[The Legend Excalibur]

From an isolated spot in the stands, Vale watched as two hopeful Genin carried out their exam. Their opponent, a Chuunin who looked to be a bit older than three, was giving them harder time than one would think. It didn't that the two of them seemed argued about what to do every other minute, ruining any chance of cooperation and teamwork. When one chose to engage in close quarters, the other performed a ranged jutsu which ended up harming the teammate more than it did the Chuunin. When one attempted a call out, it was ignored, resulting in a strike that could've been avoided.

Eventually, the fight ended as anyone half paying attention could've expected; with the Genin lying on the ground, their wounds not too bad but ensuring they weren't able to continue on. Even though a fact of the exam was that you didn't have to win, Vale had doubts their performance was enough to pass. Seeing them, he felt the anxiety in his mind ease a bit. No matter how nervous he was about his ability or skills, he knew that short of dying, nothing he did would be worse than that match.

As the failed pair were escorted out of the arena, Vale made his way down, emerging from a walkway as his name was announced. His fingers flexed reflexively, as he prepared himself, mentally and physically. It was time to demonstrate his worth as a shinobi.

Seventeen years old. Six foot six. The muscular, severe looking chuunin proctor stood with his arms crossed as the next challenger entered the field. The pair that had just left had been too pitiful to put into words. The man knew without asking that they had failed, and unless they got some more discipline they would remain genin for a very long time.

The next genin was a single challenger, and the young man watched as he approached.

"Next challenger, Akari Vale!" The announcer's disembodied voice echoed in the near empty exam arena. Once he was in the field, the proctor stepped forward so the two stood ten meters apart.

"I'm Karuki Yusei, your proctor for today. I hope you're better than those sorry excuses for shinobi that just left out."

"Begin!"

Yusei said nothing after that. He channeled chakra to both arms, forming a large manica that surrounded his fist. Immediately after he formed a few hand seals and a rock the size of his head formed in his hand. He threw it up in front of him, and when it fell back down to eye level he reared his fist back and punched it, sending the stone flying toward Vale.

By channeling doton chakra into their arm, the user will form rock from their shoulder downward, encasing their forearm and hand in rough and simplistic layered plates of stone. The stone passes over the hand on the back-side but leaves the palm-side uncovered allowing full dexterity of the hand for seals. This essentially resembles a manica, which is a segmented armor that spans the length of the arm. The armor has a strength of 15 and forms at a speed of 5.

Rock
D-Rank Ninjutsu
The user performs hand seals and creates a very hard rock that is up to one foot in diameter. It is somewhat brittle, and if it hits an object at more than 5 strength it will break into sharp shards.

[The Legend Excalibur]

Vale had just been about to respond to the proctor's words when the announcement to begin had been shouted. His body tensed as he saw him begin performing some kind of armored doton technique, gauntlets of stone forming on his arms. As he began his hand seals for the follow-up, Vale would begin channeling raiton chakra throughout his body. I'm smaller than him. That no doubt means he'll be stronger than me. A head-on fight most likely wouldn't go in my favor, so I'll have to try to deal right now with speed., he thought to himself as the small boulder came hurtling towards him.

With his now increased agility, Vale would dodge to the side of the boulder's path, the pass being close but just barely. As the rock shattered beside him, begin his own follow-up, performing a string of hand seals. Better to get an advantage now while I still can use this distance. At the completion of his seals, electricity would seep into the ground from his body, creating an area in which lightning would visibly crackle along the surface. The lightning would leap up at the proctor's legs, shocking and burning them if they hit.

Raiton • Blitz

After performing the correct hand seals, the user will channel Raiton chakra into their body. It will grant an increase of +3 in speed, but a -3 decrease in Taijutsu.

*Raiton • Voltaic Zone
C-Rank Raiton Jutsu
After performing the correct hand seals, the user will seep Raiton chakra in an area around them with a 20m diameter. This will produce an electric current on the ground in this area visible as crackling lightning on the surface. Any other than the user who step into this zone will have the shocking effect applied and their legs will sustain first degree electrical burns. This current lasts 3 posts, while it ends immediately if the user leaves the area.

This kid was already proving to be a more worthy candidate than the others the proctor had tested that day. Yusei hadn't been expecting a raiton attack from the ground, and he wasn't enough to avoid the shocks of lightning. They burned his legs and he winced, but he quickly jumped up and formed hand seals. The ground rose with him, and he used the momentum of the rising earth to kick off of it and backflip away from the voltaic zone that Vale had created. The ground crackled as lightning danced on the surface. It was a strong technique, but quite visible, and therefore easy to avoid.

Once he was out of the raiton's range he formed more hand seals, and another wall of earth emerged, this time a meter in front of him and it shielded him from view. From behind the wall, Yusei began punching it with all of his strength and with each punch a chunk of doton 1 foot in diameter went barreling toward Vale, one after the other in quick succession. He punched it 4 times before the wall crumbled into dust, and the projectiles he created made their way to Vale's position.

After forming the correct seals, the user creates a wall of doton within 3 meters of their position. The wall rises with a speed of 8 at a strength of 3 and can be up to 2 meters wide, and rises to be up to 3 meters tall. It lasts 2 posts or until destroyed.
