The twins read some scrolls

Post by Gabriel » Tue May 24, 2011 2:33 pm

The twins sat in the library at the Iwagakure Academy, they were to learn more advanced knowledge of Ninjutsu and as such would have to start with only that which was considered Genin graduation level. They of course already knew all the basics, but they needed more and so had come here to read.

They had a pile of scrolls in front of them, and would begin with the first. It was a slightly larger scroll and possessed great knowledge of the more intermediate skills of Ninjutsu.
Scroll of Intermediary:
Ninjutsu, one of the three skills most commonly used by those called Shinobi. It is also the intermediary skill, the skill that falls between the other two skills (Genjutsu and Taijutsu) for difficulty, in both learning and performance. Ninjutsu can range from basic Ninpo such as the Body Flicker, to the most advanced skills such as the Konohagakure no Sato's Rasengan. These techniques from most basic to most advanced are used widely by all shinobi in varying degrees (barring some extremely rare cases) and as such knowledge of these techniques is quite common.

The most basic Ninpo are learned in a Shinobi's beginning years, at the academy and during their time as a genin. Throughout the academy years most shinobi will not learn much more than the most basic techniques, although some who are more advanced may learn techniques that a genin would learn be it from family or teachers, and as such hold minimal knowledge of much more. Genin however can vary largely in the skills they know, from those who are fresh out of the academy and know only the basic academy taught techniques, to those who are ready to become Chunnin and possess knowledge of elemental techniques and nature manipulation.

If you are reading this you are probably one of these Genin ready to be a Chunnin and as such you probably wish to learn some of these intermediate level techniques, such as how to perform nature manipulation, or barring that shape manipulation, a more difficult type of manipulation that supplies more power when brought to the highest level. Well, I suppose I shall break these different parts of learning into several scrolls, this being the most basic level scroll and shall be for those who wish to learn more about more advanced Ninpo. If you wish to learn more about Nature manipulation then you should probably read the blue scroll and if it is shape you desire read the green scroll.
After reading this the twins discussed for a few seconds and decided they would continue reading this scroll until it had no more to offer them.
Scroll of Intermediary:
Now, if you are still reading this that means you wish to learn more about Ninpo, the most basic type of Ninjutsu that requires neither Shape nor Nature manipulation and can be performed by nearly any Shinobi with enough chakra and some skill.

Techniques such as the "Body Flicker", or "Change of Body Stance Technique" are some ofthe most basic Ninpo. Other Ninpo include the "Chakra Release", a technique designed to release things from sealed scrolls, or the "Disturbance Technique", a simple technique that simply creates a slight buzzing in the targets ear. Of course, those are very simple Ninpo and are of minimal use in battle, unless of course you use large amounts of weapons in which case it might be a good idea to invest in learning the "Chakra Release" technique.

More advanced techniques that are basic Ninpo include the usage of chakra to move objects such as in the technique called "Scattering Flowers" which allows one to turn flower heads that have been cut and launched into the air, into the equivalent of shuriken. One could also simply form chakra into their fist and punch someone, increasing the damage caused and decreasing the impact upon ones own hand.

So, enough about the names of techniques you can use, you now wish to either learn them or learn how to identify them. Learning them would require a completely different scroll which you would ask your teacher or the librarian to procure, to learn how to identify them however, simply continue reading on as there is a list of techniques and how to identify them.
The twins at reading this of course had another discussion, did they want to learn the techniques themselves or simply learn how to identify them? Well, they decided, they would learn how to identify them and maybe later would they learn how to actually perform them, but for now they would read on.
Scroll of the Intermediary:
So, you have continued reading on and so you wish to identify techniques, so here is a list of various techniques that are quite common and how to identify them.

  • Chakra Release: Performed using a single one handed handseal and channeling ones chakra into an object, usually a scroll which would hten cause the release of an item or weapon.
  • Hidden Needles Performing a single handseal will summon needles or senbon or other such objects from the users pouch or pocket. These needles/senbon/other are summoned into the users mouth and then can be spat with great force at a target.
  • Scattering Flowers: Mentioned in previous paragraphs the user simply cuts the tops of flowers off and launches them into the air with their blade. They then perform a couple handseals turning the flower tops into shurken like objects which are then launched at a target.
  • Chakra Burst: Another technique mentioned previously. The user simply channels chakra into their fist and punches a target. Hard to define without seeing the results of someone punching something. If someones punch seems to be doing more damage than it should with less damage caused to them, they are probably using this technique.
  • Boomerang Projectile The user performs a few handseals and then imbues their chakra into an object. Once thrown the object can then return to them, although it might be in a large arc depending on the force with which the object was thrown.
  • Storage: A technique performed that can seal items into a scroll or other such object. A few handseals is all it takes to store such things.
  • Spiritualism Technique: This technique allows the user to summon an animal with which they have signed a blood contract with. This is common usage by many advanced Shinobi and as such if you see someone summoning a creature, be wary for said creature could be possessed of untold power.
It was after reading this last one that the twins stopped for a moment. This last technique intrigued them. It was a technique that they could put to use in many ways, for if they were to find an animal with which they could sign a blood contract with then they could possibly supply themselves with yet another partner whom they could use in combat. Not only that, but if it was possible then maybe they could sign a blood contract with each other, allowing them to summon the other out of harms way or even into the midst of a battle when stealth is required. There were really so many uses with which they could put this technique to use and as such they would begin planning. But first, they needed to finish reading this scroll.
Scroll of the Intermediary:
  • Torpedo Needle: A technique that allows the user to send senbon or nails into the ground. Be careful because at any moment they could form another seal or two and these objects in the ground could launch up, piercing ones foot or body.
  • Clearly Shining Body: A technique used by the strongest of Shinobi. Simply by applying chakra into their heavily honed muscles one is capable of decreasing impact from punches and other blunt attacks with ease.
Of course this technique intrigued the twins also, and they could easily see themselves applying this in combat, allowing them to decrease the power of an enemies blow and allowing them to fight to longer lengths.
Scroll of the Intermediary:
  • Cacophony: A technique designed to prevent being caught in a sound based genjutsu. The user simply channels chakra into an instrument they may have on them and create a random assortment of noises that will, if enough skill is applied, overbear the sounds that would normally cause one to be caught.
  • Flying Nail Mist Pierce: A technique used by Shinobi who use many small weapons to incapacitate a target rather than using full on brute force. The user simply launches senbons or needles from their mouth in such quantity that it becomes like a mist.
  • Final Solution: This is a technique that can be used to vastly increase ones physical power, or to make it difficult for an opponent to do anything. By forming a few handseals and sending a wave of chakra into the target, said target gains a great increase in strength, yet at the same time falls into a state where channeling chakra is impossible for them, making them only capable of using physical attacks.
Yet another technique that the twins liked, they could see them using it upon each other at the same time, or maybe upon themselves if it worked that way, and becoming far more physically powerful than they were. It would be an astounding help too, especially if they were to come up against something that would be difficult to overcome with their great strength. It would also help them reach Bannin level if they had to take a combat test, and as their plans rose they could see themselves even going up against the Tsuchikage and maybe taking his place with a technique like that.
Scroll of Intermediary:
  • One Hundred Blossoming Flowers: The user of this technique will do much as was outlined in the Scattering Flowers technique. By slicing the heads off of flowers and launching them into the air, the user then performs a few handseals and then said flower heads are turned into miniature bombs which can then rain down upon a target. Caution, this can be a very deadly technique and a very difficult technique to escape if one is not prepared.
  • Rattrap: A few handseals and channeling chakra into an object is all that defines this technique. Be careful though as if you touch the object it will be quite difficult without great strength to escape from being paralyzed for a few minutes by the sudden chakra flooded into your system.
  • Sensory Cancellation: By performing a few handseals and flooding chakra into either the ears or the eyes, a blinding or deafening technique can be broken if one has enough power. Be wary of people who can do this if you rely on such techniques as if you treat them like they are still blind or deaf, one may find one's self in an unpleasant situation.
  • Shadow Clone Technique: This technique is one that is labeled as a very high level technique. It creates an exact replica of ones self, both in strength and memory. This technique can be used to increase the effects of training as well as to give on the edge in combat. It is also a dangerous technique however, as anything that affected the clone when it is dispersed now affects the user, be it fatigue or pain, or maybe even memories which could also help for recon purposes. Another thing to be noted is that this technique fractures ones chakra, meaning that a simple use without any change will halve ones chakra directly, decreasing the amount of technique that one is capable of using due to it. It is possible to change the amount of chakra transferred to the clone however, and as such it should be noted that with enough practice and skill this technique can be quite the decisive factor in completing a mission or winning a battle.
The twins of course were interested in this, if not for their own usage but because they might come up against someone who would use such a thing. If they were to face someone like the Tsuchikage or Sekitan Oushi, then such a thing would put them at a severe disadvantage. If however they could learn and use the technique, they could increase their skill and ability in many ways, severely decreasing their training time if what the scroll said was true.

Of course, once they began contemplating that they decided they might as well put the scroll away for now. They would read the rest of it tomorrow and maybe start on the other scrolls this one mentioned.
