[Open] The Scorned Daughter's Return

There had been no need for his interference once the Mizukage arrived and the young Jinchuuriki was content to do as ordered and simply observe from a safe distance, flying about in the form of a hawk. The power of the Mizukage was incredible, beyond anything he had thought possible. He fought with a relentless overwhleming power and there was no question that had he been in Katsu's position he would have been killed with the first strike. He could feel Vorashu seething within, the power of the Mizukage reminded him of his rival Yoshimitsu, the Phantom Beast of Elements. And while he felt a fondness for Katsu and her animalistic ways there was a certain level of respect that came with such a display of power. If she were to fall against such a person it would not be due to any lack of strength on her part.

Shinjiro realized now how much stronger he could be, and would have to be to defend the village against others like Katsu or even elemental users that might rival the Mizukage. He had to expand his skillset to allow him to eliminate a greater variety of shinobi. This would be a lesson that he would carry with him. As the flames bellowed across the lake, evaporating the water on contact Shinji felt the wave of heat even from his position high up and far back in the air. He soared higher atop the hot air currents, circling slightly and still seeing only a wall of flame. It seemed impossible that anyone could survive that, especially injured as the prey was, even the water was a boiling pit of suffering and death.

As the flames finally subsided Shinji moved in closer, his feathers were wet with sweat and his heartbeat slightly faster than usual as he wrestled with some fear of his own. Transforming back into a person, large bat wings sprouted from his back as he landed on the stone slab next to the Mizukage. He tried to will out more chakra from the Genma and found that Vorashu was resisting heavily. He wouldn't be able to enhance his strength or utilize his most powerful transformations currently. And with his swords shattered he knew that the claws he could manifest nor any simple kunai or shuriken would be enough to do much damage. He could assist in tracking of course but the HHD had arrived, as a member of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist his job was only to serve as the Mizukage's personal elite force. Fortunately he already had tracked down a pair of much more powerful swords as well as arranged a procedure that would enhance his body further and turn him into a true instrument of death. If Katsu did somehow survive and they met again he vowed to hold the advantage next time.

Agony and terror, a world drowned by fire and water colliding. The sheer unadulterated power of primal fire, it was far too much to handle. Boiling water scorched flesh. However, after the sheer power of the strike settled there was a strange calm. "What the fuck. . . ." Even the parasite's hunger faded into oblivion at sheer awe. Eventually her muscles finally began to give out and the scorned daughter merely floated at the bottom of this lake, darkness encasing her in her own mind. "No. . . Nononono! SHIT!" Physical torment was replaced my realization. She had lost. . . And decidedly so.

In the dark calming waters the woman wept, allowing the hot yet soothing liquid to shroud her from the world. In frustration she lashed out, only to have careless aqua greet her. Finally, a few moments later, she emerged at the far side of the lake, the village only visible in imagination. The heavy mist still filled the air from the raging inferno. Frustration grew to tormenting anger as she glared in its direction. Her good hand gripped the mangled arm and clutched hard. "Vorashu. . . ." The talons on each finger pierced mangled flesh as her grip tightened. "I'm not leaving you again." With a final rip she grunted and screamed one last primal roar of fury, frustration, and pain. One final challenge as she discarded the still writhing arm and bolted through the tree line away from the scorched earth.

Katsu exits the thread.
