situation. Recently, there have been a series of bandit raids into the Hi no Kuni’s holdings near the southern tip of this continent. Specifically, they occured in the far northern borderlands of said holdings, in the vicinity of the tripoint between the Hi no Kuni, Kaze no Kuni, and Juu no Kuni. A local daimyo who administers the area put out this mission after several of his villages were raided for food, livestock, medical supplies, and strangely, construction and excavation tools. The bandits were seen absconding north with their loot. The daimyo’s scouts investigated the wild areas directly abutting the border. Those that returned found the bandits’ encampment within the Hi no Kuni’s borders. However, their intelligence suggests that this is a forward base. None of the raids’ spoils were spotted in or around the base, there is no sign that they were shipped further south. Therefore, they must have been sent further northwards.”

Akito unfurled more of the scroll and turned it to face Masayoshi and Nakano. On it, there was a pair of maps. The first was a small outline of the Hi no Kuni’s southern holdings with a square drawn around its northern corner. The second map was clearly a detail of that region with a blue cross and a red cross drawn on it.

“Our mission is twofold. The first stage will be to exterminate the forward base within the Hi no Kuni’s borders. Once we arrive in the province, we will meet here,” Akito pointed to the blue cross, “with the local daimyo, his scouts, and locals who witnessed the attacks.”

“We will then travel north to the last known location of the bandit camp,” he traced his finger along the map, landing on the red cross in time with the end of his sentence. “There we will exterminate the camp and try to ascertain where the bandits’ main base is located. The second stage will be to find and – if possible – eliminate the main base.”

“Those are the details of our mission as they stand in this report,” Akito said, re-rolling the scroll and placing it on the table behind him. “That said, I have taken the liberty of tracing out some of the ways this mission might go. First of all, it is possible – albeit unlikely – that the main base is elsewhere within the Hi no Kuni. This will be the easiest situation, as we will be able to rely on local intelligence to help us take it down.”

Akito took a deep breath in and exhaled. “Next, the base may be just over the border in the Kaze no Kuni. If this turns out to be the case, things may get tough. Although the Hi no Kuni and Kaze no Kuni are on good terms, we cannot risk a diplomatic incident by covertly crossing the border and attacking the residents, even if they are bandits. If this is the case we will have to go through political channels via the local daimyo and send word to Konohagakure no Sato before we can proceed with the mission. Lastly, our target may have encamped in the Juu no Kuni. I believe that this is the most likely option. Due to the lawless nature of the region, it makes the most sense that a large bandit clique would have been able to amass forces and fortify themselves without being spotted. Furthermore, without formal border controls, it would be easier to smuggle loot into the Juu no Kuni than into the Kaze no Kuni. If they are indeed in that cursed land, we are clear to pursue them albeit with extreme caution.”

Akito reached into his back pocket and produced a folded sheet of paper.

“Masayoshi, you and I had the fortuitous opportunity to meet each other recently, so I doubt any introductions are necessary,” Akito said, unfolding the paper and scanning the first several lines. “Furthermore, I understand that the two of you are acquainted and recently worked together to extinguish a…” Akito trailed off.

“Why is it written that way?” he mumbled to himself. “To extinguish a… W I L D F I R E, so you two have some record of working together. From your dossier,” Akito held the paper up and shook it before returning it to his eye level, “Nakano, I can see that you are a genin of this village specializing in medical jutsu, and that you are assigned to the local hospital. Under normal circumstances, this is not a mission that a genin would be allowed on, but we were… advised to take a medical specialist with us. You had excellent marks in the academy, and you came highly recommended by your sensei. Furthermore, it sounds as if the doctors at your placement want you to gain further experience with field medicine. Thus, your inclusion on this team. I see here that you have…” Akito tensed his brows slightly and paused for a moment, ”some… experience with combat. A genin of your skill should be able to handle the foes we are likely to encounter. However, we stand to face a volume of opposition that you, frankly, have not ever handled. As such, I would urge you to exercise extreme caution in combat, and try to stick to supporting and ranged roles where possible.”

Akito folded the dossier back up and placed it back in his pocket.

“Since we have not had the pleasure of meeting, I will introduce myself. My name is Hyuuga Akito. I am a jonin of Konohagakure specializing in intelligence gathering and close combat. Furthermore, due to my seniority I have been designated as the team leader. Masayoshi is second in command. With that out of the way, Nakano, I would have you introduce yourself in your own words, rather than those of your record. After that, the floor is open to questions.”

The ranking of this mission was one that she had never been assigned before. It was frankly out of her league. She had been on B rank missions, but those missions were in her range because they required a woman, and one willing to throw away her pride. Nakano didn’t think she had much by way of pride. Frankly, she didn’t care. She rolled up the scroll she received her instructions on, which included the time she should meet with the rest of her team and in which briefing room that would take place in. This trip would likely take several days, and she would need supplies to last her. Spare clothing, emergency food in case they couldn’t hunt, and other things that pertained to personal hygiene would be placed in her backpack neatly packed so there wasn’t really much room after all was said and done.

The packing had taken a considerably smaller amount of time than she had anticipated so she sat at the kitchen table in her apartment and waited. She had no loved ones to wish her well, she didn’t love them after all they would rather have her out of their hair. She didn’t mind, but this meant her apartment was empty save for her spartan living.

Before the meeting time, Nakano had stopped by a bakery to obtain some treats for her squad mates. It would be a good idea to get on their good side. Some shinobi were so untrusting however that she wouldn’t be surprised if she got reprimanded. She didn’t know this Akito, but she did know Masayoshi and he seemed the kind that would accept a gift. When Nakano had entered the briefing room, she brought with her the scent of breakfast tacos that she had in a box.

She strolled in with an of confidence that perhaps a genin walking into a dangerous mission for jonin shouldn’t have had. She wore a black turtle neck with long sleeves that could barely contain her ample bosom. Her Shinobi headband was worn like a belt buckle, marking her as a kunoichi for Konohagakure no Sato. She had a backpack on her back as well and carried a pouch on her hip and a shuriken holster on her left thigh - but above all else it was clear that she included her body as a weapon - and that wasn’t to say that she was a taijutsu expert. She carried a box with her prize of breakfast tacos.

She placed it on a nearby table, and opened the box as to invite her squadmates to partake. Each taco was rolled in tin foil and sealed with a sticker as to show that none had been tampered with. It was little assurance for a skilled shinobi, but then there had to be some kind level of trust eventually. She took a taco for herself and sat down. She laid out her supplies much as how they had taught her was the protocol to do for when one was going on a mission - so that her team leader could review t he items she had brought.

As Akito gave the mission briefing, Nakano made sure to memorize the details of the map. It was a simple trick that had been taught in the academy - and so she had no issue with searing the terrain and locations that had been pointed out by Akito in mind. There were some curiosities however. Juu no Kuni was on the far side of Kaze no Kuni. If that was likely where the bandits had encamped that meant that they were already going to need to open up diplomatic channels with the Land of Wind - otherwise they would not be able to even approach these bandits. It was curious where the information was coming from, because to cross two great nation’s borders was no simple feat for common bandits. They would have to be extremely skilled in their own right to be able to make such a manuever and not be caught. Perhaps she was in over her head?

Of course, Akito offered - that she should remain in a support role. That was one that made the most sense. She had some skill with sensory techniques and medical techniques. She’d be able to treat any injuries that fell upon the team while out on this mission.

She couldn’t help but notice how Akito had paused when reading over her information. The jonin of the village were trusted with secrets, and it seemed that her own had been entrusted to Akitos. No games with him then? Is that what this meant? It was disappointing, but then she really shouldn’t be playing her kind of games with people who were supposed to be her allies. Pity. Akito finally got around to asking her to introduce herself.

She stood from her seat. ”Hyuuga-san, as you are already aware I am Nakano. My specialty is in medical jutsu, which I am quite proficient with. Another specialty of mine is forming covert sexual or romantic relationships with a target, as to either obtain intelligence or to create an opportunity for assassination. I think you should already know that I am not so skilled in a straightforward fight, but that isn’t really my preferred way of combat. ” Nakano which carefully for any microexpressions that might reveal themselves in her shinobi comrades. They were jonin and certainly could control their emotions, but she was looking for weaknesses in their armor, and she so often found it when it came to her methods. It was true that they could probably do the same thing, and use a simple henge to disguise themselves as a honeypot for their victims, but Nakano had a certain personality for it. Doing this in the long run seemed to take its toll on people, but Nakano found it fun to fool someone, and hey what did it hurt if she got a little pleasure on the side.

Meanwhile, many miles away a lone Chunnin stood at the village gates of The Hidden Sand Village. In his hand, a battered scroll detailing his assignment. Tozoku was dressed in his usual understated attire. From top to bottom Tozoku wore his Suna stamped headband, which sat low on his brow and smeared with soot to reduce glare. A black form-fitting tanktop and dark gray cargo pants. His forearms and calves were tied off with bandages. He wore a pair of plain black boots. His unremarkable katana was mounted across his back with a simple piece of string. A sturdy leather belt secured the pouches containing his ninja tools. In addition, he was sporting a small rucksack with camping essentials to sustain him on a mission in remote territory. Tozoku stashed the across in the pouch mounted to his right side and with little fanfare took his first steps out of the village, making cursory eye contact with the guards.

In his minds-eye, Tozoku's considered the contents of his mission scroll. Recently a low-level missing ninja hailing from Suna has reemerged in the area bordering 3 countries. Fire, Wind, and Juu. This particular deserter has been at large for the better part of a year and largely quiet until recently. Ordinarily, this would be an easy C-rank mission at worst, however, the recent conflict with Iwa complicated things. Suna wasn't willing to send a full team and is instead shoring up its defenses. The result was that Tozoku had been dispatched to eliminate or capture the traitor who equaled him in rank before their disappearance. A routine clean-up, usually carried out by 3 Chunnin instead is being attempted by one. 'Still', Tozoku consoled himself, 'The average rouge ninja picks up a lot of bad habits being out of the game for so long...so here's hoping they're average.' He pressed onwards, into the harsh desert.

As the minutes turned to hours he continued to mull over his preliminary plan to track his target. There have been sightings along the aforementioned borders according to informants. In that area, the local Daimyo and the surrounding city would be a good place to start. If that well came up dry he would have to rely on old intel and begin tracking from the last sighting. One such sighting lies between the mediocre Chunnin and the Daimyo, but it's among the oldest of his intel. It wouldn't be great for tracking, but it could reveal other details about his target.

As Nakano began her introduction, Akito leaned against the table behind him and grabbed one of the tacos. He gave it a sniff, took a single bite, then set it down. A small bemused smile crossed Akito lips as Nakano got to her secondary specialization. As she wrapped up, Akito stood up again.

"Very well. Thank you for your introduction. It will be helpful to have a support for this mission, and your medical skills will doubtlessly be useful."

Akito took two steps towards Nakano, producing yet another neatly folded piece of paper from his pocket. He held it out to her.

"This is a summary of the mission objectives and a timetable for our travel. We are going to leave tomorrow at zero-seven-hundred hours sharp. If there are no further questions, then Nakano, you are dismissed." Akito turned to Masayoshi. "I do have one further matter to speak to you about."

Well ... it was about that time. Fresh out the shower, today was the day Masayoshi would get to really prove himself. There was an intense, almost hypnotic, gaze that Masayoshi kept locked with himself and his reflection in the bathroom mirror. For others, life was was game, but, to Masayoshi's knowledge, games were meant to be played; what did that make them? Masayoshi didn't have a sliver of time to waste; he had been selected for a top secret mission, and obtaining the details necessary to play his part was of the utmost importance. Despite what he wanted to believe, Masayoshi knew the world was still at war, and the chaos wasn't sitting well with him. As the Konoha no Sūpāhīrō, it was Masayoshi's birthright to save all of the inhabitants of Planet Earth. Walking pass an old portrait of his parents, Shinkō and Meiyo, Masayoshi would close his eyes and smile before opening his eyes and exiting through the door of his lonely home.

"Hmm. I should probably take the shortcut to where I'm going. Thing is, I have no idea where I'm going." Masayoshi would slouch over, dropping his arms and wiggling them, before properly positioning himself in the direction he needed to go. Pointing forward towards a vibrantly shining sun, Masayoshi would move ahead; off into the sunrise. It was still quite early, so Masayoshi wasn't concerned about being late to the mission briefing. Donning his iconic garments, Masayoshi titled his gold rimmed glasses; black lens concealing his eyes, partially, at this point. Shifting his eyes back and forth, left and right, Masayoshi took note of everything in his surroundings as he made his way to a discreet offshore location. From the outside, you wouldn't be able to tell the building was being occupied. Reaching into either of his pouches, Masayoshi would grasp a medium sized scroll; unraveling it, going over its content, and detailing everything within. Masayoshi would remain silent as he lightly tapped open the door of the building he was, now, entering. Slowly walking down a dim lit hallway, Masayoshi had, finally, arrived.

"Akito-kun. Nakano-chan." Politely bowing, Masayoshi would take a seat as Akito prepared himself to speak; the demeanor of the man happened to be distinguishable different this time. As for Nakano, well, there was already something "distinct" that Masayoshi noticed about her. Nonetheless, Masayoshi was more accepting of their attitudes and moods now more than ever; this essence was appropriate for the business at hand. Masayoshi would intently listen to Akito's words; wondering if these bandits were a real threat or not. Adapting pacifist ideals during his younger days, Masayoshi lived for the sake of obtaining world peace; he wasn't known for killing people. Masayoshi never got the chance to branch out and explore the world how he wanted to, so there were many people he couldn't relate to. Masayoshi refused to judge people, though, as what they did what their life was what they did with their life. That was not for him to care too much for. Scanning the map being shown to him by Akito, Masayoshi would analyze what was meant to be known.

Having already met both Akito and Nakano, Masayoshi would skip the introductions; instead, watching the two of them interact and communicate. Masayoshi was very observant, so it shouldn't be of a surprise to any of them that he was closely keeping an eye on them. While they intermingled, Masayoshi would help himself to the food that Nakano had brought. Masayoshi would be appreciative of Nakano's gift, but it would inappropriate to thank her right now. Masayoshi would save the adoration for later. Quietly eating his taco, Masayoshi had come to the realization that it wasn't tampered with; Nakano must of been trustworthy. Masayoshi wanted to believe that she would be able to save all of their lives, if something drastic was to happen, but Masayoshi would never let anything happen to his comrades. Masayoshi didn't have to kill his opponents to defeat them; most people kill because they fear becoming the victim. Masayoshi, on the other hand, had the predisposition for being the next best being. Masayoshi's eyebrows would rise as he glanced over to notice Nakano's eyes almost peering into his "soul".

"Ah. Thanks for the taco, Nakano-chan. You're always so serious looking, but I am grateful of the food you have brought for us. Nutrients are essential." Making a funny face at her by stretching the skin underneath his eyes, Masayoshi would don an expression of emptiness. Masayoshi and the others were close in age, but he speculated on rather they had ever actually suffered or not. This mission wasn't about any of them; it was about the people they were going to save. Masayoshi wasn't fond of being faced with opposition who propagated ignorant and opposing views. Everything was being wrapped up, but there were still pertinent matters for the two Jōnin present, Masayoshi and Akito, to attend to. Switching his eyes to the eyes of Akito's, Masayoshi nodded towards him; this was his way of privately telling the man that he understood what he was saying to him. Masayoshi was curious about what Akito wanted to tell him; however, it would probably be best for Nakano to leave first.
"Please inform me once we are alone, Akito-kun. Sorry, Nakano." Masayoshi hoped that she understood; this time he skipped the honorifics for her as a means of denoting his sternness.

After Nakano was dismissed, Akito produced yet another piece of paper from one of his many pockets. This one was very neatly folded and shut with a wax seal bearing the symbol of the village. The word “Confidential” was stamped on the top of the paper. “For Masayoshi” was neatly inked in the bottom right corner.

“This is a copy of the girl’s dossier. Please read it carefully and dispose of it securely before we set off tomorrow morning. You’re dismissed. Get some rest; I’ll see you tomorrow.”

* * *

The next morning, Akito arrived at the village gate. His attire was similar to the previous day, the only changes being a buckled flak jacket, a set of wraps around his hands and forearms, and a small backpack topped by a bedroll. Dangling from his left hand was a small cloth bag. When his two companions arrived, Akito greeted them and opened up the bag.

“Umeboshi onigiri,” Akito said, handing a neatly folded triangle of rice wrapped in a shiny sheet of seaweed to Masayoshi and another to Nakano. “Grown in the Hyuuga orchards. We have a long day ahead of us and thought we could all use some sustenance.”

* * *

After several days of travel, the grasslands they had been traveling through gave way to grazing land, paddocks, fields, and rice paddies. At the center of all of this agricultural infrastructure was their destination: a small town that was not much more than a market square with a handful of permanent shops to serve the local peasantry, a shrine, an inn, and at the center a modest palace which housed the local daimyo. As the three shinobi approached, they saw that their pathlead through a guarded gate. Akito produced the mission scroll from his jacket and held it above his head.

“State your business,” a guard called out from the gate, clearly readying his weapon.

“We are shinobi of the Konohagakure no Sato, here on a mission for your lord. This scroll contains our credentials” Akito announced.

“Approach,” the guard called out, and Akito complied. The guard took the scroll and examined it briefly before letting the three pass. They were promptly escorted to the palace at the center of town. It was a small complex surrounded by short walls. Within was a large central building, clearly the main hall, which was flanked by two other buildings – likely residences for the lord, his family, and retainers.

The main hall was a large, airy room with a short wooden platform on one end. The last rays of the setting sun filtered in through paper doors. Flanked by guards and advisors sat a thin, middle aged man dressed in garments twice as fine as those of the next best dressed: the daimyo. In the center of the room were three small cushions.

The daimyo handed the pipe he was smoking to a servant behind him and stood.

“You must be the shinobi I sent for. Welcome to my humble domain. My name is Katou Junji,” the daimyo said.

“Greetings, Katou-sama,” Akito replied, bowing deeply before sitting seiza on the central mat. “My name is Hyuuga Akito. These are Masayoshi-san and Nakano-san.”

“I trust you have heard about the bandits that plague my land,” the daimyo began, pacing back and forth along the platform. “They have raided several villages in this district. Since we placed that contract, my scouts have observed a small band of them on the move.” He glanced at the dimming sun outside. “Since it is the end of the day, I insist that you rest in town for the evening. The local inn will be able to accommodate all of you. Before you leave tomorrow, the guard captain can brief you on the best way to find these bandits.”

Katou stopped his pacing at the center of the platform and exhaled a long plume of smoke.

“Furthermore, there is someone you will want to meet at the inn. A fellow ninja. Good evening.”

He made a gesture to dismiss the party. Akito stood, bowed, and left.

"It has been a long day. If we can rest here, we should," Akito suggested. "Plus, I am curious about this guest of the daimyo's. Let us head to the inn."

Tozoku found himself at the inn lobby, seated at a round wood table with three more empty chairs. Naturally, he chose a seat that would allow him a clear view of the entrance, anticipating a meeting arranged by the daimyo's head guard. The inn was a two-story structure, with the rooms on the second floor. From the entrance to one's right would be the main desk, straight ahead the path was clear to a set of stairs leading to the upper floor. The left half of the room had some tables and chairs. On the far left wall was a small bar where drinks were served. Besides two employees manning the main desk and bar, the lobby was full of civilian patrons scattered around the tables enjoying a stiff drink after a day of travel. Tozoku would be easy to find with his headband prominently displayed, occupying an empty table at an otherwise lively venue.

Tozoku was slumped in his chair, one arm over the back. He carried himself with an air of indifference, trying to conceal his discomfort. The Chunnin ran through the last few days that led him to this moment. 'First, there was the camp.' At the border of Wind Country Tozoku followed up on the older of his leads. As he searched the area he discovered an old camp sight that would have been for roughly a dozen men. At a glance, unrelated to his search. The age of the camp and his information roughly lined up so he combed through the remnants, finding evidence of his target. That piece of evidence was currently housed in a pouch on his hip next to his mission papers. 'Then my chat with the Daimyo.'

Even more worrying was when he arrived at the small village surrounding the Daimyo's estate he was approached by his guard. Even before Tozoku could poke around he was immediately invited to the estate for a meeting. It was there he learned of the scope of a bandit problem in the surrounding area and the shinobi that were hired to handle it. What that had to do with Tozoku you might ask? Eyewitnesses placed his particular target in the last raid. Why they invited Tozoku? They recognized the Suna emblem that his target wore. This made the difficulty of his mission exponentially more difficult as a lone agent. Assuming the bandits were easily subdued their numbers were greater than the dozen he originally thought. He'd be overwhelmed and likely eliminated in the fray by his target in direct combat.

'Which leaves me with no choice.' He concluded. Tozoku had to meet with this hidden leaf shinobi and try to broker a partnership. While their countries were indeed allies, ninjas were the paranoid sort. Not to mention he needed them more than they needed him. By his estimation, they could simply thin the bandit numbers or take out the leader, scattering them to the wind and his target with them. So with that in mind, he needed to be as forthcoming with information during this meet-up as possible. All that being said the real source of his discomfort was meeting them in the first place. It was said before, shinobi are paranoid. His eyes remained trained on the door, his relaxed posture concealing the tension built up inside him like a compressed spring. He idly plotted his escape from the building through it's many windows...

Nakano 's danced around Masaoyshi’s face. He made an obvious expression - a goofy face. As if to say he knew what she was doing. His face than became a slate and all the possible entertainment she might have gained from it disappeared. Annoying. He commented on her serious face. She thought about commenting about that but her eyes caught Akito in the corner of her eyes and she decided against it. She didn’t mind being bold and taking risks but she’d at least behave when her mission team leader was here. She wanted good marks in her file after all. She gathered up her things at being dismissed. ”As you wish Hyuuga-san.” She stood and walked out the door. Personal business between the two of them was it? She wasn’t invited it seemed, and it was considered a massive faux pas to listen in on conversations occurring in the sanctity of the mission briefing rooms. It could be classified information or just a private conversation. As Nakano exited, she closed the door behind her and considered pausing just long enough to listen, but in only a moment she realized that they were waiting for her to leave, and her presence was still very detectable. She clucked her tongue and left.

Nakano’s Dossier:
Enneagram Type - Type 4 “The individualist” Wing Type 8, “The Challenger”

Nakano’s personality aligns with Enneagram Type four with a strong connection to Type 8. Type 4s are known for their deep sense of individuality, desire for uniqueness, and their comfort in the darker aspects of life. The often feel different from others and seek to express their uniqueness through various forms. Nakano’s attraction to the Morose and Macabre and her artistic view on her murderous urges and her sense of being misunderstood or not fully accepted align with Type 4.Her controlling and potentially manipulative traits align with Type 8.

Due in part to a general rejection of her by her parents Nakano’s emotional development is stunted. Prior to her graduation from the Shinobi academy she was committing acts of torture on animals and even fellow classmates. After graduation she used her skills to fulfill her fantasy of murder. However due in part to her skills, and mentality she is viewed as an asset to the village.

The Konoha ANBU placed a seal inside of her mind to control her desire to kill and to ensure loyalty to the village. She will follow all legal orders given by her superior officers, and can’t take any action that would harm Konoha. The seal can be released if necessary, but re-engaging it would require the Yamanaka clan’s support.

Even with the seal, Nakano will attempt to emotionally manipulate her squad leader and her squad mates. Do not engage in her games and she will lose interest.
The Next morning, Nakano arrived punctually. She had her own gear and equipment with her, the same backpack that she had brought to the briefing the prior day. Akito handed an Onigiri to her and Masayoshi, which she accepted. She gave it a smell and jokingly asked, ”You didn’t poison it right?” but before anyone could speak she would take a bite. If it was poisoned she would have sealed her fate just now. The Onigiri tasted fresh and was quality like Akito was boasting it to be. Nakano touched her cheek. ”Hyuuga-san you have to show me how to make these sometime. Maybe when we’re off the clock and its just the two of us.” her voice was laden with open temptation, but just as suddenly as she had made the offer she dropped the topic and was then only focused on her job.

The travel with the two men was frustrating for Nakano. They were both very attractive and she really wanted to do something about it but she knew that she shouldn’t because she was on a mission. No she shouldn’t invite them, but what if they invited her? That would be different right? As they traveled each night they rested Nakano secretly hoped one of them would break with temptation and visit her in the night. She found it unfair how perfect men’s skin tended to be. After hours of traveling both men looked as gorgeous as ever and she felt like she had to constantly apply creams and lotions to protect her skin and keep her youthful appearance. Fortunately a shinobi’s lifestyle very much did a lot of good when it came to keeping one healthy, and she didn’t doubt the appearance of her body - she knew she was beautiful.

After traveling along the grasslands, having exited Konohagakure no Sato they arrived at a small town. Akito introduced the party to the guard who allowed them to approach after the brief introduction and explanation. They were lead to the Main hall where they spoke with the Daimyo of this area. Katou Junji he called himself. As Akito introduce all three of them, Nakiano followed his example and bowed as an act of decorum. Akito mved to sit and Nakano moved behind him. It was time for business and they would. This man was the client as well, so despite her desire to test him she knew that she shouldn’t.

At long last they came to the inn to meet with this mysterious guest. Nakano somehow ended up being the first to enter. The door clicked open and slowly revealed her in the doorway. She scrutinized the dirty blonde sitting in the room by himself. A forgettable face, if not for the scar running down the left side of his face.More than his face she appreciated his body and eyed him up and down with shameless enjoyment. Tanktops always looked better on men then women and she thought that this fellow wore his well.

”What a beautiful scar, oh, You poor dear - what happened to you? Where have you been?” Nakano asked of Tozoku. She stepped into the room and took a seat. ”What do you say - when business is over how about the two of us go out to have drinks later? Perhaps you’ll let me get a little intimate that scar - I might even be able to do something about it if you want me to.” She let the invite hang there, as she tilted her head waiting for him to answer.

The Hunter Games: Search and Destroy

Akito was the next one in. As Nakano entered, he subtly made the sign of the Snake. The blood vessels in and around his eyes bulged, and the details of his pupils surged into clear relief as his chakra surged in, activating the latent power of his Byakugan.

The only thing in my blind spot is Masayoshi’s head, which means I’m safe.

Akito took in the 359 degrees of the inn he could see. It was strange to see the world this way. The first time he managed it he had vomited immediately, but the intervening 16 years of training had made him used to it. He quickly spied the daimyo’s guest sitting alone at a table, his ninja garb and Suna headband clearly marking him out as a shinobi.

Akito’s expanded field of vision also made the stares from the civilian patrons all the more visible. With a deep breath, he relaxed his eyes and his vision returned to normal. Eyes fixed on the strange shinobi, Akito followed Nakano over. In the few moments it took for Akito to cross the inn floor, Nakano was already talking to him.

I’m worried that she just ran up to him like that. I may need to talk to her about that later. Now, I need to take control of the situation and make sure this goes to our advantage. I also need to keep an eye on her. She’s been ‘sealed’ so to speak such that she won’t harm Konoha or its people, but that may not go for Suna. Although… “poor dear,” “get intimate with that scar,” she may be preparing to extract some information in her preferred way. Or she just fancies the man…

Akito walked up behind Nakano and put a firm hand on her shoulder. There was force behind it, but not enough to harm or even discomfort. In fact, it might be more accurate to call it pressure. Just enough to keep her seated.

This is good. He could be a potential ally on our mission. Worst case: a source of information. Well, worst case an enemy, but that’s less likely. And if that is the case, with one movement I can shift into the Palm Dance Divination stance and free Nakano at the same time. If he runs, I can use Ninpou to apprehend him, or Nakano can utilize her Yamanaka jutsu. But that’s a last resort.

“Try not to scare the man,” Akito said, doing his best to project joviality but remaining inwardly cautious. He raised his left hand in greeting and turned his head to the unknown shinobi. His Suna headband marked him as a friendly at least, if not an outright ally. “Greetings Suna-nin. Given the political situation, I must say I am surprised to see one of you so far afield. ”

Akito leaned back as one of the proprietors passed behind him.

“Sake please,” he entreated, holding up four fingers. He turned back to Tozuko. “My name is Hyuuga Akito, jonin of Konohagakure no Sato. I hear you have something to talk to us about.”
