Johnathon was waiting on a bench for his escort, he was glad that the ninja's were helping him out on this. He was not a very tough man, he was kind of short and he was defiantly skinny, he had blond hair and glasses, to be honest he looked like an average nerd. He did not mind though he was smart which made up for all the bad words he got called. Although it did sometimes tend to get him into trouble, example with the gang that was being his problem with he ticked them off.

Johnathon was not a usual from Iwa, it took him a while to actually get permission here. It did not matter to him he was now able to collect the samples he needed. He just did not think the one week he has been here he would have already made enemies.

Johnathon was wearing a black cowboy like hat. It made him seem more dangerous in his eyes anyways. He was wearing a light brown get up, which clashed with his hat. The thing the ninja was supposed to see was his hat. Johnathon was hoping he was not late and the ninja already left, he was bad at time so he did not know when it was.

Hiraku walked at a moderate pace as he went to the rendezvous point to meet the man he would be escorting. He was a bit tired, though the strong tea he had would soon make him more alert. His two scrolls bumped together as he walked. Finally, he saw a man in a conspicuous hat. He suppressed a laugh as he walked up to him and bowed.

"Hello. I am your escort, Yagi Hiraku. Shall we go then?"

Johnathon saw the ninja that was going to be his escort he was glad he was not late and missed his chance. Johnathon bowed in return by taking off his hat and doing a little bow, it was strange for him he was not used to these customs where he came from but it was nice to feel more honored then in his own home.

"Yes, lets go." Johnathon said brightly he always liked doing things quickly although it did not matter he had no sense of time. "By the way should I call you Yagi or Hiraku? I never get that straight. By the way my name is Johnathon or you can call me John, either way is fine with me." Johnathon then put on his cap and grabbed his bag he had put on the bench and put it on his back.

"Just so I know are you a person who likes small chat or just not talking at all?" John did not want to get on peoples nerves although that was sometimes impossible but he was going to try and be friendly with this Hiraku since better relations made trips just a little nicer.

Hiraku turned and began to walk towards their destination. He found the man's reason for going to the waterfall odd, but a mission was a mission. "You may call me whatever you like. And, I don't mind talking much." That was only a half-lie; Hiraku preferred to get missions over with, but if the man wanted to talk, he'd let him talk.

"Alright cool." He was still unsure if he would be saying their first name or their last but he did not want to go into pressuring him to much. This was going to be a descent trip John thought. He hoped nothing bad would happen but he knew that his luck would say other wise.

"So what you got to be a ninja? I mean I know you live in one of the hidden villages and all but I would like to know why you turned to that profession. I know a few people who have lived in one of the five great hidden villages that never became a ninja." John knew it took both kinds. Ninjas were the guards and side stuff like today and this mission. He always thought it was fascinating why someone did what they did though. If he did not become a naturalist he would have become a psychiatrist it was just a lot more work that he did not want to have to deal with.

John started walking he was picking up his pace, he made sure it was not to fast but enough not to take all day just to get to the path. He did not have extreme speed or stamina so he could only do so much. He was hoping that most likely he would slow down this ninja that he would not get upset about it.

Hiraku blinked. "Erm. My grandmother thought it would be good for me to be a shinobi, so she enrolled me into the academy. It wasn't really a choice on my part." He stopped himself from yawning. That tea really needed to hurry up and work. "I suppose I could have quit, but I had no reason to."

Hiraku seemed a tad uncomfortable, but he was willing to do so if it meant making his client feel more at ease. As he talked, he constantly kept an eye open for anything unusual. So far, he saw nothing. Good sign.

They were getting near the mountains that they would need to climb. John knew nothing of the area and was unsure how they were going to get to the waterfall, was there a path? Did they have to rock climb? He really was unsure he was hoping the shinobi knew better on what was going on then he did. "Well we are climbing those mountains over there but how? I know it over the second mountain over there is where we need to go.

"Also I have heard in the mountains is where the base of the thugs that are giving me trouble. Do you happen to know anything about them?" John had heard it was a simple gang that had started up that terrorized travelers here, a few towns folk as well but they made sure it did not effect the ninjas of the village. They were a tricky and smart gang although not strong at all reason they did not want to deal with ninjas.

"There's somewhat of a path, but we will need to climb a bit. I hope that will not be a problem." He gestured to the area ahead. A slightly worn path was ahead of them, but with all the rocks and inclines, it was obvious this would take a bit of climbing. "I think it will be good exercise."

He walked a bit further before speaking again. "I only know what I was told when I was assigned this mission, so I don't know much about the gang, no. It shouldn't be a problem though."

"I don't mind a little bit of climbing." John was kind of expecting it, it was something when you come to a town called Iwa that you might have to do that. John might not be to incredibly fit but he did do stuff like this more often then people could imagine. The path did not look that stable but hoped it would get better over time but where he was going was not something people used often so he did not think they would keep the path up to par.

While all this was going on there was a boy out in the distance who started to watch the two. He was using binoculars. He knew the man was one of the targets they were supposed to hit. He did not know the other person with him but he did not really care, he had what he needed the info on where they were and how many there were. It was information enough to please his boss. After getting that he ran off to tell the information as the two started to climb the path.

"So do you think it will be a long journey?" He was also a bad one with depth. So he did not if it would take ten minutes or two hours without trouble. He just hoped it would all go on without a hitch and it was turning out that way so far.

Hiraku shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know how long we will be. Depending on how long it takes to climb and whether or not we run into any problems, it could take anywhere from an hour or so to much, much longer. Step." Hiraku outstretched his hand to help John get over a sudden, steep incline with plenty of pointed rocks. "Hopefully we won't run into any trouble." The chuunin smiled, although he knew that was wishful thinking.

John was thinking the same thing about trouble. Although he knew the base of the thugs were up here so he completely doubted that it would not have trouble. Least he knew approximately how much time it would take without trouble though. The climbing had not been so difficult so far but this was just the start of the trip so he was not sure what was going to be entailed.

The boy that had spied on them went back to the boss. Told him all the info, said John was with another man but probably just a local to help him get there. The boy could not tell with the way the ninja looked that he was a ninja. The boss then calculated two men should be able to be taken care of by five men, he would rather do less but he wanted to make sure it was taken care of.

The boss was going to wait a bit till they climbed to a better advantage point, there was not much room for a few people to walk up the path they were on then to have seven. He was going to have one of his alone fighters and one of his group of three, that should be a good team to take care of this problem.

As the two continued to climb, Hiraku paused momentarily to unlatch the bottom scroll from his back. He opened it, revealing the scrawl of black ink that formed a seal. After a few hand seals, a puff of smoke erupted, leaving two chained kusarigama in the middle of the scroll. Hiraku left the scroll where it was, taking the kusarigama.

"Just a precaution," the chuunin said with a reassuring smile. He held the kusarigama in one hand, using the other to steady the man in case he lost his balance.

John was glad things were working nicely, by that as in working together. John did know it could be just trying to do the job. That he did not probably care for John but John did not even care. He was just glad he was pretty sure they would arrive safe and that was what he was wanting.

There was three men sitting on rocks on an open area, they were waiting for the two men coming up. These men knew they would have to pass them, from what info they obtained they would be arriving at their destination very soon.

The fourth man for the job was the only one not being able to be seen. He thought the three were stupid why would you show yourself and not ambush them, he was not going to change their ways. It would be easier to do this when they were preoccupied. He was a small man quiet unlike the one man they were beefy, they did not look like they could get around that well though.

These men were carrying weapons but they were things you would find on any normal home. One had a pipe, another had a chain, one carried a shovel and the hiding man carried a cooking knife.

As the two men approached, Hiraku was able to make out the men's figures. He reached his hand behind his back, setting the kusarigama into the straps holding his remaining scroll. He motioned for John to stay behind him, though he continued walking towards the men.

"Nice day, isn't it?" When they were several dozen feet away from the men, Hiraku nodded towards them and moved as if he was going to walk past them. He didn't want trouble, but of course that was asking for too much.

John just stood behind Hiraku, some part of him was sure this was trouble. Why would they have weapons out if they weren't? John knew not to get into this fight he would just be a hamper to it. He did not want to leave the ninja alone but he was guessing he would rather want it that way.

"Well you could say it is a nice day for us but for you I would say it is not going to be very shortly." One of the men said, the one with the pipe. He got up and started hitting his hand with it to look intimidating. "That could all change we do not want you, we want him." the man pointed at John. "You give him to us and you can be on your merry little way. You understand me, pumpkin?" He was now just trying to mock Hiraku still not knowing he was a ninja.

The other two men that were in the open moved to prevent anyone from going up the path. They were standing there with their arms crossed not going to let anyone through. If this man did not give up it would be a fight but this was a three on one since they did not consider the hiding man apart of the fight even if he did not join.

The fourth man on the job was not going to do anything yet. He was going to watch and investigate. He did not like just jumping into things unless he had to. He liked silent take downs, that was his job, he was stealth while they were brute force each one had their own job.

The chuunin drummed his fingers against the side of his leg, trying to think of ways to avoid conflict with these men. "I'm sorry, but I can't do that," he said quietly. "It is my job to protect and guide this man so he can go find his moss." He lifted his hand to scratch the back of his head, moving his head in a way so the men could see the weapons on his back.

"I'd like to avoid trouble, but it seems that is too much to ask. Unfortunately if you have a problem with this man, I have an even greater problem with you three." He wrapped his hand around the handles of the kusarigama. "Now. Move."

"You are funny thinking we will move , BOY. We warned you." The man who was talking before the one with the pipe said that. With that he charged at the ninja. He was going to smash into into his skull knock him out, they could bruise him up later for the being an idiot and staying like he was told not to do.

The man with the shovel stayed where he was. He was going to prevent them from going the way they wanted. They all knew the back was covered by the fourth so they did not have to worry about that.

The man with the chain started going at John though. Their target was John not the other guy so if they could deal with the target they could leave the boy with less damage then it could be. He was spinning his chain as he walked at John he was more of a take your time guy.

John was backing up he was not sure what was going on. He was hoping that Hiraku could handle this or it could be a really bad day. "Hikaru what do you want me to do?" John said with a scared tone in his voice, he did not want to get in the way of this ninja. So he was going to try as hard as he could to not do that.

Hiraku crouched, forming a few handseals and quickly quickly taking the kusarigama from his back. He took one in each hand, gripping both the handles and holding both fundo weights in his left hand. The long chains fell around him. "I want you to stay back." He took the kusarigama in his right hand, gripping it tightly as he waited for the charging man. When the man was close enough, he threw the weapon, aiming the point of the blade for the tender area of his neck where it meets the collar bone. He then used the chain in his left hand to jerk the weapon back violently. At such close range, Hiraku was almost sure he would hit.

Once the kusarigama was back in his hand, he whirled around towards the other man, gliding across the ground as if it were ice. He countered the man's chain with his own, launching the fundo weight to wrap around the man's legs. He then crouched and jerked it backwards.

The first man as he was charging did not expect the man to be able to put up a fight. He saw him move and went for an attack, he was going to do something, he tried moving to make it so the counter would be harder and he might get hit. Before the man could do much of his movement the blade went to his shoulder and slashed it making a big wound.

The second man with the chain got tripped but with the momentum he fell right into John's left and made John fall over. The man fell as well his face smacked into the ground, which made his face start bleeding. The chain on his leg did not create enough damage to do anything.

The third man's eyes grew wide. He was not sure what was going on, he knew he should get into the fight but how? He gripped his shovel with the top part above his head, maybe he could just smash it down on his head while he was not looking? The man was really not sure but he was going to try something,

The fourth man just stayed in his hiding hole. He was waiting for a better moment, he was also getting entertainment out of these three. The fourth man always thought that the assassin like squad was better then the group squad always. This was going to be proof of that, make sure the boss knew what the skills of each were.

When John and the thug fell over, he gave the chain some slack, letting it loosen from around the man's legs. Once it was loose enough, he pulled it free. He grabbed the man's chain and yanked it to pull it from his grasp, simultaneously kicking the man from on top of John. Hiraku then pointed one of the kusarigama towards the thug's neck. "Do not move."

Hiraku had the other kusarigama pointed towards the injured man. "I would rather not cause any more damage to you," he said, sweeping the kusarigama in the air to it pointed towards the third dumbfounded man. "Your friend will likely die from that wound, and this one is one mistake from dying. Now, I will ask again. Leave."

The fourth man was watching the scene from one of the few bushes that were just right off the path. Right next to a big slope of going up on the mountain. The other side of the path there was very little and then it dropped a good distance down. The path was a dirt path mostly made to look nice although it had it's wear and tear since it was not a commonly used path so it was not maintained all that well. It had a few big rocks like the ones the other three men who were in the fight had been sitting on waiting for these two to get off of the even smaller version of this path. This path was thick enough to have about 5 men in a row standing side to side.

The man with the chain was almost completely out, he was trying to move but was probably just making his situation worse. While the man with the pipe dropped his weapon and grabbed his wound, looking at his partner that was knocked out thinking the boy that they were facing was no ordinary kid.

The third man, the one with the shovel did not want to deal with this anymore. He knew he was being out classed so he took his shovel and tossed it at the ninja. Which caused the fourth man to take his action and moved his way to John, taking his sword to John's throat. "Now you don't move or this man will get it. Also you can do what you want to those men I don't care. We work for the same man that is about it, they mean nothing to me."

The first man looked appalled, he did not know what was going on. He stood there shocked but knowing he had to move and save his friend. He was tied for what to do in this situation, should he save his friend or should he help get the mission carried out? He was not sure and because of that he just stood there like dear in head lights.

Hiraku looked sideways at the newcomer, squinting in slight irritation. "You," he dipped his head towards the man with the gash in his chest, "put more pressure on that wound. You," he addressed the man who threw the shovel down. "Take your wounded friends and leave this place. This one doesn't seem to care about you."

Hiraku was quite a bit more talkative than usual, but he was thinking as he spoke. He didn't move; he simply kept his eyes trained on the fourth man.

The man took his friend as fast as he could. He wanted to get out of here too, the fourth man was not going to do anything to help so he was not going to stay. The third man had already had left so it was just him taking his friend, he was doing it slowly since he was not wanting his friend to die from blood loss.

The man with the knife just stood there as he watched the ninja. He was waiting for the man to make his move then he could just kills this man, it was not his intention to kill him but it would get the job done. The man stared at the ninja's eyes just to watch his reactions to see what would happen.

"Like hell I will. You are not in a position to make threats." The man spit in the ninja's direction, not caring if it hit or not it was the disgrace of things was his intention. Then he pressed the blade closer to John's neck.

John was shivering in fear, he did not want to die. Tears were coming down his eyes hoping to all god that this ninja as his body guard would be able to save him, he was not sure if it would happen he felt like he was in deep shit and the blade pressing more into the neck on his skim just made his skin crawl.

I don't have time for this.... Without saying another word, he formed quick hand seals and the ninja closed his eyes. He concentrated, fully, exhaling deeply. he dashed forward. At his full speed and aided by the fuuton jutsu, he quickly positioned himself behind the fourth man. With a blank expression, he brought down both kusarigama towards the man's back.

The man blinked at the wrong time and the boy had vanished from his site. He knew the man had not ran so he tried to kill this man making a slight cut on this man's neck, it was a slight bleed before he got smashed in the back and landed on top of John. It also made a slight stab wound on John's shoulder but it was nothing to serious. The fourth man went unconscious but if he did not get healed soon he was probably going to die.

This caused John to pee himself out of fear. Which went right into the fourth man's face. He was panicking though he did not know what to do, he did not even know if he was alive. John was thinking did the cut go to far did his throat get cut? He was not sure but he was bawling now not even knowing he was making crying noises.

"Quiet, shush, you're fine. It's just a scratch." Hiraku grabbed John, helping him to his feet. Hiraku glanced down at the unconscious man. Though it wasn't quiet in his orders to kill anyone who gave him trouble, the chuunin didn't want to take the chance. He pushed both kusarigama further in, eliminating any chance of the man surviving very long.

Hiraku removed the weapons from the man's back, wiping it onto the grass before strapping them to his back. "Now. Let's go get your moss."

John felt very violated, he was glad he was alive though. "Can we take a second while I change pants?" John did not want to travel the mountain with pants that were covered in pee. It felt gross and all he wanted to do was to get his moss and get out of this country, it had given him to many troubles.

While the John changed. Another man started walking up the path, he looked like he could be shady. He was wearing a cloak that was brown and that was about all you could see from him. The only reason it was known he was a man was his build was not a feminine figure.

The man had no idea what was going on. Why was this man speaking to him? "Can I help you?" The man in the cloak did not expect someone to talk to him. It was kind of strange, most people ignored someone that was in a cloak like he was.

John had gotten out of the bushes to see another. John was not sure what was going on. He looked back at the man, then to John hoping this would blow over fast.

"Ahh." The man did not expect a man to come out of the bushes. "If you are here to rob me I don't have much. Please spare me." The man was thinking they were about to rob him, he was just a basic dude who dressed a little funny.

"What is going on? You robbing this man Hiraku?" He really did not think a ninja would do something this petty. Least not one that had not gone against the law, he was going to lose respect of this ninja if it was true.

Hiraku blinked. Realizing the man wasn't much of a threat, he scratched his head. "Uh, no, I'm not robbing anyone." If Hiraku had a better sense of humor, he might have laughed at the absurdity of the accusation. "So, moss time? It's getting a bit late, I think."

"Alright." As John watched as the man hurried along. John could not blame him he just had gone through a traumatizing experience here and knew there was bandits on this mountain so it was likely that he thought they were part of the gang. Him coming out of the bushes probably did not help either.

While they walked there was not many problems going on. Well until they got to a more narrow part of the path. John slipped on some of the rubble. He was able to catch a bush that was on the side of the path but he was now hanging on for dear life. "Help me Hiraku. [you are my only hope]" He was not able to pull himself up, he slightly tried and the bush he was hanging onto just started coming out by it's roots.

John looked down it was a long drop. If he fell he would not survive this, he was about ninety percent sure of this. John did believe in miracle but he was not sure how likely they would happen.

Hiraku drew chakra to his feet, giving him the needed ability to stick to the rocks as he shimmied down towards John. He was incredibly frustrated, but he manged to keep his countenance pleasant. He took John by his arm, pulling him upward. "Grab onto my waist and I'll pull us both up.

John grabbed on to Hiraku, one arm at a time. His eyes were closed shut not wanting to see what lies below anymore, if he fell he did not want to see his demise. He was gripping a little tight since he did not want to fall.

When they were finally on stable ground, Hiraku stood to his full height. "You aren't very heavy. Do you want to ride on my back?" The chuunin paused; he suddenly thought about how awkward that may or not be. "Of course, that's completely up to you."

John took the ninja's ride, it would be embarrassing if they had to do it in a more public place but it was just on a mountain. This made their trip much faster and it was not hard for John to find his moss, he collected a few samples and took the ride back down the mountain till they got close to the village he was not going to be embarrassed in front of the village even if it was not his own. The mission had it's ups and downs but it got where it needed to in the end. John was alive and got his moss, it worked out wonderfully. He was glad he hired a ninja.
