Speed Training: 1

[Word Count: 1025/1000]
The morning was fresh. The dew was still sat on top of the rocks as Kurai made his way through the path. Training ground were his destination, and the plan was to spend the day there focussing solely on his speed. The youth knew he was already above the average in terms of his current speed, but he wanted to push that even further. Pushing himself beyond his limits was going to be something he would have to get used to. If not, that boy would remain exactly the for the rest of his life, that was not something he would allow to happen.

As he made his way to his destination, he began doing lunges. Activating his leg muscles the youth wanted to make sure his muscles were warm and ready to take the arduous training ahead. Failing to warm up correctly would put him at the potential risk of injury, something like this would only hold the young Fukusha back from the greatly anticipated goals he set for himself. To him, it did not matter how long the training would take, it did not matter how hard it was going to be, as long as with each passing day, his goals were nearer than the previous day.

The lunges stimulated majority of the muscles in his legs, giving a nice burning sensation. It was a nice kind of pain, the kind of pain which people knew would be of benefit to them in the long run, Kurai especially. Speed was also something the Fukusha prided themselves on, and disappointment was not what ran in his veins. Making his clan proud was another of his goals, a more passive goal, but a goal nonetheless. It could happen at any time, once he awakens his Shogo-zumi, once he reaches the rank of Chuunin, or simply once he uses a certain Ninjutsu created by the clan. That was not something the youth knew, hard word and perseverance were his closest allies in attaining that goal, and he was going to make sure they did their bit.

After the warm up, Kurai decided it was time for a light jog. Light was probably the wrong word to use, the intensity would vary throughout the run. However, to begin with it would be a nice run, just to get the rest of his body working correctly. With one foot in front of the other, the young Fukusha made his way across the fields, picking up the damp onto his sandals, and eventually his toes. It was a strange sensation, the lack of friction between his toes thanks to the moisture made them feel like there was something wrong. But there was not, he was simply not used to it. These were some of the mundane things the dark head thought about while being out on a run. Concerning himself with more important things, that were perhaps clan related, would have been much better. That was not really him though, for a Fukusha, he was easy going, that would not mean he was going to slack of allow the clan to be ridiculed. With those thought coursing through his mind, his pace quickened.

Pride was a peculiar thing. It made people do crazy things. From pushing boundaries, to sometimes ruining relationships with their closest of friends, and sometimes even family members. It was not something the boy thought about often, it did attract his interest. Whenever he was training, and a thought which stipulated that he would let his clan down, his body picked up the pace on its own. As if it pride was a thing his body was conditioned to, some sort of mission encoded into his genes. Now he knew, in order to push himself further, all he had to do was imagine him letting himself down, and his clan. The body would do the rest.

The lungs were expanding and contracting at a nice pace. A pace ideal for the pace he was going. That was about to change. It is always easy for the body to adapt to a run at a set speed. But the moment that speed begins to fluctuate, the body begins to struggle. It was not going to be his mains focus for the day, it was an aspect of training that was always in the back of his mind. Speed was the aim for the day, and he was knew that when he got home that day, he would be faster.

Each stride, each step, each dash forward kicked up dust behind him. Minimising the time his feet were in contact with the ground was going to be one of his priorities. And it was easier to do than he thought. Or rather, it was one of the easier things to change. But speed was not just about running, or moving from point A, to point B. It was also about how quickly once could punch. And this was the next aim of todays training. As he ran, the boy activated his guard by brining his arms to his chest, and rolling his hands into fists. Sporadically, his arms extended sending out punches into the air. Soon it was not just punched he was throwing, but also kicks and and sequences of the two. Kurai was feeling good about the days session, it was obvious that he was making good progress. His movements felt like he was flowing. Each movement progressed into another with a smooth transition. To a bystander it may even have looked like a dance. A violent a deadly dance, but a smooth one too. Kurai finished the latest sequence with a handstand propelled into a backflip. Landing on his feet, he took a deep breath a gently stretched out his legs and upper body. It was time for him to take a little break before continuing training.

As he stood there and allowed his body to recover a little, he took the moment to appreciate how beautiful the mornings were in his village, it was not something he did very often, but every time he did, it felt like they were more and more beautiful.

Katon: Fireball Technique
D-Rank Ninjutsu
Description: The user will either wave a series of hand seals or channel chakra into their lungs, after which they will breathe out a ball of fire as a three meter long stream that then forms into a fireball that has a 10 meter diameter. The technique has [Control] Speed and Strength. Anyone cought in the technique will be pushed away from the user, unless their strength is higher than the strength of the technique - the push back distance is equal to the difference between users [Control] and the victims [Strength] with the minimum of the size of the technique.
[Word Count: 724/700]
His eyes were narrowed and sweat was trickling down the side of his face. The light and heat from the fireball was really having an effect on the eleven years old, hard working, Fukusha. Mastering this technique is what happened to be the goal for the day. He had sworn upon his clan; 'By the time today ends, this jutsu will be in my arsenal.' The young lad said to himself as he arrived in the training area. Words are always spoken too easily. Embracing a promise like that is harder to keep. It was going to be a true test of grit. The glowing sphere of fire was coming along nicely, making Kurai aware that this was not just some simple fire release he could simply toy with. If used in the right manner, it was more than capable of delivering serious damage to anyone unlucky enough to get caught within its destructive power.

The youths small hands moved in a smooth but rapid mirage as he performed the necessary handseals. Air filled his young lungs allowing him to combine his burning chakra with the air he would use to exhale this giant burning ball. A few moments later, the same sphere had appeared in front of him, just as it had for the past few hours. Perspiration caused by the warmth from the jutsu was apparent. Patches of moisture could easily be seen under his arm pits. A break is what he wanted. A break was what he deserver. But in his infant, hardworking mind, rest was not a possibility. There were hundreds of moves he had to learn and become an expert at utilising. This rather simple ball was not going to conquer the lad.

Currently the boy made the decision to end this training session, only if he ran out of chakra, and energy, and his body had given up on him. A ballsy approach for someone his age. To an outsider, his lack of fear may appear scary. To him however, it was this kind of attitude which would allow his dreams to come to reality. Fearlessness should be something ingrained into the Fukusha from the very beginning, allowing them to master themselves across different disciplines and become true shinobi. His father was a great influence upon the boy, and the attitudes and views had been passed down from father to son. Kurai may not necessarily know the depth these views had. Nonetheless, the youth would speak them as if he did. All to make his father proud.

It was time to step this training up a notch. Going steady was only good for steady situations. If the situation where he had to push himself, or was not sure what to do because things were happening too fast, arose he would be pretty screwed. And that was not something he could allow. So Kurai once again waved through the sting of hand seals and concentrated on improving his fireball technique. This was going to be most likely his final use of the technique today. He was going to give it all of his energy and skill to ensure that he could perform the jutsu correctly. Afterall, a jutsu which is not mastered has only half the efficiency that it should. The effectiveness is also dramatically reduced, and he was not going to put himself or his comrades at the risk of an enemy winning a battle because his techniques a crap.

Waving through the string of hand seals, Kurai gathered chakra in in his lungs. Pumping them full of chakra through his chakra system. There was only one more ingredient the jutsu required: chakra. And now he was going to fill the remaining space with that very thing. He inhaled through his nose right to the brim, he physically could not inhale any more air. A moment to allow the chakra to mix with the air he just inhaled. And in one sudden burst, he exhaled the lot. A gigantic ball of fire grew before him. The heat so intense that his clothes were beginning to smoulder, but then, he released the grip of the ball by stopping to breathe out, and the sphere moved in a straight like until it hit a wall of rock, dissipating. A smile grew across his face, Kurai was done for the day.

With one of the jutsu already ticked off the list. It was time for a break. Kurai sat down on the floor and raised his legs a little bit to catch his breath and allow his body to recuperate. The amount of chakra he had used was pretty wholesome. But now he had use more chakra, more energy as there was one more jutsu which he had to master. A similar technique to the fireball, but this one was much smaller, much more precise. But as he lead there. He began to realise that he did not have enough chakra to completely master a technique he had very little expose to in the past. So, he decided that he would concentrate on his physical abilities as he had plenty of stamina left.

The youth pushed off the ground with his heels and rolled backwards onto his feet. Once he stood up, he began moving some gentle warm-up exercises. Get the blood flowing and warm the muscles up. It was going to be a long day today. But there was a good reason for this. Becoming strong could not wait. There was so much to do in this world and he did not want to waste his time just sitting around not doing anything. So with his body all warmed up, it was time to get moving, properly.

Kurai took of in a sprint, heading in a straight line and putting maximum effort into the run. His glutes were forcing forwards, kicking dust up into the air. After around a hundred meters, he slowed down into a gentle run. From there, he began dashing in different directions. At maximum speed for about 20 meters, where he would slow down to a gentle run and change direction, taking off at maximum speed once again.

His legs and core muscles were burning. His legs were doing all the hard effort, carrying the body at crazy speeds. The core on the other hand was making sure the body remained up right and balanced. Doing so while moving at such speeds and while changing direction placed a great amount of pressure on the core muscles. The youth was looking forward to the next few days when his legs were in pain from all the pressure placed on them now. And after came the rewards of this hardcore training session. and now it was time to give them a little break and focus on the rest of his body.

His hands were brought up to his chest as he applied a simple guard. It was time to throws some punches and kicks, and build up the speed he would use in melee combat. His right hand extended and contracted rapidly, and his left did the same intermittently. As he did this he also worked on his footwork, changing his stances, lowering down and turning to attack from different angles. Occasionally the odd kick would be included in the combo. What he was concentrating was utilising those movements at a very fast pace. Faster than normal because that was the only way for his body to get used to this speed and to adopt it.

Kurai dashed forwards and came to a stop quickly and efficiently. It was clear that he was adapting rather quickly. But this was not enough. Even thought his body felt worn out, that it needed a rest. Kurai was not going to give in and simply head back to his clans compound where he would see the rest of his clan getting on with their tasks. It would be disrespectful, and that was not something he was going to do. He wanted to make the clan proud, just like he was proud of the clan. His arms raised back to thwere they were before and the punches he began throwing were faster than any before. With his resolve re-energised, he felt like he could keep going for days. He was so eager to better himself he simply did not know when to stop.

Now it was time to include some acrobatics into the fold. He stood looking sideways. He tilted his weight onto one leg and by using the other he built up momentum to flip himself in a cartwheel like manner, but he did not touch the ground with anything other than his hands. This exercise made him feel weird, light headed and it made his head spin a little. But it was a rather useful exercise. He carried on doing it, but he was doing both ways. He wanted his body to develop symmetrically. So he had to perform the same exercise on both sides. Going the other way was much harder. That side of this body was obviously not as developed as the other. It was pretty hard to get it moving, everything felt off about it. But he persevered and pushed himself to his limits and beyond them. Sweat was casually trickling down his face as he pushed himself to the brink of collapse.

Eventually Kurai fell to his knees and used his arms to support his body while he caught his breath. The exertion he placed onto himself was immense and his body was slowly shutting down due to all the lactic acid and pain placed on his body. Slowly he lay down on the ground and turned around to look up at the sky. Only now he noticed that the sky was free of clouds. It looked amazing, he was glad that he took this time out to actually admire the beauty of nature. His breathing returning back to normal, and his eyes fixed on the sky above him. This was very therapeutic, it was a good way to finish a pretty intense training session. Slowly, his eyes began to close and eventually he was close to falling asleep. But subconsciously, his body tried to keep him awake, that is how badly the youth wanted to continue training. How much he wanted to become stronger. But soon, he ended up falling asleep, to get the sleep he very much deserved.
