Maru's day began like any other. He woke up when the sun rose, got cleaned and dressed, ate breakfast, and did his chores. He was pretty much set to do whatever he wanted for the rest of the day. And it didn't even pass three o'clock yet. So instead of being outside, like he normally was, he was locked in his room, sitting at his desk with a pencil in his hand. He drew on the paper laid in front of him. Some pictures were small. Some were large. But the one in the center was the only three dimensional one. Nonetheless, it was the same thing. A twin blade sword. Two blades ran parallel to each other from the tip to the handle, which was pretty normal. After he got done with drawing it, he took off out of his room and ran outside, ready to take on the rest of the day.

He already had walked for a good ten minutes before realizing he was holding the paper with his sword design. He shrugged and folded the paper up, putting it into his pocket. He continued his walk for another five minutes before stopping and asking himself the question he should have from the start. "I wonder what Omoi's up to."

Omoi was beaming; she only had to work a half day at the hospital today. With a cheerful swing, she signed out her time slip, blissfully unaware of the many patrons that gazed on longingly at Omoi's curvaceous figure whilst she went about her business all the way to the kunoichi walking out the hospital doors. A great sigh of sadness rang out through the lobby as the doors closed behind her.

The kunoichi's eyes immediately set to scanning the streets, hoping that she find some familiar face in the throngs of people that passed by. Though she wouldn't say anything overtly, she hadn't seen Maru in quite some time... and she missed him dearly. "Oh, Maru-kun... Where are you?" she whispered to herself as she scanned the streets for her boyfriend.

Pushing passed people and going between crowds, Maru decided to head for the hospital. Omoi was there most of the time anyway, so he figured that would be a good place to start. And if she wasn't there, he'd have to search every last restaurant in the village. For the love of god, please be at the hospital, he thought. The last thing he wanted to do right now was wander aimlessly searching for someone in eating establishments.

While walking, he started to get a bit tired. He'd been in his room all day and the outside air seemed to be sucking his energy away. He closed his eyes for a moment to yawn and stopped so he wouldn't bump into anyone. Opening his eyes and looking down the road, he saw a familiar face that made him smile. Omoi. He took off into a sprint and made his way to her.

Omoi's eager eyes scanned the roads around her. There were many different people in the crowd, each with their own unique faces... but there was still no sign of her Maru. The kunoichi began to get disheartened; if there was one thing she wanted today, it was to see his face again. 'I haven't seen him in so long,' she thought to herself, a sadness beginning to set in.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of running footsteps from behind. Omoi turned, hoping that it belonged to the person she was looking for.

It was Maru, running straight towards her.

"Maru-kun!" she cried out estatically with a smile on her face, running towards him and falling into his embrace. Tears began to well up behind her eyes as she drew him closer, never wanting to let go.

Maru charged straight for Omoi, hoping to catch her off guard and surprise her. However, she caught him by surprise when she turned and embraced him in a hug. That left him a bit surprised, which he was not expecting. Still, Maru embraced her in return and smiled. "How have you been?" Maru asked, looking down at her. He saw the tears in her eyes and instinctively, brought his up and wipe them away.

Omoi waited to respond, instead softly planting her lips on Maru's in a long kiss as she pulled him even closer. Though the answer was a bit obvious, her answer came in a relieved sigh as she finally broke the kiss. "I've been missing you like crazy," she breathed, her gentle smile coming back to her face. "Are you busy, Maru-kun? Do you have time?"

Omoi leaned her head upon his shoulder and sighed contently. So long as she was with him, the kunoichi couldn't have cared less about what they did. All she wanted was for them to be together.

Maru's lips met with Omoi's and he smiled through the kiss. After she broke the kiss, he was a bit disappointed. He wanted it to last longer. "I missed you too," he told her, bring her closer with another hug. "I'm not busy anymore. Wanna go for a walk?" It would be good to spend time with Omoi. He put his hand on her head as she put her head on his shoulder and ruffled her hair a bit.

She nodded in response, squeaking as she usually did when Maru ruffled her hair.

Slipping her arm around his waist, they began to take a slow stroll down the road, intertwining her hand with his own. "So... what has my daring boyfriend Shoshiki Maru been up to?" she asked coyly, unable to suppress a grin that arose on her face. "Have you been swooning all of the ladies with your devilish charms?"

She couldn't help but giggle as the picture of Maru dressed up like a familiar Spanish masked gentleman popped into her head. 'He'd look cute in all black,' she thought to herself, a light blush coming to her lips.

Maru's hand locked with Omoi's and he walked by her side down the road. Maru turned to Omoi as she asked him a question. But before he could respond, she continued with something that made his eyes open wider. A small blush appeared on his face. "I haven't been up to much," he answered. "Just the usual training here and there." He thought of showing her the designs for his weapons, but decided it could wait. Spending the day with Omoi was much more enjoyable. "And for the record, there's only one lady deserving of my devilish charms," he said, winking at her and wrapping his other arm around her waist.

Omoi blushed as she felt Maru's hand slip around her waist. Though she'd never admit it to her boyfriend, she was terribly insecure about her attractiveness in Maru's eyes, both physically and emotionally. Before they had started dating, she had caught various hushed whispers of other prettier girls from their graduating class who were eying Maru for their own, and Omoi found herself struggling with bouts of inadequacy for days afterward.

Hearing his flirtatious compliments made the girl more sure of herself... and all that much more protective and devoted.

Omoi placed her hand over his as her cheeks turned a light shade of red. "What have you been training, Maru-kun? New glass jutsu?" she asked as they continued walking down the road.

Maru looked to Omoi as she asked her question. He saw her blushing and raised an eyebrow, confused as to why. Then, he looked to the sky. "New glass jutsu?" he repeated, thinking of the weapon model. Glass weapon is more like it, he thought with a smile. "Not exactly," he answered. "More like new jutsu in general." He looked down at her with a smile. "But I guess you'll see the Dageki Ryuu when it's needed. And what about you?"

(OOC: The ability I allude to in here is something that I haven't purchased yet, but I do plan on buying it in the near future.)

The kunoichi wasn't simply passing idle chat; she was keeping a close eye on his reactions, raising a curious eyebrow at his pause before he responded. She smiled coyly, allowing her curiosity to show. "I've been doing the same, pretty much," she answered, her grin growing slightly mischevious. "I've been trying to fiddle around with adding fuuton into my iijutsu... not to mention that I've got my own little 'secret weapon,' as well."

An idea popped into Omoi's head, and tickled the inside of his hand with her fingers, almost as if to try and get more of his already undivided attention. "That gives me an idea, Maru-kun! Why don't we show each other what we've found?" she suggested. "It'd give us something to do, at least, right?"

She was mentally crossing her fingers. Omoi hoped that Maru would find it to be a good idea as well.

Maru thought about her suggestion for a bit. Secret weapon? he thought. He looked at her confused for a second and wondered what she had up her sleeve. He then smiled and nodded. "Sure, that sounds fun," he replied. "Can't wait to see what you've been learning."

Her only response was a sweet giggle and an extra hard squeeze on his arm, one that happened to get pinned between Omoi's modest cleavage for but a sheer moment, perhaps as a little reward for Maru caving and letting her see his new jutsu.

Hey, even Omoi could be clever and manipulative if need be. Not cruelly so, of course, but one digresses.

The blue-haired woman led him to a grassy stretch, where a rare spectacle in Iwa could be observed: wildflowers growing freely and unhindered. Omoi sighed contentedly before walking to the middle of the field and unhooked her gauntlet from the belt she wore around her waist. One thing Maru would notice was that her gauntlet, much unlike the last time he saw it, looked brand-spankin' new, the metal taking on a sheen and shimmer much different to its previous state.

"Show me what you've got, Maru-kun," she said cutely, slipping on the glove. Hopefully, this would be interesting.

Maru followed Omoi, not really having much choice since she held his arm. His eyes opened a bit wider and a small blush appeared on his face as his arm went between her cleavage. He was taken to a flowery field, looking a bit surprised and figured Omoi knew all the good spots. Maru watched as Omoi walked out to the center of the field and take her gauntlets. They seemed a bit different, but he didn't mind. So long as she didn't whip out some huge and dangerous weapon. Like a battle ax or something. He shuddered at the thought of Omoi using a battle ax, finding it a bit scary. He shook his head and looked up to the sky.

He made a few handsigns and spit up some glass, which he made into a small wakizashi. I don't wanna hurt Omoi, he thought. But I wanna see what she's got in store as well. So I can't hold back. He brought his sword across his body and into the air, then sliced downward at the grass and flowers. He then held an arm out as though he were directing an attack. Suddenly, the flowers scattered in the air turned to shuriken as they raced towards Omoi.

D-Rank Ninjutsu
Using the clans natural ability to use glass they are able to make glass in their mouth. Due to the clan using glass for many years the clan members have it to where their bodies are no longer burned in the mouth from the molten glass. This only makes enough to make up to four kunai, but the glass comes out hot and the user will have one post to mold it into a way that they want for use.

*Hana Ninpou • Hikarakuyou [Flower Ninja Arts • Scattering Flowers]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
Prerequisites: Character must have a sword, must be near a bunch of flowers
Hana Shuriken • Hikarakuyou is a Ninjutsu technique utilized by Maru. After using their sword to launch flowers into the air, the ninja will turn them into shuriken which they can launch at their opponent.

Omoi stood passively as the flowers flew towards her, not really moving to draw a weapon or guard. Instead, she grabbed the wrist of her gauntlet and twisted.

A resounding click shot throughout the expanse as a massive flash of light engulfed Maru's vision. The next thing he saw were a bunch of tiny metallic triangles floating around Omoi, forming a dome shaped chakra barrier. The blade that was normally attached to her gauntlet had seemingly disappeared.

The flowers tinged harmlessly off of the newly made shield. The chakra between the pieces dispelled, and after a few seals from Omoi, they became coated in fuuton chakra before shooting out to Maru's sides, attempting to surround him.

(OOC: Once again, just testing the weapon concept. It and the corresponding jutsu hasn't been purchased yet.)

Maru watched as Omoi countered his attack with one of her own. He tilted his head at the triangles, appearing to form a dome around Omoi, and raised an eyebrow, finding that to be somewhat confusing. As the triangles then rushed towards Maru, he picked his head up and quickly went down, bending his knees. Pushing up off his feet, he leaped into the air about several feet into the air and flipped backwards, scanning the entire area. It was mostly a field, but a few trees provided some shelter. Omoi literally stood at the center and he was able to see the hospital from there, even though it was about at least an hour away by walking. Cool, he thought with a smile. Coming back down, he landed in the same position he jumped out from. He looked at Omoi and got back up on his feet. This might be harder than I thought.

D-Ranked Nintaijutsu
The rudimentary technique of the High Style, Jump requires the user to first perform a single handseal, followed by focusing chakra into the feet. When the user jumps, be it at a standstill or with momentum, the chakra will release in a burst, sending him/her a distance that depends on the amount of chakra placed into the technique. This boost is purely in vertical distance; horizontal distance depends on the user's momentum when this technique is performed, meaning it causes higher jumps, not longer ones. The maximum height that can be gained using this technique, no matter that amount of chakra placed into it, is 30 feet, while the minimum is 5 feet. Each jump with this burst counts as a new use of this technique, and thus requires handseals to be reactivated.

*Kuuchuusasatsu [Aerial Inspection]
D-Ranked Taijutsu
Prerequisite: Tobu [Jump]
This simple taijutsu helps users of this style to study their surroundings on the fly. While in the air, they will make a quick sweep of the area with their eyes, determining objects that can be used for jumping purposes. The higher the user is able to get in the air, the more area they can see utilizing this technique. Users with less than three wit will be unable to make use of this information in terms of strategic planning.

*Chakurikú Surú [Land]
D-Ranked Nintaijutsu
Another of the cornerstone techniques of this style, the Land technique requires the user to perform a single handseal and then focus chakra into their feet. As the user lands, this chakra will disperse, balancing his/her weight in the process, and creating a landing with a greatly softened impact. Users with less than 5 control will be provided with a safe landing from a maximum of a 60 foot drop. Users with more than 5 control will be able to drop from heights of 100 feet in addition to gaining the option of seamlessly transitioning into a sprint upon landing. This technique can be held dormant for a maximum of three (3) posts before it will dispel on its own.

Omoi watched as Maru pulled a rather impressive jump up into the air. This came as a rather large shock to Omoi; she was familiar with the Shoshiki's inherent fragility, and to see her boyfriend manage such a feat of physical prowess left her very much impressed.

She smiled slyly. The kunoichi might have to reward him for his efforts later.

Omoi made a few seals, coating the triangular bits in fuuton chakra before creating a 20 foot radius dome-shaped perimeter around him, sending three bits from the left, the right, and from behind rushing at Maru.

Maru watched as Omoi made some hand seals. He brought his guard up, expecting something big. He was then surrounded by a dome of the triangle things she used before. Some rushed from his left, which he easily stepped out of the way from. Some rushed from behind him, which grazed his right arm. He turned to the right to grab his arm just as more bits rushed at him, grazing his side. It stung like hell. And it didn't seem like Omoi would let him out anytime soon. He decided to try and ignore the pain and held his glass sword and got back into a defense stance, waiting for her next move.

Omoi couldn't help but wince at each cut that she gave her beloved Maru. After the first few cuts, she found herself unable to reasonably continue.

Unless...

Making a few more seals she started launching bits straight against his guard, sending one regular bit with no fuuton chakra slowly creeping up and latching on to the small of his back. After a moment, chakra began to flow into Maru, but it wasn't malicious; in fact, the small cuts he had been enduring began to slowly heal.

Omoi smiled sweetly as the cuts began to close. She was glad that at least she could heal the damage she had caused.

Maru didn't know what to expect next. As one of the pieces from Omoi's jutsu latched onto his back, he freaked out. But he calmed down when he felt his wounds healing. He smiled and watched his cuts close and looked out to Omoi. Remembering, he was still in her dome, he looked around. There had to be an escape. Somehow. I got it, he thought, opening his eyes. Putting his sword down for a second, he made a few seals. He spit up a lot more glass than before, and figured he only had one shot.

"...no plan lasts more than ten seconds in most combat situations..."

Remembering the words Oushi told him the day he became a chuunin, he realized he really only had ONE shot. Taking a deep breath, he covered himself in the glass, making a full body armor type thing. Gulping down his fear, he charged straight for the dome wall and looked to crash right though. If it worked, he would emerge on the outside and the glass around him would break off.

Omoi's expression was one of confusion; she didn't recognize the jutsu he was using. When she saw its purpose, however, she clumped the small bits together in hopes to prevent Maru's progression, but it was to now avail. There was simply too much weight behind Maru's charge, and with the sound of shattering glass, Maru was free of Omoi's triangle-bit cage.

Thinking quickly, Omoi made a few seals and shot a cone of fuuton chakra at Maru. He would find himself trapped in what appeared to a tornado if he were to be struck by it. Omoi would use this distraction to try and get a surround on Maru once more.

D-Rank Genjutsu
The user will expel a small gust of wind from their hand that reaches out up to ten feet in a cone. If the opponent is hit with this gust of wind, the genjutsu is triggered. A tornado quickly forms around them, essentially blocking their view outside of a ten foot diameter, and the tornado will move along with the target if they change locations. However, this jutsu is easy to recognize as a genjutsu to most trained ninja, as the tornado produces no gusts of wind, and serves mainly to provide a distraction or cover in the event of a tactical retreat. This genjutsu lasts for three posts.

Maru smiled, having gotten through that. He looked to Omoi, who had a confused expression before starting up another jutsu. This time however, he was on alert and wouldn't let her get him so easily. He made a few hand signs as well, not really knowing what she might be using, and started running towards her. He saw the cone of wind appear from her hand and he stopped short, almost tripping, then quickly flickered over to the right to avoid it. He continued running for a bit, then stopped and stomped his foot on the ground. In doing so, lightning rose from the ground and traveled towards Omoi. He hoped both jutsus cancelled each other out.

Shunshin no Jutsu is a basic Ninjutsu technique. The ninja will appear and disappear in an instant, allowing them to retreat or attack suddenly. To facilitate the movement the ninja will often use nearby elements such as mist, sand or leaves to mask their appearance or disappearance.

D-Ranked Ninjutsu
After performing a string of hand seals and stomping on the ground, the user emits five bolts of lightning in a line. Each bolt is two yards apart from the one before it (giving the jutsu a total range of ten yards from the user), rising rapidly 3 feet into the air from the ground in succession, starting from the farthest one. These bolts are pure energy; they aren’t solid so they aren’t effective in stopping objects. The shock created by the jutsu, however, causes the targets body to jerk and sends a mild pain equivalent to getting stabbed in the hand throughout the body for a brief second. This technique isn’t very devastating, but it’s useful in stopping charging enemies.

Maru managed to avoid her genjutsu trigger and had even managed to flank her with his raiton jutsu. Jumping into the air, Omoi channeled a short burst of fuuton chakra through her feet before falling down to playfully tackle her boyfriend to the ground, giggling hysterically.

"I think that's enough training for one day, Maru-kun," she jested cutely, planting a deep soft kiss on his lips as she sat atop him in the flower field. Omoi let the kiss hang for a good long time; if it weren't apparent enough, she had missed him quite deeply. Having gone so long without his touch and finally finding it again made her wonder how she had survived without it in the first place.

Eventually, she let the kiss break and she sighed happily. "Your turn to decide what we do, Maru-kun," she pointed out, a sly grin on her face as they lay in the grassy knoll.

By channeling Fuuton chakra into the bottoms of her feet, Omoi is able to extend the distance of her jumps. She can also use this jutsu to change directions in midair or slow her descent. This technique can only be used once per jump.

Maru looked up as Omoi took to the sky to avoid his counter attack. He watched as she came down, not knowing what to expect from it. He was then tackled to the ground while she giggled. He smiled and put his arms around her and rested his hands on her back. From there, he shared a long kiss with her, enjoying every moment of it. After the kiss broke, Omoi told him to decide where to go next. Maru didn't really know what to do, so he thought about it for a bit. While stalling for time, he ran his hand up her spine slowly, smiling back at her.

"Well, I've got an idea of somewhere to go," he told her, winking quickly. "But let's get dinner first. It's been almost forever since we spent time together anywhere."

While Maru pondered their next course of action, Omoi was content to simply gaze into Maru's blue eyes. She caught herself daydreaming for a moment; she could get lost in those eyes if she let herself. Omoi set her head upon his shoulder, sighing contentedly and blushing as she felt Maru's fingertips gently dance along the length of her back. Feeling his touch upon her back made her flashback to that night... that wondrous night that they had shared so long ago.

Oh, she hadn't let him go all the way, of course. Even for one as love-struck as Omoi, she had her principles. Maru would have to earn that level of trust. Still, she'd be lying both to herself and those around her if she said she didn't feel like she could trust Maru with almost anything.

She nodded, cherishing every second she spent in Maru's arms. "Yeah... I'd like that," she responded, pulling him up before slipping her hand around his waist.

Maru smiled widely when she agreed. Getting himself up, with Omoi's help, he brushed the dust off his pants. "Great," he said excitedly. "I get to choose the places then since it was my idea." His smile grew wider. He took Omoi's hand and brought her close enough to slip his arm around her waist. He did it first this time. He was eager to go to the place he had in mind. I hope you're ready for me Sarai, he thought. "Come on, I know this awesome shop," he said, beginning to walk. He didn't walk quickly until he was sure she was next to him.

Feeling Maru's familiar hand around her waist was a constant comfort, but Omoi had to admit that she found herself confused at her boyfriend's urgency. 'I wonder why he's in such a hurry,' she wondered. Still, she could imagine that despite his unusual behavior, it would be harmless in the end.

Now, the question was this: where were they going?

Maru led Omoi through the village, past well known restaurants, a few of which they had been to in the past. After passing those nice places, he began to rethink himself about the location he decided. He was going to a well known restaurant as well, but odds are, it wouldn't compare to where Omoi has taken him. After reaching the first restaurant they had ever eaten in, back in the days of Team Rasen, Maru stopped. He moved his arm from her waist to his side and stood infront of her. "I wanted to take you here," he told her. "I know it wasn't the best place we ever went to but--" He paused for a second and looked at the doors, seeing everyone inside. "I just wanted to go somewhere special. And what could be more special than when we became a team." Ending his explanation, he smiled at her.

As Maru opened the door, Omoi gasped in surprise as her eyes set upon the entire restaurant being filled with family and freinds Omoi and Maru had met up till now: Omoi's parents, Reiyaku, Maru's mother, and many many of Omoi's patients from all over Iwagakure. The kunoichi was speechless, burying her face into Maru's chest in sheer embarrassment, the shout "surprise" going off just as her face became an unnatural shade of red. After fighting off the wave of embarrassment and shock, Omoi gently kissed Maru upon her cheek before snuggling her cheek into his chest. "I love you, Maru-kun," she whispered as she held on to him, never wanting to let go.

Maru smiled as everyone came into view yelling surprise. It was planned later, after the two got the food. But now was just as good a time. Maru felt Omoi's lips touch his cheek and he blushed a bit, smiling more. She buried her face into his chest and he rested his hand on her head. "Love you too, Omoi," he replied, as they were approached by a woman, roughly a few years older than them. Sarai, as she was known as, was the head servant of the store. Maru knew her as he would always wind up getting her as a waitress, so she would be catering. She led Maru, who led Omoi, to a table in the center, surrounded by the tables of everyone else.

After they were seated by Sarai, Maru's mother stood up and held her liquor. She wasn't drunk like usual, which would normally be whenever she was really happy, and using her time being sober, made a toast to their anniversary. Sarai, having momentarily left, returned shortly after the toast was made with a large cake. She placed it on Maru and Omoi's table and everyone shared a short cheer.

And then the party began......
