Kenjiro was called over to the west side of the village. An old house was deemed unsafe to live in and the owners wanted to build a new one. Because of the structural faults they asked if a Ninja could help with it. Someone with “localized destructive power.” That ninja would be Shioya Kenjiro. The clients were less then impressed at the first view of the ninja arriving. A wheelchair bound boy about 16 years old. And he seemed on the scrawny side. As he rolled to the stop, he shown the clients the paperwork and made a motion to the crowd gathered around the building for the demolition. Oddly these things always drew attention. “Ok this is going to be dust. Hope everyone is prepared. We are only doing this once.” Bringing his hands in front of him he made a strange cross shaped symbol with his hands before three more Kenjiro’s appeared and started stretching. The three new ones rolled around to the opposite sides of the building covering all four sides.

Kenjiro a touched his communicator. “Keneb, Kenec, Kened. Lets start with three feet from the top.” The other three shouted Hai through the air as all four of them simultaneously extended a kugutsu sting and brought their rifled tubes to their shoulder. Each of them went in unison spouting through the eight seals and then resting their hands on the tubes. The soft glow of chakra was seen a just as the original Ken shouted out. “Fire!” The other three shouted Oi just before the four Gintama no taihou fired off taking large chunks of the building out and piling it up on the inside. “How’s it look on your ends?”

Keneb was on the north side of the building. Looking through his hole. “I can see sky through the building. They must have had a skylight upstairs.”

Kenec was sitting back in his chairLooking through the hole. “Mine seems to have been a bit shallow. I see the side of the floor.”

Kened had his legs crossed. Clones were always in perfect health since they were made of chakra. “Mine was perfect as ever.”

Ken just shook his head at Kenec and Kened. “Ok guys. Angle down and go for dead center. After this take out right by the ground. The corners will fall into each other and we will have a nice neat pile. I’ll then bring out Kenny to help with the clean up.

The toehr three shook their heads and prepared. They were just going to have a count no more reports. Each of them flew through their hand seals. “Fire!” “Oi!” A split second after the clones responded all four of them released their explosive making large holes that soon gave a view clear through the building. They quickly angled the tubes down and went through the hand seals again. “Fire!” “Oi!” With the final blast the roof caved in around the central support structure. The corners teetered for a bit collapsing in on the support but it didn’t fall. Ken slammed his hand on the arm of his chair before calling out his forth clone. “I’m going need to rain down on it. Throw me the tubes.”

The four clones separated the tubes from the back of their chairs and threw them to the original. Attaching them to his chair, he had one on each shoulder and one on each side. The fifth sitting under his seat poking from between his legs. The four clones then extending their strings bringing him up and over the central support with all five cannons centered on it. Ken went through his seals. The five tubes lit up like flash lights before all five of the Ginatma soared down onto the pillar, turning it into rubble in one swift movement. Ken was the slowly lowered Tot eh top of the pile. “Ok Lets start cleaning it up.” Each of them sent out the chakra strings to lift up rubble and depositing it in the nearby dumpster.

Ken rolled up to the door of the academy class room and braced his hand on the door. With a quick turn of the knob he made a hand seal and a cloud appeared in the doorway before Ken rolled though. He stopped at the desk to the awe of the students in the classroom. “Hey kiddos. You usual instructor is on assignment today. So I’ve been asked to come in and take care of your Ninjutsu pop quiz today.” There was an obvious sound of displeasure from the students. “Now now. It won’t be so bad.. I’ll even make it fun.” Gathering the exam sheets he sent them like small ghost to each of the students. One boy in the front row was the first to raise his hand.

“Shioya-sensei. These exams are blank.”

Ken just nodded. “Yeah. This Quiz is on Jutsu recognition. Your first question is. What jutsu did I use to give you the test.” All the students independently started writing what they thought the answer was. A few took a little longer. When the last of them looked up from the page Ken cleared his throat. “Next. I will use a string of Jutsus. Your question is how many did I use? Oh background info. I am paralyzed from the waist down.”

Ken quickly leapt out of his chair and disappeared in a puff of smoke. As the cloud left, an apple fell in the air. Ken then reappeared grabbing the apple and leaping up to the ceiling. “Ok How many?” There was a small applause at the flurry of techniques before they wrote down the number they thought. Landing back on the floor he sat back in the chair. “Number three.” His hand went through eight hand seals and formed a ball of chakra in his hand. “What form of manipulation is this jutsu?” After they wrote their answers, He causally tossed it out the window with a loud explosion following it.

Ken then turned the chair around and brought up his tube pointing it out the window. “This one is probably the easiest one. What Nature is this jutsu?” A stream of water burst from the tube soaking a passerby. Though in Sunagakure, it was probably a blessing in disguise. He reset the tube and turned back as they finished writing down their answers. The looks on their faces shown they were actually having fun with this. And they were only four questions into this.

“Number Five.” He vanished from view only to reappear in the back of the class. “What Jutsu is that? And Number six is, what is it’s rank?” He rolled down the steps casually as they wrote. The flurry of battle was just like he was in now. They would need to recognize information about jutsus before they hit them. He was giving them more time then they would normally have. “Number 7. What is this?” Biting his thumbs he drew a line of blood across the arms of his chair and his Kikou puppet appeared attached to his chair. “More specifically What jutsu was used to summon it?” The students wrote feverishly to try and keep up at the quickened pace.

He took a break in his chair inside the armor. As they caught up, he thought and grinned. “Number eight. What villages can utilizes the Kugutsu no Jutsu?” This one caught the students by surprise. It was an easy on to tell but none of them thought about techniques telling where the opponent was from. Pop quizes were great because they taught you while testing your knowledge. As they finished writing their answers, Ken rolled the back of the tank to the deck and looked through the window. “Last two questions. Number 9.” Sending the armor back, Ken disappeared in a puff of smoke and came back looking like the sensei he was replacing for the day. “Identify the flaw in this henge.” It was a trick question, he didn’t put a flaw in the henge but it caused them to look hard for one. “And Finally Number ten. What jutsu did I use when I entered this class room?” This one caused them some trouble. He waited for them to finish writing before gathering up the papers. “Well the rest of the class is Shape Manipulation practice outside. Have fun.” The students gatherd up their gear and headed outside for some practice. It seemed all they have gotten thus far was theory. He sat a paperweight on the stack and puffed away in a cloud of smoke. Ken was actually lazy enough to send a Shadow Clone to handle the class as he rested up on the roof.

Ken was just sitting back under a tree in front of the academy. The lazy bastard used Kage Bushin to teach the class he was assigned to. It was a nice easy day. Suddenly, Ken received the information from his clone about what had happened in the class. The class seemed to have fun with the live firing test. And now they were coming out front where he was for ninjutsu practice. As he began preparing for ninjutsu practices his mind latched on to the fact he gained information from his clone. His evil grin became apparent as his fingers crossed to summon out four clones. Each of the clones without the regular chair. “Ok guys. Your mission today is to run around and do things with the lower half of your body.” one of the clones had a look that Ken knew all to well. “That won’t cause me trouble. No Half Human half chakra babies.” With a nod the four clones departed for the various corners of the village just as the students came up to Ken to start practice.

In the northern part of the village, the first Ken clone had his feet, out of his ninja shoes, and buried up to the ankle in sand. His toes wiggling. As a clone he understood the loss that the original had felt, and he was genuinely enjoying feeling sand trickle through his toes with each wiggling. But this wasn’t enough. There was a group of Chuunin going on a jog. Leaping out of the sand, the clone hurried up behind them and started to jog along with them.

Over in the southern part of the village another clone was flying through a series of kicks on a training dummy. Each blow, seemed to get harder and shook the post more. This was something Ken forgot. How much fun it was to get into combat and just mix it up with the opponent. That was the whole reason he developed Kasui and Ken no Chakra. They were to suplement his hands and feet in combat and make surprising killing blows. With a few hand seals, he put a blade of chakra on his feet and started to hack away at the wooden training post. His kicks leaving katana like notches in the wood.

In the western part of the village, his third clone was watching a movie from the back row. Sitting in the front row always hurt his neck looking up. But it was the only place he could sit with his chair. So being able to look forward at a movie and kick his legs up was truly something to appreciate. This movie was one of his favorites. Princess Yaya and the Ninjas of the Snow Capped Peak. It was a comedy more then anything else. They even had a guy dressed up in drag to play the princess. It sure felt nice to just be one of the normal ones in the crowd.

Finally in the western district, the Ken clones was just idly standing around, tilting back and forth on his heels watching as the local kunoichi came to and from the bath house. He occasionally threw out a few whistles or pick up lines to the women. Mainly as a sign of appreciation. He was able to get away with this now because he seemed to be waiting on someone rather then just sitting in a chair camping out the view. This was enough for this clone.

After a few hours, Ninjutsu practice had ended. He taught a few of the students the Practical uses for shape Manipulation. Quite a few of them had a knack for shaping chakra. He would definitely be looking forward to their progress in the future. As they walked back into the classroom. Ken released his jutsu having the clone’s knowledge return to him. He had a small grin as the sensations of legs came back to him. Everythign the clones did flooded his mind. It was paradise.

As Ken rolled into his house after the class was done. He made his way to the bath seemingly happy. There was even a bounce in his bounces up the steps. As he rolled into the bath area, he went to stand up and fell flat on his face on the tiles floor. The impact was hard enough to cause his nose to bleed. It was then the reality of what he had was back to him. The sensations of being able to walk, stand, and do things with his feet. The feeling of being normal. All seemingly vanished. Like a Genjutsu, it was all but memories now. There was no sensation from the waist down. And there wasn’t ever any really for the past three years.

Lying there, face down on the floor, Ken could see the blood beginning to pool up below him. He reached over for a wash rag and started to roughly move himself up into a seated position on the floor. With his head tilted back he closed his eyes. This was what it was like when he first started to adjust to being in a wheel chair. Everything was drastic work. It was either a miss or a near hit. Nothing was ever quick and precise. Everything seemed like strength training at that time. Pushups just to get out of bed. Pull ups to take a seat. Lateral arm squats to move between seats. Flurry thrust just to move. His life for the first two years was nothing but arm movements.

As the bleeding stopped he used his strings on his legs to allow him to stand and take a seat on the bath stool. Kugutsu really was a life changing technique. And the only reason he mastered it so quickly was that he started to use it for everything he could. Even that training puppet had it’s uses in getting things from the top shelf and opening cans. And he currently had it on loan to that girl. As he removed his shirt. He turned on the water to get it warm. The pants and boxers were next. Pouring the suds into his hand, he started to scrub up as another string filled the tub with hot water.

After a generous scrub down with his loofa and back scrubber, He rinsed off by pouring the bucket of water over his head. The strings wrapped around his legs again, allowing him to step into the tub and sit down. The warm water coursed to every pore and soothed every muscle. Even the muscles he couldn’t feel anymore. Sitting in the tub, he felt odd as he always did. It was like he was floating in water, but there was nothing beneath his stomach. No water, no tub, nothing. The soaking wasn’t for comfort like it was for others. It was to ensure circulation continued through his legs and the muscles didn’t die. That was a whole new mess that no one wanted to see. Catheters, Mystical hands in places he didn’t even recognize and more. No thank you.

As he leaned back in the tub to let his Pecs soak some, he spotted the ceiling for all the glory and amazement it gave him today. Hell he stared at it long enough, it should charge by the hour. As he tried to lean down some more so his shoulders could fully soak, he heard a loud pop. Looking back to the water, he saw red start to creep towards him. Lifting his legs quickly, he saw the cause. His small toe on his right foot broke. The bone poking through the skin. With a calm and collected manner he pulled himself out of the tube and over to his chair, wrapping the break in thick gauze. Making a slit in his pants with a kunai, he slipped them on and wheeled himself quickly out of the house and full speed towards the clinic.

Ken was checked into a room quickly and one of the stand by nurses came in. She was a new one that he had yet to deal with. The moment she saw the wound and held back her own vomit, he knew she was new to seeing this level of injury. Calming herself she proceeded to set the bone and repair the flesh first. “Aya. I can’t believe you aren’t freaking out over that. The pain must be unimaginable.” This one was also new to reading charts and patient histories. But she was cute enough he let it slide.

“You could say that. I can’t imagine the pain I must be in down there with that toe. Shioya Kenjiro.”

The nurse looked up and noticed his smile and the name; she blushed and continued to work on the flesh break. “Oh I’m sorry. I didn’t read the chart. I was just told to come in and deal with a break.” She was quick on the flesh tear. She cracked her knuckles and moved her head side to side to loosen it up.

Ken flinched a bit at the sound of cracking knuckles. More at the volume of the sound then the actual sound. “You may want to check your hands first. Think you might have broken a few bones yourself. “

She just shook her head and flew through the hand seals quicker then she did with the skin repair. “Not really. That’s a jutsu of mine. By releasing Nitrogen bubbles in my joints, I can improve my dexterity and produce a wider flow of chakra, which is useful for quickly mending bones.” Her chakra was already flooding the bone and repairing the cracks. “Just let me know if it feels….” She looked up to him and blushed again. “Ooh. Sorry.”

Ken sat back as she worked on fixing his toe. It seemed like she was a bone specialist. Definitely different then Ai. “So what’s your name?” This question caused her to jump a bit and land on her butt on the ground. He offered her a hand to help her back up to her stool. “Didn’t mean to scare you.”

She smiled while focusing on his toe. “Oh it was just some of the rumors I heard about you. I thought you asked an entirely different question. I’m Nishimuraya Yui. Chuunin. I handled the Chuunin exams you were in.”

This caught his interest in two ways. One. The other nurses probably told her some stories about him. And that she was as experienced a Chuunin as he was. Medical Nin were known to have their test by practicing and healing the injured of the exams. Now that he thought about it, she was in his class back in the academy. She was a little wallflower in the back of the class who always studied and never socialized. “Nishimuraya-chan. You look different then you did back in the academy.”

This startled her a bit more. “Oh yeah I forgot we were classmates. You always were in that group of seven. I never did get a chance to talk to you.” She continued her flow on the bone and moved more into a talking position to him. “I saw you that day you saved those kids. That was really brave of you. Some of the Chuunin teaching at the academy was talking about how they would have just let them hit the kids and let them experience what a misused jutsu could do.”

Ken’s hand clenched on the side of the table, quite visibly for Yui. Ken’s mind racing with the images from his dream. The academy closed as all the students were killed. The bloody stain on the ground still there for clean up. “If no one did, more would have been injured then just me.” Ken’s hand felt the gentle touch of the medic’s and his grip loosened.

Yui was just smiling to him. “I know that. You were the best in shape manipulation, even better then the instructor. So if you saw the danger it must have been very present.” She brought her hand back as the jutsu finished. “It was one of the qualities I really liked about you.”

This caused Ken to blush some. “Well maybe next time you are free, perhaps we can go get something o eat together.” Yui just stood up and smiled with a nod before she walked out and grabbed the chart.
