Ran spat on the ground next to him as he crouched down, together with Kurai they found themselves hiding by the top of a rooftop, checking a building that was located in front of them. To most people it just looked any regular store, but what Ran knew was that this was his adoptive parents old store, where Iji and he used to work in, he knew that once the store closed and a new one opened that suspiciously still sold the same items they used to, that it had to be because Iji bought the store, why else would someone run a their family pawn shop? Unless it was a front?

Now Ran could be wrong but he figured that it would be the perfect spot to run a criminal enterprise, or at least have your main hub be there, for why else would so many criminal scumbags enter their parents pawn shop? It didn't make any sense now did it? He grunted and turned around, he sat against the chest high wall and looked over at Kurai. "We can either wait here to get some confirmation.... OR...." Ran smiled as he looked at Kurai, it seems like he almost wanted to ask him to put his life on the rest, but then he quickly remembered that he was but 11 years old. "Right, a kid.. Shit... Yeah, we either wait here or we bust down that door. What do you think kid?" Obviously Ran wouldn't listen to the kid, he just wanted to test his cojones, to see how tough this kid actually was.

Amaya walked down the long path that would lead her and her team around a large sports arena, here they could watch different warriors combat in a gladiator style duels or if so chosen a sport, but she wasn't there to see people fight, no, she was here to check and see if they could find either a thief or someone shifty, as she always figured that people who wanted to make easy money would attempt to sell you priced up tickets, now, what was the correlation between a random thug and Iji? Simple, it was that people who made illegal money usually knew other people who gained ill gotten goods, the criminal world wasn't the largest around these parts... Or so she thought.

She peered over at Wana, then Kotori before her eyes stopped at Hiroko, she smiled as she kind of reminded her of a younger Akane, which would then trigger a bad memory, a quick head shake would snap her back though, for she needed to focus on the mission at hand and not on her tragic past, that version of Amaya seemed to have been buried in the catacombs. "Okay check this out, a lot of scummy people tend to stick together, so I was thinking we perform a little recon mission and try to find someone shady who we can ask... " She looked at Wana who peered over at the arena and growled, it was almost as if they had begun to sync up, for the pet knew that interrogation was came easy when they spotted a massive hyena stand over them.

Amaya grinned and continued. "Now, we might not find one here but I believe this to be a good spot, otherwise we might have to recon a casino or something, but... Yeah, I don't think you two can enter unless you guys are good at pretending to be older? Via henge and stuff... It's a bit risky... " Seeing as henge only lasted for so long and a slight bump would cause them to return back to their regular form, which would not only get them tossed out but banned for life probably.

What to do indeed, she would leave it up to them to decide because she knew that sooner or later they would find the trial they needed, because one thing Iji never expected was that all they had to do was find a scent trail for Wana to follow, then it didn't matter if he tried to evade them via sensory, for the hyena's tracking ability was far greater than most sensors.

The youths knees were gently touching the roof tiles. His eyes were peering over the apex just enough to give him eyes on the target location. To him it looked like a typical pawn shop. Assuming that Ran was correct it was all a disguise, but to the everyday joe, it looked exactly like it should. A family run store that sold lots of different goods. Kurai even began worrying about whether they had the right place, but as soon as Ran began speaking that worry dissipated. Acquiring information about the locale was a great idea. Kurai was not sure how much use that would be, especially from their current position. They would find out the bare minimum, but the way it seemed they needed as much information as they could get.

With that idea in mind, Kurai threw down some idea to Ran, after all it was he who was in charge of this operation. 'Right... I have not done anything like this before so I'm not sure what the right thing to do is... But, I could throw a giant fireball into that shop and get them all to rush out. And when the guys is out, we just grab him... How does that sound.' The youth spoke without taking his eyes off the shop. It was apparent that right now there was not an awful amount going on, inside or in the street. The resulting damage from the use of the jutsu may be severe, but it would also give the village authorities more reason to investigate this place even further. Maybe beyond what they could in this short space of time.

Kurai waited patiently for an order. His young eyes still fixated on the target location, not allowing anything to go unnoticed.

Hiroko looks around the area as they are taken to the fighting arena. She’s never been to one before because saw no point in it. But now they were on patrol so she had to stay vigilant as she looked around the area. She made sure to check to see if she could find anything suspicious or of note that could lead them to their goal. When she heard Amaya mention info about what to look for as well as how to get it she would look on curiously and say “so why can’t we just gather people in the area up and ask if there criminal’s while taking measures to prevent them from lying?”

To her it seemed like a rather easy solution so she wondered why Amaya hadn’t thought of that? Is it possible she never heard of the genma? If so that would be quite surprising considering she was a jounin. she expected someone so high ranked to be informed on stuff like that. For now she would wait in case Amaya had a reason to not go with her plan. She was still a new chunin so she wasn’t sure what allowed as for as security measures for dealing with criminals

Kotori was pleasantly surprised to find that she recognised the arena to which Amaya led their small group; she'd been here before on a number of occasions while a student in the academy. This time, however, she didn't need to sneak in, nor hide beneath the old set of tiered benches to avoid getting thrown out. She smiled at the memories of watching the various fights from that hidden vantage point and trying to study their stances and techniques from afar.

Now, though, they were here on more serious matters. She listened to Amaya's briefing quietly, nodding along. It wasn't a bad plan, and this probably was the sort of place you'd be able to find more than a few people working the crowds, or fixing up some less-than-honest betting. With that in mind, she began scanning the edge of the arena while they walked and talked, and after a few minutes thought she spotted a likely candidate.

"What about him?" she gave a subtle nod towards her chosen target, a man who stood with hunched shoulders on a lower level at one side of the arena, where he couldn't be seen by most of the crowds. His clothing was nondescript, though a little rough for wear, but what caught her attention was that the man stood with his back to the arena's field. Where the crowds watched the fights and sports, this man's interests were clearly within the onlookers. He watched them with keen, shifting eyes. As she watched, a passer-by changed direction and stepped quickly towards the man, and they spoke just for a few seconds before something changed hands and they parted again. No joviality, no familiarity, but plenty of tension.

Kotori turned back to her two compatriots, and looked them over before shaking her head. Amaya, with that fair skin and blonde hair, stood out too much to anyone who knew the Shoshiki heritage. Hell, she stood out even without that. Hiroko looked a little more normal, but she seemed tense, anxious. No, it wouldn't be fair to ask her senpai to go down there. Kotori sighed and looked down at herself in comparison.

"Well, it's worth a shot to speak to that guy, but it'll have to be me, huh." With her hard-worn tunic, frayed and patched in several places, and the pallid hollow-eyed complexion that came from hardly sleeping for a few weeks, Kotori was the obvious candidate. She was the only one among them who looked poor and weary—because she was—and in this situation, vulnerability could be disarming. She reached up to her forehead and reluctantly removed the Iwagakure headband, then handed it to Hiroko as if it were a precious relic.

"Look after this for me, will ya? I reckon I can speak to that guy and convince him I'm looking for work. I know kids who've done this sorta stuff before," she said. The last part was only half true, but no need to concern the others with details. "Apparently gangs are always keen to recruit kids. We're quick." Quick and expendable. "Just watch over me, right? We can totally bully some answers outta people like this, but we gotta catch them first. Make a ruckus too soon and they'll scarper a'fore you've even made your first hand seal. You guys wait 'til I'm talking to him before blocking him in or catching him or something. Then we make him really talk!"

She waited a little longer to see if the others had any objections or better ideas, but if not, she'd slip away and lose herself in the crowds around the arena, then slowly shuffle over towards the shady-looking man. She smeared some more dirt on her face and hunched in on herself a bit, but luckily she didn't need to put on any great act to make herself look weary, hungry, and desperate. She stopped just within speaking distance to the man, but not looking at him, instead pretending to watch the events in the arena behind him.

"Hey," she whispered, making her voice hoarse. She coughed, then tried again. "Hey! You got any work, mister?" She turned her head at an angle to look at him, face drawn but fervent. "Please, I know you do. I'm your girl, really. I know the streets, and I'm quick. I'll do anythin'." She tried putting on a clipped accent, sounding like she was haggling about something already agreed, and pressing on before a 'no' could be given. "Please, I ain't eaten' in days. I'll work 'ard! Honest I will!"

Ran was surprised to hear the kids choice, he wanted to laugh but knew that if he did then he'd give him the wrong impression, so instead he punched him in the shoulder before he sucked in some air making a distinct noise. "You are a fool man, that's the quickest way to make our enemies notice our position and it would cause other jounins to rain down on us... Shiit... and I thought I was crazy." Ran shook his head, he couldn't say he was disappointed, in fact he loved his idea, just that the fact that it was his parents old store and that they were within Iwagakures walls was the main issue.

"Look, we could try... I mean... You could try to sneak in and you know pretend to be a costumer but that would put you at risk of having no back up, or we go in kicking and screaming, take down anyone in sight like a some renegade savages.... there be a lot of blood but... I'm not Amaya so who the fuck cares am I right?" Ran peered over the edge, towards the pawn shop. "Of course as long as it's real criminals in there and not... You know, granny trying to sell her old clock or some shit... Fuck... I don't know." Ran wasn't a good leader for a reason, he only cared about not getting arrested and finishing missions as fast as possible, because he couldn't be arsed to care about anyone else's feelings.

This was probably the reason why he even asked for Hiroko and Kurai, he wanted to attempt to live up to Amaya's old standards but due to their argument, he had totally forgotten and was set on his old ways, which was to kick down the door and just wave his two butterflies, make short work of anyone standing in his ways and then let the assistant take care of the paperwork. Shit, I ain't paying her to just look pretty...

Amaya looked at Hiroko and was a bit taken back by her response, it was true that she had no real clue how the Genma worked as they had never been under her guidance, that and the fact that a lot had changed since the last 7 years, but not to the point where kids could just randomly interrogate harden criminals and they would not get suspicious. She crossed her arms and rubbed her chin as she pondered for a second. "I don't know, I feel like if we just round up people and start interrogating strangers then they would most likely just escape, that or give us false answers or something. That and we will blow our entire operation as they could have companions keeping an eye out for each other, I mean, just because one looks like a criminal doesn't mean that they are... There's also a bunch of outlooks.." Amaya sighed.

But when Kotori responded and asked if one of them looked like a criminal, she would peer over at the man and nod, he appeared like one of Iji's followers, she could tell by the way he seemed rather uninterested in the event. It wasn't as clear cut as, I don't care, but the fact that he never peered over to check when they cheered was a bit odd to an onlooker. That was the easy part... Now we just got to... Amaya noticed that Kotori was looking at her up and down then over at Hiroko, Don't tell me that she is planning to, Indeed she was, before Amaya could speak Kotori and made up her mind, she watched as she removed her head plate which reminded Amaya that she was wearing hers around her neck as well, which surely would've given away that she was a ninja, even though hers was different.

No matter how well dressed the Shoshiki was, even though she was wearing Enkouten color, her white skin and hair was surely still a blatant remark, she grit her teeth and cursed her clan heritage before she would sigh and gently pat Hiroko on her shoulder, she would nod in approval at Kotori before she would whisk Wana and Hiroko to the side, making sure that they would not be visible for the scammer, Wana would be fast enough to reach Kotori within seconds if things went sour and worst come to worst she'd try to draw the scammers attention before Kotori got injured but for obvious reasons she believed the young girl to be safe.

Chiyo had been here for a couple of hours and had earned a large sum of ryo, but he knew that he could make more, that could achieve higher status if he could impress Iji. He was close to a promotion and he knew it, he just needed to find a way to double his income and therefore make his leader promote him, but lately he had been somewhat paranoid, he kept claiming that he had sense his "brother" close by, who ever that was. Chiyo believed that it was just paranoia from drugs or something but the fact that the leader needed more money was growing troublesome.

Isn't Iji rich as fuck? Why does he need more money for? Sheesh, he better start paying people more for all this labor... Chiyo would never speak these words to Iji, as he feared that he would just use his ninjutsu to end his life, a quick shrug and teeth click later he would drop that train of thought, right on time, for Kotori had made her way towards him and asked what he thought was a strange question. With a quick glance up, down and then the surrounding area, the scammer made sure that she wasn't being followed or watched, for such a weird question could only mean two things. Either she was someone undercover or... She was legit, but in order to see if she was legit he would have to test her.

"Is that so? Well why don't you tell me who the hell you are first, what skills do you have and I'll see what I can cook up for you." Chiyo stepped closer to Kotori. "Or do you expect me to just.. Pay you filthy scum for existing? Because... Nah you too young for that and I and not a child fucker..." Chiyo almost puked at the thought for Kotori was clearly underage. The 25 year old man rubbed his chin and scratched his 5 o'clock beard.

"You know what? I do have a job for you actually, it's going to hurt a little but it'l pay a lot." Chiyo laughed a bit. "You ever hear of a mule?" He tried to speak easy as he still had no idea who the dirty kid was or even if this kid was legit, he would have to test her out first.

Kurai let out a sigh after realising his own stupidity. He had not thought about the repercussions of just launching a giant ball of fire into the shop. Although the had somewhat made sure the area was clear of potential bystanders who could have gotten injured from the blast. But now that the youth had realised his wrongs and was presented with options, he understood how these things were done in such situations.

The Fukusha weighed the options. He wanted something with a bit more thrill, a bit more action. Something that would test him. Outright fighting there through the shop, and once again placing potential bystanders in danger was not the way to do things. With his eyes still fixed on the shop, the youth had made up his mind. It was going to be a sneaky kind of job. Going into the shop and building a bigger picture of the situation seemed like the safest and most efficient way of doing things, although he did understand the potential danger he was placing his life in. That was the life shining led, and he was okay with that.

Without moving his eyes away from the pawn shop. Kurai relayed his thought to Ran; ’I’m going to go in there, see what’s going on. If things get bad… I will need a way of alerting you.’ Having said that, the youth briefly shifted his gaze from the shop to the nearby trash cans places in the alley between the shop and mother building. ’I will place an explosive tag in one of those trash cans. If I’m in trouble I’ll set it off. It’ll only be strong enough to create a loud bang.’ The youth explained his idea and awaited for Rans opinion, as his eyes moved back to the shop. Kurai hoped this operation would go smoothly without placing any of them in the slightest amount of danger.

She would listen carefully to Amaya’s comments before saying “while it’s true they could have scouts outside this area that are watching and ruin our plan. The issue about false information isn’t possible, “ she then hears Kotori and says “hmmm are they really that fast? “ it was kind of hard to believe but she figured Kotori must’ve seen it before or something. She wondered how your average kid could be faster then her let alone a jounin like Amaya.

When Kotori mentioned the plan she brought up no issues with it but that didn’t mean she didn’t secretly have her own doubts. But she didn’t want to be overly protective and she didn’t know what Kotori could do so it’s entirely possible she would be completely fine with this.

When it came time she would head back with Amaya and see Kotori off Hoping the plan works. As she waited near Amaya she would hear bits and pieces of what was being said and she certainly didn’t like what was being said she would then tell Amaya “you sure Kotori will be ok? You sure this is the best way to accomplish our goal? Can’t we just surround him now that she’s next to him?”

Kotori fought to control her nerves and look casual as she waited for her target to answer, and exhaled with relief when he did. Not getting scoffed at and turned away was probably half the battle at a time like this. She shrugged and then scowled at him, masking her anxiety with feigned indignation instead. That quickly turned to disgust for the man in front of him as he suggested a particular line of work she was too young for. She balled a fist tightly behind her back, itching to sink it into his stupid grimy face. Only a supreme effort of will allowed her to resist and reply to him instead.

"I'm Ruka," she answered, recalling the name of the toughest girl she knew from her village when she was young, "and I already said, din't I? I'm fast, I'm smart, I know how to get around and, y'know, find things," she mimed having quick fingers on one hand with a meaningful look, then dropped the gesture as the guy continued talking. What was taking her teammates so long?! Then she paled a little at the man's next comment.

"Shit, man, yeah, I know what a mule is..." she trailed off, hesitating. Even though this was only a pretend meeting for her, it suddenly seemed a little too real. Whores and mules. She really wanted to sock this guy a good one. But she had to play along for now. "I guess... Maybe just once... If the money is right, it could really help me out. How much we talkin', eh?" She made a show of checking that no one was nearby listening in on them, but was really searching for her compatriots nearby. Now would be a good time to corner this asshole. She'd ready herself to reach out and grab around him if she saw any sign of the others making a move, and hope to slow the guy down so he couldn't dart away. Maybe she'd get a chance to plant a boot in his face, too.

Ran sighed and shrugged, he didn't want to admit it but it was a brilliant plan, so instead he just said. "It's your funeral kid..." Ran chuckled and slapped Kurai on his back before raising him a thumbs up to show that he actually approved of the idea, truth be told he was rather impressed how gutsy this kid actually was, he had never expected him to take initiative like this and in fact it almost reminded him of himself as a kid, save for the fact that Ran was brash and hotheaded.

Once Kurai would leap down and make his way towards he store, he would quickly notice that the door wasn't locked, inside he would see countless of antique items which were set behind what appeared to be metallic bars, each covered in what the naked eye would believe was dust, when in fact it was Iji's famous chalk. In front of him he would see a large red cashmere carpet that would lead him to the clerk who was behind a metallic bar.

There was a massive door next to him that could lead him towards the back of the shop and further down the item filled store was another door that seemed rather hidden unless he stood in the right position, which would be hidden to him from this angle. How would he proceed with the mission? Was he going to just go in, demand answers, ask questions that could get him closer or figure out a clever way to gain favours with the crew? Who knows, it was all on Kurai's hands now while Ran was back on the roof, ready to sprint into action the moment the trigger set off.

Please don't fucking die on me kid, or else Amaya will have my fucking head... He cursed under his breath as the nerves was getting to him, he wasn't used to caring about someone else's life but this kid had some spunk and that made him grow in Ran's eyes.

"Oi, welcome to Roranijio's Pawn Shop, how may I 'elp ya?" The one eye store worker asked, his five o clock shadow almost hidden in the shadows of his fat face.

Trust was important in such missions, she knew that she was putting a lot of faith in Kotori's hands, something told Amaya that she should believe in the power of this youth, that no matter how much danger the child actually was in, she would figure a way in to the crew. So the answer wasn't to rush in and grab him while she was talking to him, no, that would just compromise the mission she believed. For if a spotted was nearby then once they arrested Chiyo then they would alert Iji, or so she believed.

Shit... I can't believe I've endangered the only new person that has gotten to know me... The hell is wrong with me. Wana peered over at Amaya, seemingly smelling the sweat rolling down her forehead as the nerves were starting to get to her. It had been a while since she was on a mission and last time it didn't end so well for her, but that was because she had done the opposite of what she was doing now, have faith in her comrades, so she stilled Hiroko.

"It's not about that, it's the fact that we don't know how many people that works for Iji is around here, we don't know what will happen if we all go out to grab this guy and some scout spots us, they might scatter into the wind... Hell, we don't even know if he knows anything of value. So for now, you have to have faith little one." It was bad enough that her nerves were already shot but Hiroko's questioning was starting to get to her, although she did ask valuable questions, it was just this wasn't Amaya in her prime, this was a post coma Amaya who had recently put on her mission face.

"We might compromise her, since we don't know anything of his abilities, he could be faster and stronger than her... We could be putting her in danger.... Or... I mean, worse danger than she already is in." The last part she kept to herself as she spoke under her breath, no, they were going to watch and see how this plays out. With a gently back touch she would try to instil some confidence into Hiroko as she was starting to suspect that the young child lacked, which was rather normal for a Genin, especially when they were on a B-Rank mission.

Chiyo chuckled, he liked that Ruka had guts and that she was willing, this was what he was looking for, someone who wouldn't chicken out at the mere thought of committing crimes because it was easy to say I want money but it was hard to earn it. He rubbed his chin and snapped his fingers as he quickly picked up that the conversation was sort of making her uncomfortable.

"Don't worry... Ruka was it? Yeah, Don't worry, as a Mule you won't have to insert anything hehe, you will just have to carry something for us past a certain check point, it's rather an easy job to pull off and if you do then I can give you a bigger job, how does that sound? It should be rather easy to pull off, Miss: I-am-fast-and-smart." Chiyo chuckled once again before nodding at her to follow him.

He would walk towards a dark ally not far from the arena and reach behind a large dumpster, there he would grab something which was hidden underneath it, it was a red envelope. He tossed it at Ruka before he grinned. "Now, do not open this. Because believe it or not, we are always watching you, so I'm giving you one warning. Got it!?" Once Ruka would answer he would continue. "So, I am not... Ahem... able to move from this spot until later but if you could get to The Walk of Legends and hand it to Mizuke, a guy with brown scruffy hair and very blue eyes then I will make it up to you... Deal?"

It was either attempt to grab this guy now and do what they could with the information they could gather or delve deeper into mission and try to capture someone higher ranked within the criminal organisation, this was now left in Kotori's hands.

Kurai smiled as his plan got the approval of Ran. A boost of confidence he really needed. They youth may have appeared decisive and confident, but the inside turmoil was nearing the peak. Although the youth was not sure whether he was generally scared, or whether he was simply experiencing new emotion due to the situation being completely new to him.

There was only one way he would find this out, and that was the hard way. He took a deep comforting breath before he looked over at Ran, giving the man a confirmatory nod and hopping off the roof of the building. Thanks to his small size, physical strength, and agility, the landing was soft and quiet. Hopefully there was no threat in the area that would pick up in his shenanigans. The youth stayed in the shadows of the buildings as he scanned the street for any potential dangers.

The street was clear, the was not a living soul in sight, except for Ran but he could look after himself. In split second the youth took off and dashed across the road to the bins he had mentioned a few moments ago. Swiftly he grabbed the lid with one hand and one explosive tag with the other. Swiftly, the Fukushima boy attached the tag to the underside of the lid, and finally placed it back where he found it. The game was about to begin.

Walking out of the alley, the boy gave it one last scan to make sure there was not potential threats, and once again he didn’t see a soul in sight. He quickly walked over to the front door and pushed it - not sure whether the door was unlocked, he gave more than enough power than needed to open the door.

The inside was pretty gloomy. The it looked and smelled like no one has been here in a long time. It had the old people’s home kind of smell. The smell of moisture slowly penetrating every wooden beam in the whole construction. After the brief moment of accepting and dealing with over stimulation of his senses, the game was on. Made a mental note of everything he saw, the architecture, artefacts and antiques, the dust, and the old geezer stood behind the bar. The youth made his way over to him as he spoke.

As he approached, the figure behind the bar grew bigger and bigger. This geezer, lemon squeezer, was one of the fattest men the youth had ever seen. His fat was overflowing his trousers and his tee was not big enough to cover the lot. And the smell in this part of the shop was different to the rest. Kurai wasn’t sure what it was but it seemed radiate from the man.

’Yeah…’ The youth said and paused briefly. It was now that he realised… that he was not sure what to ask this guy. But in a brief bout of panic, he decided to pretend to be one of Ijis runners. He would have to wing everything from now on, but if something went wrong, he had back up just outside. The youth hoped so anyway. ’Right guy… I got sent ‘ere to collect my pay for all this bullshit. Come on hurry up and fork up.’ The way he spoke changed, the boy was serious and intense, he even slammed his fist into the table as he spoke to reinforce the way he felt. He could now only hope that it was enough to convince the fat man of his position.

Would continue to watch the situation nervously hoping her friend would be ok she would then reply “I understand though if we can’t intervene now? When can we? What if she get badly hurt or worse?” She would then wait for a reply as they watched from a distance. Though when they started to move she would check to see if Amaya was going to follow. If she didn’t move she would ask “can we atleast follow her to make sure she’s ok?”

She would then wait for her response panicking on the inside with Otsukoki trying to use this as a test and training exercise to have her remain calm and composed under pressure. It was certainly very difficult for Hiroko since she was still fidgeting a little. Her face clearly showed her intentions, but considering how she was feeling on the inside Otsukoki thought this was acceptable progress, for now that is. Thought would continue to try and teach her to remain calm.

If Amaya said it was ok to follow them or made any sign of movement to follow them Hiroko would get ready to sprint and take off at full speed before Otsukoki would remind her that’s a bad idea. So she would try to catch up as best as she could instead while trying to avoid being seen or acting suspicious

Kotori's skin crawled as the creepy man continued to speak to her, though she tried to hide it with a too-casual shrug. The others should be running in to help any moment now, she kept telling herself, just resist a few more seconds.... She gave a stiff nod to what the disgusting man was saying.

"I guess that's easy enough, I can do that, yeah. Walk of Legends, to a guy with brown hair and very blue eyes. Mizuke. Got it. Anything else I should know?" She hesitated, fingering the little red envelope. She badly wanted to know what was inside, but the more logical part of her mind told her it was probably empty. This felt like a test; she'd be watched to see if she was honest, and effective, before they actually trusted her with anything real. Anything actually illegal. Probably. Her jaw began to ache from grinding her teeth at the wait; where the hell were the others?! Had something happened to them?

That sent a wave of anxiety through her, echoed from deep inside by the hidden genma. Shit. Had they left her? No, not Hiroko. She wouldn't leave, whatever Amaya did. So then, were they being held up somehow? Had this guy's goons found them and stopped them? Panicking slightly, she decided she better play for time, and perhaps try to keep her 'cover' such as it was.

"Tell me about the check point, are they gunna search me? And what's this stuff worth to ya? I'm puttin' myself at risk here, y'know?"

Ran wasn't exactly panicking as he waited on a signal from Kurai, but the fact that the child was 11 years old really ate at his soul, he wasn't the type to care but the fact that he was the one that put him in this position did not sit right with him, even though it was the kids idea. I wonder, would Amaya or any other Jounin accept this? That Jounin commander, eh... Fuck is his name again? Hibeki! Would he be okay with a genin dying like this? Probably not, which prompted the thug to sigh.

Kurai on the other hand would face the situation from another direction, for what he had done was signal to the man behind the bar that this kid was not really part of the organization, he had waltzed in and basically asked that he was here to get some money, yet he hadn't even worked up to speak, nor familiarized with him, which he remembered was a code, a special code in fact. His fatness would push his chair back, sigh and nod as he pressed a button to open the side door.

He waddled towards one of the bookcases in the back and pulled on the leaver, he turned to face Kurai and sighed. "The pleasures of life are plenty but always short lived." The fat man shook his head and would close behind Kurai, he moved back to his desk and began to clean after himself.

Kurai, in the dark tunnel would find that he was in a well-lit hallway, leading him further down and away from the store, he had one path forward and one back, but the choice was left to him.

Chiyo looked at Kotori and chuckled, it was always like this, beginners were always nervous as it usually was their first time working with real criminals, that or they use to have a bit too much of confidence. Right... You are asking far too many questions, don't sweat it, you said you were fast and smart right? You will figure it out." Chiyo looked up as he scratched the bottom of his chin, it was around this time that Amaya's lens flew next to Kotori, gently tapping her cheek to signal that Amaya was watching, that she didn't have to stress about being on her own.

Chiyo looked back down as he finished thinking before he tossed her a pouch containing enough ryo to sustain someone who's poor for over a week. "And that's just the first half, finish this mission and I'll give you even more, deal?" Chiyo scratched the back of his head as he finished speaking, honestly if Kotori didn't make her move now then he would become suspicious of her, leaving her with two options, continue the path she had chosen and go for the second guy or attack him now and risk alarming the criminal organization, as he had already said that the organization was always watching.

Amaya listening to Hiroko was already channeling chakra to one of her lenses, she had sent it into the air and allowed it to fly next to Kotori, she was going a bit weary of her worry, it was almost as if she didn't trust Amaya nor Kotori's ability to make decisions on her own and as a ninja one would always need to be able to find a way out.

If this was a true life and death situation and Hiroko and Amaya were busy dealing with their own trouble then what would the nervous wreck do then? Sacrifice herself for a comrade she thought was doing worse than her or stay focused on the mission and trust that things would work themselves out.

Amaya had been used to being sent on suicide missions so for her this was a walk in the park, none of the criminals seemed to be a major threat to her but seeing as she was dealing with adolescents then she should probably try a bit harder to place her confidence on to them. "You'd do better if you focus on the task at hand, worrying about your comrades to the point of not being able to stay calm will only bite you in the long run. I hope you understand that as a Jounin I am able to assess situations and determine if they are dangerous or not.

If a street criminal is all it takes to take out Kotori then she is not meant to be a ninja, we have to trust that she can make a decision for the mission. That's the situation I have placed her in, I haven't sent her to her death, nor am I just standing here. Wana has the ability to scent blood up to miles and if any blood is drawn she will react, giving us the heads up that a battle has ensued.
" With that little lecture Amaya would pat Hiroko on her shoulder to signal that she wasn't mad, nor disappointed but the Chuunin before her needed to exercise a little more trust in her comrades.

"We just have to wait on her signal and we act from there, one should not act unless absolutely needed, otherwise you risk compromising your position." Something she severely wanted to tell Ran, a man who was more gung-ho than smarts.

The boy watched as the side door opened before him. This was the moment of decision. Possibly the biggest choice he had to make this far, not just on this mission, but in his life. Not knowing what awaited him at the end of that passage, he was in for a leap of faith. He did not even know whether he would be close enough to activate the explosive tag he had just left in the trash can. Once again, he took a long breath as he made his decision.

Without saying anything, the youth would simply put one foot in front of the other down this tunnel. What the fatty said did not even register as he was too concerned with the tunnel itself. For now he was alone, and he would have to do his best to stay alive until he Ran realised that something was wrong.

Hiroko would just look on worried a bit but in the end says “ok i understand I will try to calm down and remain here I was just worried that if these criminals have evaded justice for so long maybe they are stronger then what a genin can beat?” She would then proceed to try to calm down like she said she was going to do. She knew she had to trust her teammates and superior’s but for the first time she had a friend she could loose. So she would just have to get use to it or find more people so she wouldn’t have to worry.

So she would proceed to practice staying calm. Though seeing how it was her first time it was proving difficult. The entire time in her head Otsukoki was berating her for loosing her cool so easily. While Hiroko apologized and waited for the angry spirit to calm down. Hoping this won’t become a recurring thing and that she can do better for her partner in the future as well as have her superiors find her more reliable.

Kotori shrugged, trying to play off her questions as someone being anxious about the offered task. It made sense that a kid wouldn't just blindly trust some street thug, especially not a man who'd already hinted at some twisted ideas. When the pouch of ryo appeared, however, she didn't need to feign interest; her eyes lit up like those of a penniless waif—which she still mostly was—and followed the small sack of coins through the air, and she caught it deftly. Mentally, she prepared herself, feeling like accepting the money meant she was silently agreeing to go ahead with this ruse of a job.

Unfortunately, at that moment, Chiyo looked back down at her and hesitated. A small glass lens might be subtle when used discretely, but when one appeared floating right beside Kotori's head, directly under the thug's scrutinizing gaze, it was somewhat more obvious. Shit.

That small pause was all Kotori needed as an opening though, and to her credit, she did not waste it. Both the envelope and the sack of coins fell forgotten to the floor as she jumped forward, trying to grab hold of the man's left arm with her left hand, and aggressively kicked out at his legs to try and unbalance him or make him fall. With her right hand, she snatched the glass lens right out of the air beside her, spun it around in her palm, and then tried to smash it into the side of the thug's head. She wasn't letting this scumbag get away, and if she had the opportunity before Amaya and Hiroko arrived, she fully intended to sink her heel into his groin and her fists into his face. Perhaps repeatedly.

Kurai found himself in a long hall that almost continued endlessly, with every step he would feel how the air got heavier and how the world almost seemed smaller, until he reached a large door. The range for the explosive had now been passed as the pathway was designed to not only keep intruders away but to collapse in on itself if push came to shove. Behind said door the kid would find the man he had been looking for, Iji, was standing with his back turned against Kurai, a slight chuckle escaped his breath then a deep inhale followed. The room had a weird set up, multiple doors leading to a desk in the middle, other then the beautiful rugs and the fancy desk, there was nothing out of the ordinary.

"Man, it's almost like I am surrounded by idiots." Iji still had his back turned against Kurai, it was almost like he didn't care that he was there, but he surely knew. "Don't you agree? I mean, you didn't even do the correct knock and just waltzed in here... Meaning either that fat piece of shit just let you in without locking behind you... or... He is removing all evidence of our operations..." Iji sighed and turned around to face Kurai.

The tall giant grinned as he was shocked to see a kid, he wondered if he truly was alone as he had expected Ran or someone far stronger but for now, he had to contend with a lost boy. "What do you say? Isn't it a bit of a shame that a criminal enterprise has this poor of an excuse for defense?" With that two hulking men entered the space and walked up to Iji.

Ran bit the bottom of his lips as he nervously pranced around, it had gone longer than he expected, and his mind was playing tricks on him. He wanted to believe that the boy was okay and was just lost within the store, but his ADHD mind got him thinking that he was in big trouble and knowing Iji trouble only lingered for a short while... Or worse, Iji was going to try to recruit him! Fuck, fuck, fuck! Amaya is going to kill me if a genin joins the criminal enterprise.... As pumped as he was, he still waited but he couldn't tell for how long he would attempt to do that, his fingers began to itch as his mind wandered.

Amaya watched how Kotori grabbed his arm, with that she found her signal, she began to "dance" next to Hiroko then placed her palm on her back, "I hope you are ready!" Amaya knew better then to question her comrade's ability to make decisions, for no matter how they moved forwards from here they had to make it. Let's just hope that this guy has the information we need! Two glass wings sprouted from Hiroko's back and pushed her up in the air, allowing her to fly at immense speed above the alleyway, giving her the height advantage.

While Amaya side flipped and landed upon Wana who rushed towards the scene. Kotori kicked the man on the inside of his knee and forced him to kneel, but when she continued her attack he would lift her up with one arm. "What the fuck is wrong with you!?" Chiyo grunted as he spat on the ground next to her, he held her in a chokehold and prepared to stab her with a kunai but stopped once he saw the massive hyena turn corner.

Amaya wouldn't not be able to make it in time to stop the assailant but would be able to expand the lens to become a shield, stopping the blade from cutting her throat, but before Wana would reach him both Kotori and Hiroko had the ability engage. For this was a team effort, this was why she placed one of them in harms way, to see if they were capable of getting out of it.

Kurai entered the room not sure whether he would still be able to activate the the tag, but he tried anyway. With his hands tucked into his pockets, he performed the tiger hand seals with each hand, separately. That is all he could hope for, other than this, he was on his own.

Kurai took a spot in the centre of the room in line with Iji. The door was left open and and for now Kurai had to play the game, but as much time as he possibly could. Fighting this dude one on one would be a disaster for himself. But if he had to, he would. If they managed to capture him, the loss of the evidence would not matter.

’what you talking about? I just showed you how easy it is to break in here and get to you. That fat phuck in the shop is useless. What you need is some competent people working for you. Like myself.’ Kurai spoke with a rather direct but calm tone. Although this was not his objective, he was not wrong. He did get in there with very little effort, even if it did mean he messed up with the knock, he now knew that there was such a thing. He stoop in place completely relaxed, waiting for the rest of the situation to unravel.

Hiroko would take the signal that things we’re getting started and would run towards them when suddenly wings sprouted from her back catching her by surprise. But she would quickly adjust to compensate for them and quickly fly towards Kotori position. As soon as she saw the kunai come out her mind would race trying to decide what method she should use since Kotori was in range also and if she was effected while the criminal wasn’t it would be a big problem. She couldn’t use some of her ninjutsu since she didn’t want to kill him since they needed information. This made it a very tricky situation for her. But when she saw Amaya glass shield protect Kotori from the made she figured it was safe to test something that could see the man’s level of will power as well as possibly his comparative combat prowess. Since most people with enough will power to resist her were at least chunin level or higher.

So she quickly said loud enough to be heard by Kotori and the man but being careful to control her volume so that she wasn’t so loud peoples outside the vicinity she needed would hear her. Saying “be honest” activating the jutsu causing the barrier to form around Kotori and the man (at will power speed 19) she would then watch to see what the man would do and if he was trapped in the barrier when it was fully formed she would then say to the man “hey criminal scum where is your boss? And what’s his name?” After saying this she would be flying 1 meter above the barrier and watching her surroundings to see if anyone she can see acts suspiciously after she asked the question. As well as anyone watching or anyone acting suspiciously after the criminal responds and anyone that starts watching after the criminal responds.

Kotori grunted as she was lifted bodily away from the floor, despite her kick having sent her mark to one knee. Her grip on his arm seemed a feeble thing now, compared to his raw strength. Not good! She squirmed in his grip until she saw a glint of sharpened steel appear in his other hand. No, no! She opened her mouth to scream just as the glass lens, still gripped in her right hand, suddenly burst into a wide shield before her. The incoming kunai made a sudden click as it deflected safely away. Even better, the shield slammed into the thug's arm, forcing him to release his chokehold and drop her.

She hit the ground with a painful thump and scooted back, then scrabbled frantically to her feet and turned to face the man again.
"What's wrong with me? What's wro—" Her rebuttal was suddenly interrupted by a forceful voice, and a large barrier began to form around the pair of them, boxing them in with shimmering light. Something about the words she heard, 'be honest', seemed to strike at her mind, and she thought she saw Hiroko flying—flying!—overhead, but she didn't have time to think about those things right now. There was an ass to kick.

She pointed at the thug and opened her mouth to continue her angry tirade and declare his imminent doom, but somehow other words, not what she'd intended to say at all, began to flow out of her in a rush.
"I'm fucking terrified, that's what! I have a fucking monster clawing its way through me, and it's all I can fucking do to stop it burning me, you, and everyone else here to piles of molten slag! I'm scared, alone, so utterly out of my depth, and no one gives a shit! That's wha—" It all poured out of her in a rapid stream of words until she realised what was happening and managed to slam her mouth shut with a hand, face draining of colour in shock and horror. What the hell was that!?

"I.." She stepped forward, and something snapped inside her. Part of her mind recoiled in understanding, piecing together Hiroko's words and the girl's demonstration of power the other day. The rest of her sank into baser instincts. As her foot hit the ground a surge of golden energy burst out of her, rising from her skin like steam. Streaks of gold flared across her face and her eyes bled into beacons of the same colour. She took another step, then another, energy now brimming around her like an aura of sunlight.

"You shouldn't have heard that," she muttered, her voice a discordant mix of tones sounding like two people talking at once. Her face was void of emotion as she leaped forwards, ducking beneath the shield of glass and grabbing hold of Chiyo's chest with her left hand. With her right, she aimed a series of punches. Not powerful swings, but cold, direct, and calculated. But it was her left hand, gripping the man's torso, from which golden energy spread. She didn't intend to release it—Kotori herself was barely present now, just a mote locked in the back of her own mind, watching her body move under the control of something else—but the glow leeched into the man's skin, engulfing him just for a moment. When it faded, he stagged backwards now looking much, much younger, as if a decade or more of years had suddenly and forcefully been stripped away...

Iji chuckled, he liked the kid's spunk, for it took major cojones to just waltz into someone operation and speak so highly of themselves. Whether or not this was some sort of persona mattered not, for Iji found him entertaining as it reminded him of his younger self, brash and cocky but with some sort of plan that he kept to himself. Kid has a future, but let's see if he makes it first. Iji grinned as he rubbed his green hair.

"I see, I'll make sure to fire that bastard. Now, on to the real question. Why are you here? Are you truly here to apply for a job or are you some government stooge here to sniff us out?" Iji's men flexed their muscles and did their best to appear intimidating, their pure strength could almost be felt by their presence, these were enemies Ran would have to apply pressure to take down, goons designed for a team to tackle unless they were Jounin ranked, while Iji was a problem on his own.

"What type of work are you able to do? Because coming off as a goon has its benefits but if you lack the power to back it up then you are just an empty bag filled with guts." His men laughed until he snapped his fingers. Iji walked up to the Kurai and gently placed his hand on his shoulder, the gentle touch would feel like the weight of a thousand suns for Kurai, the pressure of answering the question incorrect could lead to massive consequences.

The tag fizzled as Kurai had just managed to walk out of range and instead of exploding it would start a small fire, Ran grit his teeth and swore like a sailor as he paced back and forth, missing the dumpster fire that had started. In fact, he missed the part where the store owner had exited the pawn shop, had it not been for the fact that he noticed the smoke then Ran would've probably not even seen the fat bastard. The reformed goon nearly panicked as he watched the store owner do his best to quench the fire.

Ran on the other hand used his immense speed to nearly teleport through the door, the wooden frame nearly tearing as he burst through. The collected chalk flying wildly around as the wind picked it up. His first thought was that it almost looked identical to when his adoptive parents ran the store, except that it was dustier than ever before. I can't believe you let the store collect so much dust bro, you fucking mongrel. Ran shook his head in frustration, had he been a bit more observant then he would notice that the dust was chalk white, Iji's signature affinity, which he knew was a hassle to deal with but due to panic and stress the young man focused on saving Kurai.

Where the fuck are you kid!? He burst through the second door and looked behind the counter and the store, in hopes of finding some sort of secret entrance, he figured that there had to be one for escape purposes, otherwise where the hell was Kurai? Shit! This is bad!

Chiyo was shocked that the barrier had appeared out of the blue, let alone that it had stopped his knife stab, he cursed under his breath, especially after the barrier had knocked his grabbing hand, causing him to lose grip of Kotori. What came next surprised both Chiyo and Amaya, for Hiroko had cast a spell that almost seemed out of this realm, she had cast a genma technique, something Amaya had studied in the past but wasn't all too well versed. One of her companions and students used to date a previous host of the genma, and that's where she had learned a bit about them.

Though being years ago and under different circumstances, the knowledge she carried was bare minimum. Luckily, she was out of its range but what wasn't was the goons' reinforcements. They threw two kunai's in front of Wana, prompting the hyena queen to stop dead in her tracks. Two goons dashed against the wall and attempted to kick Amaya off the hyena. Wana snagged one of them out of the air while the Shoshiki had to deal with the second one, he managed to rock her, but the kick wasn't strong enough to force her down from the beast. Instead, she reached for her sword and blocked his knife stab towards Wana's neck, she pulled the weaker man's hand to the side before she leapt off the animal and on to him, placing both her feet on his chest as she rolled, and push kicked him into the air. Once she got back on her feet, she spotted three more goons making their way towards them, forcing her to make a decision to focus on dealing with the goons and leave Chiyo to Kotori and Hiroko, Wana was still fighting the first goon who seemed to be the stronger of the two but due to her bite he was pretty much secured.

"I have no idea what is going on and this shit terrifies me! I only do this business to precure money for my family... In fact! I hate Iji and his fucking ways..." Chiyo held his hand over his mouth, he looked at Kotori who spoke about carrying a monster within her which made him wonder what the hell was going on. He had thought that this young girl was just some poor woman looking for a job but was in fact some sort of ninja out on patrol or something. "He is hiding inside one of the bunkers connected to multiple buildings! His name is Iji!" He said the name once again and cursed under his breath, it seemed that every time he spoke, he couldn't help but to tell the truth.

He watched how Kotori moved under the barrier as her features changed to something far more terrifying than a young poverty-stricken girl, and as she touched him, he felt his age reverse, a horrifying sensation but unfortunately for Kotori it only made him feel energized, his shitty knee felt fresh and nimble, and his strength seemed to have returned. "Oh shit! Thank you friend!" He responded by delivering a roundhouse kick that would if it connected to Kotori's chin, send her flying back and bounce her off the floating barrier then on to the ground.

Not forgetting Hiroko, he would toss his knife at her before he pushed off the ground and bounced off the wall in order to be able to reach her, once he was close enough, he would attempt to punch the flying truth forcer, the strike aimed to send her flying down next to Kotori, making it easier for Chiyo to deal with the both of them at the same time. He would flip on the way down and land in front of the two women if his strikes had connected and gloat. "I have to say, I haven't felt this confident in a fight in a very long time."

Kurai could not help but chuckle at Ijis initial comment. Although he was right in what he was saying, Kurai was doing his best to live up his cover story. ’Do you honestly think that if I was some government goon you’d still be here? If someone like can find this place, and waltz in so easily the government geezers will probably wouldn’t even break a sweat!’ Kurais voice changed through out his little speech to create the right impact on the man. This was going to be one hell of a performance if he did manage to pull it off. But during all this, a part of his mind was wondering where the hell Ran was, he was getting worried.

That worry grew as Iji approach him. When the man’s hand rested on his shoulder he thought he was going to shit his pants. It felt like someone had decided to casually rest a boulder there, and the reaction of the people around him was not helping the situation. Kurai was scared, and the question the man posed was a good one. The only virtue he had to offer to these people was his confidence. Although his strength would only grow from here, at this moment in time this was all he had to offer. And still, this was not a selling point, as confidence could be bad, especially in this situation. He’s have to come up with something better, and quickly.

’I probably not look it, but I’m pretty fast, and I don’t exactly stand out. If you want, I can be your messenger. Your runner. Whatever you need delivering, will be delivered no if it’s the last thing I do.’ The fear could be heard in his voice as he began speaking, but as he went on, his confidence returned.

Hiroko would cringe when she heard her friend caught up in the mess then would yell “sorry about that! “ but they did get the information they needed kind of though she still felt bad about what happened. She then turned to Amaya to see what she was doing only to see more thugs attacking her. Sure enough Amaya was right there were thugs watching him.

She then turned back and quickly disabled the barrier only to see him attack her with a knife so she would strafe to the right then as he went to try to punch her she would activate a jutsu causing lava to erupt on the point of contact protecting her and burning him [control speed&strength 25]

After that she quickly flew much higher. About 50 meters into the air, She then watched the surrounding area from above in the air to make sure none of them escaped she wanted to make sure no other criminals escaped to warn the boss. She was pretty sure Amaya could handle herself. So was most likely better off not interfering there. If she didn’t see any people running away from the location after looking throughly, or any suspicious people walking away.

She would quickly turn her attention back the man from before who attacked her friend. She would watch to see if the previous lava jutsu finished him off or if he was still able to fight.

Youton • Eruption
C-Ranked Ninjutsu
After performing a string of hand seals, the user will cover the surface of their body with Youton chakra. Physical contact with the user triggers the technique, causing lava to burst outwards from the point of contact with a speed and impact strength equal to the user’s control. This jutsu causes 1st degree burns. The lava hardens over the span of 3 posts, reducing the strength of impacted objects by 2 strength per post. The jutsu lasts until triggered or for 3 posts, at which point it dissipates harmlessly.

Kotori squawked as she was effortlessly kicked away by the thug, her own punches against his chest seemingly ineffective. If anything, the man seemed stronger and faster than he had a moment before, and she could feel his enervation in the weight of his kick. She flew backwards, skidding and tumbling through the air before slamming into the shimmering barrier made by Hiroko, then slipped downwards to land in a slump on the ground.

She groaned and tried to pick herself back up, her back and legs aching from the impacts, and her chin ablaze with pain. "Mother...fucker... That hurts!" She looked up to see their target now trying to swing at Hiroko, but the girl was too fast, moving with the aid of Amaya's glass wings. She looked graceful up there, even in the throes of combat. Lava sprayed out from the other girl before she took off even higher. Below her, Kotori scrabbled back to her feet and dove for cover, lest the lava fall down upon her.

It seemed Hiroko could fend for herself after all, and was doing just fine. That meant Kotori also needed to fight her own fight. She concentrated on the thug and began weaving a set of hand seals, flaring her chakra visibly around her body and stoking it until it was a bright flare of light, even in the daylight of the street. She'd wait until the thug looked in her direction before completing the technique, sending a pulse of genjutsu chakra through the visual link to try and impair the man. With his strength and speed, they needed an edge.

And once her genjutsu was cast, she'd start running and weaving a second set of hand seals, trying to stay on the move while keeping an eye on the man and maintain a safe distance of at least ten metres, hoping that Hiroko's continued attacks from above would keep the man occupied just long enough. She moulded her chakra into doton and stamped, sending the chakra down into the stones beneath her feet. One of the cobblestones jutted upwards into a spike and launched itself directly at Chiyo. With any luck, his sight would be impaired and he wouldn't see the attack coming in time to move, even with his superior speed...

The cloud of dust and debris swirls all around the target for 15m in all directions, limiting their vision to just two metres. Sight-enhancing ninjutsu or taijutsu, including doujutsu, are ineffective at seeing through the illusory dust cloud. The cloud lingers for three posts before gently dispersing upon phantom winds.

Iji listened intently at the boy, he listened to every syllable, every explanation he had about how he wasn't a government stooge, and how if he truly was then they would be overrun. What Kurai didn't know was that Iji had people on the inside that helped him break down his operation whenever said government stooge was on to him, this time it seemed that the intel had failed, although something was definitely off with this kid. Iji shook his head and chuckled as he began to clap his hands slowly, it was almost like he didn't care anymore, for he knew that they had nothing on him in worst case, seeing as it hadn't been the first time, they had arrested him, and he was sure that it wouldn't be the last.

"I see, I could definitely use someone like you, but in order for you to work for me, you have to stop lying and be the man you are meant to be. Stop working for people who continuously order to risk your life for "Glory and Honor" and instead risk your life for moolah, money, cash, dough. You could make enough money that you don't have to work anymore, you could get enough money working for yourself that the idea of working as a "soldier" would not be worth it. But it all starts with YOU, admitting that you were placed into a program that raises child soldiers for "the greater good" and not what is the greatest good for YOU!" Iji shook his head in disappointment, he had heard this speech before, he had seen the tremble in his eyes, and he knew that there was no way that this kid could just walk into the parlor without any pre-existing knowledge.

His goons looked at Iji and uncrossed their arms, they were as menacing as the tone of his voice as the told them to stand down. Now, when will you finally show your face? It was almost like clockwork, the chalk in the store had moved around, meaning someone was making moves, and by sense of it, it was fast. A grin grew on his face as his eyes darted from the boy to the door.

Ran kicked in the door, his teeth grit and white knuckling the butterfly knives. "IJI!!! YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Ran shouted.

"Right on time... Brother! It's been far too long!" Iji took a step back as he chuckled.

"Cut the shit! You know why we are here! Your criminal enterprise is going down!"

"Is that so? How do you plan on stopping me dear old brother?"

"By beating you like the dog you are and bringing you in!"

"The thug turned government stooge I see, is this what you want for your future? Kid?" Iji looked deep into Kurai's eyes, this was his last chance of ditching the life of a goodie two shoes and finally unleash his true self.

"Don't listen to his bullshit kid! All he is selling you are lies!"

"Brother, isn't that a bit hypocritical? Didn't you rob people? Live life to the fullest? Didn't you have more money than you could ever dream of? But now? You work for a comatose woman and I hear that you are raising a dog? What happen to you B!"

"I got a life! I got a purpose!" Ran pushed past Kurai and kicked one of the massive goons, sending him flying right into the wall, Iji dodged behind the second one who was promptly stabbed in the gut before a roundhouse decked him. "And yours will end NOW!" Ran leaped into the air and attempted to kick his brother in the face, Iji reached to toss Kurai towards the back of the room right before the chalk Ran had picked up when he rushed through the store was now working against him, a massive explosion sent Ran flying through most of the hallway as it began to collapse in front of Iji.

"Sorry about that kid, but this is where we part ways, unless you are done living like a slave.... " Iji didn't want to kill the kid, but at the same time he couldn't force him to think for himself, instead he left him to figure out what he truly wanted to do, stay and help Ran by removing the endless debris that buried the path towards him or follow Iji.

Ran, feeling guilty for his failure and in massive pain screamed as he felt that his arm was broken, the debris covered him was nigh impossible to move with just one arm made the boy panic. He needed help to get out and if no one would come then he would probably have to stay there until someone came to investigate the commotion. The store front had managed to survive the explosion but the path leading to the underground bunker had been demolished.

MetaShow
*Chalk Style • Blinding Valley
A-Rank Ninjutsu
After forming hand seals, the user infuses a 20-meter x 20-meter area of terrain within 20 meters of their location with volatile Chalk. If someone steps on the affected terrain within six posts of casting this jutsu, the area will explode, sending Chalk particles and other debris at opponents at [Control] Speed and Strength, spreading Chalk particulates up to 20 meters high within the entire targeted area. The Chalk particles from this technique will persist in the area for up to six posts. The passive debuff from this technique stacks with those of other Chalk Style techniques.

Amaya fought the random goons with Wana, dodging and weaving as the two of them continued to take out the wave of back up that were starting to surround the area, fortunately for the dynamic duo they were a piece of cake, but they continuously swarmed the area and kept Amaya focused on the combat ahead, she grit her teeth and started to wonder if she had made the right choice, she knew that if something happen to the girls then she would probably be reprimanded but at the same time if they failed to defeat a street punk then maybe they weren't meant to be ninjas after all? Harsh but true, nonetheless.

Chiyo grunted as he missed his strike, the flying little gnat was getting the best of him, he pushed off the wall as he watched her turn the point of contact into lava, something he didn't expect, he had learned about the lava clan when he was younger and had seen some fine Enkoutens in his life but this one seemed different, this one seemed like they were carrying something else in life.

His knuckle connected and quickly started to engulf in flames, thankfully he was fast enough to pull the hand back, pushing the wall to roundhouse kick Hiroko down from the air, luckily due to his superior speed, he would likely connect with his strike, his mind wandering as he began to panic, he was clearly starting to get overwhelmed by these kids. Never in his life had he encountered people that had these abilities, one that forced him to tell the truth and the other that changed his age.

His mind was freaking out, but he knew that there was no return, he had to win this fight or at least hurt them enough to be able to escape, for he feared that the two of them would quickly begin to outpace him and whatever that beast was at the end of the ally was not a good sign. Tsck, what the hell have I gotten myself into? When his eyes landed on Kotori things became crazy, it was almost like his eyes didn't work the way they used to, for a storm got kicked up and made visibility nearly impossible for him, panic ensued and he attempted to back away but was met with a sharp spike that pieced his left leg and pinned him on the spot.

Chiyo screamed in pain before he used the same hand, he had punched the lava kid to pulverize the spike, he fell to his knee and began to shed tears as the panic of it all was starting to overwhelm him. His pierced foot kept him stationary for the moment but there was no telling how long he would remain that way, adrenaline helped men get through insane pain.

The speech Iji gave was impressive. It seemed the man had been through things in his life to think in that way, Kurai listened to him carefully, and when everything hit the fan, Kurai had to decide. Stay there and continue living his life like he had been, or go with Iji, and learn more about how the world works, and a lot about himself. So when the time came, Kurai followed him. His insides were in turmoil, he did not want to leave Ran the way he did, he was a good guy and Kurai liked him. But this was not a situation he could hang around. So he remained a few feet behind Iji as they dash to the new location.

As soon as the kick hit she would grunt in pain gritting her teeth as she is sent plummeting down to the ground she would then brace herself for impact and roll to reduce the damage then groan in pain for a little before quickly flying back into he air at top speed to about 50m high to see if anyone is trying to escape to warn the boss. If she saw no one quickly trying to escape she would then turn her attention back to the other guy.

if he was still on the ground by then after she made sure there’s no escaping criminals trying to warn there boss she would soon use a jutsu to make a tennis ball sized object in her hand then say to the criminal loud enough to be heard from the air “if you surrender we won’t have to kill you” if he refused to surrender she would then would drop the strange ball about 9 meters away from him and would be about 11 meters away from her genin friend. It would explode engulfing everything with in 10 meters of its position including him if he was still on the ground when it landed.

She would then look from her spot in the air to see if it hit and if it did was he still conscious? If she saw he was still conscious she would then get ready to use another jutsu.

Finally! Ha! Kotori revelled in the success of her strike, watching as the small spear of doton struck true and pinned the man in place, if only for a moment. It only took the thug a moment to shatter the spike and free himself but the wound would remain, paining and slowing him. Kotori's confidence surged at the success; perhaps, together, she and Hiroko could best this bastard. And she badly wanted to.

As soon as she saw the spike pin the man, she began weaving another set of hand seals as quickly as she could, stopping about 15 metres away from the pinned Chiyo and staring at him - hoping that her illusion technique would keep her safe from being easily struck in return. She pushed chakra down into the ground around her and directed steadily towards Chiyo as he broke the spike, letting the energy pool around him in the earth. Then she fed the technique more energy, more, priming it with as much strength as she could muster. Clearly he could overcome her usual power by breaking through the last technique so easily, and so this one needed to be stronger. Better. Distantly she was aware of Hiroko speaking to him again, threatening him, and raising an orb of lava high in one hand. She'd never expected Hiroko to be so aggressive and decisive in a fight, but right now Kotori was very glad her friend was so capable.

She'd never used this jutsu in combat before, and she knew it was draining a lot of her energy to do so at this level. If it didn't work, she'd be getting tired. Eventually, with as much chakra pushed into the technique as she could do, she unleashed it. Five lengths of chains, formed of hardened doton, erupted from the ground where Chiyo had stopped. The first two sets of links would spiral up around and bind the man's legs, pulling him down and holding him in place. The next two would attempt to wrap around his torso, pinning both of his arms to his sides and prevening him from swinging punches or forming handseals, and the last chain would rise higher still and wrap tightly around his neck, holding his head in place with the threat of suffocation. It wouldn't cut off his air supply—not yet, at least—but the weight of the chain around his throat would surely suggest it being possible...

[Doton • Chains of Imprisonment] - Cast at 15 control to become 25str and 5speed
B-Rank Ninjutsu
This powerful restraining jutsu requires that the user be within 60 meters of the target. After forming the necessary seals, five lengths of stone chain links will jut out of the ground at a speed of [5]. The chains will aim rapidly move to immobilize the target, automatically looping around arms, legs, waist and neck. The chains can extend up to 60 meters if necessary, in order to ensnare the victim depending on their height and girth; This is not a controlled jutsu however, but if the target is entangled the chains will retract back into the earth to bind the target in place. The chains grab and restrain with a Strength equal to [25].

Iji was glad that he had convinced the young man to work with him instead of with the government, Ran was most likely knocked out for he knew that he hadn't used enough force to kill his brother, not that he wanted too anyway. The man had become a nuisance in the latter part of their years, but he still loved him. Thinking back to how he tried to attack him, he could've tossed one of his blades at him but instead he had chosen to attempt to incapacitated him. It was interesting how their relationship worked and how it could evolve in the future, but for now, they parted ways.

"We got a lot of things to work on my friend, I got a lot of things to teach you." Iji rested his arm on Kurai's shoulder and continued to walk down the dark hall that would lead them out of the village. Iwagakure is burned, time to move out.

"Besides, there's not much money to be made here anymore, not since that Kage took over, I'll show you where you can make some serious money." iji & Kurai exit the thread.

Hiroko would be able to see that Amaya was still dealing with countless goons, together with her hyena they would make short work of them, and before long they would finish their part of the combat while Kotori was getting pressed. Chiyo clutched his leg and cried out in pain before Hiroko caught his attention, Kotori was forming another set of hand seals in his periphery while the flying gnat held what appeared to be a lava ball, panic ensued before dread began to take over his mind, he struggled to find a way out and before he could make up his mind, rock chains would sprout out of the ground, grabbing his legs before more began to wrap around his body and neck.

Grabbing the chain around his neck, he would begin to gasp for air, hoping that this was all a nightmare, fear had taken over his mind, for the pain on his leg and the genjutsu covered his vision was overwhelming him. "I'm sorry! I.... I.... Please help me!" Chiyo screamed out for his comrades to come and assist him, but it was too late.

Amaya finished the last goon with a roundhouse before she turned to face her comrades, a deep breath escaped her lips, she would walk down the alleyway and place herself next to Kotori, she gently nudged her arm then winked at her. "Looks like y'all did a number on him." The Shoshiki crossed her arms, she looked up at Hiroko then back at Chiyo who was panicking. ""You two handled this pretty well, how about we end this little adventure and find where Iji is hiding once and for all?"

The raven haired youth closed his eyes as he heard all the crumbling behind him. Not knowing what had happened to Ran troubled him. They only knew each other for a few hours, but he felt that they connected. Deep inside he hoped to see Ran again. Although he truly did not know what awaited him. This whole situation threw him into a spiral of emotions; he had suddenly decided to leave his family, clan, friends, and his village behind him on a whim to pursue this mission he had been tasked with. But right now he did not know whether it was the mission he was pursuing. There may have been something in what Iji had said that made the decision for him. Confusion, that was the state he was currently in. Causing him to follow Iji blindly, taking one step after the other. And when Ijis hand landed on his shoulder, he looked up at him with a dead gaze. Now, not sure what was going on, he simply nodded and continued on with the man.

Hiroko would nod then take out a map of Iwagakure that shows all the buildings then asks everyone to back up out of range. Once Hiroko knows no one who will be effected is around she says “be honest” causing the genma power to activate then the barrier forms as usual and she points to the map saying “where exactly on this map is the route to where iji is staying?”

Sadly she hasn’t made a jutsu that forces people to do something yet so has to phrase it like a question for this to work. Once Chiyo has shown them the correct path to get to iji Hiroko would drop the barrier then walk over to them and say “so should we head to iji location now?”

Kotori, panting a little from the exertion of her techniques, stared at Chiyo as her chains found and restrained him. She hadn't been sure it'd work, seeing as she'd had to move them slower in order to make them strong enough to be effective, but perhaps she'd overestimated this thug's determination. Being faced with three shinobi, even with two of them being young, was probably pretty intimidating. And even Kotori wasn't sure how far Hiroko would have gone if the fight had continued.

She glanced at Amaya and gave a small shrug. She'd seen the older shinobi fighting other thugs nearby while she and Hiroko were occupied with this one, but even so a part of her wanted to demand where the hell she'd been before that point, when Kotori had been alone and waiting for backup. Had it been a test, or was that just Amaya's leadership style? For now, the genin bottled up the doubts. It was a conversation for later, if they continued to work together.

For now, she hung back while Hiroko did her thing, and then cautiously approached to stand beside her friend and face the thug. She wanted to add some questions of her own, right now that the time to interrogate the man had come, she found she didn't know what to ask. Perhaps that was best left to her smarter comrades, anyway. So she waited until after the man had answered Hiroko and anything Amaya asked, and then deftly kicked him in the groin instead.

Amaya channeled chakra as she stood next to Kotori and soon glass domes would cover all the street punks, she and Wana had taken out, forming around them as miniature prison for later pick up. She was rather impressed by their performances and in fact gave them a short applause before she got serious, once Chiyo had shown them where they could find a path that would lead them to the underground bunkers, she would form another dome around Chiyo right after he was kicked hard in his groin, knocking him out cold, a chuckle escaped her breath before she would lead the charge towards.

She spared them a speech as she figured that would come later and instead gave both of them a gentle pat on their shoulder and a bright smile, showing that she had approved of their action, she was proud. After a short walk distance, they would find themselves outside a pawn shop, the locked door was forcefully opened by Wana and soon they found themselves inside, at first it appeared like it was any regular store but once they entered it, they would notice that everything was covered in chalk, odd but nothing that stopped them from investigating the area, since the store owner wasn't around, they could search the place until found the secret door in the back.

Not long after they entered, they would find an unconscious Ran, which shocked Amaya, words couldn't describe how hurt she was at finding her friend in such a state, they would notice that his harm had been broken and he was covered in bruises. The revelation changed the objective of the mission from hunting down Iji to helping Ran back to the hospital. The crew currently had no idea that Iji had managed to convince kidnap Kurai, but that information would be relayed by Ran once he woke up.
