It was an interesting poster. Hidden off in the back alley in Kirigakure. Near one of the less frequently patrolled areas, a Poster was put up. It was roughly Square in shape and was primarily a photo of a genin with absolutely no emotion on her face. text above the forehead and below her chin read "Of course I am happy. Can't you see my smile."

It was a bit humorous. The text was meant to be read like the Genin pictured was saying it. Who was this genin you might ask? Well it was the very same genin that was presently standing in the alley way looking at it. Standing 5' 2" with clothing usually more fit for dancing and acrobatics than for normal shinobi work. Fushinokou Mate mirrored the image displayed as a joke. Her facial expression was completely erased as she looked at it. Her Headman's Haircut giving slightly to the breeze that swept through the artificial canyon.

It was unlike her to stop and stare at some random poster in an oft not patrolled area. But it was of her face. Who wouldn’t be at least curious as to why their face was being used without their knowledge? It was at least somewhat amusing. To anyone other than the clan that banned emotions from their lives. She was set to meet her rival and Chuunin today, so there was not much time to dilly dally around.

A can of contact glue laid empty at the top of the open trash can. Who ever used this apparently wanted to just ditch the evidence so they wouldn’t be caught on the street? Vandalism was vandalism after all.

Keiko curiously looked in the mirror as she stood in her bedroom, tilting her head as she stared down her own reflection. Not much time had passed since she had lost her left eye and the sight of that side of her face in bandages was still very strange to her. Luckily, it hadn't been too difficult to adapt and in a fairly short time she had grown used to maneuvering around with only partial sight. It was just that the sight of her reflection still at times caught her very much by surprise.

Resisting the urge to sigh she placed her cap on her head and headed out, ignoring the strange girl and even stranger poster that she passed on by. After all she was on a mission as today was the day she was to meet with her rival and she had no time to be sitting around longer than she already had.

However... something about the girl seemed vaguely familiar, almost matching the description she had been given of the fellow genin she would be teaming up with and so she made her way back over towards where she had seen the girl, tapping her on the shoulder to get her attentin.

"Say, what's your name? Your description matches that of a girl I'm to be teaming up with. Would you happen to know anything about that?"

Well she had wasted enough time here. Off to her meeting space. As she turned away from the picture, another person came up to her. She was only an inch shorter than herself. But she seemed to have a slighter build to her, so they probably weighed about the same. Their clothing choices were very different, however. This girl had worn so much, it would probably add to the sales, where as Fushinkou often did not have to worry about much, so they wore what ever made them comfortable.

However, all this girl wanted was her name. thinking back, she did not remember her from her academy class, so she probably did not know about the genin exam. Or her smile’s history. Bringing up her practiced smile, she ‘happily’ looked to the girl. “I am Fushinkou Mate. I am supposed to be meeting my rival as well this day. Should I assume you are Suara Keiko then?”

Another difference between the two was how they carried their gear. This girl had a sword on her hip. Mate had just a pouch resting on the small of her back, integrated with the belt that kept her skirt on her body. Her own gear stored within sealed tags. While her outfit appeared to show everything, in truth she disguised more of herself than possibly anyone could guess. Outward appearances were never what they seemed.

How much could she learn from someone who revealed cards like this? Showing off her sword on her hip highlighted that she was a swordsman. Possibly someone gunning for a position with the Seven?

[Diatenshi]

Tenshi looked at the orders on his desk with utter confusion. Him? Train genin? Granted it was a task that any chuunin could be assigned but HHD was usually separated from the rest of the pulling pot with their specialized focus and missions. Perhaps Shiv was trying to swell their ranks a bit he had recently recruited another that Tenshi found... Interesting. Regardless the researcher wasn't overly comfortable or used to social interactions.

He sighed and pulled out his old headband. He hadn't worn the thing in ages. It'd even gathered some dust from sitting neglected in the desk drawer. He tied it loosely around his neck. He sighed and looked back at the charts and reports he'd been working on. His projects would have to wait... Such a pity.

He exited headquarters through one of the many hidden exits spread through out the village. He made his way swiftly towards the designated meet up location. Upon arrival he analyzed his surroundings. It was a less than welcoming back alley though there was a singular bonzai that someone seemed to have been raising with particular care. Aside from the section cleared for it the rest of the alley was tagged in graffiti, old posters and littered with trash. Granted it still smelled better than corpses.

He was the only one to have arrived as of yet. He pondered if they ended up meeting up somewhere else. How bothersome. To search or wait. He chose wait. He'd give them a few more minutes to arrive after all. They weren't aware he was showing up so if they did meet somewhere else it wouldn't be there fault persay, though their orders were to report to the designated location.

"Well Pafu... Today seems like it's going to be a long one."

From within his robes an adorable little squeal could be heard responding to his cold dry voice. It was an odd contrast, one full of excitement and emotion the other robotic and lifeless.

"Suara Keiko, bled for the family Muramasa. Pleased to meet you." Keiko responded to Mate with a bow, her tone and facial expression both flat and unassuming, though she really was happy to have met with her rival and a possible new friend. From the abuse she had suffered, she had learned to simply not let her emotions show, and she very well knew that this girl had been taught not to have any feelings at all given what little she knew of the Fushinkou clan, and yet still this other girl faked a smile. But why? Perhaps she would get an answer to that once they had spent more time together but for now it was a mystery that she would simply have to ponder on even as she turned in the other direction and began walking.

"Now, we should be on our way. It simply wouldn't do for us to be late to our first official meeting." she stated very matter of factly, a very small smile briefly crossing her face. This was certainly going to be fun.

Mate listened to the introduction. She was beholden to the Muramasa. But she was not a Clan member. Interesting choice. Perhaps it was just the sword skills that they were likened to. The Muramasa were known as hard workers. They produced nearly everything for Kirigakure. the Hirohito she was beholden to were more political and knowledge based. Maybe that explained the difference in what they shown or hid. She had to assume that this girl would have the physical advantage on her.

After stating they should be on their way, Mate just nodded and walked away, tossing a paper towel in the garbage from when she wiped her hands clean from the poster. The girl seemed to be forcing through a smile. Huh. Was she actually trying to break through a mask of stoicism to try and be friends? That was just the complete opposite of her. She had yet to trust her rival, so the smiling mask was well worn right now.
