The Effects Of "Personality"

Post by Nafan~ » Tue Jul 19, 2011 2:23 am

Yuube sat on a stool at a small table in the corner of the room. Ofcourse, he was alone. He was always alone. It wasn't because he stank or because he was ugly, it was because he was extremely unlikeable. Any attempt at conversation that wasn't interesting to him was almost immediately shut down or ignored by the boy, because of his antisocial tendencies. Saying that a banana had more social interactions with people than Yuube was not an exaggeration.

Tonight he was doing the same as he did every night. Trying to find a way to fight boredom. He decided he was going to sit in this restaurant and see if he can pick out whether anyone else was as bored as him in the croud. He spotted a woman with red hair looking with an expression of absolute disgust written all over her face as she looked at the man she walked in with, probably her partner, dance ontop of their table. Liquor, Yuube concluded, was the drink of idiocy. He then spotted another shinobi, this one with sandy blonde hair, a different shade to his own but similar none the less. This was as far as the similarity went. While Yuube was lean and small, this shinobi was huge and bulky. He was the buffest person Yuube had ever seen, and he was so tall too. Yuube studied his face for a while, trying to discern his current point of view on the night. He saw nothing but a blank expression, a clean slate. Yuube's mouth twitched upwards in a half-smirk for about a tenth of a second. This one was going to be a challenge. He might actually have to converse with the brute. Yuube almost shuddered at the very thought. He continued to watch, and came up with a hypothesis that his adversary was simply stupid. But, his eyes didn't seem typical of stupid people. When they landed on something, they seemed to linger on it, as if examining the object. Ofcourse, this could still mean he was slow, but it could also mean he was incredibly smart, as his blank expression suggested.

After ten minutes of observation from afar, he decided that it was too difficult a call to make from afar and he was going to actually have to talk to the man. He got up out of his seat and walked over, mentally cursing himself for being so inadequate. How he could have lost to such a hulking delinquent he had no idea. He took up a seat near the other shinobi and decided to start with something simple, something every conversation ought to start with. "Do you enjoy large explosions?" There, that ought to do it.

His meal was already finished. Ishi now sat, fat and happy, quite content with the dinner he'd had. The sound and song of crickets could be heard outside. Life was good, and everything was content. Ishi was sitting back in his booth -- for his massiveness took up an entire booth -- and multiple plates were cleared before him, all cleared. This was one of the only restaurants in all of Iwa which he trusted completely. Ordinarily, Ishi cooked his own food, refusing to accept sustenance from anyone who may be trying to poison him, but he had eaten here since he was a child. The owner of the place knew Ishi, and Ishi knew him, and while the genin wouldn't trust him for half a heartbeat if there was something to be gained by harming him, for now, they were of a good standing with one another.

He'd noticed the other ninja eying him from across the restaurant. It'd made him uncomfortable, but Ishi refused to allow it to show. Showing fear was showing weakness, and weakness would get you killed in Iwagakure. The boy looked small, but then, everything looked small to Ishi. Size seldom mattered. It was quite possible that the boy was just as strong as the next guy, or maybe even as much as the Sakebi clan itself! He doubted it severely, but Ishi would not underestimate a boy just because of his childish appearance.

Just as Ishi was about to get up and ask if there was a problem, the boy stood himself, and began walking towards him. Sakebi, Ishi, decided to remain sitting, silently waiting for it to approach him. he asked a question, and Ishi didn't even look up. Do I... like explosions...? This was some sort of test. He was trying to see just of what kind of stuff this Sakebi was made. Well, Ishi would be happy to show him. he reached a hand into his weaponry pouch, and removed two paper bombs from it, placing them directly onto his chest. "I'll show you." And then, his arms crossed over his chest, and the bombs ignited, a loud pop sounding off as small amounts of energy escaped from between his arms. Ishi opened his arms and revealed that the front of his shirt had been blown away, but his chest and the skin of his arms were unscathed completely.

"Yes. I like explosions." The ball was in his court. Now this stranger knew what sort of power Ishi held. the Sakebi boy DARED him to try anything, knowing that.

~Kanben Yoroi no Chakra-- Simple Armor of Chakra
C-rank Ninjutsu
This technique creates an armor just behind the skin which has no physical form. It doesn't serve as a physical barrier, but rather absorbs the energy in motion -- the kinetic energy -- from outside attacks. This energy is re-directed throughout the armor, used to power it efficiently, and if too much is absorbed for the user to handle, is redirected into the ground where it dissipates harmlessly. The absorbed energy may be used in combination with chakra to perform the various techniques of the Sakebi clan. The maximum amount of energy which can be absorbed is measured as the average of the control and strength technique, as equivalent to paper bombs.

Yuube had been vastly pleased with his attempt at conversation. He didn't talk to people much. He was eagerly awaiting a response, hoping he could build on his analysis of this person. Then, the giant of a man acted very unexpectedly. "I'll show you." He reached into his weapons pouch and placed two exploding tags on his chest. Yuube watched, transfixed in a mixture of horror, surprise, anticipation and glee. The glee was experienced every time he was about to see an explosion, so it wasn't really that strange. The rest is self explanatory.

When the tags exploded, Yuube turned his head to see just who was watching this encounter. After the loud bang, everyone was staring at them. Just great, he was about to be blamed for murder. Suicide was not as high on his things to do list as the genin that he had just been sitting across from. When he turned back, he was mildly shocked to see his target still in tact. Obviously he had guarded himself with some kind of technique before blowing himself up.

So, the conclusion was that this ninja had some serious defensive capabilities. Not that Yuube had ever had any intention of checking for combat abilities, but it never hurt to gather data, no matter how unintended it was that you came across it. "Yes. I like explosions." Thank you, captain obvious. He didn't gather that from your failed suicide attempt.

The Sakebi was going to have his dare graciously declined as Yuube had absolutely no intentions of blowing up the ougonjidai restaurant. Well, not yet anyway. He was a bit curious to see how much explosive power the other boy could take, but he wasn't going to try it. He liked eating here, even though it was almost as boring as eating at home. Almost, not quite. Yuube, never one for small talk, decided to get straight back into his analysis. "So, that's explosions checked off, how about people, how often do you have social interactions?

Well, that was an objective successfully achieved. The boy had no trouble backing down after seeing Ishi's capabilities. Mostly confident that any threat in the boy had been removed, Ishi did not raise an eyebrow when he sat down across from the behemoth. Now that Ishi was someone he didn't want to fight, he was somebody the boy wanted to befriend. Ishi understood perfectly. The Sakebi genin watched the younger one warily, but without expression, stone-faced and sober, if not somber, trying to make heads or tails of him.

Social interaction? in Iwagakure? If Ishi were the sort, he would have left. As it happened, the massive teenager let out a mildly amused grunt and shifted in his seat, picking up a tooth pick and using it to -- what else -- pick his teeth. He mulled the thought over for a long while, and then finally answered, "I'm a Stone ninja." That should just about sum everything up. Iwagakure ninja tended to blow their social partners up when they began to speak. Or themselves, as the case may be. Now that this boy had found too much threat in Ishi, however, the Sakebi genin decided it was alright to socialize some. As long as Ishi was too strong for this boy to feel safe attacking, he was too safe to worry about being attacked. "But sometimes I talk to people." He was silent for a moment, and then added, almost as an afterthought, "I guess."[/b]

Yuube was ticking off these things on a mental checklist. He was trying to work out the mentality of this giant. That was his form of a challenge. If he could discern the way this man-boy thought, he wouldn't be as much of a threat in the future. Yuube looked up at the person he was talking to. So far, he had discerned two important features of his opponent. Combat was his preferred area, and socialising came very far down the list. Yuube was very similar to him in that regard. Now, all he had to do was establish a foundation of trust, and his examination would become a lot easier. But what to say? He could build on their similarities and try and form some trust that way, or he could try and do something impressive. Not that he knew how to build on similarities in a conversation, or what was impressive to the children of today. Yuube was a very seclusive being. This task was proving challenging. Perhaps, a friendly fight in which Yuube didn't actually aim to kill his opponent would boost the morale between them. He wasn't going to be beaten in mind games by a hulking, giant brute.

"So, since we both share a love of combat and distaste in conversation, what do you say that we both head over to the training grounds and exchange pleasantries with something more exciting than words?" Yuube said calmly, as if suggesting that this would be the best option for the night's meal. "It isn't like I want to combat you to kill you or increase my status with other shinobi, I simply think this conversation would be more entertaining if done in battle." He finished. His words were true, he didn't want to achieve anything but a better understanding of this person during the battle. Yuube was only suggesting this in such a blunt manner because he rarely had need to talk to other people, let along invite fellow shinobi to spar. When he needed to talk, he did a lot of it. He had spent a lot of time investigating the mannerisms of people at this restaurant, but he had never fully understood it. He put it down to being far too young to understand something that obviously needed the kind of wisdom that came with age.

He was hoping his aquaintance would accept his challenge, he wanted to study him more. For a big person, he sure was smart.

Ishi stared stone-faced at the boy who challenged him, and nodded once, simply, standing from his booth. He would be fighting on a full stomach, which was rather advantageous, as he sized his opponent up. Ishi doubted he would be going against this enemy using taijutsu, considering the size difference. He knew, though, that backing down from a challenge would reflect poorly on his clan. Ishi could take this man. He had to be able to, for the sake of his family and their reputation.

He claimed that all he wanted to do was get to know Ishi better. he wished he could just believe it. The boy had a fairly kind face. Ishi considered that perhaps he was being honest... but he didn't want to take the risk of trusting him. Not just yet. "Lead the way then." Ishi would allow the boy to get up and lead him to whichever training ground he liked. He would allow this boy to pick their field of battle. It was a show of confidence, stating that they didn't need to be on his field for him to win. When he did win, it would make it all the sweeter or him and his clan.

He would let the boy lead without any sneak attacks or anything of the like. Ishi was a paranoid man, but he was a paranoid man of honor. The two would do battle, and Ishi would take a cheap shot to win on the battlefield if he had to, but there would be no dirty tricks until the fighting actually began.

Yuube watched his opponent carefully as he reacted to Yuube's proposal. He knew his assurances would be ignored, Iwagakure being what it was. He was close now, close to figuring out this giant. Soon he would know all the necessary information for a second encounter with him. Yuube smirked as he left the restaurant, just expecting his company to follow. He would build "trust" and "respect" with this person. He would soon discover two things two things; the first is that he could actually build "trust" and "respect" with another human being and the second is the basic characteristics of this person. He had already established that the strong silent stereotype was this person all over. However, this strong silent type enjoyed combat, something Yuube himself enjoyed. He was worked up now, after seeing the explosion in the restaurant.

He walked to what was, essentially, a barren, rocky area. There weren't many buildings near here, it had been cleared for a training site some time ago. Yuube then turned around to face the bulky boy behind him, his fingers twitching, begging him to start blowing things up. He had to take a deep breath to calm himself before he could talk. "This is it, we will start when you are ready.."

The terrain seemed fairly neutral to mot, but perfect for Ishi. Rock beneath him, minimal obstruction, good visibility... Yeah. Ishi could make do with this. This would suit him quite fine. They were some eight meters apart, and the Sakebi boy waited for the boy to turn before he would attack. He was alerted that the "enemy" was ready whenever Ishi was. Well, Ishi was certainly ready. He nodded, and began what could loosely be called an assault.

He would take his time, walking towards Yuube with a calm sort of ease, not bothering to charge towards him or rush or anything of the like. Ishi would merely stroll forwards, calmly making his way in the direction of the opponent. He'd allow the foe to make his move. Ishi felt arrogantly prepared for whatever the enemy could prepare. His defenses were up, and Ishi was confident that would be enough, barring some foul genjutsu.

Yuube was almost having a fit. He was getting restless, he needed to make an explosion, and soon. Yuube quickly performed a few hand seals and funneled chakra through his throat. He then expelled a bullet-sized ball of chakra toward his opponent, which would explode as soon as it hit him, or after it travelled twenty metres. The three-explosive tag power explosion would light up the field momentarily, while Yuube continued to weave hand seals. He then dashed in towards Ishi and thrust his palm outwards, expelling another three-explosive tag explosion right infront of Yuube, and hopefullly all over Ishi.

Yuube had to struggle to calm down, the explosions were getting him excited. He stood up straight once more and looked through the clearing smoke to inspect his opponent.

Explosive Bullet
C-ranked Ninjutsu
Yuube performs a string of handseals before cahnneling chakra up his throat. He then expells a bullet-sized sphere of visible blue chakra in a single direction at a speed of 4 that will explode with the power of three exploding tags on contact. The sphere can travel up to twenty meters before it expodes automatically.

Jirai-ken (Landmine Fist)
C-ranked Nintaijutsu
The user of this technique must perform a string of hand seals before channeling chakra into one of their hands. The chakra can be held there for the duration of the post. The user must then perform a palm thrust towards their target while releasing the chakra and detonating it. The result is an explosion with the force of three explosive tags being produced from the hand, but not effecting it. The explosion occurs right infront of the user, meaning it has a close range of 0-5m.

The first blast hit him like, well, a big freaking blast, directly in his chest. Ishi took merely stopped when it hit him, the impressive force absorbed by his armor and directed around. When the smoke cleared, and Ishi had finished grimacing at the nasty bruise that was forming over his chest and beneath what had been his shirt. The enemy came in again, and this time, fired a more close range blast that struck Ishi square in the chest once more. Again, ishi took the hit, this time groaning aloud for the bruise that formed just beneath his skin as he gasped and stared his opponent down. The opponent had gotten close, and Ishi would punish that.

Despite the pain in his chest from the still-growing bruise, Ishi was still able to fight. The enemy was standing as well. Ishi decided that he could use this. With a quick lunge, he threw himself forward at the opponent, in an attempt to grab him.

(For the record, you need to hit with the force of more than what he can handle all at once. It's not like the shield has hit points, but more like it's constantly being kept up and maintained by the Sakebi member. The only way to break through is to hit them with it all at once.)

Yuube quickly bounced back after hitting Ishi with his Landmine fist, trying for a hit and run strategy. However, Ishi had launched himself straight at Yuube to try and grab him. Yuube cursed himself for being so slow as he excitedly watched his opponent approach. Ishi's hands were stretched out, clasping for a hold on Yuube. He knew he would be caught, but he wasn't going to give up. He reached into his pouch and took a hold of a container of oil and a kunai knife.
His opponent's arms grabbed onto Yuube's shoulders.

That is when his counter attack began. He plunged both hands forward, left hand with the kunai knife driving straight for the bruised area, and the right flicking the lid off the oil to splash the three hundred milliliters onto Ishi. Should the giant of a boy let go, Yuube would take the first opportunity to dash away, if not than he was probably going to be in for some serious pain.
