Day 43 After graduation from the Academy. 11:30am, August/23/####

Training hasn't been as productive as Akuma would like. He's been training for ages and he still hasn't gotten anywhere stronger since his Academy years. It grinds against his brain like a piece of metal on a chalkboard. Akuma's form was strong, but really it was only strong visually. He could feel his weakness in strength and he wanted to crush it beneath his feet.

Akuma was dressed in his rather basic attire. Clothes his father had promised to get for him before his most recent birthday. He wore a greyish brown vest, with the kanji for his middle name on the spine of the vest, Ikari. His pants are loose, so he wears a belt of silver weighted chain tight enough around his waist to hold the pants up while giving him something to train with. His pants are a forest green in nature, the outer edge of the right ankle has the kanji for Hakai. All of the kanji written in crimson red. He usually goes barefoot for training purposes with weighted wraps around his calves, but sometimes he wears cleats with metal soles. He also wears weights on his wrists, his legs, shoulders, whatever makes it more difficult to move and improve his training. Call it, persistence that he continues to wear weights despite his lack of progress.

Akuma was silent, moving only as much as needed to get to where he needed or wanted to be. Conserving his energy for training later that day. His chain occasionally making noise as he moved, apparently, the noise was enough to trigger an ambush because the very next thing Akuma heard was:

"He's here! Now!"

After the exclamation, Akuma watched as he was soon surrounded by five hungry looking Akari. They must have been the ones to usher citizens out of the park today since there had been no one in the park since he had arrived. Akuma had never shown his Shiin to anyone, not even his teachers in the Academy. His father was the only one to ever see it, and even then it was in their home.
Because of the mystery of Akuma's shiin, it was believed that Akuma was the owner of a particularly rare and high ranking shiin. Though a lot of the time it was simply his lack of active use of his Shiin that made some Akari angry, feeling that he was either too prideful to use his shiin, or too ashamed of his clan.

Akuma didn't move, simply stood there, ready for what would come to him. They came in a pack, so either they were sure one of them would eat him... or this was simply a clan pride thing. Either way, the outcome would be the same.

Kotaru typically wasn't one to be idle. His free time was usually spent training with one of his preferred sparring partners, but for the past two days they had both been too busy to give him any of their attention. There surprisingly weren't any missions lined up for him nor were there any requests from his sole student for a training session. At a loss of how to pass the day he spent much of his morning wandering through the village's underground.

He avoided the bustling markets and the residential areas, eventually finding himself in one of the village's many underground parks. The area was familiar to him, but he tried not to think about what had happened the last time he had visited this particular park. The memory wasn't exactly pleasant. The park was completely empty of people. Strange, Kotaru thought, considering how popular the area was for both civilians and shinobi alike, especially since it was nearly midday.

A sudden exclamation caught his attention. It came from only a few meters in front of him, though whoever had shouted was obscured by the trees. Curiosity got the better of him and he leaped upward, landing on a thick branch and them immediately swinging to an even higher one. When he was near the top of the tree he scanned the area and quickly found a large group of people converging on one person. It was immediately obvious that the group was mostly or entirely Akari and they were launching a planned attack against one person. Frowning, Kotaru crossed his legs and watched the scene unfold below.

Akuma was typically a slow combatant, in terms of taking his time in them. He kept note of where each of his enemies was as he stood still. This wasn't the first time he'd been jumped, and considering his clan, it won't be the last. The goliath of a boy simply stood there, feeling like this would be a fair bit of training if not disappointing.

The first boy would come at him with a kunai, aiming to stab him in the chest. It connected, but Akuma simply looked to him with a stoic face. Akuma's arm slowly gripped the boy's before another of the ambushers came to attack from behind.
Having hold of the boy's arm, Akuma swung the boy's body like a small bat, slamming him against the oncoming attacker. Akuma aimed for the head, simply to knock the opponent out, if this were to get too violent... it would be murder... outside of the clan's designated cannibalism sites.

Akuma clenched his fist around the boy's hand, closing it around the kunai that was stabbed into him. He used the kunai to point at his attackers and rotated to point to them all. This caused the boy to be pressed against his shoulder, still trying to get loose. So rather than letting go, Akuma simply clenched around his hand tighter, and jutted his elbow backward, smashing it into the side of the boy's head, knocking him unconscious.

Akuma remained conservative of his energy, dropping the boy and the kunai. Watching the others as he waited. The goliath then looked to the boy he used as target practice for his human baseball bat, who responded immediately with a lunge toward Akuma's legs. Another mistake, since Akuma rotated in response to the lunch and sent a knee with that rotation, slamming into his gut.

There were now two unconscious bodies, two had failed against one boy. The other three soon released their Shiin, one was a Phasmashiin, another was a Temershiin, and the last was an Eroshiin. Akuma made note to keep in mind the typical affinities of each shiin.

The Eroshiin yelled at the other two to attack him at once. It seemed as though the Eroshiin felt superiority over the other boys just because of his shiin's rarity. Akuma held no reaction and simply waited for their attack. The first of the two to attack was the Temershiin, who sent an attack at Akuma with his fist, using his tail to keep balance as he lunged. The temershiin was followed by the phasmashiin, who lashed his bladelike arm toward Akuma from a distance.

Akuma's response was simple, the phasmashiin's blade came downward from the distance. In order to prevent a proper lashing, Akuma got nice and low, sending an uppercut at the lunching temershiin directly into his stomach. He intended to angle it so that the boy wasn't cut in half, but rather cut the tail off of it's owner. Upon the tail coming off, Akuma gripped the face of the now disgraced Akari and used him as a shield as he moved toward the Phasmashiin user, slamming their skulls together to knock them out.

Last but not least was the Eroshiin, who had been cowardly hovering above and watching his friends get wasted. Akuma looked up and watched him, expecting him to attack. No, instead the cowardly Akari saw his friends get demolished one by one and decided to flee by flying away. Interesting since he had felt himself so far above them as to command them to attack. Akuma picked up the kunai and watched the Akari, he knew he wasn't any good at throwing weapons just yet, but he figured he'd try to huck the kunai at the wings anyway. Assuming that if he aimed for the boy's body, he'd actually hit the wings... To his surprise, he was right, and the boy fell to the ground from thirty feet in the air.

Akuma looked to the bodies and moved them into the shade of a tree, gathering them one by one and lying them on their backs as if they were stargazing or cloudwatching. He rolled his neck and began to continue his stroll through the park.

Kotaru eyed the scene below, quickly understanding the situation when familiar shiin burst into existence. It was some kind of ambush by a bunch of Akari, some cowards who felt the need to fight someone three against one. The jounin rolled his eyes, his mood quickly souring as the skirmish unfolded. It was nothing out of the ordinary for members of their clan, especially when it came to young and inexperienced guys who felt like they had something to prove. But it soon became evident that the gargantuan boy that was the trio's target far outclassed them. The fight was over quickly, somehow ending in the lone target's favor. There was nothing impressive about it. To Kotaru's eyes it was sloppy, poorly planned, and even though the lone shinobi ended up as the victor, he didn't seem to have any skills that provided any clue about why he was so interesting to the other three boys.

'How embarrassing,' he thought as the final attacker was downed by a single kunai, which wasn't even thrown with much skill. Kotaru let out a quiet sigh through his nose and briefly wondered how this guy would punish the unconscious assailants. Somewhat surprisingly, he did absolutely nothing. The attackers were gently laid beneath the tree and the guy walked away as if nothing had happened. Kotaru watched, his expression a mix of confusion and disgust, as the guy walked away.

He jumped down from his perch, landing completely silently, and then he walked until he stood over the unconscious trio of Akari. Then, before the guy could get too far away, he said, "Don't you think you should kill them for attacking you?"

Akuma stopped at hearing the footsteps behind him, listening carefully in case of another unknown opponent. He slowly turned around, with a seemingly permanent unamused look on his face. He took notice of a rather famous Akari, a Jonin. He didn't feel starstruck or excitement, or stress, simply cautious as it was a rather powerful Akari and he knew he was no match for the boy.

The boy's question was... irritating at best. Not because it was a question, or even remotely sounded condescending. That behavior he was actually rather used to due to his father. It was because the ambushers were cowards as well as weak. They couldn't even take Akuma down, they outnumbered him, they clearly had more than enough power put together. Yet they failed. Akari have a survival of the fittest standpoint in life, but if Akuma, a fresh genin who knows for a fact he's not even close to strong, could defeat these people... they weren't even worth killing, much less eating.

Their Shiin aren't even developed fully, or at least they could be stronger. A Temershiin should have been far stronger, and a Phasmashiin should have broken him down. Yet an Eroshiin was cowardly enough to run away after commanding his friends to go into what he deemed certain death. No, Akuma was not going to kill these idiots, he wasn't about to give them a mercy like that. They would soon be punished in the Akari Arena, and if he should meet them again when they're stronger, then by all means.

Akuma didn't say any of this, though he assumed the Jonin would come to the same conclusion. If not, he really had nothing to say regardless. He simply watched the Akari, he could almost feel the other Shiin that he gained in the arena resting silently in the boy. The fact that he could feel so much power in someone about as old as he was, and he didn't have anything near as much... angered him to no end. But he didn't act on it, his unamused face simply stared at him, waiting for the boy to come to his own conclusions.

"No?" Kotaru cocked his head to the side when the boy said nothing and just...stared. The seconds stretched out and neither boy said anything, and the jounin's frown deepened. The kid was huge but Kotaru didn't find his size the least bit intimidating, but the way he looked made the jounin stiffen. There was not much expression in the guy's face, but somehow he managed to convey a sense of displeasure. It was likely because he had just been ambushed. Not many people would be grinning after such an encounter. Still, Kotaru found it odd that the guy seemed mostly unbothered despite what had happened.

Finally Kotaru added, "But I guess that's the smart choice since it's illegal to do things like this outside of the compound. I could technically report all of you for being so damn sloppy." He turned his head toward the unconscious assailants, his expression briefly twisting into disgust. Kotaru considered them all idiots for fighting outside of the compound, and had they been discovered by anyone else they'd have been reprimanded immediately. It was the only reason the jounin could think that would explain why he didn't finish them off. But Kotaru wasn't one to quell violence and confrontation. In fact, he often did quite the opposite.

"They'll come after you again, most likely better trained and with a better plan. If they do, you might not be able to bumble your way through a fight with dumb luck the way you just did." After a thoughtful pause he added, "What did you do to them? It obviously isn't because you're flashy with your shiin."

Akuma watched the boy carefully, his expression seemed unchanging. The jounin was upset for several reasons, all of which were fair points, none of which mattered in the least in the current moment. The boy called Akuma sloppy, it wasn't a nice statement but it certainly was something Akuma agreed with. His power and skill were lacking in so many respects it simply begged the question 'How do you live with yourself?' a question Akuma doesn't tend to care for, his means is to try to get stronger, not worry about why he's not... even if it was something that always irritated him.

Akuma was calm, he saw the disgusted expressions and angry responses dwelling inside the boy's mind, it didn't take a genjutsu user to see that from the attitude displayed by the jounin. The hulking figure wasn't trying to intimidate him, and was mildly impressed the jounin stiffened at all. Akuma was no threat, not to this ninja, and in his current state, not to anyone. He didn't let the confusing response get to him or make him prideful in any respect. He had plenty of training he needed doing and he knew it very well, it's the only way he could imagine to catching up to this nightmarish boy before him.

In response to the final question the jounin proposed, Akuma looked to the boy's faces. He didn't recognize any of them, not even from the academy. He could only guess as to why, and the guess was usually due to the typical reason why he was usually attacked. Because he never showed his Shiin, he doesn't use it in training as far as people have seen, he doesn't use it in combat. People tend to believe either he is too proud or too ashamed of the clan to use his Shiin, the idea of him being ashamed of the clan namely comes from his never eating the people he defeats. That's usually because it's never in the arena and he knows he hasn't earned it. The other reason people typically attack him is that since they've never seen it, they believe he must have an Astrashiin or one of the other upper-class Shiin, desiring the rare breed of Shiin for themselves.

Akuma looked to the jounin and thought for a moment, whether it was necessary to speak or if the powerful Akari could deduce for himself the same conclusions he had come to or even if the boy was demanding he spoke. Not being the most emotive being in the world, Akuma simply stared at the Akari, if he was meant to die now then so be it. He will have died in progress to the clan, a weakness ridden from the world, and his only regret would be that he wasn't stronger.

He simply stood still, waiting, watching, patient. Expecting either an attack, a lecture, or for him to get too irritated to try figuring him out and leave. Otherwise, he wouldn't mind the powerful boy being his trainer, even if the jounin did tear his opponent's mind to shreds before ever raising a finger to them.

Akuma's silence wasn't out of disrespect or a lack of regard for his life, simply that he wasn't a talker. A picture is worth a thousand words, but words without action mean nothing. You can have all the knowledge in the world, but if you do nothing with it, then what good is it? Action is all that matters, how you treat others, what you do with the resources you have. The world revolves around action, not everything needs a speech to be relevant, and every speech can stand to be a word or two shorter.

Akuma did feel it necessary however to give some sort of response, for several reasons. One is that there would be no connection between the two of them, and therefore no reason to train him. Especially considering they're both Akari, though the question involving that respect was more 'Do they think you should get strong on your own or do they think that training you will assist in lessening the weaklings that exist'.

So Akuma looked to the powerful Akari, looked to the bodies, then back to the Akari and he shrugged. To most people that would be nothing, but in the case of Akuma that was a fireworks display on full blast. He almost felt that an easy explanation would be to show the Akari his Shiin, but that wasn't something he was willing to display freely, even if it's a respected and feared jonin.

He approached after having shrugged, not to be intimidating or make himself look cool, neither of those things mattered to him. He simply felt the need to express that he was willing to continue the interaction and proceed. The unconscious bodies of the weak Akari didn't matter, they were under a tree and in the park for people to see, there was a cut on the Eroshiin's wing but that wasn't anything that wouldn't heal on its own before people saw it anyway. There was no need to pay attention to them any longer.

His question was answered by a simple shrug. Kotaru wasn't sure what the guy's deal was, nor was he capable of reading into someone's mostly blank expression to figure out what he was thinking. The trio of attackers had ambushed him for one reason or another, and it was almost certainly because they envied something about him, most likely his shiin. But the guy hadn't shown his shiin during the skirmish, and truthfully Kotaru was losing interest. Whatever the reason for the fight, it had been settled - temporarily, he thought - and at the end of the day it had nothing to do with the jounin.

"Okay...." When the other boy took a few steps toward him, Kotaru's face twisted from a mixture of confusion and discomfort. He unconsciously took a step back to preserve his personal space, and all the while the other boy was dead silent. It wasn't often that he met someone who was even less talkative than he was, and for a moment Kotaru wondered if he was mute. If that were the case he could understand how something like that could piss off a bunch of cowardly Akari off enough that they would plan an attack.

This 'conversation' was going nowhere. It wasn't in Kotaru's nature to force interactions with others, especially not with other Akari, so he turned around to leave. If the fight was over then so was his role as an observer and potential adjudicator. "Alright, well. Good luck with your friends when they wake up."

Akuma wasn't a talker, he preferred action over any sort of words. Though it made sense to him with how commonly people choose to speak that his way of thinking was more annoying and difficult to understand. He didn't much care how annoying it was to other people, but he did need to speak up in order to make himself understood. He hated the fact that he had to use his voice at all, but it needed to be done. No one around was awake, but himself and the jounin, so it would at least be a personal interaction between them.

"They were likely here because I never use my shiin. Whether it's out of anger, curiosity, or because of what they guess my shiin to be, doesn't matter. They weren't effective training dummies." he said, hoping his voice was more impactful than most others with the basis of his silence being far more than common. Granted that was unlikely since this was their first interaction... meaning that since he spoke just as the jounin was leaving, it wouldn't be impactful, nor appreciated that he spoke. It would more likely be that it was irritating of him to refrain from speaking up until now on top of being rude.

Again, Akuma wasn't one to care about trivialities like this, but he felt the need to care. Not because he wanted approval, not because he needed to impress or friends, but because it was a jounin with immense power. Sure, he was a genjutsu user, but his physical combative abilities weren't exactly anything to scoff at either. He would have liked the boy to train him, he needed to get stronger, and both of them knew that he was sinfully weaker than he should be.

When he heard a sudden voice behind him, Kotaru paused and turned his head. His brows raised in mild surprise, but it quickly faded and his expression returned his usual look of vague irritation in the form of a slight scowl. "Oh? So you do talk." The jounin crossed his arms and sized him up again. At the very least, the guy wasn't mute. And as Kotaru expected, the reason that trio had attacked the guy likely had something to do with his shiin. "You should have just used it," he suggested somewhat offhandedly. "Sooner or later everyone finds out what shiin you have whether you like it or not. Unless it's a fucking astrashiin you're better off just using it and getting it over with."

Something else the guy said caught his attention. "There's no point in treating them like training dummies. They're weak, even that little eroshiin shit. You're not much better, honestly, but you'll never get anywhere playing around with trash like that. It was like watching toddlers play ninja." At that he let out a small sigh through his nose. He wasn't sure why he was even still talking to the guy. Perhaps his interest had been piqued at the gentle treatment of the assailants after they had been so soundly defeated; it wasn't every day that he saw an Akari with even the slightest hint of benevolence toward another clan member that was so clearly hostile.

"Next time," he warned, don't let them sneak up on you. And work on throwing your weapons. That was dumb luck."

Akuma had caught the jounin's attention. The words that came out of his mouth wasn't anything he didn't already tell himself and know for himself. The fact that he was weak and that his fight with the group was mediocre at best. Akuma wasn't too proud to take the advice, even if it was harsh, he was just as harsh towards himself. Akuma was fresh out of the academy, he was always considered physically superior to his classmates, but Akuma knew that he was trash compared to what he wanted to be... even compared to his superiors.

Akuma looked to the jounin "I can talk, I prefer not to." he said calmly. He hadn't quite grown into the man his build looks like it should be, his voice was deep but not so deep that it sounded out of place for his age. He his voice wasn't absurdly bass, but it was low enough to be believable for his age without sounding disturbing. "Most speech can easily be said through action, I just think it's a waste of time." he said calmly, figuring that he as to talk to this guy in order to get anything out of him.

Akuma left his hands out in the open so the jounin could see them as if to say he's not hiding anything. His eyes focused on him to say he's paying attention. Akuma spoke through action and he was trying to demonstrate such. He didn't show any signs of aggression, though he wasn't stupid enough to attack a jounin regardless of how much of a jerk they were... not that he minded nor cared about the boy's attitude. He was honestly glad there was a jounin his age, it proved you can climb to the top rather quickly if you get strong enough, thus setting a scale to measure his own power without having to fight anyone to prove it to himself.

Kotaru hummed as he idly fiddled with the hilt of the dagger that was strapped to his hilt. It wasn't that Kotaru wasn't observant or cognizant of the body language of others. He was simply straightforward in speech and appreciated when others were the same. "You might think it's a waste of time, but so is staring at someone you've never met and hoping they just understand what that empty look in your eyes means." He looked up at Akuma, having to tilt his head a bit to get a good look at him. "Staring barely counts as action. You gotta work on that."

Behind him, something rustled. The jounin turned in time to see one of the boys stirring, moaning softly as he tried to sit up. It seemed as though the boy was confused, blinking his eyes and looking around to get a sense of where he was. When his gaze found Kotaru, he visibly paled. His jaw dropped and he uselessly scooted through the dirt in an attempt to back up, but the thick tree trunk blocked his way. "Rise and shine," he sang, the feigned dulcet tone sounding more like a threat than a soothing morning call. The panicked younger boy slapped at his still unconscious friend's face, his eyes never leaving the jounin. Finally the second attacker - the eroshiin user - started to wake, though his eyes barely opened and he just groaned pitifully.

"What do you think?" he asked, briefly glancing back at the silent giant. "Have they learned their lesson?"

Akuma took note of his superior's suggestions, nodding in response as if to say 'understood'. Most Akari would recognize this jonin at all times, namely due to the brutality of his victories in the arena. Akuma recognized his authority, but his power was where Akuma's respect lied. Akuma preferred to keep battles simple, nothing exaggerated, no displays. Combat is a dance, a conversation, and showboating is disrespecting the other combatant. Conservation of energy is key to outlasting an equally powerful opponent, and sometimes a stronger opponent depending on how much energy the stronger opponent spends.

Akuma looks to the boys as he noticed one was starting to stir and wake. He looked to Kotaru and back to the boys as he noticed their fear of the jounin. He watched patiently as he seemed to almost feel the bloodlust surge through Kotaru, especially with the sound of his voice. Akuma stared directly at the coward eroshiin Akari, knowing full well that the only reason he even had to consider the idiot an Akari was because of his shiin... but beyond that he was nothing like them... the Akari don't spawn cowards.

Akuma heard the question, he gave it a moment, his eyes locked on the eroshiin coward. His hand rose slowly to point at the coward specifically, but he wanted the rest to leave. They had no reason to be punished beyond their own weakness, and that would simply be hypocritical since he was weak as well. Akuma stared like some sort of emotionless rage demon at the eroshiin user. The only guilty party of this whole charade of despicable weakness, again including himself. "The rest leave, this one pays." he said with the same deep almost hellish voice that comes with the meaning of his name.

He was simply answering the question, he was by no means suggesting that he was ordering the bloodthirsty jounin around nor assuming he'd do anything. The giant yet weak Akari stared at the eroshiin boy, There was no benefit from killing him, no benefit from eating him, not even a downside other than the fact that they've done this outside of legal bounds. He just stared at him, disgusted and angry, but unwilling to kill him.

“You heard the man.” With a cruel smile he shooed at the boy, who immediately scrambled to pick up the assailant who had yet to stir. After fumbling in a panic he managed to get the third boy’s arm around his shoulder, then he bumbled off and disappeared behind the trees. That left the eroshiin boy by himself, his eyes finally opening. It didn’t take long for the boy to realize he was left alone, and when his still-blurry gaze found Kotaru, his face paled.

“Hiya,” the jounin taunted. The eroshiin boy gulped. I saw your pathetic attempt at an ambush. Let me guess. You were born with eroshiin, and raised to believe that it made you better than those ‘below’ you. ‘Naturally fast, naturally clever.’ Your Phasmashiin and Temershiin buddies are more like lackeys. Am I wrong?” When the boy said nothing Kotaru repeated himself, his voice nearly a hiss. “Am I wrong?”

With that the eroshiin user made a noise somewhere between a sob and a scream and he turned around frantically. Whether he meant to crawl away or stumble to his feet and run it wasn’t clear, because before he could fully turn away a deep red melashiin had wrapped around his legs. A single tendril had burst from the small of Kotaru’s back; one was all he needed to deal with trash. The boy was lifted up several feet in the air by his legs, and at that point the attacker had his eyes squeezed shut and was making all sorts of pathetic noises.

“Shut up.”

The failed attacker flinched, silencing himself by covering his mouth with both hands. Kotaru took the time to think. He had never personally experienced a full out attack, but he had certainly witnessed it happen, and he had known someone who had to deal with it constantly. Not only that, but much of his life had been spent fearing Akari and their wrath and envy that could rain down at any time. Situations like this was one of the many reasons he couldn’t stand his own clan.

With the eroshiin user in tow he turned toward his new silent acquaintance. Kotaru lifted the genin so that he dangled between them. Perhaps there was a way to handle this and use it as a learning experience. “I have an idea,” he said to the eroshiin user, turning him around so that they were face to face. “You’re going to fight him, and you’ll do it right this time. None of that sneaky ambush bullshit. One on one, like you would in the arena, which I’m sure you’ve been looking forward to.”

“And you,” he added, pointing to the giant boy. At that moment he noticed the anger in the other Akari’s eyes. Kotaru paused thoughtfully then continued, “You’re gonna learn how to properly throw a kunai.”
Jutsu UsedShow
Partial Formation: Melashiin
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
Type: Melashiin
Like the typical Formation technique, Kotaru focuses chakra to his shiin, causing it to inflate. With this technique he can control how many of his melashiin tendrils manifest rather than releasing all of the tendrils at once. The melashiin is able to recover at double the rate of a normal body part would. The strength and durability of a melashiiin are equal to 3/4ths of the user's strength and stamina.

Akuma watched as the Jounin did almost exactly what was to be expected from an Akari, from a person of great power, and from someone of his temperament. It wasn't surprising that the Akari was a fearmonger, due to his known disposition toward genjutsu and fear being the primary usage of genjutsu regardless of country. The silent giant simply watched on as the attackers he had designated to leave left, the nightmarish awakening that befell the eroshiin boy was but one of many future trials he was bound to have before his ultimate demise in the arena if he ever makes it that far.

Akuma stood there, his eyes showing a distinct rage behind his quiet and rather controlled demeanor, he didn't even clench his fists. Instead, Akuma was controlled and calm, the boiling rage inside of him kept piling distinctly for future use. He wasn't a barbarian, he wasn't a berserker, he was more or less a monk who controls his emotions until he can use them constructively. It would be a waste to use up energy when it can easily be placed elsewhere.

As the Jounin had pointed out his own personal disgust with how the rarer and subsequently higher ranked Akari treat the less common. The two ninjas were both angry at the Eroshiin boy for that, though Akuma's anger toward him was the fact that he was a coward who commanded the more common shiin users to do his bidding while he ran. A sin as far as this particular ninja of wrath and diligence is concerned.

Akuma waited patiently, silently as expected, his eyes locked on the eroshiin while he was being put into desperate fear. Akuma was mildly disgusted by this display of fear, if you truly believe he's going to kill you and you know his obvious power over you, then simply accept death, stop pissing yourself. Akuma didn't say a word, only watching as the Jounin took a moment to think. While Kotaru was thinking, Akuma had already been pulling out a kunai, imagining clipping the other wing.

It was then that Kotaru had suggested that he start using the boy as target practice for learning how to properly throw a kunai, under the premise that it would be a battle, of course, the Jounin wanted him to learn, not practice. A moving target and insisting keeping his distance from someone naturally faster than him, essentially having to rely on his strength to throw the weapon hard enough that it catches his target.

Akuma, of course, nods and agrees in response with his eyes still locked on the eroshiin user with hellish fire in his emerald green eyes. He didn't want this to be simple either. You learn through challenges and trials, you adapt and grow based on your surroundings and the hardships you have to face. It was something he felt the melashiin born Jounin both knew, understood, and agreed with the silent giant about, even if they didn't know each other personally. Fame and infamy tend to create a semblance of detail no matter how false, and always results in a conclusion which in itself results in either fear or admiration.

Akuma stays still, watching the Eroshiin as he assumed he'd have to clip the wings of the boy first if he wanted to slow him down in the slightest. Not to mention, he also had to hit his target properly and in succession in order to classify his current training as a success. Faith in himself was not a factor, he had no opinion, he simply had the determination to improve and the willpower to pursue and prevail.

The eroshiin user was very clearly, and very understandably, afraid. Not even an hour before he had been sure that he and his gang would succeed in ambushing the giant Akari genin, but things had taken a dangerous turn. Kotaru was not nearly as imposing in stature; in fact, he was a bit shorter than the eroshiin assailant. But that meant nothing when he was the most well known members of the Akari was standing in front of him, eyeing him like a predator would its prey. Kotaru's melashiin moved and the boy flinched, but the jounin simply used the tendrils to right the boy so that he was no longer dangling upside down.

"What's your name?" After a gulp came the reply, "S-Souta." The green eyed Akari then slowly brought Souta closer. "If you run, I will catch you. If you even look like you're going to something stupid, I will personally make you see hell. Understood?" Souta nodded meekly and Kotaru set him down. As soon as his feet hit the ground, the eroshiin's knees began to tremble. Kotaru demanded that Souta manifest his eroshiin. When the wings formed they were still injured, as there hadn't been any time for the organs to heal. The jounin held his hand over it and channeled glowing light green chakra to it. The wound clotted, and then after a few seals Kotaru worked on stitching it up. "Stop shaking. Where's that confidence from earlier? Can't manage it without your lackeys?"

Souta seemed to stiffen as if to force himself to be still. It worked, sort of, though his face was scrunched in confusion as Kotaru finished caring for the wound. Simply put, even though the coward deserved a disadvantage, the jounin wanted to make sure that an injury couldn't be used as an excuse if Souta lost (again). Once he finished Kotaru gestured for Souta to face the other boy - the boy that Kotaru realized he still didn't have a name for - so they could begin. It likely wouldn't be much of an interesting fight to Kotaru's eyes, but it would be a learning experience to the genin: cowards and weaklings were not tolerated.
JutsuShow
*[Iijutsu • Blood Clot Technique]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
This highly useful field technique is applied to bleeding wounds to help encourage the coagulation of the blood. After focusing chakra into his/her hands, the user will hover them over the bleeding wound and begin to channel chakra through it. The chakra will began to thicken the blood, causing it to clot. Wounds must be dealt with one at a time, and the number of wounds that can be tended to within the three (3) posts that this technique lasts depends on their size. Small wounds take very little time to clot, while moderate wounds take one (1) post of concentration to clot, and large wounds take two (2) posts to clot. Although this technique stops the bleeding, the wound remains vulnerable and will require further care after this has been performed.

*[Iijutsu • Chakra Stitching]
D-Ranked Ninjutsu
When traditional stitching supplies aren't available, *[Iijutsu • Chakra Stitching] truly shines. After performing a short set of handseals, the user will gently place his/her index finger at the base of the patient's wound. Once this is done, the user will lift his/her finger and touch it to the other side of the wound, causing a visible 'stitch' of chakra to appear. This is repeated until the wound has been pulled together. Although precision is key, this technique can still be performed relatively quickly. Small to moderate wounds take very little time to stitch, while large wounds will take one (1) post of work to mend. This technique drains a minuscule amount of chakra from the person it is attached to in order to keep the stitches going, theoretically, ad-infinitum, and can be cancelled at any time by the user with a single handseal. Any intensive or strenuous movements will cause the stitches to break.
