Path towards becoming a hero

Post by Trusted Grader » Mon Jan 23, 2023 11:20 am

The morning dew gave off a wonderful scent which the young boy had grown accustomed to, had it not been for the thick mist that nearly constantly covered the village then they would be able to see the beautiful sights the village could behold. Today was a special day because it belonged to the duo of the seven swordsmen, they were set on training a new style for Yuuto, a style that would safeguard him, even though he was already semi immortal, or at least as far as he knew, for the philosopher of Kirigakure no Sato had yet to taste the closeness of death like many other had, every time he believed he would die his body would just regenerate back to it's natural state.

This being the fact didn't mean that he shouldn't try his best to preserve his powers, so, Mondai suggested that he did like him, use a shield to protect not only oneself, but in order to protect others around him. Yuuto chuckled at the thought that Mondai had a monster of a shield that could almost withstand any strike yet Yuuto was standing in front of him with what appeared to be a wooden round shield, he picked it up with his right hand and tried to get a feel for it, it weight a bit more than he expected but almost felt like it naturally belonged there, as if he was always missing it.

Yuuto watched how Mondai raised the shield to brace himself for impact, he watched how his stance changed when he prepared for a strike and tried to mimic it himself, which frankly, was a bit harder than he expected as the move seemed rather simple but if done incorrect would probably hurt Yuuto more than it protected him. So he tried to get the footwork correct before he actually tried to brace himself for a true strike, he placed his right foot in front of the left one, angled to the side, while his shoulder was flexing and arm bent in order for the impact to reverberate from arm, shoulder down to his back leg which also stood angled in order to brace for whatever strike would come.

Yuuto left the stance position and quickly jumped back into it in order to be able to pull the move at any seconds notice, this was important because you'd never know when you got it. He elevated the shield higher and then tried again at a lower angle in order to protect his legs. Got it!

Guard
D-rank Taijutsu Stance
This is the basis of guarding, the user has the shield close to his body at a slight angle to the right completely defending right side and torso. The user is able to swiftly calculate where the strike can come to attack and can block the lower part of the body up to their head.

Yuuto celebrated his victory but internally, since he knew that he technically had only learned the bare minimum basics, to be able to guard with a shield was child play compared to what Mondai could do with his, although Yuuto did not expect himself to ever reach his level, for that wasn't the point of his shield skills, Yuuto and Mondai were very different in both combat style, personality and in morals, meaning that no matter how much he was trained by the young black man, he would still grow up to be different type of fighter.

Seeing as the adventures they had gone on clearly showed that Yuuto lacked the combat prowess to consider himself a full fledged Seven Swordsmen without feeling like he was still lacking, the young man chose to spent time training and becoming a better fighter, that way he could quell his lack of confidence in his combative skills, yet he still wanted to find a way to get around the whole idea of fighting, but that was for a later date, no, today he were to focus on being able to protect.

So he raised his Amendment sword above his head and struck the target dummy with all of his might, causing it to shake violently, he peered back at Mondai who seemed rather disappointed and showed him how to hold the shield up and strike at the same time, causing Yuuto nod as he understood. Just because you struck an enemy it doesn't mean that you should let your guard down, this was understandably missed by Yuuto as he had never fought with a shield before and seeing as this was his first time it was okay for him to miss the point, so he tried again, first putting himself in a shielded position, the one he had recently learned.

He raised his sword and struck the dummy, this time making sure that his shield stayed up as he struck the puppet. This time it unfortunately caused the puppet to bounce the weapon as he lacked true strength in his strikes, a sigh escaped his breath as he gripped the sword harder and tried again, this time taking a step forward as he struck the target, success, he jabbed it and hit the dummy from various angle, with and without taking a step but always making sure that the shield was raised as he struck. Perfect, Yuuto thought to himself as he twirled his blade and placed it back where it belonged.

After extensive training he has learned to keep the shield in away to protect as much of his body as possible even when attacking.

Next up, shield charge, a technique he figured would be rather easy right? Wrong, once again if used incorrectly then Yuuto could easily set himself up for a counter attack or even worse, just hurt himself like an idiot. It was never as simple as just, one had to master the idea around the technique just as much as the move set, when to utilise it and when not to, how and why was also important, considering that this was an entirely new style, Yuuto knew that things weren't going to be too easy, especially when he started to get into more complex techniques.

So he watched his comrade perform the move, he watched how he ran towards the dummy and how the shield bashed into it without Mondai taking any damage, which would be a perfect way for Yuuto to not only push people out of harms way but also protect himself and anyone he wants to save, it was a genius move that was rather simple yet effective. He can't believe that it took him this long to realise how efficient a shield would be against most ninjas, especially if they never faced someone with one before, it's crazy to think that most samurai rather chose their sword as their main way of protecting oneself when the obvious answer was there all along.

Yuuto kept eyeing his wooden shield and laughed at the idea that most people were preoccupied with attacking rather than defending, before he raised the shield up to eye level and braced himself as he was now readying his body to charge against the dummy. First attempt, he rushed towards it but slipped as he wasn't focused on his footing, causing him to crash onto the ground and on to the shield. His wrist hurt from the fall but would soon regenerate to the point where it was naught but a memory, save for the embarrassment he presented in front of Mondai, who laughed at him, after his pride returned he would pick himself up, dust off and then brace himself again for a second attempt, this time he not only focused on the target, the shield in his hand but also his footing. He rushed towards the dummy and soon crashed into it, allowing the blow to transfer from the shield, up his arm and down towards his legs, causing the damage to himself to be bare minimum while the dummy shook violently, meaning that the technique was successful.

Now came the time where he really needed to focus, this time it would be to get used to the weight of the shield and not specifically a technique that he was going to train with, no, what he needed to do was get used to it before he could ever go out in the field with the shield as he didn't want to be slowed down nor did he want to grow tired of carrying it, meaning that it would become a detriment to his health, especially since he used to just fight with his blades and not with a shield.

He nodded at Mondai and began to jog around the training facility as he needed to workout, he needed to exhaust himself and raise the shield many times in order to get used to it, to make it almost a part of himself, an extension of his protective will, become one with the source of protection. Yuuto thought back to his initial sword training and how heavy his weapons were when he was younger, and how easily he seemed to carry them today, and due to his elevated strength levels this shouldn't be an issue, all he needed was to get used to it.

He just wished that it didn't take so long to get it down, but truthfully he couldn't force it to go faster as it required his muscles to both be pushed to their limit but also to regenerate enough so his body almost merged with the shield, which interestingly wouldn't make him stronger at punching but mask the weight of the shield to the point where he almost forgot that he carried it, speaking of carrying it, he would have to figure out how he was going to bring the shield with him, as he knew that if he placed the shield on his back then the weapons on his hip would match perfectly, save for he couldn't pull it out with one swift move, maybe he should try to find a way to combine his swords? The idea floated around his head as he continued to raise and drop the shield during his jog.

What if the combination blade was placed on his back then he could draw the swords and the shield in one fell swop, though he'd probably use both hands but if he was smart then he'd run around with the shield in his hand from the get go, which again, was the reason for him training with it now, to always be able to carry if once he had entered a mission space. Truth is that he'd probably start having the shield ready at all times compared to his blades who were only to be used when situations called for it, though lately it seems that they were constantly called for, which made him question himself and why he found himself training with a shield.

Things needed to change lest he wanted to become a tool for Kirigakure who killed indiscriminately as that was how he saw the endgame of any Kiri ninja, he had seen how it had affected his father, Shinjiro and slowly poisoned Mondai's mind, it wasn't their fault and Yuuto knew that, it was the effect of having to fight for every scrap they could carry, it turned men into savages and savages to weapons of mass destruction. Lives meant less the more you took and Yuuto did his best to not kill anyone and so far he had done great, he had even created a cool style around the idea of knocking once opponents out, but now with the shield the style should be even better as he could now focus on attempting to take down his enemies without being harmed himself.

The shield started to weigh on Yuuto but at the same time he had been pushing it up and down for quite a while, in fact he had done so longer than he could when he practiced to carry it the first time, meaning he was making great progress, hell, he had forgotten about it until he came back from his train of thought, which was perfect as it meant that the training had taken effect, now all he had to do was continue to carry the shield it should always be in effect. Perfect.

After extensive use of the shield his no longer encumbered by his shield. Essentially never tiring from holding the shield.

This time Yuuto needed to train one of the better techniques when it came to shield efficiency, to be able to parry a strike, to hit them where it hurt, their pride. See, this technique was rather simple, yet hard to excecute as it required perfect timing, one couldn't just attempt to strike the targets weapon hand recklessly as it would most likely lead to ones death, so Yuuto needed to figure out how he would do this, the dummy had a mechanism that allowed it to spin to replicate a strike, which probably would be perfect to attempt the parry.

Yuuto grabbed the shield hard with his right hand and placed himself next to the dummy and nodded at Mondai to release the mechanism to allow the dummy to strike towards him, he would push against the wooden sword but as they connected the shield almost bounced back and hit Yuuto in his face, causing him to bleed from his forehead. He landed hard on the ground behind him and he could feel the rock hard ground as his backside crashed into it, the taste if blood soon took over his tastebuds and his vision blurred thanks to the hit he got on his head, his vision would soon be covered with blood, which fortunately began to coagulate almost as fast as it was running down his face, if it had not been for his magical regenerative skills then he would most likely have to stop training for the day.

So, he pushed himself up from his rear and grabbed the shield, he knew that there was only one way through this and that was via practice, and practice he shall. Once he felt his confidence return, he would grab the shield hard and prepare for another attempt at the parry movement, this time he would make sure to keep an eye out for the shields bounce back as he didn't want the gash on his forehead to reopen, because the throbbing pain from his forehead was already hurting enough. A sigh escaped his breath before a grunt was quickly followed, he took a step forwards and parried the strike, this time he used both hands which helped him not get hit by the blow back but still it wasn't enough as the timing was off and he had to use two hands, which wasn't the point of the technique in the first place.

He was a bit disappointed in himself, but he knew that if he continued to practice and just got the timing down correct then this would be a none factor, he should be able to do this with correct posture and mental fortitude, Yuuto attempted again, with both hands still and yet he missed the timing, blocked the hit but failed to parry the strike, he couldn't tell what he was doing wrong, yet he knew that he just had to try again and again, time passed as he tried to strike the sword in the correct fashion.

Yet time and time again he seemed to mistime it, something was off, maybe it was the fact that he used two hands, ergo making the movement a bit cumbersome and sluggish compared to only using one. A sigh escaped his breath as he knew what he had to do, he had to practice using it with one hand in order to time it correctly, so he did. With the right hand now firmly gripping the shield he would strike back towards the dummies sword, rocking it as the dummy almost rotated backwards, he had managed to strike it true but still he needed to time it somewhat better because if this was a true battle then the blade would still be able to harm him, especially if they had higher strength than Yuuto, which as not what he wanted. So he attempted again, this time he timed it so that once he saw that the blade was moving towards him he would strike back, hitting the base of the handle in order push it back, a good attempt but a failure nonetheless. This could be a technique he tried for another jutsu but it wouldn't work well with this one he thought so attempted again, this time he waited for the perfect timing and as he struck the weapon he watched the dummy rock and spin in the opposite direction, meaning that the had finally managed to get it down correctly.

If he sees an opponent wind up an attack he will cock his body and violently smack the attack away shaking his opponent balance leaving them wide open for a counter-attack. and if the opponent were to have a weapon smack it right out of their hand If he has more strength then the opponent the attack will successfully initiate.

Shield strike, another easy technique to mess up if done incorrectly, Yuuto knew better than to believe that he was above making mistakes when it came to the shield, or at least he had hoped at this point, he had already fallen to the ground thanks to his ignorance and hit himself in the forehead, causing blood to spill. He found it ironic that he was carrying a shield to protect himself yet seemed to be the only one causing harm to himself, he would chuckle if not for Mondai's laughing at him.

Another sigh escaped his breath as he grabbed the shield with his right hand and prepared himself for the next strike, he watched the dummy reset itself to it's standard position, this time it wouldn't move as it was deemed unnecessary for this technique, and in fact it wasn't really like the parry move, instead he would strike the dummy while it didn't move. The first strike seemed to rock his hand, causing him to drop his shield in pain, he had hit it in such an angle that all the shock transferred directly to his hand, which annoyed him but thankfully he had attempted this strike during training and not during a live mission, for that would've easily lead to his death.

Once his wrist had healed up he picked up the shield once again and grabbed it firmly, this was going to be a quick training unless his hand would blister up, which would then stop his training momentarily, well, it eventually did after the fifth strike, causing Yuuto to take a deep breath, he sat down and pondered what he did wrong, or if it was because this was how things worked, that you couldn't mitigate all strikes and you had to find a way around the pain? Nah, that couldn't be it, it surely was the way he gripped the weapon.

So Yuuto, after his wrist had healed would attempt to strike the dummy once again, this time using his weight to push the dummy while striking it, causing the dummy to shake violently and not harm his wrist in the process, this worked, meaning that he would probably be able to use it in real combat without risking self injury. Yuuto chuckled and celebrated because he had finally learned enough shield techniques where it could be useful in a battle without him bringing with his own death, or so he thought, either way this was going to be an interesting new style he had mastered.

Mondai acted as the teacher towards Yuuto seeing him badly utilize his personal shield made Mondai wince at times, but he was quick in terms of learning. "My father would wince and berate ya if he was alive and saw how you used that shield" Mondai said with a saddened smile, reminiscing over him and his father and their training when he was younger joking about it made him feel better but simultaneously worse seeing as he wasn't here to give them tips now Mondai had to fill that role. "Luckily he ain't here, but honestly as bad as it is, yer actually a quick learner! That's Shiv's son for ya, even if you are a bastard." Mondai taunted, which was in a bit of bad taste but while he justified it as "toughing" Yuuto up, eventually realizing that it wasn't the best move. And whether he admitted it or not, it was also a way for him to feel slightly better about his own father. "That was outta line. My bad Yuuto."

Regardless, Yuuto was learning quickly, if he combined it with his own fighting style it could be rather unique Mondai was honored that his rival and friend were taking inspiration from him. It gave him a sense of pride.

But he wasn't here to watch, he was here to learn as well. Training with Yuuto alone like this made him reflect on their fight with Chiane and how they got humiliated and in particular the shield wrench she did which made Mondai weary getting disarmed like that wasn't an option his shield was an essential tool to his kit.

"Oi Grab the edges and rotate my arm I'll try to let go and then catch it." Yuuto would likely follow suit since they were here to learn together and as Yuuto did he grabbed the shield successfully. Now Mondai won't be able to be humiliated like that again.

If Mondai notices someone trying to wrench his shield to the side to either disarm him, break his arm or try to flip him on his side. Mondai will let go of the Shield until they have finished the motion and catch the grip again, returning his shield to the rightful owner.
Mondai caught his shield back, likely as planned, and gave Yuuto a look. Pointing towards his shield. "Oi, ya can borrow my shield if ya want. The wooden does its job, but shit ain't the real thing compared to mine." Placing the shield nearby just to indicate that option was there to try out Mondai's shield, he had more than earned it for saving his life, and I'm sure even his father would give Yuuto the blessing.

Mondai was a master of almost all of his guards/wards, they all had their uses and counters to other attacks and guards. On the surface, it was all just stances but combined it would be a deadly combination where he can defend and counter from all angles he got chastised for it by his peers, most notably Aimi "Enough with the basics." crazy that those words lived in Mondai's head for this long, especially from someone he admired that turned traitor and against his country. Mondai hated the fact he could do nothing to help his village during the attack or convince Aimi to return, somehow that didn't matter now he had to become better now, not later.

Mondai switched his "falcon" sword to the two-handed mode immediately his father's ears rang in his head, and nostalgia hit harder than anyone else. "LANGORT" Mondai stretch out his hands and kept a strong core just as he did when he was younger. "WRATH!"

Mondai swung the blade back towards his shoulders and cocked his body ready to explode. "OCHS, SCHLÜSSE AND HANGING END WITH ALBER" And like clockwork Mondai swung his blade switching between each ward like his name's sake "Yūgana" Gracefully it was beautiful everything he learned has led to this moment. His status as a deadly swordsman now seems more legitimate than ever.

Yuuto was confused as to why Mondai apologized but nodded nonetheless, what he said was true, he was a bastard, but he did not expect his close friend to use that moniker on him. Shrugging and ignoring it, the boy listened to his friend and grabbed the shield and began to twist it like Mondai had asked, he watched how he slipped out of the shield and then grabbed it again, a dangerous move that could lead to him losing the shield, had it been Yuuto then he would probably try flipping with the twist but at the same time that is also a dangerous move to pull off as the target can just slam him while he is in the air.

What came next both shocked and confused Yuuto as he wasn't prepared to be allowed to carry Mondai's shield, especially now after his father had passed, he knew how much family heirlooms meant to him and to hold something so dear to him was a bit intense. "Are you sure? Like, I am okay with this busted shield, since I was going to train my body. I think I need to add another combat style outside of sword and shield. I was thinking of copying Chiene's style, kicking leaving my hands free you know? "

Yuuto scratched his fuzzy hair then turned to face the dummy as Mondai placed down the shield, he nodded then took stance, mimicking what he remembered from that faithful day then kicked the dummy low before quickly snapping his leg to kick the dummy in the head. The double kick combo, he felt how his shin cried out in anguish but due to his regenerative capabilities he knew that the pain would subside in a minute or two.

Maybe I should continue to do this until I don't feel any pain because the combo is down... Yuuto continued to kick the dummy over and over again, switching between legs until the was comfortable enough to lean into the kick, using enough force to rock the dummy side to side. He did his best to utilize his strength without breaking the dummy, which was a bit harder than he expected. He switched dummy to the metallic one and used the same combo all over again, this time using all of his force, he wasn't strong enough to dent it but enough to create a massive crashing sound each time his leg landed the strike.

Succsess!

It's a simple kick combo where the user kicks the targets leg or hip then delivers a second kick to the targets head to daze them.

With that set the young boy took a deep breath then moved back to the wooden dummy, he watched how his partner trained with his two-handed weapon and spoke in a way that almost confused him. The lowborn had a funny way of talking but he had never made fun of him for it, he felt that it wasn't his place to speak of it, though secretly he would mimic the voice whenever he quoted Mondai in his spare time.

Yuuto didn't have that many friends and therefor he tried his best not to lose what little he had, with a deep breath the boy looked over at the dummy and frowned. "Oh, Is that so? You think you are that tough huh? Talking mad drivel ey!? Well how about this!" Yuuto tried his best to sound tough but frankly due to him not cussing it all sounded rather comical, nonetheless, the boy kicked the dummy in the chin before the second kick would stop right before it hit it in the head. His control over his body was excellent but he quickly realized that if he did this move in a true combat scenario then he would probably lose his leg.

No, the cancel needed to happen earlier, when the target believed the attack was being used, so while they prepared to defend against the attack then he would switch up and use another move, and not when it was already too late.

So, he did the combo again, this time he kicked low at the hip and as he rocked his leg back and was about to swing it towards the dummy's head, he would stop midway and pull the leg back, tricking the dummy that he was about to dubble combo him while in fact he was planning on using another attack.

The final test before he went back to the drawing board, Yuuto took a deep breath and prepared for the comming attack. He watched the dummy closely and prepared to grab the dummy in the head with the inside of his knee. This should be an easy maneuver but I don't know if I can go through with this move fully on a dummy that is stationary... Damn... I guess all I have to do is at least do the bare minimum and see what I can do when it comes to a real situation. Yuuto nodded proudly before he bowed and prepared for the next strike.

He positioned himself as to be close enough for the leg swing to hid the dummy with the inside of his knee before the spun around and attempted it, the first attempt sent his leg bouncing back as he had put too much force behind it and crashed with his leg on the neck of the dummy, causing minor pain to shoot up into his brain.

He gritt his teeth but kept the pain to himself, the way he was used to for no one cared if the pacifist cried out in pain, well, at least anyone not Mondai and Shinjiro. What a shame, but it also came with knowledge of handling pain and knowledge of dealing with opponent in ways most people avoided as pain was something everyone seemed to loathe, even the pacifist.

If only he knew about his mother ey? Either way he attempted again, this time bending the knee as it came in contact with the head, wrapping his tigh and calf around its head, he knew that if this was a human being then he could continue the grab and push the target down to the ground but since it was a dummy he had to stop there.

Mondai mastered his moves and upon offering Yuuto borrowing his shield, he found it almost odd that Yuuto was surprised. They were rivals and friends, sure it was a prized heirloom but giving him his shield was a way to show respect to how much they have grown together. They met as kids, and they had both learned from each other, but it seems that his offer had flustered Yuuto.

Mondai reconsidered briefly before looking to Yuuto with a cocky smile on his face. "He!, Yer too nice sometimes, man. Yes, I'm sure otherwise I would neva suggest it. Also, really usin' Chiane's kicking style? That sour faced red-headed snobby bitch practically humiliated us, destroyed my shield and on top of that denying you dagger rank and calling me lowborn scum. But whatever ninja you do you." Mondai shrugged somewhat dismissively and annoyed at the mention of Chiane but a kicking based style while his hands were occupied with holding a sword being able to weave kicks and knee could prove useful. It also was rather surprising to kick someone whilst sword fighting as much as he didn't like where he got it from, Mondai couldn't reasonably argue that it doesn't make sense, especially for someone that was a pacifist and avoided killing like Yuuto.

However, Mondai was no such man this time clutching his mighty greatsword that laid neatly leaning towards a while grabbing, it was time for him to properly learn how to actually use this oversized sword. He was too weak when he was younger, but now he had the strength to wield Mondai didn't try to swing or attack, he simply passed it to each arm getting familiar with how it felt before slashing with a wild swings throwing it to each hand.

It was feeling more and more comfortable with each passing second.

As Mondai clutched his colossal sword looking towards Yuuto learning his kicks and smacking his legs over and over again allowing his body and mind to get used to the pain of kicking hard objects. His regenerative abilities allowed him to abuse his body more than the usual person, as "wimpy" as he seems from the outside, Yuuto's commitment and willpower to improve himself and help others was underrated in the swordsman's eyes.

Regardless Mondai wasn't there to speculate, he was there to train. As he peered upon his blade with its dull coloring and faint barely noticeable glow. Mondai felt encumbered by its hefty weight, but this was no different from his training with his shield when he was younger he was used to carrying heavy weapons.

Mondai knew that one couldn't fight as "Yūgana" as one usually did with his traditional sword and shield or long sword the large blade slowed him down and made it more difficult to swing around fighting conventionally with this thing was never the goal as evident by his father who used its massive weight and range to wildly cut and spin and flow to the next attack. In a way, its wild attacks were "Yūgana" in their own graceful way.

Mondai raised the blade over his head clutching it with two hands before bearing down it towards the dummy's feet, letting his own strength momentum, and gravity to the rest of the work crashing into the ground with its devastating weight. The toes and feet got completely cleaved into from the sheer destructive power of the blade a violent move that was sure to catch the opponent off guard a bit risky, but it being unusual could pose as an advantage and potentially catch someone off guard.

This was only the beginning first one establishes a base before moving on to more devastating techniques.

In this attack, Mondai will take one hand and place it on his blade and one hand on the hilt. He then lifts the blade up and smashes it into the ground after rushing forwards to get in range. This can be aimed at the head or feet of the target.
Raising his blade the weakest swordsman looked towards his dagger who was training his kicks intensively establishing a base was important because a wider base means a taller peak it was essential. The more complex the technique, the harder and risker it becomes meaning you can fall back on the basics.

As important as that was in Mondai's very practical world view it was also the most boring since almost always you already know how to execute the techniques.

Mondai hesitated to reflect upon his time with his father in the war as almost all memories were painfull. However it did reveal on how his father used the greatsword in battle.

Remembering the beaches of Oasis before thinking of the fighting inside the sand castle that had been create in anticipation of the battle. Mondai remembered how his father fought using a very momentum based continous attack to stave of the Windows country samurai.

His father even utilised spinning to stave of multiple opponents. After Siegmaru executed an attack he would continuously rotate the blade around his body or in a figure eight motion allowing him to use the weight and momentum to stave of fatigue and constantly attack without having to stop and redirect his blade.

Mondai sought to replicate that exact technique the shear size and weight of the blade could stave of multiple attackera and allow Mondai to attack more without stopping.

He swung his blade and rotated it around his head a few times before stepping in with a spinning attack essentially attacking behind him cutting a dummy before cutting diagonally using the momentum pulling it back and slicing diagonally once again doing that a few times more. Using the back edge sometimes aswell before finishing his oddly graceful and stylist fighting by slowing the momentum and letting it rest on his shoulders.

If his father was here he was sure he would be proud to see his son come this far.

Instead of stopping mid-swing with his greatsword like with normal swords. Mondai ha the option to instead use the momentum of each swing to lead into the next even spinning is used to keep up this momentum. This also allows him to utilize it's massive reach to offend multiple opponents.

Swinging the massive blade around gave a huge contrast to the lighter one handed or even two handed falchion that he was used to using. It was thick and cumbersome and almost got in the way of attacking normally. However it's sheer size put a strain on Mondai's body forcing him to push beyond his capabilities making hm more physically robust as well. But one question still lingered on his mind. Why Chiane? It wasn't as if he even liked her in anyway shape or form. They did battle and got humiliated in the dagger recruitment process. So stealing her style felt a little strange to him.

"Oi why take Chiane's style of all people? It's not like ya even got a chance form her." Mondai asked as he would continue refining his skill and training his body with his greatsword. Swinging it along almost passively as he enthusiastically waited for the gentle spirits response. Needing only to focus on his body in a His answer would likely be something that took Mondai by surprise or made complete obvious sense with some added context.

System one would take hold of his training while system two would listen more attentively to Yuuto as he explained his reasoning. Essentially training his body while his mind occupied more space.
