phpBB [video] The Heart of the Iwagakure no Sato was the massive marketplace. From the surface it may seem like a courtyard alone, but it spiraled deep into the earth where the complex only continued as an underground market in the literal sense of the word rather than the criminal sense. The market place was somewhere that was thriving with life. It was the kind of place that Nikkou loved. It was true that people criticized her for being a child and a troublemaker. Nikkou didn’t know if she could ever escape those accusations. She just loved being here and in places like this and eating up the energy.

There was just something about a place like this, she thought. The way the people moved, the way they spoke and interacted with each other. It filled Nikkou with excitement. As she peered from the top of a building at the hustle and bustle down below she was filled with the desire to be among them. To be them. She wanted to be apart of the dance of these people’s lives. It seemed so exciting from the outside even if it wasn’t really. These people were just grocery shopping or performing the business that they needed to get done in the day. Activities that the Enkouten would perhaps find boring were she on their side of things - but when there was so many people it was all rather exciting.

The Young Enkouten sprang into action, running along the rooftops of shops. Some Shinobi considered this method of traveling mundane, but Nikkou still felt a rush and she sought ever greater and greater thrills. She jumped onto the side of a large building, running high up its walls until she felt the force of her momentum stop. Then she placed a hand on the wall to steady herself and released her wall walking jutsu to enough of a degree to let her slide down to the base of the building at high speeds - propelled to gravity. As she landed it startled some nearby people, and it even upset a cart animal causing goods to get overturned. A man began to shake his fist and yell at her, Nikkou just wore an embarrassed grin that turned to shock when the man decided to call for the ninja police against her.

Suddenly it was a game. Nikkou laughed with glee as they chased her through the marketplace and she used her knowledge of the place from being an unruly child to her advantage. She danced through the crowd swaying and weaving in and out between people - preventing the ninja police from closing on her. She became a blob of yellow and silver in an otherwise monotonous sea of grey of the market goers. She was alive and full of life, and right now being chased through the marketplace was the most exciting thing she could be doing.

Was she causing trouble again? It was certainly true!

But she hadn’t intended to cause any trouble, she was just here to have fun, and like always she ended up being chased and hunted by her fellow villagers. She wondered hwo long it would be until the Enkouten clan kicked her out of the clan for her perceived bad behavior? Their traditional way of thinking was suffocating and restrictive.

Nikkou leapt through the air and she enjoyed the sensation of being free.

Thats all she wanted. Just to be free and among people. Why couldn’t she have both?

Kanade watched the girl running over the rooftops, another Enkouten and a part of the clan to which she had recently been inducted. Her baby, Akiyo, on her hip she wandered through the marketplace, really just letting Akiyo see the sights with her green eyes all wild and full of wonder. Kanade had Kotori to thank that Akiyo had been born when she had, and not had to fight while she was pregnant in the upcoming confrontation with Konoha, instigated by Iwa's attack on Sunagakure. She had no idea why Konoha was even bothering, having not been privvy to the death parade, nor the details of the first invasion. She just knew that she had signed up for the defense of Iwagakure, and that weighed heavily on her shoulders.

As she readjusted little Akiyo on her hip and the infant grabbed at one of her breasts to hold on tighter, the cart in front of Kanade tipped over backward, spilling the contents off the back end. It seemed like something had spooked the poor donkey as it brayed, its eyes wide and wild, looking at-. Kanade frowned at the Enkouten that she had seen darting hither and thither among the rooftops. She got out her kunai from her pocket, the ones with the seals on them to help her teleport and handed them over to a select few of her swarm of butterflies, "Go and get in front of her, I'll have a chat with her when you've done this." She said as the street police, little more than chuunin themselves started the chase after the girl. Kanade bent to pick up some of the contents from the ground to try to help the man put them into the cart. He started to thank her and then stopped.

"Get away from my wares, body thief, and take that demon child with you." He stooped to pick up a stone and hurled it at Kanade. Kanade calmly stood, turned, and let the stone strike her in the shoulder which wasn't carrying Akiyo. It made a rough thump that apparently Akiyo could still feel through her mother. Akiyo looked from her mother to the man, an Enkouten himself, and then back to her mother and decided that she wanted to cry about it.

Kanade bounced her baby on her hip and decided that anything that she said or did besides leaving at that point in time would just upset the man further. She channeled some chakra into a seal on her hand and then stepped forward one step, emerging out of thin air five paces directly in front of Nikkou. She sighed and pointed to Nikkou, looking at Akiyo, "Can you tell her to please go back and pick up after herself." Kanade asked Akiyo, who was in the middle of crying, but in hearing her mothers voice looked around, disoriented for a moment before looking up at her mother. She cooed and then had a good giggle since the scary man was gone.

Kanade leveled a look with her incandescent orange eyes at the other Enkouten woman, then the police behind her. She gave a curt signal that she had it handled to them. They nodded and departed. She waited for Nikkou to speak, readjusting the squirrely infant again onto her hip in the sling she kept over her shoulder. Akiyo was busy running her hands through Kanade's hair, pulling at strands of it which turned to obsidian, which she was tossing onto the rooftops, shattering into bits of sharpened black glass.

Nikkou landed, she looked over her shoulder with a grin on her face before she turned back to face forward and suddenly! There was a woman with a baby there. She planted her heels into the ground to avoid a collision. That was the LAST thing she wanted! There were few with such delicious looking skin outside of the Enkouten or without Enkouten heritage. It was a surprise to find someone as well dressed as this woman was, and even the little one seemed to be well dressed. She lifted her hand and pointed at Nikkou accusatorily, to which Nikkou gestured to herself with a confused expression. The woman looked to the child conspiratorially at the child and said, , "Can you tell her to please go back and pick up after herself."

Nikkou began to stutter, turning to look back over her shoulder at the police chasing her. The woman waived and they veered off, finding something else to do instead. Nikkou had seen this woman around the clan compound before but there was something different about her today that she couldn’t quite put her finger on. Perhaps it was just that the way she dressed seemed to have changed? That must have been it. Who wore formal clothes to market after all? Hm… then again it could have been the baby. ”Th-the baby?” Nikkou peered at the child curiously. ”B-but she is just a baby! How is am I supposed to tell her to clean up after herself?” Nikkou shook her head violently to clean the complicated thoughts out of her mind. She looked up and met Kanade’s eyes with a genuine smile on her face as she looked the woman over.

The child was running her hands through the woman’s hair, and Nikkou did agree that it looked like a very pretty shade of obsidian. She was either the kind who dyed her hair, or had an off brand hair color like Nikkou did. ”Oh wow! Your hair is really Silky smooth! How in the world do you get it to do that? Is it the Onion Juice Oba-san Hikari is always talking about? I won’t do it because I think it smells! Anyway thanks for the help with those Ninja Police, kin! My names Nikkou! Nice to meet ya!”
