Scene SettingShow

The clouds parted momentarily to allow the dawning sun to tinge the village a brilliant orange. The snow slowly melted in the morning light, the small dusting from the night before soon to evaporate. Kumogakure was peaceful at this time of morning, all citizens sleeping soundly in their bed. The watchmen preparing to change shifts with the dawn. At the base of the mountains, roosters heralded the morning with their regular call. Nobody would ever have guessed the horror they would experience today.

At the shore of the lake in the ravine between the two mountains which housed the shinobi village, a man sat fishing. The bamboo float bobbed suddenly below the water, and he shouted with glee as he pulled up as hard as he could on his rod. Only to find that he couldn't stand. The rod in his hands suddenly became unbelievably heavy. With labored breath he glanced down at his hands, only to find a large metal blade obscuring his vision. It was soon kindly removed by the figure behind him, allowing him his last sight of his entrails spilling onto the ground before the rest of him followed.

With a rasping breath, the figure consumed the rising soul of his victim. "Such arrogance.." it remarked with its rumbling voice, amused. The citizens of Kumogakure would soon awaken to a nightmare.

Awakening from his gentle slumber, Hayate sat up, light shinning through his curtains and into the room, albeit dim light. Making effort to rub the night from his eyes he stepped out onto his balcony and looked to the sky. It was such a beautiful site- the sky. For a moment, he was almost lost in it's grandure, the desire to enter the heavens enticing him until his alarm went off. It was a reminder that his soul was shackled here, on this earth.

The interesting thing was being shackled to earth was not some death sentence, or some sort of curse. He wasn't shackled to earth as a punishment, but because he had a purpose. His eyes closed as he took in a deep breath, his fist clenching in the air in front of his chest.

Every person he met. Every person he loved and even lost. To leave now without bettering the world in which he lived... would be a slap in the face to them.

His hand opened back up, his eyes opening as he turned around and walked back into his room. Despite Kushina's death, despite any of the challenges he had faced in life, things had settled in, and he had to admit it was strange, but a feeling that empowered him to get past his troubles.

Life was mundane- and part of him was afraid of this new life, the life of waking up every morning and cooking breakfast for his daughter. A life in which he was deeply... considering retiring from being a shinobi. He justified his desire as something Kushina would have wanted for him, but was his acceptance of this mundane really just fear that he truly could not make a difference?

Was he running from the truth?

Deciding to put such thoughts away, he quickly strapped on his boots and finished dressing. If he was going to cook brunch today he would need to acquire some eggs, and though it was quite early on a Sunday morning, one of the 24 hour convenience stores would hopefully be open.

Closing his door, he took to the streets.

[Kage Test] Divine Judgement

Post by Nafan~ » Sat Jun 07, 2014 7:23 pm

The awakened birds flitted between the trees and down the mountain. They circled slowly over the lake, diving gracefully into brief contact with the water to drink and bathe. Their joyous chirping stirred the inhabitants of the village, giving a peaceful accompaniment to the casual murder taking place. The figure stepped across the water, corpse slung over its shrouded shoulder. With each step the sapphire lake was dyed an enchanting ruby, as the precious liquid of life drained from the deceased. As if in finality, the figure dropped the body into the center of the lake, standing over it as it sunk in a crimson shroud of its own.

As the old man's corpse sank, the figure's arms rose. They slowly reached their apex above his head, spear poised to lance the heavens themselves. The tranquil lake rippled as air escaped now lifeless lungs in blossoming rose-coloured bubbles. "It is time that this place be reborn as it was. As it should be." Came the ominous words of the strange being.

With a piercing shriek, the peace and tranquility of the dawn was quickly shattered. Darkness fled from beneath the figure's cloak and cowl, penetrating through walls, windows and mountains. As if granted their own personal night, the twin mountains which housed Kumogakure were encompassed in an all-consuming dark. Voices wailed and screamed into the air, but none of them were strictly human. Fear and despair was everywhere. The orange of the dawn had been completely erased, the chirping birds were quickly killed by panic and the calm comfort of sleep was now impossible. Despite how they ran, the small monkeys, squirrels and other animals could not escape the sphere of nightmarish darkness. Kumogakure had been separated from the world.

Suddenly, there was light. From atop the Raikage's office on one of the peaks of the mountains radiated a harsh electric light as the shadow of lightning sparked his aura with electricity. The four black ops guards assigned to him surrounded him, awaiting attack from any direction. With a new source of light, hope and confidence was kindled in the people of Kumogakure. Stepping from the shadow of one of the many boulders above the Raikage, the figure quickly descended upon the five. His feet lightly touched down on the white tiles of the building's ceiling. Immediately one of the five guards launched himself toward the figure. A kunai rose to pierce through its cowl, but both knife and arm were bisected cleanly by the defending spear. After a shout of pain, the figure clicked its tongue in annoyance. "Be silent, dirt." it commanded as it shot a bolt of lightning through the guard's throat. It was dead in moments, its soul feeding the strange invader. "It seems you are the strongest here, man of lightning. How pitiful." He stated as he continued forward. Suddenly, Akino, the Raikage, gifted his aura of lightning to his three remaining guardsmen. They all dashed forwards, significantly faster than the one before.

A kick towards the figure's head was dodged by millimeters, and a sword thrust from another directed was deflected by the spinning of his spear. The being shifted its weight onto one leg and struck out with the but of the spear, winding the third incoming attacker. The crack of the guard's ribs could be heard even over the disconcerting shrieks of the darkness as they shattered. The weightless leg of the figure lifted and kicked away the incoming sword slash by redirecting the arm. The foot was planted confidently between the guard's, and with another shift of his weight the figure thrust his hand out, piercing through the armored chest of the shinobi. The lightning aura that surrounded them was not enough to protect them, although it began to run up the figure's arm, paralyzing it and leaving electrical burns. With a soft growl he threw the limp body into the final guard remaining. At the point of contact, it exploded.

The figure turned slowly to regard the Raikage. "You've wasted enough of my time." It said angrily as it strode toward the glowing figure. Two swords pierced through the figure's thighs, pinning him to the ground as two of the guards stood either side of him. The sword wielder from earlier and the man whose ribs should have been shattered leaned on their blades to keep the invader still. After a moment of incomprehension, the being soon realized that the aura surrounding them had changed. It was no longer a shining gold, crackling with electricity, but a soothing green. The Raikage had been healing them. "Perhaps he's not as weak as I thought" the being thought, before exuding a pulse of its own electricity. A dark lightning which radiated outwards suddenly, hurling both guards off the building, leaving them to tumble down the mountainside. In that moment, the Raikage's palm was facing the figure. The being quickly pulled the swords from his legs, but it was too late.

"Roar of a Thousand Tigers!" Akino shouted into the artificial night. His lightning aura coalesced in his palm and shot forwards in a concentrated beam. The sheer force and heat of it radiated throughout the village, evaporating any remaining ice and snow. The figure shouted in pain as the blast encompassed it, and burst through the mountain behind him in a brilliant line of golden light. All of the Raikage's chakra was put into that one strike, which carved a five meter diameter cave through the mountain. Lightly panting, Akino raised his arms. Four threads of his aura pulled the slowly regenerating bodies of the four guards back up onto roof of the Kage building. "I'm sorry Raikage-sama. We failed you." A female guard said sadly. "Don't fret my girl, it's over now. That opponent was beyond you, and nobody expects you to be infallible. No matter how strong you are there is always someone stronger." he said sagely, placing a warming hand upon the woman's shoulder. Her tears fell through the remains of her mask, as the top right hand corner had shattered away as she fell down the mountain. All four were still alive however, a testament to the sheer strength of the Raikage that protected the village. An inspiration to all Kumogakure shinobi.

The woman looked up as the Raikage's hand fell away from her shoulder. It slapped the ground beside her as her eyes widened and a very human scream escaped her throat, mingling with the wailing voices of the dark. That sound was so piercing and so pure with grief that it resonated throughout the entire village. The lifeless slab of meat which was the Raikage's arm rolled slightly away from the woman's blood soaked face in the moment before the building exploded, killing the four guards instantly.

Hurtling towards Hayate was the Golden Star of Kumogakure, the Raikage Akino. He slammed into the roof tiles before the Jounin's very eyes, glowing with his still charged aura. There was a very big obstruction in the light provided by the Kage, however, revealing a man shrouded in black, standing upon the Raikage's chest. He looked up, staring into Hayate's eyes as he thrust the blade of his spear through Akino's exhausted chest, ending the man's life. "Hello again, peasant. It has been quite some time since we fought." He said, before the golden light was extinguished. In that moment, the eyes of every citizen of Kumogakure filled with tears. Their shouts and cries of anguish overcame the terrifying sound of the night, drowning it completely with their sorrow. Akino's blood flowed down the roof and dripped through the ravine to land as well in the lake below. The Golden Star of Kumogakure had been extinguished, and all was dark for the village's future.

"10 Ryo."

The man behind the counter of the convenience store said, his hand patiently outstretched. Without any issues, Hayate quickly procured 10 ryo from his pocket and handed it over to the man. Pleased with his compliance, the man handed him his carton of eggs.

"Thank yo-" before Hayate could even finish his word and bow, a piercing shriek suddenly filled the air. The whole building shook, and it the shriek emanated down into every part of Hayate's body, his eyes quickly darting about as his ears perked up. Just what was going on? He turned to the sliding doors to exact the shop, stopping before the glass as his eyes grew wide.

Darkness. Complete Darkness- a torrent of it flowing all around the mountains as Kumogakure was suddenly embraced in a dark and unconquerable shadow. Screams rang out everywhere, screams he couldn't even peg as human as fear and despair filled the air. It was like a scene from a horror movie, or a nightmare, except Hayate knew he was awake and that this was very real.

Quickly he swung open the door, his feet carrying him into the street as his eyes looked into the darkening sky. The light was fleeting, until, suddenly through the darkness a great light appeared. The whole mountain range was lighten up with the bright light of hope- a hope that Hayate could feel warm his very body from the cold darkness that had just gripped him. This light had come forth from atop the Raikage's office, and was clearly the act of Akino, the guiding star of Kumogakure. He was a man far beyond Hayate's own prowess, and a man Hayate had deeply admired.

"Roar of a Thousand Tigers" the man's stern voice said, it echoing throughout the villages as suddenly a bright flash of light cut through the darkness once more. The sheer force and heat was astounding, the snow in the village melting and the beam flying through the sky and punching wholes straight through the mountain. At the tip of the blast, Hayate's eyes spotted some hooded figure. Just what was this? What was going on?

He began to run through the street towards the Raikage building, his pace rapidly building when suddenly a shrill shriek filled the air again, and suddenly, an explosion happened, the entire Raikage building flying to bits and pieces. Hayate's eyes widened in despair as, his hand flying in the air and stretching out in horror towards the building. Continuing to run up the winding path and towards the bridge to the Raikage's office, a shimmer flew by the corner of Hayate's eye's. Turning on his heel to a halt, the Golden Star of Kumogakure slammed into the roof tiles of the nearby building, his body smashing into it, his golden aura still glowing and emitting an immense light into the entire village. Something was on top of his chest, however.

A man shrouded in black, his figure odd and a spear in his hand. Before Hayate could react, the hooded man thrust the spear in his hand through Akino's chest, the light that he gave off suddenly disappearing. In that moment, his eyes opened wide in horror, his jaw dropping, speechless without words. The cries of everyone in the village watching had been enough words.

What?

Hayate was smitten with overwhelming confusion, yet he had no time to waste. Whoever the man was, he had focused his attention to Hayate, and Hayate would have to use this chance to get the man away from the village.

I know Syaoran is out on a mission, but what of the other bannin? I'm sure mass amounts of black ops and guards will be here soon, but I need to buy ti- no I need to get him away from here.

Hayate turned, and leaped off the side of the platform. His feet buzzed blue with chakra as he began to run down the mountain side, his hands sealing all the while. He quickly sealed then pulled five eggs from the carton, placing the carton in the bag and tying it securely to his waist as he ran, in a manner that would keep them safe.

He didn't generally walk around on Sunday mornings in full gear, so he'd have to improvise to stretch out the gear he had.

Raijin, self proclaimed god of lightning, took a step from atop the body of the Raikage. Blood spattered the ground as his injured legs emptied blood onto the ground, causing him to fall to his knees with a grunt as Hayate jumped from the roof. He struggled to his feet, legs shaking as he stared towards the ledge of the roof. He continued to walk, the flesh of the former head of the black operations corp falling to the ground with each step, burnt and charred by the Raikage's blast. A dragging trail of blood was left behind him as he shuffled slowly towards the edge of the building, bones protruding from his body. He was truly in a sorry state. The frustration within him built astronomically, and it was reflected in the redoubled cries of the damned souls he'd produced in the darkness that enveloped the village. He let out his own roar, a great howl to the heavens, producing an ominous light in his jaw as he faced skyward. Then, he bent forward and spewed storm through the building at Hayate, aiming to eliminate him from his current position. It blasted through the walls, immediately vaporizing Hayate, ending all hope for the village...

Or would have, if Akino were not still alive. He appeared before the rogue spirit, gripping its face with furious force with his remaining hand. The storm gathered in his throat backed up, the chakra causing the already fragile body to bloat and distort, before exploding with incredible force. Akino was thrown from the building, falling toward the lake below with a cloak of green chakra trying desperately to heal his complex wounds now that both of his arms were destroyed. The building was easily vaporized by the storm explosion, and Hayate's fate was unknown as the blast was comparable to 13 explosive tags, a force much beyond all but the most powerful shinobi could utilize. Akino fell in complete harmony, his chakra numbing the pain while it tried to heal his injuries. He smiled happily as the water below rushed toward him.

[Kage Test] Divine Judgement

His feet carried him swiftly down the mountain side, all his might hoping that he could bring whatever the thing attacking his village was away from the people. He could not let them die. He could not let Akino's sacrifice go in vain. As he ran, he heard a huge noise, his head peaking back. He couldn't visually see anything, but the humming sound did not sound good, and with all his might he launched himself off the peak he was on and towards the other peak, bridge, and buildings.

Doing so had been good, for right as he lept a massive explosion shook his surroundings, a large amount of heat sizzling everything, and yet, as he did so, he was completely unaware that the explosion had originally been meant for him, and had Akino not interrupted whatever the thing was, it would have hit him and killed him.

As he turned his head back, he saw Akino's corpse, maybe not quite dead, hurtling towards the water. His stomach filled with rage, with sadness, with despair. He'd done nothing to stop the thing from killing Akino. He was truly weak. And yet, as Akino fell, he could swear he saw a smile on the mans face. A smile of content, happiness, and joy.

How could a man die with happiness? Because he was willing.

Hayate wouldn't let him go just yet. He reached out for the man, hopefully grabbing him under his arm and continuing his descent to the other peak. Perhaps Akino was not a goner yet.

"Whatever you are- you are far stronger than me. But you are weak! You are weak because you do not possess what we have!" he screamed into the open air, images of Kushina, Etsuko, Eiko, Soru, all the scouts he had mentored, the shop keepers, everyone in the village flowing through his head.

He did a short string of hand seals, him using a D-Rank technique and all, and recorded his voice.

Next he readied a hand seal, his eyes not quite saying where this thing was yet, and ironically, his mind not fully recognizing what it was. He felt it deja vu, but could not put a name on what it was.

He'd have to keep moving. He finished his seals, two clones taking his opposite sides. The fuuton one followed him, while the Suiton one didn't. Instead it went towards the newly emerged god of lightning. As for Hayate, Akino had blown a hole through the mountain side, and he aimed to go through that hole. Once he hit it, his fuuton clone would double back and guard the entrance, least hold him off.

The Suiton clone on his path would seal, releasing a powerful torrent at wherever the previously hooded man was.

Meanwhile, in the hole the panting Hayate would set down Akino for a moment, his hands weaving to summon Gamarusai quickly, and both slap explosive tags everywhere he could as they ran through it. He was lucky he had his utility belt. There'd be 15 in total, and the two would stand at the edge of the other end.

He'd then throw the little ball from earlier to the cave entrance near his fuuton clone, it realistically shouting his voice, too perfectly to tell the difference.

"Do what you will monster, but know that I'm never truly alone, and that everyone in this village's strength flows through my veins."

Akino turned his head slightly to look at Hayate. "I'm afraid you've wasted your time."he said weakly. "I'm already finished. I don't have enough chakra to heal wounds this severe." He got out, in between coughs. "I'll use the last of my chakra to give you a little help.. protect the village.. the village." with a final breath Akino transferred his aura onto Hayate, giving him a golden cloak of lightning. The former Raikage was dead, his eyes soulless.

Nine circles of blue chakra appeared around the lake, with a tenth in the center. With a sound like a thousand claps of thunder, the nine surrounding circles fired lightning into the air. The lightning ran around the dome of darkness, lighting the village. The electricity pierces through the film of chakra and pulls the dark shroud into the lake, slowly absorbing it below the watery surface. Upon the completion of this process, the tenth circle expanded to light the lake a startling azure. From within the center of the lake, a figure slowly rose.

With skin as blue as the ocean and hair whiter than snow, Raijin showed his true form. Four muscular arms flexed as he rose, two holding small metal clubs, designed to beat the drums which followed him from beneath the lake's surface. In the shower of almost holy light, the spirit alighted softly upon the water's surface. "To think I would have to resort to manifesting myself." he complained, irritated at the lengths he had been forced to take. As the spirit glanced up, he saw the golden light emerging from the mouth of the newly created cave, creating a brilliant backdrop for the false Hayate that stood there. He considered approaching, but couldn't quite finish the thought before two jets of water were sent flying toward him from the other mountainside. With his palm raised, a bolt of lightning struck down one jet, while the other struck him. The pressurized water burst on him, leaving him with a scratch. "Such insolence." Raijin grumbled, before dashing forth.

He closed the distance with much more than double the Suiton clone's speed, bashing it in the face with one of the fists holding a club. The water that comprised it splattered over the mountainside, creating a pitiful watermark not even worthy of being called a puddle. Then he kicked off the mountain and traveled the distance toward the cave mouth, before alighting upon one of the nine drums that surrounded him, floating in the air some 5 meters away. "Surrender now and I will give you a quick death."

As Akino died, a bright yellow aura embraced Hayate, his body surrounded in the magnificent light that had once embraced Akino. He could have held on. He could have kept clinging to life until help arrived. Yet he had chosen of free will to give his life to Hayate, to give him his aura. To give a shitty, weak, normal jounin his powers. To give a mundane man a chance to fight the threat that had slain him.

"Why damnit." Hayate said, his fist scrunching up as he held back his tears.

Why die for me. His hand flew down to his side, both of them, his head bowed. He didn't understand, but he sure as hell would not let Akino's sacrifice go in vain. No. Never not once.

Still at the back entrance to the cave with Gamarusai, the toad picked the kage up, his corpse swung over his shoulder, and his hands ready to act at a moments notice.

I don't have multi-kai, or a way to kai these tags.

Things were not looking good. The clone performed his hand seals, a gust of wind forming around his body as the blue being, destroyed the suiton clone. The clone would continue to seal, as whatever it was, it had suddenly came up to their their level, delivering an ultimatum.

And that's when Hayate remembered what it was, as it peered at it from within the cave, his body glowing. It was the darkness. It was the thing 8 years ago that had nearly killed him. His side burned in pain just thinking of it, just remembering the hit he had taken. As soon as the clone calmly finished moving, it would throw a blade of wind at the blue figure, and attempt to repeat his technique again, should he have the time. All the while, he insulted things pride and called out.

"You couldn't even beat me with your own fist. You weak piece of shit. Let me remind you of eight years ago..."

Hayate on the other hand would quickly seal, his hands rapidly weaving the seals he'd done so many times as orbs of air popped up around his arms.

Raijin grunted with disgust as the trio that faced him set up a wall of wind. He'd always hated wind, especially since it was his brother Fuujin's favourite. This wall, however, was pitiful in comparison. He floated back on his drum, moving out of its range. Electric blue chakra surged down one of his four arms into the club he held, which quickly expanded to 2 meters in length. He lifted the now staff-like club back like a javelin, coating it in a thick layer of Raiton chakra. The chakra surrounded the staff and took the form of a spear. The two blades of wind hurtling toward the spirit were intercepted by two of his drums, causing them to be thrown far back beyond him. While using one hand to call back the two drums from their great distance, Raijin used another to throw his now two meter long lightning spear. The lightning pierced the Fuuton defense, but lost a lot of its power as it traveled through the swirling wind current.

Still, even though the lightning coating had left it, the staff struck the clone with it's blunt end and proceeded through it's chest regardless, ending its life. "Why must you make this difficult on yourself, human? If you will not surrender I shall simply smite you down like I did your superiors. Better men than you have already died by my hand." the self-titled god boasted. He drew another club from his belt with the hand that had thrown the staff, and it also elongated to the same two meter length. "You could not defeat me then and you cannot defeat me now." Raijin finished, as the wind storm died down after the clone's disintegration.

^ this was worn off by the fuuton defense, allowing the staff itself to hit with full strength.

THEMEShow
He continued to seal, creating another clone, and then again and again finally stopping as a multitude of orbs made of air floated around his body.

Damnit.

He was at his ropes, his limits, and while this man destroyed his village he could do nothing but watch. Watch in hope that some one stronger than himself would come and save the day. That someone would end this, and yet, he knew that was a lie. There was no one that would come. No one that would bring back Akino. He had been a normal, mundane failure his entire life, and yet, as he stood here, at the climax of his life, and taking what breathes would likely be his last... he didn't want it to end.

His clones out there were now gone, completely obliterated beyond the might of this god. He was pinned down, and trapped in this whole, the open space too dangerous to fight in, but his position here just as dangerous. "...Better men than you have already died by my hand."..."You could not defeat me then and you cannot defeat me now."

It was true. He had been so much talk, so much action, and yet here he stood, having not done anything. His mind wandered, it wandered to everything, 8 years ago. He remember his fight, the lightning, everything, the way his body layed in it's own puddle of blood as Etsuko saved him- and yet he couldn't even save her himself. He was pitiful.

He had ran for far too long, ran as a boy in a man's body, ran scared of his father, of a village who would never trust the son of one of the most infamous men. He had ran from his responsibilities, from believing in his own self. And this would end here.
THEMEShow
But he could not let his wrongs ground him to this earth, for he was meant to ascend to the heavens. He could not let everyone he had met down- their faces all flashing through his mind once more as he walked over to Akino's body. His hand stretched out, reaching for his hat, as his clone took out the back exit and began to make it's way around.

Just for now, until the end. I'll wear it. It'll give me his strength, his courage. The strength and courage of every man who wore it before him.

The hat on his head, and a deep breath, Hayate decided to stop running from his fears. His hands sealed, but held their spot, ready to launch a gust of wind as soon as he needed it.

A smirk upon his face, he called out to the self-proclaimed god.

"It's funny, that you sit out there throwing stuff at me to kill me." he paused.

"You're supposed to be a god, yet you don't have the respect to face your enemy and look in his eyes before killing him, let alone, you don't have the guts to face me." He chuckled.

"I'm fucking afraid, alright, I'll admit it. But what kind of god are you- when you don't even believe in yourself enough to fight me fair and square. Do I truly scare you that much, are you truly that inconfident in your abilities?"

If he was going to die, he at least wanted to do it slinging insults as a measely mortal to a god, and at least die on his feet as the god thrust it's own arm through him.

[Kage Test] Divine Judgement

Post by Nafan~ » Sun Jun 08, 2014 5:46 pm

Raijin listened intently to Hayate as he spoke. Then, like the sound of rolling thunder, the spirit laughed. He laughed so hard and so loud that a few rocks tumbled down the mountainside. He was so amused by Hayate's insults that he didn't even notice the ball of air that the man had thrown at him. The fuuton ball collided with his chest and pushed him back a small way, but he remained standing on his floating drum. "You're so funny, human. To think I would bother to fight squarely with trash is hilarious." He said, chin on his chest. His head lifted to glare at Hayate "I think you may have actually earned a fight with me."

Raijin kicked off the drum, closing the distance between them in an instant. Two of his drums surged forward and bashed into the fuuton orbs surrounding Hayate, expelling them instantly. The spirit then thrust one of his four arms into Hayate's stomach, with the added weight of his drum beating metal club. With that thrust, another arm went over Hayate's shoulder to stop him from retreating backwards. He leaned in at the same time as his fist and whispered "Provoking a God is not a wise decision, mortal."

OOC NoteShow
The technique doesn't launch wind balls, just makes em.
And there it was. The god moved, his body moving with him. You see. Hayate could not possibly beat him in combat like this. Sure, he could move and maybe get some seals off, but there was no way he could handle a god in brute strength, and yet, the god had seemingly rushed right towards him.

You see, this god had taken so long to get to the punch, and so long to do what he needed.

Gamarusai leaped out the opening towards the last minute, his hands sealing.

And what separated Hayate from a god, was his ability to admit that he was weak. His ability to know fear, and to know that he was out of options. He also had another ability, a man had once taught him in the academy. One, respect your opponent, and know when you were outmatched. And two, that planning went a damn far way into beating an opponent far stronger than you. No one, even a god could have seen this coming, because the god couldn't see through walls and see non-living objects. Nope.

And with the element of surprise, as the man approached- Hayate's fuuton clone leaped from the roof, his body barreling into the cavern as wind whirled around it. At the same time the attack came at his back, Hayate knew that he didn't have time for much more than D-Rank technique.

And as the man was inches from him, he completed it, him switching places with Akino's body. It was disgraceful, but the final sacrifice Akino would make for his village.

And in that moment, Hayate continued to seal. Gamarusai's own technique would instantly release before the man had time, lighting up the cave, igniting every tag and fueled by the wind blast of the clone going through it. Hayate's seals would then finish, and all fifteen of his balls would fly into the cave, exploding into massive gusts of wind too.

The entire cave would be rocked by 35 tags worth of explosives, wind, cutting wind, burning fire, and it would all do this with the man inside it. It would likely also bring the mountain down on him and the tornado clone, making this a situation in which he could simply not escape- and his body being made of lightning and weak to dispersal would help all the more.

The toad would grab Hayate, as the two flung away from the cliff, debree hitting them but for the most part Akino's aura protecting them.

It wasn't necessarily over yet though, and the two prepared their next hand seals, each ready to throw a technique and combining them. For cripes sake, hopefully if it wasn't people in the village would stop watching and show up.

The object used in this jutsu may not be objects that are imbued with chakra or controlled by it, and they may also only be single, solid objects within a 20 yard radius of the user. This technique may only be used a total of one time in a single thread, give or take how many times Shunshin no Jutsu has already been used.

As soon a Raijin's fist connected with the lifeless body of Akino, he knew he was caught in a trap. His spare two hands began working seals immediately, simultaneous to Hayate's seals. His nine drums circled around before him as he funnelled Jikiton chakra into Akino's corpse. Raijin then jumped backwards, placing his drums between himself and Hayate as flames spewed from the mouth of the toad. Placing his hands upon his drums, he allowed them to carry him, being thrown successively as each explosive tag erupted one after the other, speeding them along. The heat was tremendous, and singed Raijin's beard and feet as he stood horizontally, being thrown from the cave mouth.

Hayate, as the toad grabbed him, realised something was wrong. Despite Gamarusai's impressive strength, he could not jump out of the cave. As his feet hit the ground, Hayate's chest was thrust forward, pulling the pair back toward the cave rather than away. The thirty shuriken in Hayate's utility belt were attracted by the magnetic pull that Raijin had placed on Akino's corpse, and as the spirit was thrown from the mountain in fire and flames, Hayate was pulled back toward the inferno.

Raijin, on the other hand, was thrust violently into the mountain opposite, causing a crash as rock and rubble were thrown everywhere. He had managed to spin himself around so that the drums hit first, but there was still an impressive impact in store for his own body. The spirit lounged in the indent, burnt legs sizzling and the hair surrounding his bloody face was blackened. He looked back across the gap as the cave which was massively distorted and expanded. He wondered silently what he would see when the smoke cleared.

And almost as soon as he could feel himself being pulled, his eyes tightened. He had fought this so called god before, and he had remembered that raiton jutsu was useless on it. He had also remembered it possessed something so incredibly scary, that he had taken an extreme chance and almost killed himself to end it before it was fully powered up. Oh, he remembered to well.

Gamarusai's hands sealed as he gripped onto Hayate's left arm and leg now, a jet of flames releasing from his mouth above Hayate's head and attempting to push them back and slow things even just a bit.

This thing had Jikiton, and it was clear he was being pulled back into the cave. He didn't have time to spare, and wasting none as his friend had done his seals, he took his right hand and quickly dragged it in a slash down his body, carefully of course, the golden aura around him cutting clear through the leather bandoiler and even his jacket.

It being Akino's lightning aura and all, it cut clear through both objects, both of them flying off of him and into the explosion. The raiton easily pierced through the simple materials. He was free, however was still slightly in range of the blast, Gamarusai kicking at his body and kicking off of him, sending him hurling away in order to help get him as far away from the blast as he could.

The two were quite the duo, and shortly after his kick, Hayate released him, a poof of smoke happening in his wake. Meanwhile Hayate sealed.

While not dead, would get hit by some residual debris as he fell and fire as he fell. Luckily Akino's aura also was a protective layer from the elements, and it would help him a bit more. Still, his hands released a wide barrier aiming to lesten the impact or reflect whatever he could as he fell.

Eventually when his descent came to a close, he would begin to furiously seal, creating piles of air cushions, just to pad his fall.

A naked man with nothing but boots and a Kage hat, fallin out the sky.

Raijin lounged in the rubble for a bit, looking out over the space he had just been thrown. He stood on his burned legs, grinding his teeth through the pain. "Annoying human." He complained, staring out toward the mountain.

On the other side of that mountain, Hayate struggled with his fall. His chakra cloak had dissipated after he cut off his bandolier, since he had turned the weapon upon itself. With it's exhaustion, he was totally exposed to chunks of falling rock. A few smashed into the wind barrier, but they simply held the rock in place until too much weight was placed atop it, causing them to continue to fall toward Hayate. Hayate lowered himself gently to the ground, but in doing so he left the range of the barrier as well, dissipating it. The rocks fell once more from above, gaining terrifying speed. They would be upon him in but a moment.

Had he known turning the aura on himself would consume it, he would not have. After all, he had a D-rankish technique based on channeling that would have done the same job, but regardless, he had just completely wasted the defense Akino gave him.

Yet another slap in the face to the old man.

His wind defense ground down the rocks and halted their instant momentum, though not for long. Without much time, he had begun sealing. The rocks would be coming again, and one more time. Least, what hadn't already bounced out his way. As he finished his seals his hair rapidly sprung to life, shielding him. The rocks would patter down on him, and he would certainly get some bruises.

From within his shell he would count, hoping to time things right, and would begin sealing furiously and creating wind cushions under neath him as he fell. Each one he made under him would break his speed, and eventually, he'd allow himself to hit the ground and a minimal impact. Of course still being in the shell would help too.

Eventually, he'd hit the ground though, his shell of hair opening up as it split off from his normal hair. He was fucking sore, and he stood up. He wondered what the other guy was up to. His stamina was keeping up well, since he had only been using D-ranks and C-ranks for the most part, and his control was impeccable, but he was clearly weathered for the course.

Gathering himself, he quickly tied the Kage hat by it's ends around his waste, covering his manhood, and would then do a short hand seal before getting up, and making his way around the mountain, slyly. He wasn't gunna just pop over the top.

The air in his lungs felt refreshing.

The morning light was beating down upon the village now, by the angle of the sun it was about 6. Raijin stood in his small crater at the base of the skyguards' tower, not really understanding what the structure was for. He examined it carefully, curious about it's contours and palisades. Then an arrow soared down toward him from above. One of his nine drums sped swiftly into its path, knocking it from the air. He snarled with frustration. "It seems irritating qualities run in human DNA." He mumbled, gesturing toward the top of the tower. The drum which had blocked the arrow spun quickly on its spot for a moment before launching up into the air. There was a dull boom as it struck something, before it came spiralling back down as if boomeranged. The body of a female skyguard soon followed, breaking on the mountainside to Raijin's left. He smirked, finding amusement in how fragile the human body was. Now he remembered why he was fighting. Because this place was not meant for weak humans, it was meant for a God. It was meant for him. They had taken it from him, and they would soon learn his wrath. A malicious glee filled him, spreading a grin across his face as he turned. When he did so, he looked out over the landscape. Soon Hayate would appear, and when he did, Raijin would finish him. After all, he'd simply been standing there for the minutes it would take for Hayate to circle the mountain.

[Kage Test] Divine Judgement

Post by Taiga » Mon Jun 09, 2014 7:02 am

This, was it. The end. His final act. He would strike, he would strike strong, and he would strike quickly to end this god. The fight had rapidly changed from him having no chance, to him doing his own spectacular trick and evening the odds, and yet, despite all his efforts, this god still was stronger than him. He had a mystical drum that he could just send flying around with no hand seals or anything, and by now, he probably was not going to fuck around when Hayate showed his face. After all, he was probably pretty pissed and tired of his antics.

His hands forming a single seal, his eyes closed for a brief moment, sending his chakra out. He sensed a skyguard who had just died, and Raijin up on the cliff waiting there. Opening his eyes, he began his plan. Deftly he sealed as he split his remaining stamina pool into two. This would be somewhat tricky.

Next, Hayate approached the cliff with his clone, but quickly and quietly, making sure he did this in a quick matter. His hands sealing, he would imbue himself with great control before sealing again. His clone meanwhile, made a giant pond above them on the platform, the water seemingly flowing from sky guard tower.

And then, both him and his clone would make their finals seals, gigantic arms flying forth from the water. Their presence was now known, and time was of the essence. Peeking from around the corner, Hayate would slam 6 of his hands into the drums, pinning them to the ground. His other two hands would grab at the limbs of raijin, aiming to pin him.

Simultaneously, the shadow clone who had leaped up to a higher position than Hayate's arms would do the same. He'd cover the drums and the ones the original Hayate didn't with all 7 of his hands, his other one coming from behind and scooping at Raijin- the hands basically covering everything with their might as they slammed down.

The hands would cover his eyes too, and were big enough to pin multiple limbs at once. Basically, they would form a complete pin on him.

The only thing was they couldn't use other jutsu while channeling this jutsu... so, even if they pinned him, they had no real way of... actually attacking him.
USEDShow
*[Sensory • Beyond Senses]
C-Rank Ninjutsu
Prerequisites: 5 ninjutsu, 5 control, and 5 wit
This sensor jutsu is used by shinobi to feel chakra sources within a radius of 25 yards. While this jutsu is fairly helpful in sensing chakra, it is unable to actually pinpoint specific chakras outside of 10 feet. This only gives the Shinobi an idea of how many entities with chakra are present in their general area. There is no set range, but generally, with greater Ninjutsu and Control abilities, a ninja can see further and further out. The maximum range for this technique is 30 yards for those with average required stats of higher than 6.

*Advanced Shadow Clone Technique
A-Ranked Ninjutsu
After forming the needed handseals, the user proceeds to create a number of clones of themselves (maximum is equal to the user's stamina). Unlike the Clone Technique, these clones are actual copies of the user in both appearance and substance. The user's chakra is evenly distributed among every clone, giving each clone an equal fraction of the user's overall power. The clones are capable of performing jutsu on their own and can even bleed, but they will usually disperse after one or two solid blows. The clones will be created in roughly the same condition as the original and any experience the clones gain during their existence is transferred to the user once they are dispersed. Given that the clones are an exact replica of the user, they share the same stats except for stamina, which is determined by the number of clones presently in effect. The advantage of this form of the technique is that once dispersed, the chakra distributed to the clones returns to the user, allowing any un-used chakra to be regained, slowing the draining usage of this technique. The chakra returns to the user at a different rate depending on the user's control.

1-6 Control: 1/4
6-13: 1/2
14-15: 3/4

State of Control
A-Ranked Ninjutsu
After forming the needed handseals, Hayate will let his body go relax, as he builds up chakra actively and forces it through his system for the next five posts. While this jutsu is active, his heightened sense of the chakra in his body and concentration of it grants him higher control (+4 Control) but at the cost of speed and his physical sense of body. (-3 Tai/-3 Speed)

[Suiton • Pond]
B-Rank Ninjutsu
After performing the required hand seals, Hayate places his palms on a surface, releasing a torrent of suiton chakra. Generally, the surface will give way to the immense building water pressure and weight, causing a twenty meter diameter, four meters deep portion to sink, the water from the jutsu filling the depression and forming a pond. This jutsu is perfect to create a battle situation for a suiton user, and allows them to save chakra by using it as a water source.

Both [Suiton • Divine Armament]
A-Rank Ninjutsu
After performing the required hand seals and holding the last one, eight arms made completely of water rise up from the ground or a nearby water source. Each arm is three feet thick and can stretch up to fifteen-meters in length and move up to twenty meters away from Hayate. As long as Hayate maintains the seal he can control the arms at a speed and strength equal to the average of his ninjutsu and control, for a maximum of six posts. At that point the arms will collapse with a speed of ten and a strength of nine onto whatever is beneath them.

While Hayate didn't just 'pop over the top' of the mountain, it didn't seem like he was terribly careful with his approach either. At least, to Raijin. He was able to pick the naked sprinter as he circled onto the inhabited side of the mountain, but it may have just been because of his non-human eyes. The spirit considered hurling a lightning bolt down to kill him on the way, but that was boring. Soon, the Jounin disappeared among the buildings as he got onto the mountain that Raijin currently occupied, and could be seen no more.

After a quick look around, Raijin realized there was no way to where he was that he could see, which meant any conventional approach would be made from the tower behind him. He turned on the spot and considered the tower. It truly was magnificent, almost a shame that Raijin would have to destroy it after he finished the annoying insect. The two drum sticks he held extended to their two meter length, and electricity crackled down them. So, he faced the tower and waited.

Then water rushed through the crenelations with a tremendous roar, bearing down on the god. Before it touched the ground, the water became a series of hands. Raijin did not miss the fact that Hayate had appeared around the corner of the tower, however, now staring straight at the spirit with his hands locked in seals. As the water approached, Raijin performed hand seals with his second pair of hands, gathering the volatile liquid lightning of storm. This would be the final clash.

The approaching arms of water bashed the spirit's drums aside, hurtling them over the mountain. The tendrils of storm burst forth, two of which performed a complicated series of turns in order to cut through the approaching hands, guarding Raijin's body. The other two went straight for Hayate's shoulders, one to the left and one to the right. Even if the man dodged, since they were slightly slower, Raijin could turn the beams 4 more times.

Prerequisite: *Laser Circus Technique, At least 14 other Storm Style techniques, 9 Ninjutsu
Storm Style's most well known and dangerous technique, the user puts their hands together at the wrist and focuses until ten small orbs of liquid lightning form on each fingertip, then form into a shining halo connecting each of the user's fingers. From this halo, up to 4 blasts of liquid lightning shoot out and the halo remains, allowing the user to pump a constant amount of chakra into the technique which allows them to blast out another four liquid lightning bolts each post though obviously each post takes more chakra. Each one of these bolts moves at a speed equal to (ninjutsu+control)/2 to a max of 8 and they can turn up to 5 times each. The overall technique can move each post up to 50 feet away and when they impact an object the destructive force is enough to blow down the wall of a building individually, all together they could probably level an average sized house or guard tower. As a focused technique the user cannot perform any other jutsu and must hold their hands in the formation position for this technique or the beams will be interrupted and dissipate, they can also be interrupted by damage to the user.

[Kage Test] Divine Judgement

It seemed the god, Raijin, had been waiting for him this whole time. I mean, why wouldn't he have been? The next few moves happened quickly as his water alerted the god of his presence, and by the time that was known, they had both begun to furiously seal. Before Hayate knew it, the man's beams had shot up into the air, and his own hands had shot up like wise. Moving them the best he could, he did successfully swat the drums far over the mountain and away, though the spirit fired four bolts of storm.

As for Hayate, he maintained his focus on his arms. They were far faster than these storm bolts, and a bit stronger too, given Storm was weak to Suiton. Making sure as he channeled to secure the majority of his arms, two of them, the ones point blank at Raijin would definetly be lost. Suiton may have been stronger against storm, but the fact was the two initial bolts would weaken the arms right infront of him, letting the other two fly right through and destroy them.

Fortunately, it wasn't that big a deal, because all the water in the arms had momentum, and when they broke apart, that water and momentum all had to come down... on Raijin. Who was using a concentrated technique. He'd definetely interupt it, and even if he didn't, he'd move the arms extremely fast for Raijin, clamping them down on him and holding him steady, while also sweeping him in towards Hayate.

Unfortunately, Hayate's clone's arms weren't nearly as strong as the real him, and the majority of them would be lost. Still, it had the time, speed, and distance to react as two of the rear arms would fly back to Hayate, swatting the storm bolts. Once the momentum of that would stop, the clone would throw his last two arms over the edge and out of Hayate's way, as his own hands vigorously sealed.

And then, and only then, the clone would leap forward towards the restrained, or hopefully restrained, or no matter what greatly slowed and vulnerable god- the swirling blue ball in his hand. If Hayate was lucky and able to get a grasp on the god, he'd chuck him in. If not, he'd hopefully sweep him forward, since forward and into the clone was really one of the only viable ways to go.

S-Rank Ninjutsu
An extremely devastating technique, after the proper hand seals a large torrential sphere of water begins to form in Hayate's hand. The sphere itself glows blue and is a mass of pure water that violently churns in every direction at a speed of 11. What makes this jutsu so incredibly dangerous though is it's perfect use of waters flowing properties. Anything that touches the event horizon of the three meter diameter sphere with less than 11 strength gets pulled in with an incredible force towards the middle of the sphere. Inside the sphere they will be tossed around violently by the churning waves making it extremely hard to even move and hold their breath in the oxygen-less environment. Finally, if the target doesn't drown Hayate can finish off the Gōukyū by detonating it. As the sphere contracts to increase the pressure water often is forced into the body of the victim before the sphere implodes with a crushing force of eleven exploding tags. This technique lasts for five posts or until detonated.

[Kage Test] Divine Judgement

Raijin drew a deep breath as the water crashed through his storm bolts. Just as he prepared to dodge, a feeling of intense sickness overcame him. Blood began to gush out of his nose moments before the water crashed into him, pushing him back at first. As the clone launched into the air, to crash down with Hayate's S-rank technique, Raijin began to glow.

Trapped in a swirling orb of water, the effect of the blue light that emanated from him was both mysterious and amazing. A truly awe-inspiring sight. Then, like rumbling thunder, Raijin's voice clearly projected over the village "This isn't over" it said, lacking any emotion or tone what so ever. Then, before Hayate's technique could finish him, Raijin began to disintegrate.

Raijin, like most spirits, was only able to manifest himself in physical form for a short amount of time. Because of the amount of power Raijin had expended during his fight against Hayate, this time had become much shortened for the considerably powerful spirit. However, the fact that he had not been killed properly meant that one day, the spirit would be seen again.

And before Hayate could take joy in the death of Raijin, his body fell apart and fizzled apart within the orb. He made sure that there was no trickery here, using his sensory and everything he could, but alas, it was true. Raijin was gone. He wouldn't lie, he felt kind of empty and robbed of victory. The damn thing should have died then and there, died and paid for all the pain and misery it had caused and all the damn destruction too. Yet- he knew it wouldn't be this simple. The stupid lightning god was a spirit and how the hell did you kill a spirit? You really didn't, for the most part.

Part of Hayate wondered if it worked like a genma and had to be sealed, or something like that, however that would be something for another time. For now, he let his clone disappear, the chakra rushing back into his system and propping the weary man up a bit, as the water of all his techniques rushed down the mountainside in a waterfall of sorts. He was to say the very least, exhausted from his second encounter with the Lightning God. Though, he luckily was unharmed, in comparison to pretty much dying the last time- had it not been for his medic.

With a deep sigh, he stumbled towards the Sky Guards building, in which he would find a tunic and some clothing that he could cover himself with, and remove Akino's hat from his nether regions, and once he was done with that, he would emerge from the building, still stunned by the days events and trapped in a surreal moment.

And then, he would descend the one of two desecrated peaks heading back into the village, the Raikage's hat held firmly in his grip. Akino had trusted him, and he had performed the duties Akino had begged him to do, though it ultimately cost Akino everything.

Crazy old man.
