Wanted: Training partner!

Post by Trashmaster » Sun Mar 13, 2016 12:49 pm

''And now we wait...'' The young genin mumbled to himself as he sat on a fairly large rock in the training fields, the wind flowing through his hair as he waited patiently for someone to arrive. The fields were fairly empty that day, a few Shinobi here and there sparring with a friend/training buddy of theirs. Isamu was watching these Shinobi fairly carefully...Mostly out of boredom while he waited. Most of them were fairly young, probably around the same age as Isamu, and he quickly noted a fair amount of mistakes in their Taijutsu. Isamu smiled to himself as he felt a small sense of pride being able to pick apart mistakes in their fighting, silently thinking about what he would do in the situations the Shinobi found themselves in. Still though, atleast they had someone to train with and improve...The genin had been training alone for a long time, and he knew it was holding him back. He needed a training buddy, and he needed one now.

The genin was so impatient...But he had a solution, and the decision he came to was quite...Odd.
Earlier that morning the genin woke up at dawn, just like he always did. Isamu was never one to sleep in or take a day off chilling at home, he always had something to do...And today this something was to get stronger! It was a day to train, and spar!
He spent a good thirty minutes on his own breakfast, preparing, serving and eating. The boy always woke up before his parents did, because of this he recently began to make his own breakfast instead of waiting for his mother to wake up, just so he could get to his daily life as a Shinobi even earlier.
As Isamu was returning his plate he heard footsteps coming down the stairs as he saw the figure of his father emerging, looking as tired as ever as he groaned and yawned in exhaustion. The boy quickly greeted his father with a hug as they both sat down and began to engage in some small-talk.
About half an hour into the conversation and mindless chatter his mother had already woken up too and prepared their own breakfast, his father was already more awake at this time and Isamu finally figured it was time to ask what he wanted to ask since he woke up.
''Dad, think we can spar today?! I'm pretty sure I can beat you'' The boy asked with a big grin, trying to somewhat challenge and taunt his own father into accepting his request, but his grin turned into a frown quite quickly as he looked upon his dad's face turning into a frown as well.
''I...I'm sorry Isamu...I simply don't have time lately, don't you have any other Shinobi you can train with? Your old man ain't much of a challenge to you right now anyway, you're just too strong, haha!'' He tried to laugh off, still feeling somewhat bad that he had to disappoint his son like that.
Isamu's eyebrows raised at what his father said, other shinobi...? Right. Isamu couldn't believe it...Why hadn't he thought of that before? The problem is though...Isamu didn't know any other Shinobi to train with, all of his life he had trained with his father and it was about time to change that.
The boy's frown changed into a slight smile again as he nodded towards his father. ''Right, good idea dad...I'll go do that.'' He replied as Isamu stood up, making his way to his room and sitting down infront of his desk, his 'thinking spot'.
The boy spent a good 15 minutes thinking of ways to get other Shinobi to train with him, he could simply go around asking...But that was pretty awkward to the boy. After deciding that the best possible way was to spread posters around town asking other Shinobi to meet him in the training fields, he ran into his dads room and grabbed a small pile of paper, a large inkpot and a quill before running back to his own room hastily.
Easily an hour of writing the same message passed, and Isamu's wrist was seriously killing him, but he was finally finished! Satisfied with his work, he grabbed a hammer and a fair amount of nails before hurrying outside with his self-made 'posters'.

The boy spent the next hours jogging around town spreading his posters around places of interest, and where lots of shinobi would often come across. Lots of weird looks and silent judging later, Isamu made his way to the training fields and sat atop a rock, overlooking the entire fields for his future training partner to arrive.

Recently, Yujiro had noticed he was slacking a bit in the stamina department, and so decided to take laps around the city to further improve himself as much as possible. The city was fairly crowded that day, but not enough people so that he didn't have an adequate amount of space to sidestep around people, although every once in a while he would hear an angry adult complaining about him. He wasn't the fastest ninja, but his height gave him an advantage. At one point, he could've sworn he saw some poster nailed around the city.

Is that even allowed? he thought to himself, noticing the poster more often as he made every lap.

On his run throughout the village, now sweaty and frustrated because his flak jacket, shirt, and fishnets were threatening to give him a heat stroke, he had seen the same poster over and over; and each time three words struck him.

" Future Taijutsu Master! " the poster mocked, reminding the genin of his dream to become the best. Each time he made a lap, the poster gave him a boost- mainly his anger coaxing him to ignore it- to run another, again, again, and again. Each time he looked at the poster, he ended up running slightly off course. Disappointed at the fact that a simple poster was distracting him from his goal, he continued to run- but his ignorance took the best of him and he stopped. Jogging over to the nearest poster, he skimmed through the words.

"Lots of blue"
"Genin"

he read off, giving him an idea of who to look for. As he ran from one end of the city to the training fields, he realized how many weird looks he was getting- running down a crowded village angry and sweating, and so he decided to take an off road shortcut, running straight to the cliff he remembered- overlooking the entire field. Speeding up the way to the cliff, he paused- shocked. A younger boy in blue was sitting at the top of the cliff, and immediately he recognized his target.

"HEY, ASSFACE!" he barked, crossing his arms and standing tall behind the younger genin. "I heard you wanted to spar, and bud, you will NOT be better than me." he stood, angrily fuming behind the boy.

A slight yawn escaped his lips as he continued to look over the fields, from left, to right...Back to the left...And right.
He repeated this motion almost endlessly, until it became something natural. He felt himself becoming more and more tired, his eyes becoming heavier until they finally shut.
Isamu knew he shouldn't fall asleep now, and that it'd be ridiculously stupid for him to do that, so he decided to focus on his hearing, surely someone would call out his name or come up to him if they saw his advertisement, just a matter of waiting...

As his focus increased on his hearing he began to notice a lot more sounds, the brushing of the wind against the leaves, the various shouts of training Shinobi, the birds chirping...
"HEY, ASSFACE!"
...And finally, an obnoxious jerk.

Isamu's eyes opened as he turned his head slowly with a slight grin, finally...Someone showed up.
He looked up in slight awe at the much taller boy, his mouth hanging open slightly as he re-adjusted his glasses before standing up before him...Making him feel fairly...Insignificant.
[Man this guy is tall...] He thought as he crossed his arms, raising his eyebrows as he quickly examined the boy.
He seemed to look very fit and physically capable, at first glance, a perfect training partner! But could he match up and actually be somewhat of a challenge? Isamu learned throughout the years that looks can deceive, just like his father...A fairly chubby and out-of-shape looking man, but man was he a good fighter...Atleast, to Isamu.

''I'm just gonna assume you're here because of my poster, right?'' The boy asked in a fairly neutral tone, completely ignoring the harsh and rude insult of the much older looking Shinobi. ''Kinda rude to not know who you're even fighting against, so...'' He spoke, sticking out his right hand toward the other boy. ''Ryuu, Isamu. Nice to meet ya.'' He said, introducing himself with a slightly fake smile. Isamu didn't care much that this guy was such a rude ass at first sight, since they would just be fighting...And some anger would be nice to have as motivation anyway, but still...It'd be nice if they atleast got along, in Isamu's eyes.

Once his challenger would've introduced himself too, Isamu would gaze over his shoulder to the vast Training fields and gesture towards it before turning back towards the colossal Shinobi before him.
''Wanna get this started? We can't fight here, but over there is nice.'' Isamu said in a fairly bland tone, still disappointed by the guy's behaviour.

Frowning, he took the boys hand and shook it harshly. "Very well. I'll meet you there." he said, taking off for the training field.

Yujiro turned around the cliff, running down the harsh downhill until he got to a clear area- with what he suspected was the younger, and definitely shorter, genin trailing behind. As he arrived at a bit of a grassy field- flat, a good bit of trees on the outskirts, and definitely unoccupied field at that, he began for the other side of the field.

( Field is approximately the size of a football field, so about an acre)

Once there, he turned around, taking both his daggers out of their clips, and spread his feet shoulder width, his arms held in a prayer-like position, hanging low, ready to pounce.

Isamu watched on as he saw the boy head for the training field, a slight pout present on his face. He stood there silently for a few moments before letting out a slight sigh as he stuck his hands in his pockets.
''You could've atleast told me your name...Rude.'' He mumbled to himself as he dragged his feet, slowly but surely following the much burlier looking Shinobi to the fields where they would test eachothers skills and hopefully learn a thing or two. Despite his shitty behaviour, Isamu was pretty excited to fight someone that appeared to be so promising in close quarters combat, maybe he could finally test his skills all out against this guy?

Hopping off the cliffside he grinded across the steep rocks before finally stepping down on the fields, slowly making his way to face his challen- err, Training partner
He stood there at the other side of the field as he watched the Shinobi takes his stance, even taking out his weapons...Huh, not at all what Isamu expected.
The daggers did make him feel slightly uneasy at the fact that he could get seriously cut up if he made a mistake, and actually began to rethink this spar, maybe set up some rules or restrictions...

Nah.

[You're a Shinobi for fucks sake...Gotta be ready for this.] The genin thought as he took his hands out of his pockets, slowly shifting into his own stance. He was nervous to get this fight started, but definitely determined...He would have to do his best to avoid all attacks and predict his opponent's movement so he could dodge effectively and avoid getting shanked.
Once his stance was taken he looked silently towards his opponent with a hardened gaze as he breathed in deeply.

''You ready!?'' He called out towards his sparring partner, waiting for a response or clear sign that he was ready to start before Isamu engaged.

As Yujiro switched between stances- back and forth- he attempted to watch his "Training Partner" 's movements, and came to the conclusion he was a taijutsu user. Wary to start the fight, Yujiro simply shouted out, "Count on it!".

Running forward, his feet stepping on the ground as lightly as possible so as to give him so leeway- just in case his opponent decided to surprise him. Stopping about a quarter of the field away from his opponent, he decided to give what he deemed a test.

Quickly pulling out three shuriken from his flak jacket's top left pocket and flinging them forward in succession, almost in a row { except for how shoddy his genin-level aim is }, jumping backwards in case he was rushed using his Turtle's Iron Wall, dropping into a more concentrated level of thinking.

This guy seems... On-par. Yujiro thought to himself as he concentrated, hoping for a match that would not only challenge him- but inspire him.

As his partner finally approached Isamu was sure that this guy wasn't joking around...The look in his eyes, it was the same as his. This guy had some determination, like he had something to prove...A real reason to win besides just training.

[Perfect...Lets see what you got.] Isamu thought with newfound confidence and excitement, cracking a slight grin towards his opponent as he approached.
His stance lowered and hardened as he readied himself for a ruthless attack from his partner, yet the only thing he saw was him reaching into his jacket and before long three shuriken were flying at the boy. Not that surprised by the weaponry because of the earlier showcasing that this guy wasn't scared to seriously hurt Isamu, the genin slid his right foot forward as he kneeled on the other and ducked under the incoming shuriken, his left hand firmly placed on the dirt of the training fields. (Fairly similiar to how one would start a sprinting race.)
While the shuriken flew over the boy he kept his eyes on his target, quickly inspecting him before deciding on how to exactly handle this situation.
This guy seemed to know a lot of different stances, ones that were quite unknown to the boy, but still...He had to do something.
A moment after the shuriken flew over him the boy took off in a burst of speed towards his opponent until he was just a few meters removed from him. Once closer he slowed down slightly and angled his body differently, placing his left foot forward but pointed perpendicular to his opponent. Once on his left foot Isamu spinned fully as he lowered his entire body and stuck out his right leg, attempting to use a low sweeping-kick to knock his sparring partner off-balance.

While Isamu knew he should be on the defensive some more, it felt natural to him to be ruthlessly agressive. And he definitely would focus on his defense more if the situation calls for it, just a matter of time before his opponent takes the offensive...

A grin spread on his face as he watched his fellow genin run at him.
"Now it's getting started!"
he goaded at his fellow genin, seeing his choice in Turtle Iron Wall was correct. Doing as his maneuver called for, he crouched low as his opponent came at him, and spread his arms wide, his forearms spread to the sides, so as to push his opponent behind him- technically lifting him over his crouched body

As he attempted to lift away his genin partner, he remembered his daggers were still in hand. Sidestepping and angling himself so his arm would be able to swing out above him, he jabbed his dagger at the space in which he predicted his opponent to be lifted off to- near the foot, close to the leg- but with his aim, most likely the thigh, which as much power as he could muster in the small space.

A bit cocky in prediction, and even more confident in preparation- he felt it right to switch stances to Cobra's Strike in retaliation, should his opponent be launched and his attack not hit- just so he wouldn't be surprised.

Can't be too careful.. Yujiro thought to himself.

[Fuck, this guy can lift me, he's pretty strong!] Isamu throught to himself when he was caught and literally flung into the air, unable to do much about it and unable to fight it as he quickly realized his mistake. This did give him the information though that the two were pretty much equal in strength, which Isamu would definitely take into account even though it would have to force him to take a different approach in fighting the one before him.
Now almost directly above his opponent Isamu continued to lock eyes with his opponent as he attempted to re-adjust his positioning to do something about the follow-up attack that should be coming any moment now.
Once he saw the much taller Shinobi sidestep under him he caught a glimpse of the daggers in his hands and in an instant he knew what was coming as it was fairly obvious.
Not having any time to think of a best possible way to avoid the incoming attack his instincts got the best of him as he re-positioned himself mid-air and raished both of his knees to chest-level as he crossed his forearms infront of his face, blocking it with his armored gloves.
He placed all of his hopes on this defensive option to work and that he wouldn't find himself with a knife rammed into his leg...And once he felt the knife clang against his left shin-guard he could rest easily knowing he was safe for now.

Removing his hands from his face he locked eyes with his opponent again as he attempted to kick himself off of the arm that was trying to shank him, performing a simple backflip as he landed on his feet again, just two meters removed from them.
[This guy is pretty good at countering attacks...I might have to let him make a move before I can do anything to him...] Isamu thought to himself as he returned to his usual fighting stance, eyes locked on his opponent's body to closely examine his movements.

Isamu took a deep breath to mentally prepare himself for the next engagement.

Not bad... Yujiro noted, watching his attacks dodged. Whilst in his cobra stance, he was ready to strike at his opponent- especially because he was two meters away. Pulling out more shuriken from his top left pocket- 3, specifically, he looked for somewhere to strike.

Steel guards over the body... Won't let any of my knife attacks cripple him, so that means I don't have to worry. he noted again, leaping backwards quickly to create a clone, after pulling his shuriken out, throwing them in a rapid succession at his opponent towards his left followed by his clone, ready to strike at him in case he jumped out.

Yujiro himself decided to run in opposite the shuriken and clone, jutting his fingers out, lunging his hand out with as much momentum from the forearm, and towards his pelvis, attempting to strike at a weak point, his clone ready to jump in.

[More shuriken...] Isamu noted as he saw his opponent reach into his pocket to grab 3 of the projectiles, though it surprised him that his opponent took so long to even throw them.
Isamu wasn't sure what to do at this moment, taking into account that it could be a trick to bait him into engaging. Once his opponent jumped back and spawned a particularly bland-looking clone Isamu raised a single eyebrow in curiosity, a Taijutsu specialist like him that liked to utilize clones? Interesting...
The clone was pretty much a dead giveaway to Isamu that he was going to attempt to overwhelm him from both sides in a combined attack, the shuriken were a nice, smart touch too...
Once the shuriken were thrown Isamu was already leaning towards his left side to dodge the incoming projectiles, but seeing the direction the shuriken took, completely missing Isamu entirely, he chose to ignore them and instead focus on the two targets before him.
Isamu noticed the real version already way closer to him than he would like, the shuriken effectively working as a distraction and now the genin was in a bad position.
[Shit! I didn't keep my eye on him!] The boy thought as he shifted his position to finally face his opponent. Isamu instinctually did what he was best at and formed a fist with his right hand, afterwards throwing a strong uppercut towards the boys chest, realizing his opponent was too close to him to even dodge.

The distraction massively worked in favor of his opponent, and the sudden attack aimed at him was enough to make Isamu ignore the incoming clone, putting him in a bad position right now, a big mistake on his part.

But then again, you can learn from your mistakes...

Fuck.. Yujiro thought to himself, noting that the shuriken flew nowhere near his target. As his arm flew in to lunge, he dipped down quickly so as to avoid the punch, caught a bit off guard. Instead of aiming for the pelvis as originally intended, his dipping turn caused his arm to sway over, landing squarely on his opponent's forearm. Seeing as he was too close a bit late, he felt a strong force land square on his back, pushing him back.

Not bad.. Maybe this'll be a real challenge. he thought to himself, grinning at the idea.

Since he had to dip and sway to avoid being hit, even being hit, he staggered a bit in retreating to give his clone leeway.Taking quick leaps backward- slightly less than a meter away from his opponent as his clone ran forth, he took the opportunity to slide his daggers back out and clear his mind- entering yet another stance. The stance he entered now focused on endurance, something he felt he would need if the fight continued the way it was going. Yujiro's basic clone simply slid in to kick, the field's terrain slowing it down noticeably, causing the kick to be lowered in strength. Landing on his opponent's leg, the clone immediately dissipated, leaving his opponent.

As they fought, he continuously noticed his opponent's skill level was very close to his- which didn't come as that big of a surprise seeing as they were both taijutsu users, only differing in style.

Readying himself for a counter-attack, he stabilized himself with his arms spread wide and legs spread apart shoulder width so as to control his own inertia. Turning slightly, he faced his opponent with a grin in hope for a challenge.

Wanted: Training partner!

[That...Somehow worked out.] Isamu thought as he saw his foe jump back after the engagement, Isamu shaked off the arm in which he got hit, light pain travelling throughout his right arm that slightly annoyed the Genin.
Getting ready to engage on his target he heard the sound of someone running towards him as he finally remembered...The clone! Fuck!
Before Isamu could fully turn around with a backhanded fist he was already struck in the left thigh. As the clone disappeared after it's surprisingly weak attack Isamu gazed back at his opponent in slight confusion, surprised by the clones weak strength in comparison to the real version of his opponent.
After realizing this guy must just be as weak in Ninjutsu as he is he couldn't help but smile, it was as if he was fighting a much taller version of himself that had a different fighting style...It was his lucky day!
''You're a good fighter! I'm actually getting kind of excited...!'' Isamu said as he returned to his regular combat stance, his left arm which is placed behind his back slowly reached into a pouch of his and pulled out two shuriken, Isamu attempted to make these movements go unnoticed to surprise his opponent as he continued to look at him dead in the eyes.
As quick as he could he snapped his right arm from it's position to fire off the shuriken aimed straight at his opponent while he dashed for his left side.
Isamu kept himself low to the ground as he formed a fist in his right hand, which was already extremely close to his opponent.
The genin let out a short but powerful shout as he attempted to ram his right fist into his partner's abdomen.

This battle had been something entirely new for Isamu, who was usually able to win fights using the same strategy of relentless attacks and completely overwhelming someone...But not with this guy, he actually forced Isamu to think before he acted, and to use clever tactics to gain the upper hand...Something he could definitely respect.

Isamu was already fairly certain that this guy was his ideal training partner, and that the two could learn a lot from eachother.

Daggers in hand, Yujiro knew he was ready to endure anything. Choosing to ignore his opponent's comment, simply nodding at them, he remembered he was nothing more than a vessel through which the animal spirits flow. The grin fading off his face into a more solemn look, he noticed two shuriken flying at him, his opponent quite close to his left side. Whilst his right side was empty, he figured, A sidestep would work... he thought quickly. If I do that, this fight will just be continuous dodges; we're practically equal.

Deciding to take what he deemed the "Manly" way through, he simply lunged to the left, the side in which his opponent was about to punch him through, his right arm flying out. With steel confidence, he slashed as his opponent came forth, his daggers slicing at his opponent's hand; not to stab, but to injure so as to scare him off from entering the same way. Simply lunging backwards and slicing his opponent's hand, which he felt was weak, he decided to add something flashy to it, lunging backwards- switching styles mid jump so that he was ready to pounce the next time his fellow genin came at him. Standing low, his legs spread far apart so as to better control his inertia and discourage lunges, he mobilized himself.

What Isamu had thought to be a smart move only ended up in another flaw of him, making another mistake in calculating potential options his opponent has.
As the genin threw his fist at his partner it seemed he overestimated his speed, feeling a rush of pain travelling throughout his hand as the dagger sliced the boy's fingers. The sudden pain surprised the boy greatly which only amplified the pain he was experiencing, his face scrunching up as his fist returned to an open hand. Isamu gritted his teeth as he almost fell forward from the momentum he still had, having to keep himself up by placing his left hand on the floor with his legs spread wide. Isamu's breathing became heavier as he clenched his right fist again, trying to accustom himself to the pain.
Isamu stood back up as a few drops of blood hit the dirt ground of the training floor, his eyes staring directly at his opponent, his expression much colder this time. ''This is starting to get annoying...You're just as strong and just as fast as me, my usual strategies clearly don't work on you...'' Isamu said as he reached into a pouch in his belt. His stance changed quickly as he pulled out a smoke bomb, which he proceeded to toss on the ground inbetween his feet as the bomb began to expand smoke in a wide radius around the boy, shrouding him completely.
While the smoke was beginning to do its thing the boy began to retreat by backstepping until there were 4 more meters inbetween them, thanking his opponent for the idea he gave him. Taking a page from his partner's book he weaved a set of handseals and created an extremely basic clone of himself which he sent forward through the smoke cloud. The clone would attempt to perform a simple roundhouse kick aimed at his opponents head.
Meanwhile Isamu would lower his body in the position you would take when starting a sprint, and began to dash off at max speed before leaping into the air with his left leg stretched out, blasting through the smoke cloud to attempt and catch his opponent off-guard.
''HRUAAAAAAA!!'' Isamu let out as he emerged from the smoke cloud, clearly getting really excited from this battle.

*[Basic Jutsu • Clone Technique]
E-Ranked Ninjutsu
After completing a set of handseals, the user forms a slight chakra 'body', thus creating a single, massless clone. The clone created from this technique is very basic and will dissipate when hit with anything. These clones do not possess vital signs or a unique chakra signature, meaning they don't disrupt the environment, and anything on their person is superficial. The clone has 1 in each stat. They are limited to basic movements.

*[Strong Fist Style • Dynamic Entry]
D-Ranked Taijutsu Maneuver
In this technique, the user builds momentum and speed in order to bridge the gap between themselves and a distanced target. After covering an appropriate distance, the user then lets loose a form of distraction, like a thrown object, in order to misdirect the target's attention. The user then leaps with their momentum, delivering a strong kick to bridge the rest of the distance.

Simply nodding at the boy's comment, he replied with a, "If yours don't work, just try mine!, chuckling to himself. Panting slightly as he waited for his opponent's next move, he analyzed his fellow genin's techniques in hope for an advantage. In a rather quick manner, he watched a smoke cloud emerge from in between his partner's feet, and what he assumed to be a rather simple clone fly out of it. The clone ran at him, leaping into what he assumed to be a roundhouse kicked. Simply swiping at it with his dagger, he watched it dissipate. The minor smoke cloud created by the clone's disappearance only added to Yujiro's confusion as he couldn't see his REAL opponent, until it was too late. As the clone's smoke cloud completely dissipated, realization flooded over him as he watched an elongated leg flying out at him.

In an attempt to work something out of his opponent's attack, he took the brunt of it, utilizing his tigers stance to close the gap even more- something his opponent must have wanted to do with his kick. Flinching back from the impact of the kick, and honestly a bit surprised at what he assumed to be a war cry, he simply focused on the openings his opponent gave him.

Now this is where it get's interesting! he replied coolly, recovering quickly, ignoring the pain that surged throughout his upper torso, instead looking for a way to retaliate.

Leaping forward quickly- hopefully to surprise his opponent after taking such a strong hit, he began striking rapidly at many points on Isamu's body- not aiming for accuracy, but damage in numbers. Attempting to strike at his enemy's shoulder, forearms, and collarbone, with lightning quick jabs and pushes, hoping to catch his opponent unprepared- which he heavily doubted; grinning as the fight truly began.

Feeling his leg connect to his opponent's torso made the genin smile to himself in a rather prideful manner, happy to see his plan had worked out and that he was one step closer to learning more advanced tactics than 'Attack it until it cries for mommy'.
Isamu landed on the ground already in a battle-ready stance as he grinned at his opponent in a slightly cocky way, replying with ''Give me all you got, Ass Face!'' towards his opponent's comment.
What Isamu did not expect, however...Was for his opponent to completely beast through the powerful kick Isamu landed on him just a few seconds ago. Before the genin realized what was happening he felt a stinging pain in his left shoulder and collarbone, able to avoid the strikes aimed toward his arms purely because of the fact that he raised his arms even more due to the previous strikes, fearing more to be aimed at his upper torso.
The genin wasn't backing off though and had already planted his feet into the ground, not moving an inch from the strikes. And while it hurt like hell he would just have to fight the pain now that his opponent was finally out of his defensive fighting style, Isamu knew that this was going to be his only chance where he could utilize his real fighting strategy!
The instant he realized the barrage was over the genin wound up his right arm and formed a fist with his right hand while stepping forward, he was theoretically in hugging-range of his opponent now as he threw his fist forward, aimed straight at his opponent's abdomen.
After the first punch would land or completely miss he twisted his torso the other way to throw a powerful left hook aimed toward his opponent's jaw just for good measure, the pain in his left shoulder decreasing the power and form of the punch slightly while another jolt of pain coursed through his body.

Isamu could feel himself starting to sweat and his breathing becoming heavier, having probably used up too much energy in his last attack, but this was the exact moment he was waiting for!
