Every day was more confusing than the last. Sachiko knew life would be different now, even as Akihito had sat her down in his office and gave her every warning he possibly could, every warning which she had completely dismissed and told herself she didn't need. She told herself she was stronger than those past, she was stronger than any who came before her. But already she had learned she was just too naive, and too quick to accept such a dangerous thing. The beast had been sealed within her and every day now it had become her constant companion. Outwardly she was now walking down a path through the marketplace, stopping here and there as she looked at toys, jewelry, treats, and so many other wares.
Yet Inwardly she was somewhere else entirely. A great willow tree grew overhead, shrouding her from the sun and beneath her feet was green grass. She sat on a cushion with her legs crossed under her and before her was not only a low table, but a three level version of go that she was still trying to get a grasp on. Across from her, on the other side of the game, sat a handsome man who she knew was only a representation. She hated him for it, and yet he never seemed to change. 'I thought you preferred this form? The first time I used him for you, you thought him some kind of beautiful. It was quite sweet really.'
Sachiko sighed mentally, rolling her eyes where only the spirit could see. 'Yeah well I know what you are, okay? Just because you look like some hot guy doesn't mean I'm going to forget what you are.'
Shishire gave a chuckle, looking across the game with sparkling blue eyes as he moved a single piece and motioned for Sachiko to take a turn. Sachiko of course sighed and wrinkled up her nose in thought, only bringing another chuckle from the spirit. 'Is that really the issue? Or is it because in this form I look so much like your sister's boyfriend...' And yet as the spirit spoke, it suddenly sat up straight. 'Company approaches.'
Sachiko had been staring rather intently at a necklace comprised of a dark chain, almost black in color, with a deep red stone. She felt as if a shadow loomed over her and she turned to see a mostly unfamiliar face. "Oh, hi." she said suddenly, staring at the man as she tried to figure out why he seemed familiar, and yet she couldn't place the face at all.
