[Graded][PB] A request of a dead man.

Post by Zao » Fri May 18, 2018 1:33 pm

Things were much different within the noble caste area of the village, more orderly and neat along with being rather overly extravagant as the bearded man cloaked in darkness pushed slowly step by step through the last hours of the night after having gained access through a command token brought to him earlier that day by a simple messenger. With it his advances had been unimpeded up to this point as he crossed over into the largest portion of the noble area that was controlled by the Hirohito family which just so happened to be the great family that controlled his own small Yami family. This wasn't the first time that he would be meeting with the man known as Hirohito, Fukata but it would be the first time that he would meet this man whom now claimed the title of head over the entire principle family. Having worked directly for the family Kasai knew the man with a somewhat acquaintance style of relationship existing between the two but it wasn't until he had arrived within the borders of the village which he discovered that the man had taken over the entire family after the death of his father.

Time truly was like grains of sand that steadily slipped through ones fingers now, which up until not to long ago the old Reaper had been within the clutches of the same methodical force that slowly ate away at everyone around him. But with the creation of his elemental body time had much less of an impact upon him now. The area from the now which had burst into flames after reading it thoroughly through described a rather remote part of the great families inner territory in which one could be almost a hundred percent sure that no one else aside from other family members would be able to wonder into. It would have been considered ignorant to not have some form of understanding what this requested meeting would entail after discovering some of the items which had occurred within the recent past of the village, mainly focused upon the execution of the council and other things which the current Mizukage had put into place....'This should be about the place from what I can tell....'

Without the slightest of sounds the shadow of the large man emerged from the thick foliage of a tree line that turned into a small man cleared area that held a gazebo with vine covered lattés above and a small wooden table that at the most could accommodate three people and a set of only two hand crafted chairs. This appeared to be a place of retreat and relaxation for someone who he presumed was most likely belonged to the famed Fukata...it was about time to get down to the bottom of things.

Hirohito Fukata was a patient man by all accounts, one involved in Kirgakure politics had to have such a demeanour to last long. Entertaining guests was a trivial matter in comparison across from him sat Kawazaiwa Arata, a man who appeared more farmer than noble in his dress sense and yet he somehow held an air of superiority from the masses about him it was almost comical. To Fukata's right sat the eldest of the group, Shiimu Takahaki may have come across as a gentle old man but there was nobody harsher or more fit to lead the Shiimu Family. In light of the former head being murdered and no apparent living heir to take over, Takahaki had quickly taken the reins of the families' more grim business of Human merchandising and established himself as family head. Some of the Shiimu's products had built the very home they were congregating at, it was ingrained into the culture of Kirigakure deeply.

"Are you sure we have the man for the job?" Fukata was snapped back into focus by a feminine voice, a bespectacled lady was tallying up numbers as she spoke. As with most of the Karagata business always came before anything else, Karagata Fusako was no exception to this. She sat adorned in jewelry styled with Kraken iconography rather proud of her heritage, Fusako had been not been a member of the council during the incident that had brought them together however she was fully aware that a potentially destabilised government was bad for business.

"Fukata has worked very hard in narrowing the list of candidates down, I think we should at the very least give him the benefit of the doubt." Fukata twitched slightly at the casual use of his given name, such was the way of their ringleader Muramasa Hana. She held herself with the grace of a noble and the strength of a blacksmith, it was likely she knew her way around a forge too although Fukata had never asked.

"Just as long as they aren't too young! I can't stand the gall of some of the brats these days." There it was Shiimu Takahaki's two Ryo to the conversation, it usually was some complaint about something or another as if he had nothing better to do than to criticise his way into an early grave.

"The sooner we have this business sorted the better, it is almost harvest time; I have far better things to be doing with my time." Kawazaiwa Arata spoke through the chewing on a stem of wheat, his speech was not as refined as the other members and his direct demeanour did nothing to help Arata's case. Out of the entire group he was the most sceptical of this plan, as far as Arata was concerned the village would always need food and if he supplied there would be no issues. His involvement was more personal, his aunt had managed the family prior and held a seat on the council. While he had not been overly fond of his aunt or her preference to sadism it was a matter of honour, at the thought of Miki

"Ah, you are a little early, excellent punctuality." Fukata cut across them all as his attention was brought to the arrival of Yami Kasai, the quintet of family heads began to eye him up and down as he made his approach both acknowledging his presence and appraising him in a single action. "I am afraid the table space is occupied at present, do feel free to make yourself as comfortable as possible." Fukata gestured at the space that had been occupied by Arata, Takahaki and Fusako around the table. He himself stood over them all as if he were a foreman inspecting the work of his employees, Hana had taken to leaning up against one of the corners of the gazebo.

"He is older than I expected." Takahaki remarked as if he was in any position to speak on a person's age.

"Now, now. I don't think we are quite ready to throw around remarks such as that let us first get acquainted." With that Fukata went straight into introducing the members of this gathering to Kasai, they regarded the stranger cautiously. "I trust you had no issue in finding the place, would you like some refreshments?"

"Has he even mentioned why you were summoned here, Yami Kasai?" The Muramasa girl spoke once the pleasantries had been set aside, she for one found the social niceties of politics to be the worst part. It would be easier if you could always just throw an assassin at the problem.

"Greetings Fukata-sama." A young man had found the approaching old man and had brought him quickly to the well guard area that all the family heads had current gathered themselves to discuss this matter and find their tool for its solution. Kasai personally knew the man from the Hirohito family and had come due to this man's request and in turn only offer greetings to this man along. But the whisper like voicvoice that slipped out of the vearded man's lips was like the voice of death.

Despite its soft tone it easily reached the ears of everyone present today amd those that heard it would have a chill run up their spine and the hair on the back of their neck would stand up as the aura od death and suffering lingered within this old man's voice. He had made a simple dismissive gesture of his gloved left hand towards the mention of seating, he knew exactly why he was here and didn't plan on making his stay of any significant length with these group of the younger generation.

A set of golden eyes shifted around the faces of those present as their gaze managed to look past some loose locks of xrimson hair that had fallen in front of the retired shinobi's scarred face at the moment. As thre female's voice was heard, that same lingering gaze suddenly became sharp and piercing as it fell silently upon that woman who he also recognized ad being from the Muramasa family. It would seem she had become the leader of this generation of family heads and the gaze from the Reaper was one that caused otherto feel as though the old ninja could see directly into one's very soul.

"With Fukata-sama's request for me to come here after only signing back within the village's walls for a single day and a current situation of the village it is obvious." The old man's voice was the scene whisper like volume but remained like it had originated from the angel of death himself asit fell into the ears of those within this room. "You desire the man who caused your family's current situation to die." Another pause in the Reaper's words occurred asa bart amount of killing intent followed off the man almost like an invisible aura.

It was the feeling like the old man before them had stacked three dead bodies of hits enemies as high as a mountain, then formed rivers and lakes with their blood, before them barking in their blood. The man before them had forged the path a through the blood from his accomplishments for their predecessors who had led the counsel. Yet, more he was the only one still remaining of that generation sadly. Kasai was an old man bred in the importance of the village's history and traditions... with the killing intent assuming to fill the entire roomto the point that weaker ones would begin to fillas though it was strangling them he spoke one more. "You desire for the death of the Mizukage..."

Fukata resisted his urge to shudder at the sound of the man's voice, Fukata raise his palm to his forehead sighing slightly at the blunt way the Reaper had put it. He was joined by similar sentiment from Takahaki and Arata, he certainly held little discretion in political matters but that could mean he would be as malleable as they hoped. No, Fukata was certain that he had chose the right person.

Muramasa burst out in a fit of laughter, it was very unladylike as she violently slapped her own thigh bent over with laughter. "You are right Fukata, this one is a riot! I appreciate someone who can get straight to the meat of the issue." She finally spoke as she wiped away the tears of joy that had formed around the edge of her ice blue eyes, she faced Kasai with her full attention once she had calmed bringing back a degree of decorum to the meeting. "Kyuudaime has taken things too far, we have spent the past couple of years attempting to bring about his downfall it is true."

"Attempting to be the key word, he has become more reclusive lately making it harder to get anyone near him." Takahaki cut in, the elderly man seemed to make it a habit as if his two Ryo was worth more than anyone else's opinion. He likely thought it did, he may have the outward appearance of a kindly old man but he was a viper under the flower, a wolf in a sheep skin or a demon in the guise of a man. Fukata held back the urge to spit in distaste of the old man, though he imagined the eldest member of their group would outlast them all. Glances were shared between all the members present, they were in an alliance of necessity more than of choice and that created it's own tension at times.

"We certainly don't want to have to resort to such means if it is avoidable, though we have heard ru-" Fukata began to say before he was interrupted mid sentence, another sigh was released from his lips at this. He had said they didn't want to resort to such means, as far as the five family heads were in fact concerned it had already gone that far.

"This can all wait, I am still doubtful he is the right man for the job, granted his only recent return to the village leaves him as an unknown that has just as much potential to leave him as a liability to us." Arata spoke with a disinterested tone, he clearly did not expect much from Yami Kasai.

"Let him fight Hibiki, that should be enough to satisfy your doubt." Karagata Fusako still not looking up from her book keeping, she didn't even need to look as Arata gave his nod she raised her hand up skyward and circled it in the air. A shinobi in a Kirigakure flak jacket dropped down from the roof of the home, the Shinobi paid his respect to the family heads before taking up his place along side Fusako. "Hibiki has been in my service since I was a little girl he is loyal to a fault, kill him." She ordered Hibiki in a casual manner, as simple as if she had just ordered the execution of a common criminal.

Hibiki turned to face Kasai, he placed his hand on the hilt of the blade at his own hips. He advanced on the Shinobi in a rapid fashion attempting to move past Kasai drawing his blade and sheathing it as is custom with Iaido, the blade aimed to take Kasai's head clean off if he did nothing to react to it.

The old man listened to the words spoken to him by each of the you family heads, though it was only the man closer to own age know as Takahaki that gave him the feeling of a true snake in the grass. From how they spoke it would appears that this task was something that the group specifically in this room had been working towards for a couple months at the least. Which led the old monster to wonder about just what these individuals had been up to before his arrival. Yet, it would appear that his sudden appearance had worked its way into their planning process due to Fukata.

But it would appear that their were still some skeptical people in the room, they knew that the Reaper had retired and had been one for a number of years now. Though it was doubtful anyone but the Hirohito who had been killed on the council knew the true reasoning behind the shinobi's time of departure back then. Kasai was interested in the notable mention about how in recent times the Mizukage had become more of a recluse, withdrawing himself as of late. Most likely he knew that their would be those against his actions and he would use this time to draw them out and eliminate them just as he did the council member.

The crimson haired man knew the Kage, had works with him before he became the Mizukage and had a good grasp of the man's persona. It was even reasonable to think that john his return that old man would be notified and have someone tail theformer hunter nin because he could be an unknownthreat to him. Or perhaps the kage would only recall the broken version of a old legend who had faded away. He couldn't be sure at this point but neither avenue truly concerned the man at the moment. Even as the one family spoke about his disappearance openly the man simply swept his golden gaze across him momentarily as it was something that couldnt be refuted.

He was being challenged, their appeared to be no one here whom even remembered exactly whom this old monster even was before them. As the sword user dropped from the ceiling and recieved his order from the busy lady Kasai simple brought his left hand up and motioned for the ninja to come on over, an almost devilish looking smile appeared on the man's lips changing his expression for the first time since arriving. He was fast. The other shinobi moved in a linear fashion, his attack and movement pattern exposed to the battle harden and experience man before him as he took his first step now.

But what might of come as a shock was that Kasai did not draw either short sword from their sheaths at this moment, instead he stepped firward with speed that even surpassed the swordsman. Flipping the the left hand palm out he recieved the attack as rock protruded from the palm not only blocking but ensnaring the blade for a moment. The old man's right palm had also mosted in the same moment to deliver a power palm strike directly tothe chest where the shinobi heart would be. However this was not a simple attack, a spike of rock formed at at near unseen speed and power.

If it connected the sword user would discover the spike of earth from the man's elemental body would pierce straigh through his chest, into his heart, and out of his back. The old demon had not held back in the slightest, after all they wanted for him to do their bidding and take care of the Mizukage. But what would happen after that point, would they desire to get him out of their way also? However much it pained the man on the inside to attempt and take this younger man's life, it had sadly been brought about by the young woman he protected this time. He would be used as the example of what it meant to doubt or go against the Black Reaper, to demonstrate that he was just as deadly if not more so now after his return and that this would be the end result of any who attempted to be malicious toward him in the future

Hibiki did not get much change to contemplate the consequences of his actions, his death was swift as the spike pierced all the way through. Blood sprayed across his master she did not even pause in her work despite this, Hibiki hung limply from the Doton spike until it was removed to which he would crash to the ground with a wet squelch and loud thud.

A slow clap came from the elderly Takahaki, the display had brought about a general consensus of approval. "Most impressive, it seems your time away hasn't dulled your skills nor your senses Reaper." Takahaki now acknowledging the reputation that Kasai had built for himself, he seemed rather pleased with the result. "If that isn't enough to convince then nothing will, I think our time can be better spent filling him in on his task."

Fusako paused in her work at long last, she gave a disappointed glance down towards her fallen bodyguard. "Fine by me, I expect you to compensate me for having to disprove your doubt though old man."

"I apologise for putting you to the test when we are asking you to achieve something for us, I am sure you understand the necessity what we are asking is not a simple task. Yami Kasai, the Mizukage has become increasingly recluse as was mentioned. Keeping only shinobi exclusively loyal to him close by, nobody has been able to gain access to the Mizukage's tower." Hana moved towards Kasai as she spoke, circling around him while she laid out the current situation.

"We had a plan in place to deal with those guarding the tower itself, the issue we had was dealing with the Mizukage himself your return couldn't have been timed any better." The lady stopped in front of Kasai bringing herself fact to face, it was only here did her age show as from a distance she seemed quite youthful the years had certainly been kind to her.

"How you wish to go about dealing with him specifically is entirely up to your discretion, our resources will be at your disposal for this venture." Fukata interrupted Hana's speech as she made her way back over to the other members, he of course did not mention that with total discretion also came complete responsibility they could pin the entire thing on Kasai if the attempt was to fail.

"Just remember once the deed is done without our support bringing the populace under control will not be an easy task." Arata reminded Kasai of the importance they held to the plan, usurping even with the best of intentions was no simple task. He continued to chew on the

"I have already paid off any members of the guard that were able to be bought, they will switch sides once we begin our attack. Hibiki was going to lead the team assaulting the tower, he will be easy enough to replace however. Our calculations currently have us set to gain total control of the tower within two hours, that time may be reduced drastically if you deal with the Mizukage within that time frame." Fusako spoke as if this was just another business transaction to her, clearly the youngest of the entire group but her reputation as a businesswoman made her more than qualified to be included in present company.

Fukata stood up from his seat motioning a servant to clear up the table, a slave move towards the area his mouth sewn shut likely to stop any secrets being spread from the household. "If you have any suggestions we are of course open to considering them, you will be at the greatest risk after all." Fighting the Mizukage was not something any of them took lightly in the least, it was not just a trivial task as far as they were concerned. Fukata suspected that the Mizukage already had an inkling that someone was plotting against him.

Post by Zao » Thu Aug 30, 2018 5:04 pm

Their truly wasn't a single hint of emotion, perhaps a bit of sorrow within his heart for killing a shinobi with some decent skill, but it was easily rationalized away as someone who had drifted from putting his life on the line for his village and instead had left it in the hands of the big families; perhaps it was better stated from the man's perception that his life was put up for the wrong family as he truly only head respect for the Hirohito, after all. He more or less ignored the back and forth chatter between the body guard's 'owner' and the elderly man and shifted his golden gaze onto the woman approaching him now.

Both the man's hands returned to normal as the earthen spike seemed to retract itself back inside the right sleeve for the time being as waited for the woman to finish her movements now, as though she was somewhat still sizing him up and as she passed in front of him seven foot tall man tilted his chin down allowing for him to look at her face-to-face. She had some decent courage or pride, which ever it was, to stand before the monster of a man as the middle aged looking woman began to spit out information for Kasai now.

Finally the man seemed to be getting some relatively truthful information from the lady, though the information was something one could have figured out on their own. After making such a bold move it would seem his old comrade had tightened up security and restricted movment within the Kage tower, something that would be expected after his actions. Most likely he even knew that those actions were going to force the big families into this type of situation, which caused for the old man to wonder about just what else the Mizukage might be plotting. Was he planning to pull the village away from the hands of those families? Kasai was truly interested in what the answer might be but he would most likely only be able to discover it by asking that man to his face.

Glancing up from the woman before him the Reaper allowed for his gaze to fall upon the current head master of his respected family, Fukata, before he spoke to him, "I can guess that the families have already been making preparations for this." He responded with somewhat of dis-interest in his mention of the families resources as he wanted more so to understand what progress the others had made on getting into the tower. It would seem that money could buy loyalty of some, at least false loyalty anyways. Kasai would make sure to figure out just whom those shinobi were so that he could keep an eye on them if he was able to succeed with his own monumental task. Yet, the man's eye brows narrowed briefly at the mention of bringing the populace under control without them being not such an easy task.

Though Kasai didn't refute the side mention, as if they were trying to tell him that they were important, he truly held the other families with very little regard having only loyalty to his own. As Fusako spoke it only confirmed more of what he wanted to know, the less time and energy that he had to spend getting into the tower the better it would be in the end. After all, Kai was not an ordinary shinobi either. "Our Mizukage is not a weak man, I only have about fifty percent certainty in being able to defeat him. As long as your words hold true then I won't have to waste to much effort in making entrance into the tower."

"You all seem to have considered everything very carefully, I can only say that such a response is already most likely expected from our Kage. So, I may not be the one at the greatest risk after this plan is put into motion." Kasai was truly concerned with the reasoning of the Kage and what he had been planning after dealing with the counsel. "I only need a day to prepare myself, send word when you have your troops ready." Time was truly of the essence but the old man still had something that he needed to do before attempting this near suicide mission that was for the good of his village. "But I must let you know something, this is not something that I'm doing for any of you all. It is for my village and for the respect that I held for your predecessors that were on that council."

Having nothing left to say and having obtained the information that he needed to proceed on with things for the time being, expecting them to contact him when they were completely ready to begin this complexe and dangerous operation the tall, crimson haired man turned slowly around in a methodical manner now. Leaving his back to the group as he began to walk away towards the same way he had entered now

Kasai was escorted from the grounds out of courtesy for his status than any act of hostility, once left outside he would find the streets of Kirigakure in a far more dire state than when he had left. Nobody had seen the Mizukage for months at this point and it had begun to show amongst the people, as he left the estate a carriage pulled up alongside him it looked rather out of place in this particular street. A rather fine piece of craftsmanship it would take most people two lifetimes to be able to afford such a carriage, the interior seemed to be just as luxurious as Kasai would find when the door opened.

A rather well dressed official sat alone within, he seemed to be someone of import which he verified himself once he spoke. "Good sir I am on urgent business for the Daimyo, could you point me in the direction of the Mizukage's office." He certainly didn't sound as if he was from around these parts, nor had he been to Kiri from his obvious lack of understanding that the tall tower in the center of the village held what he seeked. The man seemed to earnest and perhaps a bit too dimwitted to be able to lie elaborately, his face was an open book which was a poor quality to have in his line of work and would likely mean his career would be short lived.

"In fact! Just get in and direct us there, it would be far easier." He flashed the Daimyo's seal to further show the authority with which he held, without further adieu he moved back in the carriage to make space for the Shinobi to enter. It was only as he did so that a bodyguard came into view, he seemed like an over decorated Samurai at best nothing that would give Kasai any trouble in the very least. The interior truly was luxurious the seats were soft and even the smell was divine, a small incense stick burned to continue that fragrant smell blocking exterior scents from invading the carriage which made it excellent for long journeys through back end nowhereville and yet less relevant in Kirigakure.

The old monster's thoughts were spilt between the place he just stepped out of and the place that he was headed towards currently. That place was in the exact opposite direction of the kage tower when the sound of horses caused for the Reaper to lift his golden gaze as it landed upon the rather ornate and elegant carriage rapidly approaching. It would seem thathe seven foot tall self and dark attire made him stand out of the noble crowd within this area of the village and was most likely the reason the individuals speed.

"That tower. " Kasai turned his child gaze behind him and looked the gloved right hand towards the direction of the massive tower in the distance within the center of the shinobi district. Though the mention of business from Daimyo only slightly interested him, this was mainly due to the fact that the so called Daimyowas only that in name and the Mizukage and the council had always made the vast majority of decisions for the country and the village. Strength was what gave them the powwr do sue this, the strength of the kage and hia shinobi.

At first the old man was just about to turn and continue on his way before the man brandished the Daimyo seal, but this didn't even manage to get the man to raise his eyebrow in the slightest. This person had truly never been to the village and most certainly didn't understand how the power cycle between the kage and Daimyo worked. All it caused for him to do was ro shake his head back and forth for a brief moment before a thought came to mind now. Kai had ahut himself away after the council had been taken care of but what was he waiting for.

This had been something that was still puzzling the reitre ninjaa and perhaps this matter from the Daimyo had something to do with what he wished to know. A sinister like smirk that would cause many to second guess themselves or step away from the individual appeared on the man's scarred face as he gave a nod of approval finally. Ignoring the man's two bit bodyguard the Reaper ducked to fit his large self into the carriage and its luxurious interior which he gave a silent nod of approval. Perhaps this man could get him into where he wanted to go, though not to fight his old rival but instead to see what he had been thinking with his actions..

The journey to the Mizukage's building of office was relatively short, the young official was gawking at nearly every aspect of the village in wonderment further confirming Kasai's suspicions on how little this person knew of Kirigakure. The carriage made it's way through the multiple rings of the Village, outside the carriage all manner of folk went about their daily activities. Children played, adults worked, the elderly imparted wisdom or waited for death. The carriage flew past a sparring ground where a pair of Shinobi were honing their craft, everything on the journey to the Mizukage's office spoke volumes to the way of Kirigakure no Sato.

As the carriage pulled up on the final stretch to the tower it began to rain, the sky seemed to pour it's might down upon the village there was little distance between the large drops that crashed to the ground in a frantic manner. Quickly puddles began to form on the cobbled streets leading up to the entrance way of the tower, a low wall surrounded the entrance to the tower not for any defensive purposes after all the Shinobi guarding the tower would have been plenty to deter most attacks not to mention if the Kage himself were present.

The low wall served as a form of parking space for the carriage to pull up at the bottom of the steps that led up the tower, once it had dropped of it's passengers the carriage driver moved off to go find more permanent residence while he awaited his master's return.

The entrance to the tower was a rather grand sight, rightly so to reflect the status of the supposedly strongest member of their society in many respects it could be mistaken for a palace as much as a governmental institute. Each Mizukage had redesigned the tower during their time as was their right, some had undergone more simplistic features but Kai was not one of those he wished to display the power he held as a reminder. The steps themselves moved up to the large doorway of the tower, either side of the tower stood large stone sea serpent statues below them fonts of water rippled as the rain hit them. Grand banners hung from the sides of the entrance displaying the Kirigakure insignia proudly on a background of royal blue.

"Damn this weather, what a dreadful place this village is." The official muttered somewhat aloud, he didn't get very far once he attempted to ascend the steps. The fonts of water at the base of the serpents began to shimmer unnaturally so as they began to rise and take form, a pair of shinobi sprung from the water features surrounding the Daimyo's representative with an efficient response time. Kasai was not included within this encirclement, one of the shinobi held a thin needle like blade to the throat of the official. "Wh-What is the meaning of this?!" He began but was interrupted as the shinobi further pressed the blade's tip against his throat.

"Master Yami, the Mizukage has been expecting you go right ahead in we will manage business out here." The one with the blade spoke in a respectful tone towards Kasai despite his display of skill, both himself and his comrade had hidden their presence well within the fonts and had Kasai been a genuine intruder he may very well will of ended up on the receiving end of an ambush. They had shown their hand now showing that the Mizukage did not consider Kasai a threat as of yet, either way any element of surprise they would have had over Kasai was long gone at this point.

The other shinobi who had joined the needle wielder gave a respectful short bow to Kasai and gestured him to follow. Within the lobby was just as grand as the entrance way, the shinobi would have lead Kasai to the council chambers should he be willing to follow. He was brought through the petitioners entrance, as with everything in Kirigakure this room was designed to accent strength. A circular room layered into two different floors, the lower floor being the petitioner's floor where the council would hear requests brought to them. The council seats sat following the shape of the room surrounding the would be petitioner or in this case Kasai, they were raised up on the second floor of the council chambers and higher still above them all sat Kai on his almost throne like seat.

"Yami Kasai, I had heard you had made a return. What kept you from seeking an audience with me sooner?" Kai spoke as a monarch would address a liege lord, with the authority of his station but still a respect for Kasai's dignity.

Kasai only smiled at the mention of the weather as the rain actually made it feel more like home as it had not rain in the past few days since his return to the village. As they arrived at the Mizukage's tower the old man couldn't help but have a feeling of pride well up within his core at the moment, as this was truly one of the most sacred places with the cillage where the strongest shinobi ruled the village without fear. Less that was how it was supposed to be but for some reasom his old friend had made his bold move and instead of pushing through had instead turtled himself within this grand building. The cool rain seemed to be almost completely ineffective at soaking the man who walked a step behind the rushing diplomatic man...

The ambush of shinobi who appeared and encircled the group of outsiders aside from the large crimson haired man who was separated from them by a few meter, not surprised by their appearance in the least as this was one of if bot the most important places within the village; so of course it was well guard with some of the villages top jounin.  "Hmm." There was only a respectful nod given to the jounin who addressed him by his most formal of title, one he hadn't heard in a long time and it caused for the right corner of his lips to lift just so slightly.  Being invited into the luons den, the old monster didn't show the slightest bit of hesitation to venture within as he looked forward to seeing his old friend to an extent.

Where he was led to was actually a familiar place, it was the council chambers yet with any members within their respective seats as the man's golden eyes swept their gaze across the room it felt very strange. He had actually stood in this very same spot on a number of different occasions when he would face the scrutiny of the old men for his truly monstrously violent actions that had almost brought water country to the forefront of war. Though Kasai often refused to listen to their diplomatic comments as the man had aged and matured to be able to see past the individual skirmishes and battles he was now better able to understand their reasoning. Slowly his feet carried the man quietly into the very center of the room now before he allowed for his gaze to follow the rows of empty seats upwards to the throne like seat.

Upon it set his old friend who had become the Mizukage just before his retired from the ranks of the shinobi, dealing with the tragedies of losing two of his closest friends and members of the Seven, then soon after his wife passing away causing for their daughter to turn her back upon the village and betray the village. It had drawn the ma  so far down into the dark hole of the abyss that there had truly been no hope of the man ever returning alive and most wrote him off as a deadman never expecting to see the Reaper again. Yet, here he stood before the Mizukage back with the Hidden Mist village.

Kasai didn't answer immediately as he walked over to one of the chairs, the chair that had once belonged to the family head of whom his small Yami house belonged to. Gazing at the empty chaie for a short moment before lifting the demon like golden eyes back up to qhere Kai was seated at the moment. "Lord Mizukage, I am surprised that you are still able to remember this old man here. My old friend, things seem as though they are a bit different here in the village since I took my leave. The families seem to want you out of there way." The Reaper's voice that sounded like death was whispering through the large room expressed the man's thoughts forthrightly to the man who he considered a friend and power shinobi when they operated for the village back then

[PB] A request of a dead man.

Kai reclined somewhat in his seat, a gesture that he was not in the least threatened by the Shinobi before him. Kai had taken note of the reaper's observations of the room, he could only guess what was going through the man's mind at that moment. The Mizukage kept his face within the shadows aided by the hat of office that rested upon his head, he listened to that dry voice that departed from the Black Reaper's lips. "I seldom forget any one of consequence." It was a true statement, Kai had a knack for remembering faces and putting names to them. It was one thing for a leader to have a thorough spy network but something else entirely to utilise it efficiently, the Mizukage had only perfected the skill throughout his term in power.

A smirk drew across Kai's face at the mention of the families, he had been watching their movements for the past few months with half hearted interest it was only this most recent development that had gained his interest. "Yes, I imagine they do. This is not exactly news to me Reaper, Kirigakure has always been full of power plays and displays of strength." The Mizukage's response came after a brief pause for thought, Kasai had certainly been forthright despite where he had been seen only moments ago. Kai had made it his business to have eyes everywhere as any Mizukage worth his salt had done prior, he was not one for ceremony formality was something that Kai loathed more than dishonesty. It was refreshing to have someone be blunt with Kai instead of dancing around the subject. "Why have you come back Reaper? While your return isn't any cause for concern, the timing for it is somewhat convenient for some and inconvenient for others."

At one time of day Kai had been a hopelessly positive sort, it seemed that enough misfortune could harden even the most positive of people. He held back the sudden urge to begin coughing, the drain on his essence was beginning to take it's toll on him physically now. The smallest of cracks had appeared on the core that anchored his body of water, Kai had kept the secret of his elemental body well for many years and now it seemed like it was going to be the death of him. Kai had sought medical help under the guise of a routine checkup, when the so called expert said that he had never come across any such problem as what ailed him now Kai saw to it the doctor disappeared.

Nobody had caught onto his weakness thus far but it was only a matter of time, in Kiri where strength was everything it would be his ruin. The gears of his mind began ticking, one final plan amongst the many that he had brought to fruition Kiri needed a leader who was unwavering and the Reaper could very well be such a candidate. Along with securing the next Kage he could gain the next Mizukage the support of Kirigakure's Families in the same moment.

[PB] A request of a dead man.

A half smile formed on the scarred man's long face st the Kage's words of not forgetting those of consequence, something very few thought about the old man these days after his less than honorable departure so long ago. But it was the Mizukage's own smirk that brought a true smirk to Kasai's thin lips, "Yes, we've always lived by the words of Strength is the only true form of power. No one can deny that my old friend." He replied finally with the voice that sounded like the whisper from death himself, Kiri had always thrived on the fact that the strong reigned supreme over the weak.

"To speak honestly, I was only passing through on the outer islands when I found an injured chuunin from the village. Out of a small relationship with her senpai I brought he back. Though..." The old Reaper had begun to reminisce about the tale of returning the young woman back to the village and handing her off to the gate guards to rush her to the hospital that day. Perhaps he had grown a little bit soft in his older years or perhaps it was more so because of who the girl's teacher was and their prior experiences together with each other. But there was also another underlying reason why the former jounin had been traveling to the village.

Still paused in though the tall figure removed the golden eyes from the man seated high above himself and glanced down onto the back of his glove wearing left hand that had lifted on its own. To say that he'd never returned to the village over the number of years that he'd been away was a bit of a lie, as once a year the Reaper would infiltrate the outer edge of the village through special means. Though the man looked at the ring less ring finger of the hand that was no longer truly there, within his very core could be found a simple gold band from his marriage. It was truly the only thing that carried any kind of sentiment to the cold hearted old man.

"I had always wondered if you knew about my returning once a year around this time of the year, but I suppose that my means of stealth haven't diminished to much over these years of retirement..." There was actually the faint sound of laughter that slipped through the mouth of the old man now, a slight chuckle more so to himself as he then continued. "For today marks fourteen years since we buried Xuer, so much has changed since then it seems." The truth had finally came out of the Black Reaper's mouth, the actual reason he had returned had nothing to do with the actual state of the village, as he had actually distanced himself from it during his absence, he was here to place lotus flowers on her grave like he did every year.

"My old friend, I must be gping soon if I'm too make it to that special place before it gets to dark, but I must ask one question of you." Though Kasai had a place that he needed to be, a place that he would even push back the plan to attempt the big five family's plan to assassinate the man who stood before him now, he still had a question for the fellow old man before him at the moment. "What was the true reason you went against the traditions of the village and destroyed the previous council? " The golden eyed man was actually truly interested in the thought process of the Kage and what the reasoning for such a monumental decision...

[PB] A request of a dead man.

Post by Varian » Mon Oct 29, 2018 7:51 am

Kai listened with focused interest as Kasai recounted the tale of the injured Chuunin, the old man had apparently taken the time to return her to the village. Kai was doubtful this tale was the true reasoning for his return to the village, the Reaper that the MIzukage remembered would never have been so weak. He decided not to press it further but would insure to have some of his best spies follow Kasai for a time, as for his claims of returning on many occasions the Mizukage had heard rumours but had never been able to find anything to validate them until now.

Kai's eyes shifted at the mention of Xuer, so it had been fourteen years had it? Kai had not visited the grave for almost five years, a combination of his work and not wishing to dredge up old memories. Now he understood the true reasoning behind Kasai's return he was disappointed it seems the Reaper had grown soft after all, helping the weak and visiting those lost. Then came the question Kai had expected since Kasai had walked into the room.

"The council was a irrelevant relic that ought to have been done away with years ago, I removed it simply because I can." While not an entirely honest answer it was certainly founded upon truth he did believe the council to be irrelevant and that it's death should have come far sooner than it did, Kai thought them an element that weakened the grip the Mizukage held over Water Country and weakness was not something to be tolerated. "Will you be staying long in the village?"

Hirohito Fukata was enjoying a drink after a successful meeting with Yami Kasai, it seems that they could at last remove the butcherer who went against all tradition of this great village. He raised his glass in a silent salute towards the Mizukage's tower as the sun had finally set, a sharp pain shot though him forcing Fukata to gasp a cold exhale. He looked down and saw a large hole where his stomach had once been, his vision began to blur as he hit the ground with a loud thud then the fire started. His estate burned lighting up Kirigakure's night for as far as the horizon stretched, it was certainly a sight to behold.

Kai had at last dismissed the reaper, his plan to dispose of the rebellious elements was already taking effect and he had kept the reaper rather busy in the mean time so his interference was an impossibility. Night had already fallen by the time he had allowed Kasai to leave, Hirohito Fukata would be met with a tragic accident when his home burnt erasing any trace of assassination. As the Reaper left the Mizukage's tower he would be able to see the ferocious orange glow as the fire spew out smoke, the whole display originating from the noble district. Kai had at last identified all of the ring leaders in this would be coup, the Hirohito had unwittingly led the Mizukage to them all. "I should probably dispose of the Reaper also, it seems they wished to have him replace me. Although they would likely have had a harder time trying to control Kasai than they would have had me."

[PB] A request of a dead man.

"In the end it is your decision, Mizukage-sama." The old Reaper didn't disagree with the man's words that he had removed the irrelevant relic that was the tradition of the village to have a council to represent the members of the village, but more so mainly it was to represent the big families. And yes, as Mizukage it was his right to change things because he saw a reason to do so, even if the old man couldn't agree with him on the matter. Yet, he knew come here today that most likely the man before him would see him as a threat much like saw the heads of the big families that were plotting his demise. Sighing lightly to himself now the man turned to leave before stopping and turning back half way towards the words of the words from the Kage. "I suppose that will depend on you, my old friend." A half smile quietly formed on the corners of the man's scarred lips as he turned and left the room and soon departed the grand tower.

As soon as the tall man exited the walled in courtyard that lead into the tower, his golden irises turned towards the ferocious orange glow that burn through the lingering mist and drizzling rainfall, concentrating the man could easily piece together the origin of the blaze as the dark cloud of smoke formed over the noble district. It would seem that the foolish younger generation had been to slow but the man only shook his head, not expecting much from them as he felt it was hard for others to compare to Kai's and his own generation of shinobi who were breed differently. "Foolish children..." The famed Black Reaper only muttered under his breath before pivoting of his right foot and leaping into the air disappearing into the skies with a speed that left him unseen by many and only a few could even catch a glimpse of the black clothed, red haired legend.

It was only a short time later before the man touched down in the hills of his family land, he was the last in the line of the Yami if he didn't count his daughter who was still missing, having lost track of her after the last encounter they had when he had hunted her down. Letting her go that time was the only demonstration of love she had truly gotten from the black hearted Reaper who killed any who stepped before him no matter age or gender. His feet barely made a sound as he touched the damp soil but his arrival speed caused for the thin veil of mist to be blow away revealing a pair of graves that didn't appear to have been kept up for some time as the grass and dirt nearly covered them from sight and one would have probably of missed the two if they weren't paying close attention. Though with a wave of his hand wind swept past the graves instantly clearing all the tall grass and dirt from the area and the grave stones. One belonged to his late wife, the other to his only son.

Perhaps the Mizukage was right to think that the man who had been so cold hearted had grown a bit soft in his old years, but when all one had to hold onto was the memories of time past then it was hard for them to not grow a little soft. "My wife and my son, this might be the last time I speak to you in this manner. The next time might be in person..." In the darkening evening light the man would go on to talk quietly to his two lost loved ones' grave stones, his mind on what he should do next as those who wanted the leader of the village dead had most likely already met their own end. Was there a need for him to pursue this almost suicidal mission still?
