[Mission] Lost and ...

[Arion]

The sands outside of Suna were a bit more harsh than usual. The wind blew steadily and the sun was out full force. It was a hot one today and things usually got worse around here before they got better. On this day, a peculiar red panda was spotted heading out into the desert. Yes, the desert, even with the news of a possible sandstorm looming. Whatever could have allured the creature to venture forth isn't important, what is is that it is found before it is caught by the oncoming storm. It seemed to have been playing with a ball of some sort when it ran off, not a care in the world on it's face.

[Checkmate]

Myou gasped when she heard the news. An adorable little panda had wandered off into the dessert, not knowing that a sandstorm was on its way. Myou had started off right away, hoping to catch the small thing before it got hurt. She jogged out into the dessert, slipping occasionally on the loose sand. The panda could not have gone too far. It hadn't left too long ago. She looked around for any signs of the pet's path: foot prints, marks in the sand, shedded hair, anything. She would not be able to live with herself if she let the poor thing die.

[Arion]

Myou had the right idea as she searched for clues to help her find the red panda. However, the elements weren't helping. The wind was already picking and with that, things got a heck of a lot harder. Markings and footprints in the sand were harder to see as the blowing wind would cover it up. Still, there was a peculiar something sticking out in the sand a bit further up ahead of Myou. It appeared to be a strand of red fur and it was a bit to the left of the nin. Perhaps the playful creature had headed in that direction?

[Checkmate]

As Myou inspected the ground, she saw a piece of red fur sticking out of the ground. She walked over and bent down to look at it closer. She looked back at the gates, then at the fur, and made a mental line from the gates to the fur. She then bent to the sand and drew a line in the direction that the animal was most likely to take. Once that was done, she began to walk in that direction.

She knew that the animal would not stay in a strait line, and so as she walked, she continued to inspect the sand for any further clues.

[Arion]

Her instincts were right, the animal did not stay in a straight line as it suddenly took a sharp right. The object of it's admiration had been blown by the wind as the red panda took to a small sprint. That didn't last long however as a sudden gust took whatever it was chasing and the sands swallowed it before the creature could see where it had landed. It quickly begun to dig at the sand with it's claws, creating a small hole in which one could possbily stumble over. Not finding anything, Kitsu looked up and realized just where he was now. Feeling somewhat scared, it looked around and then took a light sprint once more, trying to find it's way.

[Checkmate]

Myou continued her inspection of the sand, looking up once in a while to see if she could see the animal. While she was looking up, she stumbled into a hole, twisting her ankle. It hurt, but it was not sprained, and she could still walk on it. She knelt to inspect the hole.

The winds were strong, and such a hole could not have been there for long without getting filled up by sand. She was getting close. She looked around the hole, trying to spot the animal.

[Arion]

She was close alright, such that the furry red panda was within sight. Too bad the panda didn't seem to sense her and kept going... until the wind picked up that is. That, scared the creature and made him stop in his tracks. The sandstorm hit just as expected and the only thing it could do was huddle itself up into a ball and stay put. It was now within reach as the sandstorm blew, making visibility low and movement difficult.

[Checkmate]

Myou saw the poor little thing curl into a ball just as the wind het hard. She rushed over to were the panda should be and began to feel around for the panda. She then began to pet the animal to calm it down. She picked the panda up, holding it against her bosom in an attempt to shield it from the hail of sand. She had been keeping track of where she was in relation to the village, and began to make her way back.

[Arion]

Having recovered the panda, the true onslaught of the sandstorm came. Any markings or tracings on the sand were completely done over. Visibility was zero as one could not keep their eyes open with so much sand flying about. It was wise to find shelter during these storms, but there wasn't much where the two were. They could always pop down and huddle and waited it out, they usually didn't last too long. Then there was always the option of finding their way back blind while walking against the wind.

Myou could see nothing. She knew the way back to the village, but the sand was pelting her skin, and putting holes in her clothes. She decided that the best course of action would be to make herself as small as possible, and protect the panda at the same time. The best way to do this: take a hint from the panda, and roll into a ball. So she did so. She knelt on her knees, and then bent over the panda, trying to keep it safe.

[Arion]

The relentless sandstorm continued. Having taken a more defensive position, so to say, the girl and the panda were rather safe from the onslaught. It didn't take long for the storm to pass though it left heavy sandfall everywhere, the pair having been dusted with sand. With the sandstorm gone, something else emerged. It was a feather, floating in the air. The furry, red panda caught glimpse of it and pushed away from Myou to give chase to it, thinking it was a bird. Apparently, it seemed this was the object it had chased out of the village in the first place.

[Checkmate]

"No!" Myou shouted as she gave chase. The panda had run after something. She created a strand of chakra string, and then flickered over in front of the panda, then attempted to wrapping the rope around the animal like a leash. Then she walked over and grabbed the item of interest and gave it to the panda. She then began walking back toward Suna.
