[Mission] Creative Energy!

Post by KiKage » Fri Aug 28, 2009 9:00 pm

A scroll was delivered to the home of Yuurei Hayate. In it was a description of his mission, and the address at which he needed to be. At that address was a large apartment building, and on the second floor of the apartment building was room 12, in which the artist (impatiently) awaits Hayate's arrival. The apartment is cluttered, with crumpled up papers, splashes of ink, broken easles, frayed paintbrushes, and cracked pottery serving as a lovely carpet. The man has shockingly bright red hair that seems like a badger was just chewing on it, deep-set blue eyes, and very pale, clammy-looking skin... Yuurei Hayate had better hurry up...

Hayate hurriedly ran up the stairs of the artist's apartment building. He was two minutes away from being late, and he never, never, never was late for an independent mission.
He ducked past a young lady carrying a stack of plated through the hallway; normally, he would've played the 'charming young man', and helped her out, but not today.
No woman was going to fuck with his missions...not now, anyway.
'Damn Lacus, that stupid whore. With her 'love the world' sack of bullshit.'
He skidded to a stop in front of the artist's apartment; a relatively simple '12' was stamped on the door.
Hayate fixed his clothes and hair, and checked his watch; one minute and fifteen...fourteen...thirteen seconds to spare.
Yuurei Hayate knocked politely on the door, waiting to enter at the artist's request.

From Hayate's side of the door, some scrambling around and the sound of papers flying could be heard. Kosaboru Uchida came clambering to the door, swung it open, then went back to his painting... He hadn't even given so much as a "hello" or a "please, come in." As Uchida continued throwing ink at his canvas, some of the black fluid splashed onto his face, enhancing his air of instability. Up to this point, no acknowledgment of Hayate had been made; Uchida simply ignored anything he said or did for 20 minutes. The apartment was silent aside from the occasional rustling sheet of paper and wet sound of ink.

"Are you going to make yourself useful or not?!?! Clean or something!"

Hayate didn't bother idling in the doorway, despite Kosaboru-san's...lack of acknowledgement. It annoyed him, but only slightly, and he stepped gingerly around the sticky, paint...or was it ink?...splattered canvases littering the floor. He eyed the man, this artist, Kosaboru Uchida. He looked like he was far from his right mind, his bright, shifty eyes...that wild red hair...oh, the ink splattered on his face just-

Hayate merely bent to pick up the odd blank canvas, here and there, stacking a few against the wall.
He
"I'm sorry, Kosaboru-san; is there anything in particular I should keep in mind while I clean? I am not an artist, and some of your works are rather abstract; I wouldn't want to touch anything I shouldn't."
He tried his best to pick up things around the studio, in the meanwhile; he did not want to appear indolent. However, he chose his trash carefully, reaching for obviously discarded things; food wrappers, used ink bottles, dirty rags that smelled strongly. Of what? Hayate did not know...

The only response Hayate got in return from his question was a strange grumble, which seemed to include the words "it all sucks", and a waving hand, apparently meaning "Don't worry about it; just clean it all up." Uchida wanted Hayate to just throw away everything, basically, aside from supplies that seemed to be usable, and what was currently being worked on. It was certainly a strange atmosphere, though, in the studio. But, that only seems fitting, as Kosaboru uchida was certainly a strange man.

Hayate merely nodded, and set to work, hurriedly piling up the rest of the obvious trash; he was a surprisingly fast worker, despite the attitude. He grabbed a flat, empty trashbag from beside a small rubbish bin, and shoveled the pile into it, propping the stuffed bag near the door; he wasn't quite finished cleaning, he knew, and the trash would all be going out to the dumpster when he was done. After all, leaving it would only constitute clutter, and that made no sense at all; to leave clutter in a clean apartment was not cleaning it at all.
He picked up a few more ink bottles, lining them neatly at the back of a large drawing desk in a corner of the room. Any paint or ink brushes on the floor went first to the sink to be thoroughly, then dried, before being placed in a large cup beside the row of ink bottles. Eyeing a small stack of tracing paper, he piled various drawings on the desk, being careful to place the tracing paper between each sheet.
There was something in the way he worked that betrayed a certain respect for this artist and his work; though Uchida seemed ready to toss his work at any given moment, Hayate was not quick to throw away anything that looked as if it had time put into it.
Turning back to the floor, he inspected it carefully; it was a stained, sticky mess, and he knew he wouldn't be doing his job properly if he didn't ask.

"Kosaboru-san, am I to scrub the floor as well? It might disturb your work a bit."

"Yea, yea. And get some food if you want. But do the dishes," Uchida mumbled as he took a step back to size up his painting. He grunted something along the lines of "good, good," and then turned around to get different colors of ink. Once he saw his apartment, he nodded up and down in approval, gliding across the clear floor to get a few colors of ink--which were now neatly arranged on his desk's shelf. He seemed to be muttering words as he did so, and they had a positive tone to them!

The mop, sponge, scrubber, soap, sink, and bucket were all in a corner closet of the kitchen, but that was hardly the focal point of the room; dishes and bowls and cups not only filled the sink past its capacity, but they also dotted the countertop, table, and floor...
