[Open] So Fresh, So Clean

Post by King of Cats » Wed Nov 01, 2023 8:27 pm

It was still early in the morning and Menma was just waking up. He was usually up at this time so it was nothing new for him to crawl out of bed and into his house slippers at the crack of dawn. It was foggy outside as usual and Menma wondered if it would rain today. He liked the rain, something about the permanent mist and a warm autumn rainfall cleansed his soul. Menma put his thoughts to the side and focused at the task at hand. He had to pour his coffee through the filter to make it, and he didn't know where the filters were. After rummaging around his kitchen he was pretty certain either he threw them out, or he forgot to buy some when he went shopping earlier in the week. He searched the garbage can and found nothing so he assumed his forgetfulness won another battle.

At this point Menma was pretty frustrated and in dire need of caffeine. Luckily he had some compressed pills of caffeine and so he walked into his bathroom to find those. He was pretty sure he knew where these were and fortunately he was right. Unfortunately he had to wait thirty minutes for the rush to come. Menma decided to make himself some breakfast. He went back to the kitchen, which was kind of messy, and when he realized that it was going to need a cleaning before he could cook he threw the idea of eggs out the window. Menma opted instead for some slices of salami rolled with slices of cheese. It was a good snack and would get him through the morning. He was lucky to have the day off from his usual ninja duties, so he planned on spending the day in the village where other shinobi gathered. He wanted to get to know his compatriots and hoped to earn a reputation as a great ninja through his time spent with the ninja celebrities of Kirigakure no Sato.

Once Menma was showered and dressed for the day he decided to clean the kitchen. With some paper towels and a bleach based cleaner he wiped all over his counters down, making sure to scrub the cabinent doors. Then he did the dishes using his brand new bottle of dish soap, there were a lot of dishes but he got them all clean in just fifteen minutes. Menma was a cleaning machine.

With the kitchen clean Menma helped himself to more salami and cheese before heading out into the village. He walked into the mist. His eyes had long since adjusted to the mist and he could see clearly through the village to where he was going. He knew the path like the back of his hand. He was heading to the Merchant District of Kirigakure. Usually there were some ninjas hanging out among the common folk and Menma wanted to be seen with them. He was so much concerned of fame as he was for the experience of hanging out with other accomplished ninja. People with talent and wisdom like ninja were a tier above typical company. Menma wanted to hear what his fellow contemporaries had on their mind. With his hands in his pockets he walked through the village to his destination.

Walking through the alley Menma happened upon a large fish shaped water fountain surrounded by shops. The buildings surrounding the fountain looked pretty nice considering where it was in the village and there were streets leading to the fountain from all directions. The water was clear as ice as it flowed out of the fountain and made a comforting sloshing sound. Menma walked over to his favorite fountain and sat on the concrete rail by where the water collected under the fountain. Menma closed his eyes and considered the wonders of life for just a moment. Freedom to sit by a fountain peacefully was legendary, and Menma had his village to thank for the opportunity. He felt thankful and sat with his eyes closed for a moment.
