[Chuunin Exam] The next step.

Yuji had been training constantly since Kotaru had taken him on. The Genin had been worked to the bone too. Even when his Sensei had to go and perform his duties as a Bannin, Yuji always had tasks to perform. Some of them were seemingly impossible for a Genin, yet the Fukusha had shown a remarkable resilience to the shit thrown his way. Today was finally the day to show the results of the duo's hard work. A chuunin exam had been announced and Kotaru had briefly mentioned putting Yuji's name forward, something that had come as a surprise to the young lad.
The genin spent the morning of his exam day relaxing, it would only fatigue his body to do any training at this point after all. Yuji had been training right up until the previous night and had slept like a log afterwards. Finally deciding to leave his room and make his way downstairs Yuji made sure to put on some sensible combat attire. A form fitting high neck black tank top, equally form fitting were the black pants he decided to wear alongside it. Attaching a pouch to the right thigh for his weapons and tightening the headband around his arm Yuji was finally ready.
On his way through the grand hall he ran across his father conversing with Shiori, the pair's attention diverted to Yuji as soon as he stepped into view. Immediately the air was hostile a tension had developed between the three recently. "Father." Giving a slight nod towards his clan leader and parent before acknowledging his sister in the same manner. "Sister. Today is my exam, will you be attending?" The young teen hoped that his family wouldn't be attending. Not only would it be embarrassing to have his siblings there, but Yuji really didn't want his father's consistent scowl staring down at him during the test.
"I will not be attending an event where a son of mine makes a fool of our clan." The harsh words cut through the air, at one time Yuji would even have winced. The genin was not the same weak Yuji he had been when Kotaru had first taken him in. The sparring matches weren't so one sided anymore, he had seen to make a point of that. His Father had pitted Yuji against Shiori, someone who he had never won against in all of their past matches. She had been over confident at the outset of their match, Yuji taught her and their father a lesson they hadn't soon forgotten. The best part about it was he didn't leave a single lasting mark on her, unlike all the times she had left him thoroughly beaten. He was not going to be like his father or his sister, he would be better than them.
Giving a mock bow at his father's response Yuji spoke once more. "Then I do ask for your leave Father, I mustn't be late after all." The Fukusha danced around his family and moved on towards the compound exit.
"Giving that boy to the Bannin was a mistake, he has become disrespectful." Kazuo grumbled to his daughter, it was an opinion he had voiced before in front of her. Shiori gave a solemn nod but she did not agree in the slightest. While she was bitter about her defeat against Yuji she had to admit she was proud of her brother becoming so strong. Defying father however was never a wise move, Yuji would pay the price if he pushed too far. She shuddered at the thought but was drawn out of it as Kazuo continued their discourse from before.
Yuji began to approach the edge of the compound, nerves would ordinarily have set in but he had been trained for this. While Yuji had confidence in his ability he did not know what awaited him in the exam. He wondered if Kota would come to watch, the bannin was a busy person after all. Supposedly there was meant to be someone waiting for him at the compound gates to escort him to the exam grounds. Yuji finally arrived at the determined meeting point. "Here goes nothing I guess." Yuji whispered as he stepped out from the side of the gate post to greet whoever had been sent.
