Meandering of a Princess

Post by Ace Trainer » Mon Aug 16, 2021 9:48 pm

The young woman sat with her back against the rough bark. Iwagakure was one of the few places in the valley that trees grew - though they certainly weren't here naturally. The tundra was a less than forgiving environment for large flora, and the bark of these trees was thick and coarse to protect it from the elements. Heiya seemed unbothered by it though, the shirt she wore hung loose like a tunic, the collar tight to her throat in the front but the back a deep u swoop. The green dyes of the shirt didn't seem to mix together fully, giving it an almost camouflaged appearance. She sat in what seemed to be black shorts, though long black lace hung from it like a skirt.

It wasn't unlike Heiya to sit outside like this, under the shade of a tree to protect her fair skin, lost in her thoughts. What was unlike her, however, was the apparently moping as she picked up rocks and tossed them casually across the dirt in front of her. Surely she didn't realize it, if someone asked her why she was moping she'd surely deny doing such a thing. Such behavior was unbecoming of the princess afterall. But in reality, Heiya was in a bit of a headspace, having been given a new assignment today. It wasn't even that she didn't like the assignment, just that it was quite differnt from what she normally did, or was expecting to be doing at all.

According to the meeting she'd just had, she'd been selected to head a new organization the village was creating. In the interest of creating more reliable genma hosts, Heiya was going to be charged with mentoring and traning the young shinobi that would be chosen as the new hosts. Her first mission? Informing the hosts that they would now be designated as such?

A heavy sigh, the woman pushed herself to her feet. Twitching her nose for a second, she stretched her arms out for a moment then began to walk slowly. Her stride betrayed that she wasn't exactly eager to go whereever she was heading. She was, in fact, off to the building that had been designated as her headquarters. She had low expectations for the building, hell she had low expectations for this entire project. Heiya wasn't entirely confident in this endeavor, the leadership in Iwagakure was...tenuous at the moment. With the disappearance of Tatsuo, almost losing the village during the war, the many lives lost, and the general negative performance, the village was not in a great place. She was certainly recognizing her fortune of being selected for this role. It meant - at a minimum - that the village was willing to recognize her ability. But, with the current state of affairs and Iwa's history, she worried if this was simply a stunt to placate busy minds that would be under-attended by a great deal.

But, it was a fortunate position to be granted, none the less, and she recognized that. Heiya's long blonde hair flowed freely as she walked, the gentle breeze pushing it behind her ears. She'd sent word to the hosts-to-be to meet with her already, something she'd requested on her way out of being informed this. Had to appear proactive at least. She hadn't actually sorted out who they were though. It'd been told to her that files would be made available for her prior to when the hosts would arrive. That would have to be sufficient. She'd also be responsible for the recruitment of members, structuring the organization, and so forth.

One thing had stuck with her though. Well, one thing that had two consequences. They had made it clear this was "trial by fire" and that they were hoping for successes. But, the indication she had gotten was that this was a test run and if it didn't work out....well the hosts would not longer be as such. She didn't like the idea of training up some shinobi just for them to be considered insufficient and ripped from their paths. The other was that if this didn't work out, well....she'd be the one responsible. The Princess of the Shoshiki clan didn't mind the pressure, she'd lived it. But, she didn't quite like the idea that her image of success was fully reliant on other people, especially young, unproven shinobi that were about to go through one of the most difficult experiences in this world.

Rounding the corner, she set her eyes on the building she'd been assigned. She hadn't even realized she was there already, perhaps she was walking faster than she thought. The building wasn't quite decrepit, but it wasn't exactly well taken care of either. She'd immediately notice cracks on the windows facing her. The door looked to be covered in dust, not entirely unsual for a village plagued by the elements, but still less than reassuring.

She stood at the door, looking at it for a moment before placing her hands together and beginning to form a number of seals. Hesitating, she placed her hands against the door, it blowing backwards into the building as a new door formed of what appeared to be green glass. Intricate designs weaving itself into the face, and finally a handle forming. Nodding confidently, she pushed it open. Today marked the beginning of Fusekago Butai.
