[Mission] Recess; even ninjas need it

Early morning in Iwa; this is the most calming time of all. At dawn, the shops are being opened and the little shinobi are being shooed off to school. As opposed to the dusk's busy lives with everyone finishing up their day, only those who have to be up early in the morning are up at this time.

You, however, are one of those few. Hopefully you live and die by the 'early to bed early to rise' principal because this day is the host of your only responsibility for the time being; the satisfaction of a client. The previous day, you were given instructions to meet this client at the front doors and follow him into school for the day, in order to take care of the bully problem he has been having. This could be a chance to meet with some of your old instructors and take a stroll down memory lane, since this was the same school you graduated from not so long ago. Hopefully you're there by the time the class bell rings and the client is forced to endure another day without your aid.

Jinseie's assignment had to be one of the most inexplicable things he'd ever heard. Oh but he got ready and left his home, he hadn't failed a mission yet and he wasn't about to. He had woken up before the crack of dawn for once and had gotten his equipment ready. He hadn't taken any explosive tags, no kunai, nor his hammer. What he had taken, however, was his pipe, tobacco, lighting flint and his coat, wakizashi tied to the waist of the belt.

And now he was outside the home he was directed to, putting on his best 'game' face smile, one hand twirling his extended pipe around his fingers slowly.

While Jinseie was waiting, the door began to open and out stepped a short mildly chubby kid with glasses so thick the could have been two magnifying glasses taped together. As if to further express the point, the glasses were indeed taped together over the nose. This kid stood at about 4'9" and looked up in awe of the ninja before him.

After a moment of looking up, he managed to wheeze a greeting that sounded struggled with every breath.

"Hello, I guess you are the ninja that's s'posed to take care of my problem at school."

The kid didn't even wait for an answer before slinging his backpack over his shoulder and heading off toward school. If they did not hurry he would be late, something his parents would not be happy about.

"Yep. My name is Jinseie, I'm here to help you." he explained, following behind the boy quietly as they headed towards school. He was already trying to formulate a plan in his head about what to do, but he wasn't the type for big elaborate plots...So instead he focused on getting the kid to trust him. "It's been a few years since I was in the Academy, but I know what it's like...Let me guess, you're one of the best in your class and the kid picking on you isn't?"

Actually, I'm the smartest one in the class and he is the stupidest. He's failed the genin exam more than a couple of times and he just thinks he can run things.

The kid rounded the corner, his short legs scurrying but his upper-body holding itself with pride and dignity, refusing to run in to make it to class on time.

"Even my friends do not talk to me anymore, because of him...""

He slowed a step, as though thinking before continuing. He quickly added:

"They're just scared of him. If he would stop being a bully, everything would be easier."

With that, he sped back to what seemed would be his top speed until they reached the doors of the academy, just minutes before the bell would ring. An older chunnin was there, waiting to usher the last of the kids into their classes. When he spotted the ninja following the chubby student he perked up a bit.

"G'mornin, what brings you to the academy after so many years Jinseie? And why are you not in class yet Gilby?"

Jinseie nodded a bit as he stood there, sighing at the notion the kid was bringing forth. Those types were the type that wouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon. They were the brutes who usually ended up as Missing-nin and causing more problems than good...Something he couldn't particularly say anything to just yet. The addition of friends avoiding him made Jinseie nearly want to groan as well, too. He still knew most of his friends from the Academy, such as Ishiko...

"Well, that's why I'm here ya'know. I'll see if I can't get him off your back." he said now, looking up as they neared the doors of the Academy and the Chuunin saw him, causing Jinseie to grin. He recognized the man's face, but it had been a while, too long to dredge up a name. "Good morning to you too, Instructor. Sorry we're so late; Gilby's parents have decided to get a little jump start on his future and have my tutoring him. I'm coming to class so I can keep an eye on him and see what he's learning so that I can supplement it with more advanced techniques. You know, to protect him from danger and such." he said softly, but he kept his eyes on the Chuunin's.

There was no 'code' for being 'on mission' between Shinobi, but Jinseie tried to convey that to the Chuunin. The lie was for the benefit of the students passing by them, who might overhear. To convey that he wasn't entirely being honest, he reached his left arm up and while adding "After all, if he's going to be taking on Missions to help the Village someday, it never hurts to know too much." he said, tapping his forehead protector with his left hand and hoping the Chuunin would catch on.

"Ahh, well you came on the right day. He'll be watching the genin exams today, since he's not yet eligible for the exam himself. That should take up most of the day. Hey, who knows, he might even be ready for the exam with the next class if he works hard with you. "

The chuunin opened his mouth as if about to say something else, but was interrupted by the bell ringing, signaling that everyone was late who was not already in their seats. The instructor instead grimaced and looked at the ninja and the student each individually.

"Well, I guess that since you were talking to me, it's my responsibility to see that you make it to class. I'll escort you, since it'd be the only way that you could get into class without reprimand from the instructor. "

With that, he held the door and ushered the pair through. They trio walked down the halls. No matter how long he had been away, it was more than likely that Jinseie knew the school from memory. He should know that the three were headed to the ninjutsu wing and would be seated in the largest lecture hall in the building, designed for enough room for twenty potential shinobi to practice their ninjutsu safely. The hall's desks, while set up in a semicircle during Jinseie's days, had been moved and now were clustered into groups of three, starting early simulation of the three man cell teaming. It was a rather new idea but would hopefully help in developing specialization of people for working in a team.

This of course would be the sight when the chuunin opened the door to the sound of the instructor, a lady who seemed a tad to young to have taught more than a year at the school, beginning the genin exams.

"Team Llama, please come forward and- Oh good morning Saru, I see you have found Gilby, that's good. "

She focused on the three who interrupted. She seemed friendly enough with her words but something about her screamed that you should not disobey her in the slightest way. Her golden eyes fell on the only ninja she had not named and she smiled bigger, though it seemed a tad more fake.

"And good morning visitor. Gilby, go join team Owl at the back of the room."

Before he left Jinseie's side, Gilby pulled on his shirt and subtly pointed to the biggest kid in the class and nodded, indicating that he was the 'target.' The hair was sandy brown and short, only long enough to cover his ears. His arms looked as though he had been at the taijutsu class since he arrived, and he had been here longer than he was supposed to. He was stone faced, watching the teacher, not paying any attention to Gilby as he ran off to join his assigned team.

Saru tapped Jinseie's shoulder and indicated that he should wait in the corner for the first part of the exams to be over. It would be a rather quick day since only the top nine students would be taking the exam this day, six before recess and three afterwords.

"As I was saying, Team Llama, you're up first. You know the material, I want to see each of you perform a transformation, clone, and one additional jutsu. Line up and show me one at a time."

[Versesai]

Jinseie nodded as the Chuunin stepped in and he followed behind him, behind Gilby as it were and stepping into the classroom as the Chuunin told him to, nodding to the Instructor briefly and returning her smile, though he didn't waste any time as he stepped in and moved towards the back. He took a glance to Gilby as he tugged on his coat and pointed out the gentleman bully, nodding to the young boy as he let him go off to his team and Jinseie himself glanced back to the young teacher before moving over to a corner of the classroom, shifting himself to make himself harder to notice.

The Bully would be dealt with shortly, hopefully. There would be plenty of time to do so before the end of the day came around.
