The boy chuckled at the thought but who could blame him, his father's disastrous life had brought them to live in shambles, in fact, had it not been for his sister then he was sure that they would live in total squalor. Life as a ninja wasn't really the best but it was better than being a beggar, or even worse, as a criminal. You know better than to rag on the poor, there is nothing wrong with begging...

It was clear that he was living a life full of conflicts, on the one hand, he wanted to do good in the world, to become someone who could help people but on the other hand, the one that was supposed to guide him had led him to a life that teetered on the edge of criminality, fortunately, he had avoided such a life but one false step and Tokato would be down the wrong path.

What made things worse was the fact that his father was about to commit another crime, one which the boy couldn't just push to the side, the consequences of his actions would live with Tokato for the rest of his life. He had cooked up a scheme to break into the Tenku Corps building and steal what he believed was rightfully his. Tokato had no idea what his father was up to, nor did he have anything to do with it, all he knew that night was that he was thirsty and he wanted to go and buy himself a drink this late evening.

"Damn it...."

Very few things annoyed the newly appointed head of the Tenkujutsu Research Institute more than failure. Poorly brewed tea and incompetence from his subordinates neared the top of the list, but failure in general irritated him above all else. Staring up at him from behind a glass case was a spirit, clawing at the base of its container. It had the appearance of a dog-sized green rat with mushrooms growing on its back. Its black eyes were locked onto Shizuo, and it gave him a deep hiss when the man tapped on the glass. He jotted down a few notes, mumbling to himself and ignoring the sounds of the agitated spirit as it futilely tried to escape. Once he was done, Komiya Shizuo tossed his pen onto his workstation and left his lab, locking the door behind him.

The sound of his footsteps echoed against the the walls of empty hall with a crisp cadence. Shizuo, though tired, walked purposefully through the dark building. It was well past close, and he was one of the few workers who remained in the building. He said goodnight to the other scientists he came across, though one of the junior scientists stopped him and asked for his advice. Although he was annoyed and hungry the man obliged, never one to avoid the opportunity to teach.

Somewhere in Iwagakure wandered a little kid, his hands dug in his hood pocket, his half mask was on and hood covering his head as the winter cold was still lingering in the air. Tokato wondered a lot about what would happen to his family, and what would become of his future, the uncertainty of his life wasn't something he ever took lightly, especially considering that he wanted a life with honor, one where he could grow and one day even become a hero! Imagine that, restoring the family name, becoming a hero, and saving Iwa from monsters. Tokato smiled under his mask, he didn't want to envision a future where his path took a darker turn, one where he followed his father's footsteps.

Speaking of his father, he was skulking around the sleepy village with a small crew of thieves, they were setting up the heist for Order Genma as Tokato's father, Tokagi had felt robbed when Otsukoki had been granted to someone else a few decades ago and each time a new host had been chosen Tokagi had been snubbed, but that was enough, he was going to get the Genma one way or another and alter the history his family name, even if it meant that their name would become infamous.

Outside the 24/7 deli, the young boy stopped to check his pouch, he wanted to check and see if he could afford something else while he was already here, he would be able to afford a pack of Ramen noodles and a chocolate bar. "Hey Tokato, how have you been?" The older store clerk said as he watched the kid enter the deli, he watched Tokato pick out the items and then walk to the cashier.

"Hey Mikoto, I've been well, It's been a bit slow for us now that they seemingly are preparing for something huge." Tokato had heard about the Wind Country Invasion and wasn't sure where he sat with that as of yet, he lacked all the information to make a judgment, and now that Iwagakure was on their way to invading Sunagakure, well, let's just say Tokato would rather focus on smaller scale issues for now.

"Yeah, hopefully, we will be able to get some of their merchandise to sell here." Mikoto laughed and rubbed his belly, Tokato just smiled and nodded.

"Hopefully. I just wish people didn't have to die, but I guess that's the way of life huh?" Tokato sighed, Mikoto shook his head as well, and both looked down on the ground before Tokato bid farewell and exited the store.

Right as he stepped out of the deli he would bump into an unknown man, Tokato would fall on his rear and dropped his bag, his can busted and let out the liquid, which bummed the young man. "Aw man... I just bought that."
