She Said You're Such a Letdown

The day before had been an interesting one, having stolen what he thought was a high value package from some sucker Konoha kunoichi that had caught his attention. It had been almost too easy, and he had gotten away with it. He was sure he'd never run into her again, so he had taken the package home to inspect it. However, upon getting home he learned - much to his frustration - that whatever she was delivering was obviously of value because it had been sealed with a fuuinjutsu. There was no place to even open it at! And he did not seem to have the right skillset to undo the fuuin.

He'd considered outsourcing some help, but he had a feeling she had probably snitched on him to the village guards, and if any of his friends who knew fuuinjutsu opened it, they might see what was in it and know he stole it. Not a good situation to be in.

After another late night, Indra woke in the morning and got ready before tucking the package under his arm and heading off. He thought maybe if he walked around the village a little, he might get an idea on how to bust open the fuuinjutsu on it. There had to be some way, right? Fortunately, it was a bit earlier in the day now, around 9am, so not quite as many people were out. Though it was cooler, most people in Sunagakure were used to the weather so they were alright running their errands later in the day. And of course, visitors never really knew how it worked, so they were never bright enough to be out when it was cooler in the mornings.

Now what to do about this package...

After a some what restful night sleep Haruka woke up unexpectedly early her restless mind kept thinking about loosing that package. She tried to go back to sleep but after rolling around for a bit then she tried practicing chakra control for awhile. But even that didn’t help and she knew anything else would just make her more agitated and less likely to sleep. So she soon realized she wasn’t going to be sleeping any time soon. So she quickly got dressed in her usual outfit and made sure her backpack was securely fastened before she wore it and then quickly headed out to get some air and maybe some exercise.

She really hoped she could find that package today she didn’t want to fail her first mission to Sunagakure and they made that package sound important. On her way out she checked in with the clerk since she wasn’t sure if she would be staying another night and didn’t want to loose her room. She then headed outside where she would wander around for a bit thinking to herself about what she could have done differently. As well as hoping that he hasn’t been able to open it yet. Thankfully though as she was walking she soon saw him and without thinking started to move towards the little Devil.

Getting progressively quicker the more time that has passed. She was so relieved when she saw he had the package hopefully she could take advantage of this opportunity. She kept wondering what are the odds of passing by him like this. What ever the reason was she wasn’t sure if she would get another chance so she figured she had to take this opportunity and she would try to get the package back as soon as she was able to.

As he wandered through the streets, Indra felt a tinge of defeat creeping into his chest. It had been a fun little trip yesterday, messing with that pesky Konoha ninja, but now that he had the package and couldn't do anything with it, it all really began to feel like a waste. Sighing heavily, he'd hold the package with one hand and throw the other arm up in the air in frustration, stopping in the middle of the street. "What a letdown!", he'd call out in frustration. Scratching the back of his head, he'd walk over to a bench looking into a park and take a seat, placing the package at his feet between his legs.

He'd stare at the package on the ground, patting the side of his head with his palm. "Come on Indra, you're a smart guy. Theres gotta be a way to bust this bad boy open.", he complained.

Pulling out a kunai, he'd stab at the package with no success. He had tried that last night and it hadn't worked. He wasn't expecting anything to be different this time around, be desperate times called for desperate measures. What was the point of all of this if he couldn't even open the package. "I guess if it comes down to it, I'll just toss it.", he muttered, frustrated. Poking at it a few more times with the kunai, he was beginning to realize he didn't have many options. "Geez, I wish I had seen this stupid fuuin before I nabbed it, she had some decent stuff in her pack I coulda grabbed a sold for lunch or something.", well, probably not the best lesson to take away from this but it was something.

As she began to approach him it would seem he didn’t notice her yet which made her pretty happy and also relieved she hoped to get the package and leave. But it would be nice to gloat in front of him she tried to think of what she should do she figured no matter what she did he would try to make a stink. So in the end she figured a little gloating and scolding couldn’t hurt. It would seem he was focused on trying to open the package so she didn’t know how much time she had. Thankfully the seal was protecting it but again she wondered for how long would it last?

She figured she would have to act fast just in case that way she could minimize the risk. Thankfully she was fully rested now so she zoomed in towards him as fast as she could and would try to grab the package hopefully before he knew she was next to him. (45 speed) if she could successfully get her hands on the package she would try to yank it away with her full strength. (20 strength) hopefully that would be enough to get it away from him without any further trouble.

She didn’t know how strong he was but hopefully it was enough. If she could snatch the package she would then retreat to four meters away and see what he does. She wondered what kind of scheme he would come up with next after he realized he had lost the package and she was onto him. She kind of hoped he would try to call the guards so that she could show them the thief that tried to take the package. By now she was sure the word has spread to all the guards about the package it would be nice if she could hopefully get him in a lot of trouble.

It had seemed Indra had reached his breaking point with the package. It wasn't going to give. Frustrated, he would lean back against the bench, putting his hands out to the side and spinning the kunai in his hand. To his shock, he'd feel a sudden movement, a soul get very loud, and then a blur in front of him as someone showed up. They'd grab the package and back away quicker than he'd seen anyone move before. To his surprise, it was the girl from yesterday! Where was all that speed before?

Letting out a heavy sigh, he rolled his eyes and gave her a motion with his hand, closing his eyes and letting his head fall back, "You can keep it, I don't care." he said nonchalantly. "Surprised you found me. But, I couldn't open it, so I don't care anymore.", he was basically dismissing her. She had taken it back, she could do whatever. What a disappointing outcome! But what was the point, if he couldn't open it then it was worthless to him. She seemed awful pressed about it so clearly she really wanted to do whatever she was going to do with it. He doubted it was anything valuable anyways. Probably some village nonsense that would do him no good.

She was rather disappointed that he wasn’t that interested in it anymore, it meant that he wasn’t going to do something stupid or over the top that she could use against him. But eventually she realized that there could be a positive side to this and she just figured it was better this way she hoped this meant there wouldn’t be any further complications. So would then disappear by jumping on top of a building to get out of the streets just in case. Then she could see if anyone else was coming so could prevent further complications.

From there she quickly headed to Kazekage tower having been given directions by the border guards on arrival. She would be moving at half her top speed to conserve stamina (25 speed) the whole time keeping a vigilant eye out on her surroundings. Once she finally found Kazekage tower and dropped off the package with the receptionist there she finally collapsed on her feet and relaxed. She was thankful that the boy didn’t have a way to open the fuinjutsu seal. After a about half a minute sitting there relaxing she was about to get up when she got a idea.

She took out a big scroll and would then seal the backpack inside there. Then would hold onto the scroll and headed out of the office to see the boarder guards and explain that she was able to reacquire the package and deliver it. She then asked if there were any good restaurants around here so she could get a good meal in before she left. After she was done talking to the guards she would head back to the inn she was staying at and tell the clerk she was checking out. Finally she could go to the restaurant the guards suggested and eat her fill after a stressful mission.
