Chakra RopeShow
Chakra Rope
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
A supplementary technique used to create a rope of chakra, this technique begins with a short set of hand seals. Once these have been completed, the user will hold their arms apart and form the rope between them. The rope can be variable lengths to a max of 5 meters in length. The rope has a strength of 5 and was capable of being manipulated by the user’s control at a speed of 5. The chakra rope lasts for a time of four posts.

The young man had been attempting to focus more so upon expanding upon his elemental affinities of late decided to rest his mind and return to his study of other more basic ninjutsu. Today he would be practicing shape manipulation of his chakra as the man thought back a few days prior to an interesting and potentially useful little jutsu of pure chakra that he had read about in the library. The memory was of a shinobi in the book that was demonstrating how to manipulate chakra in its pure form into the shape of a length of rope that was held some resistant to being cut with a normal blade more so than a normal rope. Something that could indeed prove to be useful in certain situations. Slowly the book worm brought his soft looking hands together now and formed a slow and short series of unfamiliar hand seals before bringing both hands slightly apart from one another to just over a foot in length. Controlling the release of chakra the former Suna nin’a bright blue chakra stretched became visible to the naked eyes as it stretched between the palms of each hand now into a rope of chakra just over a foot in length.

That was a good start but you really couldn’t do much with a foot of rope after all so he released the creation allowing for it to simply disappear as quickly as it had appeared now before each hand combined again in the same short series of seals. This time both hand were brought about a meter apart now as he once more focused on shaping the red chakra as he pushed out a bit more than the previous attempt. Just like before the rope began to form stretching between the two hands to just over a meter in length as the young ninja seemed rather pleased with the quick progress. But even a single meter or yard of rope was still almost useless for most types of situations. Bringing his focus back to the rope in hand he release it causing it to dissipate just like the other before moving back into the short series of hand seals only this time with better speed and precision as it became easier. This time though the man attempted to create a much longer section of chakra rope as he pulled both hand apart and forced out his chakra and shaped it with his experience in shape manipulate.

‘Better..’

Zao murmured to word quietly to himself as the rope stretched out nearly three yards in length this time, enough to at least be useful now. Removing a kunai from a holster on his left leg the man tested the rope as the blade itself was not enough to cut the chakra creation with just its sharpness alone and it was able to resist being pulled apart with weak strength. Not bad…

A senbon slowly twirled around the feminine looking fingers of the young man’s right hand, rotating through each of them in an almost fumbling manner before it was caught between the thumb and forefinger. Then with lightning fast speed the long needle was through the thin layer of sand-like mist that swept slowly through the small training area as it barely struck its intended target with less than amazing precision. It was truly apparent that the man was in need of some truly practice before he would be considered even average with this long needles. Yet, senbon was not normally among the man’s arsenal as he preferred to utilize his tenkujutsu abilities over standard physical weapon that could be thrown. Though he also knew that the senbon could be used as an exceptional tool if properly utilized by someone with the ability of proficiency in throwing precision. But the technique he was about to practice was a little different…one that wouldn’t rely so much on his throwing technique and strength.

‘Here we go…’

Instead of throwing the weapons the jutsu he was learning from the images and text of a small book that he had borrowed from another member of the Scribes, the words and pictures described a method through which summoned the needles into the users mouth from a nearby location from where they could be spat out in a surprise style of attack or when one would not be able to complete a throwing motion. His hands rapid moved through a series of practiced seals before the man channeled chakra to the single loose senbon that lay on the messy paper covered desk he was seated at and in his mouth as well. Then following the directions attempted to summon the single needle to his mouth and tried to spit it. Though instead the man almost choked on the long needle as he reached up and pulled the needle from within his mouth with the left hand and tossed it on the ground. A bit pissed off the man looked back over the text seeing if there was something he missed before turning the page. Scribbled in the side of one of the pages was a small note hand written by someone who had used the book before that you had to spit the senbon the instant it was summoned as to not do what he had just done to himself, it needed to be fluid.

Shaking his head lightly the young man tried again forming the hand seals quickly and focusing his chakra on the needles and his mouth simultaneously in order to summon another single senbon to his mouth. This time he took the young man’s advice and it seemed to work. The weapon shot out of his mouth but only about three feet this time and was still off on its accuracy. This was going to take a minute. About two hours later the spirit tamer could still be found training as he formed hand seals and focused his chakra to summon three senbon to his mouth this time. As each was summoned he spit them out almost effortlessly know as he also moved his head to the side just a little with each summoned needle as it shot forth hitting each target, each being ten meters away. Their power and speed truly weren’t impressive by any means but the weapon was never truly used for their power after all either.

Zao had always had above average control over his chakra, even from a young age under the tutelage of his master which had been one of the reasons the old man had taught the younger self of him tenkujutsu and fuuinjutsu. So it wasn’t hard for the former Suna jounin to form a small two inch ball of chakra just above the palm of his left hand, which he did after only a couple moments of channeling his chakra into the left hand did a ball of bright blue chakra take shape and solidify itself into this world. Gently the man then controlled the cyan orb to leave the palm of his hand and had it travel in a circle around the room in which he sat alone as to ensure he didn’t get distracted by other matters or people. It took about fifteen seconds for the sphere to complete its loop and slowly return to its former position just above the palm of the young looking, silver haired man who looked more like a monk of some kind than a shinobi.

His set of lovely bright blue eyes stared at the orb, chakra was a magical thing and the things that it could do were almost endless. But there was truly nothing special about the orb of chakra that he had simply manifested and it soon dissipated as quickly as it had come and the man lowered his eyes back onto the notes on his small journal. The small section of notes had been what he had taken from reading a few books on how to transform the normal nature of chakra into something a bit more interesting, by interesting he meant explosive. Its concept wasn’t very different from the way he had manipulated it moments before not as he began to transfer chakra back into the palm of the left hand, only this time he controlled the construction of the outside of the sphere while at the same time giving the interior chakra a more chaotic nature. Taking a few more seconds to form then the last time he then controlled the technique to a few yards away and formed a single hand seal and sent his will into the attack.

This action caused for the technique to actually explode, though the force was rather unimpressive at only half and explosive note worth of force now but it was enough to cause a slight smile to pass across the man’s lips now. Just from this simple test the man knew that the explosive force could easily be doubled with a little bit of effort…it would be at least the same explosive power as a explosive note by the end of the day…

Chakra was able to do a number of things, from channeling it into a naturally existing element or even using it to create an element from nothing like done with a katon style of jutsu. But Zao was more interested in what it could do to enhance the natural body of a person. Some people were able to utilize it to strength their strikes or to enhance the speed of maneuverability of their bodies, all of which could be found in the notes in Zao’s personal journey/notebook that he almost always carried with him. It was a series of organized noted that he had taken from different books and interviews with different shinobi’s within the Sand village. Not having been able to expand his traveled to far outside of the village itself due to the sheer amount of knowledge that could already be found here and also many people weren’t comfortable talking to an outsider either. Compiling this information he then had set himself on a course to properly manifest his chakra into each of his senses in order to improve them, if only slightly, in one way or another.

The first and most obvious, in his opinion, was to find a manner in which to improve his vision, he flowed his chakra gently into his bright blue eyes which caused for them to appear to almost glow with the cyan chakra that now embodied them at this moment. Closing his eyes for a moment the man steadied his breathing and made sure not to go too far to fast with this as the eyes were a very sensitive and easily damaged sense thus he didn’t wish to injury them in any way. Slowly opening his eyes now he began to very slightly increase the chakra being channeled into them, which at first didn’t really cause any sort of different in vision to the young man. But Zao had been taught about patience and perseverance from a young age from his old mentor so this simple result didn’t appear to phase the former shinobi in the least now. Just like before a slight increase in the channeled chakra came again now as he felt a slight shift in the vision which at first caused the man’s vision to become slightly blurry before the eyes were able to focus again and there was actually a slight improvement.

It was truly only about a foot’s increase in range, causing him to be able to see things more clearly from a very slight distance more than normal, but of course this was the lowest level of chakra flow. Even with this promising result the man would continue to push forward at a slow, methodical pace to ensure that he didn’t become overzealous and somehow end up injuring his eye sight. Two days later the man had been able to reach what he felt was the max results, that being able to read words from up to ten meters away as though he was holding the book right in front of him like he normally would…

Compiling this information he then had set himself on a course to properly manifest his chakra into each of his senses in order to improve them, if only slightly, in one way or another.

He had just recently found great success with improving his vision, but now he was going to work on another sense, that being hearing. He planned on utilizing the same manner as he did in probing his vision now as he flowed his chakra gently into just his right ear now, feeling that working with a single ear would be best for now. Closing his eyes for a moment the man steadied his breathing and made sure to follow the same procedure of slow and steady wins the race to ensure that he didn’t damaged the delicate parts of the ear in any way. Slowly opening his eyes now he began to very slightly increase the chakra being channeled into the single ear, which caused for a faint ringing sound to be heard soon after which had the man twist his head to the left slightly out of a simple reaction to the new sound. Stopping the chakra flow he allowed everything to return to normal and the sound soon faded before Zao once again began to try once again. This time the ringing noise didn’t resurface and he let out a slight of relieve and gently began to push the boundary of his sense of hearing now, as the faint clicking sound now began to filter into the right ear. It was a sound that he knew as soon as he heard it, the sound originated from a small clock that hung on the wall across the room from him.

Zao had specifically moved to this side of the room to get away from the obnoxiously loud cloak, only to ironically have it be the first thing that he heard once more after pushing the limits of his hearing just slightly. A faint chuckle escaped the man’s lips as he slowly stopped the flow of chakra again and decided that he needed to move to another place that was a little more quiet to continue but he could definitely see the possibilities and the uses if he could continue to improve the technique little by little...

Having spent a number of hours coming through the library in the section that was devoted to the manipulation of chakra itself which aside from studying in-depth about spirits came in third on the man’s top three favorite things to research. Perhaps he was a little bit weird in the fact that he enjoyed actually reaching and researching into things like that? Though he didn’t think that of himself at all now as he climbed up a rather sketching looking wooden ladder that creaked and sounded like the wooden rungs had a high chance of breaking at any moment of the thin man’s light weight. Luck appeared to be on his side as he didn’t break the rungs of the ladder and successfully pulled another two books from the very top of the dust covered bookshelf that was nearly twelve feet in the air. This book in particular was one that dealt with some different ideas and techniques on how chakra could be used to assist in missions of stealth or reconnaissance or even types of spying activates. There really wasn’t any high chances of the man actually doing any of these type of missions considering the fact that he currently was not a shinobi but it was simply because they had peaked his interest.

Taking a seat the man began to thumb carefully through the book until he came to a simple but seemingly super useful little technique that required a decent bit of control of ones chakra. This was a technique right up the young man’s alley and more importantly if successful it was capable of opening a variety of locks that weren’t protected through fuuinjutsu enhancement or other special means. There was only one thing to do and that was to start practicing it as he stood up and moved to the door that was on the other side of the room. A series of hand seals were formed slowly, due to them being a sequence that he wasn’t familiar with, before he then gently placed his finger against the key hole. This was the part of the technique which rested firmly on the user as anyone could form a string of hand seals but how precisely one was able to manipulate their own chakra and their knowledge of locks came into play. Zao had read some books on locks so he had a basic understanding of them as he controlled the small mass of chakra that seeped into the lock. It ended up taking quite a few more tries then he had initially expected, fifteen to be exact, before he was able to actually unlock the simple locking mechanism of the door. Having high control of his chakra was just half the equation as he now needed to do some research onto different type of locks and mechanisms to ensure that in the future this tool in his tool box would really be able to shine.

The sound of kunai slamming into their targets, or near them, could be heard echoing through the sandy training area as the spirit puppeteer moved through a series of obstacle courses set up to test accuracy and decision making with each throw. Something that he was truly uncomfortable doing and but knew that it was definitely one of his weakest points aside from a direct confrontation. After a few minutes the impacts seemed to stop as a young looking white haired man came to a sliding stop now in the sand as every holster on the man appeared to be empty. There was the slightest of smirks worn upon on the man’s seemingly ordinary look face as he shifted his eyes onto each of the targets insight that were visible through the sand which was tossed around in small dust twisters by the wind.

It would appear that the shinobi was completely out of weapons, which was the truth but of the weapons that now were scattered across a series of eight targets the hot desert wind caused for the explosive tags hanging from a number of the weapons to sway back and forth now. This had been a sort of dual training session which allowed for him to attempt to work on his rather horrendous accuracy with through weapons and also for him to test out another technique that he had been studying up on. That being the Multiple Chakra Kai, a technique that allowed for an experienced user of the technique to activate up to five separate objects simultaneously with one another. Such a technique had great functionality with such items as expoding tags but the man was learning it for another reason as well. Mainly for his realm summoning techniques which required normally four tags to be placed to form a ‘barrier’ once they were activated together.

Forming the single hand seal for the basic chakra kai technique the man then began to weave addition hand seals, splitting his attention between two separate exploding tags that were within a few meters of each other. Then he finished the last hand seal and directed his chakra into both seals now which caused for both to simultaneously explode as dust and a small amount of debris was thrown asunder around their general area. Success! Next the man attempted to step up his game and once again formed the same set of hand seals before focusing on a series of four separate tags within the general area of each other. Then he attempted to send his chakra into each tag which was followed with a series of only three small explosions now.

“That was easier than I thought it was going to be…but looks like I need just a bit more work.”

The former Suna ninja sat thumbing through a series of notes in his personal journal which had become rather worn looking around the edges of its pages, it held notes on his previous achievements in enhancing two of his senses and developing a few offensive attacks alone with improving his utilization of multiple chakra tags. But today his mission was a little different as he was working through a chakra manipulation manual as he was studying the nature of barriers mainly and how they were capable of being utilized not only as a defensive measure but also to protect others or even to bind targets depending on the strength of the barrier in question. The ordinary looking white haired man was currently rubbing his chin now as he extended the right hand palm up out before him above the desk which he was seated. Chakra gently flowed into the palm of the hand and then formed into a slightly curved piece of chakra above a foot wide by a foot tall, truly one of the simplest forms of a barrier or shield.

Zao didn’t stop there as he continued to mold the chakra now as it slowly began to gain straighter edges now forming a single plane construct, then a top and sides began to form in a box like shape now before lastly the bottom of the barrier slowly formed. In the end the small 1x1x1 cube of chakra seemed to float in the air just above the man’s soft looking hand. Bringing his left hand from his face the man lifted it into the air and then brought both palms together to test the strength of the cube of chakra only to find that it was at most only capable of withstanding strikes of four or five strength. While it was a little bit of a letdown the scholar also understood that this was truly just the basic product of what he could accomplish with a bit of effort on his own part. Resting for a few moments he then began again as the cube formed more quickly this time as he knew the feeling of how the chakra needed to be manipulated a bit better this time around. Not only was it easier to form then the previous attempt but it was also around double the size at 2^3 feet but the strength was found to be rather similar.

The attempts continued into the evening before he found himself rather drained from attempting the technique over ten times and decided that a rest and a fresh mind was the best thing he could do. In the blink of an eye it had already been four days now as the man stood outside in the courtyard of his own building up chakra through his body before then releasing it in each direction simultaneously as a 5^3 meter barrier was formed in just a few seconds worth of time. Despite this success he knew that he had still not reached the true limit of this simple technique, there had to be just a little more room for improvement the bit of perfectionist within the former shinobi whispered to him…

B-Ranked Ninjutsu
Channeling chakra into their hands, the user then puts both hands out forward and from both palms a basketball sized beam two meters in length of pure chakra shoots forward. The beam moves under the control of the user to a maximum distance of 25 meters away from the user at a speed of 20. Upon the user willing it or the technique impacting something the chakra beam will explode with the force of a B-Rank explosion.

The white haired former shinobi once more found himself thumbing through thick book that was literally close to four inches in thickness which taking the time to make annotations in his personal journal which still had its rather worn looking appearance around the edges of its pages, the man was in the mists of developing a new offensive attack. Something that he lacked outside of his realm summoning abilities which he had spent most of his career as a shinobi working on perfecting. His experiences with his exploding orb and barrier technique had allowed for the man to truly expand his mind on the possibilities of what he would be able to accomplish with just his chakra alone. Raw chakra was a truly powerful weapon that when used by those with the right amount of control was capable of truly destructive things, according to the text books anyways, which was the result that the young man wished to accomplish. After about another half an hour of researching through the thick ass book the man stood up and tucked away his journal and headed outside, the technique he wished to develop would have great potential to destroy whatever its target might be.

It took about ten minutes to walk to the nearby training area which was rather empty despite it being a rather nice day out for the village’s location in the middle of a desert. The man stood quietly without moving as both of his blue eyes disappeared for a few moments, he was visualizing the previously mentioned technique that he had mastered so far and the ways in which he had learned to manipulate his chakra that he hadn’t even previously thought about. After the brief pause to focus both eyes snapped open now as he brought each hand out in front of him with the palms facing one another, with that he began to channel chakra into each palm before then forcibly attempting to combine the chakra to create a stronger version of his bursting chakra orb. Slowly the orb began to swirl and take shape between the hands before his eyes suddenly widen and he used his control and arm strength both to toss the orb away as it began to rapidly destabilize. It made it about five meter away before a powerful c-ranked explosion rocked the young man as he attempted to move away.

The shinobi had made a slight miscalculation in the technique’s creation by creating to chaotic of a core without enough chakra surrounding the core in order to create that yin and yang type of relationship between the two types of chakra which allowed for it to be stable enough to not blow up in the user’s face. Luckily only some sand, dirt, and a few black marks on his clothing was the end result of the failed attempt…but one could stay that was the best one could have wished for with such an experience. Laughing lightly to himself the man pulled out his little notebook and a small pen and jotted down a few thoughts that he had from the failed test and some possible solutions. Nodding quietly to himself the book and writing utensil was tucked away once more and both hands rose up in front of his chest now as he began the process over again with more emphasis on containing the more violent chakra.

The hands seemed to press together slight aiding in the controlling of the chakra as he moved it to one side and began to increase the rotation slightly to find out that the simple increase in rotation seemed to have a balancing effect on the technique which allowed for him to build up a bit more chakra then the previous attempt. Giving the technique about another five seconds of buildup time the man brought the hand from where they had been pulled back to his right side and then thrust them out forward to a fully extended posture. As the technique left the hands traveling a few meters the eight inch sized orb quickly expanded to a meter sized beam of pure chakra as Zao struggled to control its movements in guiding it away from his current position and toward a nearby wooden log target. While he was unsuccessfully in hitting the target the attack exploded as it should have with a force somewhere between a c-rank and a b-rank explosion. It would take some time to truly master the control aspect of the technique while also trying to squeeze out as much explosive power as he could with the technique in its current state. But he was a patient man who was driven to succeed.

Inside the man’s personal courtyard if one was to look over the six meter all walls they would be able to see an addition four meters of bright blue chakra that was in the shape of the top of a cube that extended down behind the walls themselves, within the very center of the barrier of chakra was a young white haired man and the owner of the home. He was seated in the lotus position with his eyes closed focused on maintaining the barrier while searching for insight into improving the barrier, seeking to improve both the size and defensive strength of the barrier. After a few moments passed the barrier seemed to grow dimmer before finally dissipating completely from site and the seated young man finally opened his bright blue eyes that seemed to be the same hue as the chakra of his previous barrier. Their appeared to be a look of almost sharpness the man seemed to nod quietly to himself now and brought his hands together in a hand seal to up in in concentrating his chakra now as he began to build up chakra preparing to utilize his simple barrier technique again now only he continued to build up past the point that he needed to full manifest the chakra barrier. Exhaling slowly now the former jounin expanded chakra outwards from his body in every direction as the barrier seemed to begin to materialize from thin air now into a barrier of similar size and shape to the one from just a few minutes before.

Only this time after it reached the same size it didn’t stop growing and instead continued to slowly increase in size bit by bit from ten meters to eleven meters as it only seemed to continue as Zao manipulated and circulated more chakra through his body and into the barrier that he was controlling. Now it was up to thirteen meters and growing as the man began to strain a bit with holding the control over the barrier and the amount of chakra that it was taking to push it to the next level. A bit more, yes the man felt that he could still push his limit just a bit more as the barrier finally ceased increasing in size now as the massive cube shaped barrier as at a very impressive fifteen meters cubed. Which was about a fifty percent increase over the previous limit which he had established when he had first developed the simple barrier technique only a few weeks ago, but just increasing the size of the barrier didn’t really mean anything as just having the chakra to do so was all that was really required.

No, even though he had managed to increase its physical size the actual strength of the barrier itself had remained more or less about the same honestly as increasing the power of the barrier required not only an increase in chakra but something more. That something more was the amount of chakra that could be controlled and lastly compressed into the sides of the barrier while still maintaining control over the shape and size. Truly not easy feats to accomplish without a lot of time and sweat, but great accomplishments were almost never easy after all. Relaxing his hands the barrier seemed to maintain itself for about twenty seconds before dissipating completely like before. Now he knew the feeling of how the chakra needed to be manipulated to create the increase in size and now he only needed to increase the control of compressing the chakra into the outside of the barrier in order to increase its strength. His main focus for this was to increase the strength of the barrier while sacrificing a bit of the speed in creating it, feeling that the little bit of extra strength would be worth the extra time needed to fully erect the barrier.

Sweat began to bead up on the man’s forehead, glistening slightly in the bright sun lit court yard as he focused on compressing the chakra more this time as well as building up addition chakra before then releasing it around himself. The creation of the barrier happened faster then the first time but it was still a bit slow to the liking of the creator though he accepted the results as he could tell that as the barrier finally finished completely that it was indeed much stronger than his earlier creation easily….

Shadow CloneShow
*[Ninjutsu • Shadow Clone Technique]
B-Ranked Ninjutsu
After performing the correct hand seals the user proceeds to create a number of clones of themselves (maximum is equal to 1/3rd the users stamina). Unlike the Clone Technique, these clones are actual copies of the user in both appearance and substance. The user's chakra is evenly distributed among every clone, giving each clone an equal fraction of the user's overall power. The clones are capable of performing jutsu on their own and can even bleed, but they will usually disperse after one or two solid blows. The clones will be created in roughly the same condition as the original and any experience the clones gain during their existence is transferred to the user once they are dispersed. Given that the clones are an exact replica of the user, they share the same stats except for stamina, which is determined by the number of clones presently in effect.

Quietly the young man sat alone at his home, a small scroll inside his palm of his left hand as the right hand gently clutched a small cup of tea that he was slowly sipping away at without taking his eyes off the short but thick scroll. Within was a technique that some considered to be forbidden, but it was a technique that was able to create an exact duplicate of the user using chakra. The man had seen others accomplish this this through the use an element clone before, but this jutsu was on a completely different level. Placing his tea cup down the man also put the scroll down before him and then used the chakra release to open the seal placed upon it. Letting just the fingertips of the left hand touch the scroll and with a flick the wrist the scroll was rolled open just over a meter or so revealing rows and rows of kanji that Zao began to read and comprehend the meaning behind the words.

A small candle’s flame on a nearby patio table flickered as the minutes had turned into hours, the scroll had nearly been unrolled completely now as the man’s right hand scratched at his chin pondering the scroll’s contents in full now and looking over at his worn notebook and the notes he had been placing in it this whole time. Being able to produce a completely identical clone in both strength and ability by dividing his chakra evenly among the clone or clones created. This was a much stronger version of any clone technique he had researched up to this point. But mastering such a technique required considerable control to evenly distribute ones chakra to the shadow clone and that in itself carried some risk. Using it while to low on chakra would probably only make things go from bad to worse in a hurry but creating a shadow clone at the start of a fight only to lose it early on would be a considerable amount of chakra that one would have lost. It was a technique that would have to be used with caution and strategy in mind.

Finally a grin forming upon his lips, this would be interesting indeed the young man thought quietly to himself. But the thought of sacrificing so much of his chakra pool for the technique did make him a bit hesitant for a moment. Yet, it couldn’t be helped as the man manipulated his hands into the unique hand seal used by the shadow clone technique. Closing both bright blue hue eyes the man began to create and manipulate his chakra, more or less attempting to divide the mass into two equal halves. ‘Shadow clone jutsu..’ The man then pushed the half of his chakra forming it into the shape of a clone setting in the exact position next to him and with this molding of chakra a poof of chakra smoke exploded from seemingly nowhere.

Though the clone was unstable and disappeared as soon as it had appeared, a costly mistake as it was a large waste of chakra on a complete failure. Exhaling slowly the man tried again and the result was the same, it only seemed to last for maybe a second longer as he shook his head slightly. Several minutes later the man could be seen in the dimly lit court yard seemingly exhausted as sweat dripped down off his chin, over using this technique even if it wasn’t the completed version rapidly took its toll. Letting both hands fall to the ground the man then let his body fall back gently onto the ground as well exhaling slowly as it had appeared that he had shown little progress so far. He had to control the manipulation and condensing of his chakra to a much greater extent it would seem.

Silently the man in his exhausted state close his blue eyes once more, only they would not reopen for some time as the former jounin fell asleep. The gentle rays of morning sunlight felt warm upon his face as the young man’s eyes fluttered slightly before both eyes opened seeming to almost glow in the morning sun as they shifted toward the warmth and then rolled the opposite way onto his side and then slowly into a seated position. Without a word the man reached over and poured a little of the left over cold tea into his cup and brought it to his lips, its wasn’t very good but it did aid the man in clearing his grogginess. Enough to put a smirk on the man’s face as his eyes adjusted back down to the still open scroll that stretched several meters long and discussed in detail the shadow clone technique.

A determined look could be seen in the man’s eyes as he began to read over the details of the technique and the proper manner to learn the technique, it was a technique known mainly to more advanced ninja for the risks that came with using it. Setting down the empty cup the man continues to glance over the notes that he also made and took the time to recall each attempt and what had yielded better results from the night before. He would finish this technique today, he hoped. Slowly the man stood up as his eyes narrowed a bit, a sign of him focusing on the task at hand as he first brought his hands together forming a single seal to concentrate his chakra now. Dumping this amount of chakra into a technique was still a strange feeling for the older shinobi as he summoned forth the chakra and using much more precise control he began to divide it in half. This came much easier than the day before as both hands formed the unique seal for the shadow clone technique as he pushed the chakra for the technique directly off to his right side causing and explosion of chakra smoke.

‘Shadow clone jutsu.’

The smoke cleared slowly to reveal an almost perfect clone of himself emerging from the white cloud, as it even was still holding the shadow clone hand seal. Each Zao turned its head slowly as the real one nodded to the fake and it drew back and delivered a strong blow to his face causing him to stumble back a bit. Good enough for the moment…he thought to himself as the clone dispersed no longer able to hold its form. It would take more time to perfect the technique but he believed that it would pay off greatly for him later on down the road.

After performing the correct hand seals the user will cause their hair to rapidly grow and cocoon their body for protection. The hair does this at a speed of 20, and when done, will have formed thick layers of rigid hair to protect the user from attacks of 20 and less strength. Upon completely cocooning the user, the hair disconnects from the user's hair, leaving it at it's original length. The hair of the cocoon is chakra infused, providing immunity to electricity, this lasts for up to four posts.

The afternoon sun loomed over head, as found himself outside on this rather unusually warm day as he had shed his long sleeve upper kimono top but one could still see the small droplets of sweat forming upon his forehead from the heat. Before him was a jutsu scroll, given to him by a longtime acquaintance, the scroll was rolled out a couple meters in length and the written and explanation made the man raise the left eyebrow slightly. It was a technique that was mainly defensive in nature but held some offensive potential in its use if utilized properly, but more so it was a one of the man’s acquaintance’s techniques. It used one’s own hair that after combining it with the proper amount of chakra and control allowed for it to grow in length and very take on a very dense nature as it was wrapped in layers around the users for a short period of time.

‘This is…I see…so this is called the Underworld Guardian Spikes…’

His companion had been very proud of this and other hair related techniques that he had perfected over the years as they fought and grown side-by-side as young shinobi. Silently the man’s eyes would linger across the words written within the scroll as he came to the hand seals, letting his almost feminine looking hands slowly move through the predetermined series of hand signs as he began to familiarize himself with them before actually attempting the technique itself. After getting a decent grasp on the hand seals the man read deeper into the scroll as it began to describe in detail the style of chakra manipulation required along with the level of control needed. While on paper the technique appeared very doable it was not a style of ninjutsu the man had tried before, but that wasn’t something the former suna ninja would allow to stop him.

Slowly the young man rose from the ground, using his right hand as an aid to lift his long body up enough to get a leg under himself and then stood up completely. Shifting his feet so that they were shoulder width apart it was time to begin as he brought both bare hands up and together. Carefully moving through the series of hand seals that they had been methodically practicing a few minutes earlier, yet he stopped. A wrong hand seal…the corner of the man’s mouth seemed to push to the side at the simple mistake as the man rest himself and brought the hands together a second time. Forming the hand seals at a leisurely pace for the time being, Zao ensured that they would end up as close perfect this time as he could make them. Upon completion of the seals the man then began to form and manipulate a decent amount of chakra into the back of his hair firstly that would then spread all the way to the tip of each hair on the man’s head.

As this chakra finished flowing over the silver locks they began to grow, but only a few inches as the somewhat spikey looking hair now draped itself down over the older man’s blue eyes completely hiding then from view for a moment and nearly ending up down past his chin. After that moment the Kiri-nin released the technique and the extra length of hair that had formed momentarily then began to fall loose leaving the original strands of hair from before. It was actually a better start then he had expected from the technique, having never attempted this style of ninjutsu manipulation…with this kind of start he believed that he could master this technique in only a few days’ time. Mastering a technique was something that Zao put every ounce of energy and spare time into and this technique was no different from when he was developing his pure chakra based techniques or his Tenkujutsu.

It was two days later, the man stood in the same place as before only today the scorching sun was no were to be found as a mess of clouds actually cluttered the sky on this. But it was a welcome change from the young man as a set of soft looking hands moved through a series of hand seals that had become ingrained within his memory after the hours and hours of practice over the past two days. Yet, the results were not quite up to par for the man. Finishing the hand seals and allowing his chakra to quickly spread to the man’s hair as it began to grow rapidly pushing out from his head now. Spiraling around the body twice as it descended almost completely to the ground, a much more impressive attempt then a mere couple inches a few days ago.

‘This is going to take more time than I thought, especially with the work load I have recently received. Damn it.’

The days past as the scholar continued to practice the technique whenever he found himself with time and solitude to do so, as just over a week later the man finally returned to his court yard. He didn’t hesitate any as he formed the series of hand seals now at the same speed he did for his other ninjutsu in combat, practice really did make for perfection, even the speed of the chakra manipulation and concentration only seemed to take moments now as well. With the use of this technique it needed to be done as soon as possible as it was more of a defensive style technique that would be useless if he couldn’t pull it off in time after all. It was then that his medium length silver hair rapidly grew with great speed as it elongated and spiraled down around his body and then continued to grow as it moved back up the body forming a set of layers of dense chakra reinforced hair.

‘This is it!’

Only a small slit allowed for the man to look out onto the dust world of sand filled wind with bright blue hue eyes from within the darkness of the mass of spikey hair, it was almost identical to that of his comrade’s technique which made the man’s unseen lips almost smile. Releasing the technique all the long lengths of hair seemed to go limp at first before falling loose from one another and the man as well, floating off into the breeze. Shaking his head and body lightly off a final few lingering strands of hair shook loose and fell as well now…

Greater ConcealmentShow
[Ninjutsu • Greater Concealment]
A-Ranked Ninjutsu
After channeling chakra throughout his body the user is able to turn their body completely invisible and allowing user to hide their chakra signature against up to A-rank sensory techniques without the need to limit their movement speed. This lasts for up to six posts before fading.

Deep within the recesses of a library that had been closed down for at least a few years by just judging the amount of dust and scattered debris, there was a young silver haired man whom was slowly coming through the thousands and thousands of books titles listed upon the spines of the books while every now and then the man would pull one out to thumb through its pages as he appeared to be looking for something in particular. Though that something in particular seemed rather elusive now as minutes had turned into over two hours as he moved from one section of books through a set of divider doors finding a room with shelves of scrolls now causing his eyes to light up slight now as he lifted the lantern that he held in his left hand now. Moving between the series of scroll he activated the lights for the room as they slowly began to hum to life illuminating the twenty meter by thirty meter room as it revealed more books and scrolls then had thought would be here.

“Yes!”

Each of the shelves had some form of label to help designate what type of material could be found on the shelves for the series of scrolls and/or books upon the nearly ceiling high shelving units, it was after around hour of searching through the various piles of scrolls that he finally spoke aloud. Though it was a single words the excitement in his voice for that brief moment was unmistakable now as he moved to a small table nearby taking a seat without bothering to even knock the dust and dirt from its table top and started to unroll the scroll now. A half smile appeared as the left corner of Zao’s lips lifted upwards now and the worn notebook appeared within his unused hand now along with a small black pen that instantly started to jot down some notes as he began to rifle through the kanji written on the scroll. The scroll contained an intermediate level invisibility technique, something that the young man was desperate to find as he was about to start his own personal quest and he needed to increase the arsenal of utility techniques to help prepare him for anything that might end up in his path.

The technique in the scroll was simply known as Lesser Concealment, it focused on manipulating chakra in an entirely different way than Zao had ever used it in order to completely coat their extremity of the body in a modified type of chakra that would perfectly conceal the user from sight and sensory techniques. After about two hours’ worth of time the man put down the scroll and his pen before looking back over the six pages of notes that he had created in the process of reading the scroll from beginning to end now. Then he began to concentrate on how the chakra had been described in the technique template as he first held up his left hand and slowly began to alter the type of chakra. He was a man who had great control over his chakra he could instantly notice that this was a different feeling than before as the fingers of the hand were the first to become completely enveloped by this altered chakra. Then ever so slowly the fingertips of each finger back to fade from sight as though they were disappearing from space itself now as they started to become invisible and slowly the entire hand followed suit.

But that appeared to be the limit as he tried to do both hands right afterwards only to find that he was only able to get the fingers of each to turn invisible, it was definitely a that would require the user to become intimately familiar with this altered chakra state before they would be able to truly succeed in. Two weeks passed as the man stood atop the roof of his home bringing both hands together to help him concentrate before molding and channeling the altered chakra through the entirety of his body now. Slowly the body completely faded becoming invisible to the naked and even equal level sensory techniques as well, a welcome surprise as he began to move, moving around he confirmed what he had already discovered that he wasn’t able to move at full speed because it became too difficult to maintain the control over the technique…but such a technique was developed for sneaking around anyways…

*[Ninjutsu • Advanced Shadow Clone Technique]
A-Ranked Ninjutsu
After performing the correct hand seals the user proceeds to create a number of clones of themselves (maximum is equal to 1/3rd the user's stamina). The advantage of this form of the technique is that once dispersed, the chakra distributed to the clones returns to the user, allowing any un-used chakra to be regained, slowing the draining usage of this technique. The chakra returns to the user at a different rate depending on the user's control.

The ‘Shadow clone technique’, what a jutsu it was. But it was such a taxing ability and the young man had been pondering if there was a way around how chakra expensive it could be. Darkness was slowly begun overtaking the Hidden Sand village as the sun slowly began to creep over the western horizon of the grand desert that surround the man’s homeland. With Zao’s black and white clad attire the man seemed to be partially swallowed up by the fast approaching shadows and darkness as he stood atop his home as he watched with bright blue eyes appeared to almost glow as the man appeared to have been waiting for the sun to descend before beginning the training he had in store for today. Leaping off the flat rooftop of his two story living area the man landed with almost no sound as the tenkujutsu specialist headed for one of the smaller training areas that were scattered within the village near area in which he resided. Zao was an intelligent man and had several ideas running through his head about how he planned to go about countering the drain of the shadow clones. But in the end they were all just theories and random ideas that were being thrown about.

His walk wasn’t too long, only about ten minutes before he lifted the right hand to a small gate that was latched shut before with a simple unlatching of the gate’s sliding pin it was pushed open and the young man moved into a narrow walkway that had six to seven foot walls on either side of him. Quietly he continued to move after shutting the gate behind him, off to the left the man could see a break in the walls and a few more past the first. Like his normal self the man always tried to put as much distance between himself and anyone that might possible be out tonight training, pushing all the way to the last opening that revealed a small fifteen meter by twenty meter range. A few benches and tables could be seen along the left side as he entered there were a few distant targets with several closer ones, even a few large training logs for the taijutsu guys as well. It was a pretty evenly rounded area with some ninja tools and various standard weapons stored away in a series of boxes and shelving on the right side of the area just as you walk in.

Though the type of training the older man planned to do today didn’t really involve any of the above, which was indeed strange for the man. Yet, this type of training would be no less important than any of the others that had come before it and could potentially be more beneficial and many of the other techniques that he had learned in arenas just like this one that the man had spent a good deal of his life training away in. The first theory the man had kicked around in his head was that one could try limiting how much of chakra was given to each clone, but then when he thought back to the intense training sessions where the man was learning to use the technique. He could recall that not evenly distributing the chakra only resulted in a wasted effort as the clone didn’t form correct and was a bit unstable to the point that it could disperse even without a direct hit or from lacking enough chakra to truly do anything productive in a combat based scenario. But there had to be a way to alter that shadow clone in order to either reduce the cost which didn’t seem too probable at the moment or devise a change to the clone that would return the unused chakra back to the creator after it dispersed or was destroyed. The latter seemed to be the more logical and probable answer to what the man was seeking to discover…that discover would begin today. Not seeing any reason to waste more time now that nightfall had truly taken its full grasp of the village it would be easier for him to train without any disruptions and without addition eyes falling upon either as well.

Both woman-like soft hands meshed together, forming the notorious hand seal for the famed shadow clone technique as it seemed to be instantaneous that to his left side a cloud of chakra smoke rapid expanded to just larger than himself. Out from the cloud stepped the perfect copy of Zao, able to use all his technique and abilities as it even had the man’s realm summoning abilities. Blue eyes turned to meet the same eyes from the clone that turned to look at its creator; both the man and the clone studied the problem looking for a solution. It most likely would be derived from how the chakra was manipulated to form the clone, it needed to be focused in such a way that it didn’t affect the creation of the clones or their ability to utilize the chakra they had been given for jutsu, but to create the desired effect of the chakra returning back to the user afterwards. Given that the man would most likely only be able to discover it through several attempts of trial and error the man formed the hand seal once more and shifted how he manipulated the chakra to create the new clone.

With a familiar sound of its creation, the clone was brought into the world with a “poof” sound as it walked from the cloud of chakra smoke to stand beside the other now. This type of slight changes in the manipulation of the chakra continued as the man created three more now for a total of five clones that now stood together with him within the darkened training area. Now came the time to begin testing as the first shadow clone stepped away from the others before dispersing as it was not one of the clones with altered chakra manipulation used to form him. The first clone was then released, but sadly there was no refreshing feeling of any of its chakra returning back to himself…truly a bit of a disappointment but he never expected to arrive at an answer quickly either. The next two wielded the same results for the man who couldn’t help but be a little frustrated before the exhaled and turned to look at the moon that was almost completely hidden by the earth’s shadow as it would most likely be completely hidden the next night. As he let his golden eye gaze into the sky the man then released the last clone that he had created and felt something.

“What was that?”

The man actually spoke aloud now as he turned back onto the last tendrils of chakra smoke as they lingers in the air, he had felt it with this clone…chakra! It was not much chakra but it was a small amount of the man’s chakra returning to him from his creation. Just as he was starting to feel that this training might end up being futile things changed in an instant just like they could in battle. Remembering how he had changed the manipulation of the last clone the man’s soft hands came back up forming the unique seal used for the shadow clone technique and once more a clone appeared in a small expansion of chakra smoke. Just like the previous one before it as it was dispersed the man was able to feel it better this time with his sole focus on the clone as some of the chakra returned to him. Yet the man was already beginning to feel exhausted from using six shadow clones already and the returning chakra was so small that it wouldn’t allow for him to continue creating too many more clones at the current exchange rate. The scholar knew that this wouldn’t be a single night solution but it had definitely pointed him in the correction direction that would all the former Suna-nin could push his efforts into. Days would turn into weeks that slowly turned into a full month of training and chakra manipulation that seemed to allow the man to draw a little more each time from the clone after it was destroyed.

After the full month of training the man felt that as his current level of ninjutsu and control of chakra that the best return that he could achieve from his shadow clone was about half the chakra that had been given to it. But for the older man this was exponentially better than receiving a little or none back from the creation, as every little bit of chakra that returned to him could be used to turn the tide of a battle or situation that he might possible not have been able to do without the chakra return.

‘Who would have thought such a feat was possible.’

After channeling chakra into one of their hands, forming a swirling eight inch diameter sphere of chakra, the user launches the orb under their control at a speed of 25 and a range up to 35 meters from the user. Upon the user willing it or it impacting something the chakra orb explodes with the force of a A-Rank explosion. If the user does not strike a target within 5 posts the jutsu explodes on its own.

The brilliant silver light shone down from above the Hidden Sand village on this quiet night, a full moon hanging proudly in the sky as a faint breeze brought a gentle coolness to the skin on Zao’s face as he sat in a lotus position within the courtyard of a small training area simply pondering. His left hand was resting in a normal position upon the left knee while the right hand was turned upward with its palm toward the moon and extended out in front of his chest slightly. Forming in the center of the palm was a small ball of bright blue chakra. This was a simple technique which the man had first created three or four months ago, his Bursting Chakra Orb, though as he had spent his time up to know working on mastering a variety of offensive, defensive, and even a few supplementary techniques there was something about this technique that the young man just couldn’t let go of. It had even been used as the inspiration in creating his chakra beam technique as he had utilized the basic principles that he had learned in the process of creating it to then create the beam attack. Quietly he waved his right hand sending the attack out toward a nearby training log before it soon impacted the hard wooden surface before instantly detonating with a force identical to that of a normal explosive tag.

After a few moments the man recalled the feeling of the technique and its manner of chakra molding and manipulation putting it into the back of his mind before leaning forward and using a since arm to aid himself in moving to a standing position now. Both hands moved toward one another as if grasping around an invisible orb that would have been between the palms as the hands moved back and to the right side of his body. The hands gently began to press together slight aiding in the controlling of the chakra as they moved to the side and began to increase the rotation of the chakra that was now building up between the soft hands, allowing the thoughts that the rotation seemed to have a balancing effect on the technique to run through the back of his mind. Zao only needed to give the technique few more seconds of buildup time before then thrusting them out forward to a fully extended posture. As the technique left the hands traveling a few meters the eight inch sized orb that had been building and rapidly spinning in his palms quickly expanded out into a meter sized beam of pure chakra as Zao no longer struggled as much to maintain control its movements in guiding it away from his current position and toward a nearby wooden log target. Unlike that day when he first was able to pull off the technique with moderate successful, he was easily capable of hitting the target which caused the attack exploded as it should have with a force a b-rank explosion.

The target log was disassembled into many shards of wood that were scattered about the small training area, it indeed taken some time to truly master the control aspect of the technique while also trying to squeeze out as much explosive power as he could with the technique in its current state. But he had been a very patient man who was driven to succeed, had eventually managed to push the technique to this level. While its destructive power was great he wished to create and even more devastating technique that he would evolve from the bursting chakra orb technique using the principles of both techniques he had just performed. Bringing his hands together almost as if preparing to pray the man quietly allowed for his mind and emotions to settle down before bringing his right hand up in front of him with the palm once more facing upward toward the full moon above. Then with the unused left hand he reached up and took hold of the right wrist as if to help stabilize the arm before a two inch orb of chakra seemed to almost instantly materialize within the open palm. But this was just the beginning as he started to rotate the chakra faster while slowly injecting more and more chakra into the small orb which steadily began to grow from two inches up to three inches and then to four inches. With just that he was able to double to the size of the technique before he then began to alter the chaotic chakra within the orb but this was done even more slowly that how he had increased the size of the technique.

A d-ranked explosion would hurt and could possibly injure him but it wasn’t something that would be life threatening most of the time, but now he was starting to truly move into the level of dangerous as he was dealing with at least a c-rank explosive and he wished to push this power to the peak. After a few moments he flicked his finger outward and the orb was sent flying before slamming into a large bolder which it demolished the entire top half with its explosive power, a simple nod was the response from the shinobi turned scholar now as he began to repeat the same steps as before. The process was a rather tedious one but it was also the safest method in the young man’s eyes as to help mitigate the possibility of an accidental explosion that could maim him or even cost the loss of limb. This second time the man was able to increase the orb to just over five inches in diameter as the explosive power was still a bit too unstable to continue increasing its size until he was able to feel the proper amount of control and manipulation that was needed.

Three weeks went by in what felt like the blink of an eye between training and researching for the Scribes, but today he was fresh after a training session a few days ago where he had made another breakthrough with the technique feeling that he had truly reached the peak for this specific technique. Turning the palm of one hand toward the scorching sun that was nearly at its noon position a bright blue orb of chakra matching Zao’s eye colour manifested itself after a few second within the palm, levitating a few inches above the man’s soft skin. A eight inch diameter orb of swirling chakra coated a chaotic chakra center which was then launched with the flick of the index finger and the effects were truly an impressive show as it slammed into a distant target over twenty meters away unleashing a large explosion in an area just over 12^3 meters. While there was still some slight room left for improving the power of the technique the functionality and mechanic were completely solid at this point, only more usage of the technique would be able to finish perfecting it for battle…

RasenganShow
[Ninjutsu • Rasengan][/b]
A-Ranked Ninjutsu
Prerequisite: 30 Ninjutsu, 30 Control
The user begins by channeling a large amount of chakra through his body before directing this chakra towards one of their hands. The hand will then act as though it is holding an orb, and within moments the chakra will condense in the palm of the hand, taking the form of a rotating sphere of densely packed chakra that fits comfortable in their hand. The user can hold on to this orb for up to 4 posts without it dissipating, and upon making physical contact with another person, the power of the orb will be released. This power will charge forward in a corkscrew, digging into the opponent with a strength of 30, making it easily capable of rending and tearing into their flesh as the chakra digs into their body. Finally, after ripping into the target, the orb will then blast the last of its power into the target, pushing them away from user with 30 strength to create distance.

“Please come in.”
The young silver haired scholar sat quietly enjoying a cup of tea within his large courtyard, his thoughts were on some of the research that he had been working on for the Scribes when there was a gentle knocking at the gate of the court yard that led out onto the street that ran alone the east side of Zao’s home. After the former shinobi called out to the unknown person who was knocking on the gate an old man with a long grey beard that came down to a point and equally long grey hair that had been tied up in a bun slowly stepped through the gate causing the young man to instantly rise to his feet and greet this man. This man was his form teacher and master, the man solely responsible for the reason he had managed to increase his abilities to the height that they were at today, his name was Sukai Hitachi. A retired Suna jounin and powerful fuuinjutsu and tenkujutsu user whom had steered the young man toward those two arts, though mainly Zao’s talent and desires lay with working with spirits. With a warm smile he stood up to welcome the older man bringing one hand into the palm of the other an offering a light bow toward the advancing man before helping him to his seat.

“Greeting senpai!”

“No need to stand on formalities my former student.”

“Please have a seat and some tea with me.”

“How could I refuse such hospitality?”

It wasn’t odd for Hitachi to stop by and check on the young student of his, since the young man had decided not to reenlist into the ranks of the Suna shinobi after reaching the rank of jounin he had become a bit disheartened but upon finding out the reasoning and that Zao planned to rejoin after going out and adventuring to test and strength himself outside the world of just the shinobi he felt more at ease. At least once a week the man would stop by to check on what his former student was doing and see if there were any tips or points that he could give from his years of experience and wisdom to help the man continue to advance. Though today was a bit different as the pair chatted for good part of a half an hour as Zao spoke about a few of his most recent accomplishments in terms of his ninjutsu training and also about some spirits that he had been researching on as well. It wasn’t until after this that the man revealed the reason for his visit today. The reason for his visit was to pass along a short ranged ninjutsu technique that was well fitted for someone with such high control as the silver haired man possessed a technique that could be very powerful if used at the right time.

The old man began his explanation by raising a single hand palm up in between the two of them and rapidly spinning and condensing chakra into a sphere of chakra that rotated with tremendous speed and power. Zao was no stranger to using chakra in this manner but he had never used it at such a level of speed and rotation, but there was also the containment of the power it was creating as well. This he could tell just from experience and seeing the technique from creation to the moment that it was dissipated by the older man who then began to explain the process for learning the technique and the conditions that had to be met before moving on the next steps in the process. As he spoke a worn looking notebook that was nearly three quarters of the way filled with different notes and writing appeared almost out of nowhere within the young man’s hands as he began to take copious notes with great speed and precision in every pen stroke. This was the man that he looked up to more so then even his own father and one who only fell below that of the Kazekage himself. Forming a few hand seals the old man summoned a small box about a foot in length and width, the box contained some balloons and rubber balls which had been described in the process through which he would be able to learn the basics of the technique.

The two men chatted for probably another half an hour before the older man slowly stood up and bid his farewells to his former student and left the courtyard as Zao stood up as well giving a light bow of respect to his mentor before turning his eyes back to the pages of notes and the box that remained on the medium sized stone table. One thing the young man did truly lack was close range ninjutsu but to him this seemed much to close range for his normal comfort zone but if his master believed that it would be useful then he would not question the motives. Filling a handful of the balloons with water now he picked up the first one and began to inject his chakra and rapidly rotate it within the ballon which caused for its surface to stretch and twist almost instantly, such a task was indeed easy for the jounin skilled in chakra control. Within a few seconds one side of the balloon popped and the water sprayed out, taking only a couple seconds to gather himself the man picked up a second balloon and started again doing this several time in a row as the last balloon exploded completely as water sprayed across everything within a meter of the balloon including the man himself.

With a light chuckle the man removed a piece of cloth and dried his face before picking up the rubber ball, it had no water inside to help the user burst it and the rubber ball was obviously tougher to break and required the user to increase the raw power of the rotation to be able to burst the ball. A few hours later and about ten balls later the man’s hand was clenched around the rubber sphere as it began to contort and bulge as the man surged more chakra into the ball while trying to maintain some containment of the said power before the rubber ball actually exploded into numerous smaller pieces. With step two complete the man once again returned to his notes about how now he needed to actually contain the power that he had just demonstrated within a water balloon without bursting it…as simple as it sound it was indeed difficult even with his high level of control. One month later the silver haired scholar stood alone in a rather run down looking training area as in his right hand was a spiraling orb of chakra that was actually a little bit larger than the one shown to him by Hitachi, pushing forward he drove the attack into a large boulder and watched as the spinning chakra fiercely dug into the rock before at the end the attack blasted the last of its power into the rock which carved a hole through the large boulder…this technique was truly one of the pinnacles of chakra control…

By channeling a large amount of chakra through their body, the user then releases this chakra into an area within 30 meters of themselves. This chakra quickly takes the form of a 25^3 meter barrier, materializing at a speed of 20 in the air above said target before being sent crashing down upon the area with a speed and strength of 30 to crush everything underneath.

Silver hair swayed lightly in the gentle breeze that swept loose sand from left to right across the training area that Zao found himself within on this morning as the sun was already starting to climb into the sky. Today the man was looking to discover some insight into the art of barriers as he had begun to understand them to a fairly high degree even creating a barrier with his tenkujutsu to trap spirits with, but he felt that there was still more that could be done with a barrier then what he had accomplished so far. Exhaling slowly the man concentrated some chakra before him and with a wave of his soft looking left hand he manifested a simple wall barrier before him that seemed to hang there in the air acting as a simple shield. This was the most basic use for any type of barrier, to protect one’s self from the dangers of another person, their weapon, or some ninjutsu attack they might have launched. Bright blue eyes seemed to study each and every inch of the small three meter barrier that he had created now as if looking for something that he had never noticed with the technique. Ever advanced idea had to start with or come from a very basic concept and there wasn’t anything more basic than this D-rank technique right now in terms of the subject of barriers.

Shaking his head slightly from one side and back to the other he wave the right hand across the barrier and caused it to fade away as the chakra stability rapidly deteriorated now before it finally disappeared completely from sight. The fingertips of the same hand were then directed onto the man’s chin as he rubbed his hairless face in thought, pondering a few random ideas that were just floating around in the back of his mind. Though he only let himself be distracted from his mission for a few moments before then forming a hand seal to help with molding chakra as he then manipulated a mass of chakra within him and channeled it outward in every direction creating a ten meter cubed barrier of bright blue chakra with him at the epicenter of its formation spot. With the ‘simple barrier’ fully erected the man then began to slowly walk to each corner placing his hand on the walls and inspecting the walls and seems of the new barrier now like he had previously done with the ‘wall barrier’ just short while before.

After a few minutes the barrier also lost its stability as the chakra that had been used to create the large cube had been used completely up now and it integrity faltered and the chakra walls broke apart before disappearing like the barrier before it. Shaking his head once more the man then began to manipulate and mold a larger amount of chakra then before and then pushed his hands out to each side releasing the built up chakra all around him to form a fifteen meter cubed barrier, ‘Large Barrier’. This was simply a stage above his last barrier in size and strength but he continued to look for any insights that it could possibly provide him. Once more the man then began to slowly walk to each corner placing his hand on the walls and inspecting the walls and seems of the new barrier now like he had previously done with the ‘wall barrier’ and the ‘simple barrier’ just minutes before hand. Soon afterwards this barrier followed the same pattern as the ones before it being dismissed and allowed to fade away as magically as it had appeared now.

‘Shizumeru • Imprisonment…’

Zao had used all but his most chakra intensive barrier, though this barrier’s strength lay not in the defense against other so much as it was specifically created to be used against spirits and attacks created from spirits. Once more the man began to channel chakra throughout his body with it taking nearly twice as long as it had for the previous technique, a few drops of sweat formed upon his forehead as the man’s body leaked a maroon colored chakra now. Then the chakra was released all at once as a massive 25 meter cubed barrier of maroon chakra filled up the training area around its creator now, though it appeared rather impressive it didn’t stop normal attacks or even individuals from moving through its chakra walls as the barrier was designed to trap spirits within. But it was then that the young scholar had a sort of epiphany that the barrier could be designed to restrict an opponent by descending from above and trapping them underneath it like a surprise attack.

‘That might actually work…”

He first tried with his ‘simple barrier’ by manifesting it about ten meters above himself now and utilizing his high level of chakra control exerted more chakra to take control of the barrier and cause it to slowly descend now as he reached up allowing it to push down upon his hand as it came low enough to do so. This ‘simple barrier’ was obviously too weak to be utilized to trap anything more than a child but it gave him the exact result that he was looking for but he would need to construct a barrier that even stronger and faster than even his ‘Large Barrier’ was. After taking a break to recover some of his spent chakra the man was back again as the sun was already on its descending path in the sky as afternoon was slowly turning into evening now. Channeling a large amount of chakra throughout his body the man then projected the chakra directly above him as he was trying to improve on the ‘Large Barrier’ technique firstly, above the man a barrier that was just slightly larger than the mention technique slowly formed as the young man expended any more chakra to then force the barrier to move under his command downward.

A week later the young man was back at the same training area now as his loose fitting robes sways lightly back and forth in the hot breeze that swept across the desert and into the Sand village, both hands were together holding a single hand seal to aid the man in channeling the large amount of chakra that he was building up now before then projecting the mass of chakra nearly thirty meters away from himself over a series of wooden and rocky targets. In only a few moments a massive cube of chakra twenty five meters in size filled the sky and could be seen from the nearby homes in the village, drawing the attention of more than a few people who happen to be out in these morning hours. Then as if controlling the barrier with his hand motion he dropping one hand towards the ground and the barrier began to rapidly descend before slamming into the ground and the targets that had been below it grinding them into the rock and sand filled earth with nearly thirty strength. The technique only needed a few more tweaks and Zao believed that it would be ready for use…

After the user has channeled a massive amount of chakra into the palm of their hand, the user releases the massive amount completely raw without any form of manipulation, releasing a blast wave of chakra outward from their hand in a 20 meter long, 35 meter diameter cone at a speed of 30 and strength of 40. Though seemingly simple, this technique can be coupled with loose objects in the air or thrown by the other hand, such as shuriken or a variety of different materials, to launch them at the techniques strength.

There could only be seen a faint glimmer in the distance, that glimmer was the Hidden Sand village now as a pair of men that consisted of one young and one old slowly walked in a direction of open desert with nothing more that dunes and a scorching sun above them. Though both were rather well suited to such conditions as the desert of wind country had been their homeland since birth. It didn’t take long for the duo to completely move out of site of the village itself as the old man leading the younger silver haired man who appeared like more of a scholar that shinobi had a single purpose in leading the man here. He wished to test how far alone his student had truly come after deciding to refrain from reenlisting into the Suna shinobi ranks due to some personal reason. Part of the old man worried about the young man who was barely twenty one years old and another part knew that at his age he was dealing with missions that had him tread the line between life or death for his homeland.

“This should be far enough my young friend.”

“Master what was it that you wished to ask me to bring us out into the open desert?”

“I wish to see what your most powerful ninjutsu attack is.”

“Okay…”

Zao wanted to question the old man but he knew that Hitachi was not the kind of person to do something without a good reason, with that the silver haired man turned and faced what appeared to be an endless desert now and slowly lifted his right hand up while flipping the palm so that it faced the sky. Then he began to rapidly channel a massive amount of chakra into the air just above the palm as a large orb about eight inches across began to form as it rapidly twisted and swirls wildly for a few moments as droplets of sweat could be seen run down each side of the man’s face from his hair line. The orb seemed to almost be controlled by the hand now as the former Suna ninja then flicked the finger of the hand outward causing the orb to rapidly shoot forward where he controlled the orb in an even more precise manner causing it to first arch up and then descend down on an area about thirty meters away from their current position. A power explosion rocked the surround area as wind and sand buffeted the pair of men as the explosion encompassed an area sixteen meters in diameter leaving a crater in the sand of similar size as the smoke and dust began to clear. It was at this time that the young man slowly let his arm down and turned to see the grey eyes of his old teacher studying the scenes from the formation of the attack and then the manipulation of the technique under Zao’s will, to the actual power of the attack upon impact. This gaze held firm for around five second before he smiled slightly and turned to his student to speak.

“Not too bad at all, Zao-san. But you’ll need a few more trump cards then just that attack. This is the reason I’ve brought you out here, over the next few months this old man wishes to pass onto you my two trumps cards for attack and defense. I feel that you’ll definitely surpass me if you can stay alive lone enough to do that and these should help you out. First we’ll start with this…”

The man paused for a moment and reached into his hip pouch to retrieve a eight in long scroll that was about three inches in thickness before handing it to his former student, knowing that even though Zao was a rather smart individual who could learn through being shown the steps he also knew that the young man could visualize the process in much greater detail if he was able to read and formulate his own thoughts on the technique as well. With a simple nod the bright blue eyed scholar gladly accepted the scroll understanding the meaning behind it and began to rapidly scan through the first portion of the scrolls contents as he did so the man’s eyes widened a bit as he pondered if this attack could be as powerful as the scroll claimed for it to be. Lowering the partially unrolled scroll in his hands the man then looked over at his mentor now whom held a slight smirk upon his aged face before he turned to the area in which Zao had previously launched his own personal attack at. The almost frail looking hand from Hitachi slowly lifted and pointed its palm toward the mention area as a look of determination flashed across the man’s pale grey eyes for just a moment.

Then out of nowhere there was a powerful surge of chakra that even Zao could feel coming from his mentor, it was something that he had never felt before. Something that was so overwhelming strong that it even caused a slight shiver to run down the young man’s spine…just what kind of attack required this level of chakra to be built up to utilize and not only that but what kind of destruction would such a thing do. It was at this point that the young scholar couldn’t pull his eyes off his former master now as a swirl of formless chakra could visible be seen around the hand and arm that was extended outward before without warning the massive amount of chakra being channeled was finally released. It surged outward in a conical fashion extend outward for around twenty meters from the palm of his hand and reaching at least thirty if not more meters across at the end of the wave. But what was more impressive than the speed and size of the technique was the sheer strength that it possessed as it ground away and devastated everything in its path from start to finish. It was utterly amazing and a bit frightening to the young man who couldn’t help but be caught up staring at the attack.

“This was one of the trump cards I mentioned, its range is slightly lacking but its power is almost unmatched as you can see.”

“That’s amazing…”

“Practice it here, I’ll be returning now my student.”

“Yes sir.”

Zao really didn’t know what to say as the man’s hand twitched lightly before he pulled it back down to his side, using such an attack wasn’t an easy task for him these days but it needed to be demonstrated for his former student to truly understand the working details of the attack from start to finish. Exhaling slowly the old man was already sweating as he turned a simply giving a farewell wave as he began to advance back towards the village leaving his young companion to contemplate and begin practicing the technique itself. The young man himself gave a slight bow in return and immediately returned his attention to the scroll and continued to deconstruct the basic learning steps of the technique itself while replaying the scene of Hitachi utilizing the attack. A few hours later the desert erupted with a small conical explosion of around five meters as the man drew back his hand as the man drew back a slightly burn hand, it seemed that he had been a little bit to reckless in discharging the chakra as it needed more control and focus.

A week later the young man was once more outside the outskirts of the village now, his left and right hands were bandaged up where he had been learning how difficult it was to control and manipulate the amount of chakra required to actually create the blast of chakra and the very real possibilities of injuring one’s self in the process. During the past week he had been out here to train a total of three time not including today, the time in between was necessary for him to be able to rest and recover the used chakra and to tend to the minor wounds he had received from using the technique itself. The man’s left hand lifted toward a section of scorched desert that was riddled with craters and scars from previous training sessions as the hand itself trembled slightly but the man’s will power allowed for the bandaged hand to steady itself now. With that a surge of chakra was channeled throughout his left arm it could physically be seen swirling around the hand and lower arm, charging the technique up for several seconds now as the bright blue glow of raw chakra made it difficult to clearly see the bandaged hand and forearm.

‘Again…!’

With that though the man grunted and thrust his arm surrounded by raw chakra forward as a powerful conical wave of formless chakra now was sent speeding forward now as the wave of destruction pushed everything out of its way and tore the earth before it asunder now. The wave was only about ten meters in length but its speed and power were not too far off from the one that had been demonstrated by his master, but it also demonstrated that he still was not quite on the same level as his master just yet either. Despite the improvement that had happened to the technique over the past training days he couldn’t help but be a bit frustrated at the slow rate of improvement with the trump card as it was called. A week soon turned into a month with turned into three as the man observed a wave of chakra was willed forth to destroy anything directly in front of him now, the speed and power now closing in upon that of his master’s original technique and the distance it was able to cover was almost there as well. At this rate of improvement within the month he would be able to match the strength of that old man’s technique….so close.

Today Zao sat with a plain looking set of stands that had an overlooking position to a pair of sparing rings. Sown below in both ratings their was a pair is young shinobi testing their mettle in friendly sparing bouts. Simple one inn one matches allowed for them to hone their own fighting skills while also gaining experience and the silver haired man was actually there to do the same thing: train. Of course the mid range fighter wasn't there to train in close range combat but instead to use these ninja to help train his own sensory techniques and to refine his control. As the bright blue eyes watched the combatants below both soft looking hands slowly joined together forming a hand seal.

Concentrating his chakra for a moment the former jounin then slowly let his presence expand outward from his current position as it expanded from him to five meters then ten meters before continuing to expand until it hit his limit of a twenty five meter radius around himself now. The sensory was easily able to sense not only the four fighters but all of the other spectators within the mentioned radius. Breathing slowly out of his nose the man then moved his hands into a different hand seal now activating the Target Lock technique which allowed for his to be able to focus on a specific chakra source which was one of the fighters down below him in the arena.

For a few moments the silver haired scholar simply allowed for himself to focus on taking this single target now before then closing his eyes for the first time during this process. Zao closed his eyes too allow for his to concentrate more now as his hands started to move one again as the moved through a relatively short string of hand seals now and finished by forming the same seal he had used to activate his target lock technique a little while earlier. This was a technique that he had been learning for the past week or so in which he would come here to practice it on other.

Simply known as gauge speed it allowed for Zao to bracket the speed of an opponent, this was accomplished by using his own speed as a baseline for which to compare the targets speed to his own. Through out the past week he had used this technique over and over again iin a variety of targets to help him judge those of various speed levels which he mentally compiled into a kind of chart inside his mind. Which he silently used to calculate the younger shinobi's speed in the fighting tting down below as a pair of almost glowing brought blue eyes finally opened as he mumbled to himself...

"Around twenty three.. he's definitely faster than me it seems. "

The sensor will activate their sensory jutsu, and then do a second set of hand seals. For the next 5 posts, any time anyone within the range of their sensory activates a jutsu, the user will see their chakra “flare” momentarily. While they won’t know anything about the jutsu, it will give them a better idea of the battle field.

Today was another day of training for one white haired young man, still enhancing his most basic of understandings of the art of sensory. Unlike the last training session the man didn't attend the fighting arena to watch the sparing bouts but instead opted for another place. It appeared more like an open area with large boulders and logs set up for targets, while some used it for training taijutsu its main purpose was for training ninjutsu inn its wide area and large target points. There was only a couple shinobi out toasty training it appeared as the monk like man slowly walked up taking up a lotus position upon a knee high rock near the few ninja whom were already here.

Quietly Zao closed both of his gorgeous bright blue eyes and formed a one handed hand seal now which circulating and molding some chakra before pursing the invisible field outward now allowing it to encompass a twenty five meter radius around his current spot on the small rock. Then the man brought the free hand up to the hand holding a hand seal and combined the pair moving into a short series of hand seals. This specific set of hand seals has been taught personally to him by by his former teacher, Hitachi, as he attempted to flare or his chakra as he he had been instructed to do. The purpose of the technique was to notify the user if any type of chakra based technique was used within the boundary of any sensory technique that he night be using.

This would give the young man a better picture of the surrounding battlefield and allow him to either direct other to act more accurately or allow for himself to make a more educated moveinstead of walking into something blindly. Though currently he felt some resistance as he attempted to flare the chakra out arou d himself. It was only expanding it about five meters from his position. Quietly the man formed the series of hand seals once more and this time focused inn refining the chakra more and out showed as the result was him being able to push the chakra flare out to just over five meters. At that moment he felt a flare in his sensor range as a nearby chuunin fired off a Fuuton style technique.

Obviously without seeing the technique he would not have any idea as to what kind of technique but just the heads up that one had been utilized would be of great help on the battlefield. Though he still needed to work on smoothing out the chakra flare to extend its range to match that of his sensory technique. But that was something that would come with time and mire practice but the proof of concept was rather exciting to the young man who cancelled his techniques and opened his blue eyes now...

Zao gentle knocked upon the wooden surfaces of a tall gate that led into a rather large courtyard, after a few moments of silence he was told to enter by a female voice with in the courtyard walls and the young man preceded to walk in now without hesitation. The woman appeared within view after a few moments, she was an older looking woman week past retirement age with her paddle blue eyes and long get hair pulled back some. She had a friendly smile upon her face as Zao gave a respectful bow to her and then a second bow to the older gentleman who soon joined her side. The older man was his former master Hitachi and the older woman was his who Chi. Both of them appeared to look on at the silver haired tooth like he was one off their children now as with a motion of their hands the trio moved too the other side off the court yard now.

There their were three individuals seated in chairs facing away from the three as they approached before stopping about five meters away from them. These three were servants and maids of the older couple and were here today to help Zao work on a particular sensory technique. It was a sensory technique that went further than simple searching for sources of chakra within the sensors range as it actually allowed for the sensor to notice any abnormalities indicative of genjutsu in any of the sources of chakra they can sense. This was the third time that he had been to their home in the past week, slowly learning the principles behind the technique which allowed for a more in-depth look at the chakra sources under his scan. The three servants allgreeted the trio as that reached them and the training session began as it had for the previous two day.

The three servants turned around so that they were now facing away from Zao which was the condition for Zao to expand his sensory presence. Forming a single hand seal the tipping white haired man didn't even bother to close his eyes now as his senses expanded out to twenty five meters almost instantly with the level of mastery that he had grasped over the basic minds eye technique. Then it was the old woman's move as her hands slipped into an instinctive series of hand seals before she cast a silent genjutsu initiates by a wink of her right eye as she had moved in front of the three servants. She was able to tell right away that the man had fallen under her illusionary technique but the distant look that over took the youngest amongst the three.

From the back if the targets he the white haired scholar couldn't see the tell-tell signs of the illusionary jutsu as he moved his hands into a new series of hand seals himself before finally stopping and holding the last seal now. Quietly he allowed for his bright blue eyes to disappear as he began to concentrate on the first of the three, allowing for his minds eye to focus solely upon the woman as he peered past just her chakra signal and into the actual flow of the chakra with more ease than the last attempts a few days ago. But to Zao it seemed like this woman was perfectly fine with any type of changes in her chakra that might indicate that she was under the influence of any foreign chakra. Shaking his head lightly he withdrew his presence and proceeded to move onto the youngest amongst the trio of individuals.

Just like before he allowed his presence to descend upon the young man with his back to him now, letting it settle upon the flow of chakra with the servant now. Unlike yesterday when he wasn't able to even notice a change he could almost instantly tell that their was something different about the boys chakra flow. Quietly the use eyes young man continued to examine the target's chakra flow taking note of the difference before finally opening his eyes and pulling out his worn notevook. Taking a few minutes to jot down everything that he experienced this time so that it wpuld help him improve control over the technique as he continued to refine and master it to its limits.

Having used the flare, the user will look out for any flares. Upon noticing one, the user will immediately do a single hand seal, allowing them to determine the affinity, strength, and speed if applicable, and sense where that chakra is going specifically. This means if it’s a projectile, they’ll be able to track and see the projectile in their minds eye. If it’s a fuuinjutsu, they are able to see that a fuuinjutsu is activated, but will not be able to follow the result unless they activate this jutsu again. This jutsu is very effective due to its broad mechanic.

Once more the blue eyed, white hair former Suna ninja sat quietly at one of the abundant ninjutsu training area scattered throughout the village. The one he was at today had a few chuunin being instructed by a single jounin in the art of doton and futon, those being the only two natural elements existing within the deserts of Wind country. Sadly the man didn’t really have any affinity toward elemental jutsu but he hoped that if he could reach the pinnacle of pure ninjutsu he would have a better understanding of ninjutsu in general and would be able to apply that toward attempting to learn elemental ninjutsu once again. Today the man continued to strive expanding upon his current arsenal of Mind’s Eye technique through the use of practice and the technique scroll left to him by his former master and teacher, Hitachi-sama.

Zao exhaled slowly and closed both of his gorgeous bright blue eyes and then formed a one handed hand seal which aided in his circulating and molding of a small portion of chakra before expanding his mind’s eyes out in an invisible field outboard now allowing it to encompass a twenty five meter radius around his current spot on the small rock. It was something he already knew but this short distant was not enough to cover the limits of the training area and the individuals that were currently within it. Increasing his focus now the man began to expand the sense to its current limit of fifty meters in every direction from where he sat quietly upon a simple bench within the training area. Now that his Mind’s eye was fully in place he then performed a short series of hands seals now which allowed for him to flare out a portion of his chakra to cover the training area within the limits of his sensory technique now. This was a technique that he had only learned a short while ago but it was a critical piece in the performance of the jutsu he was attempting to learn today. The next part was one that would draw on the white haired man’s patience, he needed to wait for a jutsu to be used by those in the area in order for him to sense it with his ‘Flare’ technique and then response quickly enough to utilize technique which was supposed to be able to evaluate a technique through its affinity, strength, and even speed.

The young man’s head seemed to shift suddenly to the left ever so slightly at that moment as a flare went off within his sensory range caused by the activation of some technique, with that the man formed a single hand seal and attempted to evaluate the chakra source. A hint of disappointment could be seen on the face of the closed eyed man as he had been just a little bit late in performing the new technique and had missed the window for its usage. Obviously the man wasn’t expected to get it right the first time but he had hoped to at least have a little bit of success and not a total failure of an attempt but with a slow exhale he refocused himself and prepared for the next attempt. Luckily the man didn’t have to wait to long as it was only about thirty seconds before another flare could be seen by his mind’s eyes and this time he was able to create the hand seal and focus on the chakra flare somewhat. But he could instantly tell that it was created from doton based chakra.

A tiny success and something that would only be able to be increased through many, many repitiions of the technique and evaluating a large quantity of different type of technique by rank and element in order to allow the man to build a data base to draw reference from when attempting to evaluate these technique. Over the course of the next two months the man personally made trips to various shinobi whom he had served with for their help in this matter, while not all were able to accept due to their own various reasons, but those who were able gave the man a great deal of raw data which he not only made mental notes of but a detailed data collection in his worn looking notebook…

After drawing a seal formula on a surface, appropriate in size to the weapon being sealed but no larger than 3x9 inches, the user forms the needed hand seals then may place as many of that singular object into the scroll as desired. When done, the user performs another set of hand seals and touches the seal closing it off as the seal condenses to the shape of the object stored. This seal is the only known sealing applications that allows depth storage and unfortunately this cannot be done at larger sizes. Tools can only be released at a maximum of 10 at a time, and are released with zero force.

A large scroll was partially unrolled in front of the Zao as he studied a very simple fuuin that was similar to his puppet sealing technique so the man believed that this would be a good sealing technique to begin with. The young man slowly unrolled a much smaller seal scroll just underneath the much larger scroll and then picked up a small, fine tipped brush from off his lap. Slowly and carefully the man dipped the tip in a small container of jet black ink before removing it and studying the premade seal on the larger of the two scrolls Kasai began to trace the seal onto the blank parchment with confident strokes. This was more of a beginner seal but the man would finish tracing the first seal, but to the man who was about perfection had drawn seal in something that could only be described as 'okay' thought it definitely needed some refinement in a few of the tight curves.

‘It could be better.’

Once again the man would dip the fine tipped brush into the thick, dark liquid before tracing a second seal that looked nearly identical to the first only much neater then the previous one and looked much closer to the example that he was copying from on the larger scroll above. But it was still not up to the younger man’s standards. The man would trace another two before finally settling on the fourth iteration of the ‘minor sealing’ inscription that allowed for one to seal smaller weapons or tools to just over the size of a kunai away in the scrolls like he had before him now. Removing a kunai from the left leg holster the man placed the weapon onto the perfected seal having put a line through the other three, before then letting his hands move through a short series of seals. Channeling his chakra the man then place his right palm onto the weapon and flowed his chakra through the weapon and the inscribed fuuin before in a poof of chakra smoke the weapon was gone, sealed within the parchment.

‘Not bad.’

The young man would continue to practice drawing the simpler seal, it needed to get to the point where he could draw the fuuin on memory alone without the aid of the example seal that he had been using from the much larger scroll. Only then would he truly consider it as another piece of his arsenal. Fuuin was different than other ninjutsu with just seals and manipulation as it required a bit more brain power to remember the exact diagram to use. But the experienced shinobi was up for the challenge and considered himself to be rather intelligent to boot….

Developed for clandestine operations originally, instead of using ink and paper, the user draws a seal onto their body the size of the item they are sealing into their body. Upon doing a set of hand seals, the user then slides the item into the tattoo and performs a second seal, causing the seal to go dormant. When kai'd the seal releases the stored item.

On this day, the white haired man could be found away from the training areas and within the one of the bustling districts of the Suna village as he made his way down the streets in his full black clad attire. Only a set of bright blue eyes could be seen from the shadow casted over the upper portion of Zao’s face from a bamboo style wide brimmed hat that he wore on this scorching hot day as the sun was already at its highest point in the sky symbolizing that it was noon. Turning right into a narrow alleyway the man continued at a steady place until he arrived at his destination. An average looking two story concrete building with the symbol for an ink shop above the door way as the man walked in without knocking. Inside there could be found an older man and a couple chuunin aged shinobi helping him with tasks area the shop. The older man didn’t even look up from the task he was current tattooing the arm of a older man with a fuuin similar to the one that he had been learning only a few days earlier.

Zao had come to watch and learn the art of tattooing so that the man could possibly permanently emplaced a strong fuuin upon his own body to store weapons or perhaps for some other useful method. The white clothed figure took a seat only a meters or so back and watched the aged precision of the man as he slowly tattooed the younger man with a storage seal. Taking great care to make every line perfect on the stenciled outline that had been placed upon the man’s forearm with a very fine pointed brush and shadowy ink. Allowed to dry the ink fuuin was then tattooed over making the once washable seal now a permanent feature to their pale skin. Though the young white haired man was no tattoo artist he was capable of understanding the simple concept of using ones own skin as parchment to inscribe upon as it was just like using a paper scroll. Yet, one would need to make sure to take great care in making the decision on which seal would be placed on the body and where on the body.

‘Interesting…’

This would definitely something that the Zao would take into consideration of doing in the future, once he had been able to learn and master some of the stronger sealing technique that the large scroll contained back at the mountain get away. Until then though, the renowned spiritualist would pass on a tattoo today as he watched the man squirm slightly in his seat.

Minor Weapon DefenseShow
*Fuuinjutsu • Minor Weapon Defense
D-Rank Storage & Force Fuuinjutsu
By having an empty scroll with a seal formula placed on it, the user is able to use the seal as a defensive measure. Holding a single, one-handed hand seal, the user attempts to block the incoming small sized weapon (kunai or smaller) with the scroll. Right before contact is actually made, the weapon will be sealed into the seal. This seal cannot be used multiple times, and if the incoming projectile has more than 5 strength, it will overpower it, making the technique useless.

Quietly the younger man set cross legged in the lotus position upon the floor, it was dark outside already and the house was lit up with a few candles on the coffee table to his right and a few oil lamps that hung from the wall to his left and front sides. Before him was the large fuuin scroll that he had been studying for the past week as the Suna-nin had continue to build up his knowledge and expertise in the art of fuuinjutsu. It was an art form of sorts that required not only good control but a lot of practice in writing each of the seals so that it was perfect from their memory. Today’s exercise would be a little more interactive then the normal fuuin training as Zao slowly set back having finished writing out a number of storage seals onto a small scroll before rolling the scroll back up tightly and standing up. Moving toward the door the man slipped on his dark sandals and stepped outside with the scroll still in tow as he stepped around the side of the house to a small personal range that he had set up that morning.

Normally fuuin training consisted of learning the seal and practicing it over and over again to ensure that it could be written from memory alone but the older man and found another method to practice sealing weapons. Pulling on a wire he tested the range set up as a kunai was shot from a launcher and flew past him at a decent velocity, smirking the man stepped in front of where the kunai had just been launched from and unrolled the scroll about a foot revealing a single sealing fuuin on the parchment. Pulling the string again he extended the arm with the scroll out in front as the other remaining hand formed a one handed seal. He was attempting to seal a moving kunai that was being launched at him in an offensive manner but it required the proper control and timing, as the flying weapon punched through the seal on the paper scroll as the young man’s quick reaction and low flight speed of the projectile managed to save him from a direct hit as the weapon glanced his left shoulder slightly.

Shaking his head the man laughed a little to himself, no one ever said that the training would be easy or safe and how could one expect to be able to utilize something like this in combat if they never trained like it was a life or death situation. Unrolling the scroll about another foot the same sealing fuuin could be seen as he tried again pulling upon the wire to release another kunai towards himself and the scroll as the hand quickly formed a single hand seal. The weapon closed in as chakra was pushed into the seal and then poof. There was a small could of chakra smoke as the flying weapon was absorbed into the seal, it had worked…but the man would practice it several more times until the scroll was out of storage seals before quitting for the night.

Finger Engraving SealShow
[Finger Engraving Seal]

Prerequisite: 3 control
Concentrating chakra into their finger or a sharp point, the user is able to write seals on almost any surface. If used on a living target, it will cause a discomfort as the fuuinjutsu is scarred into their flesh. This can be used up to posts equal to the user's stamina.

D Rank Jutsu = 1200 Words

Minimum word count of 400
The use of a sealing technique heavily depends upon the user being able to correctly inscribe the seal but also being able to inscribe the seal where ever you need to place it the order best suited for the situation. Having a method to carve your seal into almost anything would be a powerful technique to have and that was something the man planned to do today as he read about the ability in his large fuuin knowledge scroll. In order to accomplish this type of ability, the best substance to use would be chakra itself. It was ever present within the body of a shinobi who could create it for what ever purpose they needed it for and with the proper shape manipulation it could be formed into a sharp tip.

Slowly the youn, white haired man sat back from his position of leaning over the larger scroll and began by placing both hands together now and focusing his raw chakra. After focusing his chakra the man then pushed it to his right hand as the two hands separated and the right palm turned upward toward the wood beam ceiling above. Shifting the chakra to the right hand it was then all pushed to a single point on the end of Zao’s soft looking right index finger as it began to glow with bright blue chakra. Exhaling slowly the man continued to maintain the chakra to the single point as it seemed to overtake the end of the index finger before he then turned his hand down to the wooden floor. Pressing the finger into the board the chakra began to cut into the wood as he drew a simple kanji on the wood with the chakra engraving the image he drew simultaneously.

It was barely visible, as he relaxed letting the chakra dissipate before trying it again, only this time the amount of chakra used was increased and the man tried to focus it even more onto the point of the finger. Slowly a blue glow formed only on the tip of the almost feminine looking finger now, the chakra having been focused to a more singular point on the finger which should increase the engraving power of the technique as he touched the wooden floor again. This time the image was engraved deeper and more visibly into the floor board. Carving up the hard wood with ease and he could imagine that this would be the same case for nearly any material that Zao would be able to touch. Making literally everything a canvas for fuuin jutsu. Even a person’s body could now be used in a seal that would be hard to remove. Oh the possibilities…

Simple Doppelgänger TrapShow

After doing the needed hand seals, the user inscribes a fuuin into a surface. Whenever any tampering is done to the fuuinjutsu it will respond by give off a very tiny amount of explosive force (1/4th a tag). In the place of the smoke, a clone created by the *[Clone Technique] is created. The clone looks like an exact replica of the person who tampered with the seal and attempts to fight whoever is close by, though only being a simple clone it has no true form or weight and easily dispersed with a single hit.

Sipping slowly upon a warm cup of green tea, the young man studied a new type of sealing inscription, a trap style fuuinjutsu. While the current one he was reading was truly basic in its form it was different from those inscriptions he had learned thus far and something that perhaps one would not be expecting when tampering with a seal. Smirking ever so slightly the man opened his small sealing scroll as he opened it past the previous seals he had practiced over and over again to perfect their inscriptions before finally coming to a blank spot. It was here that he began methodically tracing the design first in pencil and then with a very fine tipped brush in blank ink. A good portion of the morning would be spend like this as the man refined and refined every brush stroke as it needed to be perfect. Finally he felt that task was accomplished and removed a precut seal tag about eight inches by eight inches in size upon which the trap seal was brushed onto.

But the first iteration on the blank tag wasn’t up to par so it was thrown away and the man made a second one which was up to his standards. Taking the newly completed trap tag into his left hand he moved it onto the wooden floor directly in front of him. Then with a short series of hand seals before slamming his right palm filled with chakra down onto the trap seal, holding it against the paper tag allowing for it to absorb the chakra from the palm before the hand was removed. It appeared to be a simple meaningless seal that fuuin without any sealing experience would recognize, while not as powerful as some techniques the seal offered misdirection and confusion when triggered. But one really shouldn’t expect to much from such a low ranking sealing technique.

“Lets see.”

Zao's soft and gentle voice was like a whisper as he reached down letting the fingertips of his left hand slowly slip under the edge of the seal and begin to peel the paper off the floor boards now. To the man’s surprise there was a tiny explosive force caused by his own actions and with the sudden explosion was a small cloud of smoke. From within this smoke a simple bunshin was created and wasted no time as it attempted to attack the Reaper who tampered with the seal. Though the young man didn’t flinch as the clone’s fist impacted the masked man’s face before the touch causing for the academy clone to dissipate suddenly. That was fun and even made the quiet and focused Suna-nin almost laugh, this technique might prove to be a little fun after all.

Today the younger man was training again, but not outside in the scorching head and sun outside that was the norm for Suna. No, Zao could be found in his nice living quarters within the market district within the village. Before him were several scrolls with different fuuin upon them with some of them looking very simple in nature while the others appeared very complex in nature. The man had made use of fuuinjutsu before with the creation of a few typical seals used by nearly all shinobi but had never used it for much more. Yet, there was so many possibilities for its uses. Something he had not truly realized up until late and was now driven to learn as much as physically possible about the ninja art and how to utilize it to increase his already considerable strength as a shinobi. But to do so he had a small hurdle before him now in the form of a small scroll with a simple fuuin sealing it. It was a gift from his former master Hitachi, an older ninja who continued to aid his former student in his new pursuit of knowledge about sealing techniques and their uses. Though the elderly man had placed a simple sealing technique that the man would need to release in order to view the scroll.

‘This is about what I would expect from him…’

Zao thought quietly to himself as he searched through his memories on how to properly release the sealing technique, bringing his right hand up to his face allowing the fingertips of the hand to softly stroke the smooth skin of the uncovered face. Letting the pair of bright blue eyes close for a brief moment as the man organized the thoughts that he had been looking for. Exhaling slowly now the eyes returned from behind the closed eye lids and moved down to the scroll that sat on the floor mat just in front of him. Removing a writing brush the man dipped just the tip into a small container of ink before slowly moving to the seal and beginning to trace an outline around the seal itself. Due to the simplicity of the seal used it only took a few moments for the young man to finish outlining the seal. With that task complete the man placed his hand directly over the seal and formed the other into a concentration seal.

‘Release…’

Whisper the simple word in his thoughts he flowed chakra from the palm of the hand over the seal into the outlined seal and without further delay the seal disappeared in a small poof of chakra smoke. The small cloud of white smoke rapidly dissipated signaling the first step for the man in his sealing jutsu studies. Though he knew that it would only become harder from here.

It was early, a few hours before the sun would rise above the sandy horizon to the east of the great village of Sunagakure. Inside the a nice two story home that was situated near the market area of the village sat the man sipping on his usual drink of choice these early morning hours as he read from the large fuuin scroll that was unrolled a few meters with plenty still left to unroll. The man studied the fuuin before him that was the same size and general design as the explosive seal but with a little something different, something that he had not seen before and that intrigued him. Below the larger seal were a few attempts at the drawing on a separate smaller scroll as a fine tipped brush and ink container sat on the right end of the smaller scroll. Its similarity to the explosive seal helped the man in putting it to memory as he picked the brush back up and began to inscribe another two seals onto the paper scroll.

Etching every detail into memory as he traced the seal for a third and fourth time now, still slowly as he continued to commit the new fuuin inscription. A few minutes later before the man was at ten repetitions. It was slowly becoming muscle memory as he withdrew a single piece of parchment the size of a normal explosion tag before he dipped the tip of the fine tipped brush into the dark liquid. Removing it gently he made sure to dab off the excess ink and then put brush to paper as he traced the seal. Each stroke appeared well practiced from the previous ten drawing as Kasai could almost create the seal without using the original as a template. Finishing the seal the man placed his hand over it and imbued chakra within the fuuin before removing his palm from the paper.

Using his left hand the man took hold of the paper note and with the other withdrew a single shuriken upon which he attached the Ignition seal onto. With a flick of the wrist he launched the throwing star out the barely open window as it struck a small bench in the courtyard outside the house. Then with his release technique the tag began to burn before then exploding like a normal explosion seal but it released a burst of flames that caught the bench and a nearby bush on fire from its release. The man raise an eyebrow as the flames on the tree slowly died out and only small tendrils of smoke where left. An explosive tag that threw out fire…so this was what charge fuuinjutsu was capable of.

‘Interesting…’

The man had learned just the previous night that explosive seal could be altered to create a type of elemental style explosive seal, the ignition seal. A seal that exploded sending out a combustible explosion that was capable of catching things on fire. Zao had been a bit skeptical about the seal until he had tried it himself after studying upon it from the larger fuuin scroll, which led him to this new elemental explosion tag, the ‘Dampening Seal’. A type of suiton seal which explained in the larger scroll upon exploding would cover a small area in water. Slowly the shinobi’s right hand began to trace the seal which like the one before it held a resemblance to the true explosion seal, making it easier and more familiar to inscribe onto the practice scroll but at the same time it would also make it easier to confuse with the other two types of explosive fuuin. To commit the seal to memory would require several hours of repetition, the man even continued to practice his inscription of the other two explosive style tags that he had learned over the past week constantly.

For the young man there could be no mistakes, every stroke needed to be perfect and this was no exception as the hand traced five seals while only stopping to refresh the ink upon the fine tipped brush before starting again. After about fifteen minutes the man set the brush down gently to the right side of him near the ink jar as he glanced back and forth from the actual seal upon the larger fuuin scroll to the ten new seals that had just recently finished. The man checked every detail of the seals against the true example, briefly picking up the brush to cross out four out of the ten as they had minor mistakes while four of the other six he would make small corrections to these as well. Feeling confident in his ability to create the seal now the Reaper reached over to a small stake of six inch by two inch pieces of parchment and removed the top one from the stack and without a moments hesitation began to transfer the correct seal onto this note for a little test.

A minute later the man stood up and walked over to the door of his humble abode and gently slide open the door, preferring to step outside to give the seal its first test run as he moved about ten meters outside after slipping on some sandals. Finding a bare spot of ground in his courtyard he knelt down and pushed the seal flat onto the sandy dirt and using a single hand seal channeled chakra into the seal for a moment before stepping back a few meters toward the small house. Then making a single handed hand seal the man used the release technique to initiate the note as a small trail of smoke gave way to a small explosion. Not a moment after the small explosion water shot out from where the tag had been placed as the man brought his left arm up to cover his face as the small mass over water flew onto him as well. Letting out a light sigh he lowered his soaked arm to see that the small tag had covered the nearby (five meter radius) area around the epicenter in water.

‘Perhaps I should have stood a little further back…’

Scattered across a short table were a series of explosive seals, though to the untrained eye it would appear that they were all the same but in fact there were three different fuuin. One was of course the normal explosive seal, the second being the ignition seal, and lastly was the damping seal. Each of them an explosive seal only the later of the three being elemental style explosion tags. But they were not to be the last as the man reopened his large fuuinjutsu scroll and unrolled it to the seal that he had left off on a few days prior. Today’s was the ‘shocking seal’, from the subtle differences in this seal compared to the others and the description written along with the seal seemed to reference that it was a form of weak raition releasing technique.

‘Hmm, this could be interesting.’

The man extended his left index finger and slowly traced over the seal, forwards and backwards, letting each small detail become committed to memory, tracing it over and over within his mind. Pulling a couple blank tags from a large stack of premade blanks before removing a small brush and ink capsule from within his small pouch. Gently placing the ink jar down and unsealing it the man took hold of a fine tipped brush in preparation for the first stage of outlining and practice tracing of the new seal design. The tip of the brush was submerged within the thick dark liquid and then removed as brush was put paper now in a slow continuous single stroke that inscribed the major body of the ‘shocking seal’. Next was the finer details that truly differentiated this seal from the others, but only someone with a little experience in fuuinjutsu would even notice.

‘Hm. That’s no good.’

Zao shook his head slightly as bright blue hue eyes noticed a very slight difference in the original seal and his own copy. Then upon closer examination he also noticed a second mistake upon the copied fuuinjutsu as he then pushed away the copy with the finger tips of the left hand. A second tag was pulled into its place now as the brush was dipped back into the ink and the man started once more with a long continuous stroke that completed the main body of the seal within a few moments. Once more came the addition of the smaller more miniscule details until he stopped suddenly, he had made a miss mark and noticed it immediately. Exhaling slowly the man drew back the ink tipped brush and pulled another tag and began retracing the seal again, slightly slower and more deliberate.

The end result was a perfect copy of the original shocking seal, slowly he stood and stepped out the partially open door that led into his large courtyard into the cool morning air that had yet to be warmed by the morning sun that was only just beginning to rise now. The young man moved only a few meters outside the door before stopping, kneeling down the young man placed the tag upon the ground and took a few steps back before using a single hand seal to release the tag’s seal and in a moment after activation the seal exploded. A static charge was released as the man extended his soft looking right hand as the static energy shocked at the hand causing it to twitch as the shock ran up his arm. Pulling it back instinctively he smirked…not to bad.

The wind element was probably the man’s favorite element, if he had to pick just one, it’s destructive power was always impressive and he felt that it also offered the widest range of attack capacity when compared with the other elemental affinities. Which was why the young man smirked lightly to himself as he continued to read through the large fuuin technique scroll that was a manual for learning a multitude of sealing techniques ranging from novice to expert. Yet, the seal he studied tonight under the flickering candle light was an explosive style of seal that when used could create a small burst of slicing wind, appropriately the fuuin was named the ‘Slicing Seal’. Zaoi’s small table was already prepped for the night’s duties that had already been planned out from earlier that morning when the man had made a trip down to the village market to check in with his former master and teacher to procure some more scrolls, ink, and fine tipped brushes that were suitable for his constant fuuinjutsu practice.

The soft, almost woman looking right hand already held a brand new, fine tipped brush that was enroute toward the open container of dark ink while the left hand carefully removed a single precut five inch by two inch rectangular tag from a dwindling stack. It would appear that the man would need to take the time to cut out more parchment for the tags as during his practice sessions it was easy to go through ten or fifteen while not even counting the ones with errors or mistakes in their inscriptions that were thrown away. Like the previous elemental style seals he had been learning the inscription was similar to the explosive seal which made it easier to draw after all the former tags the man had created but could also make it easier to confuse it with any of the other explosive seals. Golden eyes trained themselves onto the blank tag before the ink tipped brush touched down lightly on the stiff paper and began to draw the outline of the ‘Slicing Seal’.

It was a pretty simplistic looking seal in its design alone, but looks tended to be deceiving in the ninja world, which was especially true for fuuinjutsu. The first attempt was complete but the man had accidently mixed part of a previous seal he had just learned with the new seal, shaking his head lightly to both sides the tag was crumbled up in the left hand and tossed off to the side before another was drawn from the short stack. Six more iterations were completed before the older man was finally satisfied with the craftsmanship in his inscription of the seal. The other notes were tossed away like the very first and the almost perfect tag was attached to the end of a kunai before it was launched out the half open wind that let in the cool night air. From outside a simple thunk was heard as the weapon lodged itself into the sandy soil outside the window from before the sound of a small explosion rocked the silence. A glance revealed a number of small cuts that sliced into the ground and nearby patio chair…another successful night.

It was a rather cool night as the sun had already long fallen over the sandy eastern horizon of Suna's great desert allowing for the scorching evening temperatures to almost plummet over fifteen degrees in only an hour or so, from a point of view of Zao it was now 'cold'. On this even the young man was found within his courtyard that sported some basic patio-like furniture and a few different potted plants and flowers that the scholar like to keep for their appearance and fragrances. Though to night the man was seated on the soft, sandy soil in a lotus position with each hand resting palm down upon either knee, reflecting on his reading about a specific type of charge fuuin that allowed the user to actually utilize their own raw chakra in order to draw out a fuuinjutsu formula pretty much anywhere of their choosing. This even included drawing it out in the air itself! What a thought this was to the young man would had been painstakingly drawing seal after seal to the point that nearly his entire down stairs was covered with extra pens and brushes, jars of ink, along with a multitude of scrolls and premade blank tags. To a point it was beginning to become overwhelming to the young man which was another reason that he was outside on this star filled night contemplating the technique.

Of course by his side was his trust worn looking notebook which he had transferred the knowledge from the larger scroll to it along with a could different methods he planned on trying to perform the technique as well in addition to the ones already supplied in the training scroll. Finally his set of bright blue eyes came into view now as both eyes slowly opened to the moonlit courtyard now, slowly one hand extended out in front of him as all the fingers except for the index finger now curl down into the palm giving the appearance that he was about to point at something. Focusing his chakra the man manipulated the chakra and attempted to precisely control the chakra channeling it directly into the tip of his extended right index finger now. The action caused for the finger tip to be bathed in a dim light of blue chakra before Zao began to trace a simple small circle with the finger which created the chakra based outline of a circle. The chakra soon faded away as did the chakra in the man's finger tip. It would seem that it was indeed possible to creature pure chakra based fuuin formations but they wouldn't last lone and the user would to be perfect when drawing the formulate as most likely they wouldn't be given the time in battle to attempt a second one.

The ninja was not found within his nice home in the market area on this day, but instead he was found beneath the streets of one of the many districts on his morning before dawn. Zao was led by a much older man Hitachi, his grey haired teacher and former master in his late-sixties. The pair moved through a series of underground tunnels that came to a locked metal do that seemed to be heavily reinforced as a seal was inscribed into the metal around the locking mechanism. The older man turned as the flickering flames of a single torch that he held in the left hand briefly illuminated his face wrinkled face as he spoke, the words soft as the man could barely hear him, as he was told to pick the lock.

"Go ahead an attempt to pick this lock, my young student."

‘Hmm, where are you going with this old man…..?’

Zao kept his thoughts to himself for the time being, having had plenty of experience at researching the task of picking a lock from his in-depth studies that he had completed when learning his 'master key' Ninjutsu technique it in truth was honestly a simple feat or at least it should have been. The man struggled in his attempts for several minutes as his eyes also studied the circular shaped fuuin formation placed around the lock, was this the reason for his inability to bypass the lock through ordinary means? Narrowing his eyes a little bit the older man just stepped past him and opened the door with a key and smirked back at the man before entering into the room while motioning for the younger of the two men to follow in trace. Sighing slightly, the Reaper should have expected some sort of antics like this from the older man and followed into the room that had a number of different sized scrolls scattered about from which his tutor picked up three separate scrolls and turned to leave handing each to the Suna-nin who placed them into his lower back pouch.

Both men exited and the older man explained for a moment about the seal and how it made any lock unpick-able and increased its durability at the same time. Finishing his short one sided conversation with Zao the man handed him a medium sized tag that held the same inscription as on the door. A few hours later the young man found himself within his dwelling in the market district, the handful of scrolls laid out neatly side-by-side on the kitchen table. As much as he wanted to see what lay inside each of them, most likely more fuuin for the man to learn about, the old man wished to perfect the ‘lock sealing technique’ that had been on the door. Like many times before the man started with practice drawing with pencil and pen copies before moving onto his handy fine tipped brush to more polished copies as the new seal occupied several hours of his time as the sun outside neared its noon position.

Quietly the man stood from the seat at his small table, in tow was a medium sized fuuin tag that was the perfect copy of the lock seal he had seen earlier that morning. Walking over to his wooden door that led out into his courtyard the man placed the seal against the surface of the door directly about the hand and lock, pushing it with the palm of his hand the other hand made a single hand seal. Chakra flowed from his soft looking right hand directly into the tag as it attached itself to the door and increased the security of the lock upon the door, a simple nod to himself was the only reaction that man showed at the completed task. As interesting and actually useful that seal may have been he was like a child who had been given a present with the other remaining scrolls back on the table top…he needed to see what lay within each of them.

“Back to more important things now.”

This is a fuuinjutsu trap. By placing a series of explosive tags around an area, no larger than 10x10, then inscribing a fuuin onto the ground in the center of the formation that links the explosive tags together with the seal. If someone walks within two meters of the the inscribed fuuin, the exploding tags will activate and explode.

Today the young white haired man found himself near his home village, preparing to test a trap style fuuin that he had been studying for the past few days and today he planned to test it out for himself. Slowly he entered between a series of four target logs that almost seemed to have placed in a diamond style shape with one another, this was a perfect area to step up the trap for testing purposes. Quietly the man reach down to the other thigh of each leg, letting the fingertips of the index and middle fingers for both hands grasp the circle hole on the end of four kunai, one for each of the two fingers on both hands. Then in a rotating motion the man spun around withdrawing and launching each of the kunai in a single motion, each of the projectile weapons striking a different log with a light thunk from each hit.

Tied to the ends of all the kunai used was a single explosion tag, dangerous enough on its own when used properly four could be rather deadly if all were set off at close range with someone caught in the middle of the following explosions. That part of the trap was taken care of, but that was the easy part as the man knelt down and began with a quick movement another kunai was removed with the right hand. Preferring not to waste time the man recalled the fuuin from memory alone for the exercise and with precise skill, the older man began to inscribe a medium sized seal into the ground itself with the blade of the throwing knife. The seal itself was more complex than some others on its left but it needed to be in order to instantly cause the adjacent explosive notes to explode all at once. Finishing up with the last couple details around the outer edges of the seal the man placed his palm into the middle of the seal and infused it with a small amount of his chakra.

‘It is done…’

Carefully the man removed his palm after the transfer of chakra was completed and he stepped back out of the formation of explosive tags as all that was left was to test the complex trap to see if he did everything right. A quick hand seal was made a cloud of chakra creates smoke appeared at his side before an exact copy of Zao could be seen now at his side. Giving only a nod to the recent formed clone it began to walk straight into the trap ahead, then it stepped upon the seal inscribed on the ground…but there was not an activation. The clone held up its hands to each side as if to say what went wrong before stepping off to the side as the man then moved forward taking its place not with kunai still in hand, it was then that it caught his eye. It was a gleaming error on the left side of the seal where part of the seal had been left out somehow. Removing a folded piece of paper the man unfolded it to reveal the same seal as he confirmed the discrepancies with the current seal.

Storing the example back within his white robe's pocket, the man squatted down and used the same kunai as before to finish the inscription, swinging the blade horizontally to finish the last remaining kanji on the ground. But sudden the seal began to glow…it was activating! The man pushed backwards to move out of the range as he was aided by the shadow clone which shoved him simultaneously allow him to escape from all but a tiny bit of the concussive force of the tag nearest him. The trap worked but it was a trap that he narrow escaped enough to avoid any series injury from. Slowly the man checked himself over finding only a few minor wounds though the shadow clone didn't have a chance to escape the formation and thus ceased to exsist. Exhaling slowly…that was almost to close.

Moderate WeaponShow
[Storage: Moderate Weapon]
C-Ranked Fuuinjutsu
Prerequisite: [Storage: Minor Weapon]
By writing out the needed fuuinjutsu on a scroll, the user is able to seal moderate weapons. These weapons are about the size of a normal katana to buckler shields. The size of the fuuinjutsu is directly equal to the object that is stored into it. Weapons can't be sealed this way in combat.

C Rank Jutsu = 1600 Words

The young man could be found within his dwelling at nice two story home on this day, just as on many days over the past couple of months and the man had the large fuuin manual scroll unrolled as the seal that was visible on the old parchment of the scroll was a larger seal then those the man had been working on. It was an advanced version of the Minor Weapon seal that he had learned early on when just beginning to expand upon his knowledge of sealing techniques. In most cases the size of the seal inscription seem to hold a direct relation with the size of the item that could be sealed within it, at least for normal fuuin as their were some extremely complex seals that could bypass this. There were two variations of the same seal, one more square in shape that would be better suited for sealing away defensive style weapons such as shields or the like and the other was more elongated and rectangular in shape which seemed more appropriate for use with swords or similar weapons.

Zao wasn’t really know for his kenjutsu as it wasn’t something he used often due to his medium and long range ninjutsu which often didn’t allow for an opponent to get close enough. Bright blue eyes glanced across the small table to a weapon rack near the wall, on it was a handful of different size swords ranging from a straight bladed short sword to a full size katana upon the top rack. The eyes fell back upon the longer version of the seal of the two examples and reached down on the right side of the table to retrieve an average sized scroll from a small pile of them, a purchase he had made a little while back seeing how fast he was going through them as of late. Placing the unrolled scroll down upon the edge of the table the man gave a flick of his wrist and the scroll began to unroll across the short table till it ran off the left edge and fell back onto the floor. On the top right corner of the table was his fine tipped brush and a few jars of ink, the already opened one appeared empty as the Suna-nin took the closed lid one instead.

The lid on the small jar of ink was opened and the tip of his brush soon found itself dipped gently into the thick liquid before being removed as the lower third of the brush tip was dyed a raven hue now. With the two scrolls laid out side-by-side with one another the man began making the longer strokes of the fuuin inscription first as those were the easiest to make and required less precision then the smaller markings of the inscription. It only took a few moments for the older man who was becoming very comfortable with writing out fuuin inscriptions to finish with the longer strokes as he turned his eyes upon the original seal to study the smaller and more intricate markings that made up the seal. Glancing back and forth at the larger scroll then moving down to add the additional markings the man slowly brought the mess of lines and kanji into its completed state. Setting down the brush across the lid of the ink jar the white haired man gave the ink a little time to dry before running the index finger of the right hand over each line he had created.

Comparing every brush stroke with that of the original seal from the fuuin manual scroll and it would seem that his proficiency was beginning to really improve by leaps and bounds as the man’s experienced eyes could not seem to find any glaring mistakes or errors. Even so the man this time went from right to left on a final checking process just to ensure that wasn’t something simple that he might have messed up on. After the second check he rose and walked around the edge of the table and moved over to the weapon rake on the wall, letting the left hand reach out to take to katana from its perch as he turned and walked back over to the small table as he placed it down upon the seal that mimicked it in size and shape. Using a one hand seal with the right hand the left hand placed itself palm first on the weapon as the man channeled chakra through the weapon and seal at the same time.

A poof of chakra smoke concealed the weapon as the jounin felt his hand drop a few inches onto the flat surface of the scroll as he nodded quietly to himself as it meant there was not a problem with the weapon being sealed into the scroll. As the chakra smoke cleared in a few moments it confirmed what the man already knew as the weapon had properly been sealed away in the new weapon sealing technique. That was all he had time for today sadly as the man readied himself to leave, he had a mission for the Scribes that would take him away from the village for a few days…

Zao found himself back in a place that he had not been to in a little while, as the young man pushed upon the thin wood door a small bell upon it rang lightly signaling his entrance into the shop as a light buzzing could be heard from two separate locations within the small building. A voice called out that they would be right out, the voice of an older man and the man which whom the scholar had come to visit this day. This place was the tattoo shop that was ran by a friend of his master who was at least twenty years older than himself and a man who took the work very seriously and already the very same man had come to learn about how one could make a fuuin permanent upon their body through the use of tattooing it to their skin. Though today was different as the man had come to discuss with the man a fuuin technique.

“Sir, it has been a little while.”

“Indeed.”

The two men were fairly similar in terms of personality, as neither were too fond of idle chatter and preferred to get right into the reason for meeting. Zao only needed to speak for a moment to the tattoo artist and fuuin master about the reasoning for him coming here today and the man simply nodded and motioned for the blue eyed man to follow him as they both disappeared into a back room. The room was simplistic in nature and had a number of tattoo related items within, as the man shut the door behind them he removed a ‘locking’ fuuin tag and placed it onto the door. They would not have any uninvited guess disturbing them as the artist turned and told the man to take a seat in the chair near the center of the room. Removing some of his gear and dark jacket the man hung them neatly onto the wall by the door and then moved to take a seat in the chair. It was now that the man began to explain the ‘Link' seal to Kasai, only confirming most all that he had read up on about the seal itself.

“We can start in a moment.”

Exhaling slowly the man’s bright eyes watched as the tattooist brought over a table and all the equipment that was needed for the coming series of tattoos. The reaper only nodded in agreement that he was ready to begin whenever the older man finished with the preparations. After a few minutes the man moved to the chair that Kasai was setting in and leaned it back lightly before taking hold of a small device that held a single tattooing needle within its tip. Then the old man nodded as the gloved fingers reached up and took hold of each side of the bottom lip and folded it down revealing the sensitive skin of the inner lip.

The tattooist then channeled chakra into the device as it began to buzz to life, dipping the moving needle into a small thimble of blank ink he then moved the gun just above the folded lip. Giving a second pause to let the man know to ready himself as it would be a fairly painful tattoo on the soft skin of the inner lip. Then he began as the man started to inscribe the fuuin inside the lip, droplets of blood started to drain into the mouth as Zao struggled to keep from flinching at the stabbing pain that vibrated his entire skull. The fuuin itself was small but needed the very delicate and experienced hands of the older tattoo artist before him. Dabbing the bloody tattoo a few times with gauze he nodded once more to the Reaper as Kasai then turned and spit out some of the remain blood in his mouth into a small bowl next to him. Wiping his mouth the man instructed him turn his head to the right as he was going to finish the 'Link' inscription behind the left ear, it was less painful and took around the same amount of time to finish. Quietly the older man whom had the same tattoo active the 'Link' seal using the technique. The man’s voice was barely a whisper as he channeled chakra into the new fuuin before it was transferred to the Zao's ear, channeling chakra into the seal on the inside of his lip Zao did the same as the results were the same as well.

‘How useful…’

On this dark night the man found himself down at a much different place then he would normally be found training, deep underground in the holding cells of criminals of the village known as 'The Pit'. It was there that the man had ended up after walking through several underground hallways and stone crafted walkways following an older ninja whom was an old friend of his master's had told him to seek out to learn a different style of fuuin that wasn’t found in the fuuin manual. Intrigued the man had soon after sought out the man who had already been told of the scholars coming and had been waiting outside the prison’s entrance which had been the previous events that brought the man into the depths of the unground system. The duo passed by several cells as neither gave a second glance toward any of the dirty clothed inmates as the prisoners seemed to back into the corner as the older man passed by them.

Zao wondered just what it was that this man did here, but at the same time he cared more about what type of technique he was suppose to be taught about tonight then what this man and those men under his charge did with this lot of criminals. Finally after passing through several long hallways of holding cells the two men stepped into a room with a few stone tables that had chain restraints upon them. Again the man pondered what all went on in this room but only briefly after they had entered two prisoners were brought in and placed face down on the tables before then being tightly restrained. Neither had on shirts on the older man motioned for him to follow and observe as they moved over to the first criminal and the man reached out with a single finger toward the man’s exposed back. The Reaper instantly knew the technique the man was about to use as the chakra started to become visible on the tip of the finger. Wasting no time the man went to work the engraving technique began to scar the coming fuuin into the inmate’s skin as the man grunted and tried to hold back any screams of pain for the moment.

The white haired man cared only a little about the man’s pain and focused intently upon the inscription that was being placed upon him as the man removed a scroll and began tracing the exact inscription as it was made. It only took a few minutes for the man to finish the seal, one that he knew all to well as a few moments after the younger of the two men finished his copy of the seal and rerolled the scroll tucking it away for the time being. It was then that the older man turned to Zao and spoke about the seal, it was a seal that drew stamina away from the person it was placed upon, effectively making them weaker and easier to control if they tried to get out of line or do something stupid. He smirked behind the half face mask as the man explained the technique and the inscription as the inmate was removed from the restraints and escorted back to what ever cell he had been dragged from. Be he couldn’t help but wonder what other seals the man knew or was using on these prisoners.

As the short conversation ended the man moved over and pointed toward the remaining inmate as the Suna-nin moved to the other side directly across from the Warden of the prison, removing the glove upon his right hand before extending just his index finger. Without regard for the inmate in front of him the man then began to carve into the skin of the restrained man as he tried to struggle but the restraints were too tight and all he could do was try to scream out in pain. The old man guided the Spirit puppeteer as he started with the longer markings of the chakra draining seal first as it was the base which made up the seal before moving to the smaller parts of the inscription. During which the warden took hold of Zao’s hand and used it almost like a brush of his own to ensure the smaller markings were done correctly. After a short while had passed he removed his hand from the finished seal and reapplied the dark glove, finished with what he needed to learn here as he headed toward the only door in the room.

The man had made the assumption that there was a stronger version of the standard explosive tag, probably the most used and common form of fuuin, that he was not even surprised when he unrolled the larger fuuin manual scroll to the next set of seals to find the ‘Bursting Seal’. From the reading that followed the inscription within the larger scroll it seemed that the inscription was capable of producing an explosion around three times as powerful as a single explosion note as the base size of the seal was increased as well to about twice the size of the original explosion seal. The man raised an eye brow at the thought of how powerful the technique could be when used again ninja who were used to the normal range and destructive power of the regular fuuin, it could be a powerful tool in the ninja’s arsenal.

“The Bursting Seal.”

He studied the seal, letting both of his hands trace over the three inch by six inch seal before him. It appeared almost identical to that of the normal explosion seal except a bit larger iin size being the most obvious detail that had changed from the previous version. Of course there were a few added smaller details in the overall increase in size but nothing that would be difficult for the man who at this point in his series of fuuinjutsu training had produced over a thousand copies of other seals as practice was the only true method to inscribe a seal into ones memory in the older man’s experiences. Once more the man studied over the seal, looking at each individual mark, line, or kanji used in the inscription before he would begin making his own inscriptions for the seal.

After finishing up his studies of the new seal the man got up and walked over to a newer looking shelf that had been constructed recently and upon this new shelf were several different types and sizes of blank scrolls that the white haired scholar had acquired from his fuuinjutsu mentor. Picking through the multitude of scroll he found one with the proper size, just over a foot in length that would be perfect for practicing the Bursting seal on. Moving back to the small table the man sat down and unrolled the scroll across the table as the fresh untouched parchment within was a bright white color but Zao was about to change that now as he reached across the table to retrieve his brush and ink to begin.

With methodical precision the man dipped the fine tip of his writing brush into the dark elixir, removing it slowly being careful to wipe off any excess that clung to the small brush head the man moved over to the blank paper. Now with a final glance back toward the original Blast Seal the older man started with the long, bold strokes that started to create the body of the seal which the positioning of everything else about the seal was based around. The fine tipped brush continuously moved between the jar of open ink and the new parchment as the man moved into the smaller marking and kanji of the scroll. It was a few minutes later that the man pulled back from his intense focus on the new fuuin that it was completed. While allowing the new seal time to dry his eyes scanned over it and found no errors when comparing it to the original example as the man then started to trace a second one now to pass the time for the first to dry. Another couple minutes would pass before the scholar set down his brush and turned to the medium sized seal he had drawn first and scanned it once more for any mistake or errors.

Taking out a kunai the man made a clean cut along the edge of the seal before he picked up the piece of paper a bit larger than is smaller counter part and walked outside to a set of three closely placed training logs about ten meters to the west of the small home and near the center of his courtyard. Applying the seal to the middle log and walking away the older man’s left hand formed a single hand seal before he used his chakra kai ability to activate the new seal as a thin wisp of smoke could be seen before the seal exploded with the force of three explosion tags. Normally a single tag would have only taken out the center log and slightly damaged the other but as he turned to observe the damage all three logs were destroyed from the force of the blast.

‘Excellent.’

The sun was setting over the western desert as Zao slowly walked down one of the many roads within the village, his pace slow but methodical as he bore all his normal monk like attire. His destination being the clan compound of his master which was not far now as he passed several shinobi finishing up their day but his eyes didn’t venture to the faces of any of them, not even caring to pass the casual exchange of pleasantries with any of them. Even after reaching the compound only a few of the clansmen of his mentor that he passed received even a nod of his shrouded head. Slowly he passed through a series of alleyways and then down a set of steps into a small meeting room where a few others had already gathered. He was greeted by Hitachi who as the men exchanged nods and moved to the other three much younger ninja.

These three ninja were there to receive some of the clan secrets, but such information was not passed so lightly nor was it done without some form of control. That control was something the young man had been studying in preparation for this night but this would be the first time he had used it on something other than paper and it would also be under the guidance of the elder man. After a decent time had passed and the meeting was about to adjourn each of the three would have a fuuin applied to their tongue to ensure that they were not able to talk about what they had heard on this day. The first two were preformed by the older man as Kasai watched closely observing every detail of the sealing technique that he had been practicing over the past couple of days in preparation for this 'test', as for each man after placing the seal the older man would chant over several things that they were not to speak of.

Completing the sealing on the first two the man then turned and nodded to the scholar as he had already started tracing the seal formation onto the much younger man’s tongue. Then he preformed the proper set of hand seals and placed his right palm onto the man’s tongue and began to change a list of words that would be triggers for the sealing technique. If the man attempted to try and speak any of the listed words that were all derived from their conversation then their mouth would become numb and they would become unable to speak. It was just one of the methods that the clan used to protect the secrets of the his master's clan and their history. Smirking from behind his half face mask the Suna-nin was were, he finished applying chakra to the man’s tongue as the fuuinjutsu was complete and he removed his hand allowing for both to fall to their appropriate resting places at each side.

“Speak..”

The man spoke a single word to the three as they each tried to talk about what they had just been told of the clan and in each case none of the three were able to speak about any of the words that the two men had forbidden them to speak. The fuuin causing their mouths to go numb stopping any of them from speaking for a short amount of time. It would appear everything was a success…
